Ooof good question..... I wanna say Flora? She's a kid still and I haven't done anything with her in a hot minute but she's a tinkerer at heart and i feel like we'd vibe really well when she's older

Oh man i don't think I can say that there's any one OC who resembles me the most, cos they all do in some way or another, be it personality traits or habits or (dis)likes. Flora has my interest in tinkering and crafting, Stormy has a similar brand of self-image as me, Liam's got my sentimentality, Ari my love for citrus fruits, Nightscar and June my uneasiness around water, Leyla (and a couple other OCs too lol) my big sis/chaperone type tendencies, etc etc..... Appearance wise tho June's the one whose body type is the closest to my own

29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?

Quentin. Everyone else would either not go or go with somebody else or at least tell somebody about it lol. Quentin though would just go because he's curious about it, he's not easily spooked and and often goes investigating by himself anyways.

32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?

Most suitable? Lacrima, Lilian or Kala. Lacrima and Lilian are probably the only ones of my kiddos who'd have the skillset and sheer determination to actually yknow. Not Die as a horror protag lmao. Both are well equipped to handle high stress situations, know how to survive on their own and also both intense (and unhinged) enough to deal with whatever craziness the setting throws at them. Kala would 100% be able to survive too because she is one tough mfer who simply refuses to die. When we're talking most entertaining horror game protags that would be June and Stormy, it'd be much more of a Buzzfeed Unsolved vibe lol. Tho their method of survival would be a combo of dumb luck and crafty improv

I guess since hunting is a huge thing in Yautja culture, first hunt with their kids is like essential for them.

Probably will take them around teenage years, not too late but not to young too

Also growing up around yautjas kid will automaticly be more athletic and skilled than average earth teen

But back to kid being kid. HE WILL MELT if they hold his hand or fidget with his armor! of course its dangerous and sharp! but its so cute! Yautjas are very curious beings too, but they wouldnt randomly come to LEADER of a Clan and start just start fidgeting with his armor/locks

Also he sometimes forgot that human kids take more time to learn basic stuff, how to walk for example. so he will just start walking his normal pace, turn around becasue they didnt hear kid's steps and just see them laying on the floor cuz they fell :(

He would spy on normal human families to see how kids behave and how perents treat them! Yknow Yautjas arent like humans they dont really care about their kids after they learn how to hunt

Noone can litteraly hurt them(exept their own perent apeareantly) cuz if somone does, death for them :) or at least a lot of hissing and punching

Theres no way in hell that he will braid their hair, he is too tired to learn how to do that! And human hair constantly grows!!why!! pls its everywhere!!! So he would probably cut them short, it grows back anyways so whats the deal?? But if kid really reallllyy loves their hair i guess they can stay in certain lenght BUT they take care of it alone he doenst want to deal wtih it (mental break down due to one event when he tried to do pretty braids and it got tangled and he didnt know what to do)

But even if he really loves them, and treats them as his own, he still wants them to hunt or at least help the clan in someways, he doenst want his kid to grow up to be useless. He will try to find something that would fit them (for example if kid is intrested in crafting they may become a blacksmith in future (ihave no clue if yaujtas have blacksmiths i just took random profession alr))

Overall 9/10 amazing dad material, although he sometimes doenst undestand human body and how it really works

marcus x luca, long distance pining perhaps?, 2k words tw for talking about death, specifically parents a/n: this contains s2 spoilers!!! dont say i didnt warn you!! also im taking an absolute leap of faith with what those missed calls mean so call it divergence from canon, or assumption of canon, or . yknow. enjoying free real estate idk (same with luca backstory hehe) tagging @drabbles-mc because it exists for her <3

Luca’s phone rings, just minutes before his usual alarm gets chance to—sending that weird fucking tune that Instagram uses, pin-balling from his nightstand, straight into his skull—screen lit and blinding. He should keep it on do not disturb, yeah, he knows that, but as disruptive as it is, this is exactly the reason he doesn’t. It’s meant to wake him up, because there aren’t many people that would message him this early in the morning, and there’s only one that’d ring him over Instagram, of all places. Free of charge and desperately reliant on the good of their internet connections.

‘Yo.’ He clears his throat after picking up, rubbing a hand across his sleep-filled eyes. He’s on his back still, phone to his ear, smirk toying the edges of his mouth once they’ve woken up enough. ‘I’m guessing you got the parcel, then?’

The line is silent in response, and stays so for long enough that he pulls the phone away to check the call’s still connected. His eyes are bleary from the brightness of it, but it is, connected and split screened, both profile pictures staring back at him. Clock counting.

‘Marcus?’ he asks, speaking back into the phone. ‘Think we’ve got a bad connection, mate.’

More quiet. The hum of what sounds like an industrial extractor fan, if he really tries to listen for it. 

‘Can you hear me?’ he asks. 

‘Yeah,’ Marcus says eventually, staccato through the phone, ‘yeah, I, um.’ 

So it’s not the wifi. And there’s an edge to his voice that strips all remaining sleep from Luca's, and pulls him upright until he’s sitting, pillows rolling under his back. ‘You alright?’

‘Sorry.’

