✵ ARTHUR DAYNE: BANU HAQIM ✵
✵ Before his transformation into a Kindred, Arthur, a legendary knight from House Dayne known as the Sword of the Morning. He was brought into the Banu Haqim clan traditionally seen by the rest of the Westerosi as dangerous assassins and diablerists,but in truth they are guardians, warriors, and scholars who seek to distance themselves from the violence and war between the other clans;
✵ An attractive, positive, quirky and upbeat being. He always tries to see the good in people, but doesn't let himself be blinded by that. He lives by a code of honour and morality that has been with him since he was a young man;
✵ Having learned to take care of his sister over the years and being naturally responsible, Arthur is described as unpredictable, overprotective and stubborn, but also very kind, intelligent, selfless, empathetic, compassionate, and friendly;
✵ Arthur’s bane is the curse of most Banu Haqim, the taste of being a judge is very intoxicating when one of the Judges tastes the Blood of another Cainite, one finds it very hard to stop;
✵ Also as most Banu Haqim, Arthur is compelled to judge people around him, as Kindred he is is compelled to punish anyone seen to transgress against his personal creed, taking their blood as just vengeance for the crime, which can be a double edge sword, because the people that wrong him are punished swiftly but when he does, or people he loves do something that his code says its wrong it can become a problem;
✵ Stern in adjudicators, Arthur is fiercely devoted to upholding his moral code, and embrace mortals capable of assessing and handling threats, enforcing laws and traditions, and punishing transgressors;
✵ Arthur is a man physically in his early 30s with short night black hair, darker violet eyes, he has a lanky, yet muscular stature his height being 5'11"(1,80m), he could be described as handsome man with dornish features, Arthur has two stiles of clothing, his traditional Banu Haqim garments of which he uses when he is doling out his punishment, clothes with vail and face covering, but also wearing more relax clothes when not in service of his creed, like jeans, t-shirt and coats, of varying colours but nothing too crazy;
✵ Coming from the warrior caste of his clan, he has extensive knowledge of how to work with different weapons, and also having being a very deadly swordsman in his human life, yet as a Kindred Arthur, works with swords and guns, but usually he prefers knifes;
✵ Arthur has more friends than most Kindreds have, but the person who is closest to who is not from his kin, was Rhaegar, he came to be friends with the Hecata clansman after they meet in the middle of one of the wars some years prior, he was pulled towards Rhaegar because of the valyrians code of honour, and shy demeanour;
✵ Arthur is called by many names: Arthur Dayne ( most people ), Sword of the Morning ( enemies ), Saracens ( enemies ), Desertman ( enemies ), Art ( friends );

What kind of Internet Vibes do the different Vampire Clans have?
Assamites: The most impenetrable discourse you've ever seen in your life. The kind of callouts where you need 350 years of context and several PhDs to figure out what the person's actually being accused of. Despite the fact that maybe 10 non-vampires on earth know what any given post means, it still gets 80,000 notes worth of argument.
Brujah: An otherwise blank page that simply says "if you venmo $20 to this account I will eat your landlord no questions asked"
Followers Of Set: As a group of soulless immortal monsters dedicated to spreading wickedness in service of an ancient god of evil, the Followers Of Set's profiles sometimes make the top ten most fucked up things you've seen online today.
Gangrel: Extremely distressing furry art pages.
Giovanni: They reanimate dead memes and send them after you. More then one prince has been destroyed after having a LolCat captioned "I can has your soul?" myspaced to them.
Lasombra: The Lasombra don't show up on camera so instead of putting out content they just break into your house while you sleep.
Malkavian: Listen. Listen. You look me in the eyes and tell me you aren't following at least one blog obviously run by Malkavians right now.
Nosferatu: Monsterfuckers but the other way round.
Ravnos: Sadly if I continue White Wolf will delete my blog for bringing up that time they wrote the Ravnos.
Toreador: Toreadors have literally never experienced anything they have loved more then Instagram. The entire clan has gone feral, several elders have been killed over follower counts and the Toreador Antediluvian reentered torpor because it couldn't stop Instagram scrolling. It's a fucking bloodbath.
Tremere: You know those "occult safety" tumblrs that say things "don't use Ouija boards on Halloween"? The opposite of those. "Hey kids! Break a cursed doll over your head while yelling the true name of Satan! It'll be cool and fun!"
Tzimisce: Yet more unrealistic beauty standards for women.
Ventrue: Those weird focused group "cool tweets" designed to appeal to the youth, except the focus group is 1000 years old. Ever had a tweet show up in your feed "You know what's leet and unsus? The divine right of kings"? You're welcome!

