You stirred awake, opening your eyes to see the once filled spot on your bed now gone. "Ethan...?" Nothing. You got up and walked over to Elijah's crib, seeing your baby boy missing.

Your heart plummeted, feeling as if stabbed. You rushed out of your bedroom, the doorknob hitting the wall harshly and possibly leaving a dent.

Your footsteps echoed on the stairs, as you turned a sharp corner, only to see Ethan trying to cook pancakes while Elijah sat in his high chair. Ethan was attempting to flip the pancakes while wearing this white, stupid apron covered in pancake batter.

You backed up into the corner and peeked your head out, watching him silently with a smile on your face.

"This is gonna be a surprise for mommy, okay?" He looks at Elijah, the infant just raising his hands back and forth. "Its gonna be a gift to mommy from her baby boys," Elijah shakes his head and hits his chest. "No, why not?" Elijah hits his chest one more time.

"Oh, ohh...you're her baby boy?" Elijah claps his hands. "We have to share her, Elijah!" Elijah sticks out his tongue and blows raspberries at Ethan.

"Damn, you are one mean kid," Elijah shrugs and hits his tray. "Alright, alright! Foods on the way!" Ethan playfully hushes. Ethan sets a small plate of pancakes and french toast sticks on Elijah's tray.

"Time to go get mommy," you snickered, as Ethan approached the corner you were hiding in. "Boo!" You popped out and Ethan yelped. "Shit! " You held your stomach and burst into laughter.

"Ho how long were you standing there...?" You took a deep breath. "Since you tried to flip those pancakes while looking stupid!" He huffed, a grin appearing on his face.

He slipped his arms around your waist, and kissed the crown of your head. "Hi, mommy..." He whispered. "Hi, baby boy..." You gave him a peck on the nose, and he frowned, wanting one on the lips.

Elijah weakly hit his plate and gestures his hand to you. "Uh, oh. Someones fussy," you wiggle out of Ethans grasp and make your way towards your oh, so adorable, son.

"Hi, cutie..." You blew into Elijah's hair and kissed the top of his head. Ethan sat beside you and hugged you from behind, his arms once on your waist again. "Happy birthday, [Name]..." He kissed your neck while nuzzling into it. "Happy birthday to you too...wait, no, happy birthday to mee...!" You lazily sing out and Ethan chuckles in response

You reach your plate, trying to grab the utensils until Ethan slaps your hand away. "Nuh, uh. Im feeding you. You are gonna have the most relaxing day every," you rolled your eyes and opened your mouth while Ethan fed you some of the fruits stuck on the pancakes.

You fed Elijah while Ethan fed you, laughing when the fork would hit your cheek because you turned around to feed Elijah.

You laid into Ethans chest after finishing your portion of the breakfast. "This is turning out to be the best day..." Ethan hummed.

Your phone, that you placed on the table earlier, buzzed. You picked it seeing Taras contact pop up.

Tara: Happy birthdayyy!!! You ready to spend the best day with your bestfriends?? Ig Gale says happy birthday too You: Poor Gale Tara: Fuck her You: When are we going again?? Tara: Later on, its a surprise You: I have a love and hate relationship with surprises Tara: IK LOL

You kissed Ethan on the cheek before getting up and running upstairs. "Tara, Chad, Mindy and everyone else want to hang out so Im gonna get ready!" You heard a faint 'okay!' from Ethan

Quite a few minutes passed after you got ready. You ran downstairs while Ethan played with Elijah.

You smiled at them and Ethan noticed your presence. He whistled at your outfit. "You look amazing..." You ruffled Ethans hair and he leaned into your touch.

There were quick and fast knocks on your door. Ethan looked at you and glanced at the door. You shrugged and mouthed 'go hide...' He nodded before running upstairs, hiding in the supply closet.

You opened the door to see Tara, Sam and Mindy with boxes. "Happy birthday!" Tara handed you the colored box. "Wha...I thought you guys were coming later?" Mindy smiled. "We have decided to surprise you because its your birthday and we're going to make a lot out of this day," Sam gave Mindy a thumbs up.

"So how is it going?" Sam sat next to Elijah and picked him up out of his small chair. "G good, its good. Wheres Chad?" Tara waved her hand in a dismissive way. "He'll be at the party," you sat down with Tara and Sam.

"Your bathroom is upstairs, right?" You nodded and Mindy thanked you before heading upstairs.

