ok idea i had i just wanted to put here to make it look like i have more ideas

after fixing up planet cereal and banishing all of the Two dragon balls on that rock to the depths Granolah and Monaito decide to head to earth to just have a new life and find more for themselves.

landing on the planet theyre greated by Piccolo instantly (who heard abt them from goku) and he offers to lodge them cuz hes like Damn…a namekian..hes kind of old as fuuck though so its like kind of weird just two random guys and grandpa hangingout next to piccolos plushie collection. granolah drinks too much water and throws up once

after a month or so granolah starts to wonder what itd be like to live in the city. Hed pass by the sugarians every time he visisted the city on planet cereal but he never really lived in a community like that. piccolo offhandedly mentions that krillin (gokus pal) lives there once it comes up in conversation. granolah is like woah a friend of the saiyans hm... maybe ill see what hes like

so they all visit krillins apartment randomly (just two dudes and grandpa) and monaito is obviously inspecting the apartments floorplan like wooahhh this is soo cool -looks at granolh with pleading old grandpa eyes- and granolah is like um can we live somewhere like this and piccolo is like Yes. Please leave my house.

there ends up being an apartment right next to krillins for rent so piccolo out of pocket pays for it (how does he have money) and now granolah and monaito ring their doorbell every single day and marron has a weird grandpa who likes to watch tv in their living room because granolah doesnt know how to interior decorate his own apartment

this comment made me cry and i just wanna add onto it a bit. from what weve seen. everything four does, he does it out of a need to basically have something to do, some sort of purpose. when he saw the planet collapsing into black hole in bfb 1, he saw the opportunity to save everyone and took it. and as the series progressed you could tell he was getting more sensitive to the people around him. it was so obvious by the end how reliant he was on what others thought of him compared to how he was at the beginning. and this emotional growth, despite causing him pain for the most part, is exactly what hed wanted for all of his existence. and earth had finally been the thing thatd given it to him, what it’s really like to be alive and not just a thoughtless tool. and this is why he decided to basically end himself just so he could be forever inside the earth and also the show. four never wants to leave bfdi because it made him feel human

I WAS THINKING in the augmented!philippa scenario like. i can see her being grounded in earth and shes like nooooot doing well and its very obvious that the stressors in her life are like causing her to have some volatile “augmented” behavior and i think shed lash out and get her leave forcefully extended. like visiting her family and she hasnt made barely any regression progress with her dna and its like TOO MUCH to be around them and to be around humans. and likeeee maybe shed go to JJ or hed reach out to her, either way he offers to take her on shore leave on some more rural planet or something that JJ’s been comissioned to build something on (this would be a swampy planet specifically hehe) and they just spend time together building things and helping philippa to RELAX as her natural pigmentation and features slowly reassert themselves. :)

god i feel like i've sent so many asks to you but you have a very nice logical way of putting things into words so have another ask i guess:

i cant wrap my head around the writers intentions for reginald. s1 was so reliant on him being incredibly smart and working behind the scenes of everything, and to extent this carried onto s2. but if his plan for the kids all along was oblivion and the seven bells then why:

did he drug and brainwash the kid with the most destructive ability when he knew that even specially trained soldiers couldnt match the guardians. i guess this is a bit of a meh point as viktor didnt need his power to stand on a star but still...

did he purposefully stunt the umbrellas but let the sparrows develop to a higher level of expertise with their powers. if he needs to fight the guardians, and thinks they may die in the process, then fully train your soldiers instead of handicapping them.

did he let five get so arrogant and out of control to the point where he ran out of the house at thirteen never to be seen (by reginald) again. the second he loses even one of those kids his entire plan falls apart, youd think hed have a tighter hold on things.

did he try to keep the academy after bens death. related to the above point, maybe he does have a way to reach five (televator?) but ben is still dead and i imagine dragging a dead body into oblivion would be difficult. ben would have been a rotten corpse by the time reginald finally took the umbrellas to oblivion, not in a fit state to be transported to a battleground through a thin walkway. plus the siblings would probably get suspicious at this point, maybe even back out completely.

did he even stop at 7. i get that he doesnt like kids and at a certain point theres too many to control, but dude needs a backup plan. he lost 2/7 in a scenario where losing even one means total failure. also, it was always a possibility that someone could die in oblivion, so why kill klaus and only take 7 in the first place.

did he unalive himself in s1. if he needs to operate the machine in oblivion for this to work, and hes stunted klaus to the point where he doesnt even know how to summon ghosts... what was his plan... what was he going to tell klaus in the day that was... what could klaus have even done at that point. (and he was 100% dead bc klaus found him in the void)

whats the point of freezing abigail on the moon, and sending luther to protect her, if your just going to rewrite the universe entirely... full offense to reg but luthers mission was entirely pointless.

if you can rewrite the universe.. bring back your old planet... why stay on earth.

ik this is a lot and i dont expect you to have the answers to any of these but s1 set up so many questions and we're 3 seasons in and theyve only been added too and contradicted? i feel like having a villain with understandable motivations is a pretty big part of a successful story. and reg is so complicated, and the implications that he does have feelings of guilt or affection towards the kids (giving viktor the violin that his dead wife left him, talking to luther under his favourite tree and the almost affection when he finds out luther found his unopened packages, everything about retraining klaus in s3)

again, sorry this is so long and out of the blue, i just want to idk vocalise how stupid this set up feels, like the writers are backing themselves into a corner they dont know how to get out of..