‘For what?’

Marcus sighs. The connection warps it into something robotic. ‘Calling you.’

‘Well, I assume there’s a reason for it.’ He wouldn’t ring for nothing, and he wouldn’t struggle if there wasn’t something forcing him to. ‘What’s up?’

Silence again, then the gulls, waking outside Luca’s window. Loud and begging before the sun’s even finished rising. Marcus isn’t doing anything to try and compete with them, though they must be audible to him too, so for a moment it feels like they’re a part of the conversation. Getting their turn while the both of them wait. 

He shouldn’t yawn, he shouldn’t, even with the pause, and he’s really trying not to. Swallowing nothing. Clenching his jaw, relaxing it again. Fighting it back with every trick he knows.

It happens anyway. Loud and stretching down the line. 

‘You want to talk about something else,’ he asks afterwards, since his eyes are starting to droop, ‘until you can talk about whatever it is that’s happened?’

Marcus coughs, dry and purposeless. Forced maybe. ‘I don’t know. I guess.’

That’s good enough. ‘Alright. Where are you?’

It’s a start. Where are you, Marcus, when you should be at home making something to eat, or at work, scrubbing dried dough from the counters. 

‘Out the back,’ he replies, sounding tired with it. Defeated, even.

‘The back of the restaurant?’

‘Yeah. Sitting on a,’ he laughs weakly, ‘a fucking, upturned bucket.’

‘Right. A bucket. That’s the luxury we aim for, isn’t it? As chefs.’

‘Yeah, something like that.’

Upturned buckets and 4AM alarms—which he’s just shut off, now that it’s finally buzzed into life against his ear. 

‘Tough night?’ he asks, sitting up from the pillows. He doesn’t have to go right away, but he has to at least start the process, one step at a time.

The phone cracks as Marcus coughs again. It’s definitely forced, aimed to dislodge whatever’s catching his words before they make it to Luca's ear. ‘Nah, um, good night actually,’ he says. ‘First run with the new, well, new everything. Friends and family.’ 

‘Really?’ Luca smiles. It carries into his voice. ‘Wow, congrats, man.’

‘I mean, it was all Syd and.’

He never finishes the sentence. 

Luca checks the phone again, not to see the connection, but for the time instead. To know how quick he’s going to have to move, if he lets himself be lazy for a little longer.

‘You get that, what was it…?’ He sighs down the line once it’s back to his cheek, rubbing at his sleep-swollen face. ‘Sorry, that bavarois you made, you get it onto the menu?’  

Marcus smiles, or at least he hopes he does. It sounds like it when he replies. ‘Yeah, you know, big hit. Fire, in Carmy’s words.’

‘Oh, that’s when you know it’s good,’ he agrees, finally standing from the bed. ‘Proud of you, mate.’

‘Thank-you.’ 

Another silence to fill, and now it’s getting hard to. Because it’s early, and he’s trying to get dressed, tugging one leg, then the other, into his trousers, with the phone pinned to his shoulder, and he’s asked all he can think to ask, without espresso fuelling his system. 

‘You, um, you get my gift?’ he tries, hopping as he pulls them up to his hips. 

But it was badly timed, in the end, because Marcus chose exactly then to say, ‘My mom,’ at the same time. ‘It’s my mom.’

‘Oh, shit.’ Luca stills. Lifts the phone from his shoulder. ‘Is she—did she—I’m sorry. Fuck.’

‘I missed the calls,’ he says, ‘all, fucking, twenty of them. While we were in the shit.’

‘I don’t know what to say.’ He doesn’t know what to do either, standing half-dressed in his half-lit bedroom, half-way across the world. ‘What happened?’

‘I mean,’ he can picture Marcus shrugging, ‘exactly what we knew would happen. Just, y’know.’

Yeah, he knows.

‘I was expecting it,’ he says. ‘I mean, it had to happen one day.’

Luca sighs. ‘I’m so, so, sorry, Marcus.’

‘Nah, it’s. I mean. Yeah. Life sucks, huh? Really fucking sucks.’ He laughs and it sounds weaker than before. ‘I don’t even know what I’m feeling right now.’

Yeah, he knows that too.

‘I wish I could be there,’ Luca admits. It’s a weak offer of support. Not comforting, not helpful. True, though, and that’s all he can give him. ‘Can I do anything?’ he asks, picking at the wooden edge of his drawers. ‘Anything you need, just let me know and I’ll, yeah, I’ll make it happen.’

‘Nah,’ he sighs, ‘sorry, I don’t know why I called you, really. I mean, we’re not even in the same country.’ 

'It's alright.'

'Opened my phone and it kind of just... happened.'

Because he knew Luca would pick up. ‘Well, I’m awake,’ he reasons, ‘and here, if you need to talk.’

‘Yeah, thank-you. I know.’

‘Not much to say though, is there?’

There’s a silence that Luca can only assume is signalling a head shake, over there in Chicago, in the alley, on top of the bucket.

‘It’s not the same,’ he continues, running with it now, ‘well, I guess it is—sort of—but, when my dad died, I sat in my room for weeks. Didn’t say anything to anybody. Couldn’t if I tried.’ 

