okay that was awful, someone just stole my ask and sent a poem when i was asleep????😭 idk if it is good, i wrote it </3 (it is inspired by how i grew up but not entirely)
To Children Married to Houses (part 1)
the light obscures what the darkness demands.
the sight, a glamorous invitation,
the slight marrs the foundations of the house.
the house has a curse that haunts every house
if the family allows it to fester.
the family has invented nothing new,
history trails behind but history.
there is no name plate out a well-known house
it owns its space with a proud, defiled face.
a new someone is lured by true pretence,
nothing has ever been wrong in the house.
it is a story for a child to sleep,
the horrors, familiar and regular.
the house has eyes and walls and stairs and stares,
yellow decay, highlighted by the red.
the glass door has a crack that is covered,
gods reside in every corner, eyes closed.
there's a black and white marble pillar
bit off centre to oversee your sins.
children can't etch their words, they stick them on.
prayers echo over all that's hollow.
the rooms are heavy with weightless children,
some do weigh but it is never enough.
more stairs, more stares, more unused, unclean stairs.
less wears, more tears, more wares, less tears. no tares.
a house encompasses a caving world,
it shrinks as you grow, you shrink as you go.
no land is clean of the dust it creates,
no stone unweathered, uneroded.
what is natural is also blameless.
there is a designated room for gods,
a shrine beside an extra empty bed.
they locked in there a faithless little girl
who passed her time conversing with idols.

Mike's Media Medley--April 2024
henlo and welcome to my monthly diary review thing where i talk about movies/shows/games i experienced for the first time this month. there are a lot of things i watch/play throughout the year that i really like but don't ever get the opportunity to talk about due to the restrictions of my 7 game/7 movie restrictions on my end of year list + the fact i limit movies to 2024 releases. this list encompasses movies and games from any time period that i watched or played for the first time ever this month.
feel free to reply to this post with things you think i should watch or play!
here are some things i watched and played for the very first time this april:
2024 movie/show releases: Monkey Man, Civil War, Abigail, Fallout
non-2024 movie/show releases: Alien (1979), My Octopus Teacher (2020), The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (2023)
games: fallout 3 (2008), the battle of polytopia (2016), let's build a zoo (2021), mineko's night market (2022)
my thoughts on all of them below, in alphabetical order--movies/shows first, then games:
Abigail (2024)
Tumblr media
this movie was honestly pretty fun. enjoyed it more than i was expecting tbh, i used my membership tuesday price on this cuz i did not feel like paying full price for a ticket to see this. kind of thought it would be just dumb "ooh evil kid" shock horror
and like. don't get me wrong it is definitely ooh evil kid horror but the twist is given relatively early with only minor padding for a bigger twist later. thought it was decently funny and it works well enough as a singular movie but i don't see it warranting a sequel which the ending might be building up to. and though it was fun everything was like. Fine. directing was fine. acting was fine. music was fine. probably would not see it again but did not hate my decision watch it
60/100
Alien (1979)
Tumblr media
YES this is really my first time seeing Alien, i am pretty unfamiliar with basically everything about Alien, nothing i say will probably be new
first off the sound was like. really quiet? and idk if it's because my theater had the volume too low or if that's the way it was mixed--it is an old movie after all--but i couldn't hear a lot of the dialogue and i feel like it would've boosted my enjoyment of the movie a lil more but i did really like it
specifically the art direction and set design. the alien planet and the ship, the fossilized skeleton on that big chair all with this really distinct weird black mechanical look that is also like. weirdly alive. and how that extends to the nostromo having parts of it as the movie progresses that looks like the alien. biomechanical is i think the word for it? its awesome. epic, even. makes u paranoid
big fan of the directing as well. very claustrophobic at some scenes. the refusal to show you the alien in full for a while. reaction shots instead of direct sight of the gore and horror (the cat when the janitor dies, ripley hearing parker and lambert die as she runs)
the thing that detracts from the movie for me is the sexual violence undertones. just simply not a fan
p good, might need to rewatch with subtitles to appreciate a bit more once i understand the actual plot lmfao. also this movie is very sweaty just like love lies bleeding. maybe i like sweaty movies. 80/100
(more under the cut)
Civil War (2024)
Tumblr media
this movie was not very good
i was not going to see it and then i heard that it was less a typical war movie from the perspective and soldiers and shit that it was more about war correspondence and that piqued my interest as someone who used to want to be a journalist. turns out it's not even that much about war correspondence either. the main characters are war photographers but it all feels like. pretty surface level?
not to mention i understand the intent of keeping the politics of a theoretical civil war part 2 vague so as to not actually incite any specific kind of rage or controversy from either side but like. its a civil war movie. about war correspondence and photography.
the emotional hook of the movie just does nawt work for me. the young photographer lady is incredibly dumb. why does she do the things she does. why does she jump between the cars like that when she's so obsessed with the main lady. i had other gripes with her but i dont even remember all of them because this movie is already a distant memory. the bonding between them does nothing for me and just feels really forced and corny.
that being said there are some nice shots in this movie. it's well-directed but the sound design is really fucking carrying. all of the gunshots are LOUD and impactful and i think that really helps with the conflict where the wishy washy centrist politics fail.
30/100. not the worst movie ive ever seen but i would not watch it again.
Fallout (2024)
Tumblr media
yeah yeah the show is really good. acting is good all across the board. was fun seeing the fun references / easter eggs to fallout. i was particularly interested in norm's side of the plot and lucy was a really refreshing protagonist. i think maximus was the weakest of the main plotlines but i'm hoping they go somewhere with his darker side because while i think it was the weakest i think he has the most potential
like lucy and the ghoul are pretty squarely set on their own sides with their own clear morals (or karma, good and evil) but maximus is someone who wants to be a good person but is often just. not good at being a good person. he's naive and not very competent at his job tbh but is still being heralded as a new wave of the brotherhood of steel. very interested to see where all that goes.
enjoyed it a ton. 85/100
Monkey Man (2024)
Tumblr media
dev patel really made a movie about the healing power of trans people and he's awesome for that
good action flick with some scathing political commentary that i wish i was more well-versed on indian politics to say something substantial about but i could Feel the contempt for modi/the bjp and hindu nationalism as a whole
it's shot & edited sooooooo frenetically and i think this works a lot of the time HOWEVER at some points it is like. an active detriment. i never really feel nauseous when movies use shaky cam but this movie's camera is not just shaking. that shit is rocking. vibrating. particularly when he's outrunning the police thats when it gets Bad
otherwise i really enjoyed it. the action hits. the aesthetics and cinematography are probably my favorite of everything i watched this month! that being said i probably wouldn't watch it again just because i'm not the type to rewatch action movies like these i think ive only ever seen john wick the one time
75/100
My Octopus Teacher (2020)
it was fine. it's a documentary idk i don't have much to say. doesn't really feel right rating it but i watched it and the visuals were breathtaking but like it doesnt rly have a plot or anything. its neat. nice background thing to put on while you do something else
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (2023)
Tumblr media
yeah yeah. unique color palette and color grading. directed well to suit the framing device. everyone and everything is smartly positioned onscreen.pretty good performances from people who have to just dump like 60 lines of dialogue on you all at once. yall know this one is good its wes anderson go watch it its 40 minutes long
75/100
video games:
The Battle of Polytopia (2016)/Let's Build a Zoo (2021)
putting both of these games here because i really don't have a lot to say about them, i played them both very briefly. in let's build a zoo's case, literally for five minutes. the battle of polytopia was boring and after like two runs i was like ok welp that's it for me. i did play the mobile version so that might be part of the problem but idk i don't think the gameplay loop would've grabbed me even if expanded. let's build a zoo had atrocious UI and controls on console and i immediately got pissed off trying to build an enclosure and uninstalled
Fallout 3 (2008)
Tumblr media
i am not immune to propaganda
is this game good? not really but my favorite elder scrolls game is oblivion so you should know i, for one, love bethesda jank. love walking around in a big ass world full of weird people and discovering places and just taking a look around. frankly i don't care if i died five times to the same pack of super mutants. i'm having a good time.
not super deep into the main story and have only completed about ten quests but i'm into it
Mineko's Night Market (2022)
Tumblr media
man i like. really wanted to like this game. it has a really cute art style and a good sense of humor, and i like management and sim games. unfortunately it just failed to grab me. i had a chuckle or two for the first hour i played but after that i was just really bored running around looking for flowers and i quit before i even got to attend the actual night market. i played it through my dad's gamepass and i usually end up quitting games quickly due to buying them on steam and needing to decide if i like them or not under 2 hours. otherwise i try not to quit games that early unless they're super boring or glitchy/unplayable. unfortunately even without that time limit looming over my head it just wasn't really doing anything for me.
if u got this far into reading this i love u

