Lisa

When Lisa was woken up in the middle of the night by something hitting her body, her eyes immediately darted towards the direction from whence it came from, only to be greeted by the sight of you turning and tossing around. And while her still half asleep brain was just about to speak up, she quickly put a hold on her plan, realizing that you were still sleeping. Something that only caused her to get more confused.

While there were times she saw you move one of your limbs when it laid on something uncomfortable, that was mostly it, no matter how hot or cold it was, no matter how often she pulled the blanket all the way towards her side of the bed, you would remain as stationary as a rock. So seeing your sleeping form move this much was somewhat weird.

At first, she was just going to wait for you to stop moving around before lying down once again, making sure that you had found a comfortable position to sleep, but when you didn’t show any signs of stopping, and instead began periodically mumbling to yourself, Lisa slowly began to put the pieces together.

Before you had any chance to move around for even a single second longer, Lisa grabbed your head and softly pressed it against her chest, petting your hair with one hand while holding you with the other, only to silently smile to herself when you stopped moving once again, your breaths calming down in parallel to your heart beat.

“Were you having a nightmare, darling?”, she asked in a whisper, not being surprised in the slightest about your lack of an answer, falling asleep shortly afterwards.

You wouldn’t be plagued by nightmares for at least a week afterwards.

Thanks for the ask! Lilith's character was fleshed out for my AU, which is a canon-divergent AU for Obey Me I had been working on since 2020 that surprisingly, had a lot of its elements/lore become canon throughout the years lmao. Also, I'm sorry if this is more of a Father lore dump than Lilith it's just He's deeply connected to the Celestial War cause He was the reason it even happened in the first place.;;

⭐General Info 05

Which deadly sin best aligns with them? Which one do they embody the least?

Ever since I was writing for Lilith in 2020, I had always made Satan her parallel. She is the reason why Satan looks the way he is: Satan's penchant for pranking Lucifer as a way of showing affection reminiscent of the playful and sisterly affection Lilith has with Lucifer. She is the reason why Lucifer is clouded with nostalgia and regret instead of annoyance and anger whenever Satan attempts to put a curse on him/prank him etc, because Satan resembles the sibling he failed to protect. Satan is arguably the one he spoils the most because he fills in what he had lost/whom in his eyes, he had failed and "disappointed", despite the fact that he will never admit it himself.

Of course, just because she is the reason for Satan's existence in my HC doesn't mean she and Satan are the same person. While Satan embodied wrath, the sin of lust embodies Lilith the most. In OG Obey Me, love was Lilith's driving force to committing a taboo. In my own interpretation of lust and love, both concepts are like "sisters" to each other. At times, the lines between love and lust blur. Lilith fell in love. A love deep enough that caused her to question how her Father ran the Celestial Realm. It was love, a strong desire that she knew would always be a dream. A castle in the air. A wish that can never come true. The difference between canon Lilith and my Lilith is she had done something far, far worse than loving a human. She dared to question her Creator AND fall in love with another god, Father's equal, which had of course given Father more of a motive to punish her severely. But love and lust are not the only driving forces that drove Lilith to fight back from Father's judgement; it is of course a big influence nonetheless.

I would say out of all the seven deadly sins, sloth would be the least compatible with her. Lilith is very much a go-getter and a stubborn-headed, reckless bullheaded woman who would even fight God (she actually did in my fic lmao) to protect the people she cares about, to fight for the inequality and apathy she had been seeing in how Father ran the Celestial Realm, no matter how powerless she was or how little chances she had to actually win. This woman is GRIT personified.

Well, Lilith had passed away long before RAD was established so she wouldn't really have much of a reaction. /hj

Kidding aside, due to her experiences in the Celestial War, she is very sceptical if it would actually result into something, given how she and her brothers lost the war and gradually realised their Father is a selfish prick and "cares" in a very self-serving Old Testament kind of way and would never actually let it happen. Father's got a really big ego, is easily jealous, and hates the idea of His children loving other gods or superior beings besides Him. Even if the two other Realms are willing to negotiate, she knows it will lead to nowhere so long as Father remains…Father.

