Brow Lamination: Your Key to Picture-Perfect Brows, Available Now!
In the ever-evolving world of beauty trends, there's one technique that's been making waves for its ability to transform eyebrows from ordinary to extraordinary: brow lamination. If you're tired of spending hours filling in sparse brows or struggling to tame unruly hairs, brow lamination could be the game-changer you've been waiting for. With its promise of picture-perfect brows that stay in place all day long, it's no wonder why this technique has become a favorite among beauty enthusiasts everywhere.
So, what exactly is brow lamination? In simple terms, it's a semi-permanent treatment that helps to reshape and redefine the eyebrows by straightening and lifting the brow hairs. This process involves applying a specially formulated solution to the brows, which helps to relax the hair follicles and allows the brow hairs to be molded into the desired shape. The brows are then carefully brushed into place and set with a nourishing serum to ensure they stay sleek and defined.
One of the biggest benefits of brow lamination is its ability to create the illusion of fuller, thicker brows without the need for makeup or microblading. By straightening the hairs and lifting them upwards, brow lamination can instantly give the appearance of more volume and definition, making sparse brows look fuller and more uniform. This makes it an ideal solution for anyone with naturally thin or overplucked brows who wants to achieve a more sculpted look without the hassle of daily maintenance.
Another major advantage of brow lamination is its long-lasting results. Unlike traditional eyebrow grooming methods like waxing or threading, which require regular upkeep, brow lamination can last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks with proper care. This means you can wake up every morning with perfectly groomed brows and spend less time fussing over them throughout the day. Plus, because brow lamination is a semi-permanent treatment, you have the flexibility to change up your brow shape or style as desired without any permanent commitments.
But perhaps the best part about brow lamination is how versatile it is. Whether you prefer a natural, feathery look or a more dramatic, sculpted arch, brow lamination can be customized to suit your individual preferences. Your brow technician will work with you to determine the best shape and style for your face shape and features, ensuring you leave the salon feeling confident and camera-ready.
Now, you may be wondering where you can experience the magic of brow lamination for yourself. Luckily, this revolutionary beauty treatment is more accessible than ever, with many salons and beauty clinics now offering brow lamination services. Additionally, there are also at-home brow lamination kits available for those who prefer to DIY. These kits typically include everything you need to achieve salon-quality results from the comfort of your own home, including the lamination solution, setting serum, and applicator tools.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a quick and easy way to achieve picture-perfect brows that last, look no further than brow lamination. With its ability to create fuller, thicker brows and its long-lasting results, it's no wonder why this technique has become a must-have beauty treatment for anyone looking to up their brow game. So why wait? Discover the transformative power of brow lamination today and unlock the secret to flawless brows, available now!

Eyebrow Tinting Toowoomba
The journey to fuller brows doesn’t need to be complicated: from trusty pencils to brow-growing serums, there are a lot of products on the market that can give you a better-looking arch. But if you’re ready for something that requires less effort and upkeep—and lasts longer than your standard eyebrow pencil—then it might be time to try tinting your brows.
A popular beauty service that can last up to six weeks, eyebrow tinting Toowoomba dyes the brow hairs, making them darker and creating a more uniform look. It’s a semi-permanent treatment that’s a great alternative to filling in your brows with an eyebrow pencil, and it can also help to enhance their natural shape.
Tinting the brows can take the pressure off of having to use a pencil to fill them in every day, and it can make a big difference in how your face looks. It can also eliminate the need for any brow makeup, cutting your morning routine in half and making you feel more confident in your own skin.
You should avoid getting your brows wet for 12 hours after the treatment, and avoid oil-based facial cleansers as these can fade the tint. You should also avoid exfoliating your brow area, as this can cause the dye to fade more quickly. Using a brow gel afterward can help the color stay in place, and we love Milk Makeup’s Kush Brow Gel ($20).
Eyebrow tinting is typically done by an experienced stylist at a salon, but you can also buy DIY kits that contain all the tools, formulas, and step-by-step instructions to get the job done yourself. However, if you’re considering doing it yourself, it’s important to be careful: eyebrows are close to the eyes and can easily be burned or irritated by the wrong product.
It’s also important to know that eyebrow tinting is different from microblading, which injects pigment into the brow skin via a tattoo technique. While both services can give you a more defined look, tinting simply colors the hairs while microblading adds pigment to the skin.