Star Stuff
Warnings: self-mutilation, isolation
It is well known that the fabric of existence, the very building blocks of life are made  from the ashes of dead stars. There is beauty in that; everything in the Universe is connected.
And yet, these small lives on this small planet are alone. Billions of souls trapped on a rock in  the outer arm of the Milky Way, hurtling millions of kilometres an hour into the great  unknown. They have reached for the stars, endeavouring to find existence where there is  none.
They remain hopeful however, keeping their heads up, their gazes firmly fixed on the sky.  Humans have invented telescopes and rockets, built floating cities that remained in orbit far  above the surface and drills that went deep into the crust.
They survived in the harshest conditions by shaping their environment and that is where we  must begin our story.
Antarctica, the Earth’s largest and most deadly frozen desert. Across the great dunes of solid  ice and ravines of unimaginable depth, there lay a small encampment. It was simple: a building designed to withstand the gale force winds of the snowy wasteland. The grey steel  barely stood out against the dark clouds that perpetually hung over the continent.
But let us go further, up the open rise stairs through the heavy metal door and slip into the  circular room that comprised the space. There are no windows and no individual rooms.  There exists simply a collection of tables and equipment with a lone cot pushed to the side.
Silence encompasses the dry air like a tomb, stuck for eternity. A woman sits before a screen  that has never been turned off. Dots litter the display, each uniquely bright with varying  colours.
They flashed methodically, growing brighter and dimmer and then brighter once more.  Blackness filled the space between them. The stars were fascinating to be sure but the amber  eyes of the woman who watched them were fixed on the inky darkness, waiting for  something.
The doctor had been a promising young mind, far ahead of her peers throughout her life. She  dreamed of becoming an astronaut, of touching the furthest reaches of space with her own  hands. She collected degrees like stamps, each one making her title longer and longer until  those around her just called her doctor instead of her name.
She was revered for her knowledge. Her colleagues watched her every move both hypnotised  by her intellect and jealously anticipating any stumble that might come her way.
And stumble she did.
She begged them to listen, to see what she saw but they all turned their backs on her. They  called her delusional, said it wasn’t possible.
Her equipment is faulty, her math wrong. Her mind was failing her. Soon enough, the  whispers of her co-workers turned into conversations between her bosses. But her own voice  went unheard by those she trusted, even as she screamed for their help.
So, they sent her away. She was banished, restricted to solitary confinement until her  usefulness run out or her senses returned, whichever one came first.
The fluorescent bulb above her head flickered, distracting her for just a moment but that split  second was just long enough for something to change. When her gaze returned to her station,  her thick glasses reflected one less light than before.
A victorious smirk came over her face before the horrifying realisation settled into her bones.
The stars were disappearing. Slowly at first, she noticed that it was one or two once every  few months. But soon enough, it became clusters of stars when the new moon rose. And then,  it was an entire galaxy.
Somehow, these great balls of gas and gravity were being snuffed out without so much as a  warning. There were no supernovae, no black holes. It was almost like…
Her brow furrowed and she pulled her yellow sweater closer to her chest as she turned to her  abandoned workstation by her perfectly made bed. Her legs, stiff from disuse, compelled her  forward.
The wind screamed outside her temple, a stark reminder that she was indeed alone with a  grand weight of foresight resting on her slim shoulders.
Her instruments were clean, new. They were the latest technologies available, and she would  need that if she were about to do what was necessary. They sparkled under the harsh white  light as she prepped.
The procedure was simple and if done right, painless. She knew the steps; knew the risks and  she was ready.
You see, our good doctor had a theory, one that got her laughed out of MIT and Caltech. To  look out into the Universe, you must first look within. She studied anatomy along with  physics, biology, rocket science, physiology.
From cells to stars.
The endoscope was small enough to easily slip up her nose and back into the deepest parts of  her skull. Streams of red filled her vision as her hair fell forward. Further, a little further. She
chanted, reassuring herself even as she felt the chilled metal scrape a place that should have  never been touched by human hands.
The pinch wasn’t as painful as she thought it would be, but it was still quite uncomfortable.  Her other hand gripped the glass slide tightly as the scope was slowly pulled from her nasal  cavity.
A bit of grey flesh hung off the end. Quickly, she placed it down onto the slide with as much  care as she could manage with shaking hands. And like any true scientist, she labelled it:  Cassandra 20/12.
The glass slid into place on top of the powerful microscope, and she looked within, to watch  as part of her brain dies right before her eyes. The magnification kept increasing until almost  all she could see was blackness.
And then, there were stars. They bloomed out in clouds of dust before the light quickly died  in small blips that spread rapidly.
That is where we leave her. Cursed with a prophecy no one would ever believe and a  crushing epiphany.
We are after all, made from star stuff.