But I think she would warm up to the idea once she sees how much rizz her descendant has. MC pretty much inherited her stubbornness/grit that it might actually be possible make the Demon Prince's dream into a reality.

I tried to condense it as much as I could, but tl;dr is Lilith despises Father. Even after her husband Samael eventually forgave Him. Nope. She will stay mad forever.

Very much. My AU is slightly different from the OG and NB timeline. The reason for the Celestial War is a lot more complicated than food being fed to a human. Rather than one solid reason, it's pretty much a spider webbed-shaped stack of dominoes that collapsed on each other. It's a mess. The mess leading to one common denominator: Father.

Why did the Celestial War happen because of Father? It's simple---Father is selfish. In my AU, Gods are complete beings on their own. They don't need anyone to be complete. You could say His motives to create humans into social creatures is His way of trying to detach them from being completely made "into His likeness". He's afraid of others taking His spot. He's better than everyone else. No one else deserves to be made exactly like His likeness, even His son (psst it's the J man). He could have easily made His son His equal just like how Samael did with his brother Leviathan (this is a lot of lore dump but basically in my AU, Levi is a god and is not related to the Demon Brothers at all, but is Samael/OC-fied Simeon's biological brother,that's why he can't exactly fit in well with other demons, even his own "brothers" cause he had never been a demon. His powers+memories were just sealed after protecting Lucifer and his siblings when they fell so he became one.) but instead, he made His son into a human.

While it's true that He does love humanity, a being that only knew love through loving Himself would inevitably love in a self-serving way (which is why when I heard in NB this is pretty much canon now, I'm not surprised cause it does have a rl lore backing. I haven't actually read the new NB chapters so my own judgement of how accurate it is to Old Biblical texts will be reserved in the future).

Father created "everything" but had proved to be incompetent in actually running the "everything he created from nothing", leaving the seraphim to clean up after Him. He's this divine being put in a pedestal but couldn't actually care less about His creations and only expresses love when He feels like it, much like your average Olympian god. There's inequality and power imbalance in the Celestial Realm but He could care less. Rather, the concept of "caring" is foreign to Him. Everyone is pretty much "equal" in His eyes. So what if the other angels are being mistreated or discriminated? When Father was making "laws", He actually didn't know ANYTHING about social relationships and humanity (gods are solitary beings in my AU) so a lot of them are contradictory or didn't make sense. The humans? Weak. Defenceless. Sure, let's thrown My son in there. Nothing could go wrong, right? In every thoughtless action He does, He just thinks "surely this wouldn't affect My children in a significantly negative way, right? Even if it does, I'll leave Lucifer and the other seraphim to fix it". Lucifer is TIRED. Lucifer wants to go to rebel! Oh wait-

All joking's aside, once Lilith discovered and realised that there are ACTUAL GODS besides Father, that's when her beliefs in Him started to shake, even more when she realised the seraphim, HER OWN BROTHER knows this from the start? That there's these two sibling gods that embodied contradictory traits from what they know what a god was, what Father was: Samael and Leviathan treat each other like family. The love each other like family, just like how Lilith loves her own family. They know they can exist without each other but STILL CHOSE TO STAY TOGETHER AND BE FAMILY TOGETHER. They're the opposite of what a seemingly independent, solitary being a god was. Samael was kind, thoughtful, a little cowardly and gloomy but he was also pure and selfless and loving and everything that Lilith could have ever wanted. He was also a god. Forbidden. Could not be. And he was trapped. Made to believe he was something he was not. Made to think he was this strange and horrifying monster for being different from his fellow "angels", and locked himself away.

There's a lot more, morally dubious and outright disgusting things that Father did especially to Samael that Lilith is understandably furious about but it's a lot and I don't want to overwhelm with more infodump but yes, Lilith did fight back and she was punished for it. Her brothers were punished for it. Leviathan who protected them was punished alongside them, and Samael punished himself for not being able to protect them. But to save her from being obliterated, Samael preserved Lilith's soul and kept it in the darkness until they can reunite when his duties have finally been fulfilled. He also sealed Leviathan's memories and made a deal with Father to give Levi a cover-up background story that he had always been one of Lucifer's siblings. It's a lot. Samael had reasons for it and I have an entire longfic that can explain more but I'll stop there lol. Thanks for reading!

