Billy antis DNI
“We should watch Footloose,” Steve said after finishing his shift at Family Video. Billy had scoffed at first because he didn’t like romantic movies. If it was up to him they’d definitely be watching Nightmare on Elm Street and definitely not because he found Johnny Depp hot in a crop top.
“Didn’t know you were into dancing pretty boy,” Billy offhandedly remarked. He saw Steve roll his eyes from the chick flick section of the store. He also grabbed Reanimator for Max and The Lost Boys.
“Robin said it was good, and I trust her opinion,” Steve grabbed the three VHS tapes Billy was holding and took them to the counter where Robin was waiting. She looked over their choices with a raised eyebrow and took one of the tapes, “Lost Boys? Fitting since Billy looks like a discount David.”
“Buckley I can and will slash your bike’s tires,” Billy half-heartedly threatened while Steve doubled over laughing. Robin mhmm-ed him and she put the tapes on Steve’s account. Billy pouted a little at the fact his boyfriend wasn’t defending him. Steve was wiping away tears and gasping for air, “don’t look at me like that-” Steve never finished the sentence before he dissolved in another fit of giggles.
“You’re lucky you’re cute Stevie,” Billy threw a couple of bags of sour candy onto the counter, “I have way better hair than David.” He chuckled when he heard Robin's fake gag.
“You two are disgustingly in love, stop making me witness it,” Robin slammed the register shut and handed Steve his change out of 20 dollars. Billy barked out a short laugh and said he’d tell Heather that Robin was being mean.
“Heather would think it’s really cool and sexy of me that I bully you two,” Robin reached over the counter for a bag of gummy worms and tore the bag open. Neither Steve nor Billy could argue with that, if anything Heather would encourage more friendly bullying. “C’mon get out of here lovebirds, I don’t wanna see you two being gross in front of my gummy worms.”
Billy licked Steve’s cheek just before they left, just to hear Robin groan.
*******
Billy rummaged in the pantry for some microwave popcorn while Steve set up the VHS player. For someone who lived off of what he could jam in a microwave, Steve did seem to have a pointed lack of popcorn. He heard Steve open the door for the pizza guy and nearly dodged a box of Ritz crackers falling on his head. He cursed under his breath and rubbed the corner of his temple where the box of crackers had attacked him.
“B, the pizza’s here,” Steve called from the living room. Billy gave up on finding the popcorn, slammed the pantry door shut and joined Steve on the couch.
“Only you would get olives on a pizza,” Billy teased his boyfriend a little, laughing when Steve rolled his eyes at him. He took a slice without olives, took a bite and immediately burnt his tongue on the hot cheese. It was Steve’s turn to laugh then.
Billy halfheartedly told Steve to shut up, and snuggled into Steve’s side. Steve gave him a kiss on the forehead as the opening theme to The Lost Boys started to play.
*****
“Ugh I hate that scene,” Steve muttered when Micheal thought David was eating worms out of a Chinese takeout carton.
“Huh? That’s like one of the least gross scenes,” Billy looked up at Steve cringing at the TV screen, watching David slurp up the noodles, not worms.
“Yeah but the idea of eating worms grosses me out, like them wiggling in your mouth? I’d rather eat my own tongue- what are you laughing at?”
“Nothing Stevie, I just think you’re cute when you’re talking.” Steve blushed all the way down to his chest.
****
After The Lost Boys and Terminator, Steve put the Footloose tape in the VHS player. Billy still didn’t know why Stave chose it, he said that Robin recommended it but he was sure Steve wasn’t that into romantic movies. Sure the music from the movie was ok, but a chick flick?
They had finished the pizza by the middle of Terminator and tore through the sour candy Billy had bought at Family Video. Steve left the living room to look for more snacks leaving Billy with the opening minutes of Footloose. He kinda thought the plot was a little dumb, a small podunk town in the middle of nowhere banning rock music and dancing? Sounded like something Carver would get his dad to do.
“Have they got to the part where they race the tractors yet?” Steve came back into the living room with a bag of barbeque chips. He flopped onto the couch next to Billy and opened the bag, popping a chip in his mouth.
Billy put on a faux-offended tone, “Hey! Spoilers!” he topped it off with a hand on his chest. Steve couldn’t help but take the bit, “I thought you didn’t care about chick flicks,” he laughed when Billy made some more mock offended gestures.
They watched the tractor race and then the campaign to have a senior prom at Bomont high after Ariel had told Ren the reason why the town had banned dance. They both yelled at the screen when Chuck hit Ariel. “Fucker,” Billy had mumbled under his breath. The whole standing up for what you think is right felt like an after-school special to Billy, although he did feel for Ariel having an overbearing and suffocating father.
The final dance scene however, is where it got Billy. The pure joy and the lift between Ren and Ariel had his eyes watering again. He had turned away from Steve so the latter didn’t see him tearing up at a dumb movie.
“Billy? Are you ok?” Steve tried to put his hand on Billy’s shoulder but he knocked it away.
“Leave me alone! That shit was fuckin’ beautiful!”
“I am so fucking in love with you Billy Hargrove.”

Ok but just imagine if Steve and Eddie’s roles were switched
Implied harringrove
Steddie is included
Tumblr media
What if instead of Steve finding out about the monsters he forces Nancy to Pick between him and Jonathan. Which she chooses Jonathan.
At the same party that Nancy calls him bullshit he knows it’s true. Though for different reasons. He was indeed faking his attraction to the other. Sure he was attracted to females but he never found romantic attraction in them. Which was driving him crazy.
At the same party he’s absolutely destroyed by Billy Hargrove and that’s how their relationship starts
After months of just casual sex they make it official and Billy gives him his necklace and leather coat
When starcourt happens Steve doesn’t believe it for a second. Billy had been acting weird before so something had to have gone wrong.
