Wellengang der Herzen (Beach AU)

Summary:

Adam und Leo wachsen als beste Freunde in Saar Beach auf. Adams Vater will aus seinem Sohn einen Profi Surfer machen. Mit achtzehn hat Adam genug von seinem Vater und es treibt ihn in das internationale Glanzlicht des Profi-Surfens. Leo übernimmt währenddessen in Saar Beach die Werkstatt seines Vaters und verdient sein Geld mit der Reparatur und Instandhaltung von Bootsmotoren und Hochseefisch- & Tauch-Trips für Reiche. Fünfzehn Jahre später zieht es Adam zurück nach Saar Beach, wo er wieder auf seine Jugendliebe Leo trifft.

Leo als vermauerter Fischer/Mechaniker, der sein Herz verschlossen hat und kein Hemd ohne Ölflecken besitzt, und sich durch die reichen Yacht-Besitzer und Feriengäste vögelt, manchmal zum Spaß, manchmal gegen Geld. Der einen Stamm-Yachtinstandhaltungs-Gast hat, den er ganz heiß findet und bei dem er überlegt, ob es nicht mehr werden könnte, bis der ihm offenbart, dass sie sich erst nach dem Wochenende wieder treffen können, weil seine Familie kommt. Er vermisst seine Jugendliebe, aber weiß, er muss allein klar kommen.

Adam als erfolgreicher (pampiger, bad boy) Profi-Surfer, dem das Glanzlicht von Anfang an zu viel war, der den Sport aber als einzigen Ausweg aus seinem Leben in Saar Beach sieht und der denkt, er kann nichts anderes, als Profisportler zu sein. Als sein Manager/Liebhaber ihn gegen ein jüngeres Modell eintauscht, erinnert er sich, dass Geld kein Glück kaufen kann und zieht zurück nach Saar Beach, um zu sehen, ob er nicht vielleicht dort noch mit diesem Jungen, der ihm die ganzen Jahre nie aus dem Kopf gegangen ist, die große Liebe finden kann.

Leo will nicht die zweite Wahl sein und befürchtet, dass Adam zum Profisport zurückkehrt. Er will nicht schon wieder übergangen werden und deshalb nichts von Adam wissen. Adam hat es schwer, Fuß in Saar Beach zu fassen, weil er keinen Job hat und hört die Rufe der Sportwelt. Vielleicht sollte er doch einfach weitersurfen?

Zaghafte Annäherung folgt, inkl. Drama im dritten Akt, happy ending.

The Gr(e/a)y Council Guide for day to day protective Spells

This is a primer for late apprentices (early ones should be protected from outside interference by their Master) or Hermit like Wizards who rarely interacted with other beings, so never had call to practice defensive magic until now.

This is also for going out and about, I can make a seperate primer for protecting your cave/tower/lair should be people so desire.

Now before we get started I will mention a few general givens, I expect that everyone already has their basic immortality figured out (basic being: Unless acted upon by something external or supernatural you will not die. And at the very least any wound you receive will heal completely and 1.5 times faster than an ordinary member of your species.)

The other is: When it comes to defensive spells redundency is key: Cast the spell, as well as make sure that a separate version of the spell is tied to an amulet, ring, or robe that you wear. If the item is stolen, your active cast will remain, if you lose focus, the item will pick up the slack.

Without further ado, the Gr(e/a)y council Standard list:

Magic Nullification Prevents scrying, and most spells cast directly on your person*. It is such a given, that most wizards don't attempt direct magic anymore, (e.g. summon a cloud of poison around you, rather than at you), but always cover your basics. Once saw a dude have ants summoned in his veins. Unpleasant.

Unbreakable Skin/Bones Daggers, Knives, etc. If magic won't work, go mortal. Also prevents animal Summons from harming you.

Clean Air (or whatever you breathe) (Usually cast directly on or around your breathing apparatus) Prevents poison gas attacks, or the far more popular "remove air from around this person".

Temperature Stability Stopping heat and cold attacks, as well as generally convenient when going around day to day in hot or cold climates!

Poison Detection Ok this one is obvious.

Relative Velocity above x Threshold Kinetic Energy Absorption This one is advanced and fairly complex, but if something is about to hit you with a velocity above a pre set threshold, the kinetic energy is absorbed. So you can high five, but an arrow will bounce.

Relative Intent Identification (Good/Bad/Neutral) Someone casting a spell and you want to know how they intend that it will impact you? This is the spell! Also fairly advanced and it can be tricked, but often useful.

These are the most basic protective spells that the more advanced Gr(e/a)y Council members use day to day (of course, with specific variations, plus a host of other ones. We aint giving away all our secrets).

*Note: This spell, (and in fact the rest on this list) can be broken by someone with enough power or skill.

in an alternate universe where they didn't split, what subunits do you think sm would've given tvxq? i wonder if homin / jyj units would've still happened or if they'd do something like suju kry with the main vocals. or maybe they just go "damn here" and give yunjae a duet

sm doesn't seem to like giving actual 'subunits' to their <five member groups, so i don't think jyj would have happened, but we'd probably still have gotten solo careers (eventually) from the four that have them, and probably i think a couple of duets, but they wouldn't have extensive promo periods/albums attached to them. probably yunjae and maybe changmin jaejoong? they might have also done a yunho junsu dance type one as well. but to be honest i do actually think the split was for the best, bc had they all had continued under sm we would not have gotten all that excellent angry music out of 2011-2014, AND we probably would not have gotten any of junsu's iconic songs either.
