Vampirella聽is a fictional聽vampire superheroine聽created by聽Forrest J. Ackerman聽and comic book artist聽Trina Robbins聽in聽Warren Publishing's black-and-white聽horror comics magazine Vampirella聽#1 (Sept. 1969), a sister publication of聽Creepy聽and聽Eerie.
Writer-editor聽Archie Goodwin聽later developed the character from聽horror-story hostesses, in which capacity she remained through issue #8 (Nov. 1970), to a聽horror-drama聽leading character. The magazine was published continuously until 1983, when Warren Publishing ceased operations and its assets were bought by聽Harris Publications.聽Vampirella聽comics, both new and reprints, have continued through various publishers into the 21st century including current owner Dynamite Entertainment.

Burroughs replied with the above.

In 1931, 14-year-old soon-to-be author, editor, and super-fan Forrest J. Ackerman wrote a letter to Edgar Rice Burroughs, author of the Tarzan, John Carter / Princess of Mars, and Pellucidar聽(Hollow Earth) series, informing him of how his teacher had lectured the class about how bad those books were.