Eddie on the other hand had been dragged into everything in season two. As DnD started and Dustin went to him instead. And he ends up becoming friends with Robin as he gets a job at scoops ahoy instead
Steve’s silently mourning for his closeted relationship when Vecna hits. Killing Chrissy, his cousin (for plots sake) and he’s assumed to be missing. No one thinks he’s the murderer as he’s King Steve!
Dustin is only a little aware of the other Robins the one that is able to tell them where he is. After all she had a few encounters with him and she was always painfully aware of him and his conversations when he was talking to Tammy her crush.
Robin and Eddie are obviously out to each other
When they find Steve he’s dressed in Billy’s leather coat which Max immediately recognizes but doesn’t say anything as it dawns on her that Steve was the boy Billy was seeing. (After all she was painfully aware of her brothers quote on quote tendencies.) though she can’t help but ask where he got the necklace. Something she knew was close to Billy’s heart as he immediately answers with sad eyes. “My ex.” Which confuses Nancy and the others as when Steve was seeing someone everyone knew he was seeing something.
Steve is the one jumping in the water first, though it was more like a self harm type deal. Knowing how Billy died and Robin and Eddie are seeing that Steve isn’t a dick at all. He’s the sweetest (lead into a awkward conversation about how he coughs and admits that the only persons he’s ever slept with was Nancy.) ((and Billy but he doesn’t say that.)) and the two look at each other and they still give him sassy remarks but they protect each other anyway.
When they are in the upside down and Steve’s injured Eddie try’s to take Steve’s jacket off. Which he finds recognizable but can’t place where
When they are about to leave Steve is lifted into the air and to Eddie’s shock the boy as a cassette labeled Billy’s mix in his player (something he can’t help but shoot a eyebrow at as pieces connect) though it doesn’t connect completly until he’s holding the sobbing boy in his arms as Metallica and Black sabbeth play in the headphones. He doesn’t understand what the others saying but it comes together when he hears a few choked out Billy’s and it finally connects.
They don’t talk about it and when everyone is safe and sound Eddie and Robin decide to test the other. Just to be sure. So they sit him down and watch a bunch of movies. They don’t pull out rocky horror show.
They watch Top Gun and what they’ve given up on finding happens. Their in the theaters and Steve’s squirming in his seat next to Eddie and Robin. Robin is bored with it as it’s the volleyball scene. Eddie is into the movie to and doesn’t catches out Steve’s face is beat red and he’s sporting something. Though Robin is quick to get up moving to the seat behind them to leave as he moves yo Eddie’s ear without a Steve noticing. And Eddie’s blushing as he looks over at steve who’s fidgeting with his hands and drooling at the shirtless men on screen. “I don’t think straight boys get hard ons when watching shirtless men.” She teases.
Now that they are aware of it the watch Tim Curry in the outfit with the other who is dying in his spot and trying to disappear but he finally relaxes when he hears Eddie say a comment about Tim curry’s ass and Robin saying something about one of the girls. He relaxes as he fidgets with Billy’s necklace who he’s come to terms with.
Eddie and Steve start to grow closer and Steve opens up about Billy and how in love he was with the boy. Blind to how some parts of it was abusive. (Like how Billy always never let up in a fight that normally led to something physical) and it pains Eddie to listen to a oblivious Steve who doesn’t realize men can experience domestic violence to. Not only that but it pains him to hear about how in love the other still is with Billy as Eddie’s fallen for the preppy asshole.
Eddie and Steve do end up together at some point, (after some angst) and Steve falls helplessly in love. Though Eddie is quick to accept that Steve wears Billy’s jacket just as much as his and he’s grown to accept it.
Eddie’s also really fucking careful with what songs he plays as Steve freaks out when one of Billy’s favorites comes on.
When they first have sex it’s way more caring then Steve And Billy’s first time and he cry’s a little and curls himself into Eddie’s chest.
It’s Eddie who says he loves Steve first. Making Steve finally realize that Eddie wasn’t going to leave him and is commited to the relationship just as much as him
Steve finally pieces it together of why he prefers guys. He loves being taken care of. As his parents never did that, and the gender roles were really bad when it came to relationships. He hated how he was expected to take care of the family all the time. But now with Eddie he doesn’t and he’s happier then ever
Steve finally talks with max and they both bond over memories of Billy. Good and bad. And max ends up giving him a box filled with Billy’s clothes. Finding his favorite tank top the other wore and Jean pants. Eddie helps the other cope and helps him take care of them.
Due to Billy’s death he was forced to be cremated and Max ends up stealing some of her brothers ashes and giving them to Eddie who ends up getting a little urn and gives it to Steve on the others death anniversary.
Dustin doesn’t catch on until later and when he does he ends up taking Steve to the railroad track to give him the talk but Steve ends up talking his ear off about how nervous he was about a gift he was planning on giving Eddie. And Dustin loves him immediately when he realizes he can have a ‘older brother’ that wasn’t like Eddie. Eddie wasn’t able to give him advice on girls but Steve is and they end up bonding more then Eddie as they had more to relate to them anything.
Robin and Steve do get close and they also bond over girls and they get really close when they start to watch shows together. (Baywatch)
Bonus
“Robin he paused Fast time at 53 minutes and 5 seconds! He does not like guys!”
“EDDIE, do you not realize what other movie he’s paused at. He always pauses at the scene with Johnny Depp in that crop top. Plus are we not going to discuss how many times hes borrowed 21 jump street and other Johnny Depp movies!” A pause. “He’s at least bisexual or somewhere in the middle.”
Also is no one going to talk about Joe’s in this

Harringrove Week: Day 2
prompts: blind date & snowed in
You Make it Hurt So Good
warning: disgustingly cute
read on ao3
It was cold inside the Family Video, thanks to the asshole who the night before though their store window made good target practice for rock throwing. They boarded up the window the best they could in the time they had before they had to open, but the February breeze still passed through the small cracks in the particle wood, and the snow outside was damning both he and Robin to spend their Saturday, eight hour shift, in a makeshift refrigerator.