Side note,
I ended up so upset that the bag sold I purchased a archive two tone gold/silver canvas gucci shoulder-bag after, almost out of spite 😂 here’s the continued side-story and more on my feelings for fashion…
Some friends from college had hand me downs from their mums and idk I just bought it. 😂 I remember doing it my way and picking what I liked and taking my time, as I held out on the white mini bag (it seemed less practical and would get dirty) but even happy and feeling mentally sound in my purchase, I was reluctant for my parents to find out I had spent my money on it. I was 21 at the time. I remember them asking about it and throwing it in my face after my sisters told them 😆 and by the time I visited home wearing it a couple months later they were poking fun at me for it in private, in public. It’s like who cares. I ended up wearing the bag and sold it back to the same site I bought it from for a profit a year later. This is when I understood the value in shopping in this way.
Sometimes you need to go skiing randomly let’s say… and you could go buy brand new taxed, upmarket product that is even designer made in large factories now and lesser quality than buying a cool sustainable vintage item that is SO COOL and unique and was saved from the landfill… saves money on outfits you sometimes only wear once or twice ever. Heck, I buy things and never wear them out the house…
Yes sometimes it can feel weird to wear vintage pieces if an item seems worn and harboring negative energy from being worn through, I don’t find myself purchasing such apparel often unless it was of high yielding return on investment… I do just find incredible joy in value, finding things undervalued and that will age to be worth more someday. I naturally seek value,
Another appreciating asset,
like more land or jewlrey for my family. I am large on cultivating, gathering, encompassing, connecting, and creating closeness.
Sharing ideas. My brain never shuts off all day.
Back to fashion; I do like to feel comfortable in what I put on. I always dress to be comfortable in simple terms. For my mood. Whether I am feeling sexy, soft and cozy, athletic, or sophisticated, I dress to make my cohesive mind and body comfortable first. For occasion second. For others third.
Because it is important to be aware of dress code :)
There is something fun and special to be said of how each individual styles themselves. I remember around 7th grade or so when I overheard people say when encouraged by interests “I would never wear that.” And i thought in my mind “Why would they say that?” Sometimes you ask, people say, “I could never pull it off.” And i always pondered, “Who tells you that?!”, but instead I murmured, “All you have to do is wear it. If you like it, wear it.” As I stepped along in my chunky black boots, tights, and black dress, hair air dried and jacket draped over me.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Good morning from Charlottesville, Virginia! ☕️
Tumblr media
Just poured my first cup, letting it sit a spell while I get started. Kolby and Gracie are chillin’ at the moment, which is nice. It means I don’t have to get them to leave the cats alone. Even though Flynn usually starts the loud morning play fest.
The leaves have started falling off the trees and early mornings have been extremely cool. It’s really nice and is a signal to me fall is coming. 🍁
However, Charlottesville weather is unkind and likes to play mind games. This is fake fall. Next week daytime highs are forecast to be in the 90’s. Ugh. 🥵
I hope you enjoy the links.

RIP Jimmy.

One interesting choice we’ve decided to stick to throughout the years and on to this new project is to have the app infrastructure (networking, authentication, data synchronization and persistence, feature data backends, etc.) done using the same technology as the backend (in Rust, see more in Production Environment) and shared across iOS and Android.
I like this choice. I’ve tried to sell this idea inside WillowTree but I think we’ll be doing more React Native going forward. Look, if your primary business is not shipping applications it makes sense to use cross platform tooling. From what I’ve seen of our React Native work it’s quite good and you can’t tell the difference.
If you are an application developer and want to get some shared code across native platforms, Rust is a good alternative to languages like C and C++ — even though I still really love C++. 😁
Using Rust for all that common code just feels right to me.

According to Pizzagate conspiracy theorists, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Pizza Hut boxes are encouraging Satanic ritual abuse
I watched the YouTube video linked from the piece and boy do these folks have to do a bunch of mental gymnastics to make this stuff up. It is crazy. If the entire Q phenomenon did anything it was to create a legion of complete nut jobs.
Heck we all thought al-Qaeda was a threat to our nation. We’ve been able to screw things up from the inside with things like the Orange Menace, the GOP, and Q. No outside help necessary.

Your job title says “software engineer”, but you seem to spend most of your time in meetings. You’d like to have time to code, but nobody else is onboarding the junior engineers, updating the roadmap, talking to the users, noticing the things that got dropped, asking questions on design documents, and making sure that everyone’s going roughly in the same direction. If you stop doing those things, the team won’t be as successful. But now someone’s suggesting that you might be happier in a less technical role. If this describes you, congratulations: you’re the glue. If it’s not, have you thought about who is filling this role on your team?
This is why I wanted to become an Engineering Director at WillowTree. Turns out I was good at team building but horrible at all the management stuff, like reviews.
Now that I’ve gone back to an engineering role I can focus more on team building from a technical perspective, which I love. Sure, I do day-to-day coding, but I also help other grow and do whatever needs doing.

The first time Tony Ford played Dungeons & Dragons, he was a wiry Black kid who had never seen the inside of a prison. His mother, a police officer in Detroit, had quit the force and moved the family to West Texas. To Ford, it seemed like a different world. Strangers talked funny, and El Paso was half desert. But he could skateboard in all that open space, and he eventually befriended a nerdy white kid with a passion for Dungeons & Dragons. Ford fell in love with the role-playing game right away; it was complex and cerebral, a saga you could lose yourself in. And in the 1980s, everyone seemed to be playing it.
My brothers, their friends, and I were part of that nerdy set who played D&D in the 80s. I have wonderful memories of that time in my life. An easier time. The 80s was a great time to be a teenager and D&D contributed heavily to that greatness.

Apple will receive all of TSMC’s first-generation 3-nanometer process chips this year for upcoming iPhones, Macs, and iPads, according to industry sources cited by DigiTimes.
Isn’t it wild to think Apple will take the entire capacity of a chip manufacturer? Heck, I think Intel is finally at 10-nanometer and is expected to move to 7-nanometer this year — maybe they already have, I’m not sure.
It makes me wonder if Intel could get to the point that they’re manufacturing chips for Apple?

I’ve seen countless of tweets and stories lately about modern iOS architecture. I’ve been a huge fan of trying new architecture on iOS, and in the past I have worked with Redux / TCA like architecture because I believe unidirectional data flow is the only way to have a good & robust architecture.
Thomas is a super smart fella and is worth a read. He’s the author of the excellent iOS Mastodon client, Ice Cubes. He’s done an amazing amount to work in the area of SwiftUI performance tuning. Give his piece a read.
George Wright • BBC
Canada has issued a new travel warning to its LGBT citizens planning to visit the United States.
This doesn’t surprise me. Our nation, as a whole, has taken so many steps backwards. Most of the nation wants to move forward but the GOP wants to take us back. They hate women and want them to stay home and be baby making machines, they want to exterminate trans folks, they’re racist, and they’d like to destroy the planet in the name of capitalism.
Meanwhile the sane people want healthcare for all, would like to see an educated America, let the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities exist and be first class citizens, amongst other things.
The choice has always been easy for me. I believe in people and want the best for everyone. We’re all so much better off being a diverse nation.

SwiftUI is really good. (Stop booing me, I’m right.) However, there comes a time when you may look at your app and think, “this reeks of SwiftUI.” System-provided list layouts, the same typography, the same colors as every other app.
It’s always been a bit hacky to do a good job of theming an iOS App. Especially if you want to support dynamic text in your app, which you most definitely should.
I’m always on the lookout for articles that try to solve this problem.
This article isn’t about that as much as it’s about how to make your app shine in multiple ways.

Managers should not use the budget cuts as an “explanation” for compensation decisions for individual employees and instead should emphasize that the employee’s own “impact” determines “rewards.”
This guidance feels so scummy. Just say you had to do because of budget cuts. Sure, folks will be pissed off they’re missing their raise because of the cuts but do you think allowing them to believe they didn’t get a raise because of their lack of performance is better?
Maybe the goal is to get people to quit? If that is the goal, I think this is a good way to do it. Nice work.

WebAssembly is a compiler target for an imaginary CPU that your phones, tablets, laptops, gaming towers and even watches can run. It’s intended to be a level below JavaScript to allow us to ship code in maintainable languages.
I love they this article uses the term imaginary CPU. That imaginary CPU is a computer program that interprets the WebAssembly and executes it on your particular platform. Yes, in almost all cases, it’s going to be a JavaScript runtime.
If you’d like to learn more about WebAssembly you should read the official docs but I’d also encourage you to read my colleagues work on the subject. I’ve mentioned Nish Tahir before. The man’s pretty much a genius and can make a computer do anything he wants with any language. Oh, he can also handle DevOps as well as anyone. A real glue engineer if ever there was one. WillowTree is really lucky to have him.

