Coach Syverson
Tumblr media
Okay, Y'all I'm trying something new and posting one of my Henry Cavill Character fics. I haven't posted a fanfic in so long it's gonna be a short story probably only a two-parter maybe 3. Let me know what you think! I loved writing this. I think it's so cute!!!!
Warnings: None for Part 1 :) Definitely will be smut in part 2!
High school football coach Sy and school guidance counselor OFC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was locked in a trance,  typing in progress notes from an early morning meeting I’d just finished with a student.  The sounds of the office, which was just coming to life outside my door, fuelled me. I almost never came in this early. But, one of my seniors was having a crisis and this was the only time we could work into her busy schedule. It’s gonna break my heart when that girl graduates this year. I get so attached to the students. I can’t help working as a school counselor. It's hard not to.
“You’re in early,” The voice coming from the doorway made me jump. He chuckled softly.  “Didn’t mean to scare ya.”  After a brief heart attack, I finally looked up. I smiled when my eyes met his.
“No, it’s okay, I just didn’t see you! Good morning Coach, What can I do for you?” His soft blue eyes held my gaze, before shooting me a gentle smile. Coach Syverson and I had become good friends since he started working at the school a little over a year ago. Like many good high school football coaches, they made a history teaching spot for him. Unlike others, he’s actually a great teacher!
I met Logan Syverson for the first time in a staff meeting. Our principal introduced him at the beginning of the meeting going on and on about all the improvements he would bring to our team and our community. He certainly looked like a football player. The guy was huge! Tall, large muscles, and a full beard. His eyes were a deep blue. He had a winning smile and a southern accent. The English department was drooling. I hated him immediately.
I figured he was just going to be a self absorbed prick like the last coach. who only cared about the popular students, peaked in high school, and got fired because he got a little too close to one of the cheerleaders. We were not at all sorry to see him go. Well, those of us with half a brain weren’t anyway. Some of the community and staff were more worried about the football program. But I digress.
I was even more annoyed with him when I caught him falling asleep during the same meeting 30 minutes later when we were discussing the budget for new textbooks. I’m not exactly sure what came over me but I kicked him under the table. He was immediately alert. I expected him to glare at me. Or maybe even smirk. But the look on his face could only be described as apologetic. He quickly caught up to me when we were leaving the meeting. “Some first impression I made, huh?” When I didn’t immediately respond he added. “I swear I’m not some asshole that doesn’t care about education, that’s not like me, just didn’t sleep much last night. I had to take my dog to the emergency vet, she broke her leg in the woods late in the evening and didn’t get back until late and…”
“Is she okay?” I asked quickly. He looked completely dumbfounded.
“Uhm what?” He asked, clearly confused. I smiled sympathetically. I did exactly what I told my students not to do and judged him too quickly and I felt like an ass about it.
“You’re dog, is she okay?” He smiled softly and nodded.
“Yeah, Yeah she is. They got her all wrapped up and in a cast, poor pup, but she’ll be alright.” There was a brief pause and then. “I’m sorry, what was your name again?”
“The students know me as Miss Plummer, but it’s Alayna. And um.. Sorry I kicked you. I don’t  know why I did that.” I smiled sheepishly.
“Alayna,” He repeated. And then chuckled and squeezed my shoulder “No need to apologize, I’m glad you did. That would’ve been embarrassing. Falling asleep in my first staff meeting doesn’t really look good. Thanks for saving my ass back there!”
 We were fast friends from that point on!
Sy pushed off the door frame he’d been leaning against and walked into my office. “Brought ya coffee, I was gonna sneak in and leave it on your desk but I guess it’s you surprising me this morning,” He said, setting the cup from our local coffee shop down on my desk.
“That’s sweet of you!” I took a sip and almost choked. I expected just plain black coffee. He wasn’t the kind of guy to order fancy coffee. But this was actually my coffee order. “How did you know my coffee order?” He had a big grin on his face now.
“I remembered it from that morning when we ran into each other in line a few weeks ago. Thought I’d be nice and bring my work wife some coffee since I was there.” He shrugged. He really was such a sweetheart. He looked tough and scary. I know he did. When he and a few of the other teachers in the history hall gathered between classes they looked intimidating. At least from a student's perspective.I knew them all well though. I’ve talked with students failing his class because they wouldn’t ask questions. When I asked why, they said they were nervous. But he was certainly no one to be afraid of. Yes, he could yell, but he saved that for the football field. The man was a damn teddy bear.
“Thank you!” I smiled. I quickly looked out into the guidance office to make sure there were no students around. “But I know you didn’t walk all the way down here just to bring me coffee for the hell of it. You’re buttering me up for something. What do you need, Logan?” He laughed and shook his head plopping down on the edge of my desk.
“You know me too well, sugar. Two things!” He said. I rolled my eyes. “Hey now young lady, don’t get an attitude with me I’m not asking you to give up a kidney!” I hid my smirk behind a sip of coffee and nodded at him to continue.  “First, Can you look up Ty’s grades for me just at some point by the end of the day. He came into my office this morning and was all nervous about his algebra grade, swearing up and down it’s because he failed one quiz. But, I’m pretty sure,” I cut him off.
“He’s not turning in his homework because he just started dating Caitlyn and they’ve been staying up texting all night.” He raised an eyebrow.
“Uh, Yeah, How’d you know?”
“Caitlyn stopped in to see me this morning and we had a chat about it, amongst other things. I’ll double check but I’m sure you’re right. I’ll email it to you so you can have a chat with him. I was going to call him in  today but he listens better to you. When you talked about being a veteran and your time in Iraq at the Labor Day assembly, I think that really struck something with him. He looks up to you.” his eyes locked with mine and he smiled softly placing his hand over mine on the desk just for a second.
“Thank you for saying that,” He said before moving his hand and leaning on the desk again. I just smiled.
“What’s the other thing?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Because you could’ve just sent me that in an email.” He smirked. And his nose crinkled a little. Oh no.
“So our first away game is tomorrow night,”
“I know,”
“And you’re a big football fan, and you love those boys don’t you?” He was deflecting
“What do you want, Sy?” I asked again. He let out a long breath.
“Carol was supposed to be a student chaperone for the student fans buuuttt well, you heard her kid is really sick? I need you to come chaperone. Actually. I kinda already said you would.” He quickly stood up from my desk and backed up to the other side, like he was afraid I’d hit him.
I just leaned back in my chair and groaned,
“ugh Sy! What if I had plans?” I cocked an eyebrow at him. He chuckled
“You don’t!” I scoffed
“You don’t know that?” I retorted. He smirked
“Yeah, what big plans do you have for Friday night?” He crossed his arms over his chest and raised an eyebrow. I sighed.
“Okay I don’t! But I could’ve!” I argued. “Why, didn’t you ask one of the other guys? Like Nick or I don’t know Mike?” I asked.
“Nick’s an assistant coach, he’ll already be there. And we both know as much as Mike loves teaching…he does not want to spend his Friday night with the kids and at a football game making sure there’s no funny business. And you love the kids.” He was pleading now. Practically giving me puppy dog eyes. “And…Maybe I want you there,” He winked playfully. I looked down and jiggled the mouse on my computer to hide my blush.
Jessica, who works the front desk of the guidance office swears he flirts with me. But I know he’s not. We’re friends. Good friends. We tease each other to make work a little more fun at best. But that's all it is. A man like Logan Syverson would never look twice at a girl like me. He’s fit and strong and tall and handsome. I’m pretty but I’m short and round and a little too quirky for my own good. Girls like me only get men like him in the movies. And I’m not stupid enough to believe otherwise.  Moment’s like these though. I do wonder a little. But I don’t let my thoughts wander too far.
“Oh yeah?” I joke, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, I mean maybe you’re our good luck charm. You’ve been at all our home games this year and we haven’t lost a game.” He said with a cheeky smile.
“We’ve only had two Sy.” I say matter of fact. He just shakes his head.
“That doesn’t mean you’re not good luck, but okay,” He held his hands up in defeat. “If you don’t want to do it I’ll figure something out. I messed up and didn’t ask you first. I’ll tell the boys their favorite guidance counselor doesn’t want to come support them. It’ll break their little hearts sugar but I’m sure they’ll find,” He pauses and lets out an exaggerated sigh “Some way to pull through and play a good game of football.” He frowned, shaking his head. I crossed my arms and raised my eyebrows looking straight at him.
“Are you done?” I deadpanned. He snickered softly and nodded. “Fine, I’ll go,” He smiled and walked over squeezing my shoulder.
“You’re the best! It’s supposed to be chilly! Wear a sweater! And Free coffee,on me all night! I promise,” I rolled my eyes.
“Yeah, yeah okay,” I chuckled.
“Seriously, I owe you sugar! I’m happy you’ll be there, I better get goin, class starts soon and I probably shouldn’t be late being that I’m the teacher,” He chuckled.
“Get out of my office Logan!” I laughed. He smiled.
“You’re the best!” He said one more time before finally walking out of my office. I shook my head and tapped at the keys on my keyboard to wake up my computer. I felt eyes on me and looked up to find Jessica standing in my doorway.
“Don’t start!” I warned her.
“Please, sugar. I really want you there!” she mocked. “He knows your coffee order, Alayna. How long are you going to ignore what’s right in front of you?” she asked exasperated.
“It’s not like that Jess, He was just being sweet because he needed the help.” I said.
“Like you wouldn’t have done it anyway. You were trying to play coy but we both know you would have done it anyway.” She laughed. I blushed. And threw an eraser at her.
“Get back to work!” She laughed.
“Whatever you say… Sugar!” I snorted and we both chuckled for a minute. “I mean it Alayna, He’ll be kinda busy during the game and yes you’ll be keeping an eye on the students but take the opportunity to flirt back, he likes you, I’m not wrong!” She turned and walked back to her desk before I had a chance to say anything. And before I could spend any more time thinking about it my email notifications went off pulling me back into my work.
The rest of my work day went by in a blur. I had meeting after meeting with students. My seniors were in panic mode, my juniors have early onset senioritis, and the freshman and sophomores came into vent about the daily woes of high school drama. Oh to be 16 again.
With a full schedule of meetings I barely had time to eat lunch even in my office. When my phone lit up with a group text from two of my girlfriends asking about our weekly Thursday night dinner. I was quick to respond.
(I’ll be there!) I sent the text, before packing up my desk for the evening. It had been a late night for me so it was just past 5. I didn’t bother going home first to change into something more casual. They were used to the office style by now. I felt my shoulders relax a little as I slipped into the booth next to skyler.
“Hey!” she said cheerfully, slowly pushing the glass of white wine they’d ordered for me closer.
“You know me so well!” I smiled at her.
“Long day?” Hayley asked from across the table, she picked up a tortilla chip and filled it with queso. I shrugged.
“Not long in the sense that it was rough, just busy,” Skyler nodded and took a sip for her wine glass.
“I feel that. I tried to get some school work done while the kids were down for a nap.” She runs an in-home daycare. She adores kids. But she’s also going back to school for a degree, Pediatric nursing. She’s a saint. I don’t know how she does it.
“I commend you babe. The school is asking me to take classes, they want someone to take on the position as school psychologist. They’ve been trying to nudge me toward it the past couple of weeks. It’d be a raise but, that on top of the current workload? I don’t wanna drown myself ya know?”
“I totally get it, it’s not easy! But you should think about it. You’ve talked about it before! At least consider it.” Skyler said.
“She’s got a point dude,” Hayley added. “Look at you guys moving up in the world while I’m stuck with an art block. If I can’t think of anything, my online shop isn’t gonna take off and I’ll be stuck at the factory forever!” She groaned and downed a quarter of her strawberry lemonade that was no doubt spiked. I looked sideways, meeting Skyler's eye. She was giving me the same look.
“You’re just getting started Hayley.” Skyler said.
“I know but if..”
“Ah, no buts!” I cut her off “We have to allow ourselves room for mistakes and error when we’re trying something new. You will get there. Give yourself the love you give your art! I don’t wanna hear anymore of that self deprecating bullshit from you! The people love their ghost fish!” I demanded, trying to hide a chuckle. She could be so stubborn! She was starting an online etsy shop for commissions and spreading the word through social media. She had all these fun ideas. She was a great artist. But of course it’s not an easy way to make money. And right now, things were slow. She would get there though! I know she would!
“Have I ever told you how annoying it is when you use your psychoanalysis shit on us?” she deadpanned.
“Everyday but I still do it anyway, and that’s why you love me!”  She just laughed.
“Yeah okay buddy. Enough work talk, I lifted a bunch of heavy shit all day and I don’t wanna think about it. I just wanna eat my chips and queso and get drunk with my friends!” She said and scooped another chip through the queso. I laughed and held up my glass
“Cheers to that! Although we all know damn well it’s a Thursday night and we all have to get up early and we drove separately so drunk is relative but yes!” Skyler laughed and clinked her glass with mine.
“Let her have her moment. Cheers to drunk Thursday dinner!” she said.
“Fuck yeah!” Hayley added and added her glass in with ours. We all took a drink and it was quiet for only a second.
“So,” Skyler spoke immediately. “It’s been a week, what's new?”
“Nothing for me, just still considering the offer to go back to school. My job would pay for it. Love life is still dry and I’ve bought like 3 new spicy romance books on my kindle this week!” I said laughing.
“Fun!” Skyler smiled. “Hayley?” She asked and directed her attention across the table.
“I went to Target and spent an obscene amount of money on fall stuff. We have a fall party coming up at work that I volunteered to do face painting for, but that should be fun! Oh there’s this new movie that came out I want you guys to come see with me I was hoping maybe tomorrow night?” she said. I started to agree. But then remembered my conversation with Sy earlier.
“Oh tomorrow night? I can’t. I’m actually busy!” They both looked at me with raised eyebrows.
“Since when are you busy on a friday night?” Hayley asked. Here we go. This is gonna open a whole can of worms. If Jess was good at getting my hopes up about Sy, these two were going to have me down right delusional.
“There’s a football game. I like to support the team.” I said. Skyler snickered and a smirk spread across Hayley’s face.
“You like to support the coach you mean?” Skyler asked.
“That’s not true! I’ve always been a football fan!” I defended myself. Hayley chuckled
“Sure but since when do you go to away games? Isn’t it like 2 hours away?” She raised an eyebrow. I sighed.
“Coach stopped by the office this morning, one of the other teachers that was supposed to chaperone the roadies tomorrow canceled and since he and I are friends he volunteered me to do it. He buttered me up with free coffee this morning and practically begged me to go tomorrow and… I just can’t say no to him. Plus he said he really wants me to be there.”  I swirled my wine glass and stared down at it. I knew the looks they were giving me.  I heard skyler squeal.
“Shut up! He asked you to come because he wants to spend time with you! Watch, I bet next week he’ll ask you out!”  She bounced in her seat.
“He does not! He’s going to be busy with the team! He’s not going to have time to talk to me or anything.” I said taking a big gulp of wine.
“Why else would he say he wants you there though. And clearly you want him to hang out with you. Or you want to hang out with him. Or you wouldn’t have given up your precious Friday night in!” Hayley smirked.
“Okay, so what if I do. He’s not into me like that. He’s just friendly. He’s southern, it's just how he is!” I said, trying to hold onto whatever sanity I had left.
“Really?” Skyler said. “Does he bring anyone else coffee? Ask if he can eat lunch in anyone else’s office?” Hayley but it
“Didn’t he get you a christmas gift last year?” she asked.
“He was my secret santa!” I stated. They both sighed.
“ I don’t know why you can’t see it but he likes you!” Skyler said. I started to  object but Hayley cut me off.
“You don’t have to believe us. Just pay attention to how he acts around you tomorrow and the next couple of days. He's trying to make a move. And I know you have your little no coworkers rule,”
“Because if…”
“Ah, I don’t wanna hear it! He’s clearly trying to get your attention. And you work in a public high school it's not like everyone else isn’t hooking up.” She stated.
“She’s got a point, remember all the teachers when we were in school? And he’s not just trying to hook up. He’s playing the long game,” Skyler said. “All we’re saying is IF we’re right,”
“And we are,” Hayley added. Skyler gave her side eye but laughed.
“If he asks you out you should give him a chance. We’ve never met him but it’s clear he’s so into you. And he seems like a great guy. Don’t push him away because something COULD go wrong.” she said. At that point the waiter came up and we placed our order. I also ordered another glass of wine. But a wine buzz wasn’t enough to convince me they were right. Sy couldn’t like me. I wasn’t his type. But it didn’t matter. I will go tomorrow and have a good time watching the game and cheering on the boys and watching Sy in his element. And when it’s all said and done I’ll ride home with the student section and maybe catch the chance to say goodbye to my friend before we leave. And on Monday everything will be as it always has been. Sy and I are friends.
I repeat that to myself as I walk the hall toward the gym after school on Friday. I turned down the hall toward the locker rooms and found his office door open. Sy was leaning back in his desk chair watching the tape from a few weeks ago. He noticed me before I spoke. He paused the video and smiled.
“Hey you! To what do I owe the honor? You never venture down this way?”
“Just coming to double check the plan for tonight! We’re meeting back here at 5:15 and the bus leaves at 5:45?” I asked him. He nodded, running a hand over his beard.
“Yeah, but I was thinking, you got plans for dinner?” He asked and raised an eyebrow.
“Uh I was just gonna run home for dinner, why do you ask?” I leaned against the doorway and crossed my arms over my chest. I watched curiously as he chewed at his bottom lip for a moment.
“I was gonna grab a bite to eat in town before the game. I won’t have time to go all the way home. Do you wanna come with me?” He finally made eye contact with me again and gave me a soft smile.
“Oh um,” I hesitated for a second.
“I’ll buy,” He smirked. I rolled my eyes.
“You don’t have to do that, Sy,” I said softly. He stood up grabbing his keys off the desk.
“I know, I want to.” He smiled and brushed his shoulder against mine as he walked out the door. “Come on, I’ll drive.” I raised an eyebrow
“Driving me to dinner and you’re paying? Sy if I didn’t know any better I’d say you were flirting with me.” the corner of his mouth turned up into a smirk and he stopped walking. He turned toward me and bit his lip trying to hold back a grin.
“Alayna,” He chuckled nervously, “I find it hard to believe after all this time…” He was cut off by a loud whistle down the hallway.
“Well ain’t that a cute couple!” a voice said in a horrible mock southern accent “Get it coach!” One of Sy’s boys called from just outside the weight room. Another one of the football players popped his head out the door to see what was going on and started making kissy sounds with his lips. Sy dropped his chin to his chest and shook his head but his shoulders shook when he chuckled, giving him away. He loved those boys he couldn’t be mad if he wanted to be.
“Tyler you’re already on thin ice don’t make me bench you tonight! You too Matt. Don’t think I forgot about the little stunt you pulled in the parking lot last week!” He gave them a stern look
“Sorry coach!” they said in unison
“It was funny though,” Matt mumbled. Sy shook his head
“Sure, You boys get out of here and get something to eat, I don’t need you passing out on me on the field tonight.” He held Matt’s gaze.
“It was one time!” He stressed.
“And it’s only gonna be one if I can help it. Go eat!” He barked. The boys immediately straightened up and nodded.
“Yes coach!” Logan just chuckled and we kept walking.
“They adore you,” I said. He smiled
“Nah, they just know I’m not kidding’” I laughed.
“Oh come on Sy, you aren’t that mean, or you wouldn’t care so much,” We walked out the back door to the teacher parking lot and headed to his truck. “Hey… what were you saying earlier,” He raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about sugar,” He smirked.
“Sure you don’t cowboy,” I rolled my eyes and hopped up into the truck after he unlocked it.  He slid in next to me and started the engine.
