Ace of All Trades Background Photo made by yours truly!
I had so much fun making this background! I used only Ace flag colours and made lots of use of Krita's reference image😂. I did about half of this using just a mouse and then used my friend's graphics tablet for the second half (my first drawing on tablet coming in two weeks, it was...something😂😂).
I'm going to challenge myself to redo this in a year to see how much i've grown since then but until then, this is where we're at, which isn't a bad starting point.
When I learn how to properly shade it'll be over for all of yall. 😂😂

Day 2: Craft
I missed @dalish-appreciation-week day 1 cause I had an awful migraine and never finished my fic but I do have this ficlet for day 2! I imagine Dalish do lots of knitting and crocheting with halla fur, it would be easier than trying to weave on the go as far as I’m concerned :3 I picked crochet cause that’s what I do in my spare time lol

Fibercraft had never been Alras’ strong suit. Sure he’d played around with it as a kid, but once his magic came in, all of his focus had turned to that.
Still, he was determined. He’d traded for halla wool and a crochet hook from the Dalish clan in the Exalted Plans, and the nice craftswoman had made sure he knew what he was doing. Well enough anyway. Now he just had to make a scarf and hat.
It was easier said than done. The first attempt at a scarf had become a triangle… somehow. Alras still wasn’t entirely sure how. It would forever remain a mystery. Then once he’d gotten the hang of that, it turned out he didn’t have enough wool for his plans.
But he had a scarf anyway. That would have to do.
“Here!” He presented his present to Dorian with a wide grin. The tevinter raised an eyebrow, taking the box from him gingerly.
“What, pray tell, are you doing?”
“It’s a gift, Dorian.” Dorian looked more perplexed than Alras thought he ought to. “You do give gifts in Tevinter, right?”
“Of course we give gifts,” Dorian replied with a huff. He opened the box, blinking at what he found. “A scarf?”
“You are always complaining about the cold, vhenan,” Alras teased. “I made it! I also acknowledge that it’s ugly but-”
“Nonsense, it’s perfect.” Dorian wrapped it around his neck, looking a bit like he was drowning in it. “Although it is a little… wide.”
“I never claimed to be a master craftsman,” Alras said with a laugh. He gently pulled Dorian in by the scarf, kissing him gently. “Although I like being able to do that.”
“Then I shall have to wear this often,” Dorian said, eyes sparkling. “Thank you, Amatus.”
“Anything for you, vhenan.”

The trend making the internet wholesome again
hey say the devil finds work for idle hands, but after a year of intermittent lockdowns and social starvation, the hobbies many of us have chosen to busy ourselves with are surprisingly wholesome.
Lately, there has been a deluge of crafting content on TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram, as crocheting and knitting shed the senior stereotype and emerge as fashion's newest fad among Gen Z.A cursory scroll through YouTube reveals hoards of young people clattering a pair of needles together, sharing patterns and newly acquired tricks. Teens and 20-somethings document their creative process, from inspiration through to completion.
Affordability is a top priority, with many replicating garments that would otherwise be well out of their price-range. ("Recreating the $1400 cardigan + bandeau that Kendall Jenner wore for $12" reads one video title.) Some content creators will actually teach you to make something, while others simply take you along for the cosy, satisfying ride.The vlogs are enjoyably chaotic, as the amatuer knitters weave away with abandon, haphazardly modifying patterns through a dramatic dance of trial and error or freestyling altogether.