‘Your dad?’

He doesn’t pause to answer. He’s already losing the momentum he started with, gone the second he invited Dad back into his head. The only thing to do, is try and continue like they’ve spoken about it a million times before, like Marcus knows the whole fucked up backstory.

‘Went to the funeral, all that stuff, the wake, still said nothing. Just, really, shut down, you know? Shut it out. And my sister, she, well she hated that, but—I mean, and then I went to Chicago and—’

‘Luca, I…’ He’s trying to be polite about it, interrupting in a sheepish way, but what he really wants to say is, shut up, man, it’s not the time for this. It’s evident enough in his tone. His pauses. ‘I’m really trying to keep up, but—’

‘My point is,’ Luca says, quickly followed by, ‘actually, I don’t know what my point is. But this is the worst, worst thing you can go through, alright, I know that first hand. It’s the worst. And I’m here, even if you want to just sit on the phone for company, or something.’

A beat. The tinny sound of a siren passing Marcus on the other side of the world.

‘I’m very good at chatting copious amounts of shit, obviously.’ Luca laughs. ‘So, you know. Whatever you need.’

‘I think I need to quit my job,’ he says, and for a second it feels like someone else has taken the phone, because it doesn’t sound like Marcus at all.

‘Come on, you don’t mean that.’

‘No, I do. I missed every call, Luca. Every call, for fucking what? For the Michael? Do you realise how dumb that is?’

Luca twitches, flexing his shoulders back to correct the posture that had never really sunk in the first place. A nervous thing. Something he picked up in culinary school. ‘It only feels like that now,’ he says.

Marcus scoffs.

‘Sleep on it.’

‘Don’t think that’s happening anytime soon.’

‘Yeah, cause you’ve gotta get off that bucket first.’ It’s like taking another exam, he realises, trying to balance hazelnut swirls onto set custard while your hands are shaking. The balance is everything, get it wrong and he’ll chase Marcus away, just like he did with Frankie. Jokey, but understanding. Patient, but moving him still. ‘Go home, Marcus, see how you feel about it in the morning.’

‘I can’t,' he stresses.

And, shit, he forgot that detail. Somehow, in a conversation all about it. ‘Your mum.’ He sighs. ‘Sorry, I should’ve.’ Forget it. Recover, adapt, fix it from another angle. ‘Is Syd still around?’

‘Think so.’

‘Have you told her?’

He lets that question sit for a while, lets the street noise creep back through the phone in place of his answer. Which Instagram lovingly turns into static, really, radio noise that makes Luca wince. 

Then Marcus says, blank and tired, with a thick voice that needs to be cleared, ‘I think I’m gonna go actually. I should go.’ 

‘Oh.’ It takes a moment for him to recover. ‘Yeah, course, do what you need to do.’

‘Thank-you, you know, for picking up.’

‘Don’t worry about it.’

‘And the gift. It means a lot.’

‘Sure, yeah. I’m glad you like it.’

‘Night, man.’

It’s four in the morning, but he says it back, slipping it in right before the call ends. With that bitter little tone in his ear. If that was an exam, he'd've failed. Maybe. Dropped the details and put his thumb through the layers. 

‘Idiot,’ he mutters, tossing the phone onto the end of his bed. ‘When my dad died. Fuck me.’

Marcus will never call again. He’ll never call him again, actually, not until the funeral’s done and he’s starting to heal from it. Why would he? Who wants to hear that? This is the worst, mate, good luck! 

Christ.

He should’ve said nothing, should’ve waited for Marcus to take the lead and gone from there. Not everyone wants what Frankie wanted. Talking for the sake of talking. 

But he’s running late now, and the t-shirt he’s dragged from the drawers is still sitting around his biceps, waiting to be pulled on. Work first. Work first, then fix it with Marcus. Send another gift, or something, book a plane if you have to. 

He puts his head through the hole and reaches for a pair of socks as the t-shirt rolls down his stomach. Then it’s cologne. Hairbrush. The watch he wears, just to take off and store in his locker once he gets there. Everything he needs from this room, before moving on to the next. Besides his phone, of course, which is waiting on the bed still.

When he reaches it, the screen’s lit already, awake with messages he hadn’t noticed.

Going home, it reads. Thanks for talking me through it. 

It’s in his hand now, staring us from his palm, and telling him that Marcus is still typing. 

And typing.

And typing.

Then, finally,

not about your drama but about drama in a way, sorry.... clocky's creator is an abuser irl... if you look through the clockwork creepypasta tag theres a post about it. not saying change your fave characters by any means but thought you should know, especially if you believe the creator is only offline because of creepy pasta drama or for other reasons :/ i loved her a lot and really felt something with her story .... but then i came across that post today... i dont know if i want to like a character made by someone like that...... idk :(

Recently looked into that and damn. That shit is really disgusting and disappointing to hear about. I do think that Dani is separated from Clockwork nowadays to the point her character is like how Ticci Toby is, sorta taken in by the fandom.

