Tomoru: Everyone, over here! Ah that’s good, everyone is here together

Felix: It’s been a while since we saw Gyroaxia’s live, and since the chance has come anyway

Jun: The admission and goods lines were crazy too… it feels like… there’s an increase in fans

Daimon: Speaking of which, they’re apart of the label that invited us here right?

Tomoru: Yes, apparently it’s called ‘Dreadnought Music’. Later on we’ll need to meet with the representative Mashu-san.

Felix: I see. So they have already taken the first steps into becoming pros then

Koharu: …hm..

Felix: Oh? It seems they’re about to start

-Gyro on stage-

Nayuta: Nothing will change, we’re still us. Killer stage.

Mashu: Pardon me. You are Fantome Iris, yes?

Felix: Hm.. you are?

Mashu: I am the one who invited you all here today, my name is Mashu.

Tomoru: Ah, you’re Mashu-san then? Thank you for today, I am Kurokawa, the person who received your call

Mashu: Ah, Kurokawa-san? Thank you for your work today

Tomoru: It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Kurokawa, who plays the guitarist LIGHT. Actually I’m a member, rather than a manager. When on stage I’m in makeup, but normally I’m just a plain salaryman, so I look rather boring now…aha…

Jun: I’m also often told that I’m different off stage too… ahaha..

Mashu: Is that so.

Tomoru: eh..this person doesn’t seem to laugh much… maybe even a bit gloomy… but something about this person… it’s like I somewhat recognize his face…

Mashu: My apologies for not introducing myself earlier. To reiterate, I am the representative of Dreadnought Music, Mashu Shintaro

Daimon: Our pleasure. My apologies, there was one more of our band member who was here, but he had left earlier on

Mashu: Is that so, then I hope to greet him at a later time

Tomoru: Hm? …Mashu…Shintaro…?

Felix: What’s wrong Tomoru?

Tomoru: Um.. is it possible that maybe back when you were in elementary school, you went to Nagoya for just a month? In grade 5, group 1, the seat in the very front.

Tomoru: Wait I was just brushed off super quickly…! Thinking about it, compared to how he was in elementary school, the current Shintaro-kun is really different… he used to be so timid and nicer

Felix: Hm. Let's hear it

Mashu: I’ll get straight to the point, we would like to invite you to work under our label.

Tomoru: Hold on. Invite as in…?!

Mashu: In a fashion similar to Gyroaxia, we at Dreadnought Music would like to fully back Fantome Iris in both your pro debut and future activities.

Tomoru: That is…well… but, why?

Mashu: We watched you at LRFes, and believe that you all have the ability and skill to equate going professional.

Mashu: However, after the sudden cancellation of the event, the support given by Duck River was also suddenly cut, no?

Daimon: Yeah

Mashu: It's befitting action for that company, a truly foolish decision. With this current suggestion, there is no plot or trickery at play here. Tomoru: I get that, to watch them who used to be our rivals at some point, it feels like I won’t be able to sleep tonight

Jun: …yeah, me too. When I get back, I feel like practicing my guitar rather than playing games

Daimon: It was a complicated live in a way. On one hand it was a good live, on the other, looking back at ourselves, it also felt like we can’t just be standing around idly either. And then there was the discussion of a pro debut

Tomoru: I haven’t clearly thought about it enough yet, but I do intend to put it into consideration

Felix: That means that you’ll quit your current job? With how much you held onto it despite how demanding it got, its just a tad surprising

Tomoru: Thats what I was planning to do as well. But just recently, there was also the request of if I wanted to step up as the leader of a new project too

Daimon: A promotion you mean then. Then that means you thought that you’d be even more busy than now so you’ll quit?

Tomoru: No, the company has become less ‘black’ than before, so I thought that if I became leader, I would have more days off. That's why until now I had thought of simply taking it.

Tomoru: At the same time, the subordinate I was looking after recently got commended for work

Jun: Is that subordinate possibly the one that was a fantome fan that we brought with the president over to our secret live?

Tomoru: That's right! In the beginning he was wasn’t able to too much but in order to see more of Fantome’s lives, he worked hard enough to even change the air around the company too

Tomoru: It seems super busy and a pain but there was the feeling of warmth that grew within me too

Koharu: Thats right, because you’re living

Tomoru: Yes. Its as they say, its better to do it and then regret, rather than regret not doing it. Then I want to do the best I can for the band right now.

