Warning: Really long story ahead 🥲
Shi had been struggling recently. After figuring out about Aqua being engaged, she was heart broken. She knew she had waited too long, they had been friends for quite a few years for her not to say something.
But she didn’t. And she regretted that.
It’s been a few years since that incident and her mental wellness wasn’t doing well either. All the thoughts in her mind just cycle like a carousel.
“I wasn’t good enough.”
“She won’t have to be your friend now.”
“Why would you ever think she’s like you?”
“Idiot.”
“Stupid.”
“Naive.”
All over these thoughts just came and went, but wouldn’t leave her alone. She couldn’t concentrate on anything.
Her mother couldn’t care less either, she didn’t even come to make sure she was okay or was eating.
Which she wasn’t.
Shi hadn’t eaten for the past week at this point. She was doing fine with eating after the incident, in fact, she was eating very well. But now….
Meanwhile, Aqua was sitting at her desk doing work. She went to grab a pencil, but then saw a small slip of paper hiding.
She tilted her head a bit and pulled it out.
“To Aqua”
She recognized the handwriting instantly, snapping her eyes open.
It was the letter Shi had dropped that day.
She looked at the envelope, then looked around to see if her husband or kids were watching. She slid her finger under the flap to open the seal. She gently took the paper from inside out and began to read it.
“Dear Aqua,
I know it has been a while, but I can’t stop thinking about you. You are my only friend I have ever had, but the best one. I know this probably is really weird to read, but I have never done this before. I really like you, Aqua. I know you really like this Acero guy and that you guys are dating and all, but that doesn’t stop the fact that I really like you Aqua. I love you. I’m sorry it’s taken so long to say, I just didn’t want to ruin anything between us.
– Shi”
Aqua was…dumbfounded. She had never expected her best friend to have a crush on her.
But then it all made sense. All those times she saw Shi looking at her. When Shi’s mom had told her, “You aren’t as pretty as Shi described you.” It all added up now.
She stares down at the letter in her hands with the envelope still in the other. She really liked Shi, but not in that way. She had only ever seen Shi as a friend. And her best friend has a crush on her.
“That’s why she gets so quiet and irritated when I talk about Acero and the kids…” Aqua whispers to herself. She rests her head on her hand, her eyes not leaving the neatly handwritten words. “I have to talk to her…”
She gets up from the desk and grabs her phone off her nightstand. She pulls up her texts, but then pauses. “Will she even answer…?” She bites her lip. “Maybe it would be safer to see her in person…? But what if she doesn’t want to talk to me…”
In the end, Aqua decided to go visit Shi. After saying goodbye to her husband and kids first of course. She kisses her older daughter on the forehead and picks up her young son, giving him kisses too.
“Where did you say you were going again?” Acero, her husband, had asked her.
“I’m going to see Shi –” before she could finish, Acero had already seemed a bit irritated. And it was quite noticeable. “What?”
“It’s just…don’t you ever realize how…rude she is?” Aqua shakes her head. “Really?”
Aqua only shakes her head again. “No, I-I mean, she isn’t the sweetest person I’ve met…but she isn’t…as bad as she used to be…”
“So she was rude?” Acero raises an eyebrow. Aqua was about to speak, but then closed her mouth. “Why are you even dealing with her? She’s not even a great friend, you two fight every time you see each other.”
He did have a point. Aqua looked to the ground, thinking about it. The last times they had seen each other, they ended with them walking away. “S-she was the first real friend I had in a long time…”
“Yeah, but that was years ago,” Acero explains to her. “People change, and friendships change too.”
Aqua was really confused. “What do you even have against Shi? She never did anything to you.” Aqua was sick of hearing this, from both Shi and Acero. There was obviously something she was unaware of going on.
“Shi’s just…” Acero begins to think about how to phrase this in a nicer way. “She doesn’t know how to be a good friend, when there is a problem, she just tries to push it or them away. She never tries to talk anything out, which creates a bigger fight. It’s unhealthy for you Aqua.”
Even though fighting with Shi hurt so much, the thought of leaving Shi hurt like a knife to her throat. “I-I can’t…she’s still my friend…a-and I’m sure she wouldn’t want to give that up either…” Aqua doesn’t take her eyes off the ground.
