Sixteen years after the release of her debut album made her a country star, Taylor Swift officially returns to the world of country music with her tenth studio album, Once Gone By. Swift cites the process of re-recording her early albums as inspiration, stating in the album prologue, “I was reminded that at the heart of who I am, I am still the girl from Nashville with a guitar.” Once Gone By draws upon the nature imagery of its predecessors, folklore and evermore, as its lyrics paint pictures of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Scottish Highlands and the Italian Riviera. Swift’s craft as a storyteller is as impressive as ever, particularly showcased in the fictional tales of No Other Life and Tennessee. The lead single, Midnight, calls back to the Georgia stars of her debut single and tells of the romance found in the smallest moments. Swift’s vocals soar on the orchestral track The Great Escape, whilst Your Eyes offers a tender and subdued glimpse at Swift’s role as a daughter and sister. With Once Gone By, the wide-eyed dreamer of her early work meets the sophisticated maturity of a woman in her thirties in an album that feels both totally original and quintessentially Taylor Swift.

hidden harmony (2018) released on January 14, is Taylor Swift's 7th studio album. It encompasses around guitar riffs, heavy drums, alternative-pop sound and frequent dial tones. -> The last track written for the album [ I Buried A Hatchet ] track reflects over the core of the album, "I have lived so long in the creases of the page / ridiculed for my lovesick ballads / tried to dissolve in the static but ever since I buried the hatchet / its been a good a share of days / got a house down the 2nd lane / and here goes an aubade."
The first track [ An itch for the Traanscendental ] is the continuation of her infamous call in chart-topping single "look what you made me do" (2017) she is accompanied by lorde in the chorus. in fan favourite [ Comic Strip Alleys ] she sings unapologetically "i was right beside you / hung up in your comic strip alleys / i've been loose with mercy, enough pulling my strings / enough choking on the crown, it has always belonged to me" the album paints up contrasts, big ones. the sole self-written song of the album, [ The Podium ] is a poem turned song and the pathos speaks for itself. "my wings have been charred, for i flew too close to the sun / cross hatched plans, nowhere to run / it's a long way to the podium". the most pop infused track, [ Hubba Bubba Birthday ] is a celebration of love and hope, "their words scalded my tongue / now the taste of someone better settles in my mouth / it's a hubba-bubba birthday, it's you and my hometown". Swift briefs us on the meaning behind the album title,"the fans had a theory that I had an album and I cut its wings and scratched it out, they were right about it, this is reputation minus the vengeance" she chuckles, "It's reputation's funky little sister with a house in leeds and a vegetable garden, who believes everything works out for the better". The last track written for the album [ I Buried A Hatchet ] track reflects over this theme closely, "I have lived so long in the creases of the page / ridiculed for my lovesick ballads / tried to dissolve in the static but ever since i buried the hatchet / its been a good a share of days / got a house down the 2nd lane / and here goes an aubade." "Yeah that track pretty much says it all, I wrote it on new year's eve, just after I watched the sunrise from my rooftop". x x

“There’s a saying that celebrities are frozen at the age they got famous, and the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve realised that it rings true for me.
I was sixteen years old when I released my first album. In between recording the songs I would introduce to the world and writing hundreds more just for me, I would sit in math class and go to football games and wonder if I’d be invited to the big party next weekend. Releasing an album did nothing to squash the insecurities of a teenage girl, and in fact intensified them. I was no longer scared that I’d be rejected by a cute boy or laughed at by the prom queen. I was now scared that I’d be rejected by the world and laughed at by my peers, and it’s a fear I carried with me throughout most of my career. It’s a fear I carry with me even now, although I’ve learned not to let it burden me. I was sixteen when I got famous, and a part of me is still stuck at that age.
It’s bittersweet to look back at pictures of myself at the start of my career. At the time I had felt so old, achieving my dreams before I had even graduated high school. In so many of the photos, I look happy, hopeful, and young. I had no idea what the future had in store for me. That even as I entered my twenties and then my thirties, I’d still have my personality and my work torn apart by people who didn’t care for me. In many ways, I’m still the girl in those photos, the one in boots and sundresses and plastic tiaras. In many ways, I’m no longer her, as years of pain and regret and heartbreak have turned me into someone new.
I’ve had a lot of growing up to do. I knew I couldn’t take the next steps in my career until I reflected on my past and the person I’d become, tracing my steps right back to the very beginning. I wanted to be able to celebrate my achievements, my moments of happiness, and the people in my life. But I also wanted to think about who I was before all of that. I wanted to think about the person I could have become, had things gone differently. I wanted to think about the joys of life in the public eye, but also the fears and the hurt that comes with it. I wanted to rewind, to remember my nightmares, to pick up the broken shards of the mirror, to rediscover the path that helped me find everything I wanted, and follow it right down to the end of the road.
Most of all, I wanted to put into the words the things I would say to my sixteen year old self. The good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the wonderful and the wicked. I wanted to remind her that she can always go back home, that true love does exist, that real happiness doesn’t come from crowns and flashing lights and the approval of strangers - it comes from within. I wanted to tell her that she’ll eventually grow up, have her dreams come true, and learn to make the most out of the bad times. But first, she’ll have to bleed to do it.
This is for her. This is for me. This is for you.
Love, Taylor.”

Taylor Swift’s Psychic Dynamite (2022) is a stunning masterpiece inspired by late sixties and seventies rock music. Another genre under the talented singer-songwriter, this folk-rock album is an amazing follow-up to her critically acclaimed sister albums, folklore (2020) and evermore (2020). Playing on themes of fantasies, truth, lies and nostalgia, Swift continues to delve into story-telling. Once again working with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, and new collaborator Aaron Dessner, Psychic Dynamite is a dreamy, mystical album that is sure to continue Swift’s success.

