3-Year Anniversary of the Stars Align Fan Tribute Video!
Tumblr media
Time flies! It seems like yesterday that the TBS animation Youtube channel dropped a Hoshiai no Sora video that had us fans REELING!
There was a LOT of miscommunication when it first appeared, due to it being called "fan movie" - fans misinterpreted this as a movie teaser trailer. But in actuality, it was a thank-you video to fans for supporting the series with a promise that there is still more to the Stars Align story (even if the future of that story is unclear).
The 2-year time skip was definitely a surprise, but one that makes craving the second half all the more enticing! If you have not had a chance to watch you can find the video here.
While the original video was never officially translated, fans put together rough translations of our own.
-------
Rough translation:
2 years later…their lives go on.
Maki: Let’s leave it be. He probably doesn’t want to see me.
Toma: It’s pointless. He has no game sense. Why does he constantly make the same mistakes? There’s no point in continuing to play like this. Whatever. I’ll find someone else.
------
What are your thoughts on the video? Whether this is your first time watching it or your 100th rewatch, I'd love to chat about theories!
Keeping the conversations going will help us continue to raise awareness for this series and get us one step closer to some form of continuation. #MakeTheStarsAlign

Maki Katsuragi: The Autism Theory
Maki Katsuragi could be on the autism spectrum. Here’s why! TW: Abuse mentions/references, mental disorders/disabilities in-depth, child abuse, psychological aspects, and childhood conditioning.
Tumblr media
I think the common conception of mentally ill/disabled people not being confident in nature or never being able to fit into a setting isn’t entirely accurate for everyone or a good way to sum up such a wide variety of people.
Let’s go into maki’s personality. His most noticeable quality: he’s confident. He’s confident enough to shape the environment he enters if he wishes. He’s confident enough to make people bend or even change their entire perspective on things.
Did you notice everyone had false misconceptions about him? Everyone was surprised when he said certain things, like they weren’t expected of someone “with his personality”. For example, what he told Itsuki after he hit the boy with the racket, what he said when Tsubasa held the racket, what he told Yuu after confronting them, what he said to Touma after the matches, etc.  There are so many examples of people misconstruing Maki. People thinking he’s not as smart or as considerate as he actually is.
Why? I think it’s because he comes off a certain way. He seems too confident; too formal; too anti-social; too whatever. Everyone has misconceptions of everyone else, but these are things I heavily related to: the ways everyone saw Maki.
To add personal experiences-- in the environment I was raised in, I had to be confident. I had to learn how to confront opposition with a calm war face. I had to learn how to speak; how to stand; how to stare into people’s eyes despite being uncomfortable with it; how to seem like I did things with little thought to them, despite the fact that I overthought constantly. This made many people think I was an airhead, or just generally not as smart as others.  I’ve had many people be really surprised that I was insecure, that I had issues, that I was smart & analytical. it’s happened to most people I met. These same misconceptions are bred when people see Maki, just because he’s confident and makes talking/moving/doing anything look easy. While we can see he’s smart as the audience, the other characters cannot, and this is important to remember.
Living while mentally disabled in a situation where you have an assigned job (like mediator & provider, which are Maki’s jobs) and huge responsibilities (both household chores/jobs and/or emotional support, which are also Maki’s jobs) is different from living while ill in a situation where your responsibilities are limited (like Touma’s).  There are many reasons why Touma’s issues seem more relatable and noticeable to the audience than Maki’s, and it has to do with the familial and outside dynamics they experienced throughout their life, as well as personality and disorder conflicts.
By personality and disorder conflicts, I mean that Maki and Touma have a lot of differences, both in upbringing, personality, and in the disorders I believe they have. Maki contrasts from Touma’s Autistic relatability most likely because he seems to have both ADHD and Autism, in my opinion. It’s a combination that can leave you a lot more jumbled and harder to relate to than just having Autism or ADHD alone, like I headcanon that Touma only has Autism.
Circling back to Maki’s personality. He seems to have a case of Chronic Chillness, outside of his obvious impatience issue, which I think is an indicator of his trueness as a person. In that respect, I mean that his impatience may be an indicator that he’s not as nonchalant as he seems. This is a huge part of my own mentally ill experience, so I felt the need to mention it.  It doesn’t mean I never look anxious or that I’m never anxious; It’s that no one sees it or suspects it. Sometimes I even convince myself. I have lax shoulders, I make lazed movements, I speak confidently & a lot of the time with slang or curses. Maki exhibits these qualities as well, aside from the cursing. However, I become starchly formal with people I don’t plan on befriending or becoming close with - esp in a professional setting (I.E. how Maki acted with the teacher and meeting the team, as I’ve concluded his original belief was that he wouldn’t attempt to attach himself to the team emotionally at first) - and I add formality to most newer people unless it’s a casual setting and I want them to feel comfortable/welcome.