All of them share my disabilities to some degree, but the severity, symptoms and specifics change. The traits of my F/Os don’t necessarily reflect reality.
Disclaimer that some of my S/Is are villains or murderers, but (hopefully obviously) I am not actually a murderer, a member of the mafia, or anything like that. Pretty Kitchen Wall Decor Ideas
Tumblr media
If your like me and enjoy keeping up with the times and fads, then the design of contemporary decorating would fit into your lifestyle and tastes. The kitchen seems to be the room I spend the most time in and has the most traffic, so I choose to start there.
Today the contemporary kitchen look is a blend of comfortable livable elements that create a sophisticated fresh feel. Simplicity, subtle sophistication, texture and clean lines help to define contemporary style decorating. For contemporary interiors less means more. Absolutely nothing in the decor package should be overpowering. You must make a personal statement through the appearance of the total package.
You must put the emphasis on color, contrasts and schemes that bring out simple lines. With this in mind contemporary kitchen wall decor can easily be modified to reflect your personality.
What you need to remember is that color is what makes contemporary style kitchens popular. Reds, blues and bright colors are often the decoration not the cabinetry. Colored tiles are used as back splashes and accessories are colored and can be changed regularly to create a new look. The contemporary kitchen is functional and versatile. The appliance colors should be black, white or stainless steel for a clean hygienic modern feel.
Although clean lines are indicative of contemporary decor, unique geometric shapes are very much at home in this setting. This could come in the form of wall shelving, a sculptured piece of wall art or a contemporary style clock. Each element on the kitchen walls has a drama of its own. There is never a feeling of clutter, messiness or over crowding.
To offset the clean smooth lines of your accents, texture can be added to your walls. You should stay away from patterned wallpaper with intricate details as this will confuse the clean contemporary look that you wish to ultimately achieve.
Track and recessed lighting can be categorized as contemporary lighting. Their most distinctive features are their clean cut lines and geometric shapes. The variety of lighting fixtures will delight and fulfill the needs of the one who is making the contemporary kitchen decor decisions.
If you decide on using wood, contemporary designs bring out the extremes. Feel free to mix the design styles of the wood accessories such as picture frames, but be consistent with the wood tone for a professional appearance.
For a wall clock, to know if it is of a contemporary style it must have the same characteristics as the rest of the wall decor in the kitchen. Its simplicity and geometrical design is the overwhelming style that all contemporary wall clocks share. It is functional, elegant and most likely will be your conversation starter. No matter which clock you choose, it will always have a sleek and modern appeal to your room.
Some of the newest trends for contemporary kitchens involve the use of universal design principals and eco-friendly materials. The main principals of universal design include flexibility, intuitive use, accident prevention and minimizing fatigue. Green design is a trend which makes use of using ecologically safe materials while emphasizing energy efficiency and recycling. The green design will also give you peace of mind with regards to environmental impacts and family health concerns.
Contemporary styled kitchens cover a vast array of looks and it is an ideal style for remodeling or kitchen wall decor with minimum expense. Keep in mind that good kitchen design ideas take time to develop. The design of your kitchen must encompass the functions and uses of the room like how you prepare meals or how you entertain. With just the right planning you can create the kitchen of your dreams.

Can I have something fluffy with gn reader x Law please? <3
I WENT ABIT MAD ON THIS. Law is like my best boy. I even have Law tats haha. so writing him after so long I was very nervous. I hope you like.
Law x GN reader SFW Fluff/Angst Words: 1,558 Not proof read oops
You had always wanted to go to sea, being a pirate wasn’t exactly what you had been thinking when it came to visions of the wide-open sea, beautiful sunsets and amazing adventures. But adventures you got regardless of the unforeseen career option. Your only real complaint apart from the dangers of the job was the fact that you felt lonely, being a Straw Hat pirate was great, you loved your crew but there was no one you felt a deep connection with, not the type you’d always longed for, someone to hold your hand, share a bed with.
That was until you’d met the surgeon of death, you didn’t think someone as harsh as him would have been your type. The way he always seemed pissed off and irritated at even being around your crew, the fact he just needed your captains help and had formed a hasty alliance that every moment of every day you thought he deeply regretted the choice, that much was always clear on his face.
You were shocked he didn’t have wrinkles with how much his brows were permanently furrowed, even when the man ate at dinner with you all, the way his stern expression never left his face. Whenever you’d glance at him you always thought he would be so much more handsome if he smiled.
Just like everyone that you’d come across during this new life of yours, Law was no exception, scars of a tragic past remained on his soul. You couldn’t blame him for that and at least he wasn’t ever nasty or ill willed towards anyone. He seemed to even get along with some of the crew. The less intense members.
Thinking back to the first night you really made progress with the heart pirate you recalled how it changed the way you thought about him. It had been late into the evening, everyone settling down to their own devices.
You knocked on Chopper’s office door, opening it before you got an answer, often the small medic had issues rushing from his chair and to the door to open it so you always just stepped in. “Chopper can you look at this for me?” you asked closing the door.
“The Doctor went to bed an hour ago.”
You gripped the doorknob, that deep voice certainly didn’t belong to the sweet fluffy reindeer, you took a breath, why didn’t you just wait for a response like a nice normal and polite person? You had never been in a room alone with Law until now. Taking a breath and telling yourself that your hand wasn’t going to get any better by just going to bed.
“Oh, sorry” cradling your sore hand close to your chest your eyes darted around everywhere you could to avoid looking at him.
He was sat at the doctor’s desk, a medical textbook open, a pot of coffee at his side. His normal irritated expression however wasn’t present, his brows relaxed, his whole posture in fact looked lazy, his long legs stretched under the table, he looked comfortable in the chair, like he was on his own ship.
“I can look at it.”
“Huh?”
He turned to face you, cocking his head to the side to give you his full attention, his gaze rested on your chest, or rather the aching hand you clutched there, feeling your own beating heart as he nodded for you to come forward.
“Are you sure?” You looked at the comfy stool next to his desk, inching towards it.
Your hesitation made him laugh, actually laugh, it was such a nice sound you decided, deep but smooth, you’d never heard him make any show of amusement, he hadn’t even cracked a smile in all the time you had known him. But here he was, the very person who had the reputation of being a twisted individual, a current warlord for gods sake, the surgeon of DEATH in fact, smirking at you as you nervously sat down where he’d gestured.
“I am still a doctor you know” another chuckle as he straightened up in his seat.
“I know I don’t look like one, but my father was a doctor, I learned a great deal from him, it’s not just my devil fruit that affords me my gifts” Law explained and crossed his arms over his chest waiting for you to go on.
“Sorry, I know you shouldn’t believer every rumor that floats out at sea, if I believed everything the papers or drunks in bars said I’d think my captain was the devil but I’ve seen that man with chopsticks up his nose, I’ve seen him sleeping like a baby, he’s no devil” You knew your nerves had turned into rambling, feeling your palms sweat at being so close with the other captain but his soft chuckle, under his breath, trying to be discreet. But you’d heard it, such a nice sound you mused feeling a little more at ease around him now.
“So?”
“Well, my hand hurts, ever since I climbed down from the crows nest about three hours ago, I think I got it tangled in the ropes as I slipped a little” You explained. Law nodded his head before he held his tattooed hands out.
You held your hand out for him, he gently took it in both of his, long nimble fingers moved over your digits, feeling different parts, he was surprisingly gentle, his hands warm and welcoming. You couldn’t help but stare as he expertly examined your aching hand. You felt your gaze drift from his hands, up his arms and towards his face. His expression was like nothing you’d ever seen on the warlord. Soft. The way his tired eyes looked over your hand, he seemed happy to help, in his true element.
If not for whatever plagued him in his past, would he have been happy just being a village doctor? He seemed at peace right now. You allowed yourself to smile, your heart beating faster for an entirely different reason then when you’d set foot into the doctor’s office.
His grey eyes met yours when he pressed a certain painful part of your hand and you yelped. He clicked his tongue pressed a little harder, flexing your hand in his grasp. You bit your lip and focused on where your hands met.
“Sprain”
“H-huh?”
“You sprained your hand” He pulled his hands away and you hated how your heart dropped at the loss of contact.
“Oh..”
Law pushed his chair out and stood up, walking around the doctor’s office and looking for things, opening a few draws. You did your best to stifle any laughter from watching the very tall man try navigating his way around storage designed for a very small reindeer. It was comical.
“Avoid using it wherever you can for starters” he explained pulling out a small box and returning to the desk. “Ice will help it; you should have come to me sooner about it but” yeah, he was a doctor alright you mused as he took your hand once more. “Ice for twenty minutes every two to three hours will help with the swelling, I’m going to bandage it up right now, a compression will help support your hand while it heals, I suggest elevating it as much as possible.”
You nodded along while watching him work on your hand, he did so much damage to people, you’d seen some of the things he was capable of, he was terrifyingly powerful. But the way he held your hand still, being firm but gentle was a side you didn’t think someone who’d swapped out people’s body parts and rearranged souls for what seemed like fun could ever be capable of.
“Come to me tomorrow morning and I can re-do it if needs be” you wished he’d hold your hand longer, but he moved to get something else, a little cup which held two pills.
“For the pain”
“Thank you” You watched him pour you a glass of water and handed it you, aiming for your good hand. You gulped the medication he’d given you and drinking the water to chase it down you let out a sigh.
Law simply nodded in response to your gratitude, saying nothing more as he got comfortable in his seat once more, taking a swig of his black coffee, no wounder the man never slept, you stood from your seat and excused yourself with a small ‘goodnight’ closing the door.
Walking along the deck, just the sound of waves lapping against the ship to keep you company. You turned the corner and pressed yourself against the wall, your newly bandaged hand laid over your heart as you stared out to sea, watching the moon shimmer across the dark surface of water. You felt your lip tremble.
The feeling you’d wanted all your life, the tight feeling in your chest, the fluttering of butterflies, all-encompassing feeling and desire to be by someone’s side. You were in love. You were in love with Trafalgar Law of all people, and you knew this wouldn’t end well for you.
You bit your lip, slowly sinking to your knees on the wooden deck of the ship. You could feel tears prick your eyes. This was going to hurt, worse then never knowing what it was like to long for someone.

