Okay, my brain refuses to think about anything other than Murderbot, so I looked at every use of the word "friend[s]" in TMBD and... created some pie charts. Normal human activities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some Thoughts™ I had while putting this together (under the cut):
In All Systems Red, Murderbot notes that the PresAux crew are all close friends (twice! and goes on to explain their internal relationships which I think is very cute). This is pretty much the only use of 'friends' in ASR, except for when Murderbot says that SecUnits can't be friends with each other.
It seems that this may be one of the first times Murderbot has ever really been around a group of friends before? Murderbot notes that this is not the norm for its contracts and admits that the fact that they are all friends and the way they interact with each other make it actually enjoy that contract (before!!!! the hostile attack, so it already enjoys this contract before they start seeing it as a person etc ghghhhh). [Inference: Friendship seems enjoyable.]
The first character that calls Murderbot its friend is ART in Artificial Condition. Murderbot immediately refutes this (and then goes on to call ART its friend to its clients for the rest of the book). [Inference: Maybe ART is Murderbot's friend. And maybe that is... agreeable]
Rogue Protocol has more than twice as many instances of the word 'friend' as any of the other novellas. Why? Miki. Friendship and its implications for non-humans are a central theme because Miki is friends with everyone. Murderbot initially scoffs at the notion that Miki and Miki's humans are friends. At the end of the book, after witnessing how desperately Don Abene tried to stop Miki from trying to save them, and her grief after its death, Murderbot has to admit that she had in fact been Miki's friend. [Inference: Humans can be friends with bots and can sincerely care about them]
In Exit Strategy, Murderbot tentatively uses the word "friends" for its humans for the first time (several times actually). It questions whether it can actually call them its friends or not and later realizes that it had been afraid what admitting that the humans are its friends would do to it. At the end of the book, Mensah tells Murderbot the PresAux crew are its friends, which is the first time a human has directly said that to it (at least on-page). [Inference: Humans can and want to be Murderbot's friends]
In Network Effect, Murderbot seems to be more habituated to the word 'friend', confidently calling ART and Ratthi its friends, like it is no longer just trying the concept on unsure if it fits. There are many instances in which other characters refer to MB as ART's friend or the other way around and Murderbot's humans refer to Murderbot as their friend several times. Generally, there seems to be less hesitancy, because yes, all of them are Murderbot's friends, why wouldn't they be. [Inference: SecUnits can have friends. This SecUnit has friends. They care about it a lot.]
Conclusion: The Murderbot Diaries tell the story of a construct that does not seem to consider the possibility of friendship for itself and is fine with that - until it accidentally starts caring a little too much and suddenly more and more people annex it as a friend (ew) to the point where it can no longer deny that this is happening and has to begrudgingly admit that yes, it has friends now and maybe that is actually not a bad thing.

Can I ask what about neo changed your mind on joshneku? I've been feeling sort of similar about neshiki, in twewy I was "meh" on it (although I got why people shipped it, they never seemed connected enough to me), but now my opinion of it has become "this is pretty cute"
I think I might put this under a "read more", because I don't want to risk starting a ship war--even though the TWEWY fandom is really cool, and has never done that, I think--but better safe than sorry:)
I think it was Joshua being like, "So, you don't want to stay here and become Composer, then?", which is of course code for Joshua asking Neku to stay in the UG with him. Or for Neku to stay in the UG in general, with Josh maybe thinkin he belongs there? I don't freaking know. And it's put out as a joke with his tone--and it very well could be a joke, knowing Josh; in fact, I'm thinking it is--but damn, Josh. You're joking about him killing you to get him to stay in the UG... I feel there might be some serious feelings here?
I feel their whole interaction in that scene was pretty cute, too. And it was nice knowing that Joshua "saved" Neku, though I'm putting quotes there, because he also locked him in Shinjuku for three years with some ulterior motives, after that whole "...I don't need him anymore" spiel in A New Day, that we all knew was a lie because of the ellipses there.
