Why dies tousen hate horoscopes?
Scene: Ninth Division HQ, about 10 years after Turn Back The Pendulum and a few years into the regular publication of The Seireitei Bulletin, The Gotei-13's officially endorsed monthly periodical, produced by the 9th Division, of which one Captain Kaname Tousen is Editor-In-Chief: Tousen could feel the sizzling aura well before he ever set foot in the 9th divisions courtyard, and a good ten minutes before the loser of the hasty break room janken tournament coughed nervously at his office door.
"Yes, Hashimoto?" he sighed.
"The. Uh. The Captain-General is here to see you." Hashimoto stammered. "Actually he's right here in the hall if you want to-"
Yamamoto strolled up to the threshold of the door but did not quite step inside. There were rules, and even The Great Genryusai Yamamoto was beholden to them. "Captain Tousen." he spoke evenly.
"Sir." Kaname stood up and bowed as Hashimoto sprinted back down the hall. His footfalls did not entirely cover the sound of others slinking closer to eavesdrop. This was the 9th, and Kaname would be the first to admit he'd be a little disappointed if their meeting wasn't being carefully and discretely documented by several division members.
Now that he had been acknowledged, Yamamoto stepped in. "At ease." he nodded, and Tousen shifted positions a bit into an easier but no less cautious stance.
The Captain-General went to stand in front of the window beside Kaname's desk, looking down into the courtyard of the Ninth, or perhaps the extensive collection of Bird feeders a confused but earnest Ukitake had gifted Kaname over the years*. "...Captain Iba has been to see me."
Tousen winced. Third Division Captain Chikane Iba, mother of Young Tetsuzaemon and Astrology Fanatic, was Kaname Tousen's third-greatest personal nemesis, and that was only because he had not yet figured out how to Murder Aizen and Gin.
"She claims you were rather sharp with her when you turned down her proposal to include a Horoscope in The Bulletin." Yamamoto continued, watching an exceptionally round bird with dramatic black facial markings hop between feeders, sampling the wide variety of seeds available.
"The contents of the Seireitei Bulletin are not the concern of anyone except the Ninth save in terms of veracity, and to that end, there is not, and will never be, a Horoscope in The Bulletin." Tousen spoke as evenly as possible, but the acid in his voice dripped through.
"I am aware this is not actually my problem," Yamamoto nodded as the little bird settled on a feeder full of safflower seeds. "-But Captain Iba seems determined to make it my problem, so I am politely asking you to make it cease being a problem at all."
"As I said, the foremost requirement of any information or article in the bulletin is that it be, to the best of our ability, accurate and true. In that sense, no horoscope has ever managed to pass the first requirement of publication." Tousen stood up straighter. "I cannot help it if Captain Iba chooses to believe in patent nonsense, but I absolutely refuse to indulge her childish and cruel superstitions."
Yamamoto turned to look at Tousen. "Cruel?"
"A horoscope is, fundamentally, a means of arbitrarily grouping people into various stereotypes based on the accident of their birth. Several of the stereotypes are as cruel as they are inaccurate. For instance, everyone born in from late August through September is a quarrelsome slut, according to her favorite theory of divination."
"...That doesn't sound like Sajin at all." Yamamoto muttered.
"Putting the fraudulent pseudoscience and outright fabrication of all the Zodiac's so-called facts to the side for a moment- It encourages prejudice in a very literal sense. Deciding whether you will be worshipful of or nemeses with someone based entirely on a date, and not one hint of their actual conduct!" Kaname waved his hands evocatively, trying to avoid raising his voice in from of his commander. "Furthermore, predestination is a callous philosophy- to say that our fate is written in the stars is as good as saying that any unfortunate circumstance someone may be born with is 'just how things are' and encourages an apathetic neglect of one's fellow man- if this is destiny, why bother trying to improve things? Worse still- if the stars dictate that someone be born with some misfortune, it is implied also that they *deserved* this misfortune somehow, and heaps the further misfortunes of guilt and being perceived as wicked onto people who were already suffering!"
"...You can tell why I cannot give even the barest hint of endorsement to this kind of thinking." Tousen sighed, gesturing to his face.
"Hm." Yamamoto nodded, watching the birds for a moment. "Your point is well-taken, but this still leaves Captain Iba and her cohort to be dealt with."
"I can lead a horse to water sir, but I cannot make her think." Tousen shrugged.
Yamamoto snorted with amusement. "She did say you compared Astrology rather unfavorably to livestock waste. What was it, Stupider than..?"
"I believe my exact words were that if one were to channel the entire farm animal waste of the rukongai for 100 years into a single location, one would still not have a pile of shit as spectacular as this stupider-than-sheep-smegma attempt at prognostication. Sir." Kaname mumbled.
"...Your former career as a Librarian really enhances the quality of your work." Yamamoto nodded, turning from the window and stepping closer to Kaname, head bowed conspiratorially. "Would you like some advice?"
"Sir?" Kaname tilted his head to point an ear at the old man.
"Understand that you shouldn't follow this advice too often, but I feel like it might help in this situation." Yamamoto cautioned.
Kaname nodded, curious.
"If you do something badly enough the first time, you will not be asked to do it a second time." Yamamoto explained with an audible grin in his voice.
Kaname blinked a few times, processing that, then broke out in a small, hopeful smile of his own.
"You understand. Good man." Yamamoto nodded, affectionately clapping Tousen on the shoulder.
"Thank you, Sir." Kaname grinned. "If you can remind me, When is Captain Iba's Birthday again?"
"September Fourtheenth." Yamamoto replied with a speed that indicated he'd looked up and been waiting to tell Tousen that date all morning. "As you were then, Captain Tousen."
"Thank you, Sir." Kaname bowed.
"I look forward to your next publication with great anticipation!" Yamamoto cheerfully called over his shoulder as he turned to leave, chucking quietly at the sound of manic typing already emanating from Tousen's office.
---
*Upon Tousen's extremely unfortunate promotion to Captain, an entirely good-natured and generous Ukitake had asked Tousen if he had any hobbies, with the intent of trying to get the poor thing's mind off The Tragedy, and scoping out an appropriate end-of-year gift for his new colleague.
Unfortunately, Kaname had been in a foul mood on account of the horror show his life had become, and had sarcastically replied "Bird-watching."
"Oh of course!" Ukitake had replied without missing a beat "-You ryouken is so sensitive you can probably pick a thrush out of a thicket a mile off, and you must be excellent at identifying bird calls!" And then proceeded to gift Kaname varying types of bird feeders, baths and houses until the small porch outside Tousen's office had become a stronghold of the Audubon Society.
Kaname did have to admit, Ukitake was right- with a little practice he *had* gotten quite good at using his spiritual sense to identify the hundreds of birds that passed through the Ninth, and the Birdsong both a comforting blanket of white noise and early warning of Gin's approach were it to suddenly cease.

Gimme a second, I need to talk about Knives Millions and “fifth moon.” CW: frank analysis of sexual assault and rape ahead as well as incestuous themes and pregnancy of the deeply fucked up variety, with manga screencaps. There are spoilers for the Trigun manga. Read at your own discretion.
