a fun lil something about episode 229 of wtnv: when Cecil tell us how Vaquero got Dana free from jail, both dates they mention are actual days when wtnv uploaded new episodes!

Dana kills her double (or the double kills Dana, no way to know for sure) on ep 19 (The Sandstorm) which was released on the 15th of March of 2013. And murder officially became a crime in Night Vale on the 15th of August, 2013, episode 29 (The Subway).

however, if you go to ep 29, you won't hear anything about murder at all throughout the transmission. that's cause Cecil actually covers the story one episode before! on ep 28 (Summer Reading Program), which came out on the 1st of August, Cecil reports that, during a debate that day, The City Council had finally declared murder illegal and that this law would go into effect in two weeks. so yes, the act of murdering only became a crime on the 15th of august, 2013, in our weird little town of Night Vale and the lovely Dana Cardinal did not violate any laws during the doppelganger incident!

damn, Cecil was right! that Vaquero really is the best in the business, respect.

Functional Cosmetic/Hygiene Products Items can be used from any surface or a sim’s inventory and will boost hygiene/comfort. After several uses (12 by default), the product will need to be replaced. When using cosmetics from a sim’s inventory, wait until the sims finishes using the first item BEFORE selecting the second one. Otherwise, the second object will be removed from the inventory. Both the object and plug-in files are needed for each item to work properly in-game. Number of uses and motive gain are tuneable in simPE (BCONS: 0x00 = number of uses, 0x002 = hygiene, 0x03 = comfort). Some Assembly Required Display 002 has 7 slots and the 6th and 7th are actually below the shelf itself (I needed it to be this way for one of my own projects). The easiest way to build the cosmetics without having to worry about slots 6 and 7 is to: 1) Turn “move objects” on. 2) Place Display 001 and fill it with items. 3) Position the Display Deco (the arch) on the same tile. 4) Place Display 002 on the same tile and fill the first 5 slots with items. So going back and reading ep 229, I think metis is bad mother for not stepping up when she had the chance like Persephone’s question didn’t really got explained to her because she was clearly alive when Kronos was a threat and no her being in love with zeus doesn’t make her helpless in the sense she’s can’t stop him, we saw persephone fight Kronos even though she was in love and the worse thing is she’s didn’t stop Hera from getting in contact with Kronos!! But question is was her power passive and not physical did she knew her existence because rhea knows for an episode that was meant to explain fertility goddesses it left more questions then answer. Of course I could be wrong

It's honestly just messy and confusing as hell because you can tell Rachel's using flashbacks as a way to tack on information whenever she comes up with it as a way to make up for the lack of actual planning she did.

When it comes to Metis specifically, what gets me is that it's yet another female character who's been put into a position to be taken advantage of "for the greater good". Metis and Hera and even Persephone when you think about the dynamic of her relationship with Hades all have this in common, their use in the story is how they can either serve men or manipulate them (sometimes even while destroying another woman in the process) and it's a subtext that's never challenged or even used as a cautionary tale, it just seems to be accepted as the healthy norm and celebrated. It's like the women in the story can only be heroes so long as they're either victims of manipulation and assault or perpetrators of manipulation and assault and it's nasty.

While I’m making fun of Teridax for being overdramatic to the point of screwing over his own plans, the man has clearly never heard of the Evil Overlord List. Let’s count:

47. If I learn that a callow youth has begun a quest to destroy me, I will slay him while he is still a callow youth instead of waiting for him to mature. [Well, I mean, he tried.]

49. If I learn the whereabouts of the one artifact which can destroy me, I will not send all my troops out to seize it. Instead I will send them out to seize something else and quietly put a Want-Ad in the local paper.

73. I will not agree to let the heroes go free if they win a rigged contest, even though my advisors assure me it is impossible for them to win.