Koharu: I get it. Y’know, I also thought it too and yeah, I really love Fantome. And I don’t want to give up on both the band and my current work either. Being the root of the problem right now it ain’t really my place to speak but still, no matter how hard it gets in the future, I want to protect this band. Even in the off chance we end up breaking apart, I’ll always go and rebuild Fantome as many times over. Thats just how precious it is to me, this place where I can make music with you all.

Daimon: Yeah, I feel the same way

Jun: Koharu-san… Daimon-san…

Koharu: Feli. Lets hear what you have to say too

Felix: …At this time being, the glass in front of me is empty, now why is that?

Koharu: Huh? What's with this all of a sudden, its because you drank it right?

Daimon: He said that if he made this in the sharehouse, it might concern both you or Koharu, he was coming to the cafe to work on it. While he was making the song, it seems that he was looking forward to you adding the lyrics

Jun: With this melody, you can add the lyrics on top, so then me, and Tomoru and Koharu-san and Daimon-san can perform and then… I want to perform this on stage (voice slowly drifting out)

Felix: …

Jun: …how is it? If it isn’t good enough I’ll rewrite it how many times over you want!

Felix: No, its a good song Jun. Its truly befitting of us now.

Felix: It seems I’ve felt it once again, how I always am Fantome Iris’ number one fan.

Felix: and that the love for us that created this world, no, the for world that we brought forth, is love from the bottom of my heart

Felix: For adults like us, we know well the difficulties for chasing a dream and how eternity may not be obtainable. To anyone, there is only one chance to live. And in the far future, when this life has long burnt out, our dreams will finally reach an end. But as long as there are people who love the music that grants our dreams, will our dreams become eternity. And for that eternity I wish for.

Koharu: and is that, your honest feelings..?

Felix: Yeah

Koharu: Ahaha! For gods sake!

Jun: UWAH! That scared me…

Koharu: To sum it up, “let's keep doing music together” right?

Felix: aha, I’m not the best at expressing my feelings, you of all people should know that

Koharu: Well, if the king says so, there’s no defying right? Since we need to make a place for humans and vampires to live in harmony after all~

Tomoru: Yes, as the king’s right hand man, no matter how far, I’ll still make music

Jun: p-please don’t leave me behind though

Koharu: Of course you do too, Daimon?

Daimon: The one who called forth the vampire king, the clergyman and the only human, D. For I have a duty to protect you all after all. From now and forever

Felix: Yes, this truly is the 5 of us

Koharu: Lets go! Hold up, all the sake’s gone though

Daimon: Yeah, the thing that you had stored away carefully right

Daimon: You sure?

Felix: Yes, it was saved for a day like this anyway

Daimon: Yeah

Felix: Everyone, thank you

Koharu: But still, saying that we still wanna continue our normal live while working as a band is something not many would say right

Daimon: Well normally, many want to focus solely on making music after all

Under “Fox is set to have an edge over Ladybug and Peafowl”, what is the description for Fox’s edge over Peafowl (I only see the one for its edge over Ladybug)?

Omg I can't believe I wound up skipping over it, my bad. There was a lot of info I was rolling around and in my head I wrote it out.

Fox's biggest edge is the unpredictability, can also work off the theme of "time is an illusion".

Foxtrot is the ultimate trump card over Peafowl, Fox selects Peafowl as the "partner" to dance around and now it can always evade and resist any of Peafowl's powers. Can't entirely prevent some, like resetting time, but Fox will retain the memories of previous events. And pausing time, Fox would be mobile too. Ruffled Feathers also won't ever stick to Fox with Foxtrot. Given how OP time powers can be, Foxtrot is the answer to it.

Fantom can be used to see through illusions, as they aren't physical or naturally apart of the world and the flow of time, illusions will still play out even if time is paused, cluing Peafowl in to them being false. Otherwise, Peafowls can easily fall for illusions too.

Ruffled Feathers can also be used to reverse Foxglove and reveal the Fox, but Peafowl has to catch on that this is a disguise.