While both treatments are effective, tinting can be a more cost-effective option for most people, as you can purchase a box of the dye at any drugstore and have it on hand for whenever you need to refresh your brows.
If you’re interested in trying a maintenance-free alternative to your daily brow makeup, you can book an appointment at The Lash Lounge in Cedar Park. Our lash and brow experts can match the shade of your eyebrows to your hair and skin tone, giving you a naturally-looking result. Plus, our mobile app makes it easy to rebook whenever your brows are starting to fade.
Lavya Hair Design are your first choice for a Hairdresser in Toowoomba for modern hair cuts, crisp clean hair colours and naturally nourished hair.
Visit our brand new salon in Toowoomba Plaza near Kmart, where you can relax in style and be pampered whilst enjoying our affordable hair package deals.

How Long Does Brow Lamination Last
Brow lamination is a beauty treatment that I didn’t know I needed. But was it? Since I was a child, my brows have had a mind of their own. They grow in all directions, like siblings who drift apart with age. They didn’t look the same as my Instagram-worthy brows, no matter how often I tried to brush them or apply brow gel. They are the ones that adorn models created by Nikki Wolff. Even though I had done microblading and bought tin soap brows, my eyebrows didn’t have the Je sais quoi.
Wolff did my makeup last year, and although it looked amazing, I couldn’t wash it off. My brows didn’t look as good as the ones she is famous for creating. What was it that they had that I didn’t? In my search for truth, I found brow lamination. I am here to share my firsthand experience with the procedure. Nina Nubian, Melanie Marris, and I teamed up to help.
Nubian informed me that brow-strapping had been a popular trend in recent years. She said that Russian and Iranian women have been doing this for many years. It makes perfect sense. Given the results–natural-looking, fuller brows that last–I only wish I had found out about the treatment sooner. Marris says this procedure is ideal for making a thin eyebrow appear fuller in 30 minutes.
How To Laminate Eyebrows
It’s safe to do a patch test before the actual procedure. This will allow you to check for any allergies or sensitive skin. Both Brow Code and Nurian Brow Experts are vegan-friendly, so there are very few risks if you choose a careful and knowledgeable professional. To avoid irritation, you should also avoid using retinoids for at least two nights before your treatment. Remember that your brows can’t be wet for more than 24 hours. Schedule your brow lamination appointment, so you don’t have to shower or exercise.
What to Expect During a Brow Laminate Treatment
The entire process takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on how many patches you have. Nubian began by cleaning my eyebrows and drawing the shape she wanted for my brows. To get an initial condition, she threaded any loose hairs.
She then shaped my hair with a tool and solution. After applying the straightening lotion, the hairs are flattened with a clear wrap and left to dry for 30 minutes. This lotion helps to open the hair follicles and shape the brows. The cream must be removed after the prescribed time.
Next, apply the setting lotion. This is sprayed on and left to dry for eight minutes. Because the first lotion was a bit harsh, she used a hydrating oil serum. Nubian also tinted my eyebrows to give them a fuller look.
Brow Lamination or Microblading?
Marris claims that people mistake microblading for lamination because it is so impressive. Marris says that “these are completely different treatments” and that brow lamination looks excellent on a microblade brow.
Both micro feathering and microblading involve needles. Marris says that microblading tattoos hair strokes on the eyebrows to create the appearance of more hair strokes. Lamination, however, allows the hair to relax and sit in any style you desire, whether full-feathered or straightened. Brow lamination is an affordable and temporary way to achieve your desired brow look. It’s also faster.
At Home Brow Lamination
I love the look of a laminated brow. I was a fan for years, but this was my first attempt. I liked the more refined finish of the browser.
Home brow lamination is done using the same kit and bonders. It’s straightforward and fast. This is a cheaper option and a great alternative if you have to stay home. Marris says DIY brow lamination is safe, provided the correct protocols and guidelines are followed. She also recommends the user conduct an allergy patch test before applying the brows.
Possible Side Effects
Although the vegan formula is gentle, it can irritate your eyes. Marris says, “Don’t use it if you have ever had an allergic reaction to perming solutions or sensitivity to any ingredients in brow-lamination products.” You may also experience some reddening from the threading.
It is similar to a flashlight or a hair perm that curls lashes. This method has been around for many decades. She warns that you should avoid the eyes like any other product.
Brow Lamination Price
Brow Lifts at Nurian Brow Experts cost EUR55 or around $65. Brow lamination can be found at Brow Bar London in the UK or Ear Design in New York.