Steve could barely focus on the cold, however, as his attention was fully drawn to the couple who had been walking up and down the aisles trying to pick out a movie, saying hardly anything to each other, for nearly an hour. Robin had approached them, trying to see if she could help out with their selection, but the girl—who stood a considerable distance away from the man—had rudely brushed her off. Robin had stomped her way back over to the counter, rolling her eyes and calling the girl a few choice names that Steve wouldn’t dare repeat.
On any ordinary day, Steve would not have paid the patrons of the store much attention, especially not bickering couples unable to settle on which movie they would watch together later that night. But, the store was empty save for the two individuals, and Steve wasn’t all that excited to watch Robin’s choice of movie, oh, and the guy that was tied to the girl with the attitude was none other than the legend himself: Billy Hargrove. Steve would be an idiot if he didn’t take interest, especially considering how he, Billy Hargrove, self-proclaimed babe magnet, seemed to be crashing and burning right before Steve’s very eyes.
They both seemed super uncomfortable, neither of them appeared to be very happy, especially Billy who looked to be a lot more tense than Steve was used to seeing him. He was tightening his fists and clenching his jaw and if Steve hadn’t gotten to know Billy a little bit better over the last several months, he would have thought Billy was seconds from punching a hole in the horror movie display.
He got to know Billy. He got to know that the person that he’d made himself out to look like was nothing more than a mask, and that his sharp edges and harsh exterior were just that—surface level. Steve hadn’t really managed to break all the way underneath the surface just yet, but he knew, at least from what he’d seen from the way he interacted with Max—ruffled fiery red hair and smiles that couldn’t be faked—that he definitely wasn’t the Billy Hargrove everyone thought he was.
But, Steve still lingered onto some of those other preconceived notions he had of his—that Billy was a lady killer, and womanizer, and he always had all the girls swooning.
This girl, she was having none of it, and neither was Billy.
The scene almost looked like a parent taking a photo of her two kids, brother and sister, standing there with crossed arms and frowns on their faces as their mom kept telling them to “get closer” and “pretend like you love each other.”
Steve wouldn’t lie, he found it just a little bit amusing.
So he stood there, behind the counter, oblivious to the cold weather pouring in through the cracks in the wood barricade, staring at the couple of fools.
By some miracle, after more than an hour of constant arguing and inspecting every last tape in the entire store, the two of them finally appeared to settle on a movie. The two of them began making their way up to the counter, and Steve quickly had to act cool—pretend like he hadn’t been watching the two of them like they were his own personal film for the last hour.
They walked beside each other like two, very stiff boards, hands firmly at their side like the risk of their hands brushing together by accident would be the end of the world. Billy was gripping the tape in his hand with white knuckles and as much as Steve wanted to poke the bear a little, and as much as he knew Billy wasn’t the violent and rageful person he once was, he decided it was best not to risk breaking his nose for a fourth time.
Billy set the tape on the counter and immediately went to grab his wallet from his pocket, barely sparing a glance in either his or Robin’s direction. Steve picked up the tape, seeing that the movie they finally settled on was Footloose and trying to figure out how it took the two of them a whole goddamn hour to settle on Footloose. Steve just ignored the thoughts running wild through his mind and stuck to his usual customer script with a “Find everything okay?” and a “Is this your first time renting with us?”
They answered the questions, Steve tapped away at his keyboard, antsy for the two of them to walk out of the store so that he and Robin could gossip about the whole ordeal, and it was as if the girl was capable of reading his mind.
“You got a bathroom?” she asked, her voice was nails on a chalkboard kind of annoying with the way she spoke around her chewing gum.
“Yeah, we’ve got one in the back.” Steve answered, pointing to the very obvious ‘restroom’ sign directly behind him.
She scoffed, and Steve was beginning to understand why Billy was keeping a considerable distance from her. She was like a disease, made evident by the second she walked away, leaving Billy by himself, and seeing the way that Billy took a deep breath.
“You alright there big guy?” Steve asked, noting the way Billy had placed both of his hands on the counter for support.
“Never better Harrington.” he said, unconvincingly, refusing to meet Steve’s eyes yet again.
Steve just shook his head, and rang him up, wanting the uncomfortable situation to finally be over with because the energy both of them were wafting off and spreading was intoxicating and Steve would like to be able to breathe a little bit too.
Billy just waited there, in silence, for the girl to finally come out of the bathroom, which was taking much longer than Steve would have predicted.
“She better not be shitting in our bathroom.” Robin said offhandedly, under her breath, but definitely not quiet enough that neither Steve nor Billy didn’t hear it.
“I mean,” Billy chuckled, “it might explain the stick up her ass.”
Billy still seemed uncomfortable, even while joking around, still gripping the edge of the counter tightly and leaning all of his weight down into it, and Steve thought better not to question it, she would be out soon, surely.
“Uh,” Robin’s voice perked up again, standing to her feet, actually gaining the stressed boy’s attention somehow, “isn’t that your girl outside?”
Billy turned around and Steve followed his gaze out the window, and low and behold, that brunette mess of a perm was trudging her way through the deep snow of the parking lot, running like the wind.
“Did she crawl out the fucking bathroom window??” Steve said, thinking out loud, completely oblivious to the thing he was implying right in front of Billy until he had actually said the words. It might have just been enough for that former rage inside of Billy to kick back into gear. “Shit sorry, I’m probably just misreading—”
Steve didn’t get to finish his long-winded, rambling apology, and it was fine that he didn’t, because it was based on the assumption that Billy was upset. He had been expecting at the very least Billy would storm out the store doors, and drive off, faster than the snow outside would allow.
Except, Billy just slumped further into the counter, like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
“Oh thank god.”
Nope. Not at all what Steve was expecting him to say, and definitely not with the amount of relief in his voice, coming out like a much needed exhale, like he’d been holding his breath underwater for hours. Steve didn’t know what to say to that, and neither did Robin, who just stood there dumbly behind him.