It's definitely a very tricky subject because regardless of what horrible things Dani did, Clockwork is still his vent OC for his own trauma, but then he's also long left her (mostly) in the hands of the fandom to make whatever art and stories with her (without claiming her as your own). So I think at the end of the day it all comes down to what you personally feel comfortable with.

If someone wants nothing to do with Clockwork as a character that's completely understandable. But there are a lot of people, like with Sally as well who's creator is fucking weird, who find comfort in what Clockwork represents as a character outside of who initially created her yknow? So its a bit of a to each their own response regarding how someone wants to use Clockwork after hearing about the shit Dani did, and no response (besides the obvious of supporting Dani) is the wrong one

I've long separated Creepypasta characters from their creators cuz 90% of them want absolutely nothing to do with the characters anyways. I've only ever tried in the past to acknowledge the boundaries the creators set for their creations like how Dani didnt want people to rewrite Clockwork as a result of some drama

Personally, I have a very deep connection to Clockworks character that I view going outside the hands of her creator, like I said, as well with how the fandom took over Ticci Toby. Its ok if you dont want to reclaim Clockwork, everybody is completely entitled to their own responses to all of this, cuz its a very messy and disappointing situation

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? oooo I think all my fics have happy endings? there's a lot of angst between and pain but the ending tends to be happy! altho i do have plans for a mcd mp100 fic and i'm not sure how that one will end.. probably happy but considering the mcd maybe more.. bittersweet? iunno! I guess of my currently published ones the angstiest ending is this Castlevania drabble! It's .. several years old now and probably not very good but hey, growth!

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? ohgosh uuuuhhh probably The God Below?? They all have happy endings but I think that one feels maybe the most rewarding because (at least for me) for a long time it didnt really seem possible FOR it to end happy. Very much how are they gonna get out of this? And not only do they get out of it but there's some surprise happiness too!

If so, what kind? so much smut. sooo much smut. its kind of funny basically all of my mp100 stuff is smut and there was a time where i was like, anxious about writing even heated kiss scenes! i think?? i'm best known for like, loving filth?? like these guys gonna fuck nasty but also wow theyre so in love its almost more filthy than whats actually happening (almost) but i'll write all kinds. i like silly moments in smut, i like the inherent vulnerability that comes with that. also monster sex. i should write more of that

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? not really! altho i have an idea for a Underworld X Resident Evil crossover! i poke the concept every so often. I could make it work i KNOW i can and i KNOW it'd be good too is the thing. it'd fuckin WORK. i mean *gestures vaguely to the movies, the animated movies, the GAMES, the ... live action res tv series* don't talk to me about it, i'm still so hurt. Have you ever co-written a fic before? hmmmm i think so! Not in a traditional sense of like you write this and i write that but Gaymer AU ( yes it's REAL i promise it's REAL) is largely cocreated and brainstormed and just, would not exist without @crownorclover! and omamori feels very co-written with them too as well! oh i also am working on a sequel to the god below via an rp with my pal @garmrr! it's on a bit of a hiatus right now but that's v much co-writing!

What's your all-time favourite ship? man if you'd asked me this a year ago i would've said azicrow but here we are in the serirei trenches. I think there's still a LOT i love about azicrow and what you can do with them as a writer but there's something about serirei and how mundane they are (or try to be). my most recent azicrow fic was a human au so i think already i was seeking out that sort of point of connection and relation? and theres something about the overall themes of mp100 and how deeply flawed all of these characters are that really appeals to me. reigen and serizawa are not perfect people, in many ways they're not even GOOD people (they get there though) and its the getting there and the exploration of that that really appeals to me i think

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? hmm im not sure there is one? in terms of my fanfic, anything that's posted and unfinished i truly believe i WILL finish. idk when, but i will. I dont start posting a fic unless i know exactly how it's going to end and i want to share that ending with readers. I have some OG concepts that may not get finished in their original intent but might get frankensteined into other things!

What are your writing strengths? dialogue, for sure. I think? fjdklajfk i said that a little too confidently and doubted myself but no I do think dialogue is one of my strengths! that and grounded angst. i think i'm good at writing angst that feels like it has weight to it, like it has actual stakes, and how that affects the characters. also world-building! i dont really get to flex it as much in modern settings but i have some scifi and urban fantasy WIPs in the pipeline and im SO STOKED

What are your writing weaknesses? man writing shorter works. ive gotten a LOT better at it this year! writing all the lil mp100 drabbles helped a lot in teaching me how to embrace just like, sometimes it can be a lil scene, it doenst have to be a whole thing, you dont HAVE to create the surrounding world. and that in and of itself is a fun challenge in learning how to make something feel immersive even though it's essentially a snapshot of a nonexistent world. I say i've gotten better but yesterday i did start brainstorming another massive longfic so like. we out here

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? i try to avoid it unless i'm really confident in my usage and the context, if i can get someone to triple check. i used a one-off sentence in spanish in another fic and it was v simple and the character himself wasn't fluent so like, i felt like i could get away with it. with mp100 i notice there's often times when certain things are referred to by their japanese names and that seems to be kind of the standard? so im experimenting with embracing that but it feels weird tbh. like should i put 'konbini' or just call it the corner store lol of course this isn't dialogue and is in the narrative itself so im not actually answering the question! oops

