nebula pulled your seatbelt across your chest and gently secured it into the fastener. she looked up at you and paused for a moment before softly patting your head. affection was new for her, but she was always ready to try for you. after making sure you were safe in the passenger seat, nebula took the pilot's seat beside you and pulled up the navigation screen. upon pressing a button, the cockpit of your ship was now filled with a 3d hologram of all nearby planets, along with a brief description of what the habitat was like on each one.

"okay, little star, where do you want to go first?"

Rocket raccoon regression headcanons :) sfw interactions only, DNI if your blog isn’t kid-friendly!

He got the term “regression” from Peter, who age regresses to about 10 years old but that’s a whole different thing

When Rocket regresses, he feels all mixed up and doesn’t know what to do, so it’s almost always a sad kind of regression.

The animal part of him feels like a raccoon kit; walking around on all fours, vocalizing in an animalistic way, and wanting to eat things he usually doesn’t (like bugs and other little creatures).

However, his intelligent mind feels small in a more human way— he likes to solve puzzles, and play with toys, and use a pacifier. He feels happier being like this than when he involuntarily regresses to a raccoon kit.

His main caregiver used to be Groot (who took care of him even before he knew what was happening), but now it’s mostly Gamora who takes care of him when he’s little

Now baby/kid/teen Groot gets to be his playmate and eventually babysitter as he grows up

He almost never regresses when the rest of the guardians are there, though. He worries that they’ll think of him more as an animal than a person just because he sometimes feels that way. He doesn’t want to be seen as an animal, and leans more into “human” regression activities.

He likes to wear comfy clothing when he regresses instead of his flight suit, and used to steal some of his friends’ stuff until Gamora buys him his own PJs.

He loves to build things. He liked to tinker with his usual stuff (explosives, weapons, etc) but is content to play with toys like Legos and building blocks once Peter found out and deemed that too unsafe.

He doesn’t speak a lot when he’s regressed, instead making a lot of noises to communicate, such as hissing or chittering. Only Groot can fully understand him, but the rest of the guardians get what he’s trying to say most of the time