“Where do you wanna eat?” He looked over at me and raised an eyebrow. I shrugged.
“Doesn’t matter to me, you’re buying,” I said flatly.
“Sugar,” He threw his arm over the back of the seat, his fingertips brushing my shoulder, as he backed out of the parking spot. He left it there as he pulled out on the road. “Don’t be shy with me, I know you love food darlin.  I’ll drive all around town and we’ll starve until you tell me what you want.” I looked over at him just in time to make eye contact before his eyes shifted back toward the road. He shook his head and tried to hide his smirk.
“You are so dramatic,” I teased, trying to play it cool but I could feel a blush creeping up my cheeks.
“Oh, I’m dramatic? Weren’t you the one tearing up in her office because of a book you were readin?” He snickered. I reached over and playfully smacked him in the chest.
“Shut up!” I laughed. He held his hand to his chest feigning hurt.
“Ow!” He pouted.
“That did not hurt! I barely hit you!” he side eyed me still pouting but the corners of his mouth started to break into a smile
“Over here committing spousal abuse.” He shook his head. I laughed so hard I snorted.
“We’re not married Sy!”
“You’re my work wife, it's the same damn thing” He chuckled. “Seriously, where do you wanna eat, I’m starving.”
“My god Logan,” I laughed. “Um fine, I haven’t tried that new sushi and ramen place yet!” I said. He almost slammed on the break.
“You haven’t?! That place is right up your alley, all trendy and shit. It’s real good too!”
“You think I’m trendy?” I raised an eyebrow. He looked over for a moment and caught my eye giving me a gentle smile.
“I think you deserve to be taken out to nice places.” And here I was blushing again.
“Sy,” I started but my phone buzzed in my lap distracting me, I wasn’t really sure what to say anyway. It was a group chat with the girls asking me what time we leave tonight. They were going to have a field day with this. And instead of just replying I decided to start a fire. I tapped my screen to open my camera and held it up to take a selfie “Smile, cowboy.” He chuckled.
“What are you doin over there, sugar?” He smirked but glanced over at the camera quickly so I could snap a quick photo.
“Lighting a match.” I smirked. He bit his lip and chuckled softly.
“You’re something else,” He spoke as we pulled into the restaurant. I quickly sent the picture to the group chat and slid my phone into my purse.
Sy was right. This place was incredible. And very trendy.
“God I can’t get over how good this place is!” I said for like the 4th time. Logan smiled.
“I told ya, Darlin,” The waitress came and brought out our bill and I reached for my purse. “Hey, No, I told you, I’m paying.” He said pulling out his wallet and handing his card to the waitress.
“Thank you Sy, I appreciate it,” He grinned.
“Anytime, you deserve it,” I blushed, “ you’re really saving my ass tonight.” I forced a smile, so that’s what this is about. I told the girls this was all just because he needed something.
“It’s no big deal Logan.” I said. I pulled my phone out and checked my messages. There were like 10 from the group chat now.
“OMG YOU'RE WITH HIM?!”
“You didn’t tell us you were getting dinner with him.”
“UNLESS THEIR NOT GETTING DINNER ;)”
“What else would they be….oh”
“Alayna you better not be fucking the football coach right now.”
“Leave her alone Hayley she can fuck him if she wants to BUT IF YOU DO I WANT DETAILS”
“ALAYNAAAAA”
“GIRLLLL ANSWER USSSSS”
“Seriously dude you can’t just send us a picture of you with your hunky football coach man crush and just disappear.”
“OMG THEY’RE TOTALLY FUCKING”
I held back a smile and shook my head.
“It is a big deal,” He said and grabbed my hand across the table. “I’m glad you’re gonna be there tonight.” I smiled but pulled my hand back.
“Sure, because you needed another chaperone.” I joked. His eyebrows furrowed and he tilted his head catching my eye.
“Yeah, but I wanted it to be you, I like hangin out with you. And you’re really fun to watch in the stands. I didn’t know you could be so…aggressive.” He smirked.
“I’m just really passionate about football!” I argued. “And how do you know you like hanging out with me? We've barely seen each other outside of work.” I questioned.
“Well we should change that,” he said.
“Won’t your girlfriend get jealous?” I asked. I knew a lot about him but he never mentioned any relationship. I’d be stupid to think he wasn’t seeing someone. He laughed. God I loved that sound.
“Don’t have one sugar,” He said with a mischievous grin on his face.
“How?” It was my turn to be confused.
“Why don’t you have a boyfriend?” He retorted quickly.
“I … because…” I stuttered, unable to come up with an answer.
“Haven’t found the right guy yet huh?” He pauses, “guess that’s where I’m at, she just ain’t found me yet.” He smiled. Right then the waitress came back with his card. “Thanks honey,” He said, giving her his signature smile. He signed the receipt and stood from the table. “We oughta get going. Don’t wanna be late for the game!”
Sy drove us back to the school and parked his truck next to my car. “Oh no!” I sighed.
“What's wrong?” He asked.
“I was going to grab a sweatshirt when I went home and,” I opened my car, turning on the light to look in  the back seat. “I don’t have an extra in my car.” I pouted.
“Is that all?” He chuckled. He reached into the back seat of his truck and pulled out a black hoodie. “Here. I always have an extra in the truck you can wear mine. Don’t want you to catch a cold.” I took it from him tentatively.
“Sy, this is your coach sweatshirt.” I said.
“One of ‘em yeah.” He smiled.
“I…okay,” I just shook my head and pulled the hoodie on. He bit his lip.
“Looks good on ya,” He smirked.
“Shut up,” I rolled my eyes. Before we could continue to tease each other the buses pulled up. And I could see some of the students' cars pulling into the student lot “We’d better head over there!” I said quickly. Logan nodded.
“Yeah, we better get going.”
Driving me crazy part 10 - the epilogue
Tumblr media
Captain Nathan Syverson x Hazel Murphy (tall!plus size ofc)
Summary: a year in the life of Nathan and Hazel
Wordcount: <0.8k
Warnings: noneeeee
A/N: this series have some to an end! I want to thank everyone who read it, enjoyed it, loved it, and went along this ride with me. This chapter is a little different than the others, so i really hope you like it!
Tumblr media
A lot has changed ever since Nathan and Hazel spend their first night together. Many dates had followed, but every single one as special as the other. They had dinner uncountable times, went bowling (which Nathan loved, and Hazel hated), ice skating (Hazel loved this one because she could cling to Nathan even though she could ice skate perfectly fine), museum hopping, shopping (Nathan thoroughly hated it, but seeing his girl happy with her new purchases made up for it) and so much more.
Tumblr media
The year had gone by so fast. After two months, they were inseparable, and Nathan spend his time mostly at her place. Hers was cosy, warm, soft; she made the place feel like home. On one night, while watching a movie, Nathan had straight up asked her: “Can I start telling people you’re my girlfriend or do you need some more time?” He had finished it off with a kiss on her forehead. Hazel’s heart filled with love and happiness. She had grabbed his face and admitted: “I’d love that.”
You’d think they would get sick of each other, spending so much time at work and home together, but nothing less was true. They loved it. Plus, the inn had become her second home. Nathan’s parents were the kindest and Harper, his sister, was one of her best friends. Their bond had only grown stronger in the past year.
Just over six months, after their first night, it had become inevitable. Nathan was never at his apartment anymore. So, one day Hazel decided it was enough. “Babe?” she asked after dinner. “Do you want to waste any more money on that apartment of yours or are you just gonna move in with my officially?” Nathan had laughed and took her in his arms. “I thought you’d never ask.” Hazel smiled, “good, because I already rented a truck for this weekend.”
Holidays were something Nathan didn’t care about, well, he used to never care about. Their first little holiday was a weekend away together. That one made Nathan realized it wasn’t so bad, he got to spend every second with his girl without his family interrupting. But after going on an actual vacation, for two weeks, to the beach; he realized it was all he ever wanted. Seeing Hazel with as little clothes on as possible was something he could never get tired off. Strolling on the beach, holding hands, eating ice cream, laughing, and having fun: he swore to himself to take her on a vacation to the beach at least once a year.
Tumblr media
After ten months, Nathan hadn’t been more sure than anything else. Hazel was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his lives with. To create a family with. To grow old with. The moment he knew? He couldn’t pinpoint it to one moment, he realized it every morning he woke up next to her. Being fairly certain she felt the same, he decided not to wait, but to get a ring and go for it. He knew she wouldn’t want a grant proposal, in public. She would hate that, so one day, he took a day off. He told her he had to go to the next town to buy supplies for the hotel rooms there were renovating, which was the one and only time he had lied to her.
Nathan did go to the store, but to buy an enormous amount of fairy lights and he quite literally bought the whole flower shop. The rest of the day was spend decorating the house. Every single room to be exact. Hazel had come home just as he had finished changing his outfit. Black trousers, and his black turtleneck because it was her favourite. Once her eyes laid on the room and him, everything clicked together and there was one last thing to say: “Yes!”
They couldn’t wait to get married, so they didn’t. The wedding practically planned itself. Within two months they said the famous words to each other. The large garden of the inn was the perfect venue. Nathan’s parents, Harper, and Hazel’s family and friends helped plan and organize the entire event. Everything was taken care for, and above all, it was everything Hazel and Nathan ever wanted. Flowers, lights, and pictures everywhere, the people they loved where there, great music, funny speeches; it was almost like a fairy tale. Nathan would never forget the moment Hazel walked down the aisle. He didn’t think she could be any prettier, but in that moment, she was ethereal.
Tumblr media
And right now? They stood at the beginning of the rest of their lives, together.
If you’ve found yourself here, there used to be a story here. It’s no longer available unfortunately. I’ve deleted all my writing because people don’t know how to play nice with other’s toys. Yes, I’m pissed about it. This remains so I can see the notes people have left me on this story. Sorry there isn’t anything to read here other than me bitching. Take care 🖤
The moodboard by @luna-aestas remains because you can’t delete art.
Chapter 4: Rendezvous
It had been a few days since their last encounter and their communication was a little less than satisfying. He was always working and even if they weren’t in a relationship, poor Netty couldn’t help but think that maybe he didn’t even have time for their friendship. But she was left wondering because she simply had too much time on her hands. Amunet wasn’t working at the moment and decided that she would take the state requirement test to be a licensed teacher in the state of Florida. But also decided that she could wait for the next school year to start her on her new career path of teaching.
Since she was at home (still unpacking), it left her with just too much time to think. Amunet had moved away sure but her “problems” never escaped her. She was going through a box one evening while looking for her crystals she had brought with her, when she saw her family photo album. Her thumb gently traced over the engraved “H” on the navy blue hard cover. With a slight bit of hesitation, she opened the book which revealed several pictures of her and her lost husband, Gideon, in high school. A whimper slipped from her lips as she did her best to keep her heart from breaking once more. They looked so happy, so young, wild and free. Amunet knew this would be a trap for her feelings, knew that she would be a sad and skulking mess for the next few days but, she couldn’t help it. It was like she wanted the pain, knowing they were not here… it was the closest thing she had left of them. So, she kept flipping the thick pages. Looking at the photos of the day when they got married back in ‘08. She was now a crying mess. She flipped the pages once more, and then she saw her greatest pain.
Pictures of her ultrasound when she was pregnant with their son. It caused her to break out in a harder sob as she would remember those beautiful moments with their boy. Running her finger tips over his cute little face when he was just a toddler, a tear just fell over the plastic. ‘Mommy misses you so much my love…’ she was barely inaudible. It just didn’t feel real, and she would often wake up at night thinking that they would just walk through that front door. And that feeling brought her so much dread.
Her vulnerable moment was interrupted by a muffled buzzing. She ignored it until it stopped, but then— it had returned. Amunet quickly scrambled to her feet and walked over to her sofa to find her phone sitting between the cushions. Ronan. She waited a moment before she slid that green button to the right. Sniffing, mouth coated with the stickiness of tears. ‘Hello?’
‘Hey you— hey ar—are you crying?’
‘No,… no. It’s nothing.’ She lied.
Ronan didn’t want to press her, but he was concerned for her. ‘You know you can talk to me if you want to Netty. Here— I know I’ve been pretty distant over the past few days and I want to make it up to you. And— I want to make you feel better. How about I come over tonight, we order some take out and we just talk? How’s that sound?’ He was so thoughtful, and that alone made her feel a little bit better, knowing she could have him as a shoulder to cry on. ‘That sounds great Ron. I would love that.’
The two conversed a little more, and Ronan managed to get a few laughs out of her before he had to hang up and head back to work.
7:03PM had finally came around and Amunet was on her second glass of wine. She kept glancing at her watch and she was starting to come to terms that he wasn't coming. She would understand, it was Tuesday and she was pretty confident that he had to work the next day. But all of the doubts were shoved to the side when she heard the door bell. 'Finally... you show up.' she stood up, rushing to the half bathroom to fix her hair. Then there was a knock at the door. 'Just a second!' She called out as she pulled out her lipgloss and ran the thick liquid over her full lips. Massaging her lips together, she popped her lips and fixed her cardigan. She switched off the bathroom light and rushed to open the front door.
A huge grin was pulled on her lips, but quickly faltered when it was just the delivery driver for their food. 'Hi! Order for Amu-' 'Amunet, yes. That's me.' The driver handed her over the receipt for her to sign and she tipped him before carefully grabbing the heavy brown paper bag. 'Oh! Miss, the guy that ordered had us write something for you in the bag.' She stood there baffled for a second but she couldn't help but smirk as her cheeks begun to heat up like a tea kettle. 'Thank you.' And with that she shut the front door.
Quickly placing the brown paper bag on the counter, she took a breath before she pulled the staples apart and opened up the bag. A folded piece of paper rested on top of the containers and she quickly picked it up. Damn near tearing the paper part, it read: I will be there soon. You don't have to wait up for me. -Ronan
Oh he just made her heart ache. But not in the bad way, the kind that made it skip a beat or flutter. Amunet folded the paper back together neatly and walked into the living room, turned on the television and switched it to a 90s-00s RnB music channel. She walked over to the dining room table and refilled her wine glass. She took a long sip to ease the nervousness that coursed through her body.
She had drank her wine halfway when she heard a knock at the door. The sudden noise caused her to flinch, spilling the red wine over her khaki cardigan. Letting out a heavy sigh that was followed by a string of cursing, 'Goddammit! Fuck, fuck. C-I'M COMING!' She quickly snatched off her cardigan but the wine had soaked right through, staining her white long sleeved shirt. Annoyed, she quickly walked into the laundry room and threw her cardigan in the washer. The door bell rang this time, 'I'm coming! Just a moment!' She was such a mess right now. She had figured that it was Ronan, and she was afraid that he'd just bail. So Amunet just sucked it up, walked to the door and pulled it open.
The light from inside of her home lit up his face and in an instant, a grin curled on his face. His eyes drank her in, as if he was trying to study the pores in her face. Like he was trying to find an imperfection. But the bright stain of red wine on her chest quickly captured his attention. It had resembled blood, it had him taken back for a moment. 'Oh- You've... you've made a mess!' He pointed gently before a chuckle left his lips. 'Oh - yeah. May have had a little bit too much tonight.' Netty giggled before stepping to the side and jerking her head for him to come inside.
Netty watched him walk into her home, she shut the door behind them and locked it. She watched him take in his new environment. 'You've gotten a lot done since breakfast.' She smiled proudly and placed her hands on her hips, holding her chin high. 'Well, thank you! I have a lot of time on my hands, i figured why not put my living room, dining room and kitchen together.' Truth be told, most nights couldn't sleep. 'Hmm. Well it look's nice Netty. Nice work.' Ronan had turned to face her and deadly blue eyes roamed her body.
'You should probably go change, that red against your skin is quite distracting.'
'Well what if i don't want to change my shirt?' Netty argued back as she folded her arms over her busty chest. 'Alright- then i'd just have to rip it off of you.' Amunet's mouth went dry and her eyes slightly grew. But before she could stop herself, 'I'd like to see you try.' She knew she fucked up. A gasped slipped from her lips and she found herself covering her mouth with both of her hands. 'OH! No- no I didn't..' Ronan smirked deviously as he begun to approach her. She backed up until she felt the cool wall against her back. Towering over her like some kind of beastly creature, he tilted his head down, inhaling her soft floral scent before raising his hand, and slipping it beneath her shirt. Looking down at her cleavage.
'Ronan- this is bad...'
'I know. But what fun is it being good?'
And with little to no effort at all, he tore her shirt straight down the middle.
The red wine was still stained against her brown flesh and now seem as if it was becoming sticky. Ronan’s mouth salivated at the sight. Netty stared up at him as he took her in once more before he quickly captured her lips in a kiss. It was slow, teasing as if he was trying to test the waters. But when she returned the kiss, it grew aggressive. From her lips, he used his thick tongue to lick from her mouth to her neck, collarbone and finally — the wine that was starting to dry up on her breast.
‘Ronan? … Ronan are you alright?’ She asked, waving her hand in his face. Amunet watched as he blinked himself out of what had seem to be a trance. ‘Oh— yeah,’ he chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head. ‘Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind.’ And boy did he. ‘Mmmmhmm. OK, well. Make yourself at home while I go change my shirt.’ She walked past him and climbed her stairs, and walked down the long hallway towards her bedroom.
Shutting the door behind her gently, she took a deep breath, holding her hands up halfway as her eyes were closed. ‘Al—alright. It’s just dinner. You haven’t been alone with a guy in about a year and a half. But this is strictly platonic! He’s your friend, you’re his friend! No big deal!’ She cackled nervously and walked towards her closet and snatched a soft pink knitted sweater (she has a thing for sweaters and long sleeves) off of the plastic hanger and went to clean up her mess in the bathroom.
Walking back downstairs to meet her guest, he was sitting on the sofa with his leg crossed over the other while holding a glass of wine. ‘Well, looks like you’re pretty comfortable.’ She giggled and rested her elbows on the top of her cushions. ‘Let’s go eat. I know you told me not to wait but— I thought it would’ve been rude.’ Ronan tsked his tongue at her 3 times before speaking, ‘I see the problem we’re going to have in our friendship— you don’t like to listen now do you?’ He pushed himself up from the gray sofa, careful not to make the mess she had made but in “2.0”. Amunet stood up straight and laughed, ‘You know you’re sounding a lot like my father!’ She spun on her heels and started for the kitchen, ‘Hm. What’s his name? I may have met him.’ He chuckled before finishing off the final swallow of his glass.
The two sat down at the dining room table with their wine glasses basically filled to the brim. It had seem to be a stressful week for the both of them and it was only TUESDAY! ‘So, what made you choose your line of work? I wouldn’t have taken you as the “play with the dead” type of guy.’ Amunet sparked conversation as she dipped her sweet and sour chicken in the bright red sauce. ‘Well, looks could be deceiving yes?’ He answered and she rolled her eyes, ‘why do you have to be soooo mysterious!?’ She asked with a bit of humor in her voice.
‘Because it’s the only way to keep you interested.’
Damn. It left her with nothing to say really. She just tapped her fork against the glass plate before she decided to play dumb, ‘Who says I’m interested?’
‘Well Amunet you wouldn’t ask if you weren’t.’
He was so right.
Amunet sighed and let out a small chuckle, ‘OK! Fine. I’m interested— now, will you tell me?’ Ronan gave her a smile as he pat his lips clean. ‘My father ran the funeral home that I work at. It was pretty much a family thing— a business, if you will, to deal with the dead. Literally my grandfather owned it and his father before. Back in the day before the Mob was disbanded, my grandfather use to help them deal with dead bodies— you know, tweak somethings, lie in autopsies records… very bad shit. So, that made him very good money, and in turn— my father grew up wealthy and smart.’ Ronan had taken a sip of his wine, now feeling a little more buzzed. Amunet was already drawn in by his family’s history already!
