Solidarity with quimchee and ILY; an email to webtoon
In a follow up to this post (please read it for the details and reblog it it, as well), over in the discord we decided that one of the ways we can help quimchee is to send an email to webtoon. One of our members, solidaritea, wrote up this template which you can use to send to this email: [email protected]
Feel free to make adjustments to this, to make it a little more personal, add any more thoughts you would like to reach them. We only ask that you keep this professional - we aren't in the place to harp on them for how the negative ways they impacted the readership by misrepresenting what ILY is as a story. We want to instead focus on the support of quimchee's artistic integrity, as we are not a fandom of children who cannot comprehend multi-part episodes as webtoon seems to think.
Please reblog this so that it can reach others, and if you are on ILY twitter, feel free to share this post over there!
Template:
To whom it may concern: I am a fastpasser on Webtoon, and am writing to you today as a concerned reader in regards to some subjective practices of your company, that are compromising my ability to enjoy your product as a fiscally contributing consumer. In good-faith: I am requesting that for the sake of capturing the integrity of story-telling, that you allow creators such as Quimchee just a modicum more of freedom in how she decides to share her work. Without any prompting from this author, and purely out of our own volition as fans of "I Love Yoo" and Webtoons as a whole, we decided to come together to express we are fully intellectually capable of handling a two part episode and have done so before. We are also enthusiastic and unbothered by the prospects of potentially needing to pay to unlock both parts. Infact, our fandom has tried offering occasional help to others who wish to fast pass specific important chapters such as the one that has been delayed for 2 weeks now, due to a seeming communication break down. We want to support your company, and the author we follow closely. But for the sake of solidarity, our group will be withholding fastpassing any of our current subscriptions - as well as pausing the purchase of any additional coins, until this issue is rectified in good faith. Us reaching out to contact you with this concern is our attempt to communicate as consumers there is something we would like to see kindly and professionally addressed. I deeply would appreciate a personal response.
A note: if possible, please send this from an email associated with your webtoon account (so they can see it's actually connected to something and not just fluff and fodder, if they bother to look).
Also: do not mention this on quimchee's patreon or twitter lol. I don't want webtoon to think she asked us to do this. This was by the people for the people.

I mean… in my mind I sort of think that the thing that makes Chihayafuru MOST interesting as a triad (because there are a lot) is the imbalance in love. Arata and Chihaya and Taichi DO love each other, but the reality is that Taichi just doesn’t love karuta as much as he loves the people playing it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is… it’s hard! When the two people he’s most connected to love karuta so much, more than anything in the world— it’s the thing that’s connected them through everything. And so wouldn’t it make it true that since Taichi doesn’t love Karuta like Chihaya and Arata do, that they wouldn’t (couldn’t) love him as much?
I don’t know how true that is. But I do think that Taichi exists in a grey space, and if he can’t own up to the reality of his love- which is intense, and sacrifices so much- then Chihaya and Arata can’t love him in the same way as they love each other

I loved how Marinette was conflicted about Adrien being Cat Noir and doubted her feelings for him because that proves that she fell for Adrien for who he is a person and not the idea of him. It was the best conflict! I love the Cat Blanc episode (still one of my favourite episodes) but I think the reveal in Ephemeral was more satisfying because it showed that even if you find out who they are, doesn't automatically mean you will still feel the same about the person and that you really have to confront your true feelings.