Peafowl's best chance would be Fantom, as that would give away illusions and could freeze Fox, but if Fox has Foxtrot activated and Peafowl wound up selected, all bets are off. It's going to be an uphill fight from there.

guys I have a confession to make. For a long while I havent considered myself an UNDEADP bc when I first started liking Enstars I was not fond of Kaoru. Then his development grew on me but I was already producing another unit so I didn’t feel like producing two units so I became a ReiP instead. But I’ve always had such a soft spot for UNDEAD anyways bc like 1) I tend to like idol anime units with their aesthetic (guilty kiss, fantome iris, roselia etc) 2) I also love their music and listen to it the most even tho Valkyrie is my favourite music wise 3) It’s hard being a ReiP and ignoring his unit, unless you’re an OddballsP but even then most OddballsP I have seen that have Rei as a favourite tend to like UNDEAD anyways

I don’t have many UNDEAD 5*s :( Only Rei comes home

I try to collect Ryuseitai cards though! My 5* collection is bigger. Chiaki fills me feelings of euphoria but his fs2 didn’t come home so now I am sad. Hence why my blog name is SADNESS

Now looking at my UNDEAD collection, I lowkey wish I played their events more :( I tried getting Koga in september but I got too tired and stopped after getting Midori.

Sorry to my followers. tumblr user reisakumaproducer was not always an UNDEADP but oh dear heavens does she have a soft spot for those guys. Someday I want to read every UNDEAD story out there and write analyses of them. Ik that sounds silly but I want to consume UNDEAD content more bc I have yet to read all their stories. Unfortunately I have school but someday I will fulfil my wishes. I think I am entering my UNDEADP era

Strange is the Jungle- Tarzan (1999)

Loneliness. It's a feeling he knows all too well. It is not like he was constantly alone, the troop was always nearby, his mother, his cousins, even when he wandered a bit off, the jungle was full of all sorts of creatures, all sort of life. When he wandered off to be alone, he never was, yet lonely he was often. He knew he was different, always knew, no other gorilla looked like him, no other creature in the jungle did. His mother had, over all this time, looked after him, comforting and encouraging to find his own way, to adapt to the handicaps that he had as not-quite a gorilla. It seemed odd that he wasn’t a gorilla when there were so many similarities between them, yet like an elephant he had no fur and like a hippo he could move with ease through the water, his agile limbs allowing him to swing and glide through the tree tops without restrain. Yes, he was different, but he had found peace with it. This was just as things were.

Suddenly though, his whole world seems to be different from what he used to know, because it turns out he is not the only one, the only not-quite ape. There are others like him. He couldn’t believe his eyes when out of the bamboo grove a male appeared, and then another older one, and then a female, all of them without fur, covered and wrapped in garments far more expanse than his. They couldn’t speak any form of ape he knew, the sounds that were coming out of their mouths strange and loud. He couldn’t fantom why they seemed so exited to find old nests, surely they had seen countless of them before. Curiosity had kept his attention wandering from one to the other, unsure which one to follow until the young female had upset an angry group of baboons and seemed clueless how to escape them. He swung after her. Thinking now back to that encounter his chess tightens and his heart aches, loneliness gripping with it claws onto him like a jaguar at prey.

Kerchak wants them to avoid the strangers, to never get too close or be seen. To act like they are incredibly dangerous or worse, don’t exist. But they do exist and he cannot let go of that fact. They are just as real as he is. Jane is just as real as he is. And for a fleeting moment anger returns to his mind, anger at his mother for never telling him others are somewhere, for surely she must have known, his mother knew everything. But his anger is short and soon again replaced by sadness, behind him the family making their nests ready for the night and life going on like usual.

In that moment realisation grips him that his life simply can’t go on as before. He can’t listen to his mother's advice nor follow Kerchak´s heartless demand.

Tomorrow he is going to see these strangers, he is going to see Jane.

That evening she excuses herself rather early, there is mention of some slight headache from the daylong heat and too much excitement, her father sends her instantly to rest so they can continue their studies tomorrow while their guide Clayton doesn’t even spare her a glance rather focusing on lighting his smoking pipe. It seems clear that he thinks her a silly girl fantasising nonsense after getting too much sun, not made for the hardships of this expedition, and while it bothers her anyone doubting her intellectual capacity, she must admit that the climate is far from welcoming to someone who has known only cold winds and drizzling rain for most of her life. Beautiful English summers aside, Africa does offer its own challenges when it comes to heat and humidity. Right now she is more than happy for some early quiet, even at the expanse of being considered silly, for upon recalling this days events she can’t help but question herself if not everything was only part of her imagination. But no, her missing boot and sock and parasol indicate otherwise, as does her missing notebook. As does Tarzan.