I create environments where either respect is expected or people feel obligated to bend in their hatred, whether it be out of insecurity, fear, or genuine appreciation. Maki does speak confidently and calmly, and he does all that I listed, in my opinion.  Let’s talk about the symptoms and symptom portrayals.  ♡ First up on the list: Intensive focusing/ Hyperfocusing/Interest in specific topics alone, with a habit of losing interest or not showing interest in other things. This is one of the most talked-about symptoms in processing and learning disorders from my experience.  One could say Maki is the definition of this symptom. He shows little interest in school, clubs, or any other subject besides astronomy. Specifically, as of most episodes, his book given to him by Ryouma, which he seems to continuously read despite it being a small book. We can assume he may be reading it over and over again.  The only club he now focuses on is soft tennis. That began from a place of obligation, not genuine interest. He seemed to have felt morally obligated to join after receiving a promise to money and a racket. However, we can assume he’s more emotionally invested in this team now, after rekindling his friendship with Touma and meeting the club members.  His focus on the club is obvious. He allows it to be a part of his daily life, and seems to even spend his off-time putting together schedules for their play, as seen in the episode where Rintarou and Touma speak privately. He also speaks of soft tennis during breaks within the school or dinner at his own apartment, as seen in the episodes where Yuu, Kanako, and Touma visit.  ♡ Moving on to the second symptom. Tics, like repeated motions, phrases, or movements. These movements or phrases can vary in frequency and noticeability. It can be shown subtly or as a common and known action that this person does every day. Maki Katsuragi seems to have a catchphrase - saying “I see.” or “naru-ho-do”, but since this isn’t your typical anime and the characters are portrayed as a lot more realistic than troupes, we can assume this could be a sign of a tic. He also tends to make strange movements while thinking, which is a sign that he’s trying to process what he’s about to say or what he’s thinking of.  This scene, in particular, stood out to me. While thinking, Maki idly swung his hand in circles. This is something I do personally as well. I tend to circle my hands while thinking to either enunciate my words or figure out a way to explain what I’m about to say, as well as try to process things I’ve heard.
Tumblr media
♡ On to the third symptom, which is - in my opinion - a very important one. Trouble showing or expressing certain emotions well or clearly. This can range from ways of speech, to expressions, to body language, and so forth. This can be both subtle or severe, depending on the case. Maki seems to be the type that wears smiles on his sleeve in good situations, but... let me ask you a question. Did anyone see the ending coming? I can’t say that I did, but I can tell you that I don’t think it’s unrealistic for it to happen. What I noticed about Maki is that he’s not the best at showcasing emotions outside the scope of positive or neutral, which is a huge indicator of many things. Two of them are some of the main issues in his life. Physical and mental abuse (from his father), and an overly cheerful and somewhat neglectful parental figure whose nature most likely makes him feel obligated to keep up a facade and not vent his frustrations (like his mother). In truth, many of the scenes where Maki was happy in recent episodes could’ve been motivators for him to pick up the knife. The looming threat of his father never went away, and when you’re in a happy situation, while there’s a threat still lurking, it can leave you to wonder when all these good things will be taken away. His mother possibly being hurt or even kidnapped are huge solidifiers for his resolve. I’ll be addressing this motivation-driven argument further in another post. Moving on now! Maki shows very few expressions. One of his most common being a blank face that looks a touch angry. It doesn’t mean he is angry; I think the intention behind his facial expressions is that he has trouble showing a relaxed neutral expression as well as having what many would call a “resting bitch face”. Most of his expressions range from constant neutral, curious, scared, happy, or the occasional mad. His voice tone is also key here. He often speaks around the same keys. His voice is quiet and calm, with the occasional hint of playfulness. However, it rarely rises or falls drastically, unless in a serious situation. Even then, Maki still doesn’t sound very different from his usual tone.  He also moves very directly and with purpose. It’s rare for him to show hesitation or anxiety, which may be a product of Autism, ADHD, and/or living with his father, where any sign of fear, sadness, or anger could cost him. ♡  Here’s a fourth symptom. Not remembering information, especially information not regarding hyperfixations or general interests. This is common in many illnesses but is hugely prevalent in both Autism and ADHD.  This is shown especially in the scene where he meets Kanako Mitsue for the second time canonly. He didn’t even remember her face, name, or room despite just meeting her yesterday. This is a huge indicator of a memory problem regarding information his brain considers “not important”, as he seems to remember most things about his interests and chores clearly.
Tumblr media
This is getting increasingly long, so I think I may be ending it here! This is a subject I could go on and on for, but I think I made some good and valid points here! It took me a long time to finish this, as my motivation is lacking.  Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