Aftercare
Your brow lamination results will last between five and eight weeks, depending on how long your hair grows. Nubian suggests that you only have the treatment once every eight weeks if you have thick hair. However, if you have fine hair, you should wait for it to heal for at least ten weeks. Nubian says that before applying treatment, we always ensure the brow hairs are strong enough. Nubian also explained that the therapy could coax your eyebrow hairs to grow in the desired direction. You’ll eventually be able to prolong the time between treatments because the whole treatment increases hair growth.

DIY Caster Oil Eyebrow Serum
“The star ingredient in most hair growth serums? Castor oil.
Its concentration of ricinoleic acid balances the skin’s and scalp’s pH to foster better hair growth. The fatty acids and vitamin E in castor oil strengthen the hair root to help prevent hair loss.”

Overall Tips:
•The best beauty products are literally at the beauty supply store. This is where I get the best lashes and gloss. Aliexpress also has amazing faux mink lashes.
•Always have a solid morning and night routine.
•Wash your pillowcase. All types of dead skin, oil, sweat, residue from hair products etc is living on your pillowcase. Washing your pillowcase helps you avoid acne. Wash your pillowcase and sheets.
•Don’t touch your face, it’s just gross and you put all types of funk on your skin. Don’t touch your pimples either.
•Clean your phone screen and phone case regularly.
•Drink water from a reusable bottle or mason jar and eat cleaner.
•Stop doing DIY skincare treatments off of Pinterest to get rid of your problems...estheticians everywhere are sobbing everytime you put a whole ass lemon on your face.
•Birth control eliminates hormonal acne, at least for me it did.
-> Use natural/organic tampons and pads.
•Only exfoliate 2-3 times per week or your skin will hate you.
•Get at least 8 hours of sleep.
•Let your vagina breathe don’t wear underwear when you go to sleep.
•Don’t ever put soap INSIDE your vagina. They have a natural odor but shouldn’t be absolutely musty. Make sure you have a washcloth to wash the folds. Lift the hood and remove the dead skin with a washcloth.
•Clean your makeup brushes regularly. *downward*
•Your beauty blender is useless if you do not dampen it first.
•Spray your setting spray from arms length distance.
•Apply primer and/or moisturizer before your foundation.
•Don’t let anyone rush you. Blend, blend, blend. You want to look flawless not cakey and discolored.
•Pick a blush shade that compliments your skin tone.
•Knowing your undertones makes a difference in makeup.
•Never sleep with makeup on...your skin should be squeaky clean and bare. Remove with an oil, preferably olive. Then wash your face. Remove stubborn lipstick with Vaseline.
•Be sure to replace your mascaras and eyeliners. You should not be using the same expired mascara the entire year. These are your eyes so take care.
•Swishing coconut oil before brushing can work for whitening. Hydrogen peroxide with equal parts water can also work for whitening. For a high end product invest in Crest 3D White Strips.
•Above all, don’t check for toxic people and know your worth. 💗

Effortless beauty gets a whole new meaning
You might not yet have heard of the term skinimalism, but chances are you’ve carelessly been seeing it all over your beauty feed or in beauty trends since 2020 as things go. Skinimalism is the new wave of skin makeover that focuses on natural skin, minimal makeup, and more often than not, it’s dewy AF. Beauty trends in 2021 are all about skin that *actually* looks like skin – probably all thanks to more and more people focusing on skincare as self-care in 2020 Because of Covid. So, Get ready to say Goodbye to heavy editing and welcome real skin in all its glory. And which means freckles, pores, texture, and everything else real skin means. And that’s why we are buzzing about such more beauty trends. Well, after a year of staying at home wearing less makeup, paired with a consistent skincare regimen, our skin is looking better than ever and it’s time to show it off. Enter stage for Glowing skin. So, make way for lightweight moisturizing formulas, tinted serums, better SPF, and daily application. When it comes to skincare, we’ll see an inflow of antioxidant-supercharged serums, glow-getting ingredients, and hydrating, skin-plumping moisturizers. Before you start to panic, this doesn’t mean the days of untamed eye makeup and bold lipstick have also died. In fact, we’re going to see a rise in bold makeup that looks paired with skinny minimalism, since we’re having better skin after this lockdown. Plus, skinimalism is in, but you carry on following your skincare routine when it comes to your look! Just take your glowing better skin and put a little moisturizer and a tint on your lips and you’re good to go. If you’re in need of some inspiration, check out most of the celebrities who post the pictures with their Glowing skin. Fresh start. Spring is a great time for a fresh start. It’s a lot like New Year, a new start, but with warm, non-dry