Something I wish was touched on more in the books:

Vakama's mathematics skills. We know all Ta-Matoran are mathematicians, which they needs to be so they get the right angles and measurements for masks, and we know math for them is like a second language

Imagine if, while the Toa Metru are in the archives due to the flood, someone asks how big the archives really are. Whenua says they span across Onu-Metru, mostly, but there are some linked to other Metrus. When asked about the size in miles, EVERYONE is shocked to hear Whenua AND Vakama answer, the two also surprising each other because they get the same answer. Whenua asks how Vakama knows and Vakama admits he just estimated how long the tunnel they were in was, then estimated the size of Onu-Metru and some other Metrus like Ga-Metru and even the Coliseum, and then converted the feet into miles. Everyone has their reactions. Onewa is quietly impressed and annoyed at having a sometimes genius on his team, Matau thinks Vakama is a nerd but is trying not to fall head over heels, Nokama and Nuju are impressed, and Whenua has some more respect for Vakama

Imagine Matau, Nokama, and Vakama seeing the squad of Vahki in Po-Metru and when Matau says there are hundreds, Vakama murmurs that it's actually just two hundred and fifteen. Cue some, "For real? Right now?" Eyesnfrom Matau and Nokama before Vakama gives his plan for how they get past them

Imagine if, during the Hordika arc, in the way Bomonga uses the archives and the knowledge of them to help Whenua not give in to his urges, Norik does a similar thing by wondering what angles the rafters are on from where he and Vakama are standing. Vakama, knee deep in his pain and despair, doesn't want to indulge the Rahaga's "nonsense," but Norik plays coy and half-lies that he's a little rusty on his math and just wants to see if his guess is a good one. Vakama relents and gives the angle as they walk. Rinse and repeat with Vakama growing more reluctant to partake in Norik's game, but Norik ultimately reveals that he's only doing it because he knows it'll help them both; rather than stewing in something emotional and digging a hole that can't be climbed out of, focusing on something more cognitive like the mathematics that comes so easily to Ta-Matoran and Ta-Metru locals will help Vakama focus because he will not be able to save anyone, let alone himself, if he's mulling over what's happened to him and what he did to cause it. After a while of more walking, Vakama, seeing Norik stop by a statue, asks NORIK if he knows the height of the statue, getting petty because he suspects Norik was possibly BS-ing and genuinely curious to see what Norik still knows, and Norik admits he has an estimate, and that's based off of how tall a Toa is and how many of a single Toa it would take to be as tall as the statue. When Norik gives his answer, he asks Vakama about his method of estimating and how it compares. Vakama, not to gloat, uses a similar method, but it's based on how tall a Matoran is and how many Matoran heigh it is. Regardless, the two get a similar answer, as Vakama "swotches" to Norik's method and gets an answer close to what Norik had. It's Norik's turn to try and not gloat, as he asks Vakama how he feels, now that he's more or less been distracted. Vakama, realizing he got played, begrudgingly admits he does feel a little bit better, but doesn't appreciate being tricked. Norik only tells him that he didn't really trick Vakama, just gave him a tool to help him, if he needs it

Imagine, while he sees the horde of visorak, Sidorak gives the number of roughly a thousand, but when his back is turned, Vakama says there's actually MORE than a thousand, much to the surprise of Roodaka. He doesn't give his reason for how he knows, only saying he just does

Idk, I just love the idea of Vakama being so attuned with math, mainly because I hate math🤣

This could be the first mention of him killing in his school age.

My first impression when I saw this post was literally "sir this is not like you".

This school phase post really came out of left field here because before this he was only described as a withdrawn, loner type.

While he was mentioned killing during streams and stuff after the blog stopped updating, the other school age posts on Tumblr before this date didn't mention him killing.

If anything, his school and goth phase was written more for laughs and embarrassment, general silliness not murder.

(I think in general he was initially characterized as someone who never murdered before he met you, but this changed later on, perhaps for the purpose of the game.)

if there's a thing that I don't understand about this fandom is how SO MANY people hate Tim Drake. For what???? For what reason????? Why??? What is going on here he's just a 17 year old that dc has no idea of what to do with his character since 2009

The kid is not even annoying he's just a seventeen. And it's so weird that people go wild on the hating. I've heard people saying he's not even supposed to be a character and then I just think "oh shit is the robin slander from 1989 again".