“And how are you sure of that?” Acero says, crossing his arms. “Aqua, I’m just looking out for you.”
Aqua didn’t want to share the letter with Acero, so she tries to make something up. “I-I’m her only friend Acero…if I were her, I’d rather fight to keep a friend than to lose the only one…and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
Aqua had made it to Shi’s mom’s place, taking a breath before knocking gently on the door. Acantha, Shi’s mother, opens the door. “Hello?” She looks Aqua up and down, speaking in a judgmental tone. “Oh, Aqua.”
Aqua sees her glances. “What? Why do you say it like that?”
Acantha looks her up and down again. “Nothing, I’m assuming you’re looking for Shi?” She leans against the door frame and crosses her arms.
Aqua nods. “Yes, could I talk to her? Please.”
“She’s moved out,” she stands up straight. “I can give you her address.”
Aqua could not help but smile. All she ever heard Shi complain about is having to live with her mom. Since Aqua knew how Acantha was treating Shi, she was so happy that her friend was finally free. “Yes please.”
Acantha goes inside the house, leaving Aqua outside, still beaming. She then comes back out with a slip of paper and hands it to her. “There you go.”
“Thank you,” Aqua says, taking a glance at the paper. “Have a good day.”
Acantha only rolls her eyes, closing the door behind her after walking back into the house. Aqua looks at the paper again before heading to Shi’s new place.
After driving for a few hours, she finds Shi’s new place. It isn’t big or anything, but it’s her own place away from her mom, so it’s doable.
Aqua walks up the stairs to her deck. She takes a deep breath before holding it and knocking on the door. She breathes out after knocking the wood and hearing footsteps. The door opens and Aqua is in complete shock.
For sure it was Shi standing there, but it…wasn’t her.
Her long, luxurious deep blue hair was gone. Though it was still dark blue, it didn’t even reach her neck. It was shaved on all the sides under the ear and over it was all a mess. She could tell she did it herself, and that she wasn’t mentally well when it happened. She was also wearing a lot of makeup, especially glitter eyeshadow and lip gloss. But her eyes were the same, with a different expression than her normal ‘done with life’ expression.
Resentment.
“Shi…” Aqua could see her expression and looked down to not make eye contact. Her body was a lot skinnier and she has been working out a bit, and is noticeable. What else is a noticeable change is Shi’s clothes. From her usual tank top or t-shirt and leggings, to a tube top that only covers the necessities basically and a mini jean skirt.
Shi only glares at her, but has a calm expression at the same time. “What do you want? How’d you even get my address?” Aqua had never heard so much hatred in Shi’s voice before.
“Y-your mother gave it to me…” Aqua is shocked by all that has changed about her best friend. She thought she knew who she was, but now she doesn’t know. “I came to visit you…”
Shi forces a chuckle with a roll of her eyes. “About time. Took you only, what? Ten years?” She glares at her subtly still.
This felt like a gunshot to her heart. She felt her stomach drop when the chuckle came out. “Shi, I’m sorry for not coming to see you, it’s just –”
“No,” Shi interrupted. “There shouldn’t be any reasonable way that you couldn’t have come to visit me in ten years. I would have come to visit, but my mom didn’t let me.” Her face looks of anger…and betrayal.
“Shi, I was just too busy! I have a kingdom to look after and kids now and my husband –” Aqua begins to quickly try and explain, before being cut off again.
“Of course you are, ten years you couldn’t find ANY free time,” Shi’s voice is cold. “You’re unbelievable.”
Aqua didn’t know what to say to that. Why didn’t she understand that she wanted to come visit? That she tried? That she cared? “Shi, I really tried, there was just too much going on with the kingdom and my family! Trust me, I’ve tried! I’ve wanted to see you again! Shi, I’ve missed you!”
Shi’s glare is still stiff and cold. “Goodbye Aqua.”
Shi goes to close the door, making Aqua panic a bit. “I read your letter!” Aqua is a bit shocked those words came out of her mouth, but she needed Shi to listen.
