seeing a lot of discourse ab the new chapter w whether dazai is actually gonna die or not but hear me out- (this is gonna take a while)

1/? taking into account the most obvious reasons why chuuya would be unable to save dazai, being that i. he can’t activate his ability on the elevator because dazai is touching it (which i will touch on in a different post) and ii. he’s a vampire and being controlled by fyodor, its actually possible that dazai will just die. It makes sense that he would actually die in a way that manages to parallel the two people he thinks he failed’s deaths (odasaku- saving someone, akutagawa - leaving the rest to another), and furthermore, there is only so much plot armour you can apply to a character like dazai before it starts to become unappealing to readers. Considering the amount of major character deaths that have been happening recently, it also enforces that idea. From his death in general, it could also be huge turning point for Atsushi (whom at this point we pm forgot is the mc). His mentor dies protecting the same person he ‘failed to save’ from falling off the sky casino, shortly after his friend/enemy/homoerotic tension partner dies himself.

The end of this chapter has me thinking, what if Sigma will be the source of Fyodor's downfall in the end?

Fyodor himself said that Sigma is above the hunting dogs, himself, and Dazai. Dazai ends this chapter with saying the rest is up to Sigma. Sigma is an embodiment of hope and strength at this point (and is really being put through the wringer in terms of testing those qualities), which is opposite of Fyodor's view on the world and people as they are rn (with abilities existing).

Idk if this means that Sigma will kill Fyodor tbh, but maybe Sigma will be the one to help redeem Fyodor (if Fyodor is redeemable, that is, and not slated to die). Other enemy organizations to the ADA in bsd have been switched to allies at some point in some way, maybe it could be possible for DoA/Fyodor too.

At the very least, maybe he will be convinced to give up his goal and see the world differently, leaving the ADA alone in the process.
