so close to taking it upon myself to write fanfiction with eve best characters because there’s not a lot, so fucking close, already coming up with ideas in my head
Oh god look at this little weirdo. Eleanor is opening up more in the second season (which I love). One of the things that was apparent to me in the first season was how much she loves Jackie’s kids. It’s played off as joke but she is genuinely happy to be able to use her money to fund the girl’s education.
Listen, 98% of the molecules in my body are like "It's obvious that you'd die for Eleanor O'Hara."
And they're right. Firstly, legit BISEXUAL/PANSEXUAL REPRESENTATION. She hits all the marks for me. She's kind, confident, charismatic, empathetic, funny, generous, etc. Physically she is exactly the type of woman that I am attracted to - tall, beautiful brunettes, often with accents. I literally dated the generic Wal-Mart version of O'Hara in my twenties and it was one of the hottest affairs I've ever had. I still can't speak to that ex-girlfriend without having a mental meltdown.
That said...
With ALL of that said...
It's still Farah.
Because of softness. Because of patience and encouragement, intelligence and awareness. Because she uses her past trauma as a reason to help her kids and not hinder. I like that she hasn't let the events of her past harden her or make her mean - she purposely became the antithesis of her abuser and that is one of the absolute hardest battles to fight inside yourself sometimes. I can identify with the emotional distance she uses at times, the quietness of it. She is stronger than O'Hara in some ways, I believe. Admittedly more stern, but there's still soft warmth and affection there. She still loves, just as fiercely. She's also gorgeous, chic, and THAT HAIR.
She is also kind, confident, charismatic, empathetic, funny, generous, etc. I just think the ratios of each just fluctuate between the two characters. I think Eve has a character type.
And let's be perfectly honest here... #EmotionalAndMentalAbuseSolidarity is a thing.
Heyo, do you writing requests for other eve best character or just the wonderful Farah Dowling? Just asking for a friend....😇👀👀
Hello anon! So full disclosure, the only things I’ve actually seen Eve in are Fate and her performance in Antony and Cleopatra at the Globe. HOWEVER if I were to receive prompts for other characters of hers and they forced me to watch the other shows she’s been in, I would not be opposed 👀
More disclosure, I do have five prompts in my inbox right now, one of which is gonna be another long one (not quite like Détente but probably close lmao). I am absolutely not discouraging anyone from submitting prompts, I love receiving them and I don’t plan on stopping writing any time soon, but just know it might be a bit of a wait before I get to it. If you’re okay with that, then keep sending them in!
she plays a game with eleanor— toys with the concept of flirtation and then tries to silence it. but they talk too much in the hallowed wood of an old chapel, and they chuckle too much on linoleum floors, and alana wears black leather gloves to keep her away. she prays she can avoid bare skin, awaiting and incredibly aware of her weakness.
she doesn’t like bare contact because it happens just. like. this. just like eleanor’s finely manicured nail tucked under her chin and her body freezing immediately. those eyes turn upward, seek out without being able to stop herself. and when that mouth’s on hers, the little therapist nearly bolting, her freeze instinct switches to faun and she’s kissing her back. the good doctor drops her book, truly. umberto eco’s foucault’s pendulum thuds to the floor forgotten like all the sense that touch has sent rushing from her body. hands, her own, short nails vibrant red, cling to the lapels of a coat to keep a closeness sacred.
“ fuck. —
fuck you. ”
it’s the bright flush of pink in her cheeks, demure as a doe, unintentional. her words don’t hold her usual venom. they’re not acerbic. they’re almost soft. like she isn’t holding tight to eleanor with a pathetically vice-like grip, and like those pretty, coral pink lips don’t bow to a heart shaped pout. her eyes are white-blue.
she should’ve known better. dr. bloom is horrendous at self-control. and she really likes it.
the title is self explanatory. this is a list of the characters i'll write for. it'll probably change over time, and if you see a character you'd like but don't see them on the list, just ask cause i might've forgotten about them