Sitting down on her iron wrung bed, now dressed in a light nightgown and enjoying the soft breeze of evening air, she looks around her small tent. Planing on what to take with her on the expedition to the jungle took nearly longer than the sailing did. In the end there were two trunks with clothes, a traveling secretary table, a bookshelf with a collection on the most important publications when it comes to travel on the Dark Continent, as well as the children's book her mother had taught her reading from and a beautiful edition of Around the World in Eighty Days. There was also the massive bed. To her it seemed normal to take the comfort of England to Africa. While their camp was well equipped for living as well as her fathers experiments, it was far from what their house in London had to offer. And yet, somewhere out there was someone who lived without any of it.

She shivers as she thinks about being in the open at night in the jungle, all kinds of beasts lurking in the shadows, no protection near, every sound waking you out of your sleep. Is it really the way he had to grow up in? How is it even possible for a human being to survive among such dangers, especially if it happens to be since childhood? It must have been since childhood, he seemed absolutely oblivious to any humans existing until now. Surely, there were many similarities between primates and humans, but this, this was something completely different! Yet, he seemed so gentle, so kind, so curious, so…

Her head begins to spin and she lies down in defeat, too many questions swirling like a horde of bees in he head, and no answer nor explanation nearby. Tomorrow, tomorrow she’ll order her thoughts and experiences scientifically, explain everything to daddy once more, he will know where to start from there to solve this mystery.

But for now, the days excitement is finally turning into exchausion and the pillow seems welcoming soft as she falls asleep dreaming of flying through jungle treetops and eyes so deep with wonder that no words for communication are needed.

My thoughts and predictions on This (in order from left to right):

REIJI. Good lord reiji. I am pleasantly surprised to see he has a very long jacket. A Reiji superfan I follow on Twitter noticed that that belt behind him is so long that when gravity finally starts acting on it, it will hit the ground, which I find very funny. Bro has a tail! I also see his arms are exposed….the same Reiji fan noted this is a welcome break for his Live Support member, who can now play the drums without dying in that stiff ass leather jacket. I agree with this, and would like to take it a step further, maybe it symbolizes Reiji loosening up some after the events of Raison Detre? Well. Only time will tell. The boots are nice. I like his megane pose. Reiji has grown on me a little bit so I’m glad to see him have such a drastic shift in silhouette!

KANATA. KANATA NIJO. OHHHHH BOY, this outfit will either be the best out of all of them or flop severely. So happy to see him wearing a giant puffy jacket. The belts and stuff all of it remind me of Talk Flower’s design, which is one I quite like, so I’m hoping it resembles her a little bit. Not much to say about the pants and the boots, they’re pretty standard epsilon format. I’m so glad they let him do a cute peace sign in this, justice for insane boys. What I’m most excited to see, though, is more of his new hair…the way he let it down tells me he’s Insanely Depressed. I can’t wait to witness it ingame. But if Kanachan being depressed = better hair, so be it….I kind of hate the way his bangs look up so this is a VERY welcome change. Wait I just noticed he has a chain, good for him. Well to close Kanata off I’m just praying for his color palette to be good please god don’t do what Aaside did to epsilon

SHU🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹SHUUUUU UJIGAWA. Very very excited for his reveal because god, as much as I love him, HIS AASIDE OUTFIT WAS TRASH! JUSTICE FOR SHU!!! I hated the colors of his stupid fucking shorts with a passion I just hated his outfit okay he was ugly. I admit it. My fav was ugly. I’m very glad they kept a puffy jacket but cropped! Even though I hated the old one, it’s like, it could be better with some changes, and here they are. I’m hoping it’s not zipped, I guess..? I’m not too sure what to expect with the under layers of any of these outfits. Hey they’re all wearing jackets. Maybe that’s to symbolize the persona they all put on to the outside wo(*is shot and killed*). That has to be hot onstage though, right? Well. Whatever. I’m not fully decided how I feel about him only having One garter, and also those shoes have the potential to be very goofy, but that’s alright because even though I want better visuals, I do want epsilon to stay slightly silly. Coughs. I love his new hair for the opposite reason to Kanata’s— which is to say, Kanata is getting worse and I love that, but Shu is getting better and I love that (but I do hope he suffers in Kimisute no matter what I’m sorry). And of course there is SO MUCH to be said about his pose….opening up….becoming happier….proudly showing himself to the world…..Cries. That’s my shitty anime boy right there. The aforementioned Reiji twitter person also mentioned how dynamic that cable is which is so funny for anyone wanting to buy an acrylic stand of him. Maybe they’ll cut it down or something. Overall I love him and I have hope for him and his color palette. Justice for Shu