“I’ve been trying to get her to take the hint for the last hour now,” Billy said exhaustedly, “I would have crashed my car before I took her back to my house.”
Steve just shook his head, completely dumbfounded. “Wait, then why take her on the date?” Steve asked, a little bit too curious and probing a little too much into something that wasn’t his business, especially considering that just a minute ago he wanted Billy to leave the store, not stay any longer.
But god, Billy was a better movie than any, and definitely one hunk of a leading man.
“My fuckin’ step-mom surprised me with a blind date with her coworkers daughter, didn’t give me a chance to say no before she was already knocking at my front door.” Billy said, angrily, but the anger quickly faded away into a relieved and comfortable laugh. “Shit, I don’t even like girls.”
Even in the abandoned silence of the Family Video on a heavy snow day, the room fell unnervingly quiet, with the three of them, standing around in a triangular formation, trying to decide whether they heard Billy correctly.
Steve knew he heard correctly when Billy slapped a hand over his mouth in dramatic and panicked fashion.
Billy, even in the freezing cold temperatures of the store, was sweating bullets. He looked ready to pass out, and it was by sheer luck that he was already leaning up against a steady surface, and not over in the displays, because Steve didn’t feel like playing VHS dominoes.
“I just said that out loud, didn’t I?”
All he and Robin could do was stand there and nod their heads, rapidly and tense and unsure of how to proceed—other than, with great caution.
“Hi, uh, don’t freak out!” Robin spoke up, her voice all shaky and out of breath, clearly freaking out herself, “I’m, well, me too—I mean, not like—I mean. I do like girls, so, opposite, but also, same?”
Billy was just staring at her, the cogs visibly turning in his head as he tried to somehow string together the alphabet soup Robin had been spitting out of her mouth to form something of a coherent sentence. He just nodded along, somehow picking up what Robin was putting down—or rather, clumsily dropping to the floor.
And yet, there was still silence. Steve and Robin still stood awkwardly, and Billy, even after seemingly making sense of Robin’s rambling, remained tense and fearful, hands shaking and forehead glimmering underneath the fluorescent lights.
Steve, like Robin, never really had a way with words, and yet, once again, just like Robin, he couldn’t keep his damn mouth shut. The nervous tapping of Billy’s fingers against the counter, the annoyance of it all driving him temporarily insane, Steve was about ready to lose it. The will to keep his lips sealed had vanished, needing to fill the silence and cover up the sound of Billy’s nails.
“You’re gay, she’s gay, I’m also kind of gay,” yeah, Steve had no idea where he was going with that, but he just kept vomiting out the words, pointing his fingers all around the room and waving hisarms around like it was something ceremonious, “We’re all gay!”
There was another beat of silence, and Steve had for a moment thought that his totally fool-proof plan had failed him, but that was until he heard a discarded chuckle leave Billy’s mouth. A chuckle that quickly turned into a fit of laughs from all three of them, looking at each other, seeing just how ridiculous the whole situation was.
“What I mean to say is,” Steve said in between fits of laughter, “you’re safe here, we’re cool.”
“Out of all places for the queers to congregate,” Billy said, the tension leaving him with every laugh, “I would not have thought it to be the place with the word ‘family’ in it’s title.”
It was oddly comforting, seeing Billy all relaxed like that. Refreshing even. He’d been so used to the mask he put on, and it was then, for the first time, that he was finally getting a little peek beneath the surface, seeing proof that Billy was just like any ordinary guy with a reasonable fear. He was seeing beneath the surface and he liked what he was seeing. Billy’s smile. The way his jaw relaxed. The way his shoulders no longer met his ears. The way his eyelashes covered his bright blue eyes, reading of calmness and vulnerability, allowing his body just that moment of peaceful rest.
Well, who would Steve be if not a total sap, right?
Billy fiddled with the copy of Footloose in his hands, looking back and forth between Steve and the window looking outside.
“Well I might as well return this now.” he said, dropping the tape right down the return slot in the front of the register.
“What?” Steve asked, feigning surprise, “you don’t like Footloose?”
“I’m not much of a Kevin Bacon fan.”
“Oh come on!” Steve said, like he was trying to plead some kind of case, and he’d grown a sudden passion for the film, “You like music don’t you?”
“By music, you mean Kenny Loggins and John Mellencamp?” Billy asked, looking almost offended, saying the names of the two musicians like they were slurs, “Yeah, I think I’m gonna have to pass on that one.”
“But it’s a classic!”
“The movie is barely two years old. It can’t be a classic.” Billy argued.
“Oh but it will be.” Steve said, “I just know it.”
Billy just rolled his eyes and walked his way to the door, towards the heaps of snow outside, leaving. Leaving Steve.
And maybe it was because he was enjoying their conversation, maybe it was because he was genuinely concerned for his well-being, maybe it was because Billy had his back turned to Steve, giving him a perfect view of his ass in tight jeans, but Steve couldn’t in good conscience let that boy walk out that door.
“Hey!” Steve said, his voice cracking and much louder than he was anticipating, he cleared his throat before speaking again, feeling Robin’s knowing eyes all over the back of his head as he spoke, “Hey, uh, it’s not looking so great out there. Why don’t you hang around here for a little while until the plow comes through?”
The way Billy turned around, without hesitation and like he was hoping Steve would stop him, well, Steve hadn’t been all that sly himself, he couldn’t say he really blamed him.
“Yeah, uh, sure.” Billy said, “That would be cool.”
They sort of just stood there, in silence, watching the other, waiting for the other person to make the next move.
“You guys are pathetic.” Robin said, and if Steve were being honest, he’d forgotten she was even there, “I’m taking my ten. Don’t do anything disgusting.”
Robin was quick to walk off into the stock room, out of sight, leaving just him and Billy, all alone in an empty video rental store.