"I'm so tired of the constantly reminder about Jason and Tim on the T tower" You mean when his dead brother who wasn't actually dead showed up from nothing and beat his ass to the ground?????

You really- Look deep into my eyes and tell me you think it's not traumatizing I dare you.

Also the whole "Tim Drake is unnecessary and boring" take should die.

This is a 30 year old character. If he's around for so long it has a reason, we all know there were times he was extremely helpful and necessary. We all know dc writers sucks and we all know the kid haven't got good writing in years.

"Oh but he's stans are annoying." So avoid them?? what the poor soul has to do with any of this.

And also, I specially don't like that because he is one of the first bisexual characters to appear in mainstream media IN YEARS, really really popular mainstream media. It doesn't sound like it's too much because we've been gaining many representation, but this is big. This is important. Tim Drake, not matter how much you hate him, is important.

(wip from a....couple days ago?)

IRL has been annoyingly busy and while I have quite a few projects simmering, this particular piece frustrated me so much that I put everything else on hold until I finish it. I think it’s definitely beyond my current abilities but the rats in my skull won’t let me do the “come back to it when you DO have the skills”. So imagine me sitting here questioning myself in every regard over the last week+ 😂

Anyway, Link & Zelda piece coming up because I sold my body to TotK. I’m [probably] going to celebrate finishing this bitche by doing something small on twitter, so keep a lookout on there. In between those shenanigans, I’ll resume work on some actual OC stuff :3

See, I don’t think Shindo would be all that cocky to you specifically in a relationship. I think he’d be an entirely normal, nice boyfriend until something happened, say: you get hit on when you’re out, he runs into competitor, someone is mean to you...

THEN he’s turning into the cocky bastard that we know and love, and it’s both exciting and... kind of a nightmare LOL.

no, the word was "masmasak" ("musmusak?" idk how to write in fingilisi...) which like honestly... i have realistically never heard anyone use that in ANY context other than about the remote control!!!!!! that's why i just thoUGHT THAT WAS THE WORD!!!!!!!

He didn’t know how the wizards down in the café did it, but this truly was a job well done, and he’d be sure to leave a generous tip, as a “thank you” for making this grand night of celebration for his angel something special.

His stealing of food and leaving generous tips from his equally-generous salary quickly became a part of the Opera Ghost mythos, once he arrived there: Although there was a lot of debate early on over whether or not ghosts could really eat or if there was somebody else sneaking around stealing food, that was all put to rest when he’d left them a note, complimenting a lunch he’d had (he’d heard someone in the dining room of the café say “my compliments to the chef!”, and so he thought it’d be polite to do the same). From then on, they knew it was the Ghost, who came to dine fairly regularly, and could expect a nice tip in return.

(That was how they could tell when someone else was stealing food-the second party, when they did work there, did not tip when they absconded with things like desserts and fresh baked goods. Needless to say, said second party did not last long there, and was let go after being caught trying to run off with a whole fruit pie the cooks had labored over that day. Good thing too-it was a strawberry pie, and Randall himself had designs on it!)

#amber rambles #listening to the song Our Word and thinking about Mae #mae growing up with his mom and dad just kinda teaching him to casually lie which he uses to keep the peace in the House of Finwe #and him regretting the three kinslayings and begging screaming and blaming them for it #sacking of Doriath with mae crying and holding a dying Caranthirs hand with curufin and celegorm dead beyond them #cuts to him chasing the twins in the forest and then suddenly hes in front of Elwing #covered in his brothers blood as she sneers and jumps from the window. He reaches out for her #the world blurs and then hes being held back by Maglor as Amrod screams in the boats as they burn #hes still reaching out for his brother and weeping as the music slows down he calms himself down #scars appear on his face and he wipes his eyes he bends down to lift Elrond and Elros onto horses and sending them on their way to Gilgalad #he and Maglor steal the last Silmarils his hand burns and Maedhros looks around until he sees the crack in the earth and the lava #he stumbles almost in a daze to the edge and its like the phantoms of Nerd and Fea are calling him forward. Maglor turns around and screams #Mae keeps walking as Maglor scrambles to reach him despite his pain. his hand closes a breath away from Maes hair as the elder falls #Maglor screams. Eonwe looks on coldly before turning away on the last “their word on its own” meaning Maes story never gets fairly told