I talked about this the HnS server yesterday but I felt like this is one interesting theory that i can share here!!
You guys know how the Moon and Venus keeps popping up ALL the time in HnS?
Tumblr media
Right after this shot of Maki framing the moon, a seagull flies. Seagulls are also EXTREMELY important in the series. They appear in almost ALL the episodes.
Tumblr media
But then, the seagull flies down
Tumblr media
And then we see a shit if Maki looking at what's infront of him
Tumblr media
And the camera pans down to Touma.
Tumblr media
I recommend watching this scene again to understand it a but more without just screenshots lol
Soooo
Touma = Seagulls.
But then who's the Moon.
Well, remember earlier in the episode Maki receives a Astronomical Almanac as a gift from Ryouma? Look at the cover of the Almanac.
Tumblr media
So theory that either Ryouma might be the moon and Maki might be the venus which would kind explain some of the backstories. Before I do more with that, I need to state some observations I noticed in the first episode and combined with the rest if the series.
-Maki and Ryouma seem to be a lot closer than Maki and Touma are. Touma took a while to even fully comprehend who Maki IS being all "Maki..." Then you could see his eyes literallly grow in realization whereas Ryouma already knew Maki was in town AND had a specific Almanac for him considering Maki already KNOWS what Astronomical Almanacs are meaning he's read them before so must have wanted a specific one and maki says oh it's the Astronomical Almanac. Also they refer to each other with their first names (Maki calls Ryouma as Ryouma from the start and Ryouma calls him Maki without any honorifics. In Japanese culture, considering their age gap, this is a blatant sign that they're close enough to drop honorifics altogether. even though he calls even Touma as Shinjo at first and Touma called him Katsuragi at first. Nai thinks it might be because they felt awkward at first and didn't know where they stand with each other so that could have been it)
-Even though we KNOW that Maki and Touma are pretty close from the past, they never actually CONFIRM they were friends?? When You asks Touma if Maki is a old friend of his, he smiles but doesn't affirm or deny it. Maki seemed ti get really irritated with Touma when he saw him waiting for Maki the second day which, from Maki, is really cold towards a former Friend??
-Maki seemed to be annoyed with the whole prospect of Touma throwing money around at first and when Touma mentions his brother, Maki fulls STOPS. At first, Touma had to hold down Maki by his wrist to make him listen and cut his way to make him stay. When Maki agrees and makes that,,,let's be honest,,,kinda ridiculous demand, it feels more like a "you're not serious about this do DROP it" kinda thing to me? When Touma hesitates Maki even says in the dub "that's what I thought"
Basically, my theory here is that their backstories run a LOT deeper than we know or have seen yet. It's a lot of stuff to unpack in like two episodes but from what I can tell, the symbolism considering that Maki and Ryouma and seemed closer in the start and then Touma arrives to make Maki join the club and offer to play soft tennis to him.
Put that together with Ryouma being the moon and Touma being the seagull that suddenly flies in and that makes Maki the venus.
Sooo
Moon = Ryouma
Seagull = Touma
Venus = Maki
Considering all of them represent SOMETHING in the sky, my guess is that the stars represents all the other members and the sky represents soft tennis. They're all bound together in the same room place by soft tennis or love for soft tennis.

So, about Rintaro’s mother:
She looks similar to Touma’s mother from the back.
....She’d better not be Rintaro’s mother or else I’ll lose it.
She doesn’t deserve kids. Period.