And it seemed to have worked, because Shi stopped suddenly and her expression was as if her face would turn white in shock or fear. “W-what letter?” Her eyes were glued to the ground before speaking, so Aqua couldn’t see the frightened expression in her eyes till she looked up a little.
Aqua reaches into her handbag before handing her the letter. “That letter,” Shi scanned through the words quickly before going completely pale. Both stood there in complete silence before Aqua decided to break the silence. “H-how long have you felt this for…?”
Shi was silent, just staring down at the letter. “S-since we met…” Her voice was still cold, but scared at the same time.
“Really?” Aqua’s eyes widened a bit in shock. “W-why didn’t you tell me?”
Shi stares blankly still at the letter before shaking her head and bringing her old expression back of stiffness and gentle glare. “Because I knew you were with Acero. My mom told me I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t need to mess around with our friendship that was already in jeopardy.”
“Shi…” Aqua shakes her head. “You have to stop listening to your mother, you know she isn’t looking out for you…”
“Yeah, never would have guessed,” Shi rolls her eyes, still glaring at Aqua. “All you ever cared about was Acero. He is all you would talk about. You come to visit just to talk to me about your freaking amazing freaking life, while I’m here suffering!!”
Aqua had seen Shi upset before, but never this upset…and at her. She feels her eyes watering. “Shi…I…” She can’t find the right words to say.
Shi only shakes her head. “I knew I waited too long to tell you. That day we got together. I was going to tell you. But then you told me you were engaged…” Shi grits her teeth, still seeming to hold a grudge from that day. “You’ve always favored him. Well what about me? I was your first friend, you are my ONLY friend and you abandoned me with my pathetic excuse for a mother!!!”
Aqua just blankly stared at Shi, no words existing in her head except two.
I’m sorry. And she knew that wouldn’t cut it.
Shi sees her blank expression and gets more upset. “I’m done taking this type of stuff from you. I’m done.”
Shi goes to close the door once again. Aqua didn’t want to stop her this time, but a few words managed to slip out quietly as she muttered to herself. “Acero was right…”
Yet again, Shi stopped herself, but looked pissed. “What did Acero say?”
“All you ever do is push your problems away, you never try to talk it out. Your mom, me, especially Acero! What even happened with you and Acero!!?” Aqua didn’t realize she was raising her voice and getting upset.
“You want to know? Huh?” Shi opens the door a bit more to look at Aqua’s emerald eyes of rage. “He is all I hear about, and do you KNOW how much that is a slap to my face!!? I loved you Aqua, and he took you away!!! He hated me because I would take you away from him!!! So now he makes sure you stay away from me!”
“I’m trying to fight for our friendship and you aren’t helping this be ANY easier!!! You’re just a horrible friend!!!” Aqua yells at Shi in frustration.
This hurts Shi. Hard. She had never had Aqua yell at her. “W-well I’m trying!!” Shi is trying to fight off her tears. “I never had anyone to teach me any of this stuff!! I don’t know how to deal with my problems, I don’t know how to be a good friend, I don’t know how to be a good person for god’s sake!!! Because no one was ever there to teach me!”
Aqua notices tears in Shi’s eyes, but her rage is too strong right now. “And why did you never tell me!!? Every time I’m a ‘problem’, you brush me off!!! “
“I didn’t want to make you hate me more than you already did!!” Shi yelled back tears now streaming down her face and can barely speak anymore. Her makeup is running down her cheeks and all her mascara and eyeliner is smeared. “I’m trying!! I-I’m just not good enough Aqua!!! Why can’t you understand I’m doing all I can!!!?”
She then breaks down. Her sobs are louder, though she is trying to stay quiet. Shi cups her face with hands so Aqua can’t watch. This snaps Aqua out of her fit of rage. She just stands there and watches Shi in shock and guilt.
After a minute, Shi can feel two warm arms wrap around her as she sobs louder. Aqua hugs her tightly, letting tears of her own fall as well. Aqua realized how much of a mess Shi is right now…
Her hair, her makeup, her trying to be tough attitude…she was trying to be a person others wanted her to be. Her mother never taught her how to be like…like a person. So she’s trying to be one of her own, one she doesn’t want to be.