HARUKA. ummmmmmmm I’ll be so honest with you I. I don’t love it….I DO NOT LIKE SAYING THIS BECAUSE I LOVEEE HARUKA. And I do have hope since this is just the silhouette and all that but I…Boy….what is that jacket. I don’t love the collar being up and I just don’t love the frame of the silhouette in general. I think the biggest part of why I don’t like this is because of how much I liked Haruka’s original outfit? It was genuinely one of my favorites out of the entire cast (aside from fantome iris), generally I just think Haruka looks better with super slim clothes, and I was kind of obsessed with the vibe that came with the bright yellow zip up and shiny af plastic fabric pants. But I will mourn that on its own. I do not understand how his belts will fit into this outfit, or if they’re on the jacket or his pants. But you know what? I love haruka so I will defend him despite whatever this stupid outfit is. Love his pose as always he’s so emo

TADAOMI. last but certainly not least, especially in severe mental problems! Did he get taller, or is everyone else shorter? We shouldn’t give him more power than he needs, especially in physical aspects. We do not need him to kill someone for real (or maybe we do, idk), so let’s not give him that power. It’s funny how he’s Reiji’s height. Toxic yaoi is real forever! His outfit seems fine, I also liked the IDEA they had with his original but not the execution, so I wish it would’ve followed something with that…maybe it has, idk, I’ll have to see the colors! That also brings up the idea of wether they’re matching or not, their original outfits were all pretty different and only united by Vibes. I kind of hope for some more prevalent motifs in these outfits but I hope they keep their individuality. Back to Tadaomi- WHY ARE HIS PANTS TUCKED INTO HIS BOOTS. SHUDDERS. I like his belts too. I hope he’s making a super insane expression or something.

SOME GENERAL STUFF! Let’s talk about the belts, shall we? They all have very obvious belts, I like it. It fits the vibe of a bunch of depressed kids in a band. Shu has the smallest one, followed by Reiji(?), Haruka and Tadaomi are tied, and I would argue that Kanata has the most because of the chain as well. I could be reading too much into this, but I feel like this matches up with their growth to some extent— Shu, who now has a support system and is learning to grow has the least “restraints”. Reiji is up next, he is also learning to let go of some of his rage (or redirect it), and tbh, Shit is looking up for him man. Haruka is still bound by Kanata (maybe even moreso now that he hasn’t seen him for a year, avoidance doesn’t solve problems and in this case will probably worsen them) and his own feelings of guilt. Tadaomi…I consider him the worst out of epsilon, so I’m surprised to see only two belts on him, assuming this theory is correct. Kanata is indisputably in a hell of his own creation every day of his life, I’m not shocked to see him having the most even though I expected Tadaomi to be in this spot. Maybe it’s because of the difference in awareness? Kanata is definitely in some deep shit but understands how fucked his relationship with Haruka is, whereas Tadaomi tries to kill a guy and doesn’t reflect on it at all. Well, we will see. I already noted the fact that they all have jackets. Maybe they’re cold. I’m looking forward to seeing the full visuals posted!! Yayyyyy!!!!!!!! Love forever

(( I'm having a good day today, already been out for lunch, and something I decided to treat myself to as a late birthday present a few weeks ago got here this morning (pics of it under the cut.) And three days of using the hairball paste for Sherlock and he hasn't brought up on hairball :D I'm hoping my good mood will translate into getting some things done here while I watch some movies. ))

A few weeks ago Fantom Events announced that Tom Baker was doing a private signing, which is super rare, so of course I had to get something as a late birthday present to myself. So look at my new pride and joy :D Four was my first Doctor, the first story I remember watching was a repeat of The Deadly Assassin.

