love the 90s yellowjackets scenes because it's the funniest assortment of characters you've ever seen. you've got the virgin laura palmer, her homoerotic girl best friend who's pregnant from an affair with laura palmer's boyfriend, a hot prophet and her devotee who explodes, a lesbian who eats dirt in her sleep, her girlfriend who gets her face eaten by a wolf due to the sleep dirt eating, a girl who is trying to drug and manipulate an adult gay man into loving her, a bottle blonde who was complicit in the death of her father, and also some guy named travis. travis is definitely also there.

do you guys have any book recommendations? i like horror, mystery, ones that just take u on a little feel good adventure. really anything other than fantasy and YA stuff.

i've put some thought into it because i LOVE frank and his son of neptune arc especially but like...did his mom need to be dead for it? i'm so back and forth on this like sacrifice and duty are obviously big parts of his arc but i feel like he could have had the same angst if his mom was just absent. idk. also his mom died SIX WEEKS before son of neptune which no one remembers because he doesn't behave like someone who's mom died six weeks ago (or like someone who only learned about being a demigod six weeks ago).

#also original series pointedly did NOT fridge percy's mom #only for hoo to be like FUCK EM!! #i was watching friday night lights which has a plot where a kid has a military parent and is left with his grandma #and is understandably resentful about being left #idk i think you could get a similar frank arc #also like he should have been at camp jupiter for way longer. 'i can't do anything right! i haven't been claimed!' he was there for a month #should have been a year at least

hey exposure and accessibility to theatre is incredibly important btw. theatre teaches people so much about empathy and compassion for others btw. professional theatre sure but also children’s theatre, high school theatre, community theatre, all of it deserves attention and love btw. theatre is a very powerful force for humanity btw. just! by! the! way!!!!!!

watching TNG is like:

bUt tHe pRiMe dIrEcTiVe

Picard making the tough calls of putting the ship in front of one or a few people

they all take orders and ask permission to speak freely cause *professionalism*

Riker constantly telling Picard to stay safe on the ship because protocol in a regular, non-homoerotic manner (no hate to shippers)

they can get into more complex moral and philosophical quandaries because Picard thinks before every decision

Jim's got two modes: fight and flirt and he will use both if given the chance

scotty is ready to disobey orders at any and every second, like who put the chief engineer who never wants to leave engineering third in command

Bones is just, on the bridge and every other mission cause he's Jim's lil grouchy buddy, and he's always shouting and picking fights with Spock

Jim goes on almost every away mission and Spock doesn't fight it, I like to think because he's realized arguing is useless and Jim's even more likely to get hurt if Spock's not there

I’m watching Forged in Fired and you can’t convince me that the Hephaestus cabin doesn’t have their own little Forged in Fire competitions every like month or so 🤧

Their judges would probably be comprised of a Hephaestus kid (to judge forging technique), an Ares kid (to do the practical judging like cut or strength tests), and an Athena kid (likely to check how closely the “finals” blades hold up to the historical blades they’re making, as well as other perimeter tests).