HOW COME IT'S 2021 AND MOST TEEN/YOUNG ADULTS TV SERIES ARE STILL MOSTLY WRITTEN/DIRECTED/PRODUCED BY WHITE 40+ YEAR OLD MEN?
Save by the bell reboot had it's cringe moments and that Selena Gomez comment was more than insolent but at least THEY DIDN'T DO THE LGBTQ CHARACTER DIRTY! DO YOU KNOW HOW? BY HAVING THE ACTRESS OF THE LGBTQ CHARACTER WHO IS TRANS IRL, JUST 19 YEAR OLD AND PALESTINIAN AND LEBANESE, AS A FREAKING PRODUCER ON THEIR TEENIE SHOW.
AND WHEN WILL YOU START CASTING PEOPLE CLOSER TO THE AGES THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO PORTRAY???! No offense to the actresses and actors who probably had their first bigger role with fate. But they are like 16/17 on the show but played by 25-27 year olds. Abigail's and Precious' ages are the closest but that's even marginal. Did none of you all watch skam? Did you all learn nothing from Julie Andem? I am not a teen anymore but still enjoy some shows targeted for teens like DRUCK the german skam remake and see myself a lot in those characters. But with fate I feel like they really failed to make yourself feel relatable to the characters. They just seemed so unnatural and superficial.
It's just laughable how white middle age men think they know it all. Seriously do they wake up and say let's make a teen tv show with 30+ year old white actors saying end game to everything, having sex 24/7, mentioning anything sexual whenever someone breaths, have just one poc character who is just a side character with no personality and story other than following around and being supportive of the white main lead who will act and be treated like they are Messiah and have one or two LGBTQ characters where one bullies the other but the victim is in love with them and then the bully also falls in love (those white men are probably so proud coming up with that lmao). So......my question is.....have they ever seen, heard of or talked to an actual teenager of this age?!
I am sorry for ranting about the fate series again but I forced myself to at least finish the 3rd episode and nothing changed. Still boring. And I need to include how deeply disappointed I am with their world building. Trust me I am not comparing fate to Winx anymore that hurts too much but the world in fate is just so...grey and vacuous. There is no explanation, no system, no logic to their magic. Especially the magic seemed so nonexistent and whenever someone used magic it felt like the director just remembered that they are supposed to be a fantasy show and they need to implement some bibbidi babbidi boo. They namedrop some winx planets like solaria but that's it. They don't explain how the realms and kingdoms(?) are connected and related to each other.
All of this made the series extra boring for me. If it was an original work I could have blamed that on the lack of time invested in to character design and world building but this is an adaption of a series that had a realistic fictional world (and evil minded enough villians) perfectly laid out for them and they ended up not using it to it's fullest potential.... Anyways I am going to rewatch bridgerton now.

Ok I watched 3 episodes of fate, actually scratch that I watched 2 full episodes and like 10 minutes of the 3rd one....I...I just couldn't anymore. It made me sleepy and bored. No joke my eyes were basically closed. I tried really really hard not to compare it to Winx but it turns out it's just plain boring on it's own. The characters are bland the dialogues so effortless and the plot just straight pointless. I didn't care for one single character. I mean Aisha had potential since she seemed like the only one with braincells but she had literally side character with no depth besides being supportive written on her forehead. Nothing new for a poc/woc portrayal. I just couldn't.
The white Musa literally has no facial expressions. at all. ever. nothing but a dead face. nothing. She smiled once and that was the most forced smile I have ever seen. I think from all the main girls she is the one I cared the least about. I am done mentioning her.
Bloom is so so so annoying. Warning unpopular opinion coming through: More annoying than in the cartoon. (I recently rewatched winx and my love for bloom died on those rewatching days. It will take too long to explain) I can't feel sad for her because her pity party seems so forced. I just can't. I mean I am sorry you have shitty earth parents i guess? Vanessa and Mike would have never treated you like that.
I can't get myself to like Terra. I simply don't care. I just don't. And I say this as a big girl who knows the struggle. The Ups and Downs but I just couldn't bond with Terra.
Watching Stella's new personality was just the saddest little thing. It was so stupid it made me laugh. Stella is a diva we know it and we loved it. But she was never a bitch. She is supposed to be the princess of light and the actual Stella was the definition of a sunshine but this Stella? This had to be a joke. The fucking love triangle is the biggest joke. Her crawling after a man? pahahaha Her crawling after SKY? HAHHAHAHAHHAHA. WHO THE FUCK CAME UP WITH THAT BULLSHIT.
Maybe it's because I can't get over them white-washing two of the main girls, KILLING TECNA, only having TWO. TWO!!!!!!!! people of color as a cast out of 10? 12? And I am not just saying this because of winx but it's weird to only see white people on a show that's apparently set in the 21st. century (they use insta). As a winx adaption fate the winx saga is just disrespectful and rude and should be sued and on it's own it's just boring with not relatable characters, stupid cliches that are outdated and an uninteresting plot. Maybe it gets better after ep 3 (I doubt that) but my disappointment is too big to continue this show. I've read that others quite enjoyed it as it's own so that's good I guess. Sorry for this long rant i had to but tbh I even had more to say but that would have turned into a whole book.
P.S.: Oh before I forget. Dear Netflix, pls do us all a favor and just never ever, and I can not stretch this enough, try a remake or a live action version of an animated show or film ever again. I still haven't forgiving you for what you've done to Death Note. Will you never learn?
Sincerely, a concerned human being who is done with this kind of bullshit.