And Joshua showing up to help Neku when his syncing up with all of Shibuya had been taking a toll on him, is a pretty spectacular moment, too. Neku is surprised and genuinely glad to see him, you can tell, and calls him "partner."
And then there's that text at the beginning of the game, where someone is saying they hope someone wakes up soon. And someone just told me today that data-miners found out that that Joshua's speaking... and take this with a grain of salt, because I don't know for sure, but I assume he's talking to Neku, then? Because I can't imagine who else it would be. Even though "wake up" doesn't really make sense to me with the context of what we know about Neku's situation. You'd think it would say "I hope you get out soon", then. But maybe it's "wake up and find the exit out of Shinjuku soon?" Ehh. That's why I say take this one with a grain of salt. Joshua could easily be talking about someone else here. But if it is JoshNeku, it did just add points for them to me, LOL, to see that Josh thinks about Neku this much, I guess. Though if he was talking about Neku, I know it was probably mostly because, “I need you to wake up to help me win this game against Kubo,” more than, “I need you to wake up because I love you,” but still. Edit: Actually, you know what? I’m a moron. He was probably talking to the new proxy, Rindo, after he passed out that day. So, yeah. Ignore this one.
Also... this is more of a fanon thing, but I always imagined that Joshua would become friends with all of the Hachiko Group. And I think he did. I think they maybe hung-out a little (at least one time?) before Neku was shot. At least that's the impression I got. But it definitely seems he mostly stayed friends with Neku above anyone else--and cares about him above anyone else in Shibuya--so is there love there?
And also... as I said in my one post, Neku is just so chill and forgiving now. He'd probably be willing to try a relationship with Josh now, where he definitely wouldn't have been at the end of TWEWY. I think he's probably forgiven him at this point. Heck, he's forgiven Coco.
Though I still think I'll always prefer NeShiki... because they were just such a wholesome and healthy, well-written ship in the first game (one of Square Enix's best written canon couples to me), who saw the worst of each other and then ended up helping each other change for the better. And Neku doesn't even care about what Shiki looks like. He loves her soul. And I do think they had some great chemistry during their week and some fun shipping moments. And they remind me of SoKai some. And that's my ultimate OTP. And anything that reminds me of SoKai, I also end up shipping like crazy.
But, while I'll always prefer NeShiki... I'm not gonna lie, part of me was kind of disappointed that there was so little of them and so little Shiki in Neo? I feel like if the first game hadn't done so much for them for me, they could have been moved out of their spot of OTP for me? IDK. Part of me wishes that Shiki had been involved trying to find Neku somehow? But then again... I also don't want her to have killed herself, or anything like that! And I'm glad that she lived her life to the fullest, and accomplished her dream--that's what Neku would have wanted for her, too--and I'm even worried that if she had tried to find Neku, she would have gotten the Kairi from Kingdom Hearts treatment... which definitely wouldn't have been good and we also don't need a copy of that plot, so...
But then I look at what Neo did give them, and think that it--tied with their stuff from the first game--is more than enough. Much more than enough. And that I'm crazy for wanting anymore.
Anyway, this has gotten super long now, and maybe even confusing (though hopefully not!). I pray this answers your question at all. Shutting up now!