Because, okay, I consider myself fairly high tolerance for explicit content (gore, cruelty, sexual assault, graphic violence) with only a few things that absolutely squick me out (parasitism specifically)—so it’s been a long time since a villain made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and uneasy. But Knives? Knives motherfucking Millions? That guy has something deeply wrong with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time I read this, I was very confused. Why are there two sets of legs? What’s happening? And then I swapped to the Overhaul TL and it was clarified that they’re resurrecting Knives here by “syncing him up with another plant.” I thought originally this meant draining a plant’s energy; I was wrong.
This is is a monstrous birth. This is Knives bloodily ripping his way through a creature he refers to as his “sister,” as all of the plants are considered siblings, in a horrifying parody of pregnancy.
(Where did the silly space western go!!)
And a brief summary of the following scene: Knives grabs Vash and forcibly activates Vash’s “Angel Arm,” a manifestation of his plant abilities. Note that Vash describes that feeling as “something horrifyingly sick.”
Then, this iconic spread:
Tumblr media
Let’s note the position they’re in—Knives, with Vash locked into his arms. A sudden eruption of the gun—provoked but unwanted. Please also note that the way Knives describes the feeling of shooting the Angel Arm in a way horrifyingly similar to orgasm.
I remember putting this chapter down and thinking, Jesus Christ. Knives just raped him. “Fifth Moon” is a rape scene in everything but name.
Of course, rape is defined in real life in terms of penetration and a lack of consent to sex acts, but in fiction, it’s often used as a narrative tool and expanded to be fundamentally about gross violations of consent and bodily autonomy. This is what Knives does to his brother in “fifth moon”—violates his body and his will in a scene so evocative of sexual assault that it had to be on purpose.
And he’s done this shit multiple times! Fifth Moon is the second incident after he makes Vash shoot the Arm in July. It’s horrifying and it’s scary and it’s deeply uncomfortable. I can’t even begin to list all the things in this chapter that violate the boundaries of “acceptable to do in society” in perverse ways.
Really, it all just makes Trigun a damn good read if you’re willing to be made a little uncomfortable for the sake of the story. It’s all astonishingly well done.
(Sidenote: this is why I can’t take people seriously when they get angry at people pointing out Trigun’s incestuous themes. They’ve been there since the 90s, man, I don’t know what to tell you. Knives is the villain of the piece for several reasons, and this is definitely one of them.)

ok i was blabbing this on priv twitter but, i saw that sheezy is back which is cool, i did actually like it out of the art gallery sites that had been popping up. i logged back in so i have my profile there tho idk how active i will be
however i keep thinking more about its site management, also in comparison to other websites that have tried the same thing. this isnt a jab at the mods there, but an observation... they have ratings of general, mature, and explicit all with different teirs of whats allowed in terms of things like nudity or gore (and other topics on the mature/explicit teirs). normal thing to see, but the potential issues i start to see are when there are specific visual guides, and specific tags expected for a variety of different visuals that may either be subjective on whether or not they are that thing, or could easily be tagged as something else/something similar but still not be considered properly tagged. plus when you have three different maturity ratings and you say "all of them can have blood and nudity, just different levels of it!" you get that confusion and subjectivity on what may be too much or too little, despite having visual guides.
for example i had a piece i uploaded with (in a large art summary so it wasnt the whole peice) self harm in it, which i tagged "selfharm". however a mod came a added the tag "sensitivetopics" because apparently thats what i needed to tag instead. not anger at the mods here, its great theyre on top of things. but why isnt "selfharm" caught in this system? its incredibly specific, while "sensitivetopics" is not. but thats what the system goes by/expects. even if i had marked it mature and added "selfharm" it still wouldnt be tagged correctly.... and thats an issue. 1) it makes more work for the mods who manually check this 2) its just hard to follow. and if it was more serious of a thing, there could certainly be upset from people if they kind of tagged it right but apparently not right by the mod's rules.
there is always a push for making sure content is tagged better these days so people can curate their experiences. understandably simply having general, mature, and explicit doesnt account for lots of stuff so tags are expected to help out. but getting far to specific on what it expected to only be in those labels is kind of a problem.
but it shouldn't have to be, imo? i think most sites that have loosely defined general, mature, and adult/explicit labels make it work just fine. and enforcing tags for blacklisting can easily lead to more issues. its a great thought to have, to want to make sure things are tagged in a way thats unbiased and simply for users to curate their use of the site. but its never realistic. curating your online space doesnt mean the website should curate it for you by practically promising they will be the one to make sure everything gets tagged all the time no matter what. because its not possible, as much as they may try to get mods to check every drawing. and whether or not the site promised this at all, the failure to achieve it would likely upset users who expected everything to go just that way.
it is tricky, just because of course people could mislabel in a very bad way (explicit marked as general). but those instances of a drawing being under a mature filter but not tagging something specific shouldnt be the focus for every single post on the site, i just see that becoming an issue in the long run-- whether its subjectivity (or the pressure to make more and more tags to get more specific), or just the effort from the mod side.

I finished this game. And in the end, its story included:
Time travel and time loops, worlds and people actually existing in a computer simulation, multiple variations of characters including literal clones, characters who are also partly other characters, body-jacking, different layers of reality, memory loss, existential angst, tangled relationships between characters, previously established information going out the window once later information is learned, villains who just won’t die, scientists with good intentions that go too far, a breed of enemy with a variety of forms, convoluted plot turns due to dreams and/or memories, slow afternoon scenes of characters just casually talking and eating food, characters not communicating information to each other when it could solve problems, characters dropping long-winded exposition dumps, characters being easily forgiven for heinous actions, weak romantic writing, the number 13 being important, detailed lore in written unlockable reports, elements that are blatantly derivative of other sources, terms that leaves you scratching your head in confusion, an evil old man that’s behind everything wrong, and a schmaltzy happy ending where everyone lives and every sacrifice made is reversed.
Holy shit, it’s literally all of Tetsuya Nomura’s Kingdom Hearts bullshit! All the stuff I hate!
.........So why did I enjoy this so goddamn much!?
Three reasons, all of which are crucial differences between it and Kingdom Hearts.
1. The most obvious first: it’s just one game. One game with one self-contained narrative. It’s not stretched out across multiple entries ad nauseum with no clear endgame plan in mind; it’s clear going in that while convoluted, this story is a puzzle that you can actually completely piece together. Everything will make some degree of logical sense by the time that you’re finished, and you don’t have to worry about anything being changed or backtracked in any following games. There’s even a menu placing all of the events in their proper order, the setting of each event and characters featured even being clarified, and it’s right next to the menu with the unlockable reports. The confusion does end, leaving you feeling satisfied.
2. The tone of the game is tailor-made for all of this. It’s a hard-edged sci-fi story with purely Japanese content, not something meant to be a fun fantasy adventure crossing Japanese and Western content together in a way that should balance each other out. Seeing so much of what I listed above in a Kingdom Hearts game bothers me because that’s not how the series started and ideally should be, whereas it feels totally natural for this kind of game.