As per Robin’s request, they didn’t do anything disgusting, at least by her standards. They just sat around on the floor behind the counter, craning their necks and staring up at the TV mounted on the wall, rewinding the tapes, and chatting away.
It was all just so normal, and easy, and Steve had never been used to that. He’d always been so used to being the one to have to woo the other with gifts and expensive dates and well thought out plans for how he’d plant a welcome kiss by the end of the night. With Billy it wasn’t like that, and maybe that had something to do with the fact that it wasn’t actually a real date, but Steve found himself having a much better time just sitting on the floor with Billy, talking about random things, like Billy’s unfounded disdain for John Mellencamp.
“I don’t believe you!” Steve had said, “Come on, sing it with me!”
“You’d have to put a gun to my head Steve.”
Steve was having none of it, closing his eyes and listening to the track play in his head as he sang over the sounds of Billy’s protests. “A little ditty, about Jack and Diane…”
“Oh my god, please stop.”
Steve. Did not stop.
“Suckin’ on a chili dog outside the tastee freez.”
“That’s the dumbest lyric I’ve ever heard.”
“Oh yeaaah! Life goes ooon!!”
“Stop, or I’ll make you stop.” It sounded like a threat, but Billy was laughing.
Steve was asking for it. Literally. He was asking for it. Make no mistake, Steve did not miss the way Billy was licking at his lips.
Billy made him stop by taking away the use of his lips, grabbing him by the face and pulling him in, the connection igniting sparks inside Steve’s chest. God, it was worth it, it was so fucking worth it.
Steve kissed back, like Billy was air, and it was all, so easy. He didn’t have to think about what he was doing, like they were perfectly choreographed, like they had practiced for hours. They just fit, and it made no sensed, because Billy had been the last person he ever thought he would wind up feeling butterflies for.
Steve was absolutely hopeless. That was a fact he knew well. Not even thirty minutes into knowing Billy was in his market, he’d snagged him up, put him in his shopping cart, and wheeled him right up to the cashier to check out.
Too bad Robin had to beat him to the counter, cutting him off.
“What did I tell you?” Robin walked out, “Nothing disgusting!”
“Kissing isn’t gross.”
“It is when it’s you doing it.” she said, “You slobber like a dog.”
Steve just rolled his eyes and looked away from her, looking instead at Billy, gently holding his face in his hands and staring longingly into those deep blue eyes, drowning in them like they were the ocean. Steve figured Robin would find that disgusting as well, and he couldn’t really blame her on that.
They were both, painfully disgusting.
“How is it that lesbians have the rep for moving too fast?” she asked, “It’s been less than an hour and you two look ready to propose.”
They couldn’t argue. Not while neither of them could pull their eyes away from the other.
Robin scoffed. “I’ll go call the Uhaul.”
Steve loved Robin, but her presence was beginning to put a damper on the mood, and all Steve wanted to do was kiss Billy some more.
“Wanna go check out the window your date climbed out of?” Steve said, “Y’know. In the bathroom.”
Billy, embarrassingly quickly, nodded his head.
Steve grabbed Billy by the hand, pulling him to his feet, and running with him all the way to the door, closing it shit as quickly as possible.
But not quick enough before Robin got one final word in.
“Disgusting!!!”
Yeah. They were disgusting.
Steve still couldn’t feel the cold, even directly next to the open window. Because Billy was just so warm.

Alright, I just finished watching Part 1 of Season 4. I was going to finish the whole thing, but it's almost midnight and I do work tomorrow. Sadly I didn't get any replies done tonight, but here's the head canons that have come up for me since doing the rewatch (now that I have time to focus strictly on Steve, and not you know....everything else going on).
This one is so random, but I just now noticed that Steve has leather seats in his BMW. I don't know if all BMW's have leather seats, but for someone that brings a lot of girls to Lover's Lake, I'm just saying.....those seats are probably pretty beneficial for keeping things as clean as possible. Did Steve possibly get the interior of his car done just for that? I could see it.
Steve seems to still jump to violence or violent threats as a defense, as noted when he threatens to punch Dustin's teeth out a second time or whatever the phrasing is. I feel like this is really reminiscent of his King Steve days, and that threatening others not only equates to him being tough, but it keeps people from prying past his facade and allowing him to be vulnerable. If he's feeling in a vulnerable position, chances are he's going to make a threat to deter from it.
THE CEMETARY SCENE. This one is going to be a huge stretch, but it's my interp and so I'm rolling with it. As soon as Max says "turn here", Steve immediately wipes a hand down his face. As we know from the series, this is a tic he seems to have whenever feeling particular emotional, as if "wiping off his feelings." To me, this heavily implied to me that Steve knew that turn led to the cemetary. Since Steve doesn't have anyone he's lost personally, I'm going to through out this hc that he has gone to Billy's grave since he died. This also goes along with the fact that he knew exactly which grave they were going to and was able to get his car there without Max's help (granted, we just see a wide shot of his car and Max could easily be giving him directions, but let my Harringrove heart have this).
Going off of Billy's birthday on his grave, I'm officially calling it that Steve's is April 29, 1966. There's a ton of theorizing about the year Steve was born, but this would make the most sense, because Steve is supposed to be a year older than Billy and with Billy being born in March of 67, Steve would have to be a 66 baby in order to be the oldest of the two. The sad thing is that in present day, that would make Steve only a few years younger than my parents - oof. But that also really solidifies the fact that I play Steve as a 20 year old post season 4.
Steve hates spiders. I think that's pretty obvious in canon by his interaction, but I'm extending this to say that Steve is fine with presenting as the 'manly man' in scenarios, except when it comes to killing the spider. He's definitely going to make his partner take that role.
I've had this unofficial head canon for awhile that Steve has a fake ID, and I've used it in several threads. I'm confirming this, because who else would have bought the six pack for Eddie that was in that car? Steve is the oldest of the group, and I surely don't think Nancy with her rule abiding lifestyle would have a fake ID, and Robin doesn't even have a license. So head canon, more or less confirmed.