@hannikka Regarding a comment on this post. “i know this ask has nothing to do with me, but i will be honest with you, before you said to take this with a grain of salt i was going to fight you XD (not really, but still XD) because i definitely and actually fell in love as in real lovewhen i was very young and it lasted years, so i was horrified for a moment, but then again like you, said our experiences are not universa” Again, like I said, I have not been a child in a very long time and I am demisexual so my threshold for attraction is VERY different from the standard. I can only speak from my experiences as a child and what I’ve seen regarding other kids I’ve worked with. It’s not impossible to fall in love, real genuine love, as a kid. I just think that’s VERY rare for it to happen and it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Obviously this is anectdotal rather than data driven and even then, in the USA, narratives involving children and romance are heavily sanitized because in the USA implying that children are people with feelings like adults is very scary strawberry territory for censors because god forbid we imply children are complex people. Even worse if we imply children and adults can be friends, good heavens. The USA tiptoes around intergenerational friendships like a plague corpse in the street because if something even remotely resembles pedophilia, it’s BAD. Like, the USA buries that shit so hard, to the point where when the Professor Layton games came out I was confused for the longest time about what relation Luke had to Layton because in the USA one does not simply just have a grown man mentoring a young boy that isn’t his son or a blood relative of some sort. Like... there were memes about Layton being a guy that kidnaps orphans because that, for some reason, seemed more probable than the actual explanation which is that Luke is the son of one of Latyon’s close friends, and he and Luke bonded over solving a mystery together in town. Hell, even Layton being adopted was kind of a revelation for me when that showed up in the narrative because the USA had a BAD track record of underrepresenting non-traditional family structures. So I’m sure my view on children is partially cultural as well. The USA doesn’t want to admit it but we’re STILL barely out of that old phase of “children should be seen and not heard” bullshit of treating kids like extensions of their parents and swung right around to some weird other extreme of “if we even acknowledge kids at all, we either make them wise beyond their years or infantalize them to hell and back because what even is a child anyway? Baby? Yeah, we know what that is. Helpless cinnamon roll that can never do anything bad ever. Teenager? Yeah we know what that is. That’s like that weird stage of development where you’re like an adult but with now power and lots of feelings and you’re terrible with everything. IDK if I just grew up overly sheltered (which is probably the case) but like... seeing all these new shows on Netflix that acknowledge that teenagers have sex feels... transgressive somehow. Like, I LIKE that we’re acknowledging it. Because we’ve known for ages it happens and clearly doing pearl-clutching and trying to pretend it doesn’t won’t stop teen pregnancy. But it feels so terribly RECENT that we’re actually not actively shoving that under the rug. The Lion King (the good animated one, not the CG one) firmly cemented in my head when I was a wee baby watching it that “friends” and “lovers” were separate categories (even though Nala and Simba are a couple, LOL) because like, yeah, thinking about getting married to my best friends was WEIRD (even at a time in my life when a lot of my friends were boys. XD) So I was totally with Simba when he was like “Ew, I can’t marry her! She’s my friend!” It’s really only been in recent years that the idea of friendship and romantic/sexual relationships aren’t mutually exclusive has become mainstream. Or at least, it’s only recently that I aged into a group where these stories were targeted. IDK, I feel like I’m getting into the weeds here and talking in circles. But the point is YES, I am totally only speaking from my own experiences here, I am 100% not an authority, I am only giving an opinion, and my opinion is largely shaped by experiences and media that are not universal by any means. XD. I was relatively sheltered, have conservative parents, was a neuroatypical child and still am neuroatypical as an adult, turned out to be demisexual which is pretty different considering most of the world is some flavor of allosexual, an I grew up in the USA where basically the only acceptable adult/child relationships are parent/child and teacher/student (and if you’re a teacher you’re on thin fucking ice, fucking YIKES) because the USA treats every other possible interaction between an adult and child as highly suspect. The only factors I have mitigating these views is that I’ve worked with kids and took developmental psychology in college. So I am aware children are a lot more complex than the culture in the USA gives them credit for being. Children aren’t some weird alien species. They’re largely just very tiny adults with very little power/little ability to act on their agency and very little experience. I have met 10 year olds I would trust more than I trust myself, honestly. Kids that are more mature