Resting her chin on her fist as her elbow rested on the table, she continued to listen. ‘My parents raised me up in the morgue. I was always there — I’ve witnessed the scariest of things and the serenity too. But then… my father fell ill. My parents had me late in life. My dad is 87, my mother is 80. I’m 38.’ Amunet’s eyes raised, ‘No way! You look great for almost 40.’ She teased. She was caught up with him, 37. But it wasn’t lady like for a woman to blurt out her age. She was sure it’ll come up in conversation. Ronan’s cheeks flushed pink as he smiled, ‘Well thank you. The stress from work is turning me slightly gray but — I’d rather have that than shrivel you like a raisin.’ The pair cackled together before he continued.
‘So when my father fell ill— he couldn’t work. He had Stage 3 Colon cancer and him going through chemotherapy, being sick and stuff was hard on him. So they turned to me to run the business. Mm, could you imagine? A 16 year old kid, running such a business?! I was only a Sophomore in high school!— so I grew up a little quicker. I had to quit football, track— anything I enjoyed… had to be placed on the back burner. And it got old, really fucking quick!’
Amunet sympathized for him; after all it wasn’t fair. The time in his life when he was suppose to be having a blast and being a kid was stripped away from him because his parents thought it was imperative to keep their business alive. She could tell that he resented them for that. And she understood. ‘Wow, so you were owning a business at 16 years old? How did that collide with high school? I know you had to be exhausted.’ She was worrisome, poor little Ronnie.
‘Very. I went to school every day, had to miss my last 2 class periods, and I ended up having to take summer school to make up those classes. And even get a tutor. Literally, if I wasn’t at school— I was there or I was at home sleeping. I just had no time in between to have fun.’ He sighed, ‘So I did that for 2 years and my senior year… I decided to plot and plan. My father was doing much better and I knew I had to leave before I was stuck again. So I got in contact with an Army Recruiter, did everything I needed to do so I could leave.’
Amunet's eyes grew at the new found news. 'You were in the service? My husband was in the Army for sometime.' She looked to the side, before her head fell forward. 'Oh? You're married?' he asked pretty startled by the news. 'Was-' she corrected him, her head rising to look at him. 'My husband and son died about a year and a half ago. He'd just gotten out of the military a month prior to that.' She sniffed, trying to squeeze back those tears but no matter how hard she tried, the harder it became. 'Oh, Netty- God I'm so sorry!' He didn't know what to say or do. He never wanted to experience a loss like that. She'd lost two of the only beings that she would die for. Ronan's head fell in shame, as he was about to get mad because he thought he was being toyed with.
She wiped her cheeks and took a heavy aspirated breath, trying to catch the sob as she felt the tightening in her chest. 'You know- it just doesn't feel real sometimes. I never imagined-... it would be me. Lonely like this in a completely different state.' She rolled her eyes as she picked up a napkin and wiped her slightly smeared mascara. Ronan swallowed his spit before, 'You're not lonely Netty.' Then he'd given her a reassuring smile and nodded, 'I can't imagine losing someone... that close to me. I'm sure they were so lucky to call you mommy and wife.' He'd then reached over and grabbed her hand, running his thumb over the back of her smooth brown skin. Amunet looked up from their hands to his face, glaring at him with eyes filled with thick tears. 'Thank you Ronnie.'
'Of course... if it's still too raw we can change the subject. I don't like to see you crying.' He gave her a chuckle and then she joined in before shaking her head. 'No, no. It's OK. I want to know everything there is to possibly know.'
Girl, only if you knew.
Ronan smiled and let go of her hand before reaching over to grab his glass of wine. 'What MOS was he in?' She let out a shaky breath as she looked up in thought, '31B, E-6. He was in for about 12 years.’
‘Awwww he was an MP?! Jeez, I remember they gave us so much hell when it was time to go through the gate, haha!’ The both of them laughed, ‘Well, he enjoyed it! He always enjoyed putting those Captain’s in check.’ Ronan stared at her with a blank face, ‘Oh- Oh no. You’re one of those—‘ She laughed as she clasped her hands together, ‘Yup! 18A—‘ ‘Special Forces.’ Ronan smiled in surprise, ‘You know your MOS codes. 'Well,' she smiled softly before taking a sip of her wine, 'When you've been around the military long enough, you pretty much get the lingo down.' She placed her glass on the table, 'So, what did you do? Where did you go? Do you have any pictures?' Ronan sighed with a deep breath, thinking of where to begin. " So i was actually enlisted at first and while i was in basic training I was given the opportunity to go to selection. I ended up making it through and went to school, which then allowed me to be able to commission as an Officer.' He said before taking a bite of his Lo Mein, 'I've did two rotations to Afghanistan, and Iraq. I've been to Germany, Japan, South America, Korea, Egypt and United Kingdom- Let me see if i have any pictures.' Ronan then reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone.
Tumblr media
Ronan found a picture and turned his phone around for her to see. She leaned in, her eyes narrowed as she studied the photo. ‘Oh?’ She said in surprise as she took his phone in her hands. He smirked and bit his lip, ‘You’re a lot bigger here!’ She joked and handed him over his phone. ‘Oh— ha haaa, very funny.’ He laughed as he put his phone in his pocket. ‘You wanted to know what I did with these muscles? That picture was your answer.’ And then he shot her a wink.
‘Oh pleeeease!’ She laughed out loud, her head falling back. ‘So why did you get rid of the beard?' Her eyes lifted from her food to the hunk that sat across from her, 'I gotta say It does look good on you.' Her eyes fell back to her food as her smirk never faltered. 'Well, working with the dead requires a lot of tender care. So my hair, hands have to be covered up. I don't think I would've been too keen with walking around with a beard cover all day long.' Ronan shrugged and sat back in his seat, 'But if you want me to grow it back I will.' He grinned, his tongue slipping out to lick at his bottom lip to lubricate them. Amunet sucked at her teeth as her face heated up with a vengeance; looking away to think of something else to talk about. But nothing came up!
The pair sat surprisingly, in comfortable silence before he looked over at the 50" that was mounted on the wall. The song had caught his attention, Alicia Keys- "You don't know my name." 'Who is that? Her voice is phenomenal!' His eyes seem to have twinkled at this newfound news. 'That's Alicia Keys. This is the music my mother use to play this music for me when I was younger.' She smiled at the distant memory of her and her mother in the kitchen, bumping hips and mixing food together. 'Can you dance?' He asked, interrupting her thoughts. 'Kind of?' And with that he stood up, holding his hand out for her to grab. She laughed, her leg crossed over the other as her eyes followed him, 'Ronan, what are you doing?'
'Here, come dance with me.'
He had this small smile on his face, 'Come on. Would it be a real dinner date if we didn't dance?'
'It would still be a real dinner date.' She laughed as she finished the rest of her wine. 'But fine. I'll dance with you.' Amunet reached up, placing her smaller hand in his much larger one and he effortlessly pulled her up to her feet.
She placed her hand on his shoulder, and gave it a gentle squeeze. She couldn't help it, it would probably be the only chance she got to touch him so she took advantage of the situation. Her other hand rest in his palm, their hands squeezing one another gently as his other hand rest at the small of her back. Her breasts were pressed against his firm chest, pelvis to pelvis as they swayed slowly to the RnB music. Amunet looked everywhere but him. But him on the other hand, tried to gauge her attention. 'You know it is kind of awkward that you're looking every where else but up here.' Amunet scoffed and finally worked up the courage to look at him, 'I'm sorry. It's been a while since I've been this close with anyone.' Ronan gave her a concerned look, 'We can stop if you feel uncomfortable Netty.' His voice as smooth as melted chocolate. 'No,' She objected, 'This is nice.' she said softly as she finally allowed her chocolate brown hues to stare into his icy ones.
Maybe Amunet was fond of Ronan after all.
The helping hand
Chapter 2
Captain Syverson x Reader
I sat down in the chair in the therapist's office. I really like the decor of it. It was similar to the modern farmhouse style. My leg was shaking, I have tried to control my breathing. The lady, called Lucy, introduce herself and asked me what am I expecting from the sessions.
“I want you to fix me.” I told her honestly.
“I can’t fix you, you were never broken”
“So …. What can you do?”
“I can help you find yourself.’’
Interesting, I really like her approach. For the rest of the sessions, we had a nice chat about what is going to happen. Six sessions plus homework. Lucy invited me over for the next meeting, next week. I have left the building feeling better, knowing that was the right step. I am making a big step forward. Part of me was hoping to see the bearded soldier again.
Sy’s POV, one week later
Today was my second session with a therapist called Lucy. Last week I was ready to resign from them, but I really need a stable job in the States. I can’t go back to missions. Call me the old man, but I really need to have a place I can call "home". I sat in the waiting room and I saw my angel again. She was so shy, looked afraid of me. Suddenly, a miracle has happened. The therapist invited both of us to the office.  Lucy introduced us, and I kissed Y/N’s hand. Poor thing, she got so scared. Y/N - what a wonderful name. I will lose my head for this girl.
“Thank you both for coming here, I know it cost you a lot. I have changed the original plan of your therapy sessions. I have a solution... it’s more like an experiment on how to help you out to heal. I will explain everything in the details, please hear me out....”
Lucy had explained to us a plan that will change our lives forever.
@angryschnauzer - I don’t think Schnauz wrote specifically plus-sized reader, she writes inclusively like myself, but I noticed that her latest story Distraction had a curvy woman in the cover image so I’d like to add this to the list (I mean it’s also one of the hottest things I read)
Schnauz, if I am mistaken please let me know.
I’d like to emphasise again that I write inclusively, my reader inserted and almost all of my OFCs stories don’t include a description of body, hair, skin or eye colour, etc. 🖤
Thank you and enjoy.
Homecoming - Chapter Three
Tumblr media
(Gif's not my own.)
Summary: The day has arrived, Captain Syverson is going home. For good, this time. He is going home to a civilian life he can hardly remember and a wife he barely knows, with memories of the war still fresh on his mind. Love might not be able to heal everything on its own, but it’s a good start.
Genres: Romance, drama.
Story warnings: Smut (always fully consensual), mentions of PTSD and nightmares and mental health, angst, hurt and comfort, fluff, mentions of war (minor), mentions of cheating (minor), mentions of pregnancy (very minor), police appearance (very minor), violence (very minor).
Notes:
It’s my first time writing for one of Henry’s characters and I’m unsure I did Sy’s character any justice.
This is a Capt. Syverson x OFC (Ada) story, written in 3rd person POV but OFC’s physical description is very limited so it could also be read as Capt. Syverson x Reader, I think.
English is not my first language, so there might be some mistakes. Proofread, but not beta’ed. We die like men and all that.
Timeline is a little wacky: The movie takes place in 2003 and the U.S. forces were withdrawn from Iraq in 2011, but I never set a precise date because I don’t think it’s essential for this story. However, some elements might not be realistic because if we set this story in 2003: Phone cameras quality was not as good as it’s now, but for the purpose of the chapters, I will need you to imagine you could film great videos with your flip phone haha. Plus, it says Sy is coming back after being deployed for more than three years which makes no sense unless we set this in 2006 or later. I am asking you disregard any time inconsistencies.
Also: I am not American. I only lived in the US for six months and it was in the Midwest, not Texas so please bear with me if I write something stupid.
Finally: This will be a Christmas fic and I intend to post the last chapter (there will be seven in total) on or before Christmas. However, religion is never mentioned in this story and the Christmas-sy elements of this story are limited to family gathering, gift giving and tree decorating.
Chapter Three starts after the cut. (Chapter Two can be found here.) Let me know if you wish to be tagged in future chapters or if you wish to be removed from the tag list.
Chapter Three
Chapter warnings: Smut, alcohol consumption (moderate), mentions of contraception and of pregnancy.
I think that’s it, but this chapter killed my brain – it was very difficult to write and I feel like I botched it. There are various important moments in this chapter that I found very hard to translate from my brain into words. And the smut, oh my God, it’s so bad!
"You know, when you came to me all bossy and told me to lose my clothes, I had something a lot different in mind." Sy grumbled from the bed, where he was sat wearing nothing but boxer briefs.
Ada laughed and turned around, sticking out her tongue at him before going back to what she was doing, namely sorting through Sy's clothes in the walk-in closet. She slid a pair of jeans off its hangers and threw it at him without looking back. "I admit that I probably don't need as many clothes as I own, but you're definitely a minimalist."
Sy grunted noncommittally, he was not amused, but tried on the jeans all the same. They didn't fit, he couldn't pull them up past the thighs. "Hey darlin'," he called her, a hint of amusement audible in his voice.
She turned around at the pet name and then forced herself not to laugh at the sight in front of her. Sy had already been a burly man when they had met, but it seemed he had managed to gain even more muscle mass in the past few months, now looking like an absolute bear of a man. Ada grinned and tilted her head at the cardboard box at the end of the bed. "Put those in the donation pile."
"Yes, ma'am," Sy said, getting up and doing as asked.
Ada grabbed her small pencil and added another item to the list. "So, you need jeans, new boots, sweatshirts, t-shirts..." She went on, listing the items. What he needed was a whole new wardrobe and she was the woman for the mission.
Turning around, she found Sy rolling his eyes at her. "I ain't need no new t-shirts, woman. I got the black one, the red one and the khaki one."
Ada chuckled and approached him on the bed, coming to stand between his legs. It was unusual for her to be taller than him, and with him sitting on the bed and her standing up, she still didn't have that much of an advantage. With a grin, she leaned forward and kissed his forehead before pulling back to look into his eyes. Instinctively, almost an automatism, his hands found purchase on her hips.
"Last time you wore your red 'DILLIGAF' t-shirt, three separate kids stopped and asked you what the acronym stood for and you looked at me for help."
Sy held her gaze, not keen on losing the staring contest. Ada didn't want to relent but she didn't want to force him either, not after what had happened while grocery shopping. "It's okay if you really don't want to go, I won't for-"
Sy shook his head, silencing her before she could even finish. "Let's get this shopping over with. But I'm warning you: I'll be complaining the whole time."
For a moment, Ada pursed her lips, seemingly unconvinced but eventually her frown was replaced with a grin. "I would expect nothing else from you, grumpy bear," she teased before turning around, excited about the task at hand.
Sy left to get dressed but not before landing a playful smack on her ass.
°°°
It went just as Ada had imagined. Sy sat down on the sofa at the far end of the store, keeping everything in sight, and she would occasionally come up to him with suggestions. To an onlooker, they resembled a devout worshipper trying to make offerings to a very picky and very handsome god.
His replies to the items she presented to him went anywhere from 'no' to 'not a chance in hell', without forgetting the classic 'you lost your mind, darlin’'.
After visiting three stores and Ada trying to visually guess his size because Sy absolutely refused to try out any of the clothes, they had managed to get most of what he needed. It just turned out to be near recreations of the clothes he already owned, just bigger and newer. And with more child friendly texts.
They stopped for coffee by the center of the open-air mall. True to himself, Sy ordered just that - a coffee with 'none of the fancy shit'.
"You're sure you don't want to go to any of your stores?" Sy asked, watching her sip on her colorful drink.
Well, the idea was tempting but she already had more candles and blankets than necessary. And she knew he was uneasy even if he was hiding it well. "No, it's okay. I know you don't like shopping and I can just ask some friends if I really want to go." Sy hummed.
By the time Ada finished her season exclusive drink, she noticed Sy was staring at a shop window. She was almost excited that he was finally interested in buying clothes before noticing that it was some video game advertisement.
"You can buy the game, if you want. No need to stare," she teased.
He reverted his attention back to her. "It's only compatible with the new console that came out last month and that one's sold out." Ada started beaming as he spoke. "What?"
"Well... a few months ago, I came across the launch announcement on the Internet. And I had seen the old model in the study, so I knew you liked it and since you were coming home soon..."
Sy's eyes became even bluer for a moment, a huge grin threatening to illuminate his face. "Are you saying that...?"
Ada laughed, shaking her head. He looked like a kid on Christmas Day. "Yes. It's wrapped in gift paper in the basement under the utility sink."
"I love you, wife."
Again, she scoffed. "Yeah, yeah... Now let's go get you that damn game."
°°°
Later that day, or rather night, Sy wasn't even paying attention to the movie they, or rather, she was watching. He had gotten the gist of it - superheroes teaming up together to save the world - that sufficed him. His focus was entirely on his wife nested between his legs, her back resting against his chest.
When they got home from the mall and went to sort through his clothes and belongings, finally unpacking the rest of his duffel bag, Ada came across his dog tags. She asked if she could keep them. Sy frowned at the odd request but agreed nonetheless, shrugging dismissively.
Ada then proceeded to put the chain around her neck and slide the tags under her blouse. He had stared at her a little confused; she was smiling, looking all smug as if she had managed to trick him out of something valuable and not just two cheap metal tags hanging off an equally cheap chain.
"The fact that I get to have both your tags means I am very lucky to have gotten you back alive and in one piece. I don't want to ever forget that."
With his height advantage, even sitting behind her, Sy could see the chain disappearing under her pajamas and the tags resting in the valley of her breasts. Somehow, the sight made him feel even more possessive than the wedding band on her ring finger.
Things always had felt slightly uncertain with Ada, there had always been the shadow of a doubt in his mind when it came to her. They had gotten married on a whim and she knew he was a green beret, deployed most of the time. It's an entirely different thing to marry someone you get to see for a couple of weeks every once in a blue moon and to actually live, share a home with someone. When Sy had told her, he was coming home for good over the phone, he had half expected her to ask him for a divorce or to find himself alone at the airport. His face hadn't shown it, but when Ada put on the damn chain he had hated wearing in the goddamn desert where it would chafe his nape or get tangled in his chest hairs, Sy felt as happy as a sand boy.
She seemed honest when she said there was nothing going on with that Tom guy. Not that he could truly blame her if there was, even if it would have broken him. His parents had been married for over thirty-five years and his mom found a new boyfriend not even two years after his father's passing.
And yet, Ada was there, cuddling with him on the couch. She hadn't served him with divorce papers upon his arrival. Instead, they had spent the past few days pretty much glued together as they usually did when he was on leave.
Maybe it was time he started to believe that he had come home to his wife and she really wasn't going anywhere. Especially since she hadn't asked him to wear a condom ever since he got home and he hadn't seen her contraceptive pills on her nightstand either. Sy even checked the bathroom cabinet where he knew she kept some medication, but he didn't find anything there either. This morning, he had even considered asking her about it, but he figured that if she hadn't mentioned anything so far, it was because she wanted it to be a surprise and he didn't want to ruin it. Though he'd be lying if he said he wasn't going to be checking the same cabinet for pregnancy tests in the future.
"You good?" Ada asked as the film came to an end, tilting her head back but only getting a view of his beard. It made her smile, though. Sy really was her bear: big, strong and hairy.
"Yeah, I just," he stammered slightly as if waking up from his thoughts. "I was thinking we should probably change the stairs' railing into something safer before we have kids running up and down."
"Yep, that's not gonna happen," Ada chipped in, jumping off the couch before starting to fold the blanket.
"What?" Sy blurted out, turning all his attention to her. "The railing or the kids?"
"The kids," she replied nonchalantly, now laying the blanket in the basket by the sofa. "If you want to redo the stairs, that's fine. I think we could even paint them white."
In a second, Sy was up on his feet, his imposing stature crowding her. "What do you mean, that ain't happening? You don't want kids?"
Ada frowned, suddenly uncomfortable at his intense stare. "No.”
"Why did you never tell me?"