Fall is here, and it feels like a great time to dive into my first review post: some gorgeous and spooky Fantome samples!🍂

I'm at the start of my indie journey, and as a result, I pick scents to explore, learn, and grow my tastes. i.e....I get it wrong, a lot! I'm still figuring out what I love. Here's how I rate:

6- gasping wheezing noises as i huff my arm (will FS) 5- ohohohoh. yeah baby turn up this jam (might FS) 4- wearable, not just bearable (will finish sample) 3- this is fine. yeah. i am making a neutral expression 2- i could see how someone could like this. that person is not me. 1- Fellas we got a scrubber :(

A quick note on my experience beyond the smells: Fantome's site is reliable and easy to use on mobile. I placed my order on July 11th, and my samples shipped out on August 9th, standard for their 20-30 day TAT. My samples came with a care card, as well as an insert highlighting their bestsellers. No issues- as expected with such a well-reviewed and respected house! Now let's get INTO IT MAIN EVENT

🍅🍑 Lycanthrope- Spicy tomato leaf, dark honey, and oakmoss, with hints of peach, lychee, ivy, vanilla, and tomatoes fresh from the vine.

Starting off strong with my second favorite of the bunch! This scent is bright, juicy, and green. The peach and tomato play well together when wet: perfectly balanced between tart and sweet. The green, bitter tomato leaf and oakmoss come forward on the drydown, tempered by the vanilla. Sweet and unisex, this scent is for summer (or yearning for summer...)

I love this scent the more I wear it. It's like walking through a freshly-watered neighborhood garden full of things ripe for the picking, glowing in golden late-afternoon sunlight. 5/6

🍷🗡️Vassago- A silver dagger, red wine mulled with blackberries, cloves, & orange peels, a goblet of blood & a black mirror.

My partner picked this one. I'm in love with him, and also this. It smells like mulled wine in October. Opening full-bodied, fruity, and orange/blackberry forward, the cloves tickle the back of the throat. I didn't get any metallic blood or dagger out of this scent, but I don't mind. The fruits aren't synthetic or overly sweet. An autumn and winter scent, it makes me want to throw a very witchy dinner party.

For a gracious host who loves simmer pots, wine and conversation with friends 4/6

🌼💦Lymphae- Fresh musk, cool vanilla, a swift-running stream, Italian lilac, orange blossom, damp earth, and the ozone of spring thunderstorms.

This is where I learned that Fantome's aquatic note does *not* work for me. Most people describe a vividly realistic stream experience. I get...sharp soap. This changes slightly on the drydown, I think I pick up a little more of the florals and nice earth note separate from that sharp smell that I think must be the aquatic note of the stream. This is well reviewed and could be really lovely on someone who is not me.

I want to love this one very badly. Sample bed rest and further testing are prescribed! 2/6

🍂🏕️Kupala- Morning dew, davana, fern flower, bonfire smoke, birch leaves, warm summer air

Accursed aquatic: pt. 2. My first scrubber ever. That sharp scent from Lympae is also present here (in the form of dew), and in combination with the bonfire smoke, this is a death combo. I've tried smoke scents I love, but this didn't work for me. Lots of people have high praise for the Fantome aquatics, though - worth the chance!

This scent took me back to a tour I took when I was 16 of a castle basement where they had an exhibit on medieval torture. It smelled bad down there. 1/6

🥀🔮Madame D'Esperance- Sage laced with creamy jasmine, sensual red patchouli, frankincense, dusty cedar, a hint of rose, and intoxicating ambrette.

Have you ever been in a small town gift shop, incense in one corner, local soaps in the other, all sorts of eclectic items everywhere? This smells JUST like that. It's not a negative experience at all, personally. The sage and patchouli are strong on my skin chemistry, and the dusty cedar and "hint of rose" combine into what I must be perceiving as "old building". Not even a hint of jasmine to my nose. Fascinating!

The Madame is spooky, but comforting. She offers you sage advice and a discount at the register. 3/6

🌲🦌Faun- Opens with a deceptive hint of sweetness from neroli, grapefruit, and iris—then deepens into dark vetiver, oakmoss swirled in amber, and hints of animalistic musk.

Faun. Oh boy. So. I enjoy that deceptive opening, as a big grapefruit fan. You can sense the beast beneath, but when wet, it's just a dark, playful force under the bright grapefruit and neroli. I thought, cool. I love a little dark wood, I ADORE vetiver, I'm down for the bitter, woodsy drydown. Unfortunately, on my skin, it becomes straight up sweaty forest mammal. Consider this a watershed moment: I am not the person who loves animalistics. A valuable lesson. I will never wear this again.