than me and just... understand things I would definitely NOT have at the same age. So, like, again, I’m not saying it’s impossible for kids to fall in love. I’m just saying that usually kids aren’t concerned with that, and when they ARE, they’re usually practicing the particulars of love. but this is just from my own childhood and my limited experience working with grade school kids. Kids I worked with were far more interested in friendships than romances, and as a kid, my romantic interests were, like, Link from Ocarina of Time and I couldn’t decide if I liked fucking Knuckles the Echidna as a dad or as a boyfriend and I think I settled on dad material because I have an old old old illustrated story that I might have even uploaded here where Knuckles is my dad. XD So, like, for real, take my opinions with a FAT grain of salt because I am literally just a goofy goober and have been in exactly 2 romantic relationships and one of them only lasted a year. XD (The other is basically from college until now which is practically 10 years, but also largely long-distance so, like. Definitely not the usual experience. XD) But also, for real, if I say something controversial, weird, or just plain wrong, you can 100% feel free to fight me because I am an idiot and I say dumb shit all the time. That one debunked post that went around about the “Azhar Library bombing” is a big case in this. XD I am basically an educated adult child. I know some things, but more than anything I know enough to realized that I actually know VERY LITTLE and my whole life should be a learning experience. So I am absolutely not opposed to being wrong and getting taught things because that’s honestly half the reason I’m even remotely as good a person as I am today because I was a garbage kiddo and a garbage teenager and still probably a garbage young adult and was educated out of it. I have a lot of internalized beliefs that were changed because of college and listening to people online, and I can only learn more and grow more my having good friends throw down and fight me over stuff when I say a dumb thing. XD Literally I am probably only on the Left because good people educated me on politics when no one else would. I legit could have been one of those awful cases of a disenchanted teen that was led down the alt-right pipeline. Scary to think of but my parents weren’t teaching me so thankfully better people stepped up to do it. So, legit, you are welcome to fight me any time, man. I want to learn. I want to be inoculated against bad ideas and educated away from any bad opinions I hold.

Okay. I rattle on a lot about ages... so figure I might drop my brain thinkings into a post so if anyone is curious how I arrive at my estimates... well... here you go. Hang onto your hats... I’m about to drop a LOT of info. XDDD
Okay. I rattle on a lot about ages... so figure I might drop my brain thinkings into a post so if anyone is curious how I arrive at my estimates... well... here you go. Hang onto your hats... I’m about to drop a LOT of info. XDDD
There’s a few things to establish first... some facts and things I’m gonna assume based on how things are presented.
The series starts in 2060 (as quoted by Virgil in Ring of Fire)
If Alan is graduating now, he’s probably 18 (as I mentioned in reply to blanket-fish and few others ^^) and usually that’d be June-ish in NA school systems... and since we’re dealing with american characters and largely american writers, including the head writer... I’m goin’ with that!... SO... current eps would be around then.
Also gonna assume Scott is about 10 years older than Alan. (Some old TAG magazine that I hold to a grain of salt said 9 years... but I mean. 10 is nicer and I mean... TECHNICALLY with how their birthdays are... you could say actually they’re 9 years and lil’ over 11 months apart. SO, then that would make it 9 years technically if you really wanna round down. lol BUT yeah, I’m goin’ with 10.)
So first let’s talk about spacing. Generally when I age the boys I try to give them at LEAST 18 months between them... which is really the amount of time one should give themselves between pregnancies at the very least. That’s easy for most of them... only John and Gordon come in a bit under that, but we’ll get back to that.
SO... I wanna go with, as of current eps, Scott is 28.
That’d make him born April 4th, 2035. (I think that’s right anyways.) Then we can make Virgil August 15th, 2037. (Which puts them 2 years and several months between.) John then October 8th, 2039, also over 2 years apart from Virgil... perf. THEN.. Gordon.
Gordon is the 14th of February. Now to make him 2041 that would mean their Mom had Gordon a lot sooner... like VERY lot sooner than like... the recommended time off after John. They’re such troublemakers those two. XDDD (THEY are, in fact, the reason TOS Virgil and John were switched. The company (that owned TOS at the time) wanted to make a “style guide” and  wanted the birthdates to match one info with a tighter age spread with John 22 and Gordon 21... which meant Gordon would be born 4 months after John. Which would be a WEE BIT IMPOSSIBLE. In the end they decided to switch John and Virg and tweak things to fit... that’s the tl;dr version of the story, but yeah!) SO yeah, the better choice might be to shove him another year to 2042, which then leaves plenty of time and is better for their Mom.