"Why did you assume kids were a given?" Ada retorted, taking a few steps back to put some distance between them. "I figured that if it was important to you, you'd have mentioned it sooner, at some point at least."
Sy had to fight the urge to yell at her, the feeling of betrayal and even anger overwhelming him. If he never spoke of it before, it was because he didn't want to have kids while he was deployed and miss their first years. Instead, he forced himself to calm down, taking a deep breath. "Is that a not now or a not ever?"
Ada looked away for a second, gathering her thoughts before moving her eyes back to him. "I got a new Mirena coil a couple of months ago, so I'm set for the next three years at least."
He had no idea what the fuck a 'Mirena coil' was supposed to be but it wasn't hard to figure out. Instinctively, his hand went to the back of head, raking through his short hair. "Just to be clear, Ada," Sy paused, his nostrils flaring, "you don't want children?"
It didn't even take her a second to start regretting her counter after it came out. "Do you?" She snapped back, the enunciation of the 'you' harsher than she had intended.
The effect was instant, her question giving him pause. Did he? Now reflecting on it, Sy realized he had never asked himself that question. It was just something that you did. First you got a house, then you found a wife and started a family. He had never thought about it as an option, just as the next step if he was lucky enough not to die in Iraq.
"I'm so sorry," Ada apologized, her tone alone expressing her regret. She took his hand, forcing him to look at her only to find her eyes glistening as she attempted not to cry. "I didn't mean it like that. I wasn't questioning your parenting skills. I know you'd make a fantastic father, Sy." Her eyes closed as she took a deep breath before opening them again, their corners wet with tears this time. "I just never saw myself having kids, but if it's something you really -"
"I ain't gonna force you to start a family with me," Sy rebuffed, offended at the very thought. The abruption of it even making Ada smile, if only briefly.
She shook her head quickly. "What I meant was that if you want to be a father, then I wish for you to become one. But... I won't be a part of that scenario."
"No." He said, dismissing the idea as soon as she voiced it, catching her hands in his and stilling them midair when she started gesticulating instead.
"No, this is important!" Ada protested. "I want you to be happy, Sy. And I won't stand in the way of your happiness. You deserve to live the life you want and if that includes a family -"
"No." Sy ordered, his tone final and resolute, silencing her instantly. He had never used this voice with her in the past, usually reserving it for the soldiers in his unit. "Stop with that ridiculous suggestion, woman." Ada blinked. It was obvious in her eyes that she wanted to argue but she didn't dare defy his hard stare.
Sy closed his eyes and swallowed, searching for the right words. "The choice between having kids with some other woman or getting to be with you, is a damn easy one. I'd rather we be a family of two than have children with some woman I could never love."
She was crying again, tears streaming down her reddened cheeks. Had he said something wrong? Ada didn't let him wonder for too long, her hand fisting in his t-shirt to pull him down to her lips for a ravenous kiss, their teeth clicking together.
"You know," Ada breathed out against his lips once they parted for air. "It doesn't have to be just the two of us. I am partial to pets."
Later in bed, with his sleeping wife snoring softly and her head resting on his chest, Sy tried to process their conversation only to realize there wasn't much to process at all. It didn't feel that much like giving up on a dream, as it felt like defining the contours his future with Ada. All that mattered to him was that it was a future with the woman whose contagious laugh he had manifested in his mind time and time again to drown out the sound of gunfire and make it through. Children might have been a bonus, he wouldn’t deny that, but their absence was something he could live with. He couldn’t same the thing about Ada.
°°°
"Got your," Sy paused, frowning as he read off the label, entering the kitchen, "Willamette Valley Pinot noir. How many do you need?"
Ada looked away from the oven to find him carrying four bottles of her favorite wine. Did he think they were drunkheads? "Do you want for Tom to have to spend the night here because we're all over the legal alcohol limit and unable to drive?" She laughed.
Sy grimaced. "One bottle it is," he announced, making her laugh all the harder as he set down a single bottle on the table that was already set before casting away the other bottles in the pantry - where they did not, in fact, belong.
Just as was his habit, Sy sneaked up on his wife as she leaned over the kitchen counter, putting away the remaining ingredients and hugged her back to him with one arm. He then dipped a finger in the jar she had filled with leftover caramel and brought it to mouth.
She gasped at his manners. "You can't just stick your fingers in everything that's sweet and lick it off, Sy," Ada chided. She heard it as soon as the words left her mouth, but it was too late.
A deep laugh rumbled in his chest behind her. "Can't I?" Sy goaded her mockingly.
Ada took a deep breath. She knew where this was headed and they didn't have time. It was primordial her pie didn't overcook, and Tom would be there soon. "You know what I meant," she groaned, attempting to sound annoyed but he could hear the smile in her voice.
"Do I?" He whispered against her ear, his beard tickling her skin and his warm breath making her shiver as he slid his hand under her skirt until he was cupping her damp sex over her panties. "Are you certain about that, darlin'?"
Her hands held on to the counter and her eyes closed as he started rubbing his hand along her folds over the fabric. He was also beginning to harden behind at an impressive rate. The temptation made her whimper. "We don't have time," Ada protested, even as her head fell back against him and she leaned into his touch, silently begging for more as she not-so innocently ground her ass on his crotch.
A swift glance at the clock on the wall told him all he needed to know. They had seven minutes. It would have to be enough, Sy decided. Time being of the essence, he was determined not to waste any.
“Open up your legs for your captain, darlin’,” he rasped, his nose nuzzling in the shallow of her neck, his hands already busy bunching up the soft fabric of her skirt around her waist.
“Sy,” Ada lightheartedly protested his eagerness. The idea was certainly enticing but they truly didn’t have time and she really needed to keep an eye on the pie. “We can’t-“
“I said, open your legs,” he repeated, gritting out the words as his foot snuck between her ankles, forcing her legs open himself. Sy barely had to apply any pressure, Ada complied instantly at his tone. There were very few situations in which she let him boss her around and this was one of them.
His hands brushed over her naked thighs, enjoying the way she shivered as he did so. Sliding his fingers higher up her inner legs, Sy expertly slid the scanty lace of her thong aside in order to access her clit. Ada keened under his touch, the rough skin of his finger pads slowly circling her already swollen nub. She couldn’t decide between pressing into his touch or attempting to pull away from it; it was both too little and too much all at once. “Already so wet and I’ve barely done anything to you,” he teased, hoping to sound less worked up than he was. Sy was set on keeping the upper hand. “Tell me, what is it that you want, darlin’?”
Ada whined as he removed his fingers from her core, his hands going to her hips instead and pulling her to him, letting her feel how hard he was for her. His wife reacted by rubbing her ass against him, determined to get what she wanted without having to voice it. “Sy,” she complained when he didn’t bite the bait, still grinding on him, surely getting his jeans wet with her slick.
“That’s not how it works, darlin’,” he chastised, going back to teasing her. His touch was ghostlike, too light to provide any real satisfaction and she groaned in frustration. “You have to ask for it like a good girl.”
He felt her body tense up against his as she tried chasing the friction of his fingers where she wanted them most, but Sy drew away before she could. “I swear to God I am going to make you regret-“
Smack. Ada gasped at the sharp spank on her ass, her body bending over the counter at the impact. Her ass was just too tempting in this position and Sy was running out of patience. “Ask like a good girl,” he ordered between gritted teeth, his hand descending to palm his crotch, hoping for some relief. Her little stunt was turning him on more than it should have.
“God, Sy, just fuck me already!” She sobbed, her legs rubbing together out of their own volition but her husband stayed put, rubbing his palm of his covered cock as he watched her. He wasn’t going to give up any time soon, she realized with a strangled sigh. “Please fuck me, captain,” she whispered, relenting.
Within a second, Sy was unbuckling his belt and pulling down his zipper. His cock was red, hard and throbbing impatiently. With time running out, Sy pushed himself into her without a warning. Ada whined at the stretch, gripping at the flour covered kitchen counter as one of his hands grabbed hold of her hips, the other moving to her breast. Then he started ploughing into her like there was no tomorrow.
Ada kept whimpering his name, but even she didn’t know what it was she was asking for. Her hips were digging into the cold stone and she knew there would be bruises come morning. He had barely started fucking her and she was already beginning to tense up with how worked up she was. “Are you gonna cum for me, darlin’?” Sy grunted, his jaw tense as her inner muscles clenched all around his cock. Ada nodded meekly, unable to speak. Just when he was starting to doubt he’d be able to hold off long enough for her to climax, Ada cried out, her tight walls milking him as she came. Sy exploded inside her with a strangled groan, slowly coming to a still inside her.
The doorbell rang. At seven o’clock on the dot.
"Fucking Brits and their punctuality!" Sy cursed, still panting before pulling away from her and tepidly leaving her warmth. Ada chuckled at his reaction, holding onto the counter for support for a few more seconds until she felt somewhat steady on her feet.
Sy tucked himself back into his pants and she adjusted her skirt over her thighs again before letting out a panicked squeak and turning around. Her front was covered in the flour she has spread on counter for the pie and the white handprint on her breast where he had held on to her was very visible on her black blouse. Sy couldn't keep himself from laughing. She looked great if you asked him, especially since Tom would be going to see just how well he took care of her. "I'll go get changed and you get the door!"
°°°
Sy’s eyes widened, positively surprised as he brought the first forkful of boeuf bourguignon to his mouth. The dish hadn’t appeared particularly appetizing on the plate, but it tasted so much better than it looked. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Ada glancing at him with an ‘I told you so’ smirk.
“I received a new shipment of books at the store today,” Tom told Ada in between bites. He owned a bookstore downtown, Sy had learnt. “There’s a new murder mystery I’m sure you’ll love.”
Ada stilled, a look of excitement washing over her face. “Is there… poison?”
Tom laughed. He had expected that question from her. “Ah, yes. And it’s set in the 1920s!”
Sy glanced from the one to the other, forcing himself not to sigh. Ada’s excitement was adorable, but Tom was grating on his nerves. All the conversation so far had been about novels they’d read recently.
“Please tell me that you saved me a copy.” Ada shrieked enthusiastically, prompting Tom to laugh before he suddenly producer a hardcover out of seemingly thin air. As if she was scared that he was only taunting her with it, Ada leaned over the table and snatched the book out of his hand, a smug look on her face before she started reading the back cover. Sy looked at her and chuckled, shaking his head fondly at her almost childish elation.
"So, where did you two meet?" Tom asked, shifting his attention to Sy. "Ada always told me that it was a story for another time."
Sy's grip tightened on his cutlery. Admittedly, the strong animosity toward the man had faded, but he was still not keen on making conversation with the man. "Here in Austin," Sy replied before going back to his food. Ada had to stifle a laugh at the face Tom made at the curt answer.
"I'll tell you," she offered, capturing Tom's attention. "I had just graduated with my Masters and managed to land a PhD position here in Austin. I was freshly debarked out of France and I was only to start to start mid January but I flew over in December already - wanting to fly with my own wings and all that." Tom chuckled as she gestured derisively with the story.
"Anyway, I hadn't found a flat yet, all my stuff was in a storage unit and I had the brilliant idea of going to Vegas. On my own. In a 1979 black Camaro rental."
Sy finally looked up from his plate. "It was from 1980 and it was dark gray, not black, darling’."
Ada found herself staring curiously at her husband as he interrupted her story before laughing. That's what it took to get him to talk?
"So, it was a 1979, dark gray Camaro,” Ada correctly herself. “Anyway, obviously it did not have a navigation system and I stopped at one of the few open bars open at 5pm on Christmas Eve, ordered a beer and tried making sense of the maps I found in the glovebox, making a list of the different exits and turns I would have to make.
"Sy was there drinking with some friends – loud friends, might I add. Well, I am struggling with the maps and he must notice because he approaches me at the counter, takes of his cap and asks me if I need help, in his southern drawl. Actually, no wait, his exact words were” Ada paused, clearing her voice. “’Need some help reading that map, darling?'" Tom laughed at her ridiculous attempt to imitate Sy’s baritone voice. To Ada's surprise, Sy blushed. It was barely visible beneath his beard, but it was there and it was the cutest thing she had ever seen.
"I looked down at the map she was studying and asked her if she was headed somewhere on the east coast. She then slowly looked at me and confidently told me she was going to Nevada, until I pointed out that she was highlighting the road that went East and her face burned up, all self-conscious." Sy recounted, now laughing as well and even Tom scoffed. " I said: ‘At this point, even a navigation system can’t help you, darlin’. You’d need an escort.”
Ada bit her lip, remembering that moment clearly in her mind. She had flushed, staring at the muscular man that towered next to her. He was burly and rugged and yet still exhaled a little softness behind it all. 'Well then, will you be my escort to Vegas? I am leaving tonight,' she had blurted out before she could stop herself.
"I cannot believe you drove from Austin to Las Vegas with a stranger, Ada!" Tom said teasingly, clearly surprised by his friend’s spontaneity and recklessness.
"Yes, I made him miss Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with his family, and the best part is that we got married the day we reached Vegas on New Year’s Eve.” They had stopped a few times along the way, visited some towns and she had only known Sy for seven days when we got hitched at the kitschiest chapel imaginable. “We had to hurry to get a marriage license before the courthouse closed and a half-naked dude officiated because everyone else was already booked.”
Sy chuckled, sitting back against his chair and wrapping his arm around Ada's shoulders possessively. "She made me wear my old uniform that lasted all of fifteen minutes and was presided by an officer dressed as a cherub." He gestured at the framed picture standing on the cupboard next to them.
They looked absolutely ridiculous. Sy's uniform made him look too serious next to a tipsy Ada who wore the only white dress she had been able to find on such short notice and that definitely hadn’t been meant for a wedding because it turned out to be partly see-through under the camera flashes.
Ada shared some more stories about Vegas before excusing herself to the bathroom, the conversation instantly dying out as she disappeared, leaving both men in an uncomfortable silence until Sy’s curiosity got to him.
"So, you and her...?" Sy left his question unfinished. He wasn't sure what exactly it was that he was asking, he just wanted to know all there was to know.
In front of him, Tom gracefully dabbed him mouth with the ivory napkin and shook his head, with a tight smile. "No, nothing of the sort," the Englishman replied dismissively before Sy's inquiring stare forced him to expound. "It's not that I didn't think of pursuing something more with her, but Ada made it very clear from the beginning that she was a married woman and a faithful wife."
Sy hummed noncommittally, though internally he was reassured and maybe even elated. Mike had really filled his head with shit. Deep down, he always knew his Ada wasn't like that, it just felt good to hear it.
"My wife, for whom I left England, passed away only two months before Ada and I met. I was going through a rough patch then - and that's a euphemism. Carla had been talking to me about watching a particular film ever since it had been announced, it was an adaptation of her favorite novel." Tom explained, a smile warming up his features. "When she died before it premiered, I wasn't even sure if I even wanted to watch it without her... But the tickets had already been purchased and part of me hoped that for two hours, it would feel like Carla was sitting right next to me."
Sy listened, feeling sympathetic, if not a little uncomfortable by the man’s openness. He still wanted to dislike Tom but at the same time he couldn't imagine the wreck he'd be if Ada were to die on him.
"The cinema was packed and to accommodate a large group, Ada asked whether I minded if she sat down next to me,” Tom paused briefly, smiling at the memory. “I think it was listening to her laugh, cry and eat popcorn next to me during the movie that gave me the strength to drive home instead of off a cliff that night."
Sy gulped down the rest of his wine, still not a fan of the taste as he faced the Englishman before him. Not that he would ever say it out loud, but if he had failed to make it alive out of that godforsaken desert, he had to concede Tom would not have been the worst for Ada.
Silence fell again and Sy became uncomfortable, deciding to pour Tom some more wine. “I am glad Ada and you were there for each other.” When I should’ve been there for her myself but wasn’t, Sy thought but left it unsaid.
Tom chuckled as he observed the burly man in front of him. For all his muscles and gruff exterior, he carried the slightest of insecurities when it came to his wife. "There's a thick silver notebook Ada has kept for a couple of years. Maybe you should have a look at it.”
Sy wanted to ask what he was talking about but was interrupted by the sound of Ada's high heels clicking on the wooden floor as she made her way back to them. "I hope you weren't talking ill of me behind my back," she teased, squeezing Sy's shoulder absentmindedly. "Now, who's ready for my slightly overcooked tarte tatin.” Ada eyed her husband pointedly.
The smell of coffee caused me to stir from a deep sleep. That and the half-naked grizzly bear peppering kisses across the back of my neck and shoulder. I smiled to myself and yawned, turning to face him.
“Well, good morning Darlin’,” He grinned. I just smiled, snuggling up closer to him. “You sleep okay?” He asked, he gently grabbed the back of my thigh pulling my leg over him, and started softly stroking my hip with his thumb.
“Mmm yes,” I hummed “best I’ve slept in a long time,” I said. Scratching my fingers through the hair on his chest.  “A little sore though,” I blushed. I don’t know how he made me so comfortable and so shy at the same time. He smirked, giving my ass a hard squeeze.
“Was I too rough with you last night baby?” He raised an eyebrow as he continued to massage my hip. I bit my lip and shook my head.
“No,” I smirked.  “I liked it,” I looked up at him, holding his gaze as he chuckled.
“Oh, I know you did sugar, remind me again how many times you came for me?” He wiggled his eyebrows and I rolled my eyes and smacked him playfully on the arm
“Stop it,” I blushed.
“Was it 3,” He continued. “No, that was just the first time. Think I pulled 3 more from you when you were feeling me up in the middle of the night.” He smirked. I scoffed.
“Me? I’m pretty sure you were the one all over me cowboy.” In a rush of confidence, I threw my leg over him, ignoring the screaming in my thighs from the night before, and sat up in his lap straddling him. He grabbed my hips letting me rub myself over his boxers.
“Now don’t start something you can’t finish baby,” He growled. “I know you gotta be sore,” he smirked. Cocky bastard. But he was right. I pouted. He slid his big hands up my sides bringing one hand around to the back of my neck and pulling me down for a gentle kiss. “I ain’t goin' anywhere sugar, took me this long to getcha, I’m not letting you go, We’ll have plenty of time for fooling around baby.” He smirked, running his hand over my chest and toying with my nipple for a moment. I arched my back letting out a soft whimper and he chuckled. He brought his hand back down to squeeze my hip. “Easy Darlin,” he warned, “you need to rest, and we need to get back to your car and see if we can get it to start.” I sighed, laying my head on his chest.
“I forgot about that, I’d rather just lay here all day.” I pouted again causing him to chuckle
“I know sugar, me too. But I wanna do this right. And holding you captive in my bed all day isn’t a very gentlemanly thing to do.” He smirked. I snorted.
“Huh, and what we did last night was?” I smirked raising an eyebrow. He shook his head.
“Had to get you out of my system darlin, after you kissed me like that. I didn’t know you had that in ya,” He licked his lips looking me over. I blushed and finally slid off his lap getting out of bed.
“Okay, we really do need to get up before we get started again. I’ve been talking a lot of big games but, I know I can’t handle any more right now,” I blushed again biting my lip and staring at his bedroom floor.  He stood from the bed and wrapped his arms around me pulling my body against his. He lifted my chin to meet his gaze and he just smiled kissing me passionately.
“I’m glad you stayed last night sugar, I’ve been dreaming about having you in bed for a long fuckin time, but I’m gonna take you out on a real date, and treat you like a lady before we do this again,” He smiled proudly.
“I’d like that a lot Logan,” I smiled standing on my toes to kiss him again before we finally parted. It was at that point I realized I was still naked. I covered my chest with my arms and he chuckled.
“I’ve already seen it all baby, I ... uh, went and gathered all your clothes from around the house this morning there on the dresser.” He nodded toward his dresser behind me. “Bathroom’s across the hall if you wanna shower. I can make you a cup of coffee if you’d like?” He rubbed his hands up and down my arms softly. I looked up at him through my eyelashes.