If someone were trying to make a new character inspired by pulp heroes, but the new character had to be a teenager, what existing pulps heroes should they look to for inspiration?
Tumblr media
I'm not exactly in touch with the yoof so I could be off the mark here, but let's talk about teenager characters for a bit.
Now, I could just tell you to look for characters that appeal to you and use them as a baseline and that's probably the best advice here, but if you want the essay and history lesson: American pulp fiction didn't used to market much to teenagers. Teenagers as a consuming market haven't always been the all-encompassing force they are considered today, and the pulps were largely marketed either towards young boys, or for working class men, mostly the latter. This is part of why teenagers tend to show up in these stories largely as sidekicks, which was something carried over to comic superheroes, and part of why Spider-Man was such a breakout hit, because he was a teenage superhero who was not a sidekick.
Tumblr media
The biggest pre-1950s traditional pulp hero I can of who was a teenager would be Jack Harkaway, an 1871 penny dreadful adventurer who would go on to be published overseas, one of those characters who was big enough in his day to inspire imitators a plenty but didn't quite make it past a specific time period. Comic strips had plenty of kid or teenage protagonists who are a bit closer to pulp heroes, like Tintin or Terry Lee, one in particular I'm highlighting above is Ledger Syndicate's Connie Kurridge, arguably the first female adventure hero of American comics. Overseas you can find a couple of prominent examples of teenage adventurers published in what we call the pulp era, the biggest and most influential of which being The Famous Five, but as I stated in answering whether Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys were pulp heroes, these were not published in pulp magazines, instead their direct opposites in glossy and reputable paperbacks.
There are other examples of pulp heroes who were teenagers and not sidekicks, but nearly all of them are very obscure and you will probably not find much material for them. And the thing is, these characters were not made for teenagers. They were made, for the most part, by grown-ups, and for grown-ups, and I can't say any of them ever really grabbed a teenage audience. Usually, it's the 60s as an era that really starts to pander to and include teenagers at the forefront of storytelling, so a good start for you might be to look at what was going on in the 60s-onwards worldwide in the realms of pulp and pulp-inspired works, which probably means you're going to have to look outside of the US.
Another word of advice would be to look up characters that are beloved by teenagers. I don't think "teenager" is a great baseline trait to start building a character, but if that's the number one priority to you, then ideally you should look for a good baseline of what appeals to that demographic, what appealed to you at that age and why. You're probably going to wind up with a lot of anime anti-heroes in your research though, because teenagers are deeply miserable creatures and few things appeal more to them than characters who are miserable but they act cool and badass and edgy about it. Teenagers are forced to live with the miserable reality of being teenagers with little to no upsides, so I think teenage characters could benefit more from being based on the kinds of characters teenagers would ideally want to read about.
So, "cool, badass and tortured character super popular with angsty teenagers", "rooted in and subverting older storytelling traditions for a fresh new audience", and "60s pulp hero". I think Elric is probably as good of a place as any for you to start.
Tumblr media
Elric wasn't just popular, he wasn't even just popular with teenagers (boys and girls alike, which is also quite the feat), he was "cool". He was avant-garde, he was the hip new thing on the block. He wasn't Conan or Bond or Batman, and you'd hardly mistake him for a hero. He got the rock albums and fans tattooing him. He was penned by the guy who was openly called the "anti-Tolkien". Elric was Loki before Loki, the edgy anti-hero before them all. The emaciated warrior with white hair and black clothes and a demonic sword who suffered in a cool way, cool in his uncoolness. When I think of pulp heroes who achieved a substantial popularity among teenage audiences, Elric is definitely the first that comes to mind.
Tumblr media
Another good example might be Captain Harlock, easily one of the premier Pulp Heroes among manga and anime due to how heavily Leiji Matsumoto incorporates pulp space opera into everything he does. Not only directly influenced by it, Matsumoto even has actual pulp credentials as an illustrator for C.L Moore's Shambleau, Northwest Smith and Jirel of Joiry. The space pirate, while not created in manga and anime, is one of Japan's premier pulp hero archetypes, and Harlock's as good of a baseline to work with as any.
Tumblr media
The most popular pulp-inspired works nowadays among teenage or younger audiences are definitely the ones derived from pulp horror, several creators have been getting a lot of mileage these past decades out of plundering and remixing stuff from it. The big ones are Lovecraft and related works like The King in Yellow, but because they soak up all the attention, it also means that people are sleeping on authors like John W. Campbell, William Hope Hogdson, Clark Ashton Smith and Karl Edward Wagner, Nictzin Dyalhis and Olaf Stapledon, and many, many more, which gives you a lot of narrative real estate to work with should you take this direction.
Additionally, one thing that you could consider is that, for a very large portion of the history of pulp fiction, a significant amount of the most popular stories and characters were those that were based on celebrities and real life figures. The biggest of dime novel protagonists was Buffalo Bill, and following him was Nick Carter, a literary equivalent to Eugen Sandow (the Schwarzenegger of his day). Thomas Edison inspired an entire subgenre of dime novel fiction, even Jack the Ripper was a pulp protagonist in Dutch magazines, because sometimes the term "pulp hero" doesn't take the "hero" part much into account.
The precedent for celebrity stories is older than pulp fiction itself, but it was in the dime novels and novelettes and pulps that the idea really found it's footing. The Shadow's exploits took a lot from Gibson's own experiences with Houdini (who himself starred in fictional stories, one famously penned by Lovecraft). Doc Savage was visually modeled after Clark Gable and supposedly inspired on Richard Henry Savage. Eddy Polo, Charlie Chaplin and Tom Mix were the protagonists of several pulps and comic strips across the world, as well as Al Capone (who starred in pulp magazines in Germany and Spain), who fought Nick Carter in a Brazilian story guest-starring Fu Manchu (reportedly based on real figures Sax Rohmer claimed to have met) and Fantomas. Today obviously there are much greater restrictions at play concerning celebrity images, but if dime/pulp magazines were around today, we would have quite possibly seen figures like Keanu Reeves, Tilda Swinton and Lil Nas X either star in their own magazines or be used as models for rising protagonists.
So I guess one other way you could go on about creating a pulp hero, who's either a teenager or appeals to teenagers, would be the route of taking a look at some celebrities that either are, or appeal to those demographics, because if pulp magazines had stayed around unchanged past the 60s and 80s and whatnot you definitely would have seen the likes of David Bowie, Will Smith and Dwayne Johnson get their own magazines. I don't know much about what celebrities are popular with teenagers these days and I'm not about to start caring now, but you could take a look at some icons you like, or liked when you were younger, and think about what made them appealing to think about as characters, and how you could apply that to something closer to a pulp story.
A word of advice would also be that, if you want to make a character inspired by pulp heroes, if you want to create a convincing modern pulp hero, you might want to look less at the pulp heroes themselves and instead those that they were inspired by or working to defy and stand out when compared to. You take the building blocks and rearrange them in a different way. If you have a specific character you want to design yours in reference to, you can send me an ask or a DM about them and I'll dig into my files to give you a few pointers, and what kind of history or cultural predecessors they have that you could take a look at to make something more genuine.