OKAY. SO. In current time then...
Scott is 28, Virgil 25 (26 in like less than 2 months), John 23 (24 in less than 4 months), Gordon then could be 21 (or 22 but ehhh) and Alan 18.
Then as for some of the other cast... Kayo is kinda hard to place these days, though I feel like given how she interacts with the older boys she is definitely a little on the older scale... but IDK where exactly. In TOS Tin-Tin was 22 and birthday June 20th, but that was to be close to Alan.
Penelope has come up... especially that line in RoF about her looking into things for Jeff. Don’t forget her looking into things is her and Parker looking into things. He’d be most likely one digging into stuff for her. XDa But yeah hrm... 17-18 then making her 25-26 now doesn’t sound so bad? lol 26 was actually her listed age in TOS. (Her birthday being Christmas Eve.) Once you get into your 20s and onwards a few years between people becomes nothing in regards to her and Gordon. ^^b And yeah. IDK. Late teen for sleuthing doesn’t bother me, but then I’ve grown up reading the likes of Nancy Drew and such, soooo... XDa Even being 16 isn’t tooooooooooo far fetched imho, but yeah. That line didn’t age well. lol Oops.
Grandma is a big \O_o/ And Jeff’s January 2nd birthday and was 56... I’d guess something similar in TAG, less perhaps a few years. ^^b That works fine for the boys. (Mid-late 20s then when Scott was born.)
And Brains... November 14th, for the record and in TOS he was 25, but I really do believe he’s much older in TAG. Well into his 30s even, since he’s been to university and worked for Fischler awhile after... then Jeff happened. Brains likely woulda been late teen or early 20s then? Then the TV-21 was built and sank... Scott was ‘just a kid’ when that happened. So like... 28... minus 8 years, minus maybe another 5-6? to make Scott 15-14... so near Alan’s ‘just a kid’ type age? But coulda been even bit younger. Plus then add a year or two working for Jeff and making the TV-21 and everything... Then if say he was least 18 when came to work for Jeff... Def talking in the realm of mid-30s. SO. That is my guess. lol (And so why I tend to think of Brains being like... older surrogate brother or uncle to the boys... cause he woulda met them all when they were decidedly kids.)
SO YEAH. These are my brain thinkings. I feel like I’m forgetting something, but I am le-tired. Be interesting to see if we get any more clues from the last ep or if Rob spills some data on twitter, which he has suggested he might least in regards to Jeff... so we shall see. XDa
OH lastly... for any of my fellow visual folk here’s my lil’ helpful chart that shows how I figured out time between birthdates of the older boys. (Remember you need 9ish (very much ISH) months for being pregnant. Then they recommend 18 months between being pregnant... yes Virg and John are a titch under that, but least not by TOO too much.)

As a med student I feel you might understand me on this. Im a biochemistry student and I would appreciate it if people stopped having hearts and blood vessels cause I dont understand NONE OF THAT SHIT and I still have to study like... THE REST OF THE GOD DAMNED BODY and i only have TWO WEEKS and I'm scared
Ouch this was a page taken straight from my journal lol.
Arteries and veins are generally not that hard to study, it was usually what I would use to guarantee myself easy points in my anatomy exams.
For me at least the key was in the repetition. Drawing them over and over was in the end what made me remeber the names.
As in for topographical anatomy for limphatic/irrigation I just relied 90% on atlas and very little on textbook, mostly just the hardcore important relations you HAVE to know. Honeslty, this would be my biggest most solid advice to anyone in this position.
Use the atlas more than anything else. Repeat after me.
Use the damn atlas.
Yes, textbook is fundamental and I'm not taking away from that at all. I'm just saying, try to use both resources at the same time but always focus more on the atlas.
