Do you have any good DCxDP fic recs?
OMG, DO I?!
I just wanted to let you know that I only read fics on Ao3 now, so all my recs on on that website.
Below the read-more are the links and the fics summaries, and in the parentheses are, in my own words, what the fic is about.
A Second Life by Die_Erlkonigin6083
Summary: He wakes up with no memories. He knows things, but he doesn’t know why. Who is he? And how did he get here?
(Danny wakes up without memories and is found in a CANVAS lab. He is de-age, with various DNA mixed into him. The majority of his DNA donor? Dick Grayson. Naturally, Dick takes Danny in as his son)
2. The Curse of Sight by PorcelanaRota
Summary: When Wes Weston meets Tim Drake-Wayne, the dots start connecting. And those dots form a Bat.
(Wes Weston (a fandom-made character who is the only person that realizes Danny and Phantom are the same people.) goes to Gotham to spend the summer with his mom. He ends up as a Wayne Intern, meets Tim, and clocks him for the bat he is on sight. It's a Wes/Tim fic!)
3. The Misadventures of Cosplay Man by Shynnohwen
Summary: After accidentally getting launched through a natural rift and stuck in an alternate universe, Danny decides to help the local heroes while waiting to get picked up. But he doesn’t do it as Phantom or Fenton, oh no. He doesn’t want either of his identities to get mixed up in all this nonsense and traced back to him. So what does he do? Crappy cosplay.
(Danny gets stranded in an alternate universe, so he chooses to have fun and save local heroes as cosplay versions of them. He goes out of his way to make the cosplay as terrible as possible. Each hero he saves makes different terrible conclusions based on the worrying stuff he says. They all want to adopt him)
4. The curious case of D. Grayson by brothebro
Summary: Dick Grayson gets a job in Wayne Industries as an electrical engineer, or so is the word. Except it's not Dick who gets the job but Danny Grayson, half ghost and professional disaster. Of course, because nothing is ever easy for Danny, the world mistakes him for the prolific first child of Bruce Wayne and therefore rumors start Dick Grayson got married in secret.
What could possibly go wrong, am I right?
(Danny, Sam, and Tucker are married and move to Gotham to escape the GIW. Danny changes his name from Fenton to his biological name before his adoption- Grayson. He looks exactly like Dick, too. So many people see him out and about, thinking he's Dick. Misunderstandings ensure)
5. those who serve. by aryelee
Summary: Running away from Amity Park—from his entire dimension—Danny takes refuge in the streets of Gotham. It's hard, suddenly being a homeless teenager in such a crime-ridden city, but it's better than dying a second time.
Enter Alfred Pennyworth, a kind old man who works as a butler and, for some reason, has decided to befriend Danny.
His future is still up in the air, but he's hopeful that things will work out. After all, Alfred isn't getting any younger and someone needs to help him with his butler duties. Danny's just the right person for the job.
Or: Alfred Pennyworth sees a homeless teen who looks like he'd fit right into the Wayne family and decides to take matters into his own hands. It's not like he's just going to leave this very sad, possibly meta teenager alone when there's more than enough space in the Manor to house one more child in need.
( Basically, homeless Danny, with no other options, saves Alfred from a mugging. Alfred repays him by offering him a place in Wayne Manor- but Danny doesn't want to be a Wayne. He wants to be an Alfred- so he becomes Alfred's butler apprentice )
6. Wait, I'm a what? by Atiya_Blackcharm
Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived) messing with the residents who lived in the area. He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.
(Danny lands in Gotham and sets out to help his new neighborhood. Unknown to him, he does it in a manner that makes everyone think he's a new crime boss. He just isn't aware they think he is one)

For the WIP game:
Who is getting married??? (also who are they marrying) and i'm curious to know if this person's future spouse is aware their s/o has been ghosting their entire family so well they think the s/o is actually dead
an excellent question!
short answer: bernard dowd and tim drake (and later conner kent) from DC comics, and not until all three meet up
long answer:
so the first thing you need to know about this fic is that it's the timberkon stardust au, so it takes place in a sort of nebulous regency/fantasy era (like princess bride or eragon or...got maybe? idk I haven't seen it)
anyway in stardust one of the first scenes in the movie is the MC confessing his love to a pretty girl from his village and her saying that she'll marry him if he manages to bring her the shooting star that fell to the ground on the other side of the wall surrounding the village that no one is allowed past. she says he has a week. he accepts.
anyway long story short the star is actually a woman and the MC ends up falling in love with her over the course of the movie.
(a lot of other things happen too but they aren't relevant to this ask)
anyway in this story I give the person playing the part of pretty village girl (Tim Drake) an altered backstory
so instead of pretty village girl having always lived in the village and never leaving it, in this au Tim appears mysteriously a few years before the story starts. He stumbles into town one day, clearly injured and wearing strange clothing, slightly smoking, and collapses in the town square.