How do you figure out how to panel each comic page? Do you think of it before hand or do you just go with the flow as your drawing?
Think of it beforehand and Write a script. Write out what is happening in each panel beforehand and any dialog that goes in that panel.
I don’t follow my panel descriptions 100%, but having that script really helps.
My panels are a combo of the script and going with the flow because some things just don’t always work how you plan them out beforehand, but you need a building block.
I also think in terms of pages, but this took me a while to get use to, and I wouldn’t expect anyone to be able to do this right away with their first comics. Page layout also doesn’t apply to web comic design which has different paneling techniques than comic pages which are meant to be turned rather than scrolled.
(Note: I’m all self taught. I’m pretty sure there are rules out there somewhere about paneling, but I’ve not found any in English yet. I have found some small rules from Manga artists but I’m sure there’s a beautiful set of standard paneling rules that would be amazing to get ahold of if only I could)
Every comic artist has an art style, but most people don’t think about panel style. This highly effects the flow and drama of a story. Just think about how Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventure can make anything dramatic. This is due to perspective and of course, panel selection :)
I’ve seen artists with amazing skill not have the best paneling, but I’ve also seen some average artists have amazing paneling. I’d say the ability to panel means the story is interesting and people will be more forgiving of the art if the story is good, so... do some panel studies from comic/manga artists you love and figure out what they’re doing with the panels to make the story better. Everyone has their own panel style and it makes a huge difference. (Also read Understanding Comics, by Scott McCloud)
Here’s my tips.
Each page should encompasses an idea. Don’t start a new idea halfway through the page.
In manga, the last panel on a page is called the page turner. End the last panel on a page with something that would make you want to turn the page.
Large panels are for important ideas. Small panels are for minor actions with very little text.
Irregular panels can create motion or distortion. A panel that is pressing down on a character can make the character feel weak. A panel that is pressing up diagonally on a character makes them feel actiony. (this is the panel shape, not perspective, which can also help with these feelings)
There are such things as full bleed or open panels. These are panels that are drawn to the full border of the page and not contained by black lines. These are good for establishing shots or setting the scene or tone.
Panels can have a double line “gutter” or one line separating them. I’ve found that gutters are better for when the camera makes a jump to a different idea. Single line separated panels are for a string of consecutive thoughts that somewhat tie together.
Some panels can have borders, but bleed to the side of the page. IDK why I do these yet, but I feel like it’s mostly for either more space or a hybrid of open and closed panels.
Plan for where your text will go. Text should force the reader’s eye to travel through the panels. The order of reading the text and looking at the picture affects the readability. Sometimes you want to hear the text in your head first before looking at the image, and sometimes you want to see the image and then read the text. This depends on what is going on, but for joke punchlines, it can really have an impact.
I’ve found a general rule of 6 panels per page is good for pages with less action. Aim for 6 panels unless you have an impactful scene. For me, splitting the page up into thirds and then further sub splitting those panels works best so that you have one large panel and 5 smaller panels.
Try to have a panel that shows where the characters are in relationship to each other and the background every page, or every other page. This will keep your readers from becoming confused. I’m bad at this!
If you’re starting out, my first suggestion is to ask if you are still at the point where you are ordering your panels with numbers for the reader. Work on not needing to do this. The reader should naturally know where to read. Then work on leading the reader’s eye with text. Then something else I stated one at a time.
Do not start your big comic all at once. Do some small jokes or a short few page story's the first time. This is what I did till I felt more comfortable paneling. If you have a big comic idea, you aren’t going to be able to do it justice if you haven’t practiced, and you’ll end up putting it off in fear of not doing it right. Aim for small comics till you feel more comfortable about the process.