So yeah. That, best of lucks with your exam, if there's anything I could help you with, feel free to dm (though I can't guarantee I'll have all the answers) and as for atlas. The ones i used are :
Netter, always and forever in my heart.
Prometheus, when situation was dire.
Anatomylearning.com for online interactive 3D atlas though it's lacking a lot of detail when it comes to brain and muscle data.
(this is just friendly advice taken solely from my experience alone, take it with a grain of salt.)

Yeah I got a little bit crazy the other night after seeing an ad for a business consultant guy who reckons everyone else is doing it all wrong and he’s the only guy with the answers blah blah oh but he’s not trying to scam you or anything, you just need to sit through his 1h+ video and sign up to some $2000 course hahahaha get lost! So I ended up making the image below, and the 1300 word rant, and now the video above, what is my life lmao!
Tumblr media
Before you trust a business or social media "guru", check to make sure their claimed successful business is something other than what they're currently trying to sell you. If their only other major achievement was in the past, make sure it wasn't a fluke. And even then, take EVERYTHING they say with a grain of salt - everyone who has a business is trying to make money, but the ones trying to sell you dreams of success, oh boy, what a fucking minefield!
The tl;dr - think for yourself, do your research, and do NOT open your wallet unless you are 100% satisfied that: 1. it's not a scam 2. they know their stuff, and 3. you NEED them because you have a problem you can't solve for free by googling it yourself.
(If you're just lazy though, tbh, to some extent you deserve to lose your money over this shit.)
And now for the rant portion of this post.
I'm fucking sick of "business consultants" who go on about their own successful business - but that business turns out to be the one that YOU are about to pay for! They are ONLY successful because of lemmings like YOU!
I'm also sick of these guys on YouTube who reckon they have the secrets to YouTube - but their only really successful channel is the one YOU are currently watching to get advice from. They are ONLY successful because YOU watch their advice!
And the same goes for a lot of the other social media champions out there. Would they have been successful if they were trying to promote or advance something other than the amazing secrets to success? Or are they just exploiting the insecurity and desperation of others, which boosts their numbers, which gives the illusion of them being usefully successful?
I say "usefully" successful because a lot of them seem to be genuinely successful in their consulting businesses, but if it's only because of their claimed status as Holders of Secrets, then be very suspicious, especially if they talk up their own success as part of their marketing pitch to you!
And yes, presumably they had to start somewhere, to get that initial following of lemmings, but... this is the internet! They can just pay someone to make their accounts look impressive to get it started! If you cannot find out how they got their initial success and why people initially started taking advice from them, stop! You should never blindly trust anyone, but these people especially! No transparency? No sale!
This is important, because if they couldn't gain real success in whatever you're trying to find success in, how can you trust their advice will work for your specific situation? You don't know! Unless I guess if your goal is to also become a Holder of Secrets, which some of the business consultant types in particular suggest you do, ew, the circle of exploitation, gross!
Also be wary if their success as a business or social media guru came before whatever other success they end up having. Once you have a loyal following in one area, it's not as difficult to leverage it for another thing you'd have had no chance at if you'd done it the way you're telling your lemmings to do it.
Of course, even without genuine success in whatever they're promoting, some of what they tell you may be legit, or may be applicable to you, but you WILL have to think for yourself. There are so many of these wankers out there, at times with conflicting opinions and advice, and particularly in the fast-moving ever-changing area of social media, a lot of them are just making their theories up as they go, or blindly following some other guru's opinion then passing it off to you as if they know for certain that it works. This is why you need to take it all with a grain of salt. Use your own brain, do your own testing, don't treat them like all-knowing gods.
Speaking of fast-moving and ever-changing, let's look at those who WERE genuinely successful in your area of interest before becoming a consultant... are they still doing well? Because what worked yesterday may not work today. If they've switched entirely to their consulting business, lol, guess where the money is? It's in their consulting, not in the area they used to be successful in. If they aren't still active in the current market, you need to ask why. Did they genuinely switch careers because they want to help up-and-comers like you? Or did they do it because they couldn't keep up, and consulting is all they have left? (Or just greed/less effort/etc.)