3. Last but not least, the characters. Nomura made all of his characters service his bullshit and flattened them down to just being the things they make happen in the plot or what happens to them in the plot; having an interesting, engaging and fleshed-out personality fell by the wayside. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim never forgets to make you actually care about its characters. Each one is distinct, with their own intricate backstories, unique personality quirks, and preferred way of doing things. You feel like they are human beings who are making the events of the narrative happen, rather than pieces on a board being moved around by the writer to suit his storytelling whims. All of their story modes have a different vibe to them as a result - you’ve got an identity crisis story, a Cute Girls Doing Cute Things shojou romance, a male and a female coming of age tale, a Madoka-themed Protagonist Journey to Villain, a bisexual awakening(!), a detective mystery, a Bourne Identity-style thriller, a Girl and her Alien Robot, a somber tale of personal loss, a Groundhog Day comedy, a haunting psychological tragedy, and a straight-laced scientific information gathering.
Going through all of these characters’ stories, coming to care about them, and then having to see them finally band together and defend the world from within their badass giant mech vehicles....that’s the true heart of this game; it’s where the greatest joy comes from. For all game players who think this sounds like a good time, I highly recommend this. Vanillaware hasn’t put out something this excellent since Odin Sphereand...uh, Odin Sphere’s remaster.
I’ll wrap this post up with the moment the game truly dug its hooks into me:

SZA - SOS
Second album of r&b pop from the Solána Imani Rowe with guest appearances from Phoebe Bridgers, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Travis Scott, and Don Toliver
7/13
Tumblr media
Emerging more than five years after her debut album Ctrl (and three years later than it was first announced) it’s been a long, odd wait for SZA’s second album SOS – to the point that over the past couple of years SZA seemed to even have a vague public spat online with Top Dawg record label boss Punch about getting it out there.
That’s a bad sign, right? Within forty-five seconds my first thought about this excellent album is the same as my concluding thought will be, an hour later: Solána Imani Rowe is a world class talent – one of the very best – and she’s not getting good enough service. Quite apart from all the horrible exes and bad shags and treacherous frenemies strewn across the songs, in real life SZA’s not being protected well enough by the business folks around her. And maybe the insecurity of that corporate failure is starting to poke through the surface of some otherwise phenomenal music.
It’s not like SZA vanished into the gap between albums. She’s not the Stone Roses. She has an Oscar nomination for her Kendrick Lamar collab ‘All The Stars’, from Black Panther. She’s guested on a pile of hits and kept the big singles coming, over the years. She’s done all the necessary social media teaser nonsense and fully embraced the hyperreal, ultra-branded expectations placed upon a modern pop superstar.
Then a month ago we got the blood-soaked body-swap psychodrama video for ‘Shirt’, co-starring LaKeith Stanfield. The song’s slow groove and aching, upswung melody belied the pace and high fantasy violence of the visuals. Even ‘Shirt’ had been long teased – fans got snippets of it online way back in 2021.
Now the album finally lands and it’s enormous. SOS is twenty-three tracks long and sonically it sprawls all over the hood. From low to high, clipped to soaring, SZA’s vocals are icily superb and her overwrought writing is vivid throughout. These progressive, ambitious melodies act like stitching to hold together the patchwork of an exceptionally diverse approach to genre and production. SOS hops around like mad. And in that context, with such an open-minded attitude to style and form, SZA deliberately – aggressively, even – forces herself into the chaotic centre, to become one of those backbone artists, whereby the music will pay service to her vision, not the other way around. It bodes well, because clearly she could sing just about anything.
Apart from slow grooves, electronic pop, and hip hop structures, there’s also a loose-limbed indie acoustic sensibility brought to quite a few of the songs. On a lot of R&B pop records those attempts at a token four-chord indie strum are the awful weak points (Lizzo’s lame-ass ‘Coldplay’ definitely shouldn’t have made the cut on her album, for example). By contrast SZA’s performances and lyric writing in that boring genre easily stand firm. It’s like she knows how to use (and abuse) white boy floppiness so effectively, it gives the harder, deeper stuff even more power.
Last week she told Billboard that because she grew up around white people, in musical terms, she accessed that kind of sound earlier. She’s having to consciously shift direction towards embracing artifice, from where she considers the ‘natural energy’ of her roots. SZA says “I wanted to be, like, crass. I’ve created the person I wanted to see in the world.”
So how does she pull it all together, especially over so many tracks, without SOS becoming bland mainstream mush? Aside from vocal variety, she does it with some truly exhausting emotional content. However dazzling it can be, SOS is often a murderously miserable record: broken-hearted, emotionally chaotic, confused and traumatised. It’s a record about desperately, unwisely, clinging onto some of the worst shit ever. A record about still having the horn for men who long proved they’re disgusting. SZA navigates such power juggling, the stupidity of fame, her broader self-knowledge, with the vicious aplomb of a daytime reality TV show, where the ratings spike when there’s a fight.
‘Blind’ for example, could be the lightest of finger-picked acoustic meanderings, except her staccato lyric slices it up.
Hey, my past can’t escape me My pussy precedes me My, my, how the times change I’m still playing the victim And you still playing the ‘pick-me’
You still talkin’ ‘bout babies And I’m still taking the Plan B
There was this one moment in that violent ‘Shirt’ video where, after abandoning her partner-in-crime (or alter-ego) to get cut to pieces by white-coated paranoia avatars, SZA’s character, now alone, suddenly turns and shoots round after round into an empty alley wall. Then you realise she’s murdering her own shadow, which detaches and drops dead onto the ground. The moment is gone in a flash – it’s a small detail. But listening to SOS (trying to get my head around all the hard dirt being uncovered), I think how apt and emotionally indicative that short scene was.
SZA represents herself shockingly often as a kind of shadow of herself in moments of death and of liberation, both at once. In the slightly Eminem-ish ‘Kill Bill’ her narrator briefly pretends to herself she’s okay with her ex and his new girl, while also pondering killing him. A therapist may try to distract her (impotently) with the notion of other guys, but no, by the final chorus she’s inevitably done the job and offed them both.
‘Nobody Gets Me’ is another heartwrekt indie ballad that comes off like a spikier Lana Del Rey, with a similar use of edgy post-millennial language to undercut what could otherwise be a soul ballad. The sentiment may boil down to “nobody gets me but you,” but the first verse has this ace summary line –
You were balls-deep, now we beefin’
That’s SOS in a nutshell. Like the shot-dead shadow, SZA liberates and destroys herself easily as blinking. She repeatedly sums up the whole in neat, seedy phrases. There are so many beefs here, it almost gets silly. The problem isn’t that the sheer scale of harshness and loneliness with exes, new partners, business acquaintances, whoever, is draining (though it is). The problem is that she skitters around all those feelings so quickly. One senses – and hopes on her behalf – that it’s not real.
‘Special’ splices flavours of Alicia Keys’ ‘New York State Of Mind’ to the self-loathing of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. The craft is showing, so is she making it too obvious? I don’t actually enjoy this much apparent self-loathing over the course of a long record, so if there are clues that it is song-craft, rather than self-excavation, then I’m heartened. In conversation, SZA is acute about distinctions between reality and persona, which gives a reassuring clue that at least some of it is performative.
This is how I start to wonder if outside forces have, for a while, tried to manipulate her public character to present as ‘troubled’, or an antihero, while SZA herself is pushing in another direction, at least for now.
