Crowdfunding Fulfillment at IPR

I already talked about becoming a publisher at IPR in this post, and now, as promised, here is the post outlining IPR’s Crowdfunding Fulfillment services!

The first important thing to note is that IPR only offers fulfillment services for IPR publishers, so you’ll have to get signed up as a publisher and agree to send us at least 50 extra copies of your game to sell after the fulfillment is completed.

So, what are the benefits of fulfilling with IPR?

We ship anywhere on the globe, via USPS, UPS, or FedEx

Handling expenses are as low as $2.30 per shipment ($1.90 per shipment plus 0.40/item as of 2023-01-01)

We charge $17/hour for miscellaneous labor (loading and unloading trucks, filling out forms, assembly, shrink wrapping, and other services)

Our storage rates are as inexpensive as $22.00 per pallet per month, or free if you’ve got less than a pallet’s worth of product!

After the fulfillment is complete, your game will immediately be available to a wide range of customers and retailers.

Cool! What do the steps of crowdfunding fulfillment look like with IPR?

First, you reach out to us and let us know you’ve got a project that you would like us to fulfill. This works a lot like applying to be a publisher, so please include a PDF of your game(s) as well, so we can look through them and make sure they’re something we would like to have at IPR.

Then, if you’re not already an IPR Publisher, we’ll get you signed up as one! This involves all the steps I talked about in the previous post, like signing the IPR Sales Rep contract and getting you an IPR Publishers account.

After that it’s a bit of a waiting game. If you have accurate weights and sizes for all the products of your fulfillment, we can find you estimates for domestic and international shipping, but they will just be estimates.

Shipping prices, especially international ones, fluctuate constantly. This is why I always recommend charging for shipping after your campaign has ended, and as close to the actual shipping dates as possible.

But other than that, you just run your campaign and get back to us once your backer surveys have been filled out! We’ll then take your backer info and use it to create a cost estimate for the fulfillment. This is, again, just an estimate, and it accounts for the costs of shipping, handling, packing material, miscellaneous labor, and a 5% surcharge on the packing and shipping costs.

That 5% is to account for unexpected charges, for example shipping prices can absolutely change in the week between us calculating the estimate, and us actually receiving and starting to ship out your game. It just gives us a bit of wiggle room.

Then we’ll send the estimate to you, you send your product to us, and once the estimate has been paid we’ll start boxing up and shipping out orders!

With the shipping service we use, we’re able to email tracking numbers to each individual backer automatically, to hopefully help curb all those “where is my reward?” emails. Still, we’ll also send you a spreadsheet of all the tracking numbers for your own reference.

Once the fulfillment is complete, we’ll draw up the actual cost of the project, and bill you for the difference between the actual cost and the estimate. Once that’s been paid, we’ll take your game live on the IPR website and promote it on our front page, social media accounts, and monthly newsletter!

Essentially, we offer fulfillment services at cost, with the main benefit to us being that we get copies of your game in our store before anyone else.

Forkface/Frank headcanons:

-Frank uses they/them, he/him, and she/her pronouns.

-They don’t think the name Frank completely fits them. It feels a little too masculine, and they would prefer something more gender neutral. But they don’t know what to call themselves yet, and being called Frank is better than being called forkface, so they just let everyone call them Frank for now.

-the reason we don’t see their other color pallets lately is because they prefer the moon one. They also prefer not to wear their nightcap so they can freely use their rays.

-Frank doesn’t have an actual name in their files. Their name in their files is something like ‘MR-01’, or something similar to that. ‘MR’ stands for Moon Replacement.

-Unlike with Sun and Moon, their clothes aren’t stuck attached to their body, so they could change clothes if they wanted.

I like these!

Also, gonna throw in a couple of my own if you don't mind:

I have a theory that Frankie (what I refer to her as) is a baby Star (she'd be like 100- or 200-years old give or take) that possessed the Moon Replacement body to fit in with us mortals and because she's like an infant in Star years, she herself can't fully talk yet so that's why she struggles to get anything out and could use others' voice boxes like Foxy's to speak better.

I feel like she would hyper fixate on Monster High like Earth does with Barbie and would like characters such as Frankie Stein, Astranova, Honey Swamp, Robecca Steam, Elle Eedee, Catty Noir, and Operetta.

Also, she would hyper fixate on Black Butler because I feel like she'd be into Victorian stuff as well.

I feel like she'd be into goth and Victorian fashion, which does correlate with your headcanon about her constantly being in the Moon palette.