Fighting for what's right. Lilith would willingly fall if it means she can make the lives of others better. Her fellow angels getting a better life and better treatment in the Celestial Realm is one of her other reasons why she fought against Father in the Celestial Realm.

bear with me here bc now i’m invested and i need to share:

if this ends in a hurt/no comfort, i can see it being y/n’s melancholic envy of not having anyone to love and be loved by bc that’s what living is supposed to be, especially at the end of the world, be their villain origin story. or even tragically losing that kind of comfort after just finally getting it.

having jongho and san (bc he’s working his way back into their heart whether they admit or not) to live for now could be the thing that gives y/n the strength and security they had needed, or it could very much be the thing that breaks them.

matz might be the apocalyptic equivalents of joker and lex luthor now, but like jongho said, they weren’t always so cruel and psychotic. a traumatic event involving the only people y/n has ever had any actual trust and/or care for (whether it be them dying or worse— being betrayed by them) after everything they’ve been thru could lead y/n to snap the way sh and hj did, if the parallels are as true as hj claims.

if not to that extreme, y/n could become the thing they hate the most— turning a blind eye to others’ sufferings and being complicit in it if it means making it thru another night without having to be in constant flight or flight mode in a doomed existence.

of course this is all just my reader’s brain running bc there’s so much you can envision with these type of situations and the dynamics that are born out of it. i get the feeling that the worst is yet to come and with everyone keeping their cards close to their chest, i can’t wait to see what happens !! keep up the good work !!

aside from the “all men have is the audacity” running theme, the other theme i wanted to explore in this fic is that all we have is Love. so what happens to people when they have no love? what will ppl do for the ones they love? and it’s not even necessarily romantic love either. i love how you put it that that’s what living is supposed to be because absolutely!!!! i have nothing i can say to everything else with absolute spoilers but i love what you have to say and 👀👀👀

the cards are slowly coming into play as we move forward (and because i don’t like to make these fics too long) i do want to finish this up in about 20 parts, so it’s pretty much like a house of cards. once one thing is revealed, everything will start toppling down if that makes sense

Ookokok... I watched the whole video and I have thoughts about certain parts of it...

I always have been so fascinated by space, universe, different dimensions, etc.. Even though I am not such a nerd about it, seeing how big and unique and so, so interesting the universe itself is it's just so- beautiful, honestly. And so interesting, too!

This is definitely one of my favorite videos, now.

This entire scene and beyond is literally what made my eyes glued to the screen, honestly.

lIKE- LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS OMG

The colors... The implications... The lighting... The cinematic in all of this… Literally everything about this scene and beyond is just so- so fricking beautiful and pretty and cinematic and- oh my God.

Alan and his team will always surprise me with this kind of stuff, honestly. Not that I'm complaining, though; I love surprises! (If It's a good surprise, that is.. xD)

First, just a orange stickfigure literally spawning into a black mathematics void, then into space, then now galaxy... This video is such a masterpiece, that's it.

Goddamn- King's power with the 2 Minecraft Icons already fascinated me enough, now this?! AAaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Once again, everything about this video is an absolutely masterpiece.

Orange finding a completely different version of themselves, then many other ones; Each one doing each their part, and now is Orange's turn to do their part.

I have no words that may correctly explain how I feel about this exact scene, but I feel many emotions, and I love every single one of them.

IM. IM BACK AGAIN LAST ASK FOR NOW I SWEAR. I JUST WANNA POINT OUT TWO THINGS: THE COLLAR DOES STILL CHANGE INTO A STAR, AND ALL THE CHARACTER SCREENS (the ones with stats) IN THE SECOND HALF OF RHE COMIC HAVE THE COLORS! Shag has Cyan, Bugs has Magenta, Five has Red, and Gadget has Brown (i think this us just meant to be "cant use ballyhoos"?), so there is 100% a theme with the colors. We just sorta need to answer the question of what connects Shag and Scoob, Bugs and Deedee, and Five and Mickey. Unless we get a brown being (i dont think we will?) Gadget is also probably confirmed to be completely unable to use Ballyhoos (shame bc i HC (/hj) him as not having any bc he walked onto set and immediately made some kid cry so he never actually acted in anything, got kicked off the stage LMAO)

HI I APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY, I'VE BEEN ZONED OUT MAKING PICREWS OF MY OC ROACH ALL FUCKING DAY.