First fandom you wrote for? believe it or not ive only been writing fanfic for *checks ao3* 4ish years? altho i grew up as a fan of shows and had my faves and my ships i never actually participated in fandom spaces until good omens. The first fic i wrote was in 2018 (the only fic i wrote that year) and it was for the castlevania anime lol i'd been writing OG fic for years and years and years before that though

Favourite fic you've ever written? awgeez this is a tough one... i know Forever is the most popular by kudos but i think that has a lot to do with the time it was being posted (v early following the release of s1, a lot of hype) and it was my first major writing project in a long time as i'd taken a break from writing. so there's parts of it i'd def do differently now The god below is definitely up there in terms of one that i had a lot of fun with and sort of re-learned how to have fun with writing and just.. do what i want, because i want to. and that's okay! i love the world i created for that fic so much. surprisingly i was very insecure about it when writing it. i didnt think it was very good or that people would like it and its my second most popular fic, has been bound by two different people, and had a podfic like.. i did something right with that one and i think it was embracing the unknown and doing a thing (narrative, worldbuilding, plot twist) when the sole reason was 'cause i wanna' a fic i'm most proud of is probably Scar Tissue (good omens) it has MASSIVE cws for self-harm and drug abuse, and it's written for a fandom (Slow Show) WITHIN a fandom (good omens) so it's not going to make a lot of sense if you havent read slow show but.. god that fic was really, really personal and it has some of the best lines of narrative i think i've ever written Lonely and ramshackle heart (good omens) also ranks up there as one im really happy with because it gave me an opportunity to explore trauma in a way i wasn't really seeing done in fic. it is one of those unfinished WIPs i think about all the time though and i really hope to finish it

i'm also working on vampau (mp100) again and the worldbuilding for that is something i'm OBSESSED with and am having SO MUCH fun and i think its an example of me taking what i learned with TGB and my OG fic, in doing what i want and having fun with it, and really pushing that as far as i can while ALSO working really hard to make it feel real and grounded. idk if im succeeding, yall will have to tell me when it drops lol

forgive me for writing so much about tumblr but i have a lot of thoughts

here's the thing about tumblr. i've found it interesting how we continue to call our profiles our "blogs" even though they function differently to the common idea of a blog (like livejournal). but in a way, calling our profiles our blogs makes sense. they're our place to post things we've made or repost content we like. it's more personal than twitter, which has an "information" or "discourse" lens applied to it. the focus on twitter has increasingly been to encourage sharing of information (i.e news or opinions). tumblr's focus has always (afaict) been to encourage sharing of our creations, kinda lumping blogging in there as "self expression" or something to that effect. technically speaking, artists should be more at home on tumblr than on twitter.

but people using their blog as ONLY a blog (no reblogs, just their thoughts or creations - like a livejournal) are in the minority on this site, right? make no mistake, i follow tons of artists who use their blog in a very focused way, but mostly we're all reblogging other people's posts, putting their art on our blogs and riffing in the tags on people's jokes. it is very much a site of Content, Things To Share. the fact that we can blog on here almost feels oddly secondary. but, ok. tumblr is a site for people to post their creations/content, and said content finds an audience through being discovered or reblogged.

so why is it so damn hard to find anything?

like, ok, obviously we can do that. type words into the search bar and you will definitely find posts. but dont you often wonder why the hell some posts showed up in your search and others didnt?

you're telling me filtering searches by top posts of all time isnt showing me the post that has this exact string of text (+- punctuation), but is showing me posts that... have those words in them, scattered, and sometimes not even that exact word ("piss" vs "pissing")?

what about when you try to search for a word or phrase that you KNOW is on a blog in some post, but searching for it brings up NOTHING? i just had to deal with this when searching someone's blog for a specific post i had just seen on my dash - i can only imagine tumblr told me no such post existed because it wasnt tagged with that word.

and all of this feels so obviously wrong, right? even without tags, we should be able to search for words or phrases in a more reliable way on both the site and our blogs. i dont think im alone in the thought that the search function is almost useless - even if it gives me what im looking for sometimes, it can be a struggle, and mostly it just doesnt feel worth it. this is how we can keep ourselves in insular circles and struggle to break out of them. it is literally easier to do this than it is to find new shit.

so, yknow, staff isnt wrong when they say this:

tumblr does need growth, but not necessarily by attracting new users (though, idk, i wouldn't mind that). tumblr needs internal growth. this site is stuck in the early 2010s in a way that is baffling to me, and it has continuously failed to adapt to its userbase's needs in a way that honestly doesnt make sense, and when they do change something, it just ends up causing more strife between staff and users.

so, for example: tumblr needs money to keep functioning, obviously. the common practice is to have ads on the site. but oops, the ads suck and everyone hates them. ok, allow users the option to pay to get rid of ads. but oops, a lot of people dont want to give money to the site that continuously breaks itself (among many other complaints). ok, meet users in the middle and allow them to pay to advertise their stuff - this should be, like, the perfect mix of everything, right? being able to advertise your content on the content site? but oops, this is only a good option because finding new content is so goddamn hard that random people shoving their posts onto your dash is the only remaining viable option. when you have to rely on pure chance/luck for your posts to even be found, even when you do everything in your power to increase their visibility, you're not gonna want to stay here.