(what an entrance)
anyway the village midwife (it's a small village so she's the closest thing they have to a doctor) takes him in and takes care of him
(bernard sneaks in to peer at the mysterious stranger, and his face is the first thing tim sees when he wakes up, and they stare at each other for a long moment before the midwife chases him out)
tim doesn't really remember how he got to this planet? time period? alternate universe? so he follows his tracks back to wherever he was before he found the village
good news: there's a machine that's probably responsible for his situation!
bad news: it's broken and he has no idea what it's supposed to do
so he goes back to the village and just barely ever talks about his life before he came to the village. some of the villagers think he's lost his memories from before he arrived. some of them think he's been living in the woods his whole life. some of them think he's a cryptid.
(bernard enjoys coming up with increasingly wild conspiracy theories about tim's origins. tim enjoys listening to bernard talk and occasionally pokes holes in his theories.)
the midwife takes him on as her apprentice bc he has some scant knowledge of their "modern" medicine, and he hangs out with bernard or he works on the machine during his free time. that's definitely an "or" though bc he doesn't let anyone from the village see the machine bc he doesn't want to accidentally mess with the timeline, so it has to be a secret.
(this is red robin era tim so he's at arguably his lowest mentally and also mostly isolated from his family, so he's dragging his heels a bit, unsure if he's welcome back or if he should just accept that their ties have been severed/his job is over)
but when bernard proposes, well.
the batfam (and yj core four) are the closest thing that Tim has to family left, so he wants them to at least know the wedding is happening even if none of them end up coming
so when bernard offers to go get the star that fell to earth, Tim jumps on that idea and encourages him to go for it (though assures him that Tim will still marry him even if he comes back empty handed)
so as soon as bernard leaves to cross the wall and go on an adventure to get the star (kon) and bring him back to meet tim, Tim sprints to the wreckage of the machine and spends three sleepless nights fixing it enough to get a message through
back on earth, everyone thinks tim is dead (maybe he disappeared after falling out the window during the battle with ras? maybe while he was in the unternet? maybe during the zod kidnapping thing? idk) so they are very surprised when an invitation to his engagement appears in the middle of the batcave during a briefing
they then drop everything and spend like five days pinpointing Tim's location and finding a way to get there
(tim: *surprised pikachu face* you actually came?)
(batfam + bart and cassie, dressed like they're about to storm a castle jic tim needs rescuing and the engagement invitation was an SOS: obviously???)
(tim, trying not to cry: would you like to meet my fiances)
(batfam + bart and cassie: absolutely! wait, fiances, plural?)
(tim: oh yeah, a couple things have changed since i sent that invitation. this is bernard, and you remember kon right?)
(batfam + bart and cassie: CONNER???)
(yeah sorry this got very long)

Creepypastas headcanons that hurt me
Jeff:
Even though he's an asshole and a jackass, he never bullies anyone to the extent of actually hurting someone's feelings, Sense he knows what it feels to be bullied
Had diagnosed ADHD but his parents (especially his dad) never took him to get proper help and left him untreated.
Always pretended to not care about his brother liu but he actually misses him a lot and sometimes even feels bad for killing him sense liu was the one to always make him feel better when he was bullied and never judged him when his face got messed up
When he knew liu was alive and now lived in the underworld, he acted like it was no big deal but he desperately wanted to look for him, but at the same time he didn't want to see him sense he didn't even know what to say.
When he finally saw liu, at first he was just in shock. He NEVER cries. He's been through a lot (physically and mentally) but he had never cried, but seeing his brother again, immediately broke him down.
Smile is kinda like his emotional support pet.
He hasn't cried but when he feels bad, he just hugs smile for literally hours.
Ben:
Has a huge fear of water.
Some of the pastas have wanted to make pool parties before but usually slender doesn't let it happen sense he knows ben would be left out and wouldn't be able to enjoy anything
He has tried to overcome but always gets really bad panic attacks
His panic attacks are worse when he doesn't mentally prepare himself for something.
When his panic attacks are really bad he feels like he can't breathe and it worsens the attack even more sense it reminds him of when he was drowning. He shakes a lot and sometimes just sobs and cries loudly while covering himself with his hands.
Jeff is his best friend, and he usually hugs him when his attacks are bad
The best way to calm him down is by physical contact. So holding him close and reassuring him that he's ok, helps him a lot.
Toby:
He hangs out with the girls (sherry, nina, clockwork, jane, amelie, amari, sally) because he feels like they remind him of his sister.
I feel like his sister would do his hair into tiny baby ponytails when they were younger, so he's happy when sally does that too
Sense masky is the oldest there, he kinda sees him as an older brother. Which is why he's always messing with him and annoying him, sense he misses being a little brother
He's actually really mature but refuses to act as it. He feels like he lost his childhood and could never enjoy it. He became more happy living with the pastas sense he feels like they're a family, so now that he's happier, he wants to enjoy it
Sense jane is the most mature and has more of a motherly feeling, he has accidentally called her "mom" before
Masky/tim:
He's the oldest out of everyone, and has been around with slenderman before slender started taking in apprentices. But when slender started training future proxies, it was his job to train them too sense he was the first ever proxy (along with hoodie/brian) and had more experience. He had grown to care for many apprentices sense he liked seeing them really determined to become great proxies. But what many didn't know, was that at becoming a proxy, it came with a lot of responsibilities and even risking your life. Some of the apprentices became proxies, but were soon killed by zalgoids or kidnapped (the zalgo war was active). So masky has seen many deaths.
