i think the only issues i have with the 2007 c&p adaptation is (1) the blonde hair (although i can overlook this one because vladimir koshevoy is an adonis) and (2) the cuts where rodya is supposed to faint bc i don't remember seeing vovochka actually falling to the ground yknow

compared to the 1969 movie adaptation, when georgy taratorkin has to faint, he FAINTS faints like bro was really committed to the role that it's as comedic as it was in the book

Ok whilst overall I prefer Vladimir Koshevoy as Raskolnikov, I love watching the 1970 version because every time Georgy Taratorkin faints he just completely ragdolls and it’s hilarious but really well done.

#2007 is superior though because it perfectly captures the homoerotic tension between Rodya and Dmitry #crime and punishment #raskolnikov

Girls when they learn Georgy Taratorkin was casted as Raskolnikov because Lev Kulidzhanov’s (the director) assistant met him during 1968, while he was hospitalised because of a very serious illness, and thought he looked great with that tired, exhausted look that we know is just natural for Raskolnikov:
