Yes, we have our own little elves. The most known ones are the galtzagorriak or red trousers:

They're tiny and always wear red trousers. They're invisible for humans, but if you ever see one they will ask for tasks to do non-stop, 24/7. The only way to get rid of them is asking for an impossible task, that way they will shut up and become invisible again.

Their actual form is unknown: some say they're tiny humans, some other they're mice-like. They come out at night, setting up little St. Elmo's fires, and when the person follows them, they scare the human from behind and run away. They're mischievous, not evil; but be careful! If you follow them, they will lead you to a sure death into a well, a cliff or a chasm.

In Basque mythology, galtzagorriak are a type of imp, generally said to resemble small people with red trousers. They are named after this garment, with "galtzagorriak" roughly translating as "red trousers."

Galtzagorriak are said to be uncharacteristically benevolent for imps, and will aid farmers and peasants with their labours if they are offered food. They usually only come out at night.
