I need to reread The New Prophecy before I say for sure but Brambleclaw being offered the deputy position and turning it down would’ve been a far more fitting end to his arc upon feeling acceptance within his clan - because the true acceptance was never the rank, it was the family he found.

oh BIG MOOD. i was obSESSED with warrior cats for AGES. like. lowkey baby's first true hyperfixation. i deVOURED those books. they were typically too expensive for my family to buy (esp coz there were SOO many of them) so every time a new one would come out i'd beg my mom to bring me to the bookstore and then i'd straight up just sit in the aisle and read the entire thing then and there.

warrior cats is definitely, like, a huge part of what truly got me into drawing/writing/storytelling. i used to dedicate hours to illustrating scenes from those books. i had four HUGE handmade posters up on my wall as a tween with each and every cat from each and every clan that i'd update as the allegiances changed in the books. i used to design 'warriorsonas' for each and every one of my classmates because i was a super normal child. warriors is how i got into roleplaying, which was definitely a huge influence on my writing-- i read in an interview when i was, like, 11 that the erins sometimes got inspiration for warrior names from roleplay sites, and i was like!!!!! omg i have to start roleplaying on roleplay sites so that one of my warrior names get into the books!!!!

but i still obSESSIVELY roleplayed online for YEARS, i'd draw all my characters and draw my friends' characters, too, and scenes from the rps. we'd all write PARAGRAPHS upon paragraphs with, like, proper grammar and everything (because at that age and in those circles, roleplaying *with actions in asteriks* and stuff was CRINGE and everyone KNEW that the LONGER you wrote the BETTER your writing was, obvs, and that was the only factor--) i spent, like, every waking moment on this massive chatroom-based site called kugyay that had, like, hundreds and thousands of users in its heyday. granted, like, most people had more than one account (so you could have a custom profile for each character, obvi) but i remember everyone freaked out when we hit more than 10,000 accounts.

i could talk about my experience with warrior cats and all my various ocs for... like.... ages. also like. this is random and won't mean anything to most people, esp coz i only posted, like, a few pages about it, but i also want y'all to know that this graphic novel that i desperately want to bring to life and do justice someday and that i've dedicated SOOO much time thinking about is... like....... 1000% inspired by/based on warrior cats lowkey. like. i am infected. forever and ever.

Something something the way the bones/ashes of a ghost in TGCF work as a totem of love, bc they're literally the anchor of the soul on the mortal realm. Something something Palamedes trusting Camilla to take care of his remains in case he died, so he could come back, trusting her with his soul. Something something Camilla defending ferociously what little she could kept of him near her heart, lamenting she couldn't find the rest, keeping faith to the end.

This is a ghost love story. You could say the way remains and ghosts link is everywhere all over the world, but the specific way theyre a token of love in TGCF reminds me awfully of Camilla and Palamedes whole situation.

Hua Cheng says that if his ashes were destroyed (bc he knows xl enough to know it'd be only when xl is permanently dead and gone himself) (bc if xl doenst want him to remain in this world he won't...) it'd be OK. His soul, his very being on the hands of his beloved. The year of waiting by XL at the end, trusting HC will find his way home to him. Brr.

Otis and Gibbons learned that the sheriff and deputy knows who is cousin is, and was surprised that they knew Pico was a bandit leader. After confirming they wasn't going to go off to claim the bounty of the ginger, Boyfriend said,

"Don't worry, Otis. We can fix him. Girlfriend and I will make him love us so much that he'll have no choice but to give up his life of crime."

Otis was confused that a sheriff would think that way. "I don't... There's no way my cousin would do such a thing."

Gibbons replied, "I don't know. Love can make people act outside the norm."

"What? You really think they can make that hotheaded ginger into a good person?"

"Well... Look at yourself. You're way more assertive, and confident in your abilities after meeting me."

"...Oh."

Girlfriend said as the two men stared at each other, "So... Are you two going to make out or..."

What if the whole 'infertility WHOOPS nvm' situation was caused by the DF? Maybe all the DF knew was that one of Firestar's children was to birth three warriors who could destroy them, and they obviously thought squilf was the one to do that, so they either tricked her or starclan into thinking she was infertile. What they DIDNT plan for was Leafpool breaking the code and getting pregnant, still fulfilling the mini prophecy.