“You could join me.” I teased.
“I wouldn’t be able to keep my hands off you sugar, and I meant what I said, I’m not fucking you again until I take you out.” My breath caught in my throat. God he could be so dirty, I love learning this side of him. He could tell what he was doing to me. I hated how easy it was for him to read me. He already had a cocky smirk on his face. “Don’t worry baby, I ain’t gonna make you wait long. Go freshen up and we can talk in detail while we get your car fixed.” I’d almost forgotten about that again. I smiled grabbing my clothes off his dresser and heading out of his room but not before he smacked me my ass one more time. I just laughed and rolled my eyes.
After my shower, he greeted me with a travel mug of coffee and handed me another one of his hoodies. “It’s cold out there Darlin, we already have a hard enough time trying not to catch a cold from the kids all the time. I blushed and thanked him. God, He was good at this. How could I have been so blind? I followed him out to his truck and after he loaded up his jumper cables in the back we back to the school.
“So,” I said finally breaking our comfortable silence. “Where are you taking me on this date?”  I asked and looked over in time to catch his eye. He smiled.
“Where do you wanna go sugar?” He asked.
“What was your move? Like what was your go-to first date when you were younger?” I asked. He laughed.
“You didn’t know me then baby, I was…. I was something else. You wouldn’t have liked me then,” He said.
“Oh yeah?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
“I was trouble,” He chuckled.
“Yeah, well maybe I liked bad boys back then, I would’ve been naive and tried to “fix you”  or whatever they call it.” I laughed.
“A good girl like you, I’d have broken your heart baby, and I’d have kicked myself for it, ruining a change with a beauty like you.” I blushed.
“Sy, stop.” I smiled. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it softly as he kept driving down the road.
“I told you, baby, I’m gonna help you see yourself the way I do.” He kissed my hand. And I smiled. We were quiet again for a few minutes.
“Is that why you joined the military?” I asked. “Because you got into so much trouble?” He nodded squeezing my hand again.
“Yeah, It was getting pretty bad sugar I’m not gonna lie to ya. I got mixed up with a bad crowd. It was either the service or I was eventually gonna end up in prison. I didn’t like how sad my mama looked when I came home in cuffs the last time.” I nodded squeezing his hand tighter letting him know I was listening. “Of course, it scared her to death when I told her I was going to be on active duty, but I think she knew why I was doing it.” He swallowed hard and looked over at me. For the first time since I’d met him, he looked… shy. “What got you into coaching after that?” I said changing the subject attempting to ease the tension.
“Well after I retired officially from service. I still wanted to do something ya know? And I’d always loved football, I played when I was in school, linebacker,” He smiled proudly. “Military pays for school so I went for my degree. Major’d in history so I could take a teaching position. I’m glad I did. Or I wouldn’ta met you.”
“Smooth,” I smiled
“Worked though didn’t it, you’re blushin’” He smirked.
“You always make me blush,” I stated matter of fact.
“I noticed” He winked.
We pulled into the teacher parking lot then. He parked close in front of my car and hopped out popping the hood of his truck. “Pop your hood for me sugar,” He smiled. I opened my car door pulled the lever and listened for the “Pop” sound signaling that the hood of my car was open. That was about all I was good for. I stepped back and let him do the rest. I was definitely not a car girl. I watched as he opened the hood and propped it up. Something stuck a flame inside of me watching him tinker around hooking up the jumper cables. Jesus, how was it possible for him to be more attractive. I cleared my throat
“Thanks for doing this,” I said. Wringing my wrist awkwardly. He looked over and smiled as he carefully attached the last cable to his truck.
“Of course Darlin, I wasn’t gonna leave you stranded. And I sure as hell wasn’t going to leave you here to call some towing service or something, assholes like that always take advantage of women. I wouldn’t let that happen to you.” I bit my lip
“You really are such a gentleman Sy,”
“It ain’t no big deal baby. If this doesn’t do the job it’s probably the battery, I can take you to get one and change it right here.” He said. Fuck. As much as I didn’t want to spend the money I really wanted to see that. All sweaty, muscles rippling, up to his elbows in grease. I had to snap out of it.
“I didn’t know you were a mechanic, Jack of all trades huh?” He chuckled and rubbed the back of my neck.
“Not professionally but I did rebuild the engine in my first truck, and I do most of the maintenance on this one. More of a hobby than anything I guess. Just like to keep busy.”  He was killing me and he had no idea.
“Ah, so when Darcy needs an oil change I can bring her to you captain?” He chuckled.
“You named your car Darcy?” He raised an eyebrow, smirking.
“What can I say, I’m a Pride and Prejudice fan! You know I’m a book lover!” I exclaimed. He smiled and grabbed my hips pulling me closer.
“That I do, I’d be more than happy to help you with anything you need Sugar,” He leaned in and kissed me softly.
“You know,” I said smiling as we pulled away, “you never answered me earlier, where are you taking me,” I asked. He raised an eyebrow questioningly
“You never answered me, where do you wanna go?” He asked. I sighed and chuckled.
“Not this again, surprise me, you set everything up last night didn’t you.” I think he was blushing now.
“I did, and if I didn’t screw it up so catastrophically,” I cut him off
“You didn’t! I did! What you did. What you had planned was so sweet Logan. I just let my own insecurities get in my way. I’m sure whatever you plan for us will be perfect!’ I smiled. He nodded and kissed me again.
“Alright, Well let me think on it, let's see if we can get your car to start. Got your keys?” I handed them to him and he sunk down into my little car into the driver seat. I  could get used to mundane little things like this. He put the key in the ignition and thank God! It started right up! “There we go! Just drained your battery. If I let you go can I trust you not to end up stranded on the side of the road somewhere?” He chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist and holding me for a second. I laughed and nodded.
“Yes, I’m not usually an airhead like that. I was just… distracted. I’ll text you and let you know I made it home.” I smiled and kissed him again.
“Okay.” He smiled kissing me again. And again.
“Logan, you have to let me go eventually,” I laughed.
“I don’t want to,” He chuckled kissing me one more time on the lips and then pressed his lips to my forehead.  “Alright, be safe baby,” He said finally letting me out of his hold.
“I’ll see you Monday Logan,” I said
“Bye Sugar,” He said as I got into my car.
I immediately called the girls in a group call as soon as I got home. After I sent Sy a text telling him I’d made it home of course.
“Oh my god, tell me everything!” Skyler started.
“You had sex with him didn’t you?” Hayley asked.
“Wow that escalated quickly, I laughed jumping up and sitting on my counter wincing slightly at the shock between my legs. Okay so I did but let me get to that part! I poured myself a glass of wine while they continued.
“Are you gonna tell us are not, this is torture,” Skyler said groaning.
“Calm down I’m gonna tell you!” I said.  “So we got back to the school last night right, and I was totally going to chicken out. I was going to ignore everything I’m going to be completely honest, I acted like an idiot and I was so embarrassed.”  I said.
“So what changed your mind? Because clearly, it sounds like you didn’t do that.” Hayley said. I took a long sip of wine.
“Well, my car wouldn’t start.”
“Oh shit!” Skyler said “What did you do? How did you get home? Oh my god did he drive you home?!” She asked excitedly.
“I’m getting to that!” I said. “He was going to help me but neither of us had our jumper cables. And it was late. I was emotionally drained. I had this big mental breakdown. This man literally holds me in the middle of the parking lot!”
“Oh my god stop! Wait don’t stop keep going I need to know more!” Skyler said. We all chuckled at that.
“Dude,” Hayley laughed.
“What I’m happy for her!”
“Okay fair,” She said. “Continue my dude.”
“Thank you, So anyway, that’s when we figured out we didn’t have the jumper cables and then I don’t know what happened exactly but he asked me if he was doing something wrong. And tells me he’s been flirting with me forever and…”
“I fucking told you!” Skyler interrupted.
“Yeah, I know, I know,” I said  “Anyway so he tells me how he’s felt all this time, and I broke down again and told him everything I’d texted you guys earlier. And… He told me he was going to make me see how beautiful he thinks I am and then we… made out... In the parking lot.” There was a squeal from the other end of the phone. I knew it was Skyler.
“Dude that’s awesome!” Hayley said. “So are you guys like dating now?”
“Well he’s been calling me baby all day and he said he won’t have sex with me again until he takes me out for real,”
“So you did have sex!” Skyler squealed again. I blushed.
“We did, in the parking lot he said he wanted to take me home with him. When he started to drive me home I asked if he meant it….and I asked him to take me home with him.
“Look at you being bold!” Hayley said.
“How was it? Is he mmm,” Skyler laughed and her voice trailed off insinuating she was asking about his size.
“I am not telling you about that. But I’m still sore I’ll tell you that much.” I laughed.
“Oh gross!” Hayley groaned.
“Oh, he is then!” Skyler laughed.
“Oh my god, well hey I have to go I need to get caught up on some stuff around the house and for work but I’ll see you guys for dinner on Thursday! And I’ll text you,” I said
“Okay love you!”
“Love you, dude!”
I hung up the phone and smiled to myself. I really couldn’t believe this was my life. I downed the rest of the glass of wine and got up to do some housework.
I didn’t do much the rest of the weekend just lay around working on progress notes and reading a little bit. Sy texted a few times. He asked my favorite color and favorite food. I think he was trying to narrow things down for the date.
Monday morning rolled around again fast. I woke up early to get ready for work, I kept it simple with some flowy plants and a sweater. Fall Is definitely making its entrance. As I was heading out the door I saw I had a text from Sy
“Morning Sugar, I’ve got coffee this morning ;) see you in a bit.”
I smiled to myself and locked the door behind me as I left for school.
“Good morning! How was your weekend?” I greeted Jessica at the front desk as I walked into the guidance office.
“You’re awfully chipper this morning,” She smiled “How was your weekend, Sugar?” she smirked.
“You knew didn’t you?” I asked setting my things on my desk. She just smiled
“How was the game?” she asked.
“It was great! Would’ve been better If I didn’t get in my own way so much. But you already know that, you’ve been telling me that for years.” I laughed.
“Carol came down last week when you were on lunch and told me all about Sy’s little plan, she was so excited for you. I just hoped you’d be open to him enough to let it happen.”
“I wasn’t, but He is the kindest man on the planet so it all worked out.”
“Well good! So how long til we see you parading around with a ring on your finger,” She smirked.
“Oh hush we haven’t even been on a date yet!” I teased
“But we will,” Sy came around the corner holding a cup holder of coffee, his signature smirk on his face. “Good morning ladies, What are we gossiping about this morning,” chuckled sending Jess a playful wink. She laughed
“Oh nothing, Coach. Just talking about your victory Friday night.” she smiled Sy looked over and smiled at me
“Oh yeah, it was a big win.” He winked. “Jess I went ahead and picked you up coffee too Alayna sent in your order.” He smiled at her handing her the cup.
“You’re so sweet Sy thank you!” She looked over at me and smiled
“If he’s gonna be wrapped around my finger might as well use it to our advantage!” I smirked.
“Hey now! I’m more than an errand boy!” He pouted.
“I know honey, but you’re just so good at it,” I teased.
“Well if that’s how you’re gonna be then maybe I won’t take you out Saturday,” He smirked.
“Whoa, now hold on, we can figure something out,” I pouted he shook his head.
“You see how she treats me,” He said. Jess laughed
“I can’t with you two I’ve got work to do,” she said. He chuckled.
“Alright sugar, I’ll take you Saturday, If, you come to the game Friday night,” he said smirking.
“Oh so now there’s stipulations. Okay, I’ll bite. I’ll be there. Where are you taking me on Saturday?”
“Well, I remembered you talking about how you loved Grease and you liked the second movie even though it was bad. And you loved the bowling scene because it looked so fun back in the day. So, I thought we could get dinner and then go to the late-night bowling in town sound fun?”
“You remembered me talking about my favorite movie?” I smiled.
“Of course I do,” He smiled. I blushed
“That sounds really fun! I have to warn you though, I’m a horrible bowler.” I laughed.
“I can help you,” He winked.
“Okay then it’s a date,” I said.
“Good, Well I’d better get to my class, you ladies have a wonderful day!” He said walking out of the office. Jessica looked at me and smiled. I couldn’t hide my giddiness. He made me feel like a teenager all over again. I couldn’t get him out of my head. I could not wait for our date on Saturday!
Coach Syverson Part 2
Tumblr media
I really didn't think I was going to finish writing this so soon but ya'll loved the first part! and I love writing this so here it is the final part with all the good stuff! Also it's 4 am and I probably should have proof read this. but I didn't. Iwas so excited to get it posted because You guys BLEW UP the first part so THANK YOU!!!
Warnings: SMUT at the end, Oral (m and f receiving), (p in v), lots of cusring in the end , so much praising because you know he would!!
Sy was in coach mode with the team as I looked over the sign in sheet and greeted the students that were traveling to watch the game. Most of the students were loaded onto the bus now. Thank God because I was so distracted by him. There was something about seeing him like this, he was so in charge and in control. He had their full attention and he never had to work to get it. He had those boys respect the first time he walked out to the field. But he earned it too. He was such a good coach. I loved listening to the way he spoke with them.
“Alright boys,” I listened as he pulled the team into a huddle before they got on the bus next to ours. “Listen first and foremost I want y’all to go out there and pay hard. That’s what we’ve been practicing. We’ve watched their tape. These guys are a little bigger than you but that doesn’t matter. We’re faster. You come at ‘em low and fast they’re gonna go down. Matt I need your eyes on that ball at all times man! We just about lost some points last week because of misdirection and we ain’t gonna let that happen again right?”
“No, sir! I got you coach!”
“Atta boy! Derek, you keep throwing that ball like you’ve been in practice this week and we’ll be in good shape!” Derek just nodded. Sy smiled. “Alright, now boys I don’t want any messing around in the locker room. You go in, and be respectful, I want them talking about how great of character our team has just as much as they’re talking about how good we play, understood?”
“Yes coach!” The boys chanted in unison.
“Alright, load up let’s go!” The boys started cheering. I smiled. I loved watching him with them. The way he got them all fired up. And he matched their energy. He was so adorable right now. Joking around with the boys and
“Hey Miss Plummer!” right, I’m not a teenager watching my crush, I’m an adult, I have a job to do.
“Hi Caitlyn! Are you ready for the game tonight?” I smiled at her. She was all decked out with the eye under eye black and Tyler's jersey number painted on her cheek in the school colors. She and a few of the other girls made t-shirts and were wearing them to support a few of the players they were friends with.
“So ready!!” She squealed, bouncing a little on the balls of her feet. She looked over toward the buses where the team was loading the bus with their equipment, where I had been staring off earlier. “He’s so cute isn’t he?” She said, I raised an eyebrow and smirked a little.
“Are you excited to watch Tyler play?” I chuckled.
“Yeah, But I meant coach Sy, are you two finally together? He totally likes you! Everyone knows it! And you two would be so cute together!! The students talk about it all the time. I mean you’re wearing his hoodie Miss Plummer!” Wow that girl talks fast. He likes… no. But if the students see it? Am I really that blind? He bought my dinner, He brings me coffee, he called me his work wife. But I’m not his body type. These things don’t happen. Are my insecurities really that deep rooted that I can’t take the advice I give my students? But still. When I was in school I remember rumors spreading about teachers seeing each other all the time and they usually…. Well actually. Now that I think about it. They normally ended up being true. Some of them were even scandals. I shook my head.
“Slow down sweetheart,” I managed to let out a chuckle even though I kind of felt like I was having a crisis. “Coach Sy and I are friends, I’m just borrowing his sweatshirt because I didn’t have one. It’s sweet that you all care about us so much. I love that. I do. But well, that’s all it is, honey.” She nodded sadly. And looked back at the other bus and over at Sy. He caught us looking at him and smiled.
“Miss Plummer,” She sighed exasperated, like me not understanding my own love life was exhausting for her.   “I don’t wanna over step but I overheard him and Mrs. Spencer talking. She came into his class at the end of the day Wednesday smiling and stuff. And like I wasn’t TRYING to eavesdrop but I heard them talk about you and I just couldn’t resist ya know? Anyway, she said she had this idea, she could back out of coming today so he could hang out with you and well…. Nevermind.” I raised an eyebrow.
“Caitlyn, what have we said about gossiping?” I said.
“Girl, It’s true though, that man’s got it bad for you Miss P.” I shook my head and smiled
“Get on the bus Caitlyn,”
“Okay fine, But when you guys get married, can I be in the wedding?” I rolled my eyes. “Guess that’s a no.” She said and stepped on the bus. I looked over one last time. Sy was double checking something on his clipboard while the boys finished up. He looked up and we made eye contact. He winked and I blushed, giving him a little wave before I followed Caitlyn on to the bus. Things took off fast when we got to the other school. Sy took the boys straight to the locker room to gear up because we got a little stuck in traffic. Myself and the two other chaperones led the students to their section in the bleachers and about 15 minutes later we were at kick off. Sy was completely in his comfort zone out there.
Our boys had the ball first. Sy had his couch voice on shouting a couple of corrections from the sidelines. The team made a good play but in the end the other boys were bigger and their defense was strong. We had to settle for three points instead of a touchdown.
The whole first quarter of the game stayed that way. The boys managed to keep the other team out of the end zone. The start of the second quarter the other team had the ball. They made a play and when one of our boys Zach Owens went to tackle the player he lost his footing. It had rained earlier in the day and the  He slipped but still grabbed the player by the ankle. He got him down but he ended up at the bottom of a dog pile. Another player reached out to give Zach a hand to help him up, but he fell back immediately when he tried to stand. He was hurt.
I immediately looked to Sy, I was on the first level of the bleachers standing against the railing. I was close enough to see him curse under his breath before running onto the field. The medic followed him out. I walked out to the sideline. Sy and the medic got Zach up but he couldn’t put any pressure on his left ankle. Everyone cheered for him while they walked him off the field. Poor kid was going to be out the rest of the game.
“You’re gonna be alright man,” Sy said as they got him to the bench. “This guy’s gonna wrap that ankle and then you just chill here. Just breathe,” He clapped him on the shoulder and turned back to his place on the sidelines. The boys were starting the next play and already the other team scored a touchdown on us. I walked up to him hesitantly. He shouted something about tightening the defense. I jumped a little. I'd never been this close to him in coach mode. It was kinda hot though. What was I saying? I came up next to him brushing my shoulder against his.  He looked over and his shoulders relaxed a little and he smiled when he saw it was me. “Hey Sugar,”
“Is he gonna be okay?” I asked. He nodded.
“Yeah, It’s not broken but he sprained it real good. He’s gonna be down at least a couple weeks. He’s our best tackle.” He sighed softly and his lips quirked up into a sad lopsided smile
“I know, that’s gonna kill us. But the boys can pull through. They’ve got you as a coach.” I smiled. He threw his arm around me and pulled me against his side squeezing my shoulder.
“You’re so damn sweet,” he said. I blushed and turned into his shoulder to hide my face. “You’re freezing, darling,” He ran his hand up and down my arm for a minute “shit,” he mumbled. He pulled out a 10 dollar bill from his pocket “I told ya I pay for coffee tonight, meant to give this to you earlier.”  He looked down at me, his blue eyes briefly holding my gaze as he grinned.
“Logan you don’t have to do that,” I said trying to push his hand away. He raised an eyebrow and shook his head.
“You say that an awful lot. I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t want to. Now quit arguing with me and take it.” He narrowed his eyes at me and nodded down at the cash in his hand. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
“You know, you can be a real diva when you don’t get you’re way.” I said taking it from him.