Frankie probably fell in love with Ronty (what I call Ruined Monty. RIP to the boy who did no wrong) because he didn't see her as "creepy" like Sun and New Moon did and didn't mind being someone he could vent to.

She would know ASL due to the body she's possessing being programmed with it to help her communicate with deaf and/or mute children and adults.

Any game she plays from now on she's gonna spam the hell out of the chat features.

If she had a cell phone, she would constantly use emojis.

Wanted to put in that I've seen a lot of Frankie fanart with butterflies around her so I think she would have some kind of connection with them and can command them somewhat.

Cobalt Fuax'guard, a Eohmynk who serves under Eoh'Mina. He is the descendant of the first created champion. Dood is kinda of a moron but for the most part he does try to act smart even when he can't. (This guy is kinda a hybrid between Sporis-mynks, Eldahk-mynks, & Maokla-mynks, but is mainly Sporis & Eldahk-based) (Made/Owned by me)

Edith "Amoure" (Last name is gonna be replaced soon), the innkeeper in the story of Noirvillah, was a dragon priest long time ago but was raised in a pseudo-Namira/Dragon worshipping subgroup but became against it afterwards. (This OC was made by me but was for a frend of mine aka @stridesthroughashes) (Edith doesn't know what having 1 gender is like-)

Brynhild Oath-Bound aka "Valdis the Wanderer" was the 2nd & only successful champion of Eoh, usually is reborn during what is the current era but it's quite random on what year she is reborn in while that era is still the current one. But in this era (E4), she wishes she was born in a completely different time since she kinda has to go through a lot of trauma over the years, especially in the era she is in rn... (Btw funfact: The necklace that's on Edith was originally Brynhild's but it's possible on a walk Edith just found it on the floor & decided to wear it since to her, it looked pretty.) (Owned/Made by me)

CASE 01 [Blue Oak]

Background

Blue Oak was born in Pallet Town, Kanto. Most people he knows describe him as cocky, snarky, determined, and competitive, especially to his rival and friend. He currently lives with his older sister Daisy Oak in Pallet Town, near his grandfather, the well-known Professor Oak.

Path To Recovery

As much as the patient would like to keep whatever caused this a secret, he can't deny that his story has been well-known enough that there wouldn't be any point to leave out any details.

He states that this condition seemed to begin long before his well-known journey had begun. It's come to his attention that plenty of fans have been making their own theories about his journey, and he reluctantly confirms most of them to be true. From the moment he was born, he always seemed to grow in Red Phyre Sugimori's shadow. Despite his efforts and achievements, almost everyone around him seemed to prefer Red, who grew up with him, over Blue himself. Even his own sister, who he was pretty close to. He explained:

"I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but I just remember feeling my back hurt. Like, upper back. I thought nothing of it, just thought it was some back pain, but then more weeks passed and it just felt.. How am I supposed to explain painful, yet numb.. but like, normal at the same time-? Look, I genuinely don't know how to describe it."

He mentioned he had told Daisy about it, yet didn't get any results when they went to the doctor. He then ignored it. In the span of a year or two, his journey with Red, and eventually Leaf, had begun. Before he made his departure from Pallet, he suddenly saw some sort of sprout growing from his back when he looked at the mirror. He panicked and told his grandfather about it, yet his grandpa just brushed it off as one of his grandson's jokes, even when he insists it isn't. When he told Daisy, she told him there was nothing there, even touching his back to prove that there was no sprout or any kind of unusual lump. He decided to drop the subject.

The more time he spent on his journey, the more the sprout had grown upwards. Although, no one seemed to ever notice, even if it seemed like a bonsai had grown on top of his head. Finding out that nobody was able to see it and they wouldn't believe what he said, he just didn't try to ask for help anymore. What made him panic more was the fact that some flowers seemed to start growing on his head too. He mentioned he usually styles his spiky hairstyle a certain way so that he himself doesn't have to see them, although he usually tries to not look at himself in any reflective surface. These plants seemed to have a sudden growing speed at certain moments of his life.

Firstly was the death of his Raticate. He and Red had taken a break from their journey because of it, and it caused some sort of rift between their somewhat friendly-rivalry. The first tree seemed to have grown, along with another sprout that had started from his shoulder, which had grown rapidly during his break.