Mindy felt shivers in the empty hallway. She found your bath and scanned the room. "No toilet paper, okay..." She was just going to go back to you before she remembered that you had a supply closet...

"I'll just go get toilet paper there," she pursed her lips and walked further down the hallway.

Ethan felt his heart drop. He heard Sams, Tara's and Mindy's voice. He also heard approaching footsteps, just great. The doorknob shook before the door flung open, revealing Mindy.

She eyed him up and down before processing what was in your supply closet. She screamed, and he screamed back. She slammed the closet door, before running back to you, Sam, and Tara was.

"What the fuck was that?" Tara got up, and so did Sam. Mindy rushed downstairs. "Ethans in your closet!" You grimaced, as Tara, and Sam snapped their necks to turn in your direction.

"What?!" Tara and Sam shout in unison. "Wait, Mindy! Let me explai oh..." Ethan waltzes into the living room, and Mindy stumbles backwards. You mentally facepalmed.

"What the fuck?!" All three of them were in unison today. "No swearing in front of my child!" You pointed to Elijah. "Y yea, no swearing in front of our child, guys!" Ethan mimicked while panting.

The trio, Sam, Mindy, and Tara just stared at you dumbfounded. Mindy ran to the kitchen coming back with your biggest knife. "Get away from us!" Ethan put his hands up. "Woah, woah, woah!" Sam stood in front of you, Tara, and Elijah.

"You're here to kill us all...A mother and her son being killed by the father on the mothers birthday...What kind of sick fuck are you?!" Ethan shook his head. "Me and [Name] made up! I never meant to hurt her."

The three faced me. "Is this true?" Mindy whispered. "Yes..." You sighed. "He tried to kill us! And could've killed Elijah!" You shook your head.

"I barely did any of the killing it was Quinn and my dad, and at the end i helped you and Sam, Tara! I promised to get better and never hurt you or anyone else again!" Mindy shoves the knife in his way.

Tara glanced at Sam and Mindy who looked at them. "wait, he helped you two?" Tara rolled her eyes. "After Quinn-bitch hurt [Name], Ethan helped up, i hit Quinn with a brick and he picked up another brick and hit hurt. He also stabbed her in the stomach..."

"Se see!" Mindy lowered her knife. "Im not a threat, I promise!" Elijah clapped his hands. "Even Elijah agrees!" Ethan pointed to Elijah. "Dont you fucking dare..." Tara points at Ethan. "Plus, I said if he pulls any shit like that again. I'll instantly report him to the police and he wont be able to see me or Elijah..."

Ethan lowered his head. "What if he tries to kill you?" Sam whispered to you. "Ill kill him before he can kill me..." You balled up your fist. Deep down you didn't mean it, you loved him, you couldn't.

Mindy drops the knife. "Fine! but i swear to god if you try anything on any of us =, you'll be dead before reported to the police..." Mindy spat. Ethan flinched back.

"Oh, and we're staying here until we take Elijah and [Name] to the party," Ethan rubs his neck "O okay..."

"Well, we definitely made a lot out of this day..." Tara sneers.

today was a very hard day. you don’t know how your mind got to this point. the mirror was provoking you. you were feeling a little bit bad about yourself lately. you lost your appetite.

your boyfriend, seokmin had invited you to his house for lunch. he had been cooking incredibly dishes for you. you agreed of course because you miss him a lot. you drove over to your boyfriends house with a little bit of fear.

you knew seokmin could read you perfectly. he knew when you felt even a little bit off. you arrived shortly with a sigh. you knocked on the door trying to shake your negative thoughts away. he opens the door with a big smile.

“hi angel.” he pulls you in quickly.

“you got here at the perfect time! i just finished cooking our delicious lunch.” he pulls you into a hug as you look over to see the food already plated. your heart drops a little but you just figured you can say you’re not hungry or something.

“oh! seok i’m not really feeling hungry but maybe i’ll eat later.” you smile at him softly as he looks at you for a second before nodding.

“oh alright- i thought when i texted you earlier you said you haven’t eaten today?” you don’t look him in the eyes fully as you shrug. he just chuckles before grabbing both of your plates.

“you’re not skipping meals right love? eat something.” his voice is soft as he sits you down next to him.

“minnie- i’m really not hungry it’s okay.” he shakes his head quickly.

“what’s wrong angel? you always eat lunch when i cook it for us.” his hand is on your side gently. his full attention is on you. you thought that you could at least get 10 minutes without him catching you feeling not the best today.