i feel like addressing the search function should be the staff's top priority before they implement anything else. we need to be able to find content on the content site. i think thats pretty obvious. once it works the way it already should have, then they can worry about what comes after. i think people feel this animosity with staff because we're struggling to continue to use this site while they struggle to find ways to get money out of us. i think if people felt they could actually use tumblr in the way it intuitively feels like it should be used, that kind of animosity would be more rare*. but until we get that, any change to the site is going to feel wrong.

fwiw though, i'm glad to see staff say that the site basically doesn't work. like. goddamn. took them long enough. i just hope (probably baselessly) that their acknowledgement of this issue will lead to some fixes that benefit the foundational usage of the site.

*yes, there is animosity towards staff for other reasons - like, yknow, how innocuous selfies of trans women get flagged as "mature" (among other things) - but that's an issue of culture/enforcement and not necessarily the raw function of the site, so i feel like it's best suited for a different post

tl:dr PLEASE FIX THE FUCKING SEARCH FUNCTION, IT NEVER SHOULD'VE BEEN ALLOWED TO BE THIS BAD AND I THINK ITS ISSUES HAVE BEEN A MAJOR REASON FOR TUMBLR'S STEADY DECLINE

For the tags thing, I'm not going to tag my drawings as "incest" for a simple reason: I think it's disrespectful (if you go to my main, you'll notice how I stopped using it). When I had problems, I searched in the incest tag and I still do believe that the tag should be used to discuss traumas, IRL situations, and similar. Don't want to put my very triggering stuff where people go to find solutions, discussions, help, etc, that's why I'm using the fictional/fandom equivalent to it, because, this way, only people who search for it (for coping/shipping reasons) can see it. I KNOW there are many people using the tag to post ship art, not going to be one of them.

ummm what else. i really liked miguel he has such an interesting worldview and the canon events and how miles has always BEEN an anomaly and everything regarding the narrative as this thing that Will Happen and Has To Happen and how everyone sort of reacts to that differently was so COOL bc i really love those sorts of stories lol.

speaking of the whole canon event stuff and how miles saved the guy who was supposed to die and everyone was so HAPPY and then yknow gwen is there fully aware miles ruined everything and yeah. yeah. but also like. miles is SPIDERMAN. he could save a person so he DID and what else was he supposed to do....

HOBIE i loved him i loved how he helps miles how he just is like 'yeah i quit' and peaces out i loved how they animated him. i mean the entire animation style slapped obviously lol i also really liked how colors were bleeding into each other in gwens universe!!! THE SCENE WHERE GWEN TALKS TO MILES'S PARENTS IN HIS HOUSE i liked that. i liked a lot of the parent stuff a lot it just Hits. yknow. (<- is literally not a parent)

THE ENDING TOOOO like holy shit i cannot wait to learn more about other miles ok!!! the way the two of them both lost a different person....uncle or dad....GOD. and gwen and the group to help miles and how hobie's dimension travel watches are more messy vs the 'cleaner' look of the official ones....

back in high school? yeesh that was like 13 years ago. I guess it was geography. it was rather political and we had a great teacher who was trying desperately to get the kids to be less racist and more curious about the world i did like a lot of the criminal law courses that i did in uni bc they were taught in a rather critical way. like, we went through an awful lot of analyses on what even is the purpose of criminal laws and the convoluted ways in which they are shaped, the inherent corruption of the police and how the process is as much part of the punishment as the nominal sentence. i realised that i didnt really want to practice in that area because, yknow, its actually peoples lives on the line, but learning about it was good

Dream Job?

sometimes, i really want to cook. ive made burgers a couple times at home and the process of getting everything all ready for the final quick cook and assemble is rather nice. dunno if i would want to work as a cook considering what a job like that actually involves.

funnily enough, i did quite like my last job. like, it was the sort of law where i was almost a bureaucrat so it was not particularly combative and i was knowledgeable and it was a nice way to help people in an area that was low stakes but still important to them. like, i would like to abolish private property but in the world we currently live in, conveyancing aint that bad of a thing to do.

idk what else to say abt it but like. i kinda always half read tags & summaries espwcialy when its like late fpr me so i kinda was like went into it with not much idea abt what was going on but immediately i was like oh etho dead? cleo coming for funeral? and then i was like oh maybe etho has been dead for a while and i like that a lot of theings were just so ambigious and idk if this was like meant to be implied but it was kinda like etho death accident. or on pupouse. yknow. and thw small details of like bdubs not knowing what cleo liked anymore bc like. hes still stuck there in the past with this old idealised version of her. back wen things were 'good' (they werent good but he thinks theyre better than now but also nostaligia is a bitch) god i just. uagh. and then bdubs & joel having sex abt it all. sad people who r greiving finding comfort in each other in not a great way. but theyre greiving. - tfz (i like how i said i didnt know what else to say abt it and then said all. that. jdbsjd its late i ramble easily when its late)

The ambiguity was so intentional. Why elaborate when that person is supposed to (used to) know everything about you? They know all the codes and everything. They don't but you think they should. They dont care enough to tell you they dont know. AND THE IDEALIZED VERSION VS. THE REAL IS MY SHIT!! Bdubs thinks his thoughts in confidence but then cleo just doesnt line up and and and he's starting to doubt how right he is but he refuses to be in the wrong so he just shuts it down. The bdubs and joel one night stand was not in the original plot and it occurred to me and it was just so genius and oh my gosh i love this story so much!!