One thing I love about Vampire the Masquerade Revised Edition Corebook is the "Stereotype" section aka clan review™ by your clan of choice. It's really 1. helpful to get the gist of the beef relationships and perceptions of each clan on the other, and 2. enjoyable to read because the writing is full of personality. Like, chock full of it. It's like your sire sit down with you and gossip about the other guys. The sassiness, oof.
Some of my favourite so far:
Nosferatu on Ventrue, Caitiff and the Camarilla. I could hear Bertram Tung's voice saying these. ~lickboy~
Tumblr media
Malkavian on Assamite (now clan Banu Haqim as of V5), Lasombra & Ventrue. Honestly, the whole Malkavian review section tbh.

I'm curious abut Sascha Vykos. Do you know which novels or splat books would be good to read to learn more about them?
*cracks knuckles*
Number 1 book you need to understand Sascha's background is the Dark Ages Tzimisce clan novel by Myranda Kalis, which has them as the main character (along with their lover, Ilias cel Frumos) and explains why they're... like that. Just a goddamn amazing character study, also completely heartbreaking and singlehandedly made me change my view of them from "haha wtf what an edgelord" to "they're my baby and I'm gonna fight a methuselah for them". Set between 1232 and 1234, if I've managed to maths right.
Also by Myranda and set around a similar time (shortly after the fall of Constantinople) is the Road of Sin book (set around 1205). Sascha (then called Myca) narrates the introduction and first chapter. It does specifically focus on their history with the eponymous Road, but has a lot of interesting character details, along with their relationship with Ilias.
For modern Sascha, there are two. First is the original Clan Novel Saga (set 1999), although in this case, I'm not recommending just the Tzimisce novel, but rather the compiled editions. There's a bunch of Sascha content in the Assamite book as well, since they're quite involved with one of the characters in it, and it also includes extra, exclusive content, including my two favourite chapters - a story by Lucien Soulban (Sascha's creator), and an epilogue by Janet Trautvetter, mostly about Jan Pieterzoon but with Sascha being fairly prominent in it.
Fair warning, CNS was written in 1999 and has. Mm. Edgelordy moments. We do not talk about The Foetus Thing :|
The other, probably most important one is Beckett's Jyhad Diary, which I would recommend for literally anyone interested in VtM in general. Sascha has minor appearances and mentions in a bunch of chapters, but is extremely prominent in the chapter Dreams & Nightmares (also by Myranda Kalis/Sarro). She also wrote the chapter Azhi Dahaka, another must-read relating to Sascha.
The timing for BJD is... less clear, because at least a few of the people involved have said it's set in 2005, but also there's one chapter where an event that explicitly took place around 1999 or 2000 is said to have taken place "sixteen years ago", so. Let's just call that early 21st century.
Most of the rest of the books are chronicles, plus one city book - their origin book, Constantinople by Night (1197, IIRC?) by Lucien Soulban, Philippe Boulle, and Joshua Mosqueira-Asheim. Others, in chronological order by setting, include Bitter Crusade (two chapters, Fiendish Winter and Dying Embers, the latter covering the Fall of Constantinople in 1204), Under the Black Cross (1225), and a whole bunch of the Transylvania Chronicles (Myca/Sascha appears in book 1 in Dark Tides Cresting (1314), in book 2 in Haceldema (covers the Convention of Thorns, 1493), in book 3 in An Angel's Plea (1680, also has the most hilariously thirsty description of Sascha I've ever seen in my life), and in book 4 in The Accounting (1998).)
Seriously. Here's their Transylvania Chronicles 3 character sheet:
Tumblr media
They appear in two of the Giovanni Chronicles books, three (1882) and four (same, in a flashback that also has my baby Anatole), in the Nightshade scenario of the Gehenna book (1999), although that's since been retconned out of existence, along with chunks of the Clan Novel Saga, mostly to do with the approaching Gehenna stuff, and in particular Anatole's fate. It's still worth reading just for some fascinating ways the world could end. Finally, they appear in the House of Lies chapter of Nights of Prophecy (1999?).
Aside from those, they also have little appearances and mentions in other books, including letters and notes throughout chapter 7 of the Revised corebook, a rather amusing little reference in chapter 4 of the Victorian Age corebook, a detailed profile and character sheet in Children of the Night although that book pisses me off because it put Beckett, Anatole, and Lucita on the front cover but didn't give us sheets for them!, and the opening letter of the V5 Sabbat book, which you can read here (and then ignore the rest of the book and get the Revised-era Guide to the Sabbat instead).
So yes! They show up a lot, and all through the game's history. The three most important ones to read, I think, are the Dark Ages Tzimisce novel, the combined Clan Novel Saga, and Beckett's Jyhad Diary, then the rest just depending on interest in the era or broader story, since Sascha is less involved in those.
Have fun! They're an absolute hot mess of a character and I adore them!

