Sometimes, it feels like I need a super heart to weather the immense love that swells within it when I take in the music and bands I love. A weak heart would burst under the weight of that affection, like it wants to do right now, as we take in a new EP from Superheart. You might recall that this fledgling project created by musician Luke Batt first enveloped us with his pastel gliding synthpop when debut single Count On Me came out last year. He’s back this week with his first EP, a collection of five airy indie pop tracks including that first single. Opening Credits dawns with ambient flair via its title track, a sublime drenching of Superheart’s signature sound, consisting of layered vocals, dreamy synths, and a weightless cihllwave soundscape. Opening Credits grooves in a halcyon soothing manner, transporting us into an idyllic world of serenity and bliss, one in which indie pop and empyrean Tycho-like indietronica seamlessly intertwine.