Talking to Billboard again: “That’s like my biggest goal right now, is to learn to enjoy myself and be happy.” She says, “I know that I’m blessed and I have a lot of opportunities, but I don’t know, am I building myself, like chasing after superstardom? I don’t know if that’s sustainable for me, or for anybody. It’s all so scary. I hate being on camera. I hate talking because I put my foot in my mouth a lot. It’s not like the album pressure, it’s just like life is fucking hard and to be expected to do anything at a high level while life is life-ing is fucking crazy. And then you’re supposed to be a nice person on top of that!”
Artists fretting publicly about putting their foot in their mouth is another red flag.
Meanwhile, before even listening to ‘Ghost In The Machine’ I’m annoyed that Phoebe Bridgers shows up on SOS at all. Bridgers is becoming so incredibly ubiquitous on other folks’ records, it’s starting to have the opposite effect than intended. I love her music and some of her own collabs and cover versions (she nailed Bo Burnham’s ‘That Funny Feeling’ for example) but right now she brings a kind of magic indie countercultural ‘good for business’ aura that everyone covets a piece of, regardless genre or artistic vision. I accept this is my British snobbery: the Americans simply don’t think like we do, when it comes to having a celebrity pal on an (ultra-hip, genre bending R&B electro pop) album, who was already a guest on five other records this autumn, including the solo album of the singer out of fucking Mumford & Sons. That’s on me, though.
Then suddenly ‘F2F’ (which Lizzo has a writing credit on) spins another sonic one-eighty, taking a similar horny-sad theme but sounding so much like a basic alt-pop jam (complete with fuzzy guitar stop-starts) that it could be Olivia Rodrigo, or even Maisie Peters. Miley Cyrus would slay this tune. It may be the album’s most plain upbeat moment, though the chorus is “I fuck him cos I miss you.”
It’s true for many artists but especially true here: if you dig SZA’s dextrous voice and don’t mind a load of misery, you may easily (and rightly) fall in love with SOS. I’m adoring her instrument and all the heady iconoclasm. She makes tough singing sound so easy, one can miss the tumbling journey of it all, and fail to notice the heights she’s reached along the way. And of course, it’s only because of that vocal talent and these lyrics, that the audio production can throw itself all around the park.
Also, because SZA can spit too, I think she gets bracketed too closely to the hip hop universe, when her actual vibe is so much broader, and leans nearer to the psychedelic adventures of FKA Twigs, alongside the minimalist, nihilist pinup tendencies of Del Rey. Nihilism is key. It’s starting to do my head in how much nihilism and vengefulness are centred in this modern pop, presented as though that’s somehow a more truthful part of our emotional experience than, say, the simpler ups and downs of lust and loss. A question I can’t figure is: is it self-disempowering that she embraces the tropes, or the opposite?
If there’s a failure in SOS it’s how monumentally hard it tries, as if the non-creative people around the artist are still demanding more, or demanding different, or trying to control the creative output, to a point that risks slaughtering confidence and maybe results in the desperate scattergun shooting of one’s own shadow.
A brilliant, clever, broken junkyard of an album, often compositionally and melodically so gaspingly good, I’ve completely fallen for large chunks of it. Yet at times (too many times) SOS risks coming off like self-exposing fan service for the lowest common denominator of the TikTok succubus mob. It’s too long. It may be two great albums. I might have a go at dividing the tracks myself. And this is an odd conclusion to draw from listening to a record and doing a bit of casual online reading about an artist – but I’ve ended up where I started, with a snowballing worry that SZA has enough greatness to be still higher up the food chain, and what she needs and deserves is better service from the business plods around her. So they tell her less and listen to her more. So they help her stop worrying about herself and better trust the value of what she already contributes, which is both bloody and golden.

Solid Advice For Creating An Article Marketing Plan
The Internet makes it so much easier to share information with people. Most up and coming business owners should feel happy that so much information is shared online. The information contained here makes using article marketing to broaden exposure a snap. Avoid inundating indexes with endless copies of exactly one article. There are lots of article indexes that you can use in article marketing. It is easy to be tempted to submit the same article again and again to the vast number of indexes out there. Search engines are also aware of this technique and will penalize your ranking for it. After you have created content for a while, your articles will be throughout the internet. You can compile your best works in one eBook to either give away or sell. If you have a good e-book, it is sure to be widely shared, which will lead to an increase in business. Use a variety of writing levels and vocabulary in your articles. For instance, if the product you are marketing is of a technical nature, then put that information in the article. Because not everyone will be familiar with the technical terms, explain them in simple terms, too. Keeping everyone informed with detailed explanations will earn more respect, and give you credibility with your entire audience. Do your homework on the rules of the article directory. Each directory has its own submission regulations. When you are writing articles, always include items that are relevant to the links and keywords in your blog. Through the title, keywords, links, and summary, everything has to be interconnected. Search engines will become confused if your information does not match up properly. Do your best to provide original content. Being mysimba cena warszawa is the best way to maintain your business's marketing position. Because duplicate-content filters continue to evolve, writing just to write, and doing so in a copycat manner, will not serve you well in the long run. Article marketing isn't a market that contains rarefied knowledge. If some guru tries to sell you a "secret method", run away screaming. Research businesses as a means to inform yourself about article marketing. Article marketing is a fairly easy way to get your name out there. For natural back-linking, create quality content that webmasters want to promote. While it's tempting to fill your website with spun articles, it is not recommended. If these articles do not have any type of quality content, then nobody will want to link with them and you may have to do your own link building. If you write high quality content, it will attract other webmasters to link back to you. In writing, use words that evoke emotions to draw the reader into what you are saying. Good writing should form a bond between the reader and you. While businesslike language definitely has its place, the aim is to keep the attention of your visitor as long as possible so as to maximize sales potential. Do this by using warm and expressive language. Your articles will only be successful if they offer readers something new. You'll find that Google rewards unique content and punishes articles which are published elsewhere. mysimba opinie of writing enterprises provide inexpensive content, and it makes sense to compare costs in order to find the one that best suits your budget. When you select keywords that consumers use to search articles, your marketing is more successful. Most businesses provide services to help with this that range in cost from $100 to even $500! However, Google has a Keyword Tool that provides incredible results completely free of charge. You need to be aware of any changes in how effective your keywords are to continue to be successful. Each article should include about 400 to 600 words. Articles of this length are long enough to be interesting, but not so long that visitors will tire of reading. Lengthy articles will cause readers to become uninterested, and could cause them to move on. You should be straight forward and keep it clear and concise. If you are not aware of this marketing brand, then we can assume these suggestions proved enlightening to you. Some of these tips are very simple, and you will find that writing quality articles is feasible if you have some common sense. There shouldn't be anything to surprise you here, except for things you didn't notice in the past.

Week 3: Digital Community.
DOES TUMBLR HAVE ITS WAYS OF FUNCTIONING AS A DIGITAL COMMUNITY? LET ME ANSWER.
Tumblr? You must be new for it!
Tumblr media
This meme from Gene Wilder who portrayed Willy Wonka in the making of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) received a massive of users in the early 2010s, most widely accepted as the meme for early Tumblr users (2007) (Allison Maura Mccracken et al., 2020).
However, after 3 years of adoption, most users still took this meme as they were not quite familiar with the platforms. Even today, users with wide background knowledge of social media are still confused with Tumblr when trying it in the first place.