After a few minutes of standing like this, Aqua brings Shi inside and on the couch as Shi still sobs, but quietly now. Aqua makes sure to still hold her close. She felt so bad for her words. She wasn’t a bad friend, she just didn’t know how to be a good one. This adult had never been taught how to live outside of her mother’s house. This adult had only ever had Aqua as a friend, and support, and had already graduated junior year of high school when they met. She had not had a friend for her whole first part of her life.
After Shi finally calmed down, she didn’t look up and wiped her eyes. Her hands were covered in emerald glitter eyeshadow and concealer, also having it all smeared over her face. “I-I’m sorry…” She says in a quiet, quivery voice.
“No,” Aqua said in a quiet voice. “I’m the one to apologize, I didn’t realize…how you must have felt…”
The two were silent for a bit before Aqua spoke again. “Can I ask you a question?” Shi only gives a nod with her mouth shut. “What made you love me…?”
Shi was very quiet and looked down, Aqua’s arms still around her. “E-everything…” She finally says in a quiet voice.
“Everything?” Aqua seemed a bit surprised.
“Everything, everything about you is so…perfect…even when it isn't, to me it’s perfect…” Shi still didn’t look up to make eye contact. “I also have a question.”
Aqua looks down at Shi, wiping Shi’s eyes to get the makeup off that was messed up. “What is it?”
Shi pauses before speaking. “Why do you keep coming back? You say I’m a bad friend, then why do you keep coming back. It’s not like I’m your only friend anymore, you have Acero and…what are your kid’s name?
Aqua smiles at the mention of her sweet babies. “Shell and Hunter.”
“You have two of them?” Shi asked. Aqua nods before Shi continues. “Well, you have them, you don’t need me…why do you stick around…?”
Aqua thinks for a minute about what she said. She speaks in a quiet and soothing voice. “Because you are my friend, that means I care about you. You need people in your life that actually care. Not that stupid, stupid mother of yours.” Shi looks down at the mention on her mother, but Aqua lifts her chin up. “Hey, I’m proud of you for finally moving out. That’s the first step to a new and better life for you,” She offers a small smile.
Shi doesn’t smile back though. “I hate that woman…”
“And you have a right to,” Aqua tells her, making sure to keep Shi close. “That woman has done nothing to deserve your love.”
Shi does smile very slightly to this, seeming that she has calmed down a bit now. “Thanks Aqua…” She leans against Aqua a bit more, her eyes tearing up a bit again. “Y-you’re a great friend…”
Aqua smiles at Shi untensing herself. She puts hand on the side of her friend’s head and holds her tightly. “Of course, that’s what friends do.”
Shi smiles, but then her smile fades again. “I just wish I knew how to be a better friend to you…you deserve so much better…” She looks down at her legs again. “I feel like everyone else’s parents taught them how to be a good person…but me…”
Before she can begin to sob again, Aqua gives her a gentle squeeze and makes Shi look up at her. “Hey, you can be a good person, you just never had the right people to teach you,” she smiles slightly more. “And I know who can help with that.”
“Who?” Shi asks, her eyes are filled with tears. And hope.
“Me,” Aqua smiles fully. “I can help you.”
Shi looks up with a surprised expression. She was silent for a minute in a stunned state. “...you’d do that…? For me…?”
Aqua hugs her tightly again. “Of course! You deserve to change the way your mother taught you to think.”
Shi is silent again, but then smiles and hugs Aqua tightly. For the first time in years. Aqua was really shocked, only had having Shi hug her once or twice in all the years they have known each other. Aqua tears up and hugs her back tightly.
The two hug for a while, Shi had never received a hug from anyone else but Aqua. So she was used to Aqua’s warm hugs. But this one was…different. It felt…
Safe.