weather. One way to prepare for the upcoming season? Start incorporating spring 2021 skincare trends into your beauty routine trends. After the truly deafening year 2020, I think it’s safe to say that we’re all e ager for a beauty do-over. Alas, even our beauty routines weren’t immune to the effects of 2020—as salons closed everywhere, we were forced to become our own hairstylists, colorists, estheticians, and dermatologists overnight. But a few bad box dyes and many DIY face masks later, we learned to absorb into a largely at-home beauty culture. As we mastered the massage, root touch-up, and brow grooming, we learned about the purifying power of self-care and came out stronger than ever. Skinimalism– New Trend                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             One pandemic later, the no-makeup look is back. Marrying good skincare and minimal makeup, it’s what Pinterest is considering the “new glow-up.” According to Pinterest’s 2021 Trends forecasting report, people are surrendering a complicated makeup routine to enfold slow beauty and let their natural skin texture shine through (think glowy skin and visible freckles). Clean and transparent – skincare                                                                                                                                                                                                            Surveys have indicated that skincare brands flaunting ingredient transparency are gaining popularity. Consumers want to know what’s in their products, and legally so. This added pressure has caused companies to guide towards more ‘sustainable formulas’, whether via packaging, formulations, or reducing its carbon footprint. And that’s why people are more aware of natural products. And they know what they actually need for their skin. If they have pimples or open pores which product they want. Now people can analyze what their skin needs after the age of 20s or 30s or 40s. Which ingredients are good for anti-aging, wrinkles, and dull skin. Plant-based skincare – Essential With some of the most popular and most searched ingredients being bakuchiol (retinol), Gotu kola (Brahmi, herbaceous), ginger, and witch hazel flowers, plant-based skincare is expected to hit a major surge in 2021. “Until recently, plant-based skincare was considered niche,” says Dr. Farhang. “With an increase in eco-conscious consumers as in environment-friendly, many mass brands are introducing plant-based products.”

How to Help Your Eyelash Grow - No Falsies Required
Are you insecure about your short eyelashes even after trying out a lot of ways to make them longer? Chill, girl. There is something you might want to know first before trying out another way to make your eyelash grow.
There are possible reasons according to dermatologists why eyelashes are short or getting short. It has something to do with the products that you might be using often such as mascara or medicated eye drops which makes your eyelash become brittle and fragile causing it to break or fall out. Another reason is you might be rubbing your eyes frequently where your lashes are getting pulled out prematurely.
Now that you know what you might be doing with your eyelashes and why they are short, let’s now talk about how to make them grow with no falsies required.
Helping your eyelashes to grow strong and long
There are a lot of ways on how you can make your eyelashes grow and that doesn’t always include falsies. These are some DIY hacks that will help you achieve your dream eyelashes without spending so much on ineffective ways:
Olive oil
Olive oils are said to be effective in helping eyelashes improve their strength and length as they contain natural fatty acids that moisturizes and softens the eyelashes.
Vitamin E oil
This has been used by famous beauty vloggers as it promotes stronger and more moiturized eyelashes. Some people prefer to mix it with castor oil or coconut oil.
Comb your eyalahes
If you haven’t done this before, then maybe now is the time. Combing your eyelashes will help it not only to appear longer but also to promote growth.
Use Eyelash Serums
This is the one of the most recommended ways to grow eyelashes naturally. Eyelash serums are made effective by peptides and biotin that promotes hair growth. And guess what, they are also safe to use for your eyebrows.
There are a lot of brands right now where you can get lash growth serums, however, not all brands can stand their claims. Some are just saying they are the best even if they are not effective or they are leaving some side effects because of what they contain.
Bondi Lash + Brow Lab has formulated the best eyelash and eyebrow growth serums that will never disappoint you!
It is made paraben and sulfate free , 100% vegan, cruelty free and non toxic. Plus it doesn’t contain prostaglandin (found in many other eyelash serums) that may cause skin pigmentation and discoloration.
All the best is what Bondi Lash + Brow Lab wants for you so look no further, when it comes to the best eyelash and eyebrow growth serums, you know the place to go.