Ok to the very very very few watching the fate winx saga. I am currently debating whether I should watch it or not. I rewatched Winx Club a month ago to properly judge fate but I saw some spoilers that made me already reach half on my rage scale. So tell me friends..... how bad is it?!

Ok I have a new obsession and yes I should be ashamed for not knowing it sooner but for the past week I've been obsessed with Webtoon. Especially with I love yoo by quimchee. I've spend 2 days reading it and I am enjoying it so much that I am reading it again until the next update.
But now to the point why I am making that post...this picture....
I think it was a patreon reward like 3 years ago so it is very old. Anyways I was creepin on the creators Insta account and looked at it for like 5 minutes and remembered reading many theories just because of that drawing. Until it hit me.... I think quimchee said something along the lines how the picture has hints which will be relevant for the story but also misleading hints. So I am pretty sure the handholding of Shin Ae and Kousuke is SPOILER the time Kousuke tried to comfort Shin Ae in the cafe by holding her hand. So that was true.
And I think the meaning of Shin Ae and Nol sharing an earphone has also been revealed in chapter 117 but I am just 70% sure with that one. Anyways looking at Nol he has his eyes closed and that makes me think what if quimchee is pulling a your lie in April on us? Or worst an I want to eat your pancreas?????
Idk if someone already made that theory before since this drawing is 3 years old lol but it just hit me. Since quimchee stated more than once that she hates clichès and that we might get an ending that's not 100% considered an happy ending....
Tumblr media
But I have many more theories up in my head that I want to share....
PLEASE IS THERE SOMEONE WHO WILL TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS AMAZING STORY
I WANNA SHARE THEORIES SO BAD AND COMPANY TIL THE NEXT CHAPTER UUUGH

Tumblr,
As you’re probably aware, the coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, has now been found in countries all over the globe. This is an understandably disconcerting moment for many, but there are steps we can all take to help mitigate the effect on our communities.
COVID-19 is spreading, but misinformation and disinformation are spreading even faster. The most responsible thing you can do is protect yourself from both the disease and false information. Being prepared with facts and data instead of assumptions and fabrications will help inform how you can best prepare for COVID-19.
Here are some resources you can trust:
WHO provides daily updates surrounding COVID-19’s spread, infection rate, and general influence on our society. Their latest update given on March 3, 2020, details that there is a shortage of personal protective equipment for healthcare professionals. They also provide a very handy FAQ section, where you can learn more about how to protect yourself and your community.
Every day Worldometer updates its website with the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in each country that has been affected. Worldometer has been rated one of the best free reference websites by the American Library Association, and for good reason: it lists every single one of its regular sources here, and lists the source of every COVID-19 update at the bottom of the COVID-19 page.
Your local health department will often have the most up-to-date information specific to your immediate area, including how to proceed if you believe you may be showing symptoms of the virus. If you live in the United States, you can find the contact information for your health department by visiting the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO).
There’s another thing about this news that a lot of places are not talking about: the toll on one’s mental health, especially if you are someone who struggles with anxiety. If you find your concerns about being prepared are crossing a line that affects your mental health, please consider reaching out to a loved one who can guide you to help, a mental health professional, or an organization set up to help those in need.
Here are a couple of organizations you can trust:
Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support. Just text 741741 from anywhere in the United States. The Crisis Text Line will connect you with a trained Crisis Counselor.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (@namiorg) offers free support and resources for those who are struggling. NAMI can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm EST at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or by email at [email protected].
Take care of yourselves, Tumblr. Wash your hands well, practice keeping a safe distance from others, only wear a mask if you believe you are sick with COVID-19 symptoms and could infect others (or are immunocompromised yourself), and remember to fact check everything that you see. Head on over to @world-wide-what for a refresher on what fake news looks like and how it spreads. Pass those tips onto others when you see them accidentally spreading false information.