“Are you complaining about free coffee?” He smirked and pulled me close to his side again keeping me warm.
“No,” I chuckled softly. I looked back at the bleachers watching some of my kids for a second. A few of them were a little two close for comfort. “I’d better get back up there,” I said sadly. I really liked being next to him.
“Yeah, I guess you should.” He left his arm around me a few seconds longer before he finally let me go. He was such a teddy bear sometimes. As I was making my way back to the bleachers I heard. A few of the boys on the team talking,
“OOOOH Coach you look at you,” One of them said
“That was smooth. Can you teach me how to do that?”
“You gonna be gettin some later coach.” The last one spoke. Logan’s voice was stern but still playful.
“Y’all wanna match zach on the bench next week? I won’t hesitate. Watch it! What is that an extra 3 laps to the 5 you were already running on monday Tyler?” He smirked.
“Damn Coach!! You Savage!” One of the other boys piped in.
“You wanna join him, Jake?” He mused.
“No Sir, I’m good!” He spoke quickly and I laughed to myself as I walked back up the bleachers.
I sat with the students for a while breaking up a few young couples trying to get a little too close while they were away from mom and dad. I hated to be a buzzkill but they know the rules.
Sy was back on high alert. At the start of the third quarter the boys were down by 10 points. They shouldn’t have been the refs missed and obvious penalty against the other team for shoving one of our guys. I was definitely part of the crowd that was screaming at that point. But right now Derek, our quarterback had gotten the boys down the field and they were set up for another touch down. They made the play. He threw a complete pass to tyler and they got the points! Every was cheering. With the extra kick good the boys only need one more touch down to get ahead.
The rest of the quarter went by and then only 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The team was still down by 3 points. The clock was running out they had 45 seconds left we had the ball but we were only at the 40 yard line. We needed a miracle. But Sy taught our boys well. Derek found an opening and through a perfect pass down the field to Matt. The whole crowd was on their feet. He Caught the pass at the 20 yard line and ran the rest of the way down the field into the end zone with 10 seconds left. We got the touch down. The student section was shaking the bleachers jumping around. The game finished and we let the kids run down to wait by the gate to make  a tunnel for the team to run through. I walked down to the side lines to wait in a crowd of people to see the winning coach.
While I looked over keeping an eye on the kids while they celebrated with the team. I held my coffe close to my chest too keep me and my hands warm. I loved seeing Sy like this. This is totally where he belonged. He looked famous talking with the other coaches and people asking him about what he was working on with the team. I over heard two ladies having a conversation a few feet infront of me.
“Their coach is so handsome,” The first one said. She was tall, Thin long blonde hair. Wearing some sporty leggings the looked super expensive and the other teams spirit wear.
“Oh I know! You think he’s single?” The other said she looked similar to the other woman but a little shorter and her hair was darker.
“I don’t know I saw that lady with him earlier but, he’s gorgeous and well, I mean I don’t wanna sound rude but she seemed a little big to be his type.” The blonde said.
“No I know what you mean when I saw him with his arm around here I was like… if that’s his wife… well he could’ve done better.” My heart dropped. I knew they were talking about me. I felt like I was going to be sick. I knew it. Everything, I’d always felt, every reason I told everyone they were wrong. These two just confirmed it. Logan would never see me as anything more than a friend. My insecurities just kept bubbling to the surface the way I felt about my body and what I’d worked on for years all came rushing back. I ran right passed them missing the shocked look on their faces. They hadn’t realized I’d been so close. It didn’t matter they were right.
I didn’t hear him either. Excusing himself from the other men he’d been talking two and calling after me. I ran into the bathrooms locking the door behind me and took a deep breath. You’re not crying not here. You’re a big girl. Hold it in until you’re alone. I calmed myself down and took one last deep breath before walking back out.
Logan was leaning on the wall outside the door waiting.
“Hey Sugar, you alright? You looked like you were gonna be sick? Feeling okay?” Shit I didn’t even know he’d noticed me walk by. I nodded taking another deep breath and staring at the ground.
“Yeah, just um, felt a little off for a second.” I said. “I’ll be alright. You’d better get back to the boys.” He put his hand on my shoulder and I shrugged him off. I looked up and saw the confused look in his eyes.
“I’m meeting the boys at the bus, it’s a late night so we’re headed straight back.” he stated. “You sure you’re okay sugar, why don’t you ride back with me, I can keep an eye on ya. And the boys wanna thank their good luck charm for being here.” he smiled.
“No, I mean. No that’s sweet of them. And nice of you to offer but. It’s not fair to the others. I said I’d chaperone I can’t just leave them short like that.” I said.
“They won’t be Carol will be …”he paused and groaned.
“What do you mean Carol will be there? She couldn’t come tonight.” I was confused now.
“Damnit this isn’t how I wanted to do this. She was always going to be here. Uh she was helping me out… with…”
“Caitlyn was right,” I cut him off.
“I thought she was listening,” He chuckled and shook his head. “She told ya huh? Well cats out of the bag then, I uh,” He laughed and let out a shaky breath rubbing the back of his neck. “I really like you Darlin’, I have for a while.” He smiled sheepishly and bit his lip. My hands were shaking and all of a sudden I felt sick again. This is what I’d always wanted but I didn’t feel real. I couldn’t be here right now. Surely there was a punchline waiting there always was. This was a joke right. Those women from earlier are right around the corner somewhere recording. How could I be so stupid. I shook my head. Tears were welling up in my eyes.
“I, I have to go, they’re gonna need my help loading the buses.” I said and ran past him toward the parking lot. He called after me but I kept walking. When I got to the parking lot only one of our buses was still there. I let out a slow breath and then sighed. “God I’m a fucking idiot,” I groaned.
“I uh.. Sent the other bus ahead” I heard Sy say from behind me. I stood there for a second quietly and then just nodded. “Wait here, I gotta talk to the boys and then we’ll head out,” He said.
I watched him walk over. Some of the boys started to whistle and holler. I couldn’t hear Logan but he shut it down quick. The boys loaded up into the bus and gestured for me to follow. He gave me a soft smile and followed me on sitting in the seat across from mine. Other than the boys celebrating the game in the back ground it was a silent ride home. How did I screw this up so bad. He planned out this whole thing. But, somehow I still don’t believe this. My phone lit up with a text from the girls.
“How was the game? I saw you guys won!” Skyler sent. I needed them right now. I looked over at sy he was scrolling on his phone, or looking out the window, I didn’t know what to say right now. I texted the girls back.
“The game was good, But I’m an idiot.” I replied.
“How so?” Hayley texted back quickly. I poured out everything into the text. They knew why I felt he shouldn’t like me, even if I never said it. So I’m sure that was no surprise to them. I told them about what those women had said. And my little panic attack. Sy telling me how he felt and how I ran off. And when I finally clicked together that he had put this together so he could ask to take me out. And How I royally fucked it all up.
“Oh Alayna, I’m sorry. That really sucks. But have you tried talking to him about any of this.”  Skyler said.
“I didn’t have the time, and I can’t, He probably already hates me now and realizes I was never worth it anyway.”
“Stop it dude! I don’t wanna hear that from you. Clearly he thinks you are. He went through all that effort because he wanted to make sure he got the right opportunity. So he would care if you told him! You need to tell him what you’re feeling. I know it’s scary but you have to.” Hayley sent back.
“She’s right Alayna, I know this is hard, but he’s not in this to hurt you, I know people have before but girl, You can’t believe for the rest of your life every man is the same. Pull him aside when you get back. You can fix this. We love you!!”
I knew they were right. But I didn’t have much time to muster up the courage to do anything. When I looked up from my phone we were pulling back up to the school. The team got off the bus. “Alright boys! Get home safe, I’ll see you Monday morning for practice,” Sy said before letting them go. I grabbed my things from the bus and headed to my car. But when I got there I noticed something wasn’t right my shoulders slumped. I’d left a light on when I was searching for a jacket. God I hope it didn’t drain my battery. I got in and tried to start it. But of course. What’s that saying. If it can go wrong it will. I got out and slammed the door shut. “Fuck!” I shouted. I couldn’t help it now the damn broke and I couldn’t help but start crying “I’m so stupid!” I kicked at  tire and slammed my fist on the hood of my car. “Ow fuck!” I held my hand that was now throbbing.
“Woah, Hey, What’s going on?” Sy asked coming up behind me quicking after hearing me shouting.
“It’s nothing, I'm sorry. My… battery died. I left a light on. My car won’t start.” I hiccuped trying to control my breathing. He pulled me into his chest and hugged me.
“Okay, It’s gonna be alright. Breath. Good girl. Calm down.” He spoke softly. “Now,” he pulled away slightly to look at me in they eyes. “Do you have jumper cables?” I shook my head
“No I, had some old ones and I threw them out and never replaced them I… forgot.” he nodded. And let go leaving me against his car to go check the tool box in the back of his truck.
“Shoot. Yeah, I thought so,” He mumbled to himself, “Sorry, sugar. I left mine in my garage.” He said. I nodded. “It’ll be fine here tonight, I can take you home.” Again I just nodded. I heard him let out a deep breath. “Did I,” He paused. “Did I do something wrong? I, I just thought... Maybe I was reading it wrong. I was just sure that you felt…”
“I do,” I said cutting him off. “ I do feel the same. I just don’t understand why, you feel the way you do. I …” I didn’t know what else to say I just kept staring at the pavement.
“What do you mean? Why wouldn’t I? You’re gorgeous. Shit, I’ve been flirtin’ with you since I met you. You really couldn’t see it?” I shook my head.
“No,” I said finally looking up at him. “I wanted to. I really wanted to, but I just couldn’t believe that a guy as good looking as you would find me attractive.” I said. He chuckled softly. “Don’t laugh at me!” I pouted.
“I’m not, it’s just, baby, you might just be the dumbest smart girl i’ve ever met. Seriously, that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. And I coach teenage boys!” I smiled a little. “There she is. You wanna tell me what’s goin on in that pretty little head of yours? He asked. I took a deep breath. It’s now or never.
“I was waiting to talk to you after the game, and I heard these women talking. They were talking about how handsome you are. And if you were single. One of them had said they’d seen me with you on the sidelines. She made a comment about my weight and that there was no way I would be your type. And The other girl said some things too. I felt really insecure. I already didn’t believe that you would be into me but when I heard someone else say it, it solidified it for me. And then when you told me how you felt. It felt like a joke. I felt like I was in high school again and everyone was going to gather around and start laughing. And to be honest. My experiences since then haven’t been great. I haven’t been with good guys. I just I was afraid I was going to be hurt. Honestly sometimes I don’t even know how I do this job because I can’t even take my own advice.” I looked down again. It was a relief to let it all out but if I looked him in the eye I was going to start crying again. I was already weak enough in this moment.
Sy stepped back around the car to where I was standing. He gently put his hands on my hips and pulled against him. He brought one hand up brushing the hair out of my face and resting it on my cheek. “I wish you could understand how wrong they are. I know you don’t not right now. But I’m gonna help you see yourself the way I do Sugar,” He didn’t hesitate any longer. He pressed us further against the car and leaned down pressing his lips to mine. His lips were soft and his body was warm against mine. He kissed me slowly and soft his beard tickling against my jaw. I snaked my hands around his neck pulling him closer. And I felt him smile against my lips. He pulled away slowly eyes fluttering open still holding me against him. “Baby you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that. I don’t know what other people have said to you. Or what you’ve been through. But when I tell you you’re beautiful I mean it. And when say I wanna take you home with me, it aint no joke baby. Do you trust me?” He askes staring down at me holding my face in his hands.
“I trust you Logan, so much that is scares me.” I admitted.
“I’d never hurt you like that Darlin’ that’s a promise.” I pulled him down and kissed him again. Harder this time. He groaned against my lips and squeezed my hip pulling me closer. He slid his hand into my hair holding me there as he started to gently suck on my bottom lip. We pulled away to catch our breath and had big goofy grin on his face as he leaned his forehead against mine.  “I’d love to do this all night baby,” He chuckled. “But its late and its only gonna get colder out here, I need to get you home.” I blushed.
“Yeah, it’s almost midnight. We really should get going.”
He  opened the passenger door of the truck for me and made sure I got in okay before he shut the door and got in on the other side. He started the truck and we pulled out of the parking lot.
“Sy?” I spoke softy.
“Yeah baby?” He looked over just for a second to let me know he was listening.
“Did you mean it, when you said you wanted to take me home with you?” I asked. He literally snorted.
“What do you think?” He smirked taking one hand of the wheel and resting it on my thigh. I could feel my heart rate speed up and I was blushing. How the hell was it so easy for him to turn me on?
“I want to.” I said. He looked like he was about to choke.
“Yeah? You don’t have to Sugar, I didn’t mean… I mean I want you to. But I don’t want you to fee like I’m pressuring you or anything. Shit I ain’t even taken you out yet. Not really.” I grabbed his hand and squeezed it softly.
“Logan, I really want to.” I said. He just smiled.
“Alright, baby.”
He drove us back to his place parking the truck in his drive way. “Right this way Darlin,” He smirked leading me up the front steps and unlocking the door. I followed him inside and he quickly shut the door behind him backing me up against it. “You really have no idea what your doing to me do you baby?” He licked his lips looking me up an down hungrily. I’d never seen him like this. The look in his eye was almost, animalistic. And it was so. Fucking. Hot. “Here I was thinking you were an innocent little thing.” He pinned my against the door holding me there in his hands. He leaned down crushing his lips against mine. This was different than the kisses we’d shared earlier , slow and sensual, this was hungry, needy. “Practically begging me to bring you home. You know how long I’ve been thinking about this? Getting you home with me? Under me? Fuck.” he breathed
He pulled me away from the wall and pulled at the bottom of his hoodie I was still wearing. I lited my arms and let him pull it over my head along with my shirt leaving them in a pile on the floor. We walked a little farther into the house. He pulled his shirt off tossing it next to us as he pulled me into his lap on the couch. I leaned back to admire his toned chest running my fingers throught the soft curls there. He slid his hand into my hair groaning into my mouth as he pulled me in for another kiss. He bit my bottom lip slowly dragging it between his teeth. He started. Peppering kisses down my jaw before leaving wet kisses along my neck.
His hands were everywhere roaming over bra squeezing my breasts, running them down my sides and around grabbing my ass. I felt his hand move around my back plaing with the clasp of my bra. “Need this off baby.” He mumbled against my chest. He managed to undo it and I let it fall tossing it to the floor. “Mm fuck yes,” He moaned dipping his head down taking one of my nipples into his mouth and teasing the other with his thumb. I moaned and rolled my hips against his. I could feel his hard cock straining aginst his jeans. He groaned against me giving the other nipple attention.
“You’re so fucking gorgeous.” He said stood from the couch picking me up and wrapping my legs around his waist.
“Sy!” I Squealed. He carried me to his bedroom setting me on his bed. He crawled on top of me. His hands were already on the waist band of my leggings.
“Is this okay,” He paused. I nodded eagerly and he chuckled. “Good girl.” He pulled them down swiftly with my panties leaving me completely bare infront of him. “Fucking beautful” he said as he starting kissng down my stomach. He nipped at my thigh leaving wet kisses there.  He pushed my legs open a little further and pulled me to the end of the bed. I was completely exposed to him but I didn’t care. I trusted him completely. He met my gazed and ran his and up my thigh before brushing his fingers through my folds. I moaned as his fingers brushed across my clit “God damn baby, all this for me? Fuckin soaked. “ He smirked He pressed his thumb to my clit rubbing in rough circles.
“Fuck!” I moaned “Logan please!” I grabed his wrist the sensation already feeling overstimulating. It’s been so long.
“We’ll get there baby.” He teased. Finally he kissed down my inner thigh and brushed his tongue against my clit.
“Oh my god!” I whimpered ran my fingers over his hair as he sucked on my clit. He slid two finger inside me pumping slowly. I squirmed against him but he used his other hand to hold my hips down. God he was so strong.
“Keep still sugar. Don’t make me tell ya again,” He said before going back to work on my clit and curving his fingers in side me pumping them a little faster. I was seeing starts. I pushed his head down holding him there.
“Oh my god, don’t stop!” I moaned. I came hard around his fingers and he slid them out and licked them clean.
“Mm you taste so good baby. So fuckin’ sweet.” He stood up from the bed finally ridding himself of his jeans and boxers. His hard cock rested against his stomach. He was huge. I bit my lip and he chuckled.
“I’ll go easy on you baby,” he said as he started crawling on top of me again.
“Mm wait,” He stopped raising an eye brow. I pushed him back against the pillows and kisses his lips softly. I kissed down his chest and finally settled between his legs. I bit my lip and looked up at him innocently “Just wanna taste it,”  He smirked.
“Dirty little girl ain’t ya, mm” he pulled my hair back guiding me down. I licked the length of his cock. He groaned softly. I loved the sounds he made. So deep and almost feral. I finally took the tip in my mouth and slowly started to suck him off. I took him as far as I could letting him hit the back of my throat. He growled. “That’s it baby, good girl.” I kept bobbing my head on his cock and wrapped my and around the base where I couldn’t fit him in. I felt him tug on my hair and pull me up. “That feels amazing baby but I’m not gonna last if you keep that up.”
He kissed me again and laid me down pulling leg over his shoulder. He ran the head of his cock up and down my folds getting it nice and wet. “You ready baby girl?” I nodded. He slowly pushed in. He held him self up bracing him self on one arm. He pushed in slow inch by inch letting me adjust to him. When he bottomed out he stayed there for a minute. “You okay baby?”
“Logan, it’s sweet that you’re asking but please fuck me.”  He let out a low growl and pulled almost all the way snapping his hips back into me. I moaned feeling him deep inside me. He grabbed my hip pulling me closer and kept thrusting into me. He moaned as he reached between us finding my clit with his thumb. The rythem of his thrusts and hitting just the right spot had me seeing stars. I came again around him moaning his name and other obscenities falling from my lips. “That’s it good girl.” He pulled out and flipped me over onto my stomach. He pushed back inside of me this new angle hitting that spot over and over again but I was so sensitive.
“Come on baby, you got another one for me?” He growled against my ear.
“Mm I can’t sy, It’s too much,” He reached around rubbing my clit in cirlces with his thumb.
“One more baby, please for me?” He picked up his pace hitting that spot over and over. I Moaned pulling at the sheets beneath me.
“Fuck I’m cumming!” I moaned letting go around him
“That’s my good girl, cum on my cock.” His thrusts were becoming erratic and he stilled and groan cumming inside me. He kissed my shoulder and layed down beside me. He pulled out slowly and pulled me to lay on his chest. “Holy shit,” He breathed. He fingertips brushed up and down my back. He smiled down at me. “You’re incredible. I don’t deserve you.”
“Shut up Logan,” I blushed Hiding my face against his chest.
“I mean it, your too good for this world Darlin’,” He smiled and kissed my head. “I’m gonna marry you someday, I know I haven’t even really taken you on a date yet. But baby when you know, you know,”
“Yeah?” I smiled  “I think I know what you mean.” He pulled the blankets up over us and held me for a while.
“Good, now get some rest Darlin’” He said running his fingers through my hair. I smiled snuggling up against him.
“Goodnight Sy,” I smiled.
“Goodnight sugar.”
•••
Captain Nathan Syverson smoothly manoeuvred his big red pick-up truck through the busy streets of Willow Creek. It was just before dinner time, making kids rush home to their parents and teenagers were on their way to the mall to eat some greasy snacks with some friends. And other people like Sy, his preferred name, were on their way to a friends’ BBQ.
