I definitely know what you mean.

I noticed it a while ago, that Richard sometimes has a certain way to pronounce some words when he's explaining something - like he subconsciously wants to bring his point across with extra distinct pronunciation. (To me, in these moments he sometimes sounds like a pompous/posh professor, but in a charming way 🫶🏻).

The Haifisch making of is a good example but I think he was in a bit of a playful mood here 😊 There are other times when he's speaking very clearly, very distinct and in a way very concentrated (accentuating the important words and phrases), for example in the Making of for Rammstein, when he explains the situation with David Lynch and their demo tape (starting at 1:40min):

Yet oftentimes Richard's really relaxed in interviews, making flippant remarks, sometimes having a lovable offhand attitude - I have the feeling that this happens when he's talking more about things which concern personal matters, or when he's already comfortable and/or acquainted with the interviewer, like in this podcast from 2021 (he already made a podcast with the interviewer in 2018):

The state-funded German Jewish outlet obtained the dossier about Wolff's false Jewish identity, ostensibly in 2021. Peyman Engel said his newspaper decided not to disclose Wolff's fake identity at the time, citing an incident in 2019 when a German historian and blogger named Marie Sophie Hingst committed suicide after it was disclosed that she lied about being the descendant of Holocaust survivors. Questions abound over whether Philipp Peyman Engel and the paper failed to meet their journalistic obligation to report on stories of great public interest.

And yet, there has been no shortage of examples over the decades about Germans who manufactured a Jewish identity and did not kill themselves.

In 2010, the prominent German-Jewish journalist, Henryk M. Broder, exposed that a German woman aboard the vessel MV Irene, which sought to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza, invented her conversion to Judaism. "Edith Lutz is definitely a Jew, like a smoked pork chop is kosher," Broder wrote at the time.

In 2012, the author of this article revealed that Irena Wachendorff, a German poet and anti-Israel activist, acknowledged that she fabricated her supposed service in the IDF during the First Lebanon war. She called strong pro- Israel activists "the neo-Nazi troop among the Jews," and expressed support for the terrorist movement Hamas that rules over the Gaza Strip.

Most recently, Broder and his colleague, Moritz Gerlach, unveiled another German man masquerading as a Jew. On July 19, they revealed that a man named Frank Borner ostensibly manufactured a Jewish identity and holds "Meet a Jew" presentations on the Baltic sea island of Fehmarn, part of Germany's northern-most state, Schleswig-Holstein.

I’m curious. When were you first introduced to Rammstein and when did you get into them proper (if they’re different moments)?

I’ll start.

I heard one of their songs (I think it was Engel??) in a Naruto AMV when I was like 12 (super cringey I know), but I didn’t get into them because I heard about the Mein Teil MV and it scared me off.

I got into them proper this year after watching Richard’s Wikipedia Fact or Fiction video on Loudwire. I thought “wow this guy is super interesting! I should actually check out Rammstein again.” And now here I am 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are many more but it's a lot of songs and I don't remember the speciality about each and every one, so here are a few things I love from newer songs:

-The prechorus/first verse of Skål, that first line always hits me right in the face, also the beat

-The low bass notes in Kaller På Deg (pls kill me)

-The melodic start of Dommedagen 2020

-The melody change between the first and second verse in Jeg Vil Ikke Leve (also him lying on the floor in that cage in the MV is a depressive mood)

-Same with Ut Av Mørket

-The amount of detail put on the things you can't even hear in the live version of Fallen Angel (high notes in the chorus, blurred notes in the prechorus, etc. the version without lyrics is pure beauty, someone's gotta appreciate Andreas' songwriting skills)

-The acoustic version of Håper Nissen Har Råd (and his voice sounding extremely cute at the end of the second verse)

-Each and every melody sounding extremely NOT like any American radio-friendly popsong

-The bass in the chorus of Engel Ikke Dra (also just the whole song and the story)

-The lyrics of every sad song this man ever produced

-The drop of Neste Sommer

-The chorus melody of Når Koser Vi Oss

-Ikke Han's high notes at the end, also the "lines in the void" how I like to call them, everything that's sung but not the main melody

I can go on forever.

the talking sequences are sort of split for me, actually understanding them, because the intro to versace for example is kinda xenophobic (slobadonka sounds a bit like a parody eastern european name to my ears and it just doesn't surprise but sadden me)

May 2019.

2. Tell me your story. How did you discover them?

Well, it was because of the fuss around Deutschland mv and I just watched it out of curiosity. They also played it a lot on the radio, and after that there came Radio mv. Yes, I'd known some of the songs (Du Hast, Amerika, Engel, Mutter) before, but hadn't been into this band at all. But after the release of the newest songs, I got interested in their music and began discovering it all. I knew I fell in love with them on May 28th 2019 when Ausländer mv was out.

3. Favourite song?

Sehnsucht. Also Weit Weg. And Ich Will.