Hoshiai no Sora Fan Movie Breakdown/Theory/I don’t know
Yeah I went mad so imma do theories now I guess. rip homework and fic.
spoilers for the fan movie, which is like 3 minutes and on youtube so just head over there, theres a link up here somewhere.
So first off, where’d the student council go?
Tumblr media
Prez dances alone despite usually having some people watching and clapping behind her. They’re just gone!
Most of the first half is reused footage, so theres not much Ill break down, at least for now.
Once the outro is done, we cut to the final moments of Hoshiai Episode 12, as if we haven't had that scene burned into our brains.
Once that ends, we cut to this little card:
Tumblr media
Which I think means two years later (according to this post which is honestly a way better post than mine, go read it.)
and then this card which according to google translate says ‘living that time’ I dont think thats right.
Tumblr media
Let’s note we’ve returned to black on white background, and not the coloured on black of the title card at the end.
One of the best OST’s in the show plays (imo) and we get a little montage.
Tumblr media
Rintarou and Taiyou go to the same school, good for them! They’re trying to get members for a soft tennis team (probably) but everyone around them is uninterested. They have more colour then anyone else in the shot, and are given more detail. part of that is because no one does background characters, but I think theres some symbolism there with them having their own little world of soft tennis, especially since Rintarou and Taiyou are known as the more energetic and friendly (or colourful!) members of the team. There’s also a baseball team walking in the background which I find interesting.
Tumblr media
Tsubasa is angry and still playing tennis. If we follow his line of sight we find he’s glaring at (or at least guiding us to) the people in the back longing around and not playing. I can think of two reasons why he’s upset. One: because of everything that happened season one, he takes the game seriously and dislikes people slaking off. or two because it reminds him of his old team. I think one is more likely than two though. yet again anyone who isnt a main character isnt coloured in.
Tumblr media
Shingou????? Is now at a strict school I guess?? The thing that stands out here isnt really him being at this school, (his parents could totally send him off) but he looks happy. Proud even. Not only is that contrary to the Shingou we know, but look around him. The background characters dont have eyes but they sure do have frowns. they’re also really gray, unlike Shingou.
Tumblr media
iTSUKI GOT TALLER?? Lets note some things! The background characters have gone from being tinted a bit grey to entirely monochrome. The other characters have backpacks like Itsuki (idk the name but they hold tennis rackets) by beyond that, Itsuki doesn’t fit into the scene at all. Beyond just the colour, he’s not looking at the other boys, and it doesn't seem much like the other boys are looking at him. you could crop him out of the scene and the boys would look perfectly normal. The boys are also all wearing ties where Itsuki has a hoodie, giving him another way to stand out.
Now where everyone else had a still that zoomed in, we turn to my son, Nao.
He gets 5 shots, two of which are animated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note that when we see Nao’s hand all bandaged, the music takes a bit of a dip, making a static noise a bit like what we hear in some Nao scenes, or like a ghost.
Tumblr media
So: Nao doesn’t play tennis anymore, clearly he either misses it or something, but in whatever case he thinks about it, and watches the others play. More than just play, he watches them celebrate.
Now look at the other boys who approach Nao. We get a bad vibe on instinct. I could be wrong, but it looks like the boy on the far right is the same boy who watched as another bully talked to Itsuki and then got bashed for it. Mainly just due to hair and him wearing a mask around his chin, which we haven't seen a single other character do. Actually, I dont think we’ve ever seen a Hoshiai character wear a mask, so it stands out.
Now, Nao’s knuckles are bandaged, which suggests he punched someone or something. I cannot picture him doing this. WE can see the bandages aren’t even, so he probably placed them himself, who whoever did it, did with little care.
Nao says: something. I can’t read lips or speak Japanese, but im not sure what Nao says is even readable. It has no audio, but the spooky noises continue. Music is now gone.
Cut to black.
Tumblr media
Bird noises! Maki is watching their old sitting spot from afar, suggesting reminiscence.
Tumblr media
Maki says something! I don’t know what, According to the other post, translated here on twitter, he says:
"Let's leave it be. He probably just doesn't want to see me again"
So that’s likely refering to Touma, or possibly his father but I doubt that highly.
Note: Everyone keeps their distance from Maki, Arashi still has his tennis bag, Mitsue has a very nice uniform and Yuu has a new bag I think, which is pink. Very cute.
Yuu is the only one we don’t see in any uniform (itsuki didnt have the tie but he had a jacket) so we don't know what school they go to, of what uniform they wear. Yuu and Mitsue stand close together, so we ca assume that friendship lives on.
I won't do shots of all of Touma’s dialogue but here's some:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course the most important shot,
Tumblr media
Now: Touma is saying in this scene, thanks again to twitter, translator’s tweet is here go leave a like,
"It's pointless. He has no game sense. Why does he make the same mistakes? There's no point in continuing like this. Whatever. I'll find someone else"
So like the beginning, Touma is fed up with fellow soft tennis players.
Maki and Touma meet on a street corner and Touma frowns. Maki remains neutral.
long shot as they stare at each other and a train goes by.
credits roll.
So time for my final thoughts and theories and things I want to mention.
Maki hurt Touma with the knife. I know, its bad I dont wanna think it, but like,,, Occam’s Razor.
Whatever happened with maki’s dad, he didn’t get kicked out of school, he didn’t die, and he doesn't gotten any life long injuries
No one’s parents are ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRE PV. for a show so dedicated on these kids relationships with their parents, that is striking. We don’t even see family members.
No teachers are seen either.
Aside from the beginning we don’t see student prez at all.
Why does Nao get extra screen time? like do not get me wrong I love him but everyone else only got one shot.
Background characters are near always painted in greys wand without eyes, except for whoever Touma was yelling at and the others in that scene. they still don't have eyes though, which is probably just because they’re background characters.
Most characters are alone, except for Rintarou and Taiyou, and the gang during Maki’s line.
Things aren’t looking good.
SO those are my thoughts/theories, hope you liked them, I'm gonna go cry over my son becoming a delinquent, good night!