#ripflorianschneider the last time I saw Kraftwerk was when they closed the main stage on the Saturday night at @bluedotfestival 2018. Florian was not with them then of course (he left the group in 2008) but much of the body of work I know and love them for was recorded and completed with him on synths and vocals. I remember buying the 12” of Tour De France from HMV on Market Street in Manchester. It cost £1.99 and I bought with my paper round money. Kraftwerk is one of the formative foundation stones to my music tastes and collection. This clip makes me happy and sad and optimistic all at the same time. We will dance (and watch the Tour de France and any other sporting event) together again in the open air. . . . . . . . . #ripflorianschneider #kraftwerk #djstory #musicalinfluence #teenage #electronicmusic #bluedotfestival2018 #vinylcollection #forwomenwhorock #quarantinefeels #tourdefrance (at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_2_gDTg3Z4/?igshid=1w7wi3vva6lsh

Perfectly Imperfect
Chapter 1
Anica, a twenty year old woman, was walking down the sidewalk next to the road. She wore a purple dress that matched nicely with her long, dirty blonde hair that flowed down her back like a waterfall.
She was walking as she accidentally caught her high heels on a crack in the sidewalk. She shut her eyes, knowing what may happen.
She gasped as she felt an impact. Though she wasn’t hurt in any way, shape, or form. She opened her eyes to realize she had landed on a mattress two people were moving.
Though many would be relieved they hadn’t gotten hurt, Anica wasn’t. Instead, she sighed. This was her life, in her perfect little world. She dreaded everything being so perfect, she couldn’t stand it.
She got back up. “Miss, are you okay?” One of the guys moving the mattress asked.
“What do you think? Has anyone ever gotten hurt before?” She replied in polite fury before walking away.
When she returned home, she kicked off her heels and headed to the bathroom.
She looked in the mirror to see her stunning reflection. Her sleek hair flowing down her back with not a hair out of place. Her beautifully tanned sandy colored skin glowed in the lighting. Her makeup hadn’t been messed up at all and her dress didn’t have a single fold.
She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to mess it up, but nothing changed from her breathtaking look.
She sighed again. She didn’t want this anymore. From the minute she was born, her life felt like a dream. But that was the reality in her world. Nothing ever went wrong for anyone.
Ever.
She took off her earrings and used a makeup wipe to remove her makeup. She brushed her hair and pure white teeth before changing. Her pajamas consisted of a crop shirt that showed her six pack, she’d never tried for, and a pair of fleece shorts.
She walked to her bed and laid down with a sigh. She threw the covers over her before shutting her eyes so she could be well rested in the morning.
She had exams tomorrow for her college classes. Her grades were through the roof, you guessed it, All A+’s. She didn’t feel the slightest bit of stress. She didn’t even feel the need to rest or study, she knew she’d pass anyway.
The next morning, she woke up to the sound of her alarm set for 6 in the morning. She groaned as she got up to prepare for her ‘big day’.
She headed to her bathroom to use the toilet, brush her teeth, and do her hair. She looked in the mirror after using the toilet with a sigh. “I don’t even know why I do these things,” She muttered to herself while brushing her hair, which was still in the perfect condition as yesterday. “It’s not like my hair would knot or my teeth would go yellow.”
After curling her hair in small, perfect waves, she went to her closet to pick an outfit. She settled on a white crop top with pastel blue sweats. She threw a blue gray sweater over, which had brown buttons she didn’t bother to use, letting a sleeve hang off her shoulder.
She ate before leaving and grabbing her bag. She got in her car and drove to her college building, listening to music on the way. She walked into the building, knowing she was a minute or two late.
She walked into a large room, filled with students and a handful of teachers. One in the front was taking attendance. “Carla Soea?” He called out through the auditorium. He said every name with confidence, knowing he wouldn’t mispronounce anything.
“Here.”
“Iris Winfora?”
“Here.”
“Anica Adistle?”
Anica walked to the first open seat she could find and plopped her black bag on the ground. “Here.”
The teacher continued to call out names while Anica reached in her bag to grab a pencil.
After the teacher finished yelling his attendance, he explained how the exam would work. “Everyone bring your bags in the front, cheat sheets will be allowed on the test,” He announced with his booming voice.
Anica sighed before picking up her bag and nearly dragging the bag to the front where the teachers were taking bags.
Why would we even need cheat sheets? I asked myself. It’s not like we’ll have trouble passing. She returned to her seat to find a test and bubble sheet already there.
“Everyone, return to your seats and we will start the test at...” He looks at his watch. “8:40.” She taps her pencil as she waits for the others to sit.