He had been back home for two weeks now. Although he was an army man in his blood and bones, being home in Willow Creek was everything to him. He especially loved being home around this time of year, the late summer. The days were still warm, but the nights turned colder with a blink of an eye. The trees were already losing a bit of their green colours and the holiday season was around the corner.
Because he was so busy looking around, he missed the light turn green until the truck behind him honked two times. Quickly, Sy pulled up and drove to the next intersection where he had to stop again. The truck behind him drove onto the lane left from him. Impatient. But when he looked to the side, he was caught by surprise. He figured a bald guy in his fifties would be next to him, but that was absolutely not the case.
The woman next to him was singing along to the music, while drawing with a pencil looking like item on her face. Is she doing her make-up? He could tell she was pretty even though he just saw her side profile. Shifting in his seat, he looked forward again, feeling a bit like a creep for staring at her like that. But seeing the light was still red, he couldn’t help himself but to look to the side again. She was now rummaging through a little purse, before the threw it on the passenger seat and switched radio channels.
Seconds later a wide smile spread across her face, and she began to sing to another song, making Sy smile. The sight of her being in her element, singing and laughing made him smile like he hadn’t since his return. Her cheeriness was so pure and sincere, something he wanted to experience himself again.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw the light turn green and quickly removed his foot from the brake to pump the gas. Only she was faster, quicker. Leaving a gap between her, and her black pick-up, and Sy. “Fuck,” he muttered under his breath and hit the gas a little more. He had no reason to stick with her, yet he couldn’t help himself. Sy closed the gap and drove behind her for a minute until he saw she was turning on the same highway.
“Well, if I wanna pass her I gotta be fast,” Sy said to himself. He had to take the next exit, and would a man be a man if he didn’t feel the need to overtake a woman on the highway?
So, Sy sped up and passed her. While he drove passed her, he looked to his right, hoping to get a look from her, but she was still too caught up with the little concert she was having. He merged back into her lane, and drove in front of her. Feeling a little victorious.
But he had cheered too soon. Not even a minute later he suddenly saw her stir her truck onto the left lane, and pass him while speeding up. She drove passed him so quickly, he couldn’t tell if he actually saw a grin on her face or if he imagined it. Nonetheless, she started a fire in him, and he sped up himself. Alright, if ya wanna play, let’s play. He thought as he drove passed her again. This time she looked straight at him, a smile toying on her lips, a sparkle in her eyes.
Shaking his head, Sy switched lanes and drove in front of her once more. He figured this would settle it, but she thought otherwise. He could already see her come closer in his rear-view mirror, and with one swift movement she steered the truck passed him again. This time with a big smile on her face. She is enjoying this uh. Shaking his head once more, he got ready to pass her again until he saw his exit come up. Much to his surprise, she lowered speed, and indicated with her turn signals she was about to take the same exit. “That’s a coincidence,” Sy said to no one but himself.
He figured she would soon take a different turn, and he would never see her again, but she kept driving the same way he was. When they drove onto the street of his friend, he knew she had to be going to the BBQ as well. Then why haven’t I seen her before?
Before Sy could think about that, he parked his car in front of the house and quickly hopped out. He was hoping she wasn’t as fast with parking, so he could talk to her. Looking at her truck, he saw her getting out. It was like a slow-motion scene from one of those movies. Car door opening, one foot on the ground, both feet on the ground, and finally her whole body standing outside. She turned around, and while she closed the door, he observed her. She was indeed pretty, gorgeous even, but not what he expected at all. He didn’t know what he expected, but he was not disappointed at all, no he was beyond thrilled.
She was taller than he imagined, with those long legs she was easily around his height. Curvier than he’d imagined, her thighs were bigger than his own, her ass big and round, she was soft yet looked strong and the thoughts that filled his mind weren’t the kind of thoughts you shared with your ma.
While he was shamelessly checking her out, she had come closer. “Were you planning on going to this party or were you just following me?” she asked with a playful tone and a smile on her lips.
“Sorry sunshine, just a coincidence,” Sy answered as they walked side to side to the backyard that was filled with people. She was wearing a perfume that he breathed in, he couldn’t place the smell, but it was delicious. “I have never seen you around here,” he asked as she stayed silent.
“I’m sort of new in town, so better get used to seeing my face around,” she smirked and waved to a girl who started walking towards her.
“Well, if you keep driving that fast, I can’t even see that pretty face of yours,” he teased. He saw her smile, and look away shyly before she looked at him with a daring look in her eyes.
“If you need me to teach you how to pull up, I don’t mind being your teacher.” And with a grin she left Sy speechless behind as she greeted her friend with a big hug. They walked away fast, whispering and giggling.
Sy could already tell she was a hand full, a feisty, fiery one. Not only by the way she drove, no, also by the way she moved, walked, smiled, laughed, and talked. And all of that in the utter minutes he had known about her existence.
> Part two
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this first chapter! And I am going to (try) write my ofc as tall, for multiple reasons to be honest. First of all because of chats I’ve had with @cavillsthighs 💕. Thank you for giving me inspiration and motivation to write this! Second of all, I sometimes feel like there aren’t many tall!reader/ofc fics around? And most ofc’s/readers are described as short and not that tall and don’t get me wrong, i love everything I read/reblog/comment!! But for me personally, I have never felt that self conscious about my height until this place lol and I ain’t even that tall (1.77m). So therefore point three: I’d like to add some tall!ofc/reader fics in the world to let my tall babes now we can also have cute and sexy and sweet moments, that you don’t have to be short(er) for that. Yes this might mostly just to tell that to myself lol. Okay wow this a/n is getting long and I doubt anyone reads this but ok I have already written it and I’m not gonna delete it whoops. Okay now I’m really done. Love you all. Kisses and hugs from me, and since I’m quite tall and thick and soft I give the best hugs 💕 sorry for this rambling. Ok to ignore this 💕
•••
In the following weeks Nathan had got to know Hazel better. He started to pay attention to her likes, and dislikes. Quickly he discovered a simple thing she liked: a cappuccino with a hint of cinnamon in the morning. So, ever since he knew that, he brought her one every morning. Especially after he figured out she wasn’t exactly a morning person.
It had become their little routine. She arrived at work, went through her email, and made some calls before she took a small break to go outside and sit on the porch swing when Nathan would arrive. With two coffees to go’s.
This morning no different. Hazel just walked outside as she saw Nathan stepping out of his car with two coffees. He closed the door of this truck, giving her an excellent view of his ass. Much to his sister Harper’s displeasure, it had become a daily topic to talk about for Hazel. But who could blame her when she got the chance to look at the world’s greatest ass multiple times a day?
“Mornin’ sunshine,” Nathan greeted her as he came to a stop in front of her. She had sat down on the porch swing, scooting a little more to the side to make room for him.
Hazel offered him a soft smile, and he sat down next to her with a chuckle. She never talked much in the morning, but for some reason she could stand him and would even share a few words with him.
The porch swing wasn’t very large, therefore they sat closely together. Thigh against thigh, shoulder against shoulder. With the temperatures dropping, Hazel welcomed the heat radiating of Nathan. He was like her giant furnace for these little moments.
“Perhaps we should make a larger swing, so we could sit like normal people on this swing,” Nathan chuckled as he tried to spread his legs a bit more.
“Nah, it has just enough space for us,” Hazel smiled. He glanced at her, the white shirt she wore with the Willow Creek inn logo was a little see through, making it a little hard to focus. He tried to sit back a little more comfortable, but there was just not enough space for his muscled thighs. Looking at her legs, a thought sprung up in his head and without thinking twice he grabbed her knees and swung her legs over his lap.
“Oh my god Sy, what are you doing?!” Hazel yelped. “I almost spilled my coffee!”
“Almost, so not quite,” he grinned. “Sorry sunshine, just making ourselves a bit more comfortable.” He took a sip of his coffee, watching her do the same. At first, she looked a bit uncomfortable, but within seconds that was gone. The next moment they spend in silence, drinking their coffee and watching the sun rise.
They had grown together over the last weeks. They joked around a lot, talked, worked, they even flirted a bit. But Nathan had noticed that whenever he made a more serious comment, about perhaps a date, she always found a way not to give him an answer. It made him confused, he didn’t understand why she would run away, but he was never one to shy away from a confrontation. If he wanted an answer, he would get one. Even if it wasn’t an answer he desired.
“Sunshine?”
“Hmm?”
“Wanna have dinner tonight?”
“What do you mean?” Hazel shifted, trying to pull her legs away from his lap, but the grip he had on her legs told her she wasn’t going anywhere. In the last weeks she had successfully avoided giving him an answer. He tried asking her out a few times, but she had convinced herself that it wasn’t what he wanted. Why would he want to go out with her? It didn’t make any sense.
His hand pressed a little harder on her thigh, and he sighed before he spoke again. “Why do ya always try to run whenever I try to ask ya out sunshine? If ya don’t wanna go out with me, just tell me and I’ll leave ya alone.”
Hazel’s mind stopped working for a moment. What was he doing? With a confused look her eyes met his, and she opened and closed her mouth a couple times before she actually started talking.
“You really want to go out with me? Are you sure?” she asked.
“Why wouldn’t I?” Nathan chuckled, and grabbed the empty coffee cup out of her hands and placed it next to his on the ground. He took hold of her hand and intertwined their fingers, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
Hazel contemplated to tell him, because quite frankly, she wasn’t quite sure how to deal with his attention. She wasn’t used to it. Yes, she liked it, a lot. But she got scared every time it got a little more serious.
“I just, I don’t know,” she started and fiddled with Nathan’s fingers that held hers. “I don’t understand.”
“What don’t ya understand?”
“Guys don’t ask me out. Yeah, they are friendly with me, but nothing more. So, I just thought you were joking, or that you would get tired of me soon enough.” A sigh left her mouth.
Understanding her now, he grabbed her chin with his free hand, making her look at him. “I’m sorry about that, but I don’t just ask a girl out for no reason. I’m not trying to just be your friend, if that’s all you want, that’s cool, but if it’s up to me we wouldn’t be.”
Hazel saw the sincerity in his eyes, but she insecurities somehow would their way back inside her mind.
“What’s on your mind sunshine?” he asked, seeing hesitation on her face.
“You don’t think I’m too tall, or too big, too much?”
Confused he stared at her. Too what? All he saw was a beautiful girl. Coincidental she was tall and had curved, but he didn’t see any downsides to that. “What the hell are ya talking about?”
“You know I don’t fit the standard for a so called ‘perfect girl’.”
“Lemme ask ya this, do ya like me?” Nathan asked, still holding her chin. His thumb softly grazing over her bottom lip.
“Yeah, I do,” she whispered.
“Then why don’t ya let me show ya what I think of ya?” he leans forward, whispering in her ear. His beard scratching her cheek, making Hazel gasp softly. “You’re not only stunning, but you’re funny, and caring, and sweet, and smart, and witty.” With each compliment, he carefully placed a kiss on her face.
He pulls away a little, staring into her eyes. Her eyes flicker to his lips, wrapping her hands around his neck while leaning in a little bit.
Suddenly the door of the inn opens, and Nathan’s sister Harper pops out. She gasped loudly, before yelling: “Sorry to interrupt! I’ll just tell ‘em you will call back later!” She grinned widely, and gave Hazel a quick wink before she went back inside.
Hazel and Nathan both sigh. Chuckling a little awkwardly, they create a bit more distant between each other. Hazel untangles herself from him, and stand up, holding out her hands for him to take.
He takes them, and she helps him get up. Standing in front of each other, Hazel checks the time on her watch and cursed under her breath. This break wasn’t so short anymore.
“So, ya won’t run away anymore when we flirt sunshine?” he asked.
“I’ll try,” Hazel smiled and gave a kiss to his bearded cheek. A soft smile toyed on her lips, and she quickly walked inside, deciding to hide in the office all day, not ready to face his sister or Ma; who would have definitely heard about what his sister saw a few moments ago.
Nathan closed the door behind them, pressing his back against it. He looked at Hazel, a soft glow on her face. He couldn’t quite believe this was happening, yet if it was up to him, it would’ve happened weeks ago.
“Let’s make sure no one interrupts us this time, it’s driving me crazy.” He locked the door, and her laugh reached his ears.
“I know, it’s getting pretty annoying right?” Hazel smiled and averted her gaze from him to look at the room. It was one of the simpler rooms they offered at the inn, yet it didn’t lack a thing. A large king size bed with comfortable pillows, a soft rug, a tiny chandelier and the en suite bedroom with a large corner tub and shower cabin. A little seating area completed it.
She turned around again, seeing Nathan was watching her with a smile he rarely showed. “Whatcha looking at?” she teased.
“A very pretty girl with unfortunately way too many clothes,” he grinned.
“Maybe you should help me out of them.” She stepped closer to him, placing her hands on his chest. A bit of chest hair peeking out above his t-shirt. Slowly her fingers trailed over the thin fabric that hid his furry pecs.
With one swift move Nathan turned them around, trapping her between him and the door, a situation he had been wanting to get into again. The last time they stood like this, they got interrupted way too soon. He had been uncomfortable all day until he could finally relieve himself later that night.
Not even able to look at each other eyes, just staring at their lips, they kissed again. Even though they kissed before, with each kiss the fire inside burned even harder. The need for each other growing within seconds.
Nathan’s hands slid down her body, from her neck to her waist to her ass. His touch firm, yet gentle, but definitely needy. His hands slid lower, to her thighs until he reached the back of her knees. Quickly he lifted her up, making Hazel cross her legs around his waist without breaking the kiss.
“Oh my god! Sy! Put me down!” Hazel yelled. Nathan continued kissing her, peppering kisses along side her jawline.
“Never,” he muttered. Hazel grabbed his face between her hands, squinted her eyes at him, before pressing a tiny kiss to the tip of his nose.
“As long as you don’t make this a regular thing. I know you’re strong, but you’re also clumsy babe,” she smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes.
“Oh, really?” Without a warning, Nathan turned around with her in his arms. He took two big steps towards the bed and crashed onto it, carefully trying not to entirely crush her.
“Sy!” Hazel laughed, slapping him across his chest. “At least take our shoes off if we’re getting on the bed.”
The air changed again, the laughter died down and made room for tension. Nathan climbed off her, not breaking eye contact, and sunk down on his knees in front of her. He lifted up one of her feet, removing her boot, and repeated the same action on the other side.
He stood up, kicking his shoes off before getting down on his knees again. “Just lay back baby,” he said as Hazel tried to get up. Nathan reached behind her, grabbing a pillow, and putting it underneath her head. He hovered over her, a smile on his lips watching her like this. To him, she always looked beautiful, but this look of need and excitement on her face made her even more beautiful.
He grabbed the fabric of her dress in his hands, sliding it up her voluptuous body. He let her get up a little, and she let him take her dress off. The next thing to go was her pair of thighs. He removed her outfit with such care, with a hungry look in his eyes; she didn’t even feel a single moment self-conscious. She could tell by his body language and eyes he thought she was pretty. He even took his time to tell her.
“Sunshine, you’re so goddamn sexy.” Their eyes locked, and Hazel bit her lower lip. “You wear pretty lingerie like this all day or am I just really lucky?” Hazel looked down at her matching black lace set. The day she had seen Nathan for the first time, was also the day she decided she needed more lingerie, sexy lingerie. And the absolutely did not regret it.
“You’ll see in time,” she smirked. Feeling the need to be closer to him, she got up and wrapped her arms around Nathan’s neck, who was still in front of her on his knees. Her lips crashing on his, and he let her take his breath away this time. Her hands wandered down, feeling his chest and soft, squishy belly, until they reached the hem of his shirt. She pulled it up, and he lifted his arms, letting her take it off.
Breaking apart, she looked at him; more specially, at his undressed upper body. “Fuck me,” she whispered while her hands drew lines on his chest.
“That’s what I’m planning on doing baby,” he growled, and pushed her back down. He grabbed the sides of her lace panties, and looked at her to give her approval. A small nod was all he needed, and he took them off.
Her legs rested on his shoulders when he spread her thick thighs, revealing her peach to him. A low growl escaped his lips when he saw the wetness dripping out of her. Nathan started pressing kissing to each of her thighs, slowly making his way up. The soft gasps from Hazel made him not wanting to wait anymore. Teasing would have to come another time, right now he needed her, and he needed to please her. He needed to hear her scream his name.
He dropped down lower between her thighs, tasting her sweetness. Hazel’s hand shot down to the back of his head, nails scraping and scratching. While he savoured her, nibbled on her little bud, her breathing became heavier and heavier. His name coming off her lips as soft whimpers.
“Fuck, don’t stop Sy,” she moaned. He made her feel things she never felt before, and the feeling of his beard scraping her thighs made her senses go insane. Just when she thought she couldn’t take it anymore, Nathan sucked hard on her clit and for a moment her body left the earth.
Breathing heavily, she felt Nathan kissing his way up her body, while she tried to gain control over her body again. Spasms were still shooting through her when he reached her face, peppering soft kisses to her cheeks.
“You with me sunshine?”
She opened her eyes again, her hand reached up to his cheek and nodded. He pressed his lips to her, making her taste herself on his tongue.
“I need you Sy,” she whispered, and he gave her one more desperate kiss before he stood up to take his jeans and boxers off. Hazel quickly took off her bra, not missing the look of excitement in Nathan’s eyes.
Before he threw his jeans to the other side of the room, he reached in the pocket for his wallet and grabbed a condom. He carefully stroked himself, before putting it on and joining Hazel on the bed. She had scooted up, and had watched Nathan. Her mouth had watered at the sight of him naked. She knew he was big, but damn he was big in literally every department.
Making himself comfortable between her thighs, he stroked his length a few times, before slowly entering her. Soft whimpers left Hazel’s lips as she adjusted to his size, to being stretched out like never before. Quickly the pain faded, and it made room for pure pleasure. “Fuck, you feel so good. So tight,” Nathan groaned, voice low and gravely.
He kisses her as his thrusts become harder, more eager. Hands all over each other, getting out all the tension that had been built up over the past weeks.
Feeling his high approaching, Nathan hits her deeper, reaching for the spot she needed him the most. When her moans became louder, being unable to hold back, he was done. “Baby, keep making those sounds and I wont last any longer.”
“Then fucking cum with me,” Hazel breathed out heavily. With a few more hard thrust, Nathan’s release was followed by hers quickly. Out of breath, he pulled out, and laid down beside her.
“You okay?” he asked, and gently placed his hand on her cheek to make her face him.
“More than okay, in fact: I think we need to remember to lock the doors more often.” A smile formed on his face, and for definitely not the last time that night, he pressed his lips to hers.
The day after the kiss was a little weird. Well, Harper made it weird for starters. Ma Syverson had told her what happened, and she had practically screamed the entire inn awake. So, whenever Nathan came by the next day to just say hi or ask a question, she felt obligated to make jokes the entire time. By the end of the day, Hazel was more than tired of hearing Harper’s jokes. But she wouldn’t stop.
“I can give you and Sy a room key so you two can get to it,” Harper said and wiggled her eyebrows.
“Are you seriously making jokes about me having sex with your brother? Your brother having sex doesn’t gross you out?” Hazel laughed.
“Yeah, I don’t care. I mostly care about you, and you definitely need some. You have been drooling over him ever since you laid eyes on him. Look, I don’t see it, he’ll always be the ugly to me, but you look at him like he’s the juiciest piece of pie on the planet.” Harper grinned, and left her spot at the front desk reception and made her way to the back office, where Hazel was.
“I will neither confirm or deny that, but he is not unpleasant for the eyes, so you can’t blame me for staring,” Hazel shook her head and turned her computer off. “Okay, I’m going to check if the dining room is cleaned and empty and then I’ll go home because I don’t feel like continuing this conversation.” She stuck her tongue out to Harper, who fake gasped.