Also, never mind people trying to scam you, or giving bad/obvious advice, or even giving genuine helpful advice! Before you start paying them, do some goddamn research to make sure you couldn't just learn their "secrets" for free by putting in the tiniest bit of effort yourself. This is especially true if they're trying to sell you some course, because if you can't be bothered to do the tiniest bit of googling, chances are you don't have the concentration span to complete it, even in the off-chance it does turn out to be quality, so you're still probably paying them for nothing.
And if they are on the useless side of the force, you need to realise that them selling you a lacklustre course is the EASIEST way for them to make money off the mindless. The course is already set up, waiting for you to take it. Zero ongoing effort from them! Whereas if it's one-on-one consulting, at least you know you're getting some time from them, even if their advice turns out to be crap (or obvious shit like "hey, you haven't listed your website on your profile", wow, you've gotta be really lazy to pay for that kinda advice). Oh sure, maybe the course took them a while to build, but once it's there, they can just go flog it off to any sucker willing to pay $2000 upfront! Oh, you read a good review? Are you sure it wasn't fake or paid for?? Remember, this is the internet!!
Anyway, I have more I could say, but THANKS A LOT ASSHOLE TURNING UP IN MY ADS WITH YOUR GARBAGE SCAM!! LOOK AT ALL THE TIME I'VE WASTED GOING DOWN THIS RABBIT HOLE BECAUSE OF YOU!! Well not just you, because these things have been annoying me for ages now, but I could have done something with my evening, instead I was researching your history and what you're actually trying to sell behind the 1h+ video and where you came from and how you contradict yourself and then however long it took for me to write this rant and make my silly picture in an obsessive rage...! FUCK YOU, I HOPE A METEOR SMASHES INTO YOUR RENTED PENTHOUSE YOU WANKER!!
The best part about that guy is where he totally bags out social media... yet he posted a Facebook ad to bring his irritating existence to my attention, and also has every other social media account anyway. Oh so getting off social media will improve my business aspirations will it? WELL WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE THIS?? Also, you are NOT making $30 million a year, you idiotic liar. You might as well start your own Nigerian Prince scam with how obvious your nonsense is. Lucky for you, enough dumbshits exist to keep both you and the Princes in business!
[insert extended rant here]
Hey there gurus with a thing to sell. If you wanna impress me, tell me some useful advice I can't find out for free, or easily work out for myself. I enjoy learning about these things, but hurrah for the open internet, I'll be keeping my $2000 to myself! Your secrets are bullshit.
Goddamnit, I've missed my bed time deadline.
I'm not even running a business, why is this shit being advertised to me? Thanks again, scary big data privacy breach machine lol.