Anyway YEAH YEAH YEAH HOLY SHIT.... I went back and looked at the character stat screens and holy SHIT you're so right oh my god- I completely did Not notice but you are So Right and I'm really interested to see the parallels for these characters....

I think the obvious answer for connecting Scoob and Shag is the bond between them, but I think there might be something to my earlier suggestion that the deal sorta like... Bound Them in a way?? Idk. As for Bugs and Deedee, I think it could be a matter of them having, in a way, slightly similar ideals and a drive to Help, and for Five and Mick... my first idea is that it's a personality similarity, but I'm not sure on that. Five doesn't seem as manipulative as Mickey is, but she IS very powerful and willing to experiment with her Ballyhoo to test its limits (based on the last update) and do whatever it takes to win. So, hey, might have to see where it goes on that front!

Also Gadget's probably is just to indicate that he doesn't have a Ballyhoo and never will, which ACTUALLY now that I think about it... I'm really intrigued by the idea of parallels between him and Shag, as the only two Toone characters (atm at least) who have no Ballyhoo. I am FASCINATED by the potential dynamic between them, and if the comic doesn't explore it I might suck it up and try to write something about that ASDFJKL;.

Anyway uhhh last thing I wanted to mention, but I was rereading some of the recent updates/part two in general today, and I noticed something interesting. Every other character we've seen make some sort of deal with an entity has colored eyes after the deal is made, and that seems to be permanent (or at least last as long as the deal does). However, Scoob's eyes are only cyan when he's actively using his Ballyhoo. I'm not sure what to make of that, but it's an interesting observation, and I doubt it's just an art style thing. It seems like an intentional choice.

So I recently read The Wasp's Nest by @demonslayedher, and as usual, began obsessing. I've been following the author here under my main blog for a while, and it's very easy to add onto or hyperfixate on their ideas. I genuinely can't find many blogs like theirs, but it's really cool; and I want to appreciate that.

Below the cut is going to be a simple collection of thoughts I had upon reading chapter one because,, oh my goodness; I have a lot?? For some reason? And I will probably never be able to use them myself.

Whether or not I make this a mini-series for every chapter or few chapters is. Up for debate. I have a lot going on in my personal life right now, so we'll see. This is just Mocha rambling about a cool fic instead of working on their own fics goodbye.

Please keep in mind I did not read chapter two.

Please read the following with only chapter one in mind. I had to force myself to avoid chapter two to ensure I would finish this post. And while I contemplating that art I wanted to post alongside the icons,, I concluded that would take too long. So. Later.

• You probably can't see it through the ugly filters but I used the opposite color from Kobayashi-San's hairclip for Mita's eyes. Vice versa for Kobayashi-San's eyes too.

• I know it looks more like green flame but I was actually trying to use water lilies as the motif for Kobayashi-San's eyes! :) I couldn't think of anything cool for Mita's,, so I made it the same flower shape as Koyuki-San's in vain efforts of referencing it to those round-winged butterflies people make? ,,,

• I can't really use butterfly symbolism for the clips. I also improvised on the colors since I really deadass did not know what colors to use. 💀 I didn't use light blue for the border of Kobayashi-San's because they reminded me of the flowers on Makomo's mask,, and I had a Hashira au where she had those colors on her own hairclip,,, I don't mind changing it if it helps the accuracy of the fic! >:)

• Speaking of hair clips,, you gave me a really good headcanon idea for Kanae rereading one of your older posts, but I will probably post it on it's own as a separate post.

• I'm automatically taking everything Mita says with a grain of salt?? Like she seems nice, just. She runs her mouth too much. Is it to cope? Hmm. It'd be interesting to see if Ichijo-Senpai had a larger impact on everyone than we're made aware. Like. Is it really so black and white that Kanao began smiling because of Kanae and Shinobu? Maybe she's just so used to seeing people die because of those other students that she really doesn't think the people she made it past final selection with won't make much of a difference. (I'm salty they were the only five because of plot armor, but that's a story for another day.)

