for c!dnf week: worship. thank you @suenitos for hosting! I was re-reading parts of Maria Tatar's Heroine with 1001 faces and got inspired by the idea of female guardians and goddesses in myths and fables that were meant to serve as ways to claim agency and secure social life. So that's where the original concept sprouted from.

with regards to dnf, I remember fundy and dream's wedding scene being mentioned a lot in dsmp clips, fics, and other fan material (although from my understanding, it wasn't a canon thing? idk).

when i started a poll, originally, the tragic version is that dream gets turned into a statue as well:

so basically, dsmp has lore right? and in that lore DreamXD (XD) is a canon character, who is based off of Dream’s alt minecraft account ‘DreamXD’

DreamXD is known as the god of the server (he has OP lmao), and he as appeared in technos, foolishs, sapnaps, georges and wilbur’s stream in the past. his character is super cool. in the canon lore, dream and XD do not appear to know each other personally, but many people like to hc that they are siblings in the mcyt tickle community ( @covenofwives has a whole au about it) . i personally write them as non-related

GeorgeHD (HD) is what people believe to be George’s godly counter part (just as XD is to Dream), based on George’s old minecraft name ‘GeorgeeHD’. HD is not canon on the smp, and again, when you read tk fics on him, some people write him and george as siblings, others don’t.

Sapnap4K (4K) represents Sapnap’s godly counterpart, and is also not canon to the dsmp lore. there is debate on what 4K should be called (some call him ‘PandasCanPvP’ based on saps old minecraft name). @covenofwives and @error-pleaseleaveamessage-error have both written him with different names before. it’s all about interpretation, and just as with the other gods, some people headcannon 4K and sap to be related, others don’t

hi i was just thinking about how the big mcyt blogs have really changed since i joined. like, if i think about who i consider "big mcytblr blogs" (with a grain of salt since im terrible at judging these things) i think of people like wooteena, wormweeb, gayminecraftmen, conarcoin, foryouthegays, beacon-lamp, thefluidspineofanarchy/gaseth, thatqueerchoirkid, gnfkitten, hearty-an0n, georgeehd, dreamygeorgenap, petrichormeraki, lilacandladybugs, etc. nowadays its so different and the vibes are completely changed (also id love to see if you can tell when i joined dsmpblr based on this)

you joined in july or august, just like me! :D

and yeah, vibes definitely have changed! the main things i can trace are the size of the fandom and the way creators' boundaries are viewed. i started off as a fanartist in dteamblr, and i remember that when one of my posts blew up to a thousand notes or more, it was practically unheard of. even the biggest "iconic" posts from that time only have about 500 notes-- towards january 2021, that amount had already ballooned significantly!

Unexpectedly, HD laughs and a short gust of chill air brushes over XD’s cheeks, there and gone again as briefly as the laugh. “What do I want? Many things, XD, none of them you’d be willing to give.”

“I said I’d do anything for this peace. I meant it.” He dares to take a step closer to the throne and the starlit deity resting upon it in his nest of furs.

HD sits up straighter in his throne, lips pressed together as he thinks. “Just how desperate are you? Anything? Anything means anything, and that’s a dangerous offer to make.”

XD chokes on the shattered remains of his pride and throws himself to the mercy of HD. “You’ve made me very desperate.”

Hi messy, how you doing?

I've constantly just been thinking about GeorgeHD. Dream XD gas the power to transform your Dreamx right? I was thinking, what if George HD had the power to shift nightmares? XD can transform into anything, but HD can shape-shift other things to torment you. But, HD wouldnt be able to interrupt the Dream like XD, he can only watch. His job would basically be to keep the person sleeping for as long as possible while tormenting them in their sleep. It could be a possible explanation for why Dream started going mad so quickly, even with techno and visitors. Because of his nightmares, he's also on the edge of reality and unreality. His friends appear in nightmares so seeing them irl just makes him mad. Sorry this was long, but this was just a headcanon I have.

that could also branch from way bafore prison, like maybe the reason why he started going mad and starved of control and power is because of the dreams hd has been giving him. like he's lost feelings over his attachments because hd keeps making him think they also have lost him
