Timothy is a Goliath Beetle, who randomly appeared in the neighborhood one day. No one really knows where he comes from or why he moved here, but... he is a friendly fella, so don't worry!

He loves to participate in Julies games, helps Sally with her plays, assists Poppy in the kitchen or carries Wally's easel whenever he wants to paint in nature. Most times you can find him looming over his neighbors and... I-I mean... helping his neighbors! Haha...

Due to his height, he is a great help carrying stuff or reaching for the cookie jar on top of the shelf.

Okay... maybe Timothy is a Tarantula, creeping around the neighborhood and waiting for the perfect opportunity to let his dear neighbors "disappear"...

Did you know the limbs of a spider can grow back? Timothy makes sure to "get rid" of two of his arms whenever they start to grow back, so he maintains his beetle-like appearance. He also likes to wear fake antennas on a cheap hairband.

You don't believe Frank would ever fall for some fake antennas, do you?

No of course not! Frank is well aware of Timothy's intentions and both are highly suspicious of each other.

Howdy also sees right through Timothy and tries to keep his neighbors safe. Timothy does his best to avoid Howdy... he is a bit intimidated by that caterpillar...

Eddie as well as Poppy are oblivious to Timothy being a Tarantula. They even maintain somewhat of a friendship with Timothy... though Eddie wonders why Frank seems to dislike their new friend...

Wally, Julie and Sally are also oblivious. They enjoy spending time with their new neighbor, not realizing that Timothy sees them more as a snack than friends...

Barnaby and Home aren't quite sure what to think of Timothy. That new neighbor seems to avoid them both as best as he can. It's probably because of his fear of dogs... but why does he also avoid Home and averts direct eye contact...?

Working on finishing up a cloak for a cosplay while Nugget was out. She thinks she needs to steal my fleece.

#Doodles #Spider #Nhandu Chromatus #Tala #Vent #TW animal death #I haven't had a pet all of my own since I was very small - about Tala's age - and this was the first one that I was 100% responsible for #Bought and fed and cleaned and made their enclosure - everything mine for the first time #So it's also the hardest I've ever taken a pet death - at least in the past two decades so it might as well be forever haha #I was blaming myself pretty hard the day I found them - I'd been away for a couple days and when I finally checked they were gone #Gave me the kind of vibe of someone who's so alone that no one finds their body until [x reason] - as if no one cared enough to look #But mostly I felt bad because it looked like they had attempted a molt but hadn't even flipped over #Like they'd just given up - like they knew that it wasn't even worth putting in the effort #I think now that I've looked it up I know what happened - spiders get a lot of their fluid intake from their prey #And because they'd been in premolt they'd been refusing food - and while I spritz their enclosure it's not a very reliable water source #I'd been wanting to wait until they were a bit bigger before I put in a water dish because I was very paranoid about them drowning #I'd heard horror stories of people waking up to their Ts submerged as if they'd fallen in and couldn't pull themselves back out #I hadn't considered that the opposite was even a possibility - that was my mistake and I feel guilty about it #But it is at least the minorest of comforts to know it wasn't a lack of space to molt - maybe - that killed them #I still want to ask seasoned spider people but it hurts to think about telling them what happened #It didn't feel real at first. It took a while for it to sink in and the entire time I just kept waiting for them to move again #I really didn't want the first time holding them to be to bury them #I could think selfishly and hope that they were a male after all - that they wouldn't've had very long #But they should've been here for years #I really wanted to do better by them #In some ways it feels silly to cry so much over a spider haha but I really wanted to do right by them and to not be able to...

my jumper is in the process of going into its first molt since its been in my care (itll be its 5th or 6th one in its lifetime) and im actually so fuckin nerve wracked !

Gurkle actually perked up a bit after I unlatched the top (he DID tuck in a bit like always but he didnt stay like that for long) so I cooed at him for a bit, especially since he was looking right at me sgdgdggd told him he was so cute, how big he's gotten, how good he looks. Then ventured to stick my finger in the tank like 👀 are we good or are you just not tucked in bc my hand isn't in the tank yet?

Yeah it was the latter sgdggdgd so I just went on and changed the food bowls and I had ducked my head a bit bc i had to search for the container of mixed seeds (hemp, chia, flax) and he was fully out and even wiggling his antennae! Then I popped back up and he tucked himself into his shell so fast that he fell over 😭

You think after 7 almost 8 years he'd be used to me by now sggdgdgd we have a "look but dont touch" relationship I guess

i think everyone should have a moment of disillusion with a creator they really like. not because of anything really wrong they do but just. an interaction that doesn’t go the way you think it will, a response from them that you don’t understand. a moment where you want to communicate something to them and they don’t hear it. it’s good for the soul.

#sometimes me and funk get into fights. for instance. when he had poop on his tail and refuses to clean it or even get near the water but he #wants to keep jumping onto my shoulders and the top of my head and so I have to hold him like I’m going to clip his nails so he starts freak #ing out bc yknow. holding him. and he bit me. a lot. but I did get to get a qtip with a little bit of water and wash the poop off his tail #and put him back in the cage and give him a treat for sitting through it #he relaxed once he realized what was happening but when I first had to pick him up he was pisssseeds #but it’s fine #I think some time out time apart will be good for both of us #🪩 #I also want to shower now bc I feel like there’s bird poop on my shoulders even tho I know I don’t #wahhhh I hate having a bird sometimes I feel like such a fuck up failure bird parent like I’m so bad at this and I should be better at train #ing him but he is molting and we have still made big strides and he is playing way more and he lets me clip his nails and we spend so much #time together he’s like my little man I love him so much he’s my little guy

i think juniper having the roughest molt of his life actually resulted in him finally having a normal tail, which is all i've ever wanted in life

#Spider #I swear once I name them they'll get their own tag #I am quite pleased tho! Small crickets are very good for growing spiders #So now I have good supplements to their diet ♪ Very happy #They're a bunch of polite lads too - easy to feed and transferred into my little prey enclosure very nicely #And they don't chirp so they won't be keeping us up all night lol #Also more on baby - let's be honest I'll be calling them that At Least until their next molt lol - they're very industrious! #Apparently part of the reason they were so keen to explore was to get a good lay of the land - appraise the area - so they could change it #So far they've dug out to the bottom of the container and out the opposite side of their hide so you can see all the way through the bottom #And one side - just full windows!