Omegaverse-
Self-Care & Makeup
(This is my first headcanon list! I wanted my first to be for @omegaverse-council for their Omegaverse day, even if it is a little early. Feel free to reblog and add anything you want, or let me know what I can fix/change!!)
Tumblr media
Alphas-
General/Without Mate
Alphas hate using things with scents, so they usually get stuff that smells like generic “ocean spray” and “fresh”
They wash their face with a cheap cleanser and quickly lotion up before running out the door in the morning
Drugstore skincare and makeup, even when they can afford better
Prefers to shower at night
Alphas tend to have acne anywhere but the face
Alphas use physical exfoliants once every two weeks
They are great with drinking water, eating healthy, and exercising (almost to an extreme)
Absolute Minimal makeup (brows, concealer, chapstick)
Combination skin that actually needs minimal effort
General/With Mate
With a mate, an Alpha takes better care of themselves
Mates will buy them special bath bombs and lotions to take care of their Alpha when the Alpha is stressed (the lotion is for massages ;) )
Mates also help match scents that go well with their Alpha’s natural scent (it's a lot of woodsy and warm scents)
Mate- “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE NEVER USED A FACE MASK?!?”
Self-Care Sundays ( w/ face masks )
Mates doing their Alpha’s makeup
Omegas who make their Alpha do their makeup during their heat because nothing gets them going more than their Alpha in a bold red lip
Betas who make Alphas wear matching makeup as a way to claim them
Alphas dragging their mate to the gym
Alphas realizing there are too many other Alphas at the gym so they work out with their mate at home
Alphas start using their mate’s products because their mate has been away and they want to smell them somehow
Special/Not General
Alphas who love sweets scents despite it masking their own
Alphas deliberately masking their own scents (maybe they don’t like the smell of their own scent too much, or they don’t identify as an Alpha so they mask the scent)
Alphas who LOVE skincare and LOVE doing traditionally Beta or Omega things, like Spa days, going to Makeup stores
Alpha. Makeup. Bloggers. (The confidence! The bold looks!! )
Alphas who take more time taking care of themselves than their Omegas do
Alphas who don’t do makeup at all
Male Alphas who care for their beards and hair like it’s a religion
Female Alphas who feel the same about their hair, but also with their eyebrows
Tumblr media
Betas-
General/Without Mate
Betas are the best at looking good with minimal effort
Five-minute makeup royalty
They love brands in-between drugstore and luxury
Basic bed hair and dewy skin
Betas tend to have dry skin
Bath and Body Works Lotion Collection
Since their scents are usually tame or subtle, they love emphasizing their scents (fruity Beta scent?all fruity products )
Eczema. They usually have eczema.
Or Rosacea
Toners and serums for days
Please give them hydration they need it
Lots of water drinking, average amount of eating healthy and exercising
More into mental health self care
Don’t ever touch their journal
They prefer to shower in the morning
General/With Mate
Betas will sometimes get embarrassed about their scent when dating an omega, so they start wearing scents that matches an Alpha
Omegas will tell them to stop immediately
They do the same with Alphas, but it is less often
Beta couples who share scented lotions and perfumes
Bubble baths with their mate mean a lot to Betas
Bullet journaling dates with a million different gel pens
Doing Six-step face skincare together with soft jazz playing in the background
Betas get embarrassed by their eczema and rosacea
Omega partners are good at helping Betas with their skin
Special/Not General
Betas who only care about and do their nails. Just their nails.
Betas who love essential oils cuz they smell good
Betas who are hairdressers
The best at cutting and buzzing hair
Omegas and Alphas love Betas in the beauty industry because they don’t care if they are traditionally Omegas or Alphas
Betas who make their own skincare brands for other betas for their dry skin
Mates who help with the business
Alphas getting help from Betas because they have no clue what to get their Omega
Tumblr media
Omegas
General/Without Mate
Omegas love taking care of themselves
They have oily skin, so acne care is the most important
Full beats or dewy minimal makeup- there is no in-between
Let them have their 103-step skincare sessions
Omegas never leave the house without something on their face
They love scents that can make theirs even sweeter than they actually are
Luxury brands are their kryptonite
They know they don’t need that gloss, but they just can’t. Help. Themselves. (Literally me)
Bad acne days lead to them not even going outside
They love masks you can sleep in
Invites betas and other omegas over to do DIY skincare treatments
Nests right next to their makeup vanities
Or their makeup kits in their nests
Takes a shower whenever they feel “icky,” which can go up to three times a day
Hate exercise, but love water and eating healthy (except during heats. Please feed them chocolates and ice cream)
General/With Mate
Their poor mate
They are going to be makeup testers
Omegas bring their mate along to pick skincare and scents to make sure they please their mate
Alphas prefer no scents at all, so they aren’t allowed to do anything with scents during ruts
Alphas will buy their fav lipstick or blush to apologize after their rut
Mates don’t care about an omega with acne or acne scars. They will still kiss every inch of their face.