The bracelets mean so much to me. Not many people notice them and I didn't overuse their metaphor. But! The bracelets are friendship bracelets from a long time ago. Now, it isnt logical for bdubs' to have lasted this long but suspension of disbelief and all that. Cleo cut hers off, she intentionally rid herself of them. I think I mentioned that? Ethos fell off, slipped over his hand one day (i didn't mention this) (this is both a metaphor for his self destructive addictions and habits/deteriorating health and for how bdubs and cleo slipped out of his life). and bdubs' are still on his wrist, frayed and faded, but still there. He refuses to get rid of them just as he refuses to let go of the versions he's half remembering mostly creating of them. It's just such a detail to me that i get the perk of knowing from being the author!!

ALSO!! The last chapter!! It's just so fucking mundane. It needed to be mundane. This isn't a big story about anything dramatic, it's just a story of reckless teens who turned into adults with issues and the repercussions of self destructive behaviors. They're just living, it's just a week in the life. Even if it was a really bad week. It wouldn't have made sense if I were to give it a big ending, or a fix it ending, but the ending still hurts because nothing changed. But it's essential that nothing changed. i am tearing it apart!!

SO TO CATCH YALL UP SINCE I DIDNT DO IT FROM THE START

i have started watching ordem paranormal (portuguese horror ttrpg actual play) after staring at it for about 2 months going 'i should watch you' but not being able to. i have figured out how to get myself to sit and read subtitles for hours at a time and ive decided that my trade off to actually pace myself with the story instead of bingeing it is crochet during it! because i tend to loose track of time while watching interesting things and while crocheting; i figured a good way to keep track and to pace myself is to tie the activities together! and i figured after finishing season 1 that maybe i should document it as i go so i know how long certain projects took and! keep a collection of my reactions to AOP. so with that preamble done time to catch yall up on the projects ive made so far and where abouts in the story i finished them! obviously. this means there are spoilers but i dont think anyone here really cares about AOP spoilers.

SEASON 1

so first off! surprise surprise i made another beanie and its a pattern ive done before! this piece took me the first 2 episodes of season 1 to complete so about 9 hours went into this hat!

at this point i was really loving the entire cast. the world is fascinating to me as ive played in a campaign with a similar concept so the hook was very very easy for me to get invested in the stakes and all the characters. at this point liz was my favorite, gotta love a queen in stem<3

SECOND PROJECT

i decided at this point to start doing new patterns because i may or may not have a bit of a hoard on ravelry of patterns i like but dont have yarn picked out for yet. AND i have a lot of yarn with no projects planned for yet. which is also a big factor in why i tied these activities together! because if i want to watch more AOP i have to make decisions and actually use my yarn instead of hoarding it waiting for the perfect project that doesnt exist.

so i made slippers! ive never made slippers and had to frog one of them about 4 times to figure out what was off with the pattern and ended up figuring it out and even with all those frogs the total time for both slippers was about 2 hours or the first half of the final episode of season 1!

the stress was starting to creep in about the finale! the whole gang were gearing up for the final confrontation and the first Proper Proper combat of the series! i was worried about my little guys because i knew going in that the series was not going to be a forgiving one. at this point daniel was shifting to being my favorite little guy. its hard to pick favorites because i genuine love all the characters from season 1 equally but he was my interesting little guy. i love a weird author type character who goes from writing about the paranormal as pure fiction to learning Hey Its Real.... Do Something About It. hes soooooooooooooo, to me, yknow?

SEASON 2

i then started my third project! i was halfway through the project when season 1 ended and i was not having a good time. my sweet sweet boys daniel and alex were dead. and i got glassy eyed when daniel died because he was becoming my blorbo. and then he was ripped away quite literally. m still not over him dying but man m happy luba came up with a great second concept because i am. in love with joui. i can Feel him taking over my brain and blorbo thoughts and ive only had him for 2 hours. i am so sorry for who i am going to become when i allow myself to tag crawl properly and just go Ham with the reblogs assuming theres an active fandom on here. BUT ANYWAYS THIRD PROJECT

i made this tarot pouch! i think m gonna be using it to hold one of my character journal projects that uses this specific tarot deck! i got to try new things like colorwork! m very comfortable switch colors to start new rounds but doing colorwork Inside a piece for 2 stitches and then dropping has always been intimidating but i figured id give it a try because the worst that could happen is it looks weird! i also! tried doubling up yarn! i needed bulky weight and the only bulky weight i have is the accent color so i was very brave and took two identical skeins of worsted and just doubled the yarn so itd be bulky and Prayed that the colors would blend well because even though same dye lot their starting ends were at different points in the pattern and honestly i think the color and the marbling came out beautifully.

