the more I think about this scene the more heartbreaking it gets.

Beatrice has given up hope and just wants Ava to run away and hide.

(to protect the Halo, though we all know she also just wants Ava to be safe and is willing to give up the little time they have together for that)

Ava asks her to go with her.

Beatrice just gives her the saddest faint smile and looks away while Ava insist on them going back to the Alps on the verge of tears.

And the thing is, Beatrice would like nothing more than to go back to the Alps, run the bar and live with Ava, but she knows that she couldn’t live with herself if they did. And it’s not just because of her own guilty conscience, but because she couldn’t bear to be the one who got Ava to give up.

Beatrice knows that Ava is just saying that as nothing but wishful thinking, she knows Ava wouldn’t actually give up the fight.

Ava just asks because she know Beatrice will say no, and Bea says no because she knows (and loves) Ava too much to say yes.

And it’s so painful how they both know that could never happen, not because of others, but because they themselves know they’re not the type to give up and run away because of the selfish wish of a normal, domestic life together. Yet Ava still hopes, and says it aloud, and Beatrice feels like she has to shut it down even though shes painfully aware Ava knows that.

You would not have the right to pass judgment on me unless you knew me personally. No I am not supporting discriminative and offensive behaviour out of fondness for a handsome actor (I actually love him for more than looks, not that you care).