So, what is exactly Tumblr? Was it a blog or some random social media networking site?
David Karp founded Tumblr as a multimedia microblogging social media platform at the age of 21 (Allison Maura Mccracken et al., 2020).
It’s kinda funny, isn’t it? It’s the mix of both “Blog” and “social media” ! Making it ways more interesting approach at first.
What is a blog compared to social media?
Blog: A type of website that is usually maintained by a single person and contains regular postings of commentary, event descriptions, or other media such as images or videos (What Is Blog | IGI Global, n.d.).
Let’s clarify what is “Blog”!
youtube
Social media: New types of media that allow for interactive engagement where one person can communicate with many people with possibly fast feedback (Manning, 2014).
Clarifying and Simplifying the term “Social Media”!
youtube
A Tumblr post can get popular in a matter of hours and potentially spread to other social media platforms (Moreau, 2020).
What makes Tumblr so special?
1. Tumblr enables users to easily and quickly share and repurpose a variety of materials, such as image-based memes, GIF, videos, short or long-format text, etc. (Allison Maura Mccracken et al., 2020).
2. Tumblr, unlike other social networking sites at the time, provided users a lot of leeway in terms of changing the design of their blogs to promote users' creativity, aesthetic preference, and customization. (Allison Maura Mccracken et al., 2020).
3. Tumblr lacks personal profiles or "friends" networks, therefore many "Tumblrs" are formed anonymously and the owners are difficult to identify. One of the most crucial factors fueling social engagement on Tumblr was the anonymity function. The most frequent ideology is feminism. Many teenage girls said that Tumblr is their favourite place for conveying their stories, thoughts, and sentiments about sexism, gender discrimination, and so on since it makes them feel safer and more comfortable without the risk of offending. (Keller, 2019)
4. The Tumblr platform invites users to interact through images and serve as content curators by uploading both original and "reblogged" content. This technique creates an enormous atmosphere for any school of thought, regardless of who is the inventor.
5. Tumblr, like other social networking sites, employs Hashtag (#) to group like-minded individuals so that they may filter the information they want to read.

How Digital Marketing Firms Can Help You Achieve Goals?
or individuals, goal setting can help to create a sense of direction and purpose in life. It helps people to focus on what they want to achieve, whether it be finding a successful career, getting healthier, or saving money for the future. Goal setting provides the guidance and motivation needed to stay on track and get things done.
For companies, goals can provide a sense of alignment between departments and employees. By having clear objectives in place, everyone knows their individual roles towards achieving overall business success.
Goals also help teams stay motivated by giving them something tangible to work towards as well as providing an opportunity for reflection and growth when these goals are met or exceeded. Additionally, goals provide feedback on progress over time so management teams can make adjustments accordingly if necessary.
How Can You Achieve Goals with the Help of Digital Marketing Firms?
With the help of web design and digital marketing specialists, you can tap into an unlimited number of business-building opportunities. It’s like having an entire team dedicated to helping make your website more visible to potential customers. Here are some of the best ways to achieve goals −
Creating Unique Website Design
By creating a unique and engaging website, businesses can establish trust with their clients and foster long-term customer relationships. Digital marketing professionals are experienced in SEO techniques that enable websites to get discovered on search engines such as Google or Bing.
Accessing the Best Social Media Platforms
Social media platforms give businesses the chance to build relationships with followers so that they stay up-to-date on product developments or new services being offered by companies. Ad campaigns are also available through online channels, allowing you to target specific audiences interested in your services or products.
For every stage of development within a business, there are often helpful services available from web designers and digital marketers who are eager to help make your site stand out among its competitors while providing valuable advice along the way!
Accessing Latest Technologies and Tools
Tools like content creation platforms and social media scheduling programs, can increase productivity for digital marketers and give them access to a wealth of valuable data. This allows us to make informed decisions about which campaigns are performing well or what strategies may not be working at all. Smartphones also play an important role because they allow us to stay connected with our teams while on the go.
Furthermore, apps such as Slack and HootSuite enable quick responses in real-time communication regarding campaigns, customers’ needs, and changes in the market. The variety of tools available today is huge – digital marketers must look into purchasing multiple websites at once or separate ones that meet their specific needs – making it even more challenging for us to keep up with technology!
Creating Content for Conversions
By engaging with a digital marketing agency, you’ll be able to develop content that resonates with your target audience. We’ll help to identify what interests them and the kind of language they respond to.
A lot of businesses make the mistake of using too much industry jargon or creating content that is too generic — this leaves the user feeling unengaged and confused about why they should spend their time reading a piece of writing or viewing a video related to your business.
Professional marketers understand how important it is for your customers to connect emotionally with your brand in order for them to become loyal customers, so we strive to create content that provides users with an enjoyable experience no matter where they come from.
Growing Digital Presence
You need a well-rounded approach to digital marketing to ensure you’re reaching the right people and delivering relevant content that resonates with them. That means understanding who your audience is, what they are looking for, and how they prefer to consume content.
In addition to stellar SEO techniques and data-driven strategies, we also create attractive visual elements including videos, images, infographics, and interactive content such as polls or calculators designed to engage potential customers on their preferred platforms.
Creating an Impactful SEO Strategy
Your content strategy must remain unique and relevant to you, as well as engaging. Content marketing works best when it aligns with user intent; gives your target audience what they’re searching for as opposed to playing the guessing game.
Research your keywords, focus on semantically related terms, and don’t forget about local SEO – this will help you work smarter and not harder. Image optimization is equally important for a successful SEO campaign; files should be compressed yet keep their quality in order to meet page-load speed requirements.
Developing Long and Short-term Strategies
An analysis of your current digital marketing strategy is an important part of strategizing success. This allows the agency to see what’s working, what isn’t, and where improvements can be made. They will look at KPIs like website traffic, engagement levels on social media platforms, and conversions that result in leads or sales for a comprehensive picture.
Digital marketing experts will help you make changes to develop campaigns that have greater focus and increase overall ROI. They can also identify trends in the industry related to demographics, customer journeys, search engine results position (SERP) strategies, etc., so you are better able to target audiences with more relevant content.
Constant Monitoring Campaigns and Analytics
Through detailed analytics, digital marketing agencies can pinpoint the weak spots in an original campaign as well as which areas succeeded beyond expectations. Digital consultants have access to a range of specialized tools that collect and analyze data quickly and express it in a way people can understand just as easily.
By understanding what works, they can encourage businesses to make more informed decisions about their strategies going forward, helping the business maximize its potential by prioritizing objectives based on performance – because different channels appeal to different audiences.
Staying Updated on the Latest Trends
Companies must keep up with the ever-changing digital landscape. To do this, companies will need to remain informed about changes in SEO monitoring and analytics tools that can produce a better understanding of changes that may affect their website visibility or incoming traffic. Utilizing new SEO techniques and trends is also important for staying relevant with customers who are more tech-savvy than ever before.
Helping You in Defining Target Audience
By understanding who your target audience is, you can create content that’s tailored to them. You can use different strategies like email campaigns, video marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media management to reach the right people.