never have i ever
Guess who is the new stylish of the famous Harry Styles' band? It's me! After studying and specializing in fashion, my day of glory had arrived!
The pandemic had passed, Harry Styles was back on tour, and Harry Lambert had suffered a domestic accident where he fractured his ankle. I had been an intern at his agency and one thing led to another.
Everyone was very kind, nice despite being shy... Ah, Englishmen... Because I had joined the team, we decided to celebrate my admission and the return to tour at Harry's house.
I put on a black outfit with lace, it was my favorite kind of outfit because it fulfilled something sexy and comfortable, perfect for a more casual evening.
"But what's up, did you like the guys?" Sarah Jones asked close to my ear, she was already on her 3rd glass of drink in less than half an hour.
"Everyone is very nice and welcoming" I flashed a smile after repeating the action near her ear.
Sarah gave a thumbs up and turned the straw of the clear drink back to her mouth. Mitch was already high, he and Harry were dancing on a makeshift dance floor.
Harry was wearing a white printed shirt and dark bell-bottomed pants with some spikes on the side. His exotic style would give me a hard time, but I was up for the challenge.
I continued to sit in the armchair in her huge garden, hour I would go to the little bar and flirt with the muscular blond man making drinks.
"Stylist!" Harry shouted raising his arms, I cringed nervously. Not for the moment, but he was making me nervous.
"Boss!" I giggled and turned to him, also raising my arms entering his.
Harry's mansion was the opposite of what I had imagined, it was something more minimalist with the exception of the bright pink staircase, it was in shades of black, white and gray.
There was pleasant music in the background, everyone from the production was spread out in the garden with some armchairs in the colors I mentioned before.
"I wanted to say something about the outfit for tomorrow's show." Harry said scratching the back of his head next, if I trusted my super powers of distrust, he was lying and flirting with me.
I smiled dull and agreed "Anytime" I smiled drinking some of the juice I had picked up.
🎵🎵🎵🎵
"I think I could tighten up the cuffs a little more, what do you think?" Harry commented. We were in Harry's huge closet, he on a stool standing even taller than me as I examined the outfit.
It was a black and white striped suit with some gold details, it fit his body very well, Lambert and I had designed it and got it right.
"You need to see about the fit, because you stretch your arms out to play the guitar and do your little dances..." I commented unpretentiously, Harry stared at me with a sideways grin.
"You're absolutely right, (Y/N)..." He started to unbutton his suit, I arched my eyebrows feeling my cheeks heat up, I turned around putting away the tape measure that was around my neck. "I really like your outfit, especially the lace, it suits your skin tone." I heard Harry behind me and the sounds of the clothes being thrown onto the couch nearby.
"Thanks, it's my favorite kind of outfit." I commented closing the little box, I turned my body around and Harry was standing in front of me, wearing nothing but black boxer shorts and his tattoos showing.
He was totally gorgeous, his eyes sparkling, his body all designed and his fingers being adorned by rings was something that turned me on.
"It's become mine too..." Harry threw the words out before moving closer stealing a kiss.
Having the dream job and kissing Harry Styles? Was that a dream?
Because of our height difference, I lifted my body on my tiptoes and passed my arms around his neck, I felt his hands pulling me tighter against his body that emanated a pleasant warmth.
His fingers trailed down my spine, reaching the straps of my lacy cropedd, his lips still sucking mine with all the affection in the world, I pulled his gently leaving a few small bites.
"Come with me, babe" He pulled me through a door, which led directly into his huge gray room
Without delay, my body was lying on the huge soft king size bed and his body on top of mine. I could feel his covered member slapping against my thigh, Harry let out a few grunts that made me shiver.
"I've wanted you since the day Lambert introduced you..." Harry was distributing kisses down my neck, hourly running the tip of his tongue across it. I crossed my legs around his waist and felt him pressing his member between my legs. It was warm and wet.
Soon, Harry pulled, with a little difficulty, my white cropped top up, leaving my breasts showing. Shame was eating away at me, but his pupils had dilated, giving me the expression of a hunter.
Still staring at me, Harry ran the tip of his tongue over my nipple and then grabbed my left breast and sucked on it.
Fuck!
My body was almost on fire, I could feel my panties getting wet as I moved my legs. By the hour, I was stroking his curls, closing my eyes for his sucking and biting my lips.
"I won't be able to take much longer, babe," Harry commented leaving me with a kiss, soon his fingers were on the belt of my pants that had been thrown along with it on the floor of his room.
Harry's excitement was evident, but looking at his underwear made me long for him like never before. He stood in front of me, he ran to a cupboard behind him and came up with packets of condoms.
Yes, plural.
And with that, his boxer shorts were flying across the room, his cock bouncing with the tip facing up, it was glowing from the liquid of arousal. How I would like to suck him and taste him, but apparently his plans were to satisfy this desire.
I took off my white lace panties with a little difficulty since I was not thinking very well, considering that someone might miss us and he might be my boss somehow.
I held my panties up and soon Harry practically flew on top of me, his hot swollen tip was rubbing up and down my folds. We both let out guttural moans at the sensation.
"Oh God, (Y/N), you're soaking wet...all for me?" he whimpered, his hands digging into the mattress on either side of my head.
Before I could reason out a convenient response, Harry had put on a condom and was already partially inside my cavity.
It was surreal to feel his cock stretching inside me, a sensation I had never felt before. He was really good in bed, nothing compared to the college guys. He was gentle as he tried to go a little further, his throat let out delicious moans that I could listen to forever.
I moaned as he reached bottom, my legs again around his waist, begging him to go even deeper.
"All right, babe? You're fucking tight and hot!" He whispered, placing a kiss on each side of my cheeks.
"Yes!" I almost choked, "Please, H. It feels so good!"
Harry let out a small giggle, I felt his member pull out of me a little before entering again and again and again.
My moans became a little more audible as they blended with the sounds of our skins slapping against each other. With each thrust from Harry, his member was able to reach an undiscovered location that made my head spin and involuntary smiles formed on my lips.
It was all too splendid to be real. I forced myself to open my eyes and I just had the sight of heaven, Harry's mouth was ajar, his pink lips hung open in a perfect "O," shaggy curls framing his face. His bright eyes pierced yours with such love and admiration that it was almost irresistible.
For a small moment of courage, I put my hands on his face and pulled him into a kiss, Harry's lips were addictive. He reciprocated with more desire than I could imagine, his tongue filling my lips eagerly. His hips still bumped against mine, at times I squeezed him internally and felt Harry's arms waver.
With each thrust, which became faster and faster, my body's movements clamored harder and harder for him, making me pull him deeper inside me. His member kept slamming into that special place, eliciting the only moans of real pleasure from me. I wouldn't last long, and Harry knew it. Harry kept ripping compliments about me and my body "I want to have you all night, baby..." He would say so that only I could hear "So hot, so perfect, I want you so bad..."
I didn't know how to respond, so I just grabbed his hair tighter, pulling making him thrust harder against me, being fierce and relentless.
All my mind and body wanted was for this night to never end, and so did the sensations it caused.
I rolled over as hard as I could and it seemed that Harry had gone deeper, his moans became longer, he had picked up momentum by pulling the sheets off the bed and sinking his feet into it, I would be limp by tomorrow, but it would be worth it.
A trembling began to take over me, the butterflies in my stomach took a long walk there, my toes had curved, the liberating feeling was coming. My hands, which before scratched his back, went back to his scalp, which I pulled with each shock that passed through there.
I could feel Harry shivering too, my walls involuntarily tightened around his member, which made Harry face me and leave a hickey on my neck. "Come with me babe, I know you're almost there, let go..."