• Mainly because of my personal unrelated headcanons, but I really don't think of Ichijo-Sempai as mean? But if she is,, I can see her contributing to Mita's general moodiness. Bad influences amirite. But also the possibility of her being generally nice and having her parallel one if not both of Mita and Kobayashi-San as we read along makes me weak in the knees.

• I couldn't decide if I liked freckles or facial acne for Mita better, so I gave her both and gave her that emo pale skin. Assholes don't get to have pretty faces I don't make the rules 🙄 (/hj).

• Shinobu, because of your content of her and how she acted in the fic gives me vibes of a practical woman who doesn't care for detailed or pretty looking things. Or believes in doing things simply because you like them. Which makes that scene of her eating with Giyuu even funnier. Like. "You're smiling at your food? D i s g u s t i n g." (/j).

• I'm also. Very sorry. Like VERY SORRY. BECAUSE FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T DRAW BLACK HAIR IT'S JUST NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME... Ya start with a color you think is close enough to black without being back. Then you add colored accents, put in shading. The lighting. And then, only when it's too late, you realize it. You've given them completely different hair colors. I swear I'm colorblind. (/sarc).

• I was also just too lazy to make the mouths. So they're pitch black and ugly. You're welcome :')

Here's the icons without filters! I originally wanted to make them edited with like gif thingy backgrounds?? BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW,, and I'm not waiting until chapter ten or worse is posted while I'm trying to figure this stuff out.

Before anyone asks, these are free to use, edit, etc. with credit. But really. I'm already cringing at several things in these icons. Really, where are Mita's ears even. Fjsnfjsjf.

What was your process for the Heat Waves edit and why those quotes??

Usually my process is: have both dialogue & lines I want to use -> or sketch something out if I already have a vague idea then find stuff to match -> or look through pictures to see if I can spark something -> then thumbnail some ideas for layouts.

After an hour of searching, sketching, reading the stuff I had highlighted, and looking through way too many photos. I remembered @heytherestilinski answered an ask about what colors they associated with hw!Dream & George and inspiration struck me quite quickly after reading their answer!

I had the pictures of the hands saved already. I thought they would fit quite nicely and they already had the intense lighting I could play around with. I did some color grading, really bringing out the cooler blue/green’s for George and the warmer reddish orange for Dream. Slapped some instense grain and called it a day! Then came the typography. And I don’t hate typography, but it’s my least favorite thing to do >:(

Though this time things were really simple because I wanted to go with something that screamed “this is a book font” & “this is a ya literature edit”. Then after everything is put together and I’m satisfied with everything, I go back and edit colors a bit more so everything looks as cohesive as possible! I do this all on my iPad with procreate and lightroom if you were wondering!

My explanation of why I chose these quotes is under the read more (because it’s a lot oops)

Dakota’s writing is amazing and chapter ten really blew me away. I started highlighting & annotating the whole chapter and it ended up looking like a high school English assignment. I had so many ideas by then end that it took me about a week to start on anything!

Sometimes I have the lines and dialogue I want to use, sometimes I don’t. Usually I try to make connections between every single item I’m using so everything has meaning! From the images, to the font, even placement and layouts! Not everything has to, but I like to make sure that the smallest detail has meaning even if it only makes sense to me /hj

I (vaguely) knew from everything I had chosen I wanted to use:

“The small wobble in George’s voice grows, “and you looked right through me.” & “Whatever chance I had, he thinks. “Did I miss you?”

together and as the central lines of the edit because I thought they paralleled each other well!

then I scrounged around for a paragraph of lines (internal dialogue?) that matched the quotes. I chose,

“Everything you said,” George continues, “everything you did, every time you so much as talked to me or said my name. I wanted to make you laugh. I wanted to be with you, every second, of every day.”

for George because it comes right before George says, “and you looked right through me”. With the way I ended up laying things out, your eyes are drawn to the center, which means you read those words first, and then you read the paragraph. In my head it would be a bittersweet reminder that George really did want Dream.

