1. Where You Are (demo) from the Moana soundtrack by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Such a great soundtrack! I love Lin-Manuel Miranda, and I loved this movie – I remember leaving the cinema on such a high. (Should I watch Moana tonight? Could be a good boost in the Age of Coronavirus.) 2. I’ll Follow Tomorrow from the Phantom Thread soundtrack by Johnny Greenwood. As you can see, I listen to a lot of film scores. This one is so beautifully creepy and atmospheric, just perfect for the movie. 3. New England by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers. Jonathan Richman is a beautiful weirdo, and this song makes me think about the good times I’ve had visiting my sister in Boston. 4. Surgeon by St Vincent. One of my favourite artists! Not my favourite track by her, but she’s incapable of writing a bad song, so it’s still great. 5. Can’t Go Home by Weyes Blood. The queen of atmosphere. Haven’t listened to this album all that much, to be honest. 6. The Opposite of Afternoon by Unknown Mortal Orchestra. UMO always deliver perfect offbeat pop. 7. Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now by The Smiths. Listen, I’ve loved the Smiths for decades – I’m moody, so it speaks directly to my DNA. But I keep thinking I should stop listening to them on streaming, as a personal protest against Morrisey’s shitty politics. As you can see, I haven’t managed it yet. Besides, ‘I was looking for a job and then I found a job, and heaven knows I’m miserable now’ is just a perfect line. 8. We Put a Pearl in the Ground by St Vincent. Beautiful and gentle piano track, really different from her more recent stuff. Quite a bit like the Phantom Thread score, actually! 9. Futile Devices by Sufjan Stevens. He is an artist that I’ve felt like I should get into for many years, but I’ve only started listening to him relatively recently. Really beautiful and emotional. 10. My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars by Mitski. I love Mitski! She was my ‘artist of the decade’ in Spotify’s year-in-review thing at the end of 2019, and I’ve been lucky enough to see her live three times. She really is incredible.

This was fun! I have an awful lot of random stuff in my saved songs, so this ended up being less eclectic than I expected.

Happy Holidays, those who are still out there! I wanted to share this quick before the eightieth wave of the purge happens on the 17th, but this link will also be up at fuckyeahbillhader (dot) com. (that will now bring you right to the new spot it’s at-I’m not directly linking it in case tumblr staff decides it’s erotic, or nipples, or whatever thing they can think of next to ban someone over. Pudding? Probably.)

The link above is a downloadable zipped html file of most of the posts on FYBH from April 2009 to September of 2018. I had downloaded it when I learned tumblr offered it-then thought I had lost it because it was not in the place I usually place downloads. I had done a big ol’ laptop clean-out not long after, so I thought it was deleted forever, and never got the chance to re-do a backup. Apparently, past me figured I’d do this very action.

I had hidden it away in a photo file I rarely open. It was like finding Carmen Sandiego hanging with Waldo, both holding the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Now. When I say *most* posts, that means that videos uploaded did not transfer, and there are some photo/gif posts that have no pictures that show up, which could be a completely random thing, or might be the posts that were here belonged to users that deleted before the back up was made, so they didn’t make it over. No idea. No, this format isn’t pretty, but it’s in order from oldest to newest, and it’s still something-and while an xml file was included in this backup, I’ve yet to find a site that takes the xml file tumblr gave me. ( is anyone surprised this garbage truck full of dirty diapers on fire gives out unusable files?) If something does come up that will accept the files to look like actual, functioning old posts, it’ll definitely get uploaded that way as well. Until then, I hope this helps some people jonesing for some old Hader stuff out.
