now that noda is on leave, I think U should revisit ur analysis of ogata. reread the chapters & you'll discover that ogata is not a cold-blooded killing machine. He killed his mom as mercy, he killed Yuusaku to save his mission since yuusaku is likely to inform tsurumi of his plans. he killed his dad because he deserved it. He only kills if he's forced & it is always a mercy killing. Yuusaku wont make it anyway since he sucks in the military. the poor dude never noticed ogata wanted him away.

I really don't know what manga you're reading cuz this is definitely NOT Golden Kamuy.

First of all, your opinion of Ogata & reading of his characters is yours & you're free to think whatever. But since you're telling me to re-read the chapters, I'll advise you do the same.

"ogata is not a cold-blooded killing machine.", Really?

Him killing his mom is NOT a mercy killing. Poisoning someone to death at the age of I duno 8 or 9 is NOT mercy killing. His mom might had mental issues but she don't deserve death.

When on earth did Yuusaku threaten to tell Tsuruni anything? Yuusakue doesn't even know anything abt central or spying or even Tsurumi?!

Yuusaku "sucks in the military" cuz he "never noticed ogata wanted him away"... so, all the training in the military is useless if a guy never suspects his own brother "prefers to be alone"?! lol. Where on GK that Yuusakue's "bad" military skills are mentioned? Ogata is NOT the center of the universe, so Yuusaku might suck at reading his brother, but excel in doing military deeds! Yuusaku might even be very observant in dealing with the foreign enemy like Russians or whatever, buy why on earth would he suspect his brother?

I've read before ppl saying that "Yuusaku only got his position the military due to his dad". That was never mentioned in the manga or volume unless I've missed sth!. He might be bad but it was NEVER stated, so why is it treated as a fact?

Killing Yuusake is sth Ogata chose to do for HIS own reasons. It has to do with his obsession of " proving everybody can be corrupted & should NOT feel guilt". What Yuusaku told his brother ( the necessity to feel guilt as a normal trait) is NOT wrong at all. On the contrary is is the truth that Ogata MUST face. Ogata wants to say " i'm normal" but children who kill their moms are NOT normal. Ogata instead of looking back at himself & dealing with his issues chose to prove that the path of death, corruption & rejection of love is the right path. It is NOT.

Killing his dad is complicated. Hanazaw is targeted by the Central, Tsurumi & Ogata. All three want him dead for three totally different reasons. By killing Hanazaw, Ogata might be serving all three (central, Tsurumi & himself).

Ogata is NOT responsible for what his mom & dad did to him. but he IS responsible for what he did to others. Being a victim does NOT excuse killing others.

Ogata is a sniper. Snipers are sole soldiers with limited ammo & a hideout that once is exposes they're in immense danger. Ogata can't just kill everybody & do whatever. He MUST weigh his options & choose his targets without exposing his hideout. That's why he doesnt kill unless he must. Not saying he's a killing machine, I'm saying things aren't as humanely as you think. It is a military style for snipers.

You can LOVE ogata as much as you want, you you dont have to cleanse him to love him. He is fictional, loving him despite knowing he killed ppl doesnt make you a horrible person. It IS fiction dude~~~~~

You can cleanse him & make him an angel that descended to save Japan, just don't try to force this in my throat. I respect that you have your own opinion, but I disagree with ALL of it. lol.

This isn't the first ask I received abt Ogata's "angelic mercy killing that he is so forced to do despite being the most innocent human there is"... Why can't Ogata's fans accept that different opinions exist. ? I like Ogata, too. My reasons? he's so mentally & emotionally corrupted & adds layers to the story that otherwise would be lost without him, Him getting redemption or dying a killer doesn't bother me as long as it's well-written & makes sense within his character & the story. you don't have to convince me of your opinion. It's okay that others think differently.

Btw, Golden Kamuy is NOT a story abt right or wrong. All the "important" characters (minus Asripa & shirashi) are cold killers with bloody hands. Yes, the main MC Sugimoto included. He isnt fighting for japan nor the minority. He's fighting to help this child he "thinks" he got her into this gold hunt & whom he object his lost innocence on. That's totally fine. GK isnt a story abt perfect justice-fighters for the-right-reasons-heroes.

(It's like not every1 notice sgmt is going to kill ogt in 197, without u spotted that, i would never notice) so... it's great if u spend a little time for it, more ppl will know what truly happened.(´・ω・｀)

Thank you for the vote of confidence...

...but I’m absolutely not up to write for the wikia. The guys who’re taking care of it are showing an admirable dedication, doing a lot of work, dedicating to it quite a good amount of time and updating it each time a new chapter comes up as fast as possible. I genuinely admire them especially because I’m sure I wouldn’t manage to do the same.