Which ties in to Dream’s part next!

I struggled to find one for Dream. I couldn’t pick between two lines of internal dialogue. The other one I had chosen fit very well, but I wanted to use it for a potential stand alone edit! So I ended up going with the second option,

“Dream’s chest yearns. He wants to take the opportunity and run with it—drag them off of this path and hide in the tranquil underbrush of sly jokes and light normalcy.”

I thought it went well with the imagery of the edit! Hands can be very expressive! Dream’s hand looks like he’s reaching out, while George is hesitant. I hope it conveyed how Dream wanted to pull them out of the current situation they were in!

The quotes in the background are a complete happy accident that happened while editing!

So I wanted them to be recognizable, but didn’t want them to completely steal the attention away from the foreground. Your eyes were probably drawn to it last because I made them very transparent and hard to see. I did decide that I wanted to use lines from Dream on George’s edit & vice versa! (also if you noticed you can see their names on each other’s edits which sorta helps you identify who’s saying what)

The one on George says, “Chilling warmth blooms from Dream’s cheeks down his neck, and collects in his chest with vivid sensation. His lips part helplessly.”

I broke away from ch10 for Dream because I couldn’t help but try and match the imagery of, “After a moment, he quietly adds, your voice sounds like fire. It burns. His head spins. I burn you? You melt me, George murmurs.” for Dream’s since orange is most commonly associated with fire and Dream’s hand is basked in an orange glow! (I wanted to use those iconic lines at least once)

ash!!!! since you came with the aboslute phenomenal genius mind boggling parallel of the plants blooming every seven years as a metaphor of du shik and hye jin meeting i wanted to ask you about the time line?? im confused abt something so okay du shik is a year older than hye jin (right?) so they first met at the beach when hye jin was 7 and du shik 8 and then their second encounter was in middle/high school-ish when hj = 14 and ds = 15 and then did they meet again when they were 21 and 22? am i missing something or did we not see it yet? like did they pass each other in college or smth? bc apart from that we have the third encounter in seoul when hj = 28 and ds = 29 and now finally when hj = 34/35 and ds = 35/36 in gong jin. anyway yeah i cant stop thinking about this. thank you for your time and have a nice day 😘

unfortunately my third eye failed a little and my 7 years theory doesnt completely line up (sad days), we saw them meet as children, teens and then the year du sik comes back to gongjin when his hyung died. we never saw them meet in college on screen (but im gonna believe with my heart of hearts that they did meet in their college days)

Okay, I’m even more convinced that Demetri and Milton are basically the same person /hj

First and foremost, they’re both obviously nerds who have a tendency to talk too much (to the point of getting themselves in trouble). I mean, their respective shows make it a point to show this (i.e. Demetri’s progressively strained relationship with Eli, just Disney-being-Disney and putting people into boxes but Milton kind of has a spine).

In fact, Demetri’s mouth got him beat up by Kreese whereas Milton’s inability to shut up restarted the conflict between his Scottish clan and their former rivals.

Their friends also have been seen to take advantage of how smart and dedicated they are to school (Demetri’s Lego model was made in a group project with Yasmine and Moon or Moon at least wanted to hear about it, the entire plot of Kickin’ It’s Glove Hurts and a recurring theme in other episodes).

I’ve said this before, but Kickin It’s Sub Sinker reminds me of season one Demetri and Eli in a way? In the episode, we know that Milton and Jerry are friends, but Jerry’s being intentionally antagonistic to him & his ‘nerd friends,’ and Milton’s expressing his disdain for these ‘delinquents.’ This is minorly parallel by the beginning of the Hawk mask, where Eli’s still friends with Demetri, but starts snapping at him for ‘nerd shit’ and Demetri’s always meeting him with criticisms about his behaviour/appearance.

Also, look me in the eyes and tell me that Sam & Demetri’s friendship doesn’t have similar vibes as Kim and Milton’s. Top female fighter in the dojo is consistently seen to defend and push the smart-mouth nerd to improve himself. Also Jack & Jerry 🤝 Miguel & Eli, the MC and his dumb, over-the-top friend who he has to look after, but in reality, they’re both equally dumbasses.