“Just look for Sy and ask him to kiss or fuck some sense into you. You want him, and we all know it. He wants you too, but that is more than obvious. He cannot keep his eyes off your ass, and I can’t blame him,” Harper said, and gave Hazel a light tap on her ass.
“Yeah, I’m definitely out of here now. Bye!” Hazel yelled, and walked away. Looking over her shoulder once more, she saw Harper grinning at her. They both knew Harper was right.
The dining room was cleaned and empty. The room was big, with high ceilings and a massive chandelier. To Hazel, it was the prettiest room at the inn. Red carpet, dark oak bookshelves, multiple tables scattered around the room and a fireplace with big, leather couches in front of it. Plus, the space was so big, there was plenty of room between the tables so people could have private conversations or dance for a bit.
That was also the reason soft music was always being played in the room. Hazel closed her eyes and spun around the room. Before she came to the dining room, she changed from her work outfit back to her normal outfit; a black sweater dress, black thighs, and a pair of black biker boots. The sleeves being a tad too long, the dress tight around her body, accentuating her curves.
From the door Nathan watched her swaying to the music. He had just finished his work at the to-be-renovated-room. He was still a bit surprised by her move to kiss him yesterday, but he didn’t complain. If anything, he was grateful she did. It meant she trusted him, that she wouldn’t shy away from her feelings.
He leant against the doorpost, arms crossed and a soft smile on his lips. With every turn she made, her ass jiggled, and it drove him insane. He was about to walk up to her when she opened her eyes and squealed when she saw him.
“The fuck Sy! For how long have you been standing there?!”
He chuckled and pushed himself of the doorpost. “Long enough to ask you for this dance sunshine.”
“You dance?” she wondered, cocking an eyebrow. Nathan reached her, and took her hand in his. He admired the fact her hands were almost as big as his, just softer and daintier. Nails long enough to leave some deep scratch marks on his back.
“I have many talents you don’t know about yet,” he answered and gave her a failed wink. Hazel laughed, and placed her other hand on his cheek.
“Yeah, I’ll dance with you,” she said softly. He wasted no time, and pulled her flush with his other hand that wrapped around her waist. The soft music that played being perfect for a slow dance.
He intertwined their fingers, and her other hand rested at the back of his neck. Softly scratching her nails through the short hairs. They spun around the room together, foreheads resting against each other. The world around them disappearing.
Once the song was almost at its end, Nathan moved his hand to her cheek. Brushing with is thumb over her bottom lip. He nudged his nose against hers, and he saw her eyes close and mouth open. He kissed her, and it felt just like the first time. It was impossible to be closer to and another, yet they both tried.
Hazel’s hands around his neck, Nathan’s hands found their way to her softest, and his favourite, part; her bum. Rather quickly she felt something hard, it was impossible to ignore.
Gasping for air, she pulled away. Nathan attacking her neck, sucking, and nibbling. She had to remember to wear a scarf tomorrow, but that was a problem for later.
Her hands moved to his chest, and slid underneath his arms to his back. Her hands wandering up and down his back, as he continued marking her as his.
“Baby, you’re driving me crazy. You know that right?” His voice raspy and deep, and a shiver shot down her spine.
“Fuck, Sy-,” Hazel muttered, but was rudely interrupted when the door flung open.
A shocked member of the cleaning staff rushed in, and grabbed her forgotten bag from a table. “Sorry,” she stuttered out, and left as quickly as she came in.
“Goddamn,” Nathan said while both of them caught their breath.
“I should go, yeah maybe I should go home,” Hazel said, and tried to step away.
“You wanna go?” he asked. Her eyes were open wide, and he could see her brain working to get an answer out. He pressed a kiss to her cheek, and one to the other before he looked at her again.
“No.” Her answer came out as a whisper, but it was more than enough. She firmly pressed her lips to his, until an idea sprung up in her head. She stepped away, grabbing his hand, and pulled him with her.
The reception, thank god, abandoned. Harper usually took a break at this time to eat her own dinner. Hazel stepped behind the desk, quickly checking the computer and grabbed a room key.
Nathan heard footsteps approaching, so he pulled the key out of her hands and grabbed her hand this time while they rushed up the stairs. A chuckle escaped her lips as they reached the second floor. He couldn’t help it, and laughed with her. For a minute they stood there, laughing.
Once they cooled down, he extended his hand, and she took it. He squeezed her hand while walking to the room. Once they reached it, he held the key up, and looked at her. Wanting to make sure she was alright. “This doesn’t mean we have to-”
“I know,” she smiled, and grabbed the key out of his hands to open the door.
The days after their talk on the porch were busy. Guest came and go. Problems needed to be solved, guests needed to be taken care of, Hazel needed to make sure the inn kept being up and running together with Harper, and Nathan? He was busy renovating some outdated rooms.
The one who came up with that idea? Ma Syverson of course. She figured he should be at the inn some more, and she figured Hazel was more than capable of helping him here and there whenever she could.
That’s why Hazel was tearing down old wallpaper, sweating, and looking a little dishevelled. The reason? The wallpaper wasn’t exactly come off easy, not at all. Nathan stood on the other side of the room, doing the same. Struggling as well.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she looked him up and down. The long-sleeved sweatshirt he was wearing long gone, he was just wearing a tight black t-shirt and tight jeans. The question why he wore everything so tight almost slipped her mouth, but she quickly held it back, not wanting him to change it. It made her workdays far more interesting.
Nathan did the same, eyeing her up and down, but he did it at the moments she had just looked away. Hazel wore jeans that accentuated her voluptuous behind. He thought back about their talk on the porch, he had a hard time not to go to fast. But he knew she needed a little time, that just didn’t keep him from not teasing her.
“Ya need me to come help over there sunshine?”
Hazel scoffed, faking annoyance and turned around. Nathan was watching her, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. She gulped, his arms were huge, but today they seemed even bigger. Awaiting her reply he cocked his eyebrow.
Nathan watched her froze in the moment. The energy in the room was switching. Suddenly a tension shifted around them. He could hear her heavy breathing; she had never been speechless around him. Not even after their talk. Not until now.
Her lips slightly agape, her tongue darted out, unvoluntary licking them. Hazel knew she couldn’t deny her attraction for him much longer. She knew he was able to resist himself, but she wasn’t so sure she could resist him anymore. Not while he looked like this, not while he treated her like that, not while he made her laugh and feel good all the time.
Slowly her feet took a small step. And another. Holding his breath, Nathan had a hard time not to rush forward. To take her in his arms and blow her mind away. But seeing her take the initiative, shooting her shot, was so incredibly hot to him.
Getting a little self-conscious, Hazel hesitated to take another step. What was she even doing? But with a simple word Nathan took away all the doubts.
“C’mere.”
Taking two big steps, and she was right in front of him. Her hands hovered over his chest, while directly looking in his eyes. The urge to be closer to him was too big, so she closed the small gap between them and snuck her hands around his neck.
Nathan’s hands wrapped around her waist, resting above the curve of her ass. He could feel her heartbeat going fast against his chest. Not sure for how much longer he could let her have the reigns, he pressed her a little closer to him. The softness of her body against his hard one being a welcoming contrast.
Hazel realized she was so close to him, that their noses were almost touching. Staring into his blue eyes, she nudged her nose against his and couldn’t help but let out a small, nervous chuckle. He was patient, but she could feel the storm going on inside him.
That’s when they both closed the space between their lips. Softly at first, a few long pecks, him nibbling on her lower lip.
But then his hand wrapped around the side of her neck, fingers grazing her jaw. Her mouth opened and without wasting a second, he devoured her.
Moaning into her mouth, his other hand slid lower and squeezed the soft flesh. Hazels hands were touching him all over as well; his chest, back, neck, even his ass.
Needing a little air, their lips disconnected, foreheads leaning against each other. He watched her, her face flustered and eyelids barely open. Seeing her like this made him feral; if she already looked like this after making out, how would she look like when he gave her his all? He thought he wouldn’t survive that, until she spoke and proved to him she had more ways to destroy him.
“Sy,” Hazel whined.
“Yeah baby?”
“More.” The word could barely be heard, but he did. Capturing her lips once more was all he could do.
He moved them around, so Hazel was pressed against the wall. His thick thigh immediately between hers, offering her some relief which she was grateful for.
She rolled her hips against his thigh, and the grunt that Nathan made was inhuman. Yet it was a sound she wouldn’t mind hearing more often.
His lips moved to her neck, sucking on the skin behind her earlobe. With trembling hands, she caressed his neck. “Fuck, Sy.”
He groaned, and his hand wandered lower, over her ass to her thigh until he reached her knee. He was about to lift it up, until the door swung open.
Ma Syverson barged in.
“Oh, look at that! You two are almost done tearing down all this wallpaper! Isn’t this a beautiful room Jack?” Ma Syverson began speaking to another employee, ignoring the fact her son and Hazel were panting and tangled in each other’s arms.
Quickly letting go of each other, Hazel fake coughed and straightened her clothes. Nathan stepping away, cursing under his breath. He should remembered to lock the room next time.
“Alright, let’s see what we got here,” Hazel said as they reached the employees dressing room. She opened her locker, and stared pulling out multiple items of clothing.
“I doubt you got anything in there for me sunshine. Plus, I’ll dry up in a minute,” Nathan spoke. His eyes roamed over her frame, the wet white shirt sticking to her body defining her curves.
“Sure,” Hazel mocked as she pointed at the puddle forming at his feet. She gave him a smug smile, and threw a few items on the little bench in the middle of the dressing room. She stuffed the other items back, and closed the locker.
“Why do you have so many clothes here anyway?” Nathan asked.
“You never know what happens, and it’s not like I can borrow something from someone else often. So, I’d like to be prepared. And having a pair of leggings around can always come in handy,” Hazel said and held up a black legging. “Hmm, this’ll fit you I think.”
Hazel pretended to hand Nathan the leggings, but bursted out in laughter when she saw the horrified look on his face.
“Sunshine, if you wanna know how-”
“Alright, alright! Let me stop you there before you say things I don’t wanna hear!” she laughed. “I’ll take the leggings; you can take these.” Hazel handed Nathan a pair of sweatpants.
Nathan took the sweatpants, and held them up to see if they were big enough. At first, he was a bit surprised. He didn’t expect for it to be big enough for him, but it was. He was a large man, very large and the women around him weren’t usually close to his size. But Hazel was different. She was pretty much his height; he didn’t have to break his neck to talk to her.
Suddenly he realized she was looking at him with a cocked eyebrow. Not knowing what she meant, he cocked his eyebrow as well. “Something wrong sunshine?”
“How about you turn around so I can change?”
“I don’t mind watching ya,” Nathan smirked. “Or seeing ya in that wet shirt all day.” Hazel threw her head back and laughed. She turned around to grab something out of the locker.
“Now!” she said and threw a pair of socks at him. Grinning, Nathan turned around and saw out of the corner of his eye she did as well.
Hazel peeked at him, he took his wet shirt off, revealing his broad back. Nearly fainting at the sight, she quickly turned fully back around and started changing herself. Thoughts about digging her nails into that back found their way into her mind and suddenly all she wanted was to close the distance between them. Move closer to him. Touch him.
“You done?” Hazel heard behind her.
“Uh almost!” Quickly she swapped her outfit and told Nathan he could turn around again. She looked at him and noticed the clothes she gave him were perfect on him.
Awkwardly they stood in front of each other. The air around them suddenly a little heavier than before. Hazel looked into his blue gaze and found herself stepping forward, but she didn’t get far. The door swung open, and Ma Syverson busted through.
“Oh, there you are! I heard about the water incident! Are you two okay?”
Hazel laughed and shook her head. “If your son would just listen to me, we wouldn’t been here, but other than that we are okay.”
“Hey! Next time I’ll let ya do it alright?” Nathan grinned.
“What do I have to do with you,” Ma Syverson said and pretended to twist Nathan’s ear. “Alright, you two deserve something to eat. Go to the kitchen and ask the chef to make you something.”
With that she left the locker room as quickly as she entered. Sharing a look, they started chuckling. Hazel was the first to leave the room, giving Nathan a perfect opportunity to check out her ass, that softly jiggled as she walked away.
Mesmerized he stared following her, not looking away from her ass in those black leggings. He suddenly realized why legging were the best thing ever, and he thought she should wear them all day.
Hazel turned around as she walked into the kitchen, catching Nathan looking at her behind. “Looking at something?” she said and cocked her eyebrow.
“Could lie, but definitely looking at something sunshine,” he grinned and shamelessly looked lower again.
“You are such a gentleman.” Hazel winked, and walked away to look for the chef. A few seconds later she returned. “He said we could make something ourselves. Lunch is just over, and they are having a break.”
“Hmm. What do ya want? Gonna show me your cooking skills?” Nathan walked towards the storage room, and playfully looked at her over his shoulder.
“Since I don’t have any cooking skills, I’ll let you show off this time.” Hazel hopped on the countertop, and watched as Nathan emerged from the storage room with bread, butter, and cheese.
He tutted, but grabbed everything else he needed and got to work.
“So, I have never seen ya in this town. Where ya from?” Nathan asked as he assembled the sandwiches.
“Just the next town down the creek. Never had any business here. And to answer your next question; one day I went here to have lunch with my mom, got into a conversation with your mom, she found out I was looking for a new job and here we are,” she answered with a smile. Hazel reached over the counter, and grabbed a slice of cheese away, quickly shoving it in her mouth.
“Hey!” Nathan proclaimed. “No stealin’ from the chef you naughty woman.” He glanced over at her, seeing the mischievous look in her eyes. He shook his head as he continued making the grilled cheese sandwiches.
“I thought I was ‘sunshine’ and now I’m a naughty woman? Get your pet names straight Syverson,” Hazel smirked and jumped off the countertop to grab two plates and ketchup.
Nathan looked at her with a stern look in his eyes. This woman confused him; she was so witty and always had something sassy to respond. But she did it in a way he wanted more. He liked, no loved, the bickering, and she was definitely one to give him that. Plus, ever since he saw her, he couldn’t get her out of her head.
They ate the sandwiches without a moment of silence. They were almost done eating when Nathan spoke up after he had been toying with an idea.
“So, tell me sunshine, what are you doing tonight?”
Hazel opened her mouth, completely caught of guard. She had not expected this question at all, not now. Yes, her mouth got dry by the sight of him and yes, he made her laugh and yes, she wouldn’t mind getting to know him. But what did this mean? Did he want to hang out with her? Or was he just interested in her plans?
When she was about to answer the kitchen doors flew open and the staff loudly walked in.
“Probably working or something, I gotta go!” Quickly she saw a way out without having to have an awkward conversation. She shot out of the door, and hid herself in the office for the rest of the day.
Nathan watched her storm off. Rubbing his hand over his beard he realized he had been too forward. He needed to change tactics, and quick.
After slipping back into their underwear, Hazel cuddled up next to Nathan, feeling his big, strong arms wrapped around her. The blanket draped over them, being useless because they were both still hot from the events seconds prior.
A soft chuckle escaped Hazel’s lips. Nathan pulled her a little closer, so her head was resting on his furry chest. “What’s so funny sunshine?” he asked.
“I just can’t believe this happened; I could’ve never imagined that. Not even in my wildest dreams,” Hazel answered. She lifted her face up a little, so she could look at him.
“Your wildest dreams?” A smug grin appeared on his face, as his hand wandered lower. A quick smack, and squeeze followed, before his hand stayed glued to her voluptuous behind.
They fell silent for a moment, just enjoying being in each other presence. Nathan’s hand moved up and down her spine, softly caressing her upper body. Hazel mindlessly drew lines on his chest. It was comfortable, familiar, like it was supposed to be.
“You think we could stay here?” she asked after a few minutes, almost lulled to sleep.
“Do ya want to?”
“Yeah.”
“Then we stay. It’s partly my inn, so we can do whatever we want sunshine.” He brought her lips to his, and gave her a firm kiss.
“Sy? Can I ask you something?” Hazel asked while throwing her leg over his, to be even closer to him, and to look at him without breaking her neck.
“Anything,” he nodded.
“What were you like as a child?” She looked up at him, a smile on her lips. Nathan laughed, not expecting a question like this.
“I was expecting a different question sunshine, a question that suggests we continue what just happened,” he smirked.
“Later, first I need an answer to this question because it has been bugging me for days. Your mom keeps telling me you were sweet as a kid but I’m not buying it. I feel like she is tricking me,” Hazel laughed. “She has shown me pictures of you, and that mischievous grin you had since you were little told me you were up to no good.”
“I was really sweet!” Nathan said, faking being insulted. He grabbed her waist, and hoisted her on his lap. Her thick thighs next to his. She slightly towered over him, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“You are, but don’t tell me you didn’t pull any pranks on your parents, or sister.” Hazel pressed a few kisses on his lips, and Nathan’s hands roamed her lower back and behind.
“You got me, I did pull pranks on my Ma and Dad. I’d hid behind doors to scare them, or I’d hide my father’s glasses so he couldn’t see. Man, I made him late for his work so many times,” Nathan snickered.
“That’s so mean!” Hazel gasped and slapped him across his chest.
“But other than that, I was a cute kid,” he concluded.
“Yeah, right.” Hazel laughed, the grin on his face told her he had probably been up to many shenanigans. “You didn’t pull sweet girls’ ponytails in middle school?”
Nathan threw his head back, and laughed loudly. “If ya want me to pull your hair, all you gotta do is ask.” He smirked, and his hands massaged their way from her thighs to her ass.
“I’d never ask that,” Hazel said, a mischievous look in her eyes.
“Sunshine, you might look innocent, but we both know you’re not.” The air grew thick and heavy, and their lips connected in the blink of an eye. The night was young, and definitely not over.
After a round or two of physical activities, they actually had a good night of sleep. Hazel wrapped in his arms, safe and secure.
She was wakening up, soft rays of sunshine shone through the windows. Nathan was still sleeping, and she stirred a little in his arms, trying to give her body the required morning stretch.
Nathan stirred, his arms tightening around her. “Morning sunshine.” His raspy voice sending shivers down her spine.
She muttered a ‘good morning’, and placed her hands on his cheeks. Slowly he opened his eyes, seeing her move closer to him before she planted a kiss on his lips.
He was about to deepen the kiss when they were interrupted by a firm knock on the door. “Room service!” The familiar voice of Harper sounded on the other side of the door.
“Oh, come on,” Nathan groaned.
Hazel quickly got out of the bed to get dressed, while Nathan covered himself with the blanket. Hazel was about to open the door, but she looked over her shoulder at him one more time to make sure he was decent. “Really Sy?” she cocked her eyebrow, and pointed at the quite obvious bulge. He responded with a shit eating grin, but he shifted a little and rearranged the blanket to make sure it was hidden.
“Morning,” Hazel greeted Harper after she unlocked and opened the door.
“Well, well, well,” she began. “Turns out I was right.”
“Right about what? And where is the room service?” Hazel asked after noticing her arms were empty.
The same shit eating grin Nathan possessed, formed on Harpers’ face. “Few noise complaints, but I figured it had to be you two.”
Hazel heard Nathan groan. She could tell he was about to do something about his sister. “Get outta here!” he spoke.
“Oh, don’t worry about me! Just here to pick Hazel up, because she and I are gonna have breakfast,” Harper answered, and grabbed Hazel’s arm, pulling her into the hallway. Harper quickly grabbed Hazel’s shoes, stuck her tongue out at her brother and slammed the door shut after she left the room.
After Hazel put her shoes on, Harper hooked her arm through hers, and took her to the staircase. “So, we are gonna have breakfast and you tell me all about the activities that kept the entire inn up last night, while I try not to vomit because it is my brother we are talking about.”