Somewhat NSFW head canon, but Steve is very....very terrified of bondage. If his partner is into it (we see you and your handcuffs, Munson) then he's going to be willing to try for them, but it will take a lot of prep and coaxing and a ton of after care. Between being tied up by Russians, choked by the Demobat, pulled down and held up by vines.....he really doesn't like the feeling of being tied up and helpless.
Steve is absolutely 1000% a combat fighter. I always knew he had love and passion for his bat, and I know his main weapon of choice from the surplus store is a hatchet, but I never realized just how often this boy is grabbing handheld objects as weapons. He grabbed an oar twice to fend off danger. He grabbed the lamp. And maybe we could say it's because there was nothing else readily available, but he could have gotten all sorts of things at the surplus store and he still chose a close combat, hand-on object. I know he loses fights a lot, but with the way he absolutely destroyed that demobat with his bare hands, I think he's a better direct fighter than he gets credit for.
And that's all I have for now. As always, I love hearing what you all think or having questions to further develop this and make my interpretation really personal to me.

Ghostface AU Stranger things RP
OPEN-
Steddie, Stonathan, Harringrove is all welcome :)
This is an nsfw rp so no Minors. if you reply and do not have an age in your Bio then I wont respond.
IM sorrryyyy Steve is a bit of a sub in this rp :(
Summary- Steve is well aware of the murders happening in Hawkins. But he never expected to be chosen as the killer’s next kill. or is there something more going on that is hidden up the killer’s sleeve?
Tumblr media
Steve Harrington was bored. he had a day off at work and was stuck sitting in his empty house. filled with expensive furniture and fake photos of him smiling with his parents. He huffed and laid back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling with a bored expression. he decided to watch TV, maybe the news might have more entertaining stories. as he clicked on the large TV remote, he let out a sigh before resting his head on his hand and the tv glowed in the dim living room.
“Still no news on the growing homicide case that has swept the small town of Hawkins, Indiana in a frenzy. The killer is yet to be caught but eyewitnesses say that they were wearing a Ghostface Halloween costume before they fled the scene. it is a miracle that they made it out alive, given the serial killer has never been one to leave vicitms’ behind”
Steve’s eyebrows knit together before he turned the channel to a horror movie, he had probably seen a dozen times. He was so tired of hearing about this serial killer. yes, it was terrible, but it was all people would talk about now, ‘oh who is it gonna kill next?’, ‘oh it’s because of those terrible horror movies corrupting our children’ blah blah blah.
He was over it, wishing that they could just catch the guy already. whoever they were, they had already killed three people. a couple and some old guy who he hadn’t bothered to learn the name of. Steve watched the movie and slightly jumped when a jumpscare came on. he then looked to his back door. seeing the blinds open and showing the glowing blue pool out in the backyard. he wasn’t scared at all. He got up and moved to the back door, double checking the lock before closing the blinds.

a recreation of the jancy scene w murray (how he analyses the shit outta them)but with harringrove 😳
“Oh no, we can’t.”
Steve covered his glass with one hand, looking at Billy.
“Yeah, I’ve gotta drive.”
“Drive? What, tonight?” Murray was looking at them with a confused grin.
“Uh, our parents-” Steve didn’t want to say my parents won’t give a fuck because they’re in the Virgin Islands, but Billy’s dad hits him when he misses curfew.
“Would be proud if they knew what you were up to.” Murray cut Steve off. “Just tell ‘em you’re at Eric’s, or Bobby’s, or whoever’s, and take my guest room.” Billy looked at Steve.
“I mean, do you want to stay?”
“It is pretty late. Will that be, okay?” Billy just gave him a half smile, turning back to Murray.
“Could I use the sofa?”
“Okay, I’m confused. What’s going on here? Lover’s quarrel?” Billy’s eyes went stony as Steve stiffened in his seat.
“We’re not together. We’re not, like that.” Billy spat the words.
And Murray just fucking laughed.
“You’ve told me a lot of shockers today, but that, that is the first lie.”
“It’s not a lie.” Steve tried to laugh it off, meet the crazy bastard where he was. If he, if he had noticed the way he looks at Billy, the way he finds stupid ways to touch him, if he tells Billy, Steve is as good as fucking dead.
“Why not? You’re young, attractive. You’ve got, chemistry, history, plus the real shit. Shared trauma.” Billy crossed his arms, sitting back in the couch. Murray turned to him. “Trust issues. And extreme rage. Am I right? Something to do with your dad. I’m guessing, abuse? Physical, verbal, mental, whole nine yards. He pushed away your mother, the one person who is supposed to love you.”
“What? No. I mean, my dad’s-”
“An asshole.” Billy glared at Steve. He just shrugged. Murray hummed.
“It is a curse to see so clearly. You,” he turned to Steve. “You’re harder to read. Probably, like everyone, afraid of what would happen if you accepted yourself for who you really are, and retreated back to the safety of-name! Name!” He snapped at Billy.
“Nancy.” Steve slapped his leg.
“Oh, Nancy. We like Nancy.” He put on this high voice, taunting Steve.
“Yes!” Steve said it like it was easy, made Billy grind his jaw. He fucking hated the Wheeler bitch. Hated that she had Steve, this beautiful, perfect person, and tossed him aside like fucking garbage.
“But we don’t love Nancy.”
“What? No. I, I mean, I-I do.” He stammered through the sentence, scrunching his eyes closed. Murray pointed at him.
“There it is, ladies and germs. The second lie of the evening. You’ve got something deep. Something that gives you a very low self image. Abandonment. Neglect, maybe. You take care of everyone in your life, because no one has ever taken care of you.” He took another sip of his drink. “Well, apart from a rotating cast of nannies and housekeepers. And here you are, clinging to Nancy for dear life because you think that’s easiest. Settle down with a boring old wife. At least then you’d never be alone.”
Steve choked on thin air. His face was red. His eyes were bright.
