What do cardborad books sound like? / Quel est le son des livres cartionniers ?

Paper Piece, a performance by Benjamin Patterson Arrangements by Stuart Jackson Performed at The Ausgang Plaza, Montreal QC March 22nd, 2023 After having first performed a version of Benjamin Patterson’s “Paper Piece” by invitation of Stuart Jackson and Amanda Gutiérrez at SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art in Montreal, on April 17th, 2021, Kodama Cartonera members participated in another rendition of this Fluxus performance with special arrangements by Jackson, as a part of the repertoire for his solo show "Aural Readymades," including pieces by Patterson, Carola Bauckholt, Brian Ferneyhough, Iannis Xenakis, and Rebecca Saunders. Some of the questions we wanted to answer this time through making and performing was regarding the cardboard device’s sonority. How many sounds can a cardboard book produce? What kind of sounds?