For example, if you’re targeting young adults in a specific area of the country, then using Instagram might be more effective than using Twitter or Facebook. Digital marketing agencies help you understand consumer behavior and craft campaigns specifically for your target audience.
Conclusion
The agency you decide to work with should have an experienced team of professionals, a proven track record, and plenty of industry knowledge. It’s also important that they stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques, such as SEO optimization or mobile marketing.
Furthermore, make sure that the digital marketing agency you hire is passionate about what they do – because passion translates into the dedication and innovative ideas for your campaigns.

Floating in the Deep End by Patti Davis
With the heartfelt prose of a loving daughter, Patti Davis provides a life raft for the caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. “For the decade of my father’s illness, I felt as if I was floating in the deep end, tossed by waves, carried by currents, but not drowning,” writes Patti Davis in this searingly honest and deeply moving account of the challenges involved in taking care of someone stricken with Alzheimer’s. When her father, the fortieth president of the United States, announced his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in an address to the American public in 1994, the world had not yet begun speaking about this cruel, mysterious disease. Yet overnight, Ronald Reagan and his immediate family became the face of Alzheimer’s, and Davis, once content to keep her family at arm’s length, quickly moved across the country to be present during “the journey that would take [him] into the sunset of [his] life.”
Empowered by all she learned from caring for her father―about the nature of the illness, but also about the loss of a parent―Davis founded a support group for the family members and friends of Alzheimer’s patients. Along with a medically trained cofacilitator, she met with hundreds of exhausted and devastated attendees to talk through their pain and confusion. While Davis was aware that her own circumstances were uniquely fortunate, she knew there were universal truths about dementia, and even surprising gifts to be found in a long goodbye. With Floating in the Deep End, Davis draws on a welter of experiences to provide a singular account of battling Alzheimer’s.

Should Domain Authority and Page Authority Matter to You?
Tumblr media
Page authority and domain authority are two important metrics that measure the ranking potential of a website in search engines. They are often used by SEO experts and webmasters to evaluate the performance and quality of their websites. However, there are many misconceptions and myths about these metrics that can lead to confusion and poor SEO decisions. In this article, we will explain what page authority and domain authority are, how they are calculated, and how they can be improved. We will also debunk some common myths and mistakes about these metrics and provide some best practices for using them effectively. By the end of this article, you will have a clear understanding of page authority and domain authority and how to use them to boost your SEO strategy. Is domain authority necessary? The answer is yes, but not as much as other ranking signals. There is no doubt about Domain Authority, Page Authority and the importance of these metrics. The internet is a powerful tool for people to connect in unexpected ways, but it does not always work well. There is so much noise on the internet and no way to distinguish genuine content from spammy rubbish, particularly when it comes to Page Authority which in essence has less meaning than ever before. This is because too much fake or insufficiently informed information is put on the internet, which does not improve the understanding and relevance of these metrics, but only confuses readers even more. The article gives you comprehensive and, above all, fact-based information on what these metrics mean and how you can use them. Understanding domain authority Domain Authority and Page Authority are two important metrics that you need to understand very well. Because they will help you predict and in many cases determine the user experience and performance of your website. However, if you follow what most SEO "gurus" say about these metrics, you will end up frustrated or at best waste your time trying to increase them expecting to get more traffic than they can really mean. Introduction to Website Authority in General The authority of a website is the general feeling that robots or algorithms and humans assign to a website, based on trust in the content of the website and the interactions that the website stimulates. In general, the authority of a website is not a single metric, but several indicators based on trust in the content and interactions, among other things. While Domain Authority takes into account the value of the external links the domain receives from other domains, and Page Authority takes into account not only the external links. Also the internal links, these two metrics work together as part of a variety of ranking signals to increase the authority of a website. Which ranking signals help to increase the authority of my website? Domain Authority and Page Authority are not ranking factors that Google uses to rank websites. deeper than this, These metrics include a number of ranking factors like: - Links pointing to a website. - The quality and quantity of those links. - The relevancy of these websites that points to your content. - Social sharing of the content of the website. - Dwelling time of users interactions. - Site performance in terms of usability and user experience. Ranking signals like the ones described above are not based on criteria that can be correctly measured by a single metric. The Domain Authority and Page Authority metrics are merely indicators of the quality of your website, but they do not have an influence on ranking. Define "domain authority. Domain authority is a metric made up of many other metrics, not just backlinks as too many out there claim. Google uses a complex set of metrics to achieve something like Domain Authority. Yes, you can still call it Domain Authority, but you need to update your understanding of it. Think of a trusted or authoritative website rather than a domain with authority. The only authority you should care about is in your industry and with your target audience. Believe me, if you focus on giving your audience what they want, you will gain ten times more industry authority than domain authority. When it comes to SEO metrics, third-party tools should not be considered the only indicators of a website's authority. Do not confuse Google's performance metrics. Here is why. Unveiling the Secrets of Domain Authority - Domain authority is a value Google assigns to websites based on how reliable it deems them to be. - 👎 Fake - By Google's standards, the higher your Domain Authority, the more credible your website is. - 👎 Fake - Domain Authority is also a measure of how much power and influences your website has. - 👎 Fake Domain Authority is measured on a 100-point scale, with the highest score being 100 (the best). - This is true, but only if you want to rank for Moz and not Google. Moz.com is the inventor of this Domain Authority metric. A piece of professional advice: Try to rank for Google, not for Moz. Importance of age and trust for a Domain As in life, so it is in the world of search engine optimisation. You can achieve a lot, but still not rank as well as your competitors and vice versa. The solution to this is to earn the trust of your audience, and trust is not something you gain overnight. You have to work at it. This is where the age of your domain plays an important role in gaining trust. There are a variety of scenarios we can use, but let us use the two most common ones: - An old company launches a new website and uses its brand name in its domain. - A new company uses its brand in its domain. Scenario one is a common scenario where long-established businesses decide to have an online presence. This is an advantage for that business because its domain will receive visitors who, among other things, were already customers. Scenario two is even more common but as common as it is, it will be difficult for a new business to gain trust with a new domain. Of course, the company can acquire an old domain, one with some history that can help it boost its online business. But there is still no qualified audience to bring the domain into the business. You can buy ages, but you have to earn the trust. Because search engines are smart enough to know that the domain was not yours 3 weeks ago. So there is one thing you should not forget: Trust has to be earned. Comparing Domain Popularity and Domain Authority People are talking about your online business everywhere: on social media, blogs and forums. If you are not listening to what's being said about your business or product, someone else probably is. The popularity of your domain is the best-hidden ranking factor of all. Good or bad, popularity is popularity. All you need to keep in mind is to abide by the law and do clean business. The rest are opportunities that you can't simply ignore. In case you didn't get it: Encourage people to talk about your business on all online channels possible or that make sense for your business. Therein lies the key, not only to increase the trustworthiness of your website but also to bring business to your website. What insights does domain authority provide? A domain authority says different things depending on how you measure it. For example, if you look at Domain Authority from Moz, Ahrefs or any other tool that uses backlink-related metrics to determine that metric. Then the DA will tell you things like: How many backlinks your website has in relation to the topic centre or the same Domain Authority of the domains that link to your website?  