“nothing is wrong seok- i just really don’t want to eat anything right now.” he sighs at you but nods his head.

“okay- but you know you can talk to me. i won’t judge you at all. you can tell me what’s wrong.” you feel like you could cry. his voice is so comforting but it makes you really sad to hear.

you don’t want him to worry about you but you know he will no matter what. you know he doesn’t have a reason to judge you or your appearance. he always makes sure its known that he thinks you’re very beautiful.

“well- minnie i just haven’t been feeling the best about myself lately. i’m having a hard time not thinking about weight every time i eat. i just have really low self esteem.” he listens to you closely as you open up to him.

he feels happy that you feel comfortable enough to talk to him about your true, very real feelings that anyone can feel. he loves how vulnerable you are with him.

“i don’t know how much words can help you feel better but you are so beautiful. it wouldn’t matter how much you ate or how much you didn’t eat you are an amazing person. you are not your appearance at all. even though your appearance is absolutely perfect to me. you are the best person on the inside. you’re beautiful no matter what to me. i really wish you could see yourself how i see you. i know how it feels not have a hard time with food and i just want to say that you are doing perfect the way you are. you don’t have to change those habits at all to be beautiful. im not trying to say you shouldn’t feel this way im just telling you how i see you and don’t feel like you have to always be okay with yourself because i’m not always okay with myself either. just know that i’m always here for you and i will continue to be here every time you feel like this. i will always be here to tell you how perfect you are.”

you literally couldn’t hold the tears in anymore. you were sobbing in front of him. he was quick to wrap his arms around you. he hug was so comforting you didn’t ever want him to let go.

“don’t cry my love. i mean it you are completely valid for how you feel.” he can’t let you catch a moment to stop your tears. you were so thankful for him. he always knew the perfect thing to say to help you feel better.

“can w-we eat seok?” you say in between sobs as you pull away to look at him. he kisses your head with a nod.

“of course angel. i love you okay?” he rubs your cheek as he hands you your utensils.

“i love you more minnie.” you wipe your tears as you focus on the food. you already feel better about eating just with his presence. you truly wouldn’t know what you’d do without seokmin. he is truly everything you had wished for.

“i’m proud of you for telling me. no pressure on finishing your food. each as much as you’re comfortable with.” god you just want to marry him. is that insane? maybe a little bit insane. you pull him into a kiss. you kissed him for longer than he expected.

okay if i were to describe hyunjin to someone who doesn't know him I'd say he's brave. I've always believed that it takes immense courage to feel in a world that vilifies you for it. real strength is when you keep on feeling, loving, trusting, even after being hurt, because those are the emotions that make us humans at the end of the day, and to open your heart again, to not give up on seeing the good qualities in people even after being disappointed takes a lot of strength.

it's so easy to hate, to close your heart off because there is nothing to lose in hate, or indifference, you know? but there is so much to lose in love.. sometimes you leave parts of yourself in other's people's lives that you won't be able to recover, since loving someone, whether romantically or platonically, is to blindly hand your soul to them, not knowing if they'll treat it with care or toy with it.

but for hyunjin the risk is worth it. hyunjin saying that he trusts easily, gets hurts easily, but repeats again because isn't that what life is about. hyunjin saying that he always tries to look for warmth in people even after being hurt. hyunjin saying that he doesn't love someone hoping for a good outcome, he doesn't love someone because he knows he won't be hurt but because they're lovable. hyunjin who's still so open about love, who still regards it in a pure manner, who thinks it is the very center of our world, who views the feeling under a good light despite being disappointed. all of these things take so much courage.. that's why i said he's brave

but also since we're on the same topic, and u said essays are allowed AKDJDJ i'd say he's the embodiment of hope, the way he views our world, the way he talks, the way he reassures stays. he feels like sunlight spilling between tree leaves, not fully there to brighten the forest, but enough to infuse you with hope to keep going, to keep seeking the way out of darkness. "there will be an end to the sadness too even if you don't end it" (this one stuck with me because someday you wake up and you haven't really done anything new but suddenly breathing feels easier and you swear you're okay again) "you have to find happiness in your daily life, because if you look for it in ideals then it will become an untainable illusion" like his words aren't like u will be happy always!!!!!! or you will quit being sad this instant!!!!! but more of, happiness will sneak up on you when you least expect it, you just have to meet it in the middle. and i find that very comforting, and hopeful.
