So in my perspective, I saw Mercy's "I'm tired" as being a solemn, almost resigned wife. One who is tired of smiling, tired of her husband's nonsense that she looked past time and time again. Maybe she found out Jackson had a mistress on the road. Maybe she found out said mistress was pregnant. Maybe this is the fifth time she learned about a new mistress LMAO lots of potential drama here!

LOTS AND LOTS!!! I don't know about anyone else but that "I'm tired" felt HEAVY! And that could be what those looks were about in the back seat. I bet George and Bertie felt that heaviness as soon as Mercy got in the car and maybe they've felt it before!

huge downer warning!! I've been really sad and haven't posted, little dude passed away a couple days ago. he got worse and worse and passed before i could try any medication. yesterday i went to get a replacement, and he didn't even make it through heat acclimation. kinda swears me off big box sick bettas. but ya super bummed, having a bad luck streak on fish.

thank you, i'm feeling a lot better today already with how kind everyone's been to me 🤗

i just needed a day to cope for my little betta, it's been almost two years since i adopted her and it just feels far too soon.

i don't think i ever showed her off, i don't have many good pictures of her (bettas never stay still i swear!) but here's the best pic i have of my good girl. she was the most chill fish, not even caring when guppies bounced off of her hehe

her favorite spot... the little printed betta cave at the top of the tank 😊

#i'm gonna miss her though.... she was the third betta i've owned i a think she'll be the last. i'm just not lucky with them i guess. #wasn't even planning on getting her the day i did though. went to the store for fish food and stuff and saw her in a little cup - #- so dirty it was green with algae. i couldn't leave her there. she was a glo-betta and those little guys never got adopted. #hell they've stopped breeding them now. she was one of the last of her kind i guess then. i dunno how healthy they were but she did good. #i wonder if the guppies will miss her. she was the most chill betta. would never get mad or chase them. #.... besides when i first got her and the boys kept trying to flirt with her. thought she was a giant female guppy i guess.

On the bright side I sold almost 600 dollars worth of my ceramic work at an arts festival today so that’s cool! Also the president of our college bought one of my figurines and gave me a high five so that was also cool

more shrimp... facts? observations?

i really like ghost shrimp, though unfortunately they don’t live very long, doubly so because they’re meant as food stock and are kept in poor conditions en masse.

they are, however, the boldest motherfuckers on the planet. they’ve got those two large graspers and i’ve seen them stealing food from and then punching a betta for chasing it. the biggest ones get a little under two inches long.

neocaridina will yeet themselves away from threats, and i do mean fucking YEET. it’s very fun to watch and sometimes they breach the surface.

neocaridina, by the way, have a ton of different colors.

(not an exhaustive collection.)

however, as previously stated since they’re all the same breed, they’ll intermingle and within a few generations you’ll have muddy, washed out colors.

they also are an aquatic pet you can happily keep in 5 gallon ‘desk’ aquariums, along with snails. I personally love mystery snails :>

that little hollow tube structure is called a snorkel and it’s used exactly as the name implies, for breathing. these guys are super fun to watch and shrimp will ride their shells to munch on anything that’s collected on them.

do remember that any aquarium, no matter the size, requires the proper maintenance. don’t overstock (keep too many animals), do go heavy on the aquarium-rated decorations, and regularly take 10% of your water level out and replace it with fresh water with water conditioner mixed in and you’ll keep your critters much happier.
