I really like the idea of Davespritekat and I really hate the idea of Davekat and I have no goddamn clue what to think

I like to think Davepsprite and Karkat would have a lot more animosity, since Davesprite did blame Terezi and by extension, the trolls, for having killed John and Jade, essentially dooming his timeline with Rose. Even if the Karkat in the new timeline is different, Davesprite will still hold it against him that his group had been the cause. Maybe he hopes that they could be better people and the reason he rags on Karkat is a test to see if it would get him to do some shit instead of standing by.

this fic is incomplete but i have written at least 70k for it and i will be completing it so help me god. i am so fucking close.

anyway, if you like found family, love triangles that dont make you froth at the mouth, healthy communication, and absolutely buckwild takes on sburb, classpects, and doomed characters, boy do i have the fic for you. this is perhaps the most self indulgent of all of the fics ive ever written and if i am an audience of one to my own disaster then that is how it shall be.

EDIT x2 (9/10/23): ive fixed some grammar/formatting mistakes and other odds and ends, and im linking some amazing fanart on this post! honestly, for a while, i thought about deleting this fic. its incredibly niche and its performed so badly, but i think that if you really like fics that get into the worldbuilding, where everyone gets a chance at a happy ending and friends are just as important as partners, maybe this is still worth a read.
