kinda a sappy post but whatever. so if you haven’t heard, claudia cacace aka clacomics announced this morning that she wouldn’t be continuing her bmc animatic project. and I totally support her choice to do this, although it does sadden me a little bit to have that final nail in the coffin.
i got into bmc in 2017 and claudia was one of the first bmc artists I followed. there was just something about her expressions and poses and the way she drew characters that drew me in. because of her animatics and her art, I decided to take my own art seriously and even wanted to go to school for animation so i could draw like her someday. while I ended going to school for comics and not animation, if it weren’t for her I might not have even gone to art school in the first place.
so thank you claudia, for inspiring me to pursue art
Please interact with this post if you’d be interested in a Be More Chill fanzine. I know there have already been several zines for this fandom but I think another won’t hurt!
I noticed there isn’t a recent zine and that most were from 2018 (ah 2018 my beloved) so I was thinking it’d be nice, as sort of a dead fandom, to make something cool with those of us that are still heere.
Little background: I got into BMC when I was 12 and now I’m 18. I am a grade above the BMC kids in school. Yes I have not fully grasped the passage of time. I sort of left the fandom for a very long time and now I’m back out of nostalgia!
I noticed I have a surplus of people following my blog because of my BMC fanart and kandi so this just seems like a good idea.
So anyway! If you’d be interested in participating/reading one just like or reblog or comment or whatevs! It would contain fanart, fanfiction, and maybe even cosplay (does anyone still cosplay BMC characters?)
This zine would also be digital and free because finances and printing are scary!