“Alright, you may begin.” He announced before starting the timer.
2 hours later, the timer goes off.
“Stop! Time’s up,” The teacher who called attendance told them. “Put your pencils down and the teachers will collect your papers.”
Of course, like she expected, everyone finished their test.
Once the teachers had collected all the papers, one of the teachers taking tests made another announcement. “Okay student, you all did great. You can come get your backpacks.”
All the students flooded to the front of the room to collect their belongings. Anica waited for the tsunami to go down before going to get her bag.
She got in her car and drove through her city. She looked at all the tall buildings and the many many people walking down the street and sidewalks.
She turned the radio up and heard her channel had changed from classical to the news. “Another murder has been reported in the town of Shrusti-” She heard the news reporter say.
She parked into her driveway and got an idea.
Chapter 2
It was late at night now. The city was quiet and there was no one on the streets.
That is till a single car came down the street.
The car stopped in front of one of the tallest buildings in the city. Anica got out of the car and looked up at the building.
She took a deep breath before going through the door and walking up the stairs.
Her thoughts were telling her different things as if she was having an argument with herself.
Do it.
Don’t do it.
Why?
I don’t think it’s a good idea.
Why not?
She shook her head to attempt to stop her thoughts, though they wouldn’t shut up.
She got closer to the roof.
Stop, you’re making a mistake!
It’s for the best!
After a few minutes of walking up stairs, she made it to the top.
No! Stop!
She walked forward and looked off the edge.
NO! Don’t make her do this!
It’s the only way.
But-
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by the door behind her opening.
“Hello?” She could hear an older lady say from behind.
She turned around to see a woman, looking like in her sixties, wearing a coral pink dress. Her gray hair still had remaining brown streaks held back in a bun.
“Y-yes ma’am?” Anica asked, looking into the woman’s green eyes as the woman stared into Anica’s bright blue ones.
“What is a girl like you doing up here so late?” The older woman asked in a friendly tone.
Anica had to think before finally speaking. “I was looking at the stars,” She lied, looking up at the stars. “A great night for stargazing.”
The woman looks up. “It truly is. Which is why I came up here,” She said before sitting down in one of the chairs set up. “Come, take a seat.”
Anica hesitated for a moment before walking over and taking a seat.
Thank goodness.
Shit!
Anica tried to ignore the thoughts and looked at the sky. It really was a gorgeous night. The stars were clear and bright, contrasting with the dark blue and black sky.
“Have you learned to read the sky?” The woman asked.
“Excuse me?” Anica asked her, sitting forward a bit.
The woman didn’t move. “Constellations,” She simply replied.
Anica realized what she meant and replied, “Oh, no ma’am. Can you teach me?”
“No,” The woman told her.
“Why not?” Anica asked her politely.
“Because it’s not fair,” She said, which deeply confused Anica. “Because where does that leave the other stars?”
Anica blinked a few times. “What do you mean?”
“If the stars of Orion and the Big Dipper are known, why aren’t the other bizillion stars that fill the sky?” She asked her. “It’s like people. Every person counts, some people are more known than others, but every person has a different purpose of being here and alive.”
Anica leaned back again, not taking her eyes off the woman. “I-I guess…”
The two sat in silence for a while, just stargazing.
“It’s beautiful though, it really is,” The woman told her.
Anica nods. “It sure is.”
The woman went to get up a few minutes later. “I’m going to head off to bed, you should start heading to your place too.”
“Oh, I just want a few more minutes if that’s okay,” Anica told her.
The woman simply nods and walks back into the building.
Anica sat there, looking at the stars, thinking about what the older woman had said.
“Every person counts…”
Anica got up slowly, going back to the edge of the building, looking down at the empty street.
She sighs before stepping onto the ledge.
Don’t do this to yourself…
She has to, what’s her purpose anyway?
You heard what the woman said, “Every person counts”
Even taking all this into consideration, she doesn’t change her decision. She takes a deep breath, and her last breath.
She jumps off the ledge.
Anica feels the rush of wind as she comes closer to the street. She can’t tell when she’d end her life because she couldn’t see because of the pressure and the tears.
But soon enough, she feels an impact.