Anon, I can Ockham's razor all of this really quick for you: the writers did not fucking know about Oblivion or the seven bells or anything remotely like that when they wrote Season 1. That's why everything seems stupider in retrospect now. I wish I could offer some deeper explanation to your very eloquent and valid questions, but sometimes the answer is just 'this is a show written season by season by different writing teams that clearly do not get enough time to go back and study the existing canon in order to craft a coherent narrative, which is why everything is off the rails now'. I often mourn the show we could have had if Season 2 had properly built on what was set up in Season 1 instead of going full light entertainment.

I think that Reginald is an incredibly compelling character anchored by a truly great performance by Colm Feore, but also that they keep using Reginald whatever way fits them best depending on the season, and by this point it has become jumbled and contradictory, which is such a shame.

I really would love to discuss your questions, but it would always circle back to 'this makes no sense anymore because there was no overarching story plan by that point in time that would let the writers know about bloody project Oblivion'. I'm with you on the fact that this set-up feels stupid. It's becoming really difficult to care about consistency in the story if half the things happening each season are forgotten by the writers in the following.

okay so after finishing ntn im rereading gtn and in hindsight jod making them solve a bunch of like weird puzzles to become lyctors is so funny. like i guess the idea is that if they figure it out themselves itll feel less like jod is *telling* them to kill their cavs and more like theyre *choosing* to kill their cavs, more mirroring the orig 8 (who i think were meant to understand genuinely did discover the technique for becoming a lyctor, given jod got his powers in a totally different way and pretty clearly isnt omniscient about them (side note: at the end of htn i think mercy thinks jod got his powers by like swapping souls or something with alecto, that he knew how to become a lyctor without killing your cav and tricked them into thinking there was no other way, but like, DOES he know that? we know theres some other process for merging souls rather than one soul eating another because of paul, but we dont even know if paul's a lyctor, and i think we have no idea if you could become a lyctor without someone dying or like, eating the soul of a planet jod style))

okay i just reread the section at the end of htn where theyre talking about this and he definitely lets mercymorn believe he did the perfect lyctorhood but like...he totally didnt, he did a weird thing with the soul of the earth itself and also eating like 10 billion other souls. so like. i guess hed prefer she think he had them pointlessly murder their friends than prefer she think he killed 10 billion people. its really unclear what exact lies jod is telling about the death of earth

Do you have an innerworld? Whats it like?

We do, its very diverse and intense. As a fragmented ststem of 500+ (sorry thrasher its more than you think) we have very intense cultures snd ways of life which i have full confidence will never meet the external workd or be shown in any capacity. We have 3 inner worlds.

There is the “imaginary world” which is the one most of us grew up in. It’s about the size of saturn roughly and is a large earth like atmosphere. With various mega fauna biomes. From living forests, parasitic sludge, deep ravines and cave systems to tornado valleys. There are threatening wolf packs, dinosaur herds, demons, ghosts, ficitives, somewhere im there fucking patric bateman is walking around.

Theres also “xeno” which is a dnd map we created but used as a inner world as well. The planet is roughly the size of jupiter. With a methane ocean and everything is floating islands. There are 12 gods of elements that keep the world in harmony with classic dnd races as well as the other animals/ alters we have. Everyone rides dragons in that one. I dont go there i dont wanna die.

Lastly theres crystal world which is more vauge to me and something i dont fully understand but from what i hear uts specifically for our object kin and alters so if your say a bolt. You go there. And chill. I hear it’s extremely quite and desolate abd smaller like the size of the moon. Very pretty rock and mineral formations though

Most unique aesthetic in the collective?

Hmm. Ill say p03 from inscription hes a robot that has control issues. But beyond that his tech and mechanical aesthetic fused with horror is unique. He often spread wires and metal out like roots and will experiment on animals when hes bored making them visibly horrific with wires and battery acid leaking out of them. Sometimes theres visible springs or locking mechanisms.

On the flip side hati also has a strong aesthetic. He can split himself up to 100’s of altersall with unique stories and traumas. Hes a pupiteer and will do this for years before confessiong it was all an act (not good) he is a parasitic fungus that infects animals bodies killing them and taking over the corpse. His characters look normal though.

Do any of you have a “dark” aesthetic but are actually sweethearts? Thats thrasher and strade you can also toss in ren theyre all very violence oriented but just wanna cuddle. Well. Maybe not strade. Hed cuddle with your tortured body though if that counts!