4. Least favourite song? Come on. I know you have one.

Not only one. They're Te Quiero Puta and B********

5. Favourite album?

Sehnsucht.

6. Least favourite album?

Rosenrot.

7. Something that speaks to you in the deepest sense of the word: a lyric? A specific song?

Weit Weg. A masterpiece. If you read the poem Mitternacht it gets even better. I absolutely love it. There is a certain amount of gross and the creepy feeling but after all it's still beautiful. It makes me shiver inside, this song brings tears to my eyes. I've loved this song since I heard the first sounds of it. This song, to me, is about sth so close but yet so far, about a person who's living in a delusion, in a dream, but the dream can't be reached. The dream being another person. Unrequited love? Unrequited friendship? Whatever it is, it's freaking sad and so true.

Honourable mentions: Stein um Stein, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Wo Bist Du.

8. Unpopular opinion: about a member? A scandal? Anything?

I like the songs Roter Sand and Stirb nicht vor mir.

Also, I like the Stadium Tour 2019 outfits.

And I want Schneider to keep his moustache because he looks very hot with it.

9. Have you ever seen them live? Tell me what you felt.

I haven't seen them live yet but I already know it's an extraordinary experience. I'll see them in Warsaw this year tho don't even start with the corona shit

1. I’m curious: when did you discover Rammstein?

November or December of 2019. How fast a year goes by.

2. Tell me your story. How did you discover them?

My ex recommended them to me because I speak German. I had listened to a few of their songs like Du Hast and Engel before, but that was the push to actually sit down and listen seriously. I remember watching the Engel MV in my college’s library and being horrified at Flake deepthroating a foot. 

3. Favorite song?

The first song that gave me a “WHOA” reaction was when I watched a live recording of Sonne. It gave me chills. So it’ll always have a very special place in my heart. Songs I am always in the mood for are: Weit Weg, Deutschland, Du Hast, Spiel Mit Mir, Eifersucht, Morgenstern, MGM, DRSG, Engel, Mein Teil...etc.

4. Least favorite song? Come on. I know you have one.

I have never been able to get into Klavier. 

5. Favorite album?

This is like asking me to choose between my kids!! I dunno...I can definitely sit down and listen to Untitled in one shot without getting sick of it, but I could probably do that for all of them... it really varies by day. Sehnsucht is up there too, of course.

6. Least favorite album?

I guess LIFAD? The second half of the album kinda loses me. Though I do like that it’s a very drum-centered album. 

7. Something that speaks to you in the deepest sense of the word: a lyric? A specific song?

Oh, Ohne Dich, no question. Because...have you ever been in a relationship where those words are applicable? Being with you hurts, being without you hurts, fuck the whole deal. Its not a great thing. You only really figure your shit out in hindsight. 

8. Unpopular opinion: about a member? A scandal? Anything?

I know for a fact this is unpopular, but my ranking of the members’ attractiveness is: 1. Oliver 2. Schneider 3. Till 4. Paul 5. Richard 6. Flake

9. Have you ever seen them live? Tell me what you felt.

No, but I have tickets for the Philadelphia show in August, provided the tour isn’t postponed ;-; I’m tempted to fold my trans flag into a neat little square with a note attached like “Transgender Flag: Please hold up! - Kenny :)” and try to chuck it into one of the rafts if they do the boats, but I probably don’t have the nerve to try lmao

10. Do you play any instruments? If you do, can you play any song by them?

I can play the drums :3 I can play some of Ich Will and the intro to Mein Teil, but since I’ll be home much more for the next few weeks I can definitely get some more practice in.

I knew about them since early 2000s, I think there wasn’t a single person who wouldn’t know about at least du hast lol. Then I listened to Amerika and du hast on a repeat when Reise, Reise came out (I remember being scared of the Mein Teil mv sahdhasjdkf - look at me now, rereading the best fic ever about it). I didn’t get properly into the fandom till 2017, since then it went all downhill for me uwu

3. Favourite song? 

Can’t choose between Morgenstern, Hilf Mir, Sonne, and Waidmanns Heil lol

4. Least favourite song? Come on. I know you have one.

I’m absolutely in love with the entire text of Radio; a part of my thesis was about how people behind the Iron Wall got influenced by Western subcultures via radios and I was so damn excited when I heard the song for the fist time  ♡

I don’t think I have one - the only thing that comes to my mind is that I don’t like when people think adult men aren’t capable of thinking for themselves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First time was in 2017. Twice last year and those were the best concerts of my life - what I felt? That Richard’s a great hugger huehuehue I couldn’t believe the luck I had and all the stuff I lived through just in 48 hours ♡♡♡ and if everything will be alright by May, I’ll see them three times this year uwu

Uuuuh, I used to play the drums and could at one point play Rosenrot (and Emigrate’s Babe if that counts lol) but nothing else