Their fighting styles also appear very similar! Demetri relies on agility, defence, and is very resourceful. We’ve seen him use his allies to both of their advantage, using his hold on Eli’s hand to help him rocket forward and hit a Cobra as well as once swinging Bert for higher kicks. In Kickin It, in almost every fight Milton’s in, he ends up using the things around him to his advantage. I also think it’s safe to infer that Milton also uses a strong defence and utilises agility, given he wins a large amount of his fights, but doesn’t have the same strength that Jack, Kim, and Jerry have. I think Jerry and Eli also have somewhat comparable fighting styles as they both seem to go out of their way to be flashier.

Edits: Milton & Jerry literally did the double kick that Demetri & Eli did in 3.10?? :0

I might add to this more as I continue to rewatch Kickin It (and feel free to add your own insights!), but yeah, thank you for coming to my TedTalk. :)

2. Who is the easiest character for you to write?

Currently, the easiest character for me to write is Dark Cacao. Something about an emotionally constipated dad trying his best in spite of having a rough upbringing is just... *chefs kiss* Delectable to me at the moment. Madeleine's fun, too, though! He's neat.

8. What is a scene that you are most proud of?

This one's going to get long, so I'm going to add in a Read More.

From The Doors Are Closed:

Even in the half-light, the moon smiles down on him like it did before, like it did many times before. If it weren’t for the fact that it’s the moon and the moon is not a giant eye in the sky, and it isn’t a cookie or any living creature in this world or any other, he might be tempted to say it’s mocking him.

The moon smiles down upon him, half-full and poetically, tragically in parallel, and he wishes he were truly frozen and bitter-cold.

The moon’s cold warmth comes down to him in a silvery light, the gentle wind of his icy kingdom prickling at his face. It feels like it’s reaching out to press a hand against his cheek, a peculiarly warm and gentle sensation crossing over his cheek and making his body seize with some unexplored and unexplainable emotion.

It’s a shadow, trailing a claw down his cheek. That is all.

It hits the back of his hand with a wet shock.

Dark Cacao blinks, once, twice, tearing his gaze away from the moon and lifting his hand up to examine it. Something wet has struck his hand, warm just moments before, but already cooling. Confused, he lifts his gaze up towards the top of the window, leaning out just a little to see if something fell from above, and--

The claw turns along with the slope of his face, prickling and following the fall of gravity.

...No.

He leans back from the window, lifting his hand and pressing his fingers against the prickling sensation, warm but swiftly growing cold. It feels wet--he feels it smudge against his fingertips, the side of his hand, feels it on both sides as the world begins to blur and he chokes.

He’s crying.

Dark Cacao is crying.

A horribly bitter laugh morphs into a strangled sob, muffled by the clenching of his jaw and the palm of his hand. He closes his throat and swallows, his other hand fumbling to close the opening of the window before drawing the curtains, leaving him to turn abruptly on his feet and stumble half-blind back to his bed. His shoulders are rising and falling, his chest shaking with a desperate attempt to breathe, and his chest burns with the cursed reminder of just whose fault this is.

9. Is there one character you refuse to write? Why?

I'm not sure if there's a character that I necessarily refuse to write? It's more like... sometimes my writing urges just don't tend to mesh very well with certain characters for one reason or another. I'm not good at writing fluff, so cutesy characters would probably be rather strange to me, I guess. Fluff is just a bit awkward for me to write. Why write fluff when you can write angst? /hj

20. What story that you've written makes you happiest to re-read?

I do tend to re-read my stories, though it's largely due to, you know... them being my stories. That said, re-reading them over and over again sort of gets tiring, like listening to the same song over and over until you get sort of sick of it.

If I had to pick one that makes me the happiest to re-read, though...? ...That's a tough call. In terms of 'happiest', The Enigma of Conditional Immortality is definitely the happiest. You gotta love two old, gay married men hamming it up. The Doors Are Closed was incredibly fun for me to write, and I'm still proud that multiple people have said it actually made them cry. I really like the tail end of When The Whales Fall, though, after Madeleine and Dark Choco split ways.

There's just... so many. I just... I like my work. My work makes me happy. :)