Verily, the Lasombra stand as chieftains and seers, monarchs and sages, warriors and holy men. They weigh with care who merits the Embrace, yet show no mercy to those of their ilk who prove unworthy. Indeed, the sole menace to the dominion of clan Lasombra may well be clan Lasombra itself. Montano, eldest childe of Lasombra, now governs from the distant Castle of Shadows in Sicily, his rule extending as a shadow over his Sire's troubled repose, haunted by visions of darkness and the Abyss.
Tumblr media
Deep-rooted in religious fervor, perchance due to their profound affinity with shadows, many among the Clan tread the Path of Heaven. This fervent piety kindles strife within the Clan, turning their gaze inward. In Iberia, the Shadow Reconquista rages—a clash between Christian and Muslim Cainites, dividing the Clan. Its echoes reverberate far beyond Iberia, ensnaring distant allies. Christian Lasombra within the Church rally resources for Christian forces, whilst Muslim brethren seek alliances, especially with the Assamites. They implore their Jewish kin to join their cause, for fear of dire reprisal should Christians seize power in Iberia.
Yet, the schism without mirrors the schism within. The Cainite Heresy festers within the Church, a heretical cult dominated by Lasombra priests and bishops. These apostates claim Cainites, marked by God, akin to angelic beings, with the Curse of Caine sanctifying them. Naturally, even non-Christian Lasombra decry this doctrine as blasphemy, striving to expunge such heresy wherever it takes root.
Moniker: Magisters Visage: The Clan of Shadows boasts a diverse assembly, with members hailing from Spanish, Italian, Jewish, North African, or Arabian lineages. Most Lasombra garb themselves in opulent attire, bedecked in silks from the Orient, sumptuous French brocades, or the resplendent fabrics of Arabia. Even those within the Church, though it eschews worldly riches, often don regal vestments befitting their high station.
Refuge and Quarry: Some affluent Lasombra opt to dwell amidst their familial estates, masking their true nature to retain control over their holdings. Here, they find ample sustenance amidst kin, servants, and retainers. Others, averse to the complications of concealment amongst throngs of mortals, establish solitary abodes of opulence, sacrificing convenience for secrecy and security. Some adherents of the Cainite Heresy feed upon their congregants, veiling their actions as sacred rites. Nonetheless, such practices demand utmost discretion, lest they incur the wrath of more orthodox Christian Lasombra.
The Embrace: Lasombra often select their progeny from among the affluent, powerful, or politically astute. Yet, Magisters may equally embrace those of humble origins, whose ambition and intellect shine bright. Birth alone cannot gauge one's mettle or capacity for leadership.
Clan Disciplines: Dominate, Obtenebration, Potence Weaknesses: Lasombra cast no reflection in reflective surfaces, rendering it arduous to conceal their supernatural essence from mortals. Moreover, they recoil from bright light, suffering additional harm from sunlight.
Organization: Within the Clan exists the Amici Noctis, the Friends of Night—an exclusive fraternity admitting only those who have proven their worth to the Clan. Presiding over the Courts of Blood, the Amici Noctis grants leave for Amaranth, serving as the final arbiter of its application. Unsanctioned Amaranth invites swift retribution, as decreed by the Amici Noctis. Predominant in central Europe, Montano staunchly opposes the Friends of Night, forbidding their presence in Sicily and the Castle of Shadows. In Iberia, the Shadow Reconquista impedes the Amici Noctis's authority, rendering it powerless to quell the discord.
Tumblr media
Stereotypes: High Clans: A meaningless distinction, espoused by the equally pointless. Our ascendancy stems from merit, not lineage. Their classification as High or Low speaks volumes of their discernment. Low Clans: Let other High Clans spurn them. Only a fool rejects a valuable asset or indispensable ally. Assamites: More akin are we to the Children of Haqim than to most others. Let prejudice blind others. They are honorable and worthy allies. Ventrue: The Scions misconstrue power and position, to their detriment. Let them pursue lofty ambitions; it renders them pliable. Followers of Set: Let them strive to revive worship of their defunct deity. Time marches on, and those who resist progress are trampled beneath its stride. Tzimisce: Godless pagans, one and all. They spurned the chance to forsake their heathen ways. While we acknowledge their might, we cannot place our trust in them.

