Dwarrowtober Day 8: Wealthy (HC) A wealthy Stiffbeard merchant. This clan can be found in the north east and they are famous for their (semi) domesticated Mûmakil. These dwarves have utilized these animals for transportation of goods (and warefare) for thousands of years.

These animals are so massive that few dare to mess with these traveling caravans, which allows them to travel in areas which is generally deemed to dangerous for ordinary dwarvish merchant expeditions.

Modern!Fili x Reader

y/n = Your Name

Sitting on the couch, Fili had his head on y/n’s lap with his eyes closed with a content smile on his lips. The gentle feeling on her slender fingers raking through his blonde hair was almost meditative and lulling him to sleep. Y/N was enjoying this time with her boyfriend as they didn’t have much time together because of work and school and family. But something was always puzzling her. His mustache. She loved his trimmed beard and his unique mustache, but the beads. She always wanted to ask him why he had those, but she never had the heart to ask in fear that he might become self conscious or might become upset.

But she just had to ask!

“Fee?”

“Hmm?” Fili raised his brows, a content smile still on his lips.

“Can I ask a question?” Y/N asked.

“You already did, love.” He replied with a cheeky grin.

Poking his side, his eyes popped open as he let out a squeak like yelp that only made Y/N burst out laughing shortly before calming down. He glared at her for a brief moment before chuckling and sitting up and wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her to his side and kissing her temple.

“What’s your question?” He asked as his thumb stroked her shoulder.

“I don’t want you to think I don’t like it but… what is it with the beads on your mustache?” SHe asked.

With a thoughtful nod, Fili looked at her with a serious expression before shrugging his shoulders.

“It’s just something I find cool. Easy jewelry that involves no piercing and not having to worry about what would match with what outfit. Fully versatile.” He reasoned.

With an eye roll, Y/N shook her head and began to play with one of the braids on his mustache and smirked. He had a warm smile as his girlfriend played with his braid. Pulling her closer, he gave her a gentle kiss which she happily reciprocated.

Veery late submission for Dwarrowtober, day 5 with the prompt “crown”.  Had lots of stuff going on in my life that prevented me from being active on social media or drawing, that happens sometimes.  

I’m currently sick so this might come across like a bit of a ramble. But this is my version of Grór. Lord of the Iron Hills, and the sibling of Thrór. In my personal headcanon (which you can call “Mr.Kida-verse” haha) Grór is in fact a dam. I really like the parallels between Thorin, Frerin and Dís compared to the Rór-siblings. People often bring up the parallels between Thrór and Thorin when it comes to the dragon sickness, but they forget the parallels of their origin stories as well.   They were all cast from their homes due dragons, the middle sibling’s (Frerin and Frór) both die at a young age. Thorin built a new kingdom for his people just like both Thrór and Grór did etc etc

I think all this blank space leaves room for some fun storytelling. The fact that the siblings decided to go separate ways to me indicates that they did not separate in the most amicable way. I imagine them both being increeedibly stubborn with Grór being the worst out of the two. I also imagine that they were both quite hardened by their experiences, having experienced the sacking of their halls by the dragons, while also losing both their king and their father and brother in these attacks.

 Also wanted to add a bonus picture to this post, I also did a repaint of this promo picture of Thrór a few months ago just to see how he might have looked while he was young and it kind of peaked my interest to explore his youth some more (You might also recognize it since it’s currently my profile picture 8)