What if Nao is...
A lot happened in ep 9 and we saw more of Nao's family life. His Father doesn't care. His Mom and Dad don't have a relationship dynamic. They don't talk at the dining table. Basically their family bond consists of sharing DNA and sharing a house together. Since ep 8 Nao doesn't eat anymore. He is lacking in any interests. He is zoned out all.the.time. His mom is pressuring him to the max and it already made him have a meltdown. So I've been paying more attention to Nao.
What if Nao is suicidal... What if the next episodes are about him trying to hurt himself? I am about to tear up just thinking about its possibility.
It's going to be hard to tackle such a major topic in just 3 eps and I am not so sure if my theory is right (I don't want to be anyways) but Japan has always struggled with a high suicide rate which includes a lot of students taking their lives due to pressure, stress and depression. Hoshiai no sora has tackled topics no anime ever dared to discuss. If they take that route it will be very very frightening and hard to put up with.
Idk that is what I've been observing and it scares me.

I'm really concerned about what's gonna happen in the next few Hoshiai No Sora episodes. Why?
1. The parents are still out there and could do something to any of the characters at any moment. (I'm thinking either Kenji or Yuu's mum?)
2. We still don't have any info on Taiyo's family - are they saving the worse until last?
3. We haven't gone back to explore Toma's family too much. We don't have a confirmed reason why his mum doesn't like him. Unless I've missed something? (I'm inclined to believe the theories about him having anger issues.)
4. NAO IS UNSTABLE AND I'M CONCERNED HE'S GONNA DO SOMETHING-
5. What's Tsubasa gonna do now? He obviously can't hide his arm from the team. I'm hoping the team just hugs him and supports him because please love this child-
6. When Maki was talking to Yuu, he said something like "We have plenty of time" and knowing HNS, something's gonna happen.
7. We have three episodes left and nO ONE IS OKAY!!

Hoshiai no Sora - Episode 5
This is exactly the reason why my math teacher never said anything to me when she noticed I was doodling during class. She knew I can count everything and that I just probably finished it long ago, so she never tried to call me out. She also though probably figured out I hated going to the blackboard and preferred to do the stuff alone in my notebook instead of before everybody else.
I was never good at math theory, so I do not know the names of all this mathematic stuff (What the hell is parenthesis?), but I was always good at counting (I mean, after the initial problems as very small child when I had to learn the basics (multiplication) and had such great problems with counting that my mother and grandmother had to help me learn it. From that time I never needed their help again, because I learned how to notice patterns in the equations and learned to memorize every exception to my made up schemes).
Ah, this anime has a lot of interesting stuff in it! I didn’t expect to see myself!