Skylar: Toreador
Grandpa: Tzimisce (Old Clan)

All these characters are from an RPG campaign called; Gehenna's Gates, set in the world of Vampire The Masquerade.
The London Coterie:
In the beating heart of London, an unprecedented coterie emerges, an entanglement of shattered souls, representative of various clans of vampires, lupines and even humans. This extraordinary gathering, which under ordinary conditions would have been filled with rivers of blood and vengeance, is governed by an extraordinary alliance of founding members. This council, which holds power over London, includes Danya Vetranov, the cunning ravnos; Luc Gossens, the imposing Brujah; Elizabeth DeLacy, noble of the Ventrue clan, and Nathan Black, the tormented soul of the Baali.
While Rudolf and Jonah contribute their unique skills to the coterie and its governance, Arthur, the ex-vampire hunter, keeps to the sidelines, leading the group like an understated father figure.
The real magic of the coterie, however, is reflected in the diverse array of individuals who have joined them. People like Philippe, a former circus member now Luc's partner, and their adopted children like Simone Leveasque, a former Malkavian turned werewolf; Zoe, a follower of the Gangrel clan; Bill, an enigmatic Assamite; and even Dandelion, a demon deeply bonded to Luc. Each member brings with them a unique element that contributes to weaving the surprising mosaic of this coterie.
But the real surprise lies in their ability to welcome former enemies and marginalized individuals. Van Helsing, Rany the Witch, Devon Eskarra and Anselm Godwyn, each bearing the scars of ancient battles, have become symbols of renewal and change within the group.

My Banu Haqim/Assamites! "Xandy" and "Kolya." They share a sire, but had known each other beforehand when she was an American CIA Operative working to destabilize the Soviet Union (ghouled after she crossed the pond) and he was a secretly unwilling KGB Agent born in former Yugoslavia, now Serbia (ghouled after Xandy's trial period was complete.) Xandy is the dutiful shining star - a master assassin with plenty of clean kills beneath her belt, while Kolya is the capitalistic disappointment who sells to the Camarilla out of a van. Kolya also despises the Tremere, though that's not really new for many people of his clan.

Vampire Clan: Banu Haqim
Tumblr media
The Clan of the Hunt, Assamites, Assassins, Mediators, Lawmen, Saracens, Children of Haqim (endonym), Judges
Based in their concealed stronghold of Alamut in the Middle East, the Banu Haqim have long been perceived by Western Kindred as perilous assassins and practitioners of diablerie. However, the reality is that they are actually protectors, fighters, and intellectuals striving to detach themselves from the incessant struggles of vampiric factions, commonly referred to as the Jyhad. Over the course of their existence, they have consistently maintained a self-reliant and autonomous clan, yet they have recently aligned themselves with the Camarilla.
Disciplines: Blood Sorcery, Celerity, Obfuscate
Bane - Blood Addiction: Banu Haqim are drawn to feed from those deserving punishment. This is especially true for vampire Blood, the very essence of transgression. When one of the Judges tastes the Blood of another Cainite, they find it very hard to stop.
The Laws of Haqim
The loyalists of the clan do not follow the Traditions as such, but instead a set of codes handed down from their founder.
The Law of Leadership
Honor the Eldest among you for he is to rule my House when I am absent.
The Law of Protection
Ward the mortals from Caine’s descendants and treat them with honor in all things.
The Law of Destruction
Slay not those of the Blood, for that Judgment is for the Eldest alone.
The Law of the Word
Deceive not those of the Blood, for my House is founded on Truth.
The Law of Judgment
Judge those of Caine’s blood and punish them should they be found wanting.