Basically, DA tells you something different for each website. But if you look at it from the right angle, you will understand that this metric is not an indicator of possible better ranking positions in search results. On the contrary, if you have manipulated the acquisition of backlinks to such an extent that Google's Penguin algorithm has detected the abuse and withdrawn trust from your website (if you can call it that). Then your DA may be 100, but the popularity of your website is simply zero, and consequently, no traffic is directed to your website. Authority explained, the voice of trust in search engines. Search engine trust in a website is determined by two important factors: visitor engagement with published content and algorithm ranking. Both work together in the search engines' indexed databases to determine a website's relevance to a search query. In short, the voice of trust depends on the quality of the information and the trustworthiness of the content provided. What does Google say About Domain Authority? According to John Mueller, a webmaster trends analyst, Google explicitly does not measure the authority of a website. Instead, Google uses a combination of metrics to determine the popularity of websites in an industry. Check the video below to see Mueller's explanation. https://youtu.be/MD6ABXMMuaI?t=1430 But why is there so much noise about Domain Authority? Despite Google's clear statement that Domain Authority is not used as a metric or ranking factor, people, and I mean the vast majority, still hold on to it. More than that, there is even a whole industry on the internet dedicated to this topic. But why is that? Well, quite simply because of a misunderstanding that is almost generalised. As mentioned earlier, DA is not just one metric, but a combination of metrics. Google uses even more metrics to determine not DA, but WA (website authority in the sense of popularity). In simple words, the more popular your domain is, the more authority it has, not based on a number, but on user interactions. Forget the metric, it's just a number. Start caring about people liking your content, give them the kind of information they can not easily find anywhere else. At the latest when others copy your content, Google and other search engines will clearly see that the source of the content is probably your website. Are Domain Rating and Domain Authority interchangeable terms? Let us cut to the chase, folks, DA and DR are practically one and the same. The first is a creation of Moz, which you see at the top of this text. And the domain rating is a metric from ahrefs.  Are they an indicator of website traffic? BIG No.  Are they an indicator of backlinks? Yes, they are both. Would you like to know more? Have you seen the film? (Starship Tropper) I Bet You Want to Know More! No one has informed you of the unfortunate reality regarding Domain Authority. Domain Authority, Domain Rating, Domain Score, all these metrics are useless when it comes to organic traffic. Yes, you can manipulate the profile of your inbound and outbound backlinks, but if you do not add value to your audience, your dominance will not last long. Majestic, Moz, ahrefs, Semrush and all other third-party SEO metrics providers use their own database of backlinks and keywords to deliver their results. Not Google databases! Keep this in mind if you use one of these providers.  You can easily check this. Let us look at some examples in real-time: Speed.cy DR based on ahrefs: Speed SEO Domain Rating Based on Ahrefs! Speed.cy Domain authority based on Moz: Speed SEO Domain Authority Based on Moz! Speed.cy Domain authority based on Semrush: Speed SEO Domain Authority Score Based on SemRush! Each of the above SEO tools provides different results in terms of authority, ranked keywords, backlinks, traffic, etc. But do not get confused, the tools base their results on their own databases of backlinks, keywords, images, etc. Imagine asking someone what love is. Everyone will have their own explanation based on their own experiences. How on earth did I get from DA to love? a puzzle! Equally a puzzle is all the metrics Google uses to determine a website's relevance to a particular keyword based on the website's performance profile. You do not need to crack the code here, just keep providing valuable content. Let the search engine do its work. It already provides us with the Code: the relevance of the content. Domain Authority and Page Authority are not ranking factors that Google uses to rank websites. These metrics are broken down into several algorithms within Google's clusters of servers that take into account, among other things, the number of links to a website, the quality and quantity of those links, the relevance of those external links to your content, interactions, technical performance and so on. Should I Care About Having a good domain authority? You should care about high domain popularity, forget about domain authority. It is the popularity of your domain that counts in the search results. If the popularity of your domain is high, your chances of landing in the top results are better. This process does not happen overnight.  First, search engine crawlers will render your page to shop it in their database and run a series of algorithms over your on-page content to look for ranking signals, security measures, warning signals and other checks. All these algorithms and processes result in your website being ranked in the search engine's databases of indexed websites. While your website is in these databases, crawlers continue to crawl your web pages, looking for social signals or signals of human interaction with your content. The latter plays a crucial role when it comes to ranking.  For example: My website is new, speed.cy has been online for a little over 8 months, and yet the search engines do not trust the content 100%. But based on the reactions of my audience, Google ranks my website better than other, much older websites, for some keywords. Here is a real-life example: Domain Authority is Just Promoting a Fake Industry, Not Your Website! You do not have to rely on my words, you can check your local search results to see if my site ranks better for that keywords than older sites. That is probably the case. In Cyprus, I see this result.  Note the difference between the domain scores on Ahrefs: speed.cy DR 7 vs wordpress.org DR 98. Is my website getting more organic traffic than WordPress? A clear no. This shows once again how little important a higher domain authority is for organic traffic. Wake up! Is a higher or lower domain authority better? Stop trying to get those numbers up. That will not get your website much further than providing content that really matters to search engines and people. That's the bottom line of this article. Not that you do not need backlinks, you do, yes you do. But let them grow naturally if you provide valuable content, as Mr Smith used to say, "After all, it's inevitable". Getting Natural backlinks With Good Content is Inevitable! Backlinks come by themselves. Yes, but so will a targeted audience if you write the right content. It does not get any better if your website is popular in the CBD industry and your business is about fitness. The truth is that people work out faster with CBD in the gym, but that's another thing! Do not change the topic! Where is the importance of domain authority? There is a certain degree of importance that we can assign to domain authority, but always in relation to domain popularity. Internally, however, within the domain of your own website, the authority of your homepage is crucial. You need to ensure that link equity is properly distributed across your pages. If you do not have a good internal link structure, the search engine crawlers will not understand your website properly, resulting in poor performance. As you can see, Domain Authority starts with your strongest page, usually the home page, and should extend to all other important pages. Internally, you are free to manipulate backlinks, from one page to another, but within your own domain. This is because crawlers pay special attention to your internal backlinks, anchor texts, semantic content, bundled articles and other things when understanding your website. If we look at it from the human side of crawling, visitors will easily jump from one page to another based on the internal links you use on your pages, which can help them complete the information they are looking for. When Is Domain Authority Important? When you work on the structure of your website, the search engine crawlers try to evaluate your domain popularity. Because you call it domain authority, Google calls it domain popularity or page relevance. If you want to give it a name that Google will accept, just call it website popularity. If you want to annoy Google, tell it about your strong domain authority, and it will probably ignore it. The so-called "LSI keywords" are also a big misunderstanding, which we have explained in this article: Truth About LSI Keywords That no one Tells You. How can I increase the popularity of my domain? Now you are asking the right questions, my padawan. It is quite simple. You can start now by making sure your domain meets all the technical SEO optimisation criteria. You must first get your website in order to prepare it for popularity. Otherwise, visitors will get frustrated when they look