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Hoshiai no Sora ed.
Produced by Dick Wolf, featuring an analysis by me
(or, I'm coping with the pain of the Hoshiai no Sora finale by going ace attorney on this shit)
dark humor aside, I do have a lot of questions about the ending scene that were left unanswered, as I'm sure we all do (fuck the executives who decided to cut the season down to 12 eps instead of 24).
1) What happened to Maki's mom? She doesn't seem to be in their or Kenji's apartment. She's most likely not dead, because when Maki was pulling the knife out he says "as long as he's alive, we'll never be free". There's also no signs of violence inside the apartment besides the broken glass that you'd expect from a murder scene (overturned furniture, bloodstains, etc). The very small amount of evidence we have suggests she's probably at a hospital or with the police.
2) When did Shou arrive at the apartment? There are 3 options here: before the attack/confrontation, during, and after. His shoes were lined up neatly at the door, so we can probably rule out the possibility of him walking in while Kenji was confronting Aya. If he was already at the apartment, there probably would have been more signs of a struggle, since instead of Kenji easily overpowering Aya he would have had to fight with both of them. So it's likely that he came after the attack, which raises the question of whether Aya was already gone. If she was no longer in the apartment, surely he would have called the police and they would be investigating the building. He also wouldn't have been able to tell Maki what happened to her. I did consider whether he'd have a key to the apartment, but if he got there after Kenji entered the door would probably be unlocked anyway. If she was still in the apartment after the attack, wouldn't Shou have taken her to the hospital and/or called the police? It's possible he called for an ambulance (we do hear sirens in the background as Maki's going to buy the knife) and waited in the apartment for Maki to come home. The issue that I have with this is the obvious lack of police. Which brings me to:
3) Why aren't the police involved? If Shou or Aya had called them, they should have already been investigating the apartment, waiting to tell Maki what happened, and going after Kenji. Even if they had been called, there's no way Maki, who stopped to buy a knife and was walking like he hadn't slept in three days, would have gotten there before they did. So it's a pretty safe assumption that the police just aren't involved. Which begs the question, why?? Why didn't Shou or Maki call them? Obviously the law has failed them before regarding the abuse and theft, but this was clearly a much more serious and immediate threat.
4) Why did Shou just let Maki walk out of the apartment? He's a child who's just found out his deadbeat dad broke into their apartment and hurt his mom. If nothing else- taking him to the police station, taking him to the hospital to see his mom, bringing him to his own apartment, etc- he should have at least stayed with him. I'm not saying Shou's a bad person, and he was obviously also very shaken, but still I have no idea how he could just let Maki walk out of the apartment without even asking where he was going or making sure he would be safe (or not, ya know, going to murder his dad).
5) Why did Kenji finally lash out against Aya? The envelope was opened, so obviously he took the money. What caused the situation to escalate? It doesn't seem like she was trying to cut him off, since she had an envelope ready for him. It's possible it was just because she was home when he showed up, but he seems to know her work schedule and only come when she's not home. So what changed?
6) What's the significance of the glass of water? It was the only thing in the apartment that was visibly disturbed iirc. The animators are not lazy enough to put such a metaphorical spotlight on something with no other meaning than to show us something bad happened. I thought it might be a vague reference to the OP (suisou=fishtank), but that's pretty obscure, so I'm guessing not.
If anyone has any other questions that are bugging them, or have any evidence or theories to add, please share!

Ren’s Stars Align Ryoma Shinjo Masterpost
Tumblr media
Hello! I’m Ren, a huge Hoshiai no Sora/Stars Align fan, so I thought I’d collect all my meta posts focused on my personal favorite character from the series, Ryoma!
Why Ryoma?
Ryoma is Toma’s older brother and a former alum of the Shijo Minami soft tennis club. He’s quite important to Toma and also to Maki, and seems to know more about what’s going on in the Shinjo family than Toma does. He’s definitely not focused a lot, but I think that talking about him could help understand Toma and Maki’s relationship and where the story is/was meant to go.
Also I love him.

Hoshiai no Sora Episode 11:
I'm not really too sure if i entirely like how they're handling nao's side of things concerning his issues. Last episode it was completely glossed over and this week, while he was momentarily affected, him deciding to ignore his mom's messages seemed a little too easy.
The scene with nao's mom, however, was completely terrifying. Now i'm gonna be a nervous wreck all week. Like holy heck.

Rintaro's birth mom was secretly watching!!!!!
Our boys won!!! Multiple matches!!!!

What was that with toma's mom and ryoma????? So what's his mom's deal??? Painful memories? Concerning toma or perhaps a certain other kid??? What gives?? Brothers?????? I mean, i've seen some theories floating around...
I really can't see how everything's gonna be wrapped up properly in one episode? We have nao's mom, maki's dad, the toma family secret...we never learned the aftermath of yu and yu's mom's last scene. Unless there's a season 2 announcement i can't help but worry about the last episode being way too rushed or not wrapping up stuff properly.
Lastly, tbh, I didn't care for this episode as much. The use of the theme song didn't feel well placed, nor did the maki/tennis club montage. Sorry.

i have so many thoughts and theories about hoshiai no sora but 99% of the time it feels like yelling into the empty void.
