Please note that these are specifically for Legacyverse itself and not necessarily 1:1 with my hcs for the show proper! But a good chunk of these are OCs anyway so it's whatever! OKAY LET'S GO—

Zane: Nonbinary Panromantic (He/They, sometimes She under very specific circumstances)

Lloyd: Grayromantic/Graysexual (He/Him, but also doesn't actually care how you refer to him)

Skylor: Genderfluid Omnisexual (Pronouns fluctuate, but isn't bothered by people defaulting to She/Her)

Nya: Biromantic Asexual (She/Her)

Jesse: Biromantic/Bisexual (He/Him)

Pixal: Polyromantic Bigender (She/He, sometimes They; all situation dependent)

Miranda: Unlabeled (She/They)

Harumi: Demisexual (She/Her)

Bridget: Transfem Aroace (They/She)

Olivia: Pansexual/Panromantic Demigirl (She/Her, uses other pronouns sparingly)

Harleigh: Lesbian (She/Her) (Harleigh really be like "Dad I'm gay" and Ronin be like "Yeah and after dealing with your mother for 15 years I am too")

Anyyyyway, the only ones missing are Antonia (who I don't have hcs for since she's based on a real person) and Sunni (who is the Token Straight but very dearly supports all of her friends~)

But Happy Pride everybody, tried to get these out sooner but life has me by the throat this month <3

we really got these three appearing in a new star trek show and instead of teaming them up as part of a new storyline with the XBs and reclamation project that built off of “i, borg” and “the descent”, they just killed hugh off in season 1 and sidelined bev and geordi on nostalgia bait in season 3. a direct crime against me, personally.

It's probably better that it was Hugh the Enterprise Crew met in I, Borg because Hugh is more amenable to becoming an individual. Meanwhile, Seven of Nine would have been angrier and haughtier, Seven was proud of being Borg. (I guess those with a strong personality and who grew up within the Collective can still have a flavor of their personality). But also, comes with my theory that despite the Borg claiming to not have a hierarchy they still do — the standard worker drones, those who organize the drones. How the Collective determines which becomes which is unknown, but there is the central Queen that organizes all principles and orders.

Anyway, Guinan would not have responded well to Seven of Nine. Guinan and Picard didn’t have a need for keeping a Borg alive, especially with someone like Seven of Nine who was all the way bought into being a Borg. For Seven, being part of the Collective makes Seven bigger. It’s only, after Seven’s been disconnected from the Collective from months that she’s grown to appreciate her own individuality.

It took Hugh only a day or two to have his own individuality.

In a way, Hugh is even more of a fresh slate, an easier and more open and innocent one to accept the concepts of personhood.

But returning Hugh to the Borg after learning all that, even when he volunteered to do it to protect the Enterprise also felt wrong.

Considering Guinan’s issues with the Borg, I wonder how she first took to Seven. Especially since, unlike Hugh, Seven insisted on her Borg name.

Hugh asking and using “Hugh” instead of Third of Five was a factor for Guinan softening towards him.

Seven has no instincts for that, Seven is the name/designation she grew up on. It will remain to be so.

Annika is used rarely and only as a Shibboleth to call Seven back to her individuality.

But Seven of Nine is her True Name, to use Fairy Tale languages.

Anyway, I feel, especially after Bjayzl’s betrayal Seven has distanced herself from using Annika in everyday life.

Seven is her chosen and true name.

Hugh’s experience is different.

Seven’s severing was more of a baptism of fire, in the middle of a war between Borg and Species 8472. While Hugh was taken for the sole reason to be used as a weapon his interactions with the Enterprise crew was not as embattled.

Hugh and Seven were the first Borg to be completely severed from the Collective without other Borgs unlike in Unity (Voyager).

Also, from what we saw in Unity the Collective there were adults who had a life before becoming Borg unlike Hugh and Seven who grew up Borg.

more deep space station OCs!! her designation is Five of Eight, Tactical Drone of Trimatrix 1076, but she understands that takes a lot of time to say out loud, so she will accept the shortening of “Five” for efficiency’s sake.

Five is an Andorian (specifically one born to Andorian and Aenar parents - hence the green skin) who was assimilated by the Borg shortly after Starfleet made first contact with the Borg in 2365. her cube underwent a submatrix collapse and was cut off from the collective, all of the drones entered regenestasis. approximately 15 years later, five spontaneously awoke from regenestasis and attempted to resume her duties aboard the cube. being completely isolated and cut off from the collective, she began to regain her individuality.

growing restless, she partially repaired an alien craft that hadn’t been finished being disassembled and assimilated and set out to try and seek out another borg cube and rejoin the collective. by that point, she’d been cut off for too long, and as she approached the nearest cube her self preservation instincts kicked in. the ship she was in was old and in disrepair, so she was lucky enough to go unnoticed by the cube and was able to turn the ship towards federation space, and make contact with the currently still unnamed deep space station.
