Something from the "Halloween" script of Buffy:
They BOLT, but Buffy is having trouble keeping up. Angel SWEEPS her into his arms, carries her.
ON BUFFY
Afraid - but giving into his protection.
...
I may be wrong about this... but is the first time that Buffy rests her head against Angel's shoulder. And is this, perhaps, maybe what starts Buffy's love of doing that?
Also maybe part of what begins her feeling safe in his arms?

i think, with willow, with the exception of that episode which i and others have ranted about (thank you for endorsing the rant), most of the time her mistakes are teen-girl/young person mistakes. sometimes she's selfish or says/does the wrong thing -- most of the reason i hate the willow/xander cheat on their partners with each other, is really because i don't think it was particularly interesting writing, not necessarily because willow wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't make a mistake -- but up into college she's trucking along and doing her best. the part where she goes beyond that with the magic-addiction and stealing tara's memories is considered Big Character Moment (even though the narrative itself maybe doesn't go into the consequences as much as I'd like -- I'd need to wait until I've actually rewatched that part of the story)
xander is just a dick over and over in casual and not-so-casual ways and people just barely ever go. hey xander. stop being a dick.

idk I'm used to being a Star Trek fan where if you want any romantic relationship to happen you pretty much have to hallucinate them all on your own which the fandom is really great at doing but anyway now going into Buffy its SO WEIRD that romantic relationships are such a huge focus and also that it's not just cut and dry "we are two people who like each other" but like a very complicated thing that spans multiple characters. UGH its like if shipping was real

Girl, help!!! Rewatched Hell's Bells. As usual, I am not okay. If anyone needs me I'm gonna go lay down for a couple hours. Days, maybe. Obviously on the floor. Where else could I possibly lie?

Are You Now or Have You Ever Been is one of my absolute favorite Angel episodes. It reminded me of how, later, Angel left all the Wolfram and Hart lawyers to be eaten by Dru and Darla. Honestly, I'm just a fan of him leaving people for dead I think