Betas love gifting their omegas products they made themselves
Betas will also teach their Omegas to meditate and journal
Special/Not General
Omegas who hate sweet scents
Omegas who don’t care at all about skincare and makeup
Omegas who start candle and cologne companies, with the scents matching alphas to help other omegas through heats
Omegas who make great masseuses
Male omegas who secretly mask their omega scent, and then keep a stash of all of their self care in their closets for use when they don’t need to go out that day
Omegas who get annoyed at how long it takes for their Alpha to get ready
Gymrat omegas who are absolutely ripped
Omegas who can’t afford luxury brands and totally rock the hell out of drugstore like it’s Fenty

How did you make the Jack and Deegan pop figures? I've been wating to make a Cait one for a while, and yours look super cool!
Thank you so much! I dabbled in custom dolls/faceups in years prior, so I had a lot of the supplies I needed already on hand. But a good model-grade sealant spray like Testors and some acrylic paints are a good start! And they don't even have to be fancy? I honestly like the look of the craft acrylics you can get in the plastic tubes 🤷‍♀️ But it's entirely up to you ♥️
Jack was pretty easy to make; the Twelfth Doctor pop was a fantastic base for him. I just changed his sonic Screwdriver into a vial of serum 😂 Sprayed him with a couple coats of sealant to give the figure some tooth for the paint to stick to. He was mostly just a repaint. The little blush on his cheeks was made with chalk a chalk pastel I applied much like you would real blush. The only things I had to make for him were his tie and the plunger on the end of his serum vial, and for those I used sculpey and painted them the same way.
Much of Edward's process was the same, paint-wise at least. I used the combat-armor wearing male vault dweller as the base. I removed the head and the left arm and replaced them with the blank ones from the DiY male, which mostly involved an xacto/hobby knife and boiling the DiY to soften it first, and some good glue (I used something akin to E6000). I painted his body first since I knew the head would be a different beast entirely.
His hat was pilfered from a Chubbs (Happy Gilmore) figure, and ended up being a much easier process than expected. I boiled Chubbs and cut off his hat, fully expecting to have to cut Edward's blank head and splice them together, but Chubbs's newsboy cap actually fit right down over the DiY head like a real hat, which was a very happy coincidence for me 😂 I used some Apoxie Sculpt to add some features to Edward's face (like the nose and the grumpy brows, etc), and then painted it all. Once his head was finished, I glued it all together and sealed it one last time.
It can be challenging, but it's also a lot of fun, and pretty satisfying in the end ♥️ If you decide to take that leap, feel free to message me if you have any questions or want some advice ☺️

You were in the notes on that post about makeup/doctored selfie culture ruining childhoods and said it's great to keep makeup "for later"... just gotta ask, with the industry being how it is, why keep it at all? Diy facepainting, where looking young, pretty white and rich isn't the goal, sure. Where it's not feeding the beast sized industry selling shit like "your lashes are sparse and that's bad" behind a veneer of positivity ("for just $8 get full lashes!")
Thank you for asking this question. For adding more nuance to a topic that I feel passionately about, and for making me feel heard. I am thankful for your curiosity about this subject.
Why “save for later”? I think makeup should only be used when you’re mature. This is for two main reasons. I have an actual reason past the first two paragraphs if you’d like to skip that and get to the meat and bones of why I wrote what I wrote.