The next was losing to Red. The growth of the flowers and the first tree seemed to increase, somehow to the point he couldn't even hide them in his hair anymore. He had become the Champion of Kanto back when he was 10. Despite being the first trainer to receive this title at such a young age, he lost that title to his rival, Red, in the span of an hour. He explains that that moment had basically crushed him, and the fact that his grandfather showed up, only to say that he was disappointed and that he lost because he hadn't treated his Pokemon with trust and love, even though he already had, seemed to only crush him even more.

Due to the media seemingly not believing someone from the great Oak line would lose so quickly, he didn't show his face to the public as often as he usually did out of fear and embarrassment. That was until he got his position as Viridian City's gym leader.

Another one was the Mount Silver and disappearance incident. Blue had mentioned that, regretfully, he basically blew up at Red and Leaf when all they tried to do was check on how he was doing. In a few days, Red and Leaf had suddenly disappeared. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he was the reason why they had disappeared without warning. During this period, the second tree on his shoulder started to grow much faster than the other plants. This speed of growth then seemed to happen to the flowers and the first tree when he had started the first few days as the replacement for Viridian City's gym. This went on for another 4 years, until the three had been reunited.

At this point, the trees were getting bigger and the flowers had pretty much covered the top of his head. He explained that during that four year period and even after it, it was getting tough and tiring to do literally anything, even though he still felt like he could move freely. The pain was excruciating, yet somehow numb at the same time. He said that he has tried to cut off the flowers, since they were easier to dispose of than an actual tree, but they just seemed to appear back as if they were never cut. He then reluctantly admitted that when it got too overwhelming, he would [THIS SECTION HAS BEEN REDACTED DUE TO VIOLATION OF POLICY]. When asked, he mentioned that it wasn't the plants that usually overwhelmed him, it was everything and almost anybody around him.

One day, Red and Leaf seemed to have passed by and caught him crying in his gym when it was empty. He played it off like it was nothing [even desperately joking that he was possessed by a Gastly], but as the two insisted on him to tell them what had been wrong and bothering him, he broke down as they tried their best to comfort him. He hadn't told them anything yet, but made them promise that they wouldn't tell anyone about this. After a while, they all made sure to go back to Pallet Town together. The next few days, Red and Leaf visited Blue more, mostly just to try and keep him company. Blue, although preferring to stay alone during those moments, appreciates their efforts. After a few more months, he finally told them about some things that had been bothering him, yet made sure to stay vague in some specific parts. Red and Leaf didn't push at all and made sure to, once again, be there for him and comfort him to the best of their abilities.

In the next few months, he made more progress in his recovery. Eventually, he told his family members about everything that has been bothering him since he was young. First to Daisy, then to Professor Oak. It took a lot of effort and courage to do so, but he says that in a way, it all paid off. He says that it felt incredibly relieving to get it all out of his chest. His relationship with his family members got better, with Professor Oak being much more understanding towards his grandson. During this, he had mentioned that the plants felt like they were getting lighter and lighter. Eventually, the trees on his back and shoulder seemed to have withered and fallen off on his own, while the flowers atop his head had started to wither too. He claims that the only remains of the trees were just stumps awkwardly placed there. In a few more days, they seemed to have stopped growing, although some of their remains seem to stay on his body.

Comics Read 07/01-15/2023

A little over a year ago I did a post about reading two comic book biographies of Artemisia Gentileschi back-to-back. I wrote some lines about how the inclusion of them in my collection helps makes the act of collecting semi-autobiographical. Consider this a sequel to that post.

Over the two weeks I am writing about I read Glass Town written and drawn by Isabel Greenberg and The Brontës Infernal Angria written by Craig Hurd-McKenney and art by Rick Geary. Different takes on the same subject, how the Brontë children had a shared alternate universe which they all wrote stories about. I have owned a copy ofThe Juvenilia of Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë from when I was a child, but I never read it. I probably should. The names of Angria and Gondal were familiar from reading about the Brontës. But because of not actually reading the Juvenilia, I first encountered Glass Town by name in Die, where it was treated as a proto-multi-player role playing game. Which, seems fair enough. Die wasn’t much interested in the subject of their writings, so this is all new to me.

Greenberg’s art in Glass Town is crude in the same way ND Stevenson’s and Gus Allen art work is. If anything it’s more childlike and inconsistent. I don’t love it, but I like how the lines work the limited pallet with a lot of dark, cool reds. It hints at the early industrial feel of their time period as well as the harsh climate of their surroundings.

The narrative starts in the aftermath of the the eldest Brontë sisters, Elizabeth and Maria, deaths. The creation of Glass Town is an escape from the trauma of their final illnesses at a poorly kept boarding school.