He was used to death sense his job is literally killing along with other things but, seeing people from his own crew be killed or kidnapped and to never be found again, really devastated him
Even though he rarely admits it, hoodie/brian and toby keep him sane.
Even though he gets really annoyed with toby's pranks or actions, he still cares for him and reminds him of the more simple things in life, including hoodie/brian
He's actually kinda insecure about his age (i imagine him being around his 30's)
He actually loves the idea of finding someone, getting married, and have a family, but he usually avoids relationships sense usually many girls turn him down for being "too old"
Nina:
She has huge abandonment issues and always looks for praise
Even though he just seemed like a crazy fangirl to jeff. She actually seeked validation and love from him in order to feel better abour herself
She has moved on from her obsession for jeff but it's hard for her to find someone without obsessing for them too
Sherry:
Ever sense she was sexually abused when she was younger, it's been really hard for her to trust anyone and have a proper sexual life, sense she always feels in danger and feels like she's going to be hurt
When something happens or when she's going through a lot of pain (physically and emotionally) and cries, the first thing she says is "i want my mom!" or "i wish my mom was here.."
She has nothing against religion and respects all religions but she hated her own catholic religion sense her family would always shame her and push her to do things she didn't want to do just because she "needed to please god"
Has a huge sense of justice and always makes it her job. Even though she works as a proxy and has to kill people, she would never kill animals or children

Lol. Diff anon here but thinking about stray tim... While there is appeal for catty tim, I never could get around to him ever being Selina's apprentice. The logic behind it is just so weak it's practically non existent. Like, this is Tim who wants to do the right thing and maybe be a hero. Tim who risks himself to help Batman stay safe. Who idolizes Robin, the hero equal to Batman himself to every child and citizen. Him risking himself and stealing is just no. Even if it was a robin hood type of stealing it's still fails as a reason. Stray would fit Jason better than Tim ever would. It just doesn't make sense at all for Tim to be Stray. Even if Selina took him in, she'd just help him hide himself better probably, breaking in lessons would be given but never used for stealing. Maybe he could be the oracle to her escapades but probably only for stolen art to be returned to their rightful owners. And he can do that without being stray. The thrill of breaking in won't be the same as that sense of relief in solving a case and saving a life.
GO 👏 OFF 👏 ANON 👏
i agree tho. like first of all I think a lot of people who explore this idea are going with the ‘Tim was a child alone in the city following Batman & Robin for extended periods of time’ idea as a way Selina could have seen him out and about and taken him in, which, while it can be a fun concept to play with, is... not what actually happened. (He followed Bruce with a camera ONCE to get a picture to show Dick. the rest of his research and figuring out who Batman & Robin were was through news articles and tv) and like I genuinely have no idea what any other logic for her ending up with him could really be? so I think that’s the first thing that kinda takes me out of it
but then yeah what you said, Tim especially early on is so dedicated to his ideals, and to helping. The whole reason he approaches Dick about going back to being Robin is because he’s worried that Batman can’t function alone and thus can’t effectively do his job and keep Gotham safe! That is his priority even when he’s a kid who hasn’t fully jumped into the vigilante world outside of being an avid reader about it.
Like a Robin Hood angle is definitely the only way I could see Stray making any sense with him, because in general as vigilantes no matter what they are already working outside the law so that has some overlap there, but I agree there’s still just gaps that make it not... fully make sense for him without DRASTICALLY altering his motivations as a character (which I mean it is an au so people can go off and change all that if they want to, but generally for something like this I’d personally want to keep the same core characteristics  unchanged and more look at how small changes in plot could lead to a different circumstance)
at the end of the day, Tim is so dedicated to being a hero and doing what’s right. Like sometimes it does involve going against laws and stuff (I mean hello, that’s just part of being a vigilante), but even with the like ‘evil’ Future Tims that we’ve seen, his morals got twisted up along the way but he’s still trying to do what he thinks is right (it’s just. crossing the lines he would never in his right mind cross, hence why those are bad futures).
I definitely agree though that Jason’s a better fit because like, A) it could make sense how he and Selina met since he was living on the streets of Gotham for a while, B) I think she could definitely see a lot of herself in him and would think he was the cutest scrappy little thing, hell i’m imagining even if she saw him try to steal the tires off the Batmobile and got a kick out of it and swiped him up before Bruce got back to the car, and C) while he would want to protect the innocent and generally do things that are right, I can definitely see him not shying away from some of the more self-centered motivations (like stealing stuff more for fun/himself sometimes)