Vampire: The Masquerade Chronical Skeletones of Charleston
June 2010
The Camarilla Council of Archons sends Detective Vivien Juan Andres Garcia of Colombia - Gengrel-Ancilla [character belongs to @hawxharley ] who must investigate the mysterious disappearance of an important Tremere. The missing man was last seen in Charleston, the town under the complete control of Camarilla. This town is small, but known for its bloody history and holds many ancient secrets, for which it is regularly attacked by Sabbat or someone else. For these reasons, a powerful Ventrue (apparently straight out of the Roman Empire) has been chosen as the town's Prince since the 1980s. The remaining Kindred here may not be many, but most of them are over a century old.
Vivien is greeted by the residents of the town:
Denzel Rocce - a relatively young Bruja who actively cares about informing citizens and tourists about the history of this town. He doesn't want anyone to forget the agony of his ancestors… and possibly himself.
[Then player truly lost this character and continued the game on the Archon's emissary, Assamite named "Krait"].
Elena Markovich - Ventrue and the Prince's Childe, assigned by himself to kindly help Vivien with settling into her new place, introductions and investigations. Or alternatively… making sure she didn't learn more than an outsider should know.
[Elena is my girl]
I love how our chronicle evolves and we definitely want to go back to it and build theories about what the hell is going on. So I come home after the game and I want to tell my partner about the story, the relationship dynamics and the intrigue. But my story goes something like this: well, this dude, who is white-haired, no, who is ours, went there and met that other dude, but from another clan, the one who used to do it, and he doesn't like that one, because he hangs out with a group that they historically do not respect, and that other dude, who is with others, he is not with them, but with her…. So what's the problem and why he doesn't really understand is becoming more than obvious))))
It is very difficult for an uninformed guy in all these intrigues to orientate and it is difficult to tell about it. So I scribbled a scheme of who is who to whom, and then I and generally visited me the idea of designe it normal.
Some of them I didn't draw much, as they died somewhere early in the story and definitely won't be coming back. The antagonist side is still a work in progress + likely recruitment to the ranks is not that unrealistic) Though there are rats among the Camarilla too… as if the Sabbat, Hunters and Inquisition aren't enough, then they're also at each other's throats. Typical Camarilla… they were told that we have a Blood Hunt, you must kill enemies (!!!!), and they are like: okay, but first I will strengthen my position by killing my allies, and then we'll see what to do with the enemies. Oh, yeah, the demons are sitting there watching with popcorn.
P.S. By the way, if someone will seem that some of the characters remind some actors, it is not a coincidence). For our master it was sometimes easier to describe nps by creating an association for us.

astarion: lasombra
gale: tremere
halsin: gangrel, of course
jaheira: brujah
karlach: brujah who had an unfortunate incident with a tzimisce
mizora: the tzimisce in question
lae’zel: banu haqim (“assamite is our word, ishtik”)
minthara: ravnos
minsc: malkavian
shadowheart: setite as dark justicar, salubri as cleric of selûne
wyll: toreador
durge: malkavian
gortash: ventrue
orin: tzimisce
ketheric: setite
sceleritas fel: frequently mistaken for nosferatu but no. he’s just a very small gargoyle
cazador: baali of lasombra descent
mystra: you probably expect me to say tremere but she actually gives me strong tzimisce vibes from her ascension to godhood to her sadistic nature to how the weave reminds me more of koldunism than thaumaturgy
Oh, I had a few of those! Lasombra!Astarion, Tremere!Gale, Gangrel!Halsin, Brujah!Karlach, and yeah, infernalist-flavoured Lasombra!Cazador.
For Jaheira, Lae'zel, Minsc, Shadowheart, and Wyll, already mentioned my thoughts on them, although I do really like Banu Haqim for Lae'zel too!
Minthara, tragically, I don't know well enough yet. Durge... yeah, Malkavian, or just someone with a tenuous grasp of control on their Beast. Gortash as Ventrue is pretty perfect, although I could also see Tremere? Orin, definitely Tzimisce, yeah. Ketheric... I had Isobel as Tzimisce from a Revenant family, and Ketheric is both her father and sire, so he'd be Tzimisce too. Probably much more Old-Clan, compared to Orin and her meat crimes - another point of difference there.
Sceleritas is definitely a bitty Gargoyle. And Mystra I had as Tremere as well, and Gale's sire. Definitely found him as a baby mage and groomed him for the Embrace. It does have Koldunic overtones, but I just... see the whole Mother of Magic thing fits in better with Tremere. Maybe she's from a Revenant family too, so she's picked up a Tzimisce 'flavour'? Or she's one of the originals (replacing Meerlinda, maybe) and the ritual used Tzimisce blood, and she just developed more latent traits?