What she doesn’t know is that she didn’t land on the street, but instead fell through it, as if it were a cloud.
Anyone interested in hearing any more? (:3

Roxie was sleeping in bed with Trollex. She turned over to make her baby more comfortable.
She felt a lot more movement more recently, but the doctors said that’s normal when you get closer to your due date. But she still had about a week, so they said to just take it easy for the next couple of days.
Tonight was different though. There was so much movement that Roxie could barely stay asleep for an hour without waking up.
She woke up once again and placed a hand on her stomach and used her other hand to rub her eye. She slowly sat up and looked at the clock that read ‘11:16’.
Roxie sighed and looked down at her stomach. She rubbed her hand up and down her stomach, trying to calm her baby. Even though she was hurting, she couldn’t help but smile.
She felt small pains as the baby keeps moving, but tried to go back to sleep.
But then she suddenly felt a horrible pain in her stomach that was unlike any of the pains she’s felt through her whole pregnancy.
She holds her stomach in pain with one hand as she uses the other to sit up again. She uses the arms she sat up with to try and wake Trollex up. “Lexy…please wake up…” Roxie said quietly, both to not shock him awake and she couldn’t speak much louder because of the hurt she was feeling.
Trollex slowly blinked his eyes open and looked at Roxie in concern. “Babe, what’s wrong…?” He asked tiredly.
“I-I think it’s time…” Roxie said in a quiet panic, still holding her stomach. “I think the baby’s coming…”
Trollex sat up in shock. “Wait! But I thought you still had a week left.” Trollex questioned.
“Not according to them!” Roxie yelled, squinting her eyes shut in pain.
“W-what do you want me to do?” Trollex asked, panicked and shocked.
“We have to…head to the...hospital.” She responded.
“Okay, you should lay down for now though.” He said, lightly pushing her right shoulder to make her lay down.
Roxie nodded and laid down without resistance, resting her hands on her stomach, trying to breath steadily.
Trollex raced out of room, which was followed by talking that Roxie could barely hear. She was in too much pain to pay attention.
Trollex came back a minute or two later and swam to Roxie’s side of the bed. “Alright, you ready?” He asked.
Roxie looked at him and nodded. Trollex lended a hand to her to help her get up.
Roxie sat up and used one of her hands to grab Trollex’s, while her other hand remained on her stomach. Her ears were drooped down a bit and her body was shaking a bit in pain.
She squeezed his hand tightly and pulled herself up from the bed.
Trollex wrapped his other arm around Roxie’s waist, for extra support.
Roxie kept squeezing his hand tightly, but trying not to cut his circulation.
Trollex managed to get Roxie into the car, even though it took about five minute, they still did it. Trollex drove her to the hospital, which was fifteen minutes away.
Roxie just continued to try and breath. Trollex tried to comfort his wife, but it was difficult while he was driving.
They arrived and Trollex helped Roxie out of the car and in the hospital.
The nurse showed them to a room and Trollex helped Roxie get in the bed.
Roxie got settled and laid down while still holding Trollex’s hand. She had now started to sweat a bit from the pain.
“You’re doing great Babe.” Trollex said, wrapping his other hand around hers.
Roxie just looked at Trollex. “Yeah, thanks…but I’m not done just…yet.” She said, tearing from the amount of pain.
The doctors came in and got everything set up for her to lay the egg.
“How are you feeling?” Trollex asked.
Roxie just gave him a death glare. “What…do you…think?” She asked between breaths. Trollex flinched a bit, but he understood.
One of the doctors came over and felt her stomach. “They’re coming any minute now.” They said to the other doctors.
“You think!?” Roxie yelled, getting upset and squeezing Trollex’s hand a little tighter.
The midwife turned to Trollex. “Don’t worry, if she curses or any of that sort of stuff, it’s just the pain talking.” They said.
“Do you think you’re ready yet?” The doctor asked Roxie.
She nodded, squeezing Trollex’s hand harder.
“Just keep pushing after you start, alright?” They said, getting in position. “Start whenever you’re ready.”
“Well, I…don’t think…I’ll be more ready…than this…” Roxie said before as she let out a loud scream after giving a push.