Real life barely leaves me the time to keep up with this blog, managing the wikia would be too much for me.

Also my work of observation is, comparatively much easier, as I don’t have any hurry and I can focus solely on my ramblings, which allows me to focus more on details that are apparently small... and it focuses more on theorizing and commenting on how Golden Kamuy makes me feel than on analytically reporting what’s going on.

Also I happen too to miss detailshere and there. It happens. We’re all humans. I’m really no better than anyone else reading Golden Kamuy.

As for noticing what Sugimoto was going to do... that was more because I expected him to plan on doing something similar if it turned out Ogata couldn’t be saved so I was basically ready for him to try to do so and therefore immediately focused on the bayonet and on what Sugimoto might have planned to do with it.

So really, thank you a lot for apprecciating my work, but I have to decline. Sorry about it but I still think the wikia is left in good, loving hands and that we should all be grateful to the people working on it as they’re awesome.

this one is a lil tough because !! i pay attention to sounds that matches my muse more than words but !! baby i’m dyin’ by lolawolf gives me a lot of sela vibes. it’s the sound , the singer’s voice the tone and such … it just feels like her , like what someone would hear if she had a theme song. minus the words but , tbh , the words ‘ i wanna feel love , but i don’t want my heart to ache ‘ is very her.

13. If your muse were the main character in a movie/book/show/game/…, what would it be called? What would it be about?

it’d be called ‘ defying the odds ‘ and it’d be about her journey to the top of the police force despite being quirkless and such. it’d be a game i think , where you’d have to fulfill quests and such to get higher and higher up the ranks. there will be side stories of her personal life , her bouts of loneliness , her mild commitment issues … learning to be a person outside of her job. i think the objective wouldn’t just be to get her to the top , but to get her in a happy & healthy state too.

14. Do you have any NPCs for your muse’s world or story? If yes, can you tell us something about them?

mhhmm , i do !! i’ve got her mom and dad , chelsie and hiroki !! they’re like the ‘ still disgustingly in love after all these years ‘ parents. her mother’s quirk is ‘ intimidation ‘ so , basically , she lets out a smell and it can travel as far as the wind takes it so to speak. and basically , she becomes intimidating to anyone who smells it. her father’s quirk is ‘ charisma ‘ and by remaining eye contact he seems like a very charismatic guy. that’s why he was a sales man.

another npc is her partner !! this big guy who only has a last name ‘ inuzuka ‘ !! he’s like a real ‘ tell it like it is ‘ guy !! he’s got a daughter and is married !! he is honestly one of her closes friends and confidant. his quirk is ‘ force field ‘ and they were paired because of his quirk. basically he can let out a force field that’s about 5 - 7 ft wide. things can come out but things can’t get in. so , if they’re in a pickle , he can activate the force field to protect them and sela can keep shooting.

15. Share a random headcanon about your muse!

i’ll share a moment ! when sela was in high school , she had always been v nice to an old lady who worked near the train station. it was a little bakery , she’d get a snack there on her way to and back from school. this little old lady has a weather quirk , it isn’t very strong but she can create some rain clouds and give off a lil rain or thunder storm u know.

one day while walking back home , passing the bakery , sela had gotten bumped into by a u.a. student. now , sela went to ketsubutsu which is a direct rival to u.a. but sela wasn’t in the hero course so she didn’t care. but the u.a. students did. and they were being kind of a dick to her !! blaming her even though it was them , etc etc. now sela isn’t a dumbass ( and isn’t the badass we know now , either ) so she’s like ‘ i can’t them angry because they can do some shit ‘. but she’s glaring at them from the floor and is about to say something when clouds suddenly appear over the u.a. students heads and lightening comes down at them. it misses them , of course , but it spooks them enough to leave.

sela is surprised , she looks around and then over at the bakery … and there was the old lady at the door giving a knowing smirk. sela adored her so much.

mmmm kind of ? she believes there’s some higher power , believes in God , but doesn’t quite do much in regards to it. she doesn’t go to a church or prays very often … but she believes there’s something going on , you know. makes dying less scary.

IT’S FINALLY DONE *dies*

Long story short: Boy’s pretty weak, Niles has way too much fun, Xander and Leo are assholes to Laslow and Odin, Kamui gives an inspirational speech, Leo gains a new retainer, all is forgiven, and Niles just doesn’t want to put his clothes back on.

This track wasn’t actually that difficult, but there were certain parts where I had to work and rework the wording.