And that was all it took, I felt the euphoric feeling taking over my body quickly, the roller coaster descending, the chill in my stomach encompassing. I twisted my body on the bed, arching my spine and biting my lip. I shivered quickly and my legs fell open to my sides, Harry launched three more thrusts and lay over my body moaning into mine hearing a long delicious "Oooh". I could feel his cock thickening inside the condom and his hips working for the last few times.
🎵🎵🎵🎵
A month after our historic fuck, Harry and I had not exchanged another word. It had been a fuck, period. No one needed to know anything about it, nor did we need to prolong it.
I was sketching Harry's outfit for the next week, the tour was already in North America. I remember that the outfit that Harry had worn after that night, during the show, got me a notice in the newspapers and a call for Gucci. Yes, Gucci had called me, but I couldn't leave the team now, so they gave me the responsibility of designing the next suit that Harry would wear for their shoe promo, because according to them, I knew Harry from head to toe.
And I really did.
It was late at night, I was in my hotel room, until Mitch called me to a meeting in the private area.
There were the guys from the band, Jeff and Harry. I sat down next to Jeff and we started talking, I felt Harry looking at me while Mitch stroked his head that was lying on his shoulder.
I decided to just ignore it because it might be me. Jeff and I saw that we have some friends in common on Instagram, which sparked the conversation.
"I remember Natalie came out loaded when we played 'Never have I ever' , she was quiet of the group but had done things..." Jeff blinked putting away his laptop on a small table next to the couch.
"There you go, I think we should play!" Sarah pronounced and everyone nodded and I felt my hands sweat. I always got screwed in this game.
Jeff's assistant brought a bottle of Wiskey, we sat down on the rug in the room and Mitch picked up a bottle he had used.
Harry was on the opposite side from me, set up was me, Jeff on my right, Peter his assistant, Adam, Charlottie, Harry, Sarah and Mitch.
Peter had handed out cups and opened the huge bottle of whiskey.
I had taken only one which was from "I never had sex in college," until Mitch asked the crucial question.
"I've never had sex with anyone on the team!" He and Sarah toasted, drawing laughs from everyone, and Harry turned the liquid over in one gulp.
No, I wasn't going to throw it all away, not now and not ever. I crossed my legs and continued to hold the glass of liquid. I looked everywhere but at Harry, who was waiting for me to drink.
"Spin the bottle, Adam!" I suggested and the question mark in everyone's expression fell apart to form an exclamation point.
They knew now.
🎵🎵🎵🎵
The bottle game lasted three more rounds, Harry said he needed to rest and wished everyone a good night by shaking hands, except me.
Damned Aquarian.
I waited a bit and went after him as soon as he did, I ran to the elevator and up to the presidential suite. Harry was walking with his hands in the pockets of his black sweatpants and his jacket also black.
"Hazz..." I jogged down the long hallway and he even looked at me, swiping the card on his door opening it.
"What is it, (Y/N)?" A little breathless, I stopped at his door and he was staring at me now "After a month you decided to talk to me alone?"
Harry left the door open, and I entered the room and closed it. He had sat on the edge of the bed, his fingers intertwined and his legs spread.
"I thought it was all right!" I started in a mild tone, I didn't know how he would react. "You know Harry, I am a person who works for you, that was wrong!" I sighed moving closer "It was wrong for me and for you!"
His eyebrows frowned and he let out a sarcastic laugh "I know what's wrong or right, (Y/N), you don't have to tell me that." He shook his head scratching his chin "I could have sworn sneaking out after mind-blowing sex like that was a guy thing, but you've outdone yourself!"
My heart was beating fast, Harry had never been rude to anyone in front of me, I had been the first and it was scary.
"Was that right for you? I barely made the team and I'm already in your bed! Understand my side, Harry! I may have broken the contract or whatever!" I started pacing back and forth trying to explain myself.
"It was right yes, because after a while I felt something good besides some orgasm, I put all my emotions and feelings there because I thought you were different, you were the woman of my dreams! But I was very wrong, definitely!" Harry stood up and approached me "Do you really think I would let someone fire you for that? It was something concensual! I wanted you from the moment I saw you with Lambert! Everyone on my team knows my every quirk, they know I was and still am in love with you!" Harry shouted in his English accent, he wanted to kill me.
"You know what? Fuck you and your little story! If you wanted something, you'd fake it with me and not expose it to everyone on the team!" I roared in anger and walked out slamming the door to his room.
🎵🎵🎵🎵
I couldn't sleep a wink and it was after four o'clock in the morning. Harry's words were rattling around in my head, was he really feeling something for me? It hadn't been a one-night thing? But he should have said something! I am no guesser!
Already in bed, I decided to put on a podcast to go to sleep, but as soon as I unplugged my cell phone from the charger, Harry's name flashed on the screen in a call.
I rolled my eyes and rejected the call.
I plugged in my headphones and put on the Spotify podcast, but in less than 30 seconds it was interrupted.
I took a deep breath and accepted the call.
"What is it Harry?" I asked removing my headphones and placing the cell phone close to my face.
"Babe, I need you." I heard his mellifluous voice. "You weren't wrong, I couldn't have done that, but I swear, I swear..." he repeated emphasizing, which was normal since he probably started drinking again after I left his room "That I imagined you would flip that shot and I would kiss you in front of everyone like I've been dreaming about for the last thirty days..." Harry sobbed and I felt slightly guilty, he imagined it would be a movie scene...
"Harry..." I got out of bed and pulled on my robe "You should have sat down and talked to me, I'm not like them, I know how to talk and get a yes or no." I tied the robe around my waist, walked to the door and unlocked it.
In front of me was a teary-eyed Harry, his face flushed with a beak. "Forgive me! Can we talk?"
"Later." I pulled him into my room.
Within minutes, I had him pinned to me by jumping into his lap, Harry sat on the bed and pressed my waist against his.
"I'm going to tell everyone you're mine!" He growled slowly biting my neck and jaw.
My hands and his worked together, Harry sat in the middle of the bed right after putting on a condom, I sat naked on his lap feeling his cock slowly entering me, I loved him and wanted him too, I wished he would be fast and strong like last time.
"Faster, Hazz," I moaned, my eyes rolling back as my nails slid up Harry's arms and down the back of his neck and back.
His head was propped between my breasts as he kept up the effort to go deep, burying his cock in me in more violent strokes.
On an impulse, Harry laid me down on the bed, his right arm supporting his body while the other was pulling his member out of me, rubbing the swollen head against my slippery spot. He knew how to tease me very well.
"Oh, (Y/N)... I've dreamed every night of this pussy!" he murmured "Of my cock drowning in it, taking all your sanity, leaving you only pleasure!"
His hand landed on my thigh and he changed the angle of his thrusts, making a pornographic moan come from my lips.
He had done it again.
"Is this the spot, baby?" he asked, his voice deep as he concentrated on hitting that spot over and over again, the pleasure was overwhelming and all I could do was nod, encouraging Harry to continue.
"I love having you like this, love." Harry moaned, looking up into my face in complete pleasure with each thrust he launched.
His cock was reaching places inside me I never knew existed and points I never knew could cause so much pleasure.
Like last time, my body shook a little harder and more deliciously, as Harry said the word 'mine' with each thrust, ending our reconciliation sex.
Harry had his body on top of mine, my legs still entwined around his waist, my heart was pounding hard, my breathing ragged, and a giant fatigue falling over me.
"Babe?" Harry called out to me and I just shook my head with my eyes closed. "You'll need to have two glasses of wiskey."
He left a kiss on each of my breasts, I pulled his face to me giving him a lingering kiss, I opened my eyes and stared into his "I'll take a whole bottle if I have to."
I loved Harry's smile, but I loved Harry's post fuck smile even more.
