so i broke up with @bladekindeyewear a couple of weeks ago

he was my first boyfriend in ten years, or thereabouts, and the two of us got together largely through the process of my coming out

he and his mom helped me to escape from the high control religious group that i was raised in, and i moved a thousand miles to go live with the two of them, with only a handful of my things

and over the past most of a year, they’ve really become my family, bkew’s mom really became like a new mother to me, i call her mom and everything, and her sons are my brothers, i know them all and i love them.

and the thing is, that includes bkew, who i lived with for like, 8 months now, like, we didn’t part on bad terms, and his mom is still my mom, which makes us siblings, a sentiment he largely agrees with

found family relationships can end up in territory that is like, anathema to a culture that centers blood family as the most important factor, and how so much of our law is built around the expectation that you’re going to settle down with a person of the opposite sex, and have children with them, like, so much of global oppression is, in a big way about reproductive control

like, an extremely significant part of my experience now has themes of incest in it, which if fascinating, and i think it’s like, one of the ways in which having queer relationships can cause your whole life to kind of, become ritually impure? if you understand my meaning? like, you exist in a socially illegal category.

anyway, i started writing this because i had to update my bio/pinned post to reflect the fact that i am no longer dating someone, which has caused them to transition from boyfriend to brother, and i wanted to explain that.

dirkgamzee theory???

well known HS theorist bladekindeyewear posited that Dirk would end up with Gamzee in an attempt to "pair the spares" because there would be no other viable ship options for him. If I recall correctly, he made this theory in 2011. Aka, before Dirk was ever introduced.

bladekindeyewear had a habit of predicting the most inane stuff because some of his more bizarre theories (the autoresponder is doc scratch) were true or half true, and some of his far more reasonable ones (one called knight to d6 I believe that predicted Dave's death) turned out to be entirely wrong, to the point where people believed Hussie was deliberately fucking with him

In this case, he correctly predicted Dirk was gay- though obviously not for Gamzee. In "Bro made gay puppet porn" hindsight, kind of obvious, but was not really thought about by most people outside of like, Bro Strider shippers.

Classpect Opposite & Inverse Groupings

Given inverse and opposites, classpects seem to fall into neat groups of 8.

These groups are made up of a class opposite pair, their inverse/opposite pair, and the opposite aspect versions of them. Take the Sylph of Life, for example. The opposite of a Sylph of Life is a Maid of Doom. The Inverse of a Sylph of Life is a Prince of Doom. The opposite of a Prince of Doom is a Bard of Life, which in turn is the inverse of a Maid of Doom. 

That gives you: Sylph of Life, Maid of Doom, Prince of Doom, Bard of Life

Swap the aspects around and you also get: Sylph of Doom, Maid of Life, Prince of Life, Bard of Doom

In total this gives you an 8 classpect set. I have come up with defined names for each of these groups (with extra thrown in for Muse & Lord). Combine the Class and Aspect group names for the full name of your 8 classpect set.

In this case, the above set would be: those that Alter Energy to Influence. The aspect descriptions used come from bladekindeyewear.

Sorry for yet another ask about AraSol lol, but reading the posts about them made me remember something from bladekindeyewear that I HOPE doesn't become reality...

There's a lot of text here, so if you'd like to read it, feel free; however, I'll skip directly to their theory! Before the panel of Sollux crops up asking himself, "h0w the fuck am i g0ing t0 get d0wn fr0m here", bladekind questions if Aradia dropping Sollux was because the writers wanted to ship her with someone else. Specifically, shipping her with Davebot!

Looking at it from that angle, I think there's a kernel of truth to it. I mean, the writers have been called out for their obvious biases before-- their love of DaveKat/disdain for DaveJadeKat and RoseMary-- easily come to mind. With all the other nonsensical, disjointed romantic pairings shambling out and about, *cough cough* Jasprosesprite^2/Jane/Gamzee/Candy! Vriska *cough cough*, it's not too implausible they'd insinuate AraDave at the worst possible time.

Either that, or Davebot fights Meat! Dave for Karkat's hand in Homie Matrimony, which would be equally terrible.