“So! How’d I do?” Billy was trying really fucking hard not to deck this asshole, right here, right now. Murray snorted. “My goodness. You two are adorable, aren’t you?”
He leaned forward, slamming his glass down and taking the rest of the vodka as he stood up.
“Listen, there’s a pull out sofa in my study if you want it.” He was behind them now, climbing the stairs. “But if I were you, I’d just cut the bullshit, and share the damn bed.” He left the room, leaving the two boys on the couch.
Steve was staring at the ground, pointedly not looking at Billy. Billy sighed.
“I’ll take the pull out. Goodnight, Princess.” He retreated to the study, just barely caught the little goodnight, Bill.
-
Billy swore when he finally figured out how to get the pull out to actually pull out.
He slammed it on the ground, ripping off his clothes.
He put on a pair of sweats, didn’t wanna bother with a shirt when he was so white hot, so fucking mad.
This guy had pretty much outed him to Steve.
They had always skirted around the issues with his dad, but Billy wasn’t stupid. He knew Steve knew.
And this guy had said all that shit, had told them to fuck.
And yeah, Billy wanted to. Of course he did, just look at Steve, but he was,
He was not going to admit to being scared, but he was.
Scared of rejection, scared of getting hurt. He thinks that getting hurt by Steve would probably just crush him.
He flopped around on the mattress for a moment.
“Trust issues? Trust issues?” He was getting antsy, getting like he did when he wanted a fight, wanted to bust his knuckles open and scream.
Usually talking to Steve helped.
Plus, he guesses he needs to clear the air, go up to Steve and no homo a couple thousand times.
-
Steve was sitting on the guest bed, his mind still reeling from what had happened.
“Afraid. I’m not afraid.” He slammed back into the bed, but he couldn’t get comfortable. Couldn’t get his brain to shut up.
Is that what everyone saw when they looked at him? Could everyone see how entirely fake he is? How he brings his empty heart home to an empty house each night? How he doesn’t want to mess things up with Billy, because then he’ll leave, just like everyone else does?
He sat up sharply.
“Retreat? I don’t retreat.” He steeled his back, going to find Billy to talk, to set the record straight.
He opened the door softly, finding Billy already coming towards him in nothing but ratty sweat pants.
“Hey.”
“Hey.” Billy wasn’t really looking at him, sort of looking past him.
“I just, um. I just wanted to say that-”
“No, don’t. He’s so drunk.” Steve dug his nails into the out Billy just offered.
“Wasted.”
“I mean, he knows us for a couple of hours, and he’s got us all figured out?” Steve forced a laugh.
“Exactly. God, okay, yeah. I feel-I’m glad you feel the same way.” Billy shrugged, his shoulders staying stiff around his ears. He crossed his arms over his chest, made his biceps bulge. Steve pointedly didn’t look at them.
“Yeah. Yeah, it’s fine.” Billy’s words were clipped.
They stood for a moment, awkwardly staring at one another in the sitting room. Steve had never been good with uncomfortable situations.
“Uh, so goodnight, I guess.” Billy stared walking back towards the study.
“Yeah. Um, ‘night.” Steve watched as he practically bolted back into the study.
-
Billy tried to settle back onto the lumpy pull out.
Steve had looked so lost, so nervous, the way he always did when his mind was racing out of his control.
But he also looked beautiful, in his faded t-shirt and old, short, basketball shorts.
And Billy couldn’t resist.
What the fuck am I doing? What the fuck am I doing? What the fuck am I doing?
He was staring at the double doors, marching closer and closer.
He was there, was about to knock, and then,
One opened.
And Steve was in his space, hair messy like he’d been tuggin’ on it, eyes wide.
And Billy didn’t think, just pushed him against the other door and kissed him.
Steve pulled off, his big eyes wild as he studied Billy’s face.
Billy felt his heart sink.
And then Steve was there, was kissing the daylights outta him.
And so Billy continued not to think.
He pushed Steve into the room, closing the door behind him as he shoved him onto the bed.
-
They were sitting across from one another the next morning, trying not to make direct eye contact.
Murray made a big show of sitting down at the table, taking both of them in.
He made note of the dark hickies on Steve’s neck he was trying to hide in his hoodie, and what looked like a scratch mark on the back of Billy’s shoulder, visible in the cut up tank top he had thrown on.
He decided to strike.
“So. Billy. How was the pull out?” Billy choked on his juice. Steve dropped his fork.
Surely he couldn’t, couldn’t be asking about that. About how Billy had said wanna cum on your face and did just that.
“Uh, sorry?”
“The sofa.”
“Oh yeah. Yeah it was, it was good.” Murray smirked at him.
“I bet.” He went to take a bite, the egg flopping off his fork and landing with a plap! on the floor. “Oops.” He laughed at Billy, trying to look nonchalant.
Good for them.

post season 3 Billy lives
Bath Buddy
Steve knows Billy is here by the Camaro in the driveway but he is not out back smoking or reading a book in the living room or even napping in Steve's bed. Steve's brow wrinkles with worry, maybe it is a bad day, maybe Billy needed to go for a walk and blow off some steam.
Billy has moved into the chief's cabin now that he is gone, the government giving him the land and a stipend for surviving and keeping his mouth shut. Billy spends most of his time at Steve's house though, when he is not working at the local garage. Steve likes having him around, turns out Billy is not as much of an asshole when he is not trying to put a show on for the world. Steve might even call him sweet if Billy or Dustin are not within ear shot.
Steve knows Billy can take care of himself but that does not stop him from worrying as he starts on dinner. Steve is tired and he definitely prefers Billy's cooking but there are a few things Steve knows how to put together that Billy actually likes. Lasagna being Billy's favorite, he always ends up eating too much and pouting, head resting against Steve's thighs as Steve strokes at his hair listening to him complain about his over stuffed belly.
