I found it interesting/useful to make a list of all the songs in Heartstopper Season One paired with what's happening in the show while the song plays, so I decided to do the same for Season Two! Obviously, spoilers ahead:

1. Shatter - opening scene, Charlie and Nick texting and meeting at school

2. Out of My League - sleepover!

3. Pressure to Party - sleepover dancing!

4. The Beach - Charlie telling Tori he'll make sure it's better for Nick; end of episode one

5. Coming of Age - beginning of episode 2; parent teacher conferences

6. Paradise - playing with Nellie in the park and then kissing and looking at the photos

7. Welcome to the Sidelines - Elle at the art school open day making friends

One of my favorite scenes is that one in the beginning of episode two, when Nick and Charlie start texting about the Ben situation. Not just because the acting is good, but because the song played throughout this scene mentions being so nervous around someone that you aren’t always a good friend to them. And in this scene, Nick is afraid of being too much and tries to tone down his concern for Charlie at first, which doesn’t do any good. When he realizes that Charlie needs to know he’s supported and cared for, he takes the leap and starts saying everything he was previously too scared to say, and the moment he does so, the line “Is it cool when I don’t care?” is sung in the background. It’s not cool, and he realized that.

I just love how the music perfectly compares and contrasts with this scene and that it all comes together in that one line, toward the end.

this is going to feel like screaming for help into the big void that is tumblr BUT has anyone figured out when exactly in heartstopper season 2 "i wanna be your girlfriend" by girl in red plays? Netflix put it in their official heartstopper playlist on spotify, but despite great efforts and conversations with several other fans, no one can seem to figure out when it plays. my best guess would be, perhaps, far in the background when charlie confronts ben at lambert, because you can sort of hear music in the distance but it's impossible to tell what song is playing... anyone got any idea? has anyone figured this great mystery out lol?