Some context on Trump assassinating Qassem Soleimani
Soleimani was Iran’s top military official and the second most powerful person in the country
People comparing this to drone strikes on people suspected of terrorism are missing this very important point. This was not a drone strike on a terrorist group. This was assassinating a high-level official from another country.
Trump had him assassinated without Congressional authorization. According to Pelosi, Congress wasn’t even notified. We found out about the attack when it was announced last night on Iraqi television.
Lindsay Graham is now saying he knew about the plan 2 days ago. This means he is either lying to make it seem less like Trump did this out of nowhere, or Trump is selectively briefing members of Congress who he’s friendly with.
The official justification for this assassination was Soleimani was “actively planning” an attack on Americans. Those of you who remember the lead up to the Iraq war may recognize this “preemptive strike” language.
Whether or not Soleimani was an “enemy” isn’t important. Putin is an enemy. North Korea threatens everyone. But there’s a reason we don’t just assassinate officials from other countries, even if they demonstrably don’t like us, and that’s because it can start a war
You might notice that those other examples I used have dangerous weapons of their own. That’s what is material here. Trump, in his zeal for destroying Obama’s legacy, threw out the Iran Nuclear Agreement. That agreement was a big deal because it brought Iran to the negotiating table for the first time in years. Now? Never again. But also, this is terrible for anyone who sincerely believes in the goal of global nuclear disarmament, because it’s essentially confirming that unless your country has the firepower to reasonably threaten others, there is no guarantee of safety, because the US won’t even hold to its own agreements. What incentive then is there to not build weapons of your own?
This act is just the latest bit of bizarre foreign policy decisions by the Trump administration. The Kurds helped us in the fight with Syria, and we betrayed them. Trump gives North Korea everything, including a public appearance with a US President, and they continue to threaten everyone with their missiles. Iran has an agreement with us, and we throw it away and kill their top general.
Please remember Trump is currently an impeached President, implicated in several crimes, in an election year.

Rant about last Ep of HNS
*excessive inhaling*
WHAT THE FU-?!
P.S: I wanna thank Hoshiai no sora from the bottom of my heart for this realistic serious take on the life of young children of this Generation. It was a rollercoaster from the beginning on ( I am still shaking from the last moments). I love every character (well obviously excluding the shitty parents) and am so glad that there are characters people will feel connected to. If you haven't heard HnS was supposed to be 24 eps long but because the Anime industry is afraid of the depiction of real life issues especially for young people (those p*ssies) it was cut to 12. Kazuki Akane is still hoping for a second season if the feedback is loud and positive enough. Give Hoshiai no sora a chance if you haven't it will make you feel things differently. To HnS goodbye. For Now. We will meet again
P.P.S.: I am still shocked.

“‘Hoshiai no Sora’ ended its TV broadcasting today with episode 12. But the story has a continuation, and the drama of the characters will move even further from this point onward. It was originally a 24-episode story, so it was scheduled to have one more cour and complete itself three months later, thus there is a 13th episode with direct connection to it. There was a sudden change of plans this spring that made it a 12-episode broadcast, but there is the fact that we have taken over two years to make it, and the animation work of the main story was on-going, so we decided that making it into a 12-episode composition at that point was impossible, thus we made 12 episodes of it while keeping it a 24-episode composition. I had the desire to make this series into something unlike average animes, so this might also be a 'Hoshiai no Sora’-like way of ending the broadcast. I want to make the story of the remaining 12 episodes and be granted an opportunity to show everyone Maki and Touma’s future. I think now is a time in which the media itself is in the height of change as well, so I believe it might be interesting to see how 'Hoshiai no Sora’ will turn out. I would be happy if the people who have watched 'Hoshiai no Sora’ until now could cheer us on so that we can make a sequel.”

Muslims are being denied citizenship in India. Concentration camps are getting built for them as you are reading this. In China, they’re already in concentration camps with their organs getting illegally harvested. While they endure that torture, muslims in the UK are getting harassed by islamaphobes and told they look like letter boxes. In France, Muslim women cannot wear headscarves in school or on the beach. In the United States, they’re getting called terrorists and murderers with bans being placed on them. They cannot even “escape” to their homelands with almost all Muslims fleeing a state of chaos and war. All this and yet Muslims are seeing silence from politicians and governments. Silence from the people. Silence from the world. Silence.