Steve signs as he gets the lasagna in the oven, still no sign of Billy, he just hopes it is not a really bad day.  On Billy's worst days he goes nonverbal and Steve has never been a fan of silence, filling up the air between them with inane chatter once he get that there was nothing he can do to get Billy talking, going on about anything that comes to mind until Billy is ready to talk again. More often than not Billy will not speak until at least the next day. Those are the days where nothing he does feels like it is helping, but Billy told him once his chatter does help, had said it is why he comes over even though he does not want to be around most people, so Steve keeps trying.
Steve still hopes it is not one of those days as he makes his way upstairs, determined to get the artificial butter smell out of his hair. Ever since Keith put in a popcorn machine Steve always comes home reeking of the stuff. He liked the smell at first, he even liked the popcorn but now outside of work that smell lingering on his skin turns his stomach. Billy does not seem to like it either, always ushering Steve toward the shower when he comes in smelling like fake butter but Billy also has ulterior motives that Steve is more than on board for.
-
Steam billows out of the bathroom as Steve steps out, mirror fogged, the room a blanket of steam from his shower. Water is still dripping down his chest, towel held loosely in one hand around his hips when he hears a shout. Panic shoots through him, that sounded like Billy and Steve darts in the direction it came from.
"Billy!" Steve shouts as he runs into his parents’ bedroom confused and searching, he is sure Billy's shout came from this direction. There is a splash from the bathroom and the light is clearly visibly on from the half open door and Steve does not even think as he grabs up a decorative candle stick and barges in worry pressing him forward.
Steve is not really sure what to make of a naked wet Billy Hargrove, looking disgruntled and surprised as he steps half way out of the large bathtub. "Billy what, what's going on? Are you okay?" Steve asks eyes skirting the room searching for danger and finding none before coming back to Billy.
"I'm fine." Billy hisses as he drags a nearby towel around him and steps fully out. Steve sets the candle stick on the bathroom counter feeling silly for having picked it up as he assesses the scene.
"Okay." Steve says slowly, aware that that tone usually means Billy is ready to snap but he is too curious not to ask. "What were you doing?" Steve knows what it looks like Billy was doing, the bath full of water and Steve cannot think of anything else Billy would be doing naked stepping out of the tub than having been in the bath.
"I…" Billy starts in the same dangerous tone trialing off as his cheeks go pink.
"Were you taking a bath?" Steve ventures stepping closer, feeling a little giddy as Billy's blush darkens making his freckles pop, Steve loves those freckles.
"Yes drop it." Billy hisses but Steve is only half paying attention as he frowns at the lack of bubble baths, salts, or even a rubber duck,  who takes a bath without a rubber duck at the very least.
"You're doing it wrong, you don't even have a duck Sunflower, who takes a bath without a duck?" Steve trails off into a mumble as he turns abruptly as Billy splutters and digs under the counter for all of the bath supplies he keeps in there.
Billy is staring at Steve wide eyed as he brings a large basket over and sits on the edge of the tub. "What’s all this?" Billy asks, that dangerous tone gone replaced with fondness as he runs a finger over the back of a yellow rubber duck at the top of the basket.
"That is Quakmire, he's my bath buddy but you can borrow him, you know if you want to take another one sometime." Steve says cheeks going a little pink, before he starts shifting around and pulling up salts and bubbles, showing them to Billy. "There's also a big bag of Epsom salt under the sink, it helps with inflammation, might do you some good." Steve goes tentative as he reaches out fingers lightly brushing the edge of one of Billy's scars.
"Yeah I'll have to try that Walnut, why I borrowed the tub, they were aching figured it would help." Billy admits as he catches Steve's hand.
"Are they still hurting, do you want me to run you another bath, you feel cold?" Steve says and now that he is paying attention the whole room lacks warmth. Steve dips his free hand into the water and hisses at how cold it, "It's freezing, what, were you taking an ice bath?" Steve feels a little creeping what if leaking in.
"No, no." Billy reassures quickly, he is always good at guessing where Steve's brain is going and Steve knows the horrors of the mind flyer is never far from his mind. Billy blows out a frustrated huff of air before making a grumbling admittance "It was hot when I got in, I feel a sleep in the tub."
Steve blinks up at Billy as he processes this information, Billy's frown growing as a grin pulls at Steve's lips. "You fell asleep in the tub!" Steve says, and then says it again as he starts laughing. He cannot stop laughing, one hand bracing against the side of the tub the other clutching at Billy's as he imagines the disgruntled look that would befall Billy's face.
"Shut the fuck up." Billy hisses, and Steve would, honestly but he cannot get control over himself. Only manages to break the laughing long enough to shriek as Billy pushes him into the tube and he is enveloped in cold. He is right back to laughing as soon as he finishes spluttering water.
"Baby come back!" Steve tries between laughs as Billy stomps out of the room, bath products scattered all over the floor form the basket falling when Steve got pushed in.
-
Steve still has not quite gotten his snickering under control by the time they finish eating. Billy glaring at him anytime a little huffing laugh tries to escape only making it worse. "Hey how about we take a bath together?" Steve asks once they are on the couch and despite the laughing Billy still has his head pillows on Steve's thighs as he complains about eating too much.
"You just want to get me naked and pliant so I'll forgive you for all the laughing." Billy rolls onto his side pressing his face against Steve's stomach, bare in his crop top. "It won't work."
"Couldn't hurt to try."  Steve bites off another laugh, Billy always forgives him anything after a blow job.
Billy hums in agreement "Why wait for the bath when you can start making it up to me now Walnut." Billy says with a sharp nip against Steve's stomach, Steve’s hand tightening in his hair involuntarily.
Steve licks his lips looking down at Billy as he sucks a mark against Steve's skin. "Yeah, what should I do to make it up to you sunflower?" Steve asks anticipation burning in his belly as Billy pulls his mouth away and looks up at him.
"Just be a good boy for me, gonna make you really earn it." Billy's grin is a promise Steve is eager to meet.
Thanks for the prompt babe 💜💜😊