this is my top 10 right now on lastfm apparently, take it with a grain of salt
so what should be higher cause i listened to it at least like 20 or 30 times in the time between when it came out and when i made this account. and obviously picky picky would be way higher if this actually extended to the last 365 days instead of just to mid february. like its not factually completely accurate but it is pretty true all things considered, i mean its literally based on my listening habits, it just cant get the whole picture lol, since it only applies to things i listen to on my laptop, not my phone, and also there might be errors or other things like that. also since my chrome extension picks up on videos of live performances too, those are counted, and maybe i shouldnt count those... like it would just "scrobble" (record a listen of the song) the youtube video title unless i manually edit the info to match the song's info so it records a watch of one of those videos as a listen of the song, but maybe i shouldnt do that? but on the other hand, i mean, i am hearing the song... though idk that's not like *why* im watching the video, so yeah maybe i should stop it from doing that... idk lol
ive always wanted some sort of way to see this kind of info though so i love iti love data and statistics, especially when its about things that i do lol, which is weird cause im not into math. but like i spend more time than i probably should trying to get certain songs to certain places on my lastfm... i should just let it happen organically, probably. like i'll intentionally listen to songs that i love that i just havent happened to listen to much this year in order to get their count to a number that reflects my actual thoughts on the song, but like, idk, i should just let that happen naturally, if i really like it then it'll get there eventually just because i'll listen to it when i want to, or it wont because i didnt feel like listening to it, so that'd be an accurate reflection of that. i get really obsessed with this kind of thing, for lack of a better term. its like keeping track of music video viewcounts except its something i have control over haha, it was bound to ruin me
also yes, scream has almost 160 more listens than the song in 2nd place, and almost 200 more than the song in 10th place. it has 250 more listens than the song in 50th place, lol. part of that is from watching every scream live stage and fancam i guess, though again, when i do that i am still hearing the song, so even if i maybe shouldnt count that as a listen on this website, it does still count as an instance of hearing the song in my human life with my human ears... anyway i checked and a little under half of those listens came in the first week the song came out, i apparently listened to it 113 times in the first week. i’m.... like that. i don’t just listen to a lot of music, i listen to a lot of the same music, over and over, partly because i like appreciating new things on subsequent listens, and partly because i just get really attached to the vibe of a song. i put on songs just to have them on while i do other stuff most of the time, i’m not even paying that close attention. i’ll have the music video up too since thats how i listen to the majority of the music i listen to, and i dont necessarily watch it intently, but having it in the corner of my eye while i scroll tumblr on the other side of the screen just like places me somewhat in the aesthetic of the song and video and i like that. i do that with non-song videos too, like just random episodes of monster factory or unraveled that ive seen a million times, i’ll just put them on and not even pay that close attention, but just have them in my ears to distract me and affect my mood (in a positive way). that’s why my scrobble count for some songs is so high. i just listen to them a lot because i like setting my own mood. it’s like lighting a candle. but they only last for 3 to 4 minutes, of course.

how's grade 12 treating you?
It’s been pretty alright so far, anon! But, I’m only almost 2 weeks in. In Bio, we’ve yet to start any actual course content which is a tad frustrating. Tomorrow we’re doing a lab with observing stomata (which I did in Grade 11 bio when I took that back in grade 10.) The teacher is really good though, and he really loves to teach the course which is exciting.
Funcal (or rather Advanced Functions atm) is pretty chill. I have that every day since unlike my other courses it runs like a semestered course. A tiny bit disappointed I only got a 90 on the quiz I wrote yesterday, but I have a test next Monday so hopefully I can do well on that. My teacher is absolutely fantastic, I’ve never had a teacher as enthusiastic about math as she is, it’s wonderful.
Data Management (which I’m not actually officially enrolled in as of yet, but I’m currently auditing the course) is insanely easy, permutations are super simple lol. Hopefully, I’ll be officially in the course by next week since yesterday my teacher told me he spoke with one of the VPs as well as my guidance counselor and since 5 kids have never shown up, they’ll be auto-dropped allowing me to get in officially. Regardless of whether or not that works out by next week, the teacher is still gonna give me a textbook and let me do the upcoming evaluation, so I’m pretty much in it lol. (I’ve been going to guidance super often which has been a bit stressful.) The teacher is also the same teacher who taught me grade 11 functions, so he’s wonderful and I really love him.
Ap English has been interesting so far. It’s the same English teacher I had last year and last year she kicked off his first official lessons with “Truth is subjective and based on your experiences.” But, I know to take about 90% of the things she says with a grain of salt since she tends to make everything sound way more important than it possibly could be.
Classical Civilization is super chill and it’s my Latin teacher from grades 9, 10, and 11, so 50% of the reason I took the course was to have him as a teacher again lol
And Chemistry is pretty chill so far. Basically, everything we’re doing is with Thermochemistry atm which we did quite a bit of in Grade 11 physics. (Like Q=mcΔT and other stuff.)
So, yeah things are going pretty great aside from all the guidance complications haha.
Thanks for asking, anon!