Charlotte narrates her tale of Glass Town, to a minor character from her stories who appears as her imaginary friend. They talk through the plot she worked on, which as presented here seems more related to Wuthering Heights than Charlotte’s actual novels. The story includes how while the children started sharing Glass Town, they split with Charlotte and Bramwell writing about Angria while Emily and Anne created Gondor. (Less of Emily and Anne’s writing on Gondal survives to the modern day than Charlotte’s work on Angria, hence why less of it is included in either of these accounts.) Probably because of this shared fantasy world with her brother, Charlotte is shocked by his decent into alcoholism while Emily catches early warning signs. It’s a rumination on the building of escapist fantasy in the face of tragedy and the creation of art. I don’t think it entirely works, but it makes me want to get back to reading the Brontë’s and writing about them.

Infernal Angria takes the shared fantasy world and creates an actual portal fantasy. The Brontës literally go between worlds and get used in political machinations in an alternate world’s monarchy. I hated it. The text is something of an apologia for Bramwell for being such a failure. He didn’t really fail, he was manipulated by much more mature people from a world he loved. Also it takes the “artists don’t die, they live through their art” to the extreme of the Brontës didn’t all die at shockingly young ages, they relocated to the other side of a portal. It’s silly and also unclear. It shouldn’t be both. The end had the author talking about his long love of the Brontës as well as a suggested reading list. Everyone in a while you find someone who has some shared enthusiasms but seem to

At first glance, I would think that Geary’s art style is more my type than Greenbergs. But eventually I hated it because the shading was made with a crosshatching that got too easily confused with patents used for fabrics or wood grains. It’s the shorter of these two books and the one that felt more like a chore to read.

The contrasting treatments of the the worlds of Angria/Glass Town is pretty interesting. The character in both have essentially the same back story, but as presented in Infernal Angria I didn’t feel like the narrative came off as a rough draft of Wuthering Heights. Glass Town treats the alternate world as a reflection on contemporary colonialism, while Infernal Angria approaches it as a pastiche of Medieval fantasy. It makes me wish I had read the source material even more.

Despite finding these books lacking, there will be more comic book takes on the Brontës in my reading future.

BODY I used the Ellipse tool to make a circle then i used the Direct selection tool to Click on the bottom half of the circle then i Command + X to cut out the bottom half of the circle then i used shift + option + V to paste to back the i pressed V the to get selection tool the click and held the bottom half of the circle then I drag it down. after that i used the join tool command + J by clicking on the top and bottom half of the circle then joined then together. Nose and arm I used The Rectangle tool for the nose the click A for the Direct section and when you click o the nose you will see a little circle which then you click and hold and drag to make the corners curve. i then made his arm with the pen tool using curve points Tail and Hair for the tail and hair i used the pen tool then pressed the plus on the keyboard this allows you to add anchor points add them to the top of your penguin where you want the hair and to the bottom of the penguin where you want the tail. once you do this it allows you to click and drag out the anchor allowing you to make the hair and tail Eyes for the eyes you use the ellipse tool and make one eye once you do that click on the eye and click gradient tool when thats done you want to go to colour pallet and click and drag a colour onto the gradient bar once thats done you can mess around and make the eye look how you want it too look. You then can add to white circles into the eye to make them look better if you like using the ellipse tool.

Movement: Fashion week 2 29/01. Continuation of colour line ups

I continued my colour line ups, trying out more colour palletes. I tried to keep away from a nature based colour pallete, so I could be more experimental with the colour.

I decided to experiment with the colour ratios of the outfits, so I could be more creative with how i used colour in my designs.

I didn't like the yellow and purple colour palletes, so I decided not to do the full colour pallete to save on time.

Hey I was wondering do you think art style theft is a this tbh I see other artists arguing about it but I don't understand and was just curious about your opinion mostly because your an artist

i don't think it's a thing, because nobody really owns an artstyle, it's just the way that someone draws. also, i believe that the only person who can replicate an artstyle with 100% accuracy is the artist themselves - say if i tried to draw the powerpuff girls in that style, unless i traced it over, it would never really be the same as how craig mccracken would draw the characters because i didn't make them.

however heavily referencing/being heavily inspired by an artist is real, and different artists might react differently to having their art be heavily referenced. for me idrm unless you're tracing over my art or copying my ideas (different to being heavily inspired, what i mean is just purposefully copying everything i draw, with exact same composition, extremely similar design and color pallete, etc, without credit. like if somebody who saw nova beforehand drew their own white haired, tan skinned bunny girl with a pink streak in her hair and a black jacket with "01" on the sleeve and a pink skirt with black shorts underneath, and claimed that it wasn't directly inspired by her, i'd be weirded out at best). to me it's kinda like "pose theft" - not really an issue so long as it's not traced - but also different as you can't own poses while you can own a design. hope that helps!