this is a pattern m really tempted to do again and modify with changing the emblem from a moon to another simple shape or even downsizing the yarn to just be worsted so i can have smaller of these roll ups because i really like it and am tempted to try and make one thats like a switch pouch in the future! OH AND STORY POINT WHERE I FINISHED THIS was 2 hours into the first episode of season 1 when the new gang was breaking into uh rafaels house? the initial dead guys house. i love the season 2 crew so much. liz and thaigo coming back warmed my heart, joui is taking over my brain, and i am Loving the dynamic between cesar and cris. i wanna know what went through calango and luis' heads when they were making characters and went "we should be a complicated father son duo" m obsessed with all the new dynamics emerging from the larger group AND all the characters being here from the get go.

and! ive started project 4 already! but that will get a post when ive finished it! i think its gonna turn out cool but time shall tell!

and then i say Passively Learning a language because. i am actively learning spanish BUT because ive been listening to so much portuguese i am slowly absorbing what some words and phrases mean which is fun! every day i am tempted to switch my duolingo course to portuguese because its the language i interact with way more. but i am not yet because maybe with enough spanish i can bullshit my way thru understanding BR-PT, since i dont have an interest in speaking just understanding (this is def not fueled by the vowel sounds being intimidating to me, not at all)

i Love spamton x readers where spamtons in like. an unconventional form, like hes a virus in your computer or he gets isekaid into your world as a living doll

That being said: in the "spamton lives in your computer" stories, reader downloads him accidentally or out of pity but What If they were a youtuber who talked about computer worms and viruses and downloaded him On Purpose in a virtual machine to showcase him

they narrate everything he does while screen recording like "oh see, its trying to access my microphone now. this is why you have to be careful about what programs you run, im using a vm so it should be contained and cant get into my actual files" and spamtons like "wtf. wtf"

little desktop spamton contained in the virtual machine while reader makes videos on him bc they and their audience think hes neat. they compliment his complexity and how much hes seemingly able to do, not knowing hes a whole little guy in there and not just a random computer virus

while leshy kinda has shut-in vibes i feel like like hes actually more the type to Never be home!! if you wanna challenge him you have to go find him in the woods and hes like up in a tree taking regular pictures of all the animals he sees (inscrybing everything would not be good for the ecosystem)

follow up he likes to think outside.. got like a huge rock he chills on where he brainstorms stuff for his games.. the Thinking Rock

probably bathes in a river or waterfall tbh. he doesnt need soap the sheer force of the water is enough to cleanse him

the fact that p03 has a mechanic where bot cards can have beast forms implies he doesnt hate them :) he feels positively enough to add them to his cards at least!!

although he can display pretty much anything he wants on his monitor, it still takes him considerable effort to hide his expressions! accidentally showing his smile only to immediately switch back to neutral like "you didnt see that"

being good friends with him would obviously include lots of playful + affectionate bullying but also the occasional sappy moment where he will either respond equally as sappy and/or threaten to kill you bc hes overwhelmed with the kindness

grimora treats her ghouls very well and visiting her is always a delight! the type to not let you leave without giving you a gift of some kind, be it a nice meal or a new pack of cards

she always tells the ghosts and ghouls they died bc they have to know at some point, but she makes sure to be gentle about it and is ready for whatever reaction they may have

yknow what! i think shed think p03s technology is cool!! all the scrybes feel a little old fashioned but shes quite interested in the modern stuff even if she isnt used to it or doesnt really understand it, but she tries!

itd be really funny if his eyes see color differently so to him hes making these really gorgeous masterpieces but everyone else sees the colors normally and its just an awful awful mess. imagine if he sees things really bright and almost neon so everything he paints ends up being incredibly dull and slightly the wrong color

forever thinking about how hunter specifically said belos Found him. that he didnt think he would make it in the boiling isles bc of his lack of magic. the Implications guys,,, either belos didnt raise hunter from birth/creation Or grimwalkers can be made with false memories

cuz its like! that implies hunter had some kind of life before belos, whether it was real or a memory he implanted and i need to know what happened before belos, even if its just what hunter thinks happened

what if ingo and emmet had a shared pokemon version of instagram account for posting pictures they take of various trains and like. its not exactly Secret but theres nothing that really ties it to them bc its just about The Trains

but one day part of one of their shoes and like the edge of their coat is ever so slightly in frame and it goes viral bc this random little inconspicuous train fan account was actually run by the Subway Bosses of the Unova Battle Subway, 2 quite powerful and well known trainers in the region. and of course the internet would lose their minds over something like that

they wake up with like millions more followers and tons of comments like "I NEVER KNEW THIS ACCOUNT EXISTED??" and "thats. ingos shoe. he and emmet are the only people in the world who wear shoes like that"

ingos like "how did they all find out it was us??" and emmets reading the comments and says "ah, you were just barely in frame in this photo. thats how they identified us" and then they do nothing about it. they never speak about it publicly they just keep posting their train photos and ignoring dms