Some could definitely interpret Aradia ghosting Sollux and is now dating Davebot. It wouldn't be the first considered she still played as Equius's smoochbot even after she ripped the chip/heart that forced her to make her love him. Others could argue she decided to stay with Equius's side and distanced herself from Sollux in order to make the timeline continue. But if that's the case, then it just makes it fucked up that other timelines are DOOMED because she didn't do it. And she seems just fine in the end because she is alive again. Nobody calls her out and she would never think about those implications. It does not help that Dave is basically just Sollux in human form that's cooler. If they only ship them as Time Players and their struggles, does it mean Aradia never talked about her woes and tires about keeping time in place to Sollux. Surely he would have listened and help console her. Would WhatPumpkin try to think Sollux never listened or talked to her about that? I could definitely see Davebot fighting Meat!Dave for Karkat's hand. It would be something like Davebot worried that Candy!Karkat would not take him back after leaving him, thus decides to steal Meat!Karkat. But some bullshit deus ex Machina, Candy!Karkat will arrive to take Davebot back and accept him as his matesprite, thus Davekat happens in both Meat and Candy timelines. Gotta have their cake and eat it too.

Somehow Hussie and BKEW were jumping through absolutely fucking opposite thought processes at every turn and yet they came to the exact same conclusion exactly twice: Doc Scratch is AR, and Rose from Act 5 was somehow, in defiance of all Canon and storytelling fundamental logic, completely wrong and should never have crossed the almighty forces governing her and why did Hussie even write her that way because obviously nothing is ever going to come of it.

You *will* believe two men can completely and totally forget reading/writing a story about planetary extermination simply by shoving their own heads deep up their asses.

I require the aid of an experienced Homestuck! I'm making a fanventure and I need to figure out god tiers. Ruki and Renamon are obviously Heart and Blood players respectively, but I'm having trouble figuring out classes. I've heard old speculation that Heir might be "one who defends through [aspect]," thus Heir of Heart, but I figure I should ask an expert!

So the thing about classpecting is that contrary to what a lot of wiki editors and uquiz writers and People Who Are/Follow bladekindeyewear would have you believe, classpecting is not really a rigid set of rules that dictate every character's personality, actions, and character development. The original design document on the classes and aspects is relatively short, because the intention for them is to be vague and subject to personal interpretation. As such, my own interpretation is no more or less valid than yours.

Having said that, I can not read Ruki as any class other than Knight. Hers is the way of the warrior, and the challenges presented to her are not to make her stronger, but rather to learn how best to apply her strengths. As for Renamon, I envision her as a Sylph, due largely to the support role that her later evolutions command.

But again, mine is but one of many possible and equally valid interpretations.

Thoughts on Roxy (Candy) in HS^2

Some thoughts from Discord I had on how well I was warming up to HS^2 lately, specifically how it was handling Roxy.  Spoilers under the cut, concerning HS^2 all the way to the current pause point:

BlastYoBoots — Today at 2:46 PM I realized just in the back of my mind, a handful of days ago, how before HS^2 paused it had been coming around strong on one of the biggest things that'd annoyed me about it

in the Candy side, Roxy seemed to have resigned herself to housewife-- and raising a child is noble and all, but she was a GOD and a capable scientist-minded person all wrapped into one and the world was falling into chaos, with her barely even taking a side compared to everyone around her she looked weak, ineffectual-- I was delighted to hear that she at least TRIED to introduce flight to the world, to make some change to make the world better with her power and talents (the status of godhood conferred in part because they prove WILLING to go that far for it), and dismayed that it failed, though at least I had a mental picture of someone who had tried to leverage her power and mind and found that the world didn't want her to :( that depressed me throughout HS^2 until the very last update I was blogging when that request from Roxy for John to help her move some heavy furniture was given, and I was like, COMPLETELY outraged for a moment at the idea that they maybe, possibly, had forgotten that Roxy was powerful enough to at least lift a bed with her top-of-the-echeladder god strength but it all eventually played out, in those last update or two and it turned out that Roxy and Callie were working happily together, without anyone knowing about it, looking as meek as possible -- truly Voidy -- on what is probably the most important move in the entire plot, to save their world and possibly the other.  with a sick-ass underground science cave at the heart of the universe.  just like, yeah.  chill.  on the down low.  just lettin' John know about it maybe a little. and all that just fills my heart with joy. so yeah, just had to get that off my chest