I had so much fun with this! Here is the picture I got. Also here is the quote :
“Every prophet has to come from civilization, but every prophet has to go into the wilderness. He must have a strong impression of a complex society and all that it has to give, and then he must serve periods of isolation and meditation. This is the process by which psychic dynamite is made.” - Winston Churchill
This was really creatively filling. I love doing album redesigns, but it’s really difficult to come up with fake song names, theme, and idea of what the album will sound like so kudos to Taylor for actually coming up with real songs, themes, etc. I liked the challenge!
Here’s the link to the challenge post. I encourage everyone to take part :)

Bleed to Do It is the singer’s fourth studio album. Released on April 11, 2021, the album brings back that characteristic 90s sound from the Riot Grrrl era. Despite the change of tone from her previous albums, each song remains unapologetically Halsey; and based on the social media uproar its caused, her fans seem to agree! But it comes as no surprise when they have been asking her to do a more intense project since the release of her hit singles Nightmare and Experiment on Me (from Birds of Prey: The Album).
The 26 year old discusses a wide range of topics in her songs, but also knows how to keep it fun as proved by the single Kitty Mine, which quickly became a fan favorite mainly due to the Doja Cat feature. Another feature that took fans by surprise was The Pretty Reckless’ very own Taylor Momsen. In this reimagined version of her 2019 single Nightmare, Halsey brings the song to the next level with a more aggressive sound and Momsen’s incredible guitar skills, cementing its status as a smash hit.
With this work being heavily inspired by the Riot Grrrl movement, it goes without saying that the album is inherently political, and the singer uses this to her advantage by writing about aspects from her life in a way she hasn’t explored before. Halsey’s never shied away from her struggles with bipolar disorder, as she’s even written about it before, but none of her previous songs have felt quite as raw as Smoke and Mirrors does. She’s also been very open about her bisexuality since the start (as once again proven by Kitty Mine), but Spectrum marks the first time she’s used her relationship with gender identity in her work, and the response its gotten from fans has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive.
But not everything in the album is taken from her personal life; as she did in her previous work Manic, her new album features a song inspired by the 2009 cult classic Jennifer’s Body, which Halsey’s made clear is one of her favorite films. Crossing You Out gets its name from one of the iconic quotes from the movie and, much like Jennifer herself, explores the fantasy of seeking revenge on the abusive people in your life. Just like with killing boys, the song samples a voiceover from the film, and fans can’t seem to get enough of it.
Halsey saves the best for last, though. Closing the album with her own rendition of Bikini Kill’s iconic Rebel Girl, sung as a duet with none other than Riot Grrrl pioneer and Bikini Kill front-woman Kathleen Hanna herself. A collaboration that made fans of both artists to completely lose their minds.
Whether or not you’re a fan of the genre, one thing’s for sure: this is Halsey’s greatest work yet.

🦋 ALBUM CREATION EDIT CHALLENGE 🦋 by @cellphonehippie
We just can’t get enough of Butterflies, Ariana Grande’s newest album! The singer treated her fans to this melodious look into her mind, as she uses the power of song to reflect on who she is, how far she’s come, and where she’s going next. If there’s one thing that Grande’s fans can agree on, it’s that they’re ready and thrilled to go on this musical journey with her.
Grande opens her album with Charlotte, the title paying homage to her character in the Broadway production, 13, which marked the beginning of her career. The dreamy sound of Charlotte takes inspiration from The Sound of Music, allowing the singer to showcase her vocal power, along with her love and respect for musical theater. Fans quickly recognized Come A Little Closer as a lyric from Give It Up, an iconic song from their childhoods that was sung by Grande and Elizabeth Gillies on the hit Nickelodeon show, Victorious. We were all delighted to see that Gillies was invited back to sing this new, mature rendition of the song.
Love Letter was a favorite of many listeners, as Ariana used this song to express her love and appreciation for everyone that’s been supporting her throughout her career. This is the song that Grande’s fans hold nearest and dearest to their hearts. We simply were not prepared for Venus, or the combination of Grande and Demi Lovato’s sheer vocal power.  It’s impossible to describe the euphoric feelings one gets from listening to these two incredibly talented women belt it out for three and a half minutes. I invite you to listen to the song and experience it for youself. You won’t regret it.
Grande impressed many with the confidence and creativity of Finish Line, her message to us that her career is far from over, because the finish line is always moving forward. The singer knows that she hasn’t peaked yet, and there’s much more success coming her way. I’m Done was the perfect way to close the album, with Grande expressing how letting go of the toxic people and bad experiences of her life has improved her mental health and made her much happier and freer, inspiring many of her listeners to do the same.
Ariana Grande’s newest album Butterflies is an admirable work of art, and many feel that it’s her best album yet. We’re excited to continue this musical journey with the singer and see what she has in store for us next!

ENVY is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on December 13, 2018. ENVY explores a diverse range of styles with influences from the pop punk bands from the early 2000′s, featuring industrial undertones, and a post-grunge sound with a mixture of  '90s-indie. The album includes collaborations with Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Mitski, and an “almost unrecognizable” cover of Selena Gomez’ Perfect. Swift stated that the albums major themes are "desire for a normal life and resentment on your current one,  anxiety and desperation and at the end, a love that shine through it all. Upon its release, ENVY  received widespread acclaim from music critics.