In today’s session, we worked with paint and colour again. When selecting a colour palette to work with, we took an art book at random from the library and chose a painting that we liked. We then took three colours from that painting and recreated these colours on a paint palette and then in larger quantities in pots. I chose Claude Monet’s Waterloo Bridge, Sun in Fog, 1903 which had a beautiful blue, green and orange colour palette.

We were reminded that when we are looking at the composition, we should always think about the feeling of what’s within the composition. When we look at different materials and surfaces, we are subconsciously assessing how they feel from experience. Also, another thing to keep in mind is the difference between drawing and painting. When painting, we are focussing more on area. Aldous encouraged us to fill the page with colour, not focussing too heavily on the subject but on everything around the subject because that’s just as important when capturing a scene.

I did 5 pieces today. The first two were done in 9 minutes and were picked up for another 9 minutes after we had looked at one another's work. Aldous encouraged us to use a range of applications whilst working with the paint, so I began to paint with sticks, sponges and pallet knives. I really enjoyed using he sponge because it blended the paint so effortlessly and smoothly. The pallet knives and sticks were fun to use as they take away the control you have and make up many little details in just one stroke. Throughout the day, it soon felt natural to go between utensils rather than getting stuck on one way of working. I felt the range of strokes brought a lot of energy and depth to the paintings and made each one very different from the last.

It had been many days since you had received an assignment as a hunter. At this point you would have taken a request to open a pickle jar. You had an agent who sourced your jobs through to you that way no one could know your identity. Your agent barely knows your identity outside of your phone number. While you are no where near as infamous as the Zoldyck Family- you definitely are not unknown. “The Creator” is what most people would refer to you as- quite fitting for your ability. Specialists are not as scarce as people make them out to be; a specialist who utilizes their ability as best as they can is scarce. You conjure a pencil, and you can draw anything into existence. Your nen concentrates in your hand and you can create life (or at least a husk of life). Drawing animals or weapons, even humans (who aren’t quite sentient) earned you your high respect as a hunter.

You gaze out of the window at the quiet streets of a city you’ve never travelled to. While the hotel is large and towers over the town, it is probably the biggest building for miles. Bzzzz. You turn towards your bed and see your phone screen is lit up. Picking up the phone you see a single message from the only saved number on your phone. York New. 14:00. 1278 Pearl Street. G Watanabe- Room 207. You scroll down to see the status of the person. Alive. Wanted Dead. 7 Days. Employer ---

A smile graced your lips knowing that you finally have a job. While town hopping and sight seeing for the past few weeks was a nice rst, you can’t just halt your income. You enjoy your job anyway so the money is a bonus. Ill pack in the morning you think to yourself, once you land in York New you may have some extra time to research your target.

The plane ride was smooth and quite comforting- you paid for first class. While you could use your hunter card to be priority seating, it leaves a trace of where you’ve been. Plus, you’ll be getting paid soon enough and the 12 hour plane ride in first class would be nothing compared to the fat check that would be wired to your account. Murder is expensive you know.

Stepping out of the taxi, the driver gets out and opens the trunk for you. You grab your one small backpack filled with nothing but snacks- drawn snacks are not particularly tasty. Just because you can create it doesn’t mean it’s true to the real deal. You jog towards the doors, fat rain drops assaulting you meanwhile. You get your room key under for the room you reserved under an alias and make your way to the elevator. You press the button to go up and when the elevator reaches your floor it sounds a satisfying ‘ding’ and the doors open almost soundlessly. You stepped into the confined space and to your surprise a man steps in with you. You hadn’t even sensed him nearby, it seemed as if he just popped into reality.

He’s tall, is the first thing you think when you look at him. Not necessarily tall as in feet wise (though he definitely had quite a few inches on you) but his aura and the way he carried himself made it seem as if he towered you. The corner of his lips turn upwards and suddenly he doesn’t seem so intimidating. It’s as if he was dragged back down to earth.

“Good morning, awful weather it seems.” The man says with a chuckle. You take a moment to drink in all of him. His black hair is somewhat messy, a middle part with water dripping down a few strands. A bandage is wrapped around his forehead and you wonder if it’s an injury or a fashion statement. A large fur coat cover most of his body, you’re only able to capture a glimpse of a white button up shirt at his neck.