forward to reading great content on your website but your website takes forever to load. You do not want to lose momentum. Then you need to brainstorm with your team about which social networks are good for your business. Focus on working with the ones that make the most sense for your industry. And then there are the business directories. Depending on your online marketing strategy, it may be a good idea to get your website listed in the main business directories in your area. This will boost your local SEO efforts. Then you have PR or press releases. These are great for informing others about the launch of your online business or simply introducing a new offer or product. Do not forget Google my business, you need this free tool or the premium version, it's up to you, but you definitely need it. Post Content People Want to Read Finally, and no less important, you should focus on publishing content that will attract the attention of your competitor that you have to beat. You should also make sure that educational institutions find your content relevant enough to need for their supporting teaching materials. So that's the bottom line: - Get your website's technical SEO in order. - Choose the social networks that are important for your business and syndicate your content and promote your products there, whether you post for free or pay to boost your posts, use them. - List your business domain in local or international business directories. - Post press releases regularly to promote your brand and business. - Create content with interesting information relevant to your industry and to educational institutions or even government agencies. What's a good website authority score? If you are asking yourself this question, you have learned nothing from what has been mentioned in this article. You should scroll up and start again. But let us wallow in this question a little longer before I gouge your eyes out. The domain authority of your website is important. If you are competing with another domain authority lover, you should aim for 100, my friend! However, if you are focused on providing great content to your readers, then good website authority depends on the interactions your websites generate. There are no points for this. Just compare your organic traffic to the number of conversions your business is driving - the bigger the latter number, the better. Domain authority checker tools I mean, why? Okay, you need this. There are many tools to check your Domain Authority, but here you have the 4 best: - Moz - Ahrefs - Semrush - Majestic They all have their own database and their own metrics, but if you decide to use one of these databases, you should take a look at Majestic. That's because Majestic does not just give you the average number of backlinks identified for your website. Read the full article

Tears in the Crowds
A tyrant on a corrupt throne
A sheep about to become a genetic clone
A weary traveller far away from home
A heroin addict on methadone
Graveyards of peace and quiet lament
An ungrateful niece,
Dead bodies in cement
The Biblical Golden Fleece
Friedrick Nietzsche’s torment
We look to each other for strength through the terrain
Some don’t stop to bother when saturated in pain
Like volcanic ash clouds pouring out acid rain
And satanic slash crowds worshipping the insane
I’ll refrain from the point of the story today
With this unintentional darkness so much on display
It’s all about whether you walk the right path the right way
And consider whatever you have to then say
The innocence of childhood refusing to let it go
The recompense of wildwoods as the oldest trees cease to grow
It’s like falling down onto your knees in the pure white snow
And begging for somebody please to tell you where life needs to flow
There’s an angry mob waiting with torches and rakes
And a whole culture of people who make money from being fakes
I could find it quite funny if it weren’t such a terrible mistake
As the day grows less sunny and night begins to break
We wonder this planet just looking for conquests
And plunder this environment in hideous contests
For oil and copper and carbon and gas contents
No wonder the atmosphere has decided to energetically vent
I cannot condone this apathetic approach
To nuclear war keeping alive a cockroach
A subject one wouldn’t even dare to even broach
Is open for discussion when riding in coach
There’s no obvious mechanism for systemic solution
Nor any long term strategy to cut back on pollution
While governments create catastrophe and generate more confusion
The wealthy are eating for free while the poor collide in confusion
There’s legitimate acts of war crimes and genocide
While they distort the facts and cover up what they can hide
Whatever statement retracts , it’s like sniffing fermaldahyde
On the day that your mother and father have died
It’s reality that’s gripping me
I’m not being intentionally depressing
It’s the entropy of the Ignomy, an adult psychologically regressing
All the while the emergency is continually pressing
So close to uncertainty as the criminal is confessing
So send me a blessing while I’m out convalescing
And looking for wounds that need tenderly dressing
Just as hearts need the soft touch of gentle caressing
It’s the collective willpower I’m damn well contesting
So brighten up the perspective lest you drown yourself in fear
And lighten up the corrective concepts that draw near
And hold on to what you have known to hold dear
Because the crowds and the masses are breaking down in tears

another franchise that confused fun for a well*-placed (*in practice: poorly) comedian and snappy pacing— recent poirot movies. kenneth branagh sucks for a whole variety of reasons but a big one is his total failure to make any aspect of those movies fun or compelling. this is of course fascinating bc agatha christie adaptations SCREAM for particular kinds of updating in their sensibilities and outlook, and their plots all need profound winnowing down, and yet! consistently makes them worse!
if i were in a typing mood— and more dauntingly, if i were in the mood to rewatch turdy death on the nile (2022)— i’d note at greater length that there’s something to be said about how, despite its copious other flaws, the movie’s greatest flaw is its desire to give poirot traumatic Depth. one thing i found compelling in parul seghal’s “the trauma plot” was that the lede uses the word “mystery” to describe the particular aesthetics of depth inherent in the trauma plot— i don’t think seghal uses the word in the article proper, nor does she ever appear to be working in the register of the mystery narrative. for indeed not all that which is first hidden then brought to life is a mystery! nor must it share the mystery narrative’s ethos about revelation. but the kinds of depth that trauma plots create (or insist on in taking trauma as the primal scene of depth) are necessarily adversarial to the arc of the mystery narrative; they work on different timescales (the trauma plot discovers the past to describe the disorderly present; the mystery uncovers the past in order to get beyond a disorderly present) and have radically distinct trajectories (the trauma plot is normalizing and explanatory, whereas the mystery explains abnormality). the other adversarial aspect is their singularity, for they are quite structurally similar, but in ways which seem to constantly jostle.
again i am no agatha christie stan but one pronounced feature of her mysteries is the relative shallowness of her detectives. this doesn’t need much investigation— neither (poirot nor marple) are particularly familiar with love or prone to violence, which makes them keener observers of it. they work by analogy which isn’t as hierarchical as it would be if they were more like the people involved in their cases. they’re often able to interact with the world around them as narrative as a result: they’re less personally involved in it, and it lays less claim to them than to others. death on the nile 2022 sees this as insufficient (poirot MUST nurse a dark past, MUST have some horrible loss pushing his fastidious dandiness, MUST be personally involved in the crime) and reacts accordingly. maybe the lesson here is that we’re outgrowing older forms of narrative in favor of neater and more contrived narrative impulses (it reminds me of neil gaiman and robert zemeckis deciding that beowulf’s loose ends should all be tied up by making it an expansive family drama, the tragedy of fathers failing their monstrous sons, which i also think is a dogshit oversimplification of an interesting narrative complexity worth preserving), and in so doing running unprofitably against the problem of franchising and rebooting and so on: the unstoppable force of recycling content, the immovable object of old forms. something like glass onion ostensibly trades on the tradition of golden age whodunits (as well as, oh my god rian johnson, their catharsis), but uncomfortably. this is perhaps the most teleological of all narrative forms and as such is not easily derailed (disrupted!) even by a partial restructuring.
point being that this era of reboots and remakes and tie-ins and reduxes and Doing Another One Of That Thing and so on is interesting in terms of how obviously creators want to update their source material yet seem fundamentally unwilling to accept that ethos and ideology are inherent in narrative form as much as they are in narrative content. and, of course, also that they’re really stuck in a position where redoing something is the surer bet than trying something new (most notably in movies and tv), so there’s only so much leeway that this desire to make stuff actually reflective of their tastes and values actually has.