Also my knowledge on things post first arc is really fuzzy but could mudclaw's death be from the DF? That put Onestar in power who iirc REALLLYYY hates TC bc he doesnt want to seem too friendly with them, thus dividing the clans more. Could work the other way around with them sparking Mudclaw's rebellion, amd Starclan stepping in to send the tree down.

Good suggestions! But I think I've got these two situations down pat already

Squilf's Infertility

I just kinda prefer the idea that sometimes people are infertile, y'know? Especially Squilf. I also don't want the Dark Forest to go away and have to open up the question of, "If they're not cursing her anymore, can she have babies now?"

No biobabies for Squilf. She raises the Three, and is the mentor of Jessy's and Bramble's daughter, Sparkpelt. She's just infertile because that's how things are sometimes.

Mudclaw's Rebellion

For this one, the Dark Forest's only involved insofar as Tigerstar is training Hawkfrost.

I want to make sure that Mudclaw's rebellion stays Mudclaw's idea primarily; I don't want to fall into the trap of canon material where they keep blaming the actions of their villains on Born Evil Cats without whom there would be no problems.

Mudclaw accepts Hawkfrost's reinforcements, and promises him power in exchange for help... but it wasn't the Dark Forest, or Hawkfrost, that suggested killing Onewhisker. Mudclaw did that.

And for that Mudclaw is actually going to the Dark Forest! He will not be in StarClan for my rewrite, likely becoming one of the cats who ends up defending Ashfur's Tunnel post-TBC along with Juniperclaw.

#I also don't think Onewhisker hated ThunderClan from the offset #or even when he first became leader #The way I'm approaching him is as a person who was deeply affected by the fact his Clanmates wanted to KILL him #I see that as the most important moment for how I understand this character #I don't agree with the idea he hated it from the moment he got the power tbh #and I didn't like how Onestar's Concussion was like ''Wow ruling looks hard im so glad im normal and will never be deputy'' #He seemed... Fine. With that power. Just using it to be friendly and seeking people to balance him out #Like it's super interesting he picks Mudclaw as deputy even though he ALWAYS fought with him. Even as far back as TPB #It struck me as him wanting to rule with a casual fairness. To not really approach being a -Star as being above others but using power in - #-the way Tallstar assumed he would. #But... Clan culture is at the root of many problems and Onewhisker to OneSTAR is no different #Rejecting Smoke and becoming a hardened Star comes down to how the xenophobic #and brutal battle culture isolates people who live within it #He can't live with disgrace. He's a coward. He wanted to do the right thing his whole life but what IS the right thing in a culture that - #values strength so hard? #I'll tell you; the right thing is becoming hardened. Rejecting your mate and son and becoming the assertive leader that WindClan was expect #ing #Idk. #fave spotting #gerald harper #gideon's way #adam adamant lives! #adam adamant #itc #1965 #state visit #character actors #this was the year before he put on the wig and became that most noble of victorian adventurers... #Gerald was already a bit typecast at this point‚ invariably playing military officers or senior police types in most of his roles in the #10 yrs or so he'd been acting. usually upper class stuffed shirts or slightly louche‚ Adamant would be his first chance to get really #playful with a part. here he is‚ unfortunately‚ a dick: his Deputy Commander is acknowledged to be capable but inexperienced and #as such has acquired a monstrous chip on his shoulder. mostly he takes this out on his poor unfortunate wife (don't worry‚ she leaves him #half way thru the ep‚ and quite right too). he does well in a difficult role‚ managing to wring just a little pathos out of this #antagonistic‚ bullying ass. this was the first episode shown on british tv‚ despite being about 6th in production‚ and it's an odd choice #for an opener‚ not least bc the home life element of this ep is concentrated on Harper's one shot character and not the Gideons #by the end it feels like we know this jerk better than we do the title character‚ which must have been a little jarring when he never #returned in the next week's episode (or indeed any of them after that)

have i played clangen? ME? i may or may not have had it since around when it first came out ...... may or may not currently be playing my longest running clan............. say hello to my leader

who leads the clan by very strictly following the warrior code bordering on ridiculous and everyone just kind of tolerates her and my deputy

who hates sparkstar and is plotting to kill her and pretended to be sick so the clan would take him in but just wanted to take over. he killed his apprentice and blamed it on a rogue who had been terrorizing willowclan for a while. here is said apprentice

i think my favorite event in this save so far was when half of my clan mysteriously disappeared and were found dead and at the same time a kit named "hopekit" was born and it was a very sweet moment and then in the next few moons hopepaw died in another mass death event and it was extremely depressing