The first is that kids can’t differentiate good and bad attention. When they garner praise, attention, and differential treatment, they can’t evaluate if the attention is given lovingly and genuinely, or if it’s predatory. The knee-jerk reaction that most of us have toward child-pageantry is for this reason exactly. To doll kids up in mid-riff baring shirts, mini-skirts, tight clothing, and heavy make-up is disgusting to a majority of us because these items are heavily associated with grown women. While heavily feminine, this femininity serves to be sexually attractive, and I think it’s the core of why child pageantry is criminal. While some may argue that children should have the freedom to choose what they do with their physical appearance and hobbies, I think it’s important for parents to discourage it early on. It’s important to let kids express themselves, but they should do so healthily. The same reason that we aren’t allowed to get tattoos because we’d have a nice Barney tattoo on our left temple or Big Bird on our right calf, we should discourage kids from changing how they look so that society will accept them with heavy make-up. This last point may seem ridiculous, but please read on to my next point, the second reason why I think makeup should be saved for “later”
I think early use of makeup shapes worldviews. At such an impressionable age, kids will quickly learn to associate their physical appearance with incentive. When kids learn that you can enhance your features to fit a certain “way” they should look, they’re going to make a very strong association between the two and shape their behavior and worldviews around that. Granted, it’s not in stone, but let’s be real. There is a socially acceptable way to look which changes every decade, but nevertheless is formulaic in some ways. I can include pictures in the reblog about 2015-2020’s physical trends to explore this more.
Though makeup application can take incredible skill to achieve, it’s instantly gratifying and changes how others perceive them. While cultivating interests, talents, hobbies, or educational pursuits takes time, effort, dedication, perseverance, experience of failure, and so on, makeup can be “empowering” in that you can change your physical appearance and directly benefit from a few hour’s application. I strongly believe that some women have (non-gender related) dysphoria and apply make up because they have issues with how they present. Eyebags, acne, discoloration, unruly facial hair—that’s all natural. What the beauty industry perseveres to do is to erase that and place the onus on women to “compete” to be perfect or perish, unseen. What’s worse, women are already self-conscious about how they look, and makeup is an accessible tool for girls to succumb to the societal pressures for physical perfection. If kids learn from a young age that they will receive preferential treatment, affection, attention with how they look, they are more likely to derive their self-worth from that, when they are capable of so much more.
Here’s the actual reason I said it should be “saved for later”, though. I don’t actually think it should be saved for later. I actually just straight up do not believe in the makeup industry. I mean, I know it exists, but I don’t think it should. So to the OP anon, you and I are in complete agreement. I don’t care for libfems to come to me saying “Oh, so you think makeup is just a tool to look sexually attractive? So it’s not a skill? So you don’t think SOME women do it for fun, and for themselves?” and to be honest, it’s also a monolith of an industry. I don’t think there will be enough women who want to give up control over their appearance, and I don’t think men, who tend to be visually driven, will understand the power of sexual appeal that makeup gives. [See, and if further requested, screenshots of “catfish makeup” videos on YouTube. It’s a funny title, but at the end of the day, all I see are women who change their appearance so drastically from what they originally look like, that the “catfish” implies their chances with men/women are far better off with makeup than without. No, I don’t have a stick up my asshole. These videos are entertaining and I think these women are sweet, funny, and sometimes intelligent. I do think that my point IS being made when you think youre a 3, but with lashes, blush, tone corrector, foundation, contour, lip color, brow fill, cheek filler, brow filler, eyeshadow, eye liner, and so on and so forth, you’re a 10. Instead of a gross, stinky zombie,  you’re suddenly a normal, nice, appealing human being. And that’s not a healthy viewpoint to have about your body, but that’s just my opinion. In an instagram-saturated world, we are already so incentivized by quantifiable markers of popularity: likes, retweets, reblogs. It’s obvious the currency for social capital strongly lies in physical appearance (for everyone, not just women).]
There’s been a tumblr post going around that says “I don’t think we should be able to look at ourselves, except in our reflections in bodies of water” and I fully ascribe to that. I don’t think makeup should be saved for later. I do wish people were fine just walking around looking like ourselves, liking each other for who we are. But we are visual, biological organisms. And maybe makeup levels the playing field. After all, not all men are born like the young Tom Cruise (and many of those who are don’t seem to develop a personality or sense of humor to compensate), and not all women are born to look like Kylie Jenner or Gigi Hadid (those who are earnest to point out Eurocentric-based beauty, see what filters do to you, and why most girls use snapchat filters. Slimmer nose bridge, smaller nose bulb, paler complexion, thinner faces, larger eyes, and rosier cheeks. Don’t blame me, blame society.). In the end, though, the rich will buy all the serums, injections, creams, pigments, and facial reconstructions they want, and I stay checking ponds to see if I still look hideous without help. I think you are, too, anon. I think you are too. And maybe we’re better off.