Sweet faun grows fangs and hunts you down in the forest, if you're into that. Maybe you are ;) 1.5/6

🦋🌳Duende- Evokes the smell of being lost in a forest—with oakmoss, cedar, fir, resinous labdanum, benzoin, tree sap, wild violets, and lilac.

When I first smelled this, my first and only note was "wet log". After resting two weeks, I could talk about this smell forever. It's green, fresh, floral, and woody. It opens with green, dewy florals. At no point could I call the lilac or violet "powdery". This is no baby powder or soapy purple floral. The flowers wake up the dark, resinous forest notes of the drydown- this is a scent that lives and breathes. So much brighter than I was expecting!

Like walking through an old-growth forest with an armful of freshly-picked lilac. The #1 winner for this batch for me and for the summer! **6/6**

🌻🐝Vasalisa- Clover honey, neroli, rich tonka, chamomile, dry hay, a flower crown of marigolds & sunflowers.

Free sample! This is a heavy, deep honey scent. If you've ever had the pleasure of keeping bees and smelled that glorious, end-of-summer warm honey smell that lingers around them this time of year, this is it in a bottle. The hay note is very forward on my skin, especially on the drydown, which I don't personally love for wearing, but delights me from a blending standpoint for how it holds down the florals and completes the atmosphere. This is a rich, golden smell for end of summer and early fall.

For beekeepers, aspiring beekeepers, or people who love to stand in fields pretending to be bees. 4/6

Jasmine Sambac

This was a freebee, single-note of the jasmine sambac they use in some of their blends. I'm a jasmine fiend, so this feels like fate! It's not a fresh jasmine flower and doesn't lean dewy at all. It shares some of that golden energy with Vasalisa- deep, floral, and mature. I bet someone who didn't typically love jasmine notes might change their mind for this one.

Perfect for layering or wearing alone, which I WILL do OFTEN 5/6

TLDR: This sample set was a wonderful send-off to summer. This set was also a great learning experience for my likes (smelling like a forest!), dislikes (smelling like a forest animal!), and I would definitely look to order more from Fantome in the future.

Preliminary sign-ups for the upcoming anniversary event are now live! This will run until 11:59PM EST on July 31st. After the event begins, sign-ups will reopen for new and late-joining muses.

Event Sign-up Instructions:

As with our recent Fantom Loews event, we will be implementing restrictions on how many muses a mun can sign up for this event:

For new muns who have never participated in a lore event before, you will be allowed to sign up with one muse. This is to ensure that our new folks are not overwhelmed by the intensity and commitment that our lore events require.

For older muns, the mod team has already determined limits based on past event activity. We will not be making this list public and will allow you to sign up with the number of muses you think you can handle; however, the mod team will contact you if this number exceeds the limit we have decided. Of course, you’re more than welcome to ask one of the mods to tell you how many muses you will be allowed to sign up beforehand.

As with all of our anniversary events, you sign up with your muse by having them take a personality quiz. Please read the following instructions carefully:

Follow the above link and take the quiz in order to sign your muse(s) up for the event. When answering the questions, do so as your muse(s) and keep in mind their true nature.

Please only take the quiz once per muse. Your results are automatically logged and visible from our end. We’re using a free account to host it, so we’re given only 100 submissions a month. If I sign up and decide that I can’t commit, can I drop? Likewise, if I don’t sign up now but decide that I have time in August, can I join?

Yes and yes. We will try to make your muse’s exclusion/inclusion as smooth as possible in the story.

Will the quiz determine teams?

No. Your muse’s result for this quiz will affect their experience in the story once the event is underway. Teams will be randomized so that they are roughly equal in number and sorted to avoid situations where a mun would have multiple muses in one team.

Do I have to be in the Discord server for the event?

We highly recommend that you join the server for the duration of the event so that you can coordinate with your teammates in your team channel. We will also be requiring all rolls to be made with Dice Maiden.

If I don’t sign up, what will my muse(s) do?

The month of August will be a free period. There will be no new mission board, so you will be left more or less to your own devices. It’s a good time to catch up on old drafts.