~Two hours later~
Roxie gave one last push before the doctors told her she was done.
She was drenched in sweat and was trying to catch her breath.
Trollex’s hand was now bright red. He held the hand she squeezed with his other hand. “Dang...I didn’t know you knew that many curse words…”
Roxie just glared at him as a response.
One of the doctors turned to Trollex. “Just make sure she drinks water and doesn’t get out of bed for a while.”
“Wasn’t…planning on it…” Roxie said quietly from weakness, still huffing and puffing out of pain and exhaustion.
The doctors leave with the egg, leaving Roxie and Trollex alone.
Trollex gave Roxie a kiss on her head. “You did great Babe.” Trollex said, giving her a smile.
Roxie returned a weak smile. “Thanks…”
“How are you feeling now…?” Trollex asked, being a bit cautious because of her first reaction.
Roxie quietly giggled a bit at that. “Tired…tired and sore..” She said weakly.
“Why don’t you get some rest then? You look like you haven’t slept in days.” Trollex suggested.
Roxie just nodded with a small smile and closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep.
Trollex just looked at Roxie, smiling softly. He laid his back against the wall in his chair and tried to fall asleep as well.
~~~
The two were fast asleep (Trollex in a deeper sleep than Roxie) till the doctor came in the room.
The doctor came in while holding something that couldn’t be seen because of a blanket being wrapped around it.
The door opened, causing Roxie to blink her eyes open and looked at them.
“Sorry to wake you your Majesty, but I think you might want to be awake for this.” They said as they passed the object to her.
She took it and realized what it was. She held the object in the blanket she was handed closer to her.
It was a cerulean colored egg with an aquamarine gradient with a hot pink heart on it. At the top of the egg, there were short pieces of hair that went from yellow to lime green to aquamarine. The egg was wrapped in a light purple blanket to keep it warm.
But there was one other thing Roxie had noticed. A small, long crack on the side of the egg.
At this point, the doctor had gotten Trollex up as well and he swam over to the bed.
“Oh my gosh, they’re hatching!” Trollex yelled quietly, his eyes wide yet soft.
Roxie could feel the little troll inside pushing against the egg, trying to get free.
The doctors had told them in the maternity lessons not to mess with the hatching process, so they just sat there and watched excitedly.
After ten minutes, there was big hole in the side of the egg with a small techno troll hanging out of the crack.
The baby had cerulean skin with big gill-like ears with light blue lines of them. They had rainbow bands on their arms and blue freckles like their father. They couldn’t see the baby’s eye color yet, since they hadn’t opened her eyes yet, but they could see the baby was a girl because of her vibrant purple lash on both her little eyes.
Roxie put her hands on her mouth and was tearing up from joy. She picked up her daughter from under her little arms and pulled her close to her chest.
They could now see she had a pink, neon heart and fins that went to aquamarine like her mother’s.
“She-she’s perfect…” Roxie said, gently stroking the baby’s gill.
Trollex wrapped his arm around Roxie. “She really is.” Trollex said, smiling widely.
The baby started to whine and tears started to appear in the corner of her eyes.
“Shhhh, it’s okay, mommy’s here.” Roxie said as she rocked the baby a bit.
“And daddy.” Trollex said soothingly and put his hand on their baby’s head.
The baby rubbed her cheek against her parent’s hands, which made both of the new parent’s hearts melt.
The baby slowly blinked her eyes open, looking at her parents curiously, still having a watery glaze over her eyes.
Roxie awed. “Aw Trollex, she has your eyes.” She said, stroking the baby’s cheek, making the baby giggle.
“What should we name her?” Trollex asked, looking at the baby lovingly.
“How about…Melody?” Roxie asked, thinking about their list of baby girl names, then looked down at the baby with a smile.
The baby cooed and snuggled into her mother’s chest.
“I think she likes it.” Trollex said, smiling even more.
“Melody it is then.” Roxie said as Melody looked up at her. Roxie stroked her ear again. “Our little Melody.”
I couldn’t wait anymore ^^ She’s finally here >w< (Though her birthday’s on February 22nd)(I’ll draw her soon so y’all can see what she looks like >w<)
