Yeah, I know... They're a lot haha. As you can see, I haven't draw them much... I'm still redesigning and creating some of them so, so far, I mostly just have half body references? And some information and facts on a private document and lots of notes... My OCs life is as messy as mine as you can tell ahaha

Man I love Kestrel so much

She is one of the best OCs I have.

She was raised in a temple dedicated to gaslight orphaned, distressed kids into paladins, clerics and warlocks, champions of Gods and Goddesses. The belief was that before coming of age every kid would receive a sign, a prophecy of some sort. They would be chosen to serve a certain deity and would dedicate their lives for servitude. However, as powerful as Kestrel's magical abilities were and as bright sorcerer she was, no God ever claimed her. No amount of pleads, threaths, shouting, training or crying would make a difference.

The monks believed something was profoundly wrong with her, that she was cursed and would bring disfortune to the temple, so they disowned her and threw her out. Even after that she tried to pray for a miracle, even to the cruel and evil forces. She lived on the streets seeking her purpose, until she grew bitter and started to loathe every God and everyone following them. She refused to look upon the statues, shrines or relics. No God would ever deserve her services.

After she finally started to accept that everything she ever lived for was false and not going to happen, she found herself working at different jobs, at Baldurs Mouth, Book Vendor, even Elfsong Tavern, soothing her bitterness with wine, books and learning new spells.

Getting infected by the mindflayer tadpole turned her life around and threw her among a bunch of strange people. She despised the majority as she got to know her new companions. It was difficult for her to come out of her shell when so many of the people were tightly knit into a religion or a purpose - of which she was incredibly jealous.

She found working with Gale to be easiest, so she stuck by his side, carefully avoiding any talk of religion until it wad inevitable – Eventually she got to know Gale, his orb and relation with the Goddess of Magic, and it filled her with even more rage. Denying the Gods was not enough, she needed to defy.

Gale's complex relation with his Goddess was something that broke her in many ways. Fairly quickly she realised she was falling hard for the wizard, as their friendship grew closer and fates intertwined even more.

She knew needed to save him, and oh, how she wanted make him happy, but how could she ever compare to a Goddess in any way?

Let me introduce you to brainrot- I mean, Zeltzin, my god of war OC! I've been working on her story for a couple of months now, ever since the Ragnarök game was released and I'm so excited and happy with it and with how long I've been continuing it, I thought about sharing more about it and her more...

Her story is being posted on both Archive of Our Own and Wattpad under the name of The cӨurse of the sea by Miss Disfortune

Also, the last drawing is cause the Zeltzin x Sindri ship dynamic is inspired on Milo's and Kida's from Atlantis

A long while ago, I came with the idea of a project where two of my OCs/sonas would talk about topics and reflections I have and interest me... It all started with the question about Cuphead's and Mugman's age lol (which, if you're interested, will be the next talk I share!)

And so it became a thing cause I love me some nerd ranting... Now that I have tumblr, I thought about sharing my posts here too! They'd be similar to the chat I did about Sindri's and Zeltzin's braids but with drawings... My bestie called it a "drawn podcast" (said bestie is @oddcabinboy )

The symbolism I use (PT.1)

Since I'm almost done with the second part (to Al's dismay), thought it'd be a good time to share the first one here! Introducing two of my One Piece OCs

Though I don't remember exactly why or how, I've always liked the symbolism (magical and spiritual mostly) behind colors and designs so I started using it. After studying it in college and applying it into my characters, it became sort of my thing, you know? So here's a bit about how I use details and symbolism on my characters, topic suggested by @oddcabinboy

Sindri's and Zeltzin's braids

I love to overlook and find/add symbolism to everything I can so I have both a theory about Sindri's beard braids and an explanation for Zeltzin's... THIS POST WILL HAVE SPOILERS, NOT ONLY FOR RAGNARÖK BUT FOR ZELTZIN'S STORY

This are my own conclusions, idk if it's on purpose, canon or even related to it... Still, a friend said it might be a good idea to share them so here we are!

Let's start with Sindri:

During the GoW 2018 game, Sindri has 2 neat braids on his beard, tightly, hold by a strong knot, steady, at first slightly separated but coming together as you progress in the game. Each braid stands for one of the Huldra Brothers. One for Brok, one for Sindri

Now, on the Ragnarök game, Sindri's braid changes. Turning into one, though with 3 strands, perhaps to represent Sindri, Brok and Atreus... Despite everything, it's just one braid.

Finally, after the game events the braid gets loose, bent not straight anymore, switching, tangled in itself at times... Representing how Sindri can't stand by himself, how he's swifting between moods during his grief, a grief that left him limping and... "loose", not "tight" anymore

With Zeltzin, something similar happens. Her two braids represent her and her sister. Not knowing of her past, who she was nor being sure of anything she's lived but her sister and her company, that's why only half of her head is braided. Leaving her incomplete, with the other half of her messy, loose and without control