“Terrible. My flight almost had an emergency landing.” You groan, recalling your annoyance when the captain announced this over the speakers.

“Ah so you just got in today? I got into York New about a week ago. What are you here for?”

Your eyes travel to his and you notice that they’re unusually large while seeming to only make him more attractive. “I’m on a work trip, though I shouldn’t be here long.” His lips stretch a little further into something of a grin, “What a coincidence, I’m here on business as well.”

The elevator dings and you give a quick goodbye, not necessarily because you didn’t like talking to him but because you wanted to take a nice warm shower. You sashay out of the elevator, and the back of your neck tingles, you can tell that his eyes are boring into your back.

You drop your bag onto your bed and wander over to the mirror. Looking at you in the mirror is yourself. Though you never seem to recognize this person as you. You pose in different angles but can’t find one that makes you like yourself. You grab the chub of your stomach and groan hopelessly. A world renown hunter who has killed the unkillable is staring at herself in the mirror and grimacing. You remind yourself that you’re one of the strongest specialists out there and you shouldn’t be critiquing yourself.

A day passed and your deadline is growing nearer. You draw your outfit for the day, and put on the jeans, hoodie, and heels that were super comfortable thanks to your nen. An assassin has to look good as well as kill. Your rented car waits for you in the hotel garage and when you finally make your way down there, you do a onceover of the car. There are no signs of foul play, tracking, or marking so you hop into the drivers seat comfortably. Once the car is started your phone buzzes.

You nod to yourself, you had completely forgotten about the auction. Of course you were supposed to kill a member of the mafia during the auction. How could you not have made that connection. While you are intelligent, you wouldn’t say you’re smart. Once you arrive at the hotel your target is staying at, you book a room despite the fact you will not be using it for long. In the hotel room you draw a dress that makes you look like a model, all you need is to look good and your nen for this mission, this goes for most missions.

Each minute on the clock seems to last hours, you need to leave at 01:30, in order to complete your mission at 2. This is the part you hate the most, laying on the hotel bed listening to the clock tick and tick and tick. It feels almost like the clock is mocking you, and sometimes you want to just break it. Though despite this you lay on the bed staring at the ceiling, counting down every minute until the clock strikes 1:30.

The last mocking tick sound rings and you get up quickly. Walking confidently out of the room and down the large and foolishly elegant hall. You make your way to the elevators where you had a run in with that man and go down to the second floor seeing as you were residing on the fourteenth. The second floor was reserved for the mafia only, many families used this hotel to be near the auction.

The elevator opens up and you examine the hall. It is much different than the one where your room is. Lights are dimmer and the color pallet of the hall was that of red and black where as yours was blue and white. You step out onto the marble floors and your heels click against the cold surface. Something’s not right. Something is very wrong, very out of place. You can smell it. The smell of blood.

207 is closer to the end of the hallway than it is to the elevators. The lights are completely off at the end of the hallway as well. With each step towards the room of your target the lights get dimmer until there is no light. You halt and look at the room with gold numbers on it stating ‘207′. The door is cracked and you approach it cautiously. You push the door open and see your target laying on the ground in hundreds of pieces, it’s a bloody mess.

A man stands in front of the window that is the entire wall, his form dark. Now the only sound present is that of the rain pounding against the glass of the window. He turns towards you, and you quickly recognize the large fur jacket. It’s the man from the elevator, his coat is open and he’s shirtless, but covered in blood. His forehead is uncovered by the bandage that was on him previously, revealing a purple cross. His demeanor is still friendly and inviting but something is different about his eyes.

He smiles and for some reason you feel drawn to him, so you take a step forward. “I’ve been waiting y/n.”

You swallow any sense of fear you have and nod, “Oh you have?”

“Of course, I thought I would make your job easier for you.” He chuckles just like he did in the elevator, as if he didn’t just commit an atrocity. But who are you to judge? “Don’t worry, I’ll still be paying you every jenny of what was promised.”

Your head cocks to the side “So you’re my client?” He nods in response.

“And I got his pass to the auction so I would say you did a pretty good job of completing your mission.” He waves the pass at you as proof.

“Can I have the pleasure of knowing your name since you know mine?” You question.

He nods again, “Chrollo is my name. You were commissioned by the spiders.”

The spiders... It quickly clicks in your head. The phantom troupe. Which means, in front of you stands the leader of the Phantom Troupe.

“It’s nice to meet you Chrollo.”