Sooo 2019 started off with letting me know the irrational fear of #glitter lashes does exist. I’m over here having the time of my life with a chunky holo lash and covered brows and people are all “if you like this and wear this I hate you” thnk u, bb..ILY 2 💕🤧 1. If you use the right glue, nothing will fall into your eye. I used @litcosmetics Forever Wear adhesives. 10000% Rock solid & completely waterproof once dry. 2. This is cosmetic grade, rounded edge-cut glitter from @litcosmetics ..not glass-filled craft and nail glitters. 3. I have been wearing, at my own risk & without being asked or paid to, these glitters all over my face for like 8 years and I have never lost eyesight, scratched my corneas, got infections, idk whatever else you can dream of- It ain’t happen. I have however had my eyes swell shut and goop for 2 weeks after 1 application of a lash growth serum before.. 🤔 4. Sabrina Carpenter Skin Care
A. Sabrina Carpenter on DIY Facials, Soap Brows, and Perfectly Precise Eyeliner
All products presented at Vogue are selected independently by our editors. However, if you purchase something through our retail links, we may receive an affiliate commission.
“Oh God, gracious! Where do we start? “Sabrina Carpenter says with a smile as she examines her beauty arsenal. Today, the 21-year-old singer and actress leads Vogue through her exaggerated routine, which every morning is not covered by a three-digit cream or high-end device. technology starts, but simply with ice: “Wake up, I like to make a small facial ice cube”, she says about her reliable DIY hack, which can be used anytime, anywhere.
“When I was 15, I really started to dedicate myself to skin care,” explains the star of the next Netflix movie, Work It. He remembers a particularly traumatic allergic reaction to a metal base she left with eczema . “Since then, being able to have a routine has been very therapeutic”, she adds, calling products like a dr. Jart out. Renée Rouleau’s spotted cleanser (“because she’s a young girl with angry hormones”); an invigorating peppermint essential oil wrapped around your neck and wrists; and Sol de Janeiro’s sweet-smelling Brazilian butt cream. “You should put it on your ass, but I like to put it on your neck,” she says. “It smells like heaven.”
“There were days when I didn’t have much to do and I just walk into the kitchen with all my makeup on … just to feel alive today,” said Carpenter, who was quarantined at her mother’s house, Has. she says as she dives into her vanity case, which has changed “a lot” over the years since she started painting her face for dance nights as a child. “All I need is a quick Google search to find some of my worst red carpet decisions in life. Many of them happened when I was trying to be more experimental with a smoky black eye …” After she now mixed Tom Ford’s Foundation Stay with the Creme de Clé de Peau Foundation – “these are just colored pencils for big girls”, she jokes – she prefers soap sheets for brushed eyebrows and a perfectly accurate cat’s eye.
She also pays special attention to the pout, which starts with a toothbrush and reinforces with a brushed bronzer on the edges of the lips. “It looks a little fuller,” she says of her professional trick, which continues with eyeliner and lipstick – but almost never with shine. “I’m the type of singer who likes to eat my microphone,” she says laughing, before adding. “I learned my lesson and stick to monotonous products that I know will remain silent.” After Carpenter sneezes Margiela’s eau de parfum at the fireplace and lets go of her hair, she’s all set: “It’s a great look for a night on the town … which I won’t be doing anytime soon,” she continues. ”
  B. 24 Hours with Sabrina Carpenter
What are you doing on a big prize day? For music star and former Disney character Sabrina Carpenter, preparation for the ceremony includes a serious skin care routine, a calming routine and a ton of tea. We spent the day with the 18-year-old girl as she prepared for the American Music Awards two weeks ago.
Carpenter’s pre-AMA diet included some fresh lemons that she chose for a nice cup of hot tea. Her skin care routine included a quick peel with Renée Rouleau’s Triple Peeling Berry Smoothing “for a brilliant shine,” she advised. To relax, the Girl Meets World star took a candlelit shower and played vinyls like Beatles’ Love Songs.
After examining the hangers, Carpenter opted for his look for the evening: a Missoni and Casadei plaid dress with high boots. A pair of gold earrings protruded from behind her loose blond waves, which she saved in half an hour. Her smoky pink makeup look by Allan Avendaño was kindly provided by Revlon.
With the finishing touches, some kisses from his dog and an epic hair clip in slow motion, Capenter was ready to go. Although she was not nominated for any awards that night, she stepped on the red carpet and on stage as a winner.
