So Noah is openly being a zionist online... AGAIN. I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to leave the fandom- which I support, if you can drop this then you should. But if you're like me and it's not that simple, here are a couple rough tips that might help;
Pro-tip; instead of paying for Netflix and helping support genocide and the zionists in the cast/crew, cancel your subscription and send that money to charities that are bringing aid and resources into Gaza!
Pro-tip 2; buy fan content and nothing liscenced! Fan works are often better quality than the show- from drawings, to writing, to pins... it's worth the money and you aren't sending money to people openly supporting genocide and the murder of children!
Pro-tip 3; if you are going to continue taking part in fandom, like myself, do not do so in silence. Palestinians are being murdered and we can't pretend that it isn't happening simply because we have hyperfixations that we can't get rid of.
Pro-tip 4; join boycotts! Not only the monetary boycott of Netflix and Stranger Things, but- at least- the three main boycotts; McDonalds, Disney+ and Starbucks! There are many others, from Puma to Barclays to Booking.com to Pizza Hut to Burger King... None of these things are necessities and you can easily go without! Other options are probably cheaper and better quality too! It's a win-win!
Pro-tip 5; Go to protests if you can! Make your voice heard not only online but in person too! We have strength in numbers and we cannot lose the momentum we've barely started to build! Take direct action!
P.S. biggest fuck you to Noah Schnapp but also; Ross Duffer, Shawn Levy and Brett Gelman can suck the shit right out my ass <3

I made the mistake of scrolling the dash last night, hoping to re-engage my Loki fandom feels, only to be reminded of why I've more or less quit this fandom - which, for the record, is bc I don't know if it's purity culture or "woke" culture or just "for the love of god, I'm begging you to touch grass" culture, but I'd like to engage with my blorbo without running into posts spouting takes like "saying Loki has small, slender hands is a feminization kink (and therefore bad)." Like?? I think there's something inherently anti-genderfluidity(?) to assume that men can't have small, slender hands or that having small, slender hands is automatically a feminine trait, and also Loki does have small, slender hands, and also even if it is being written as some kind of a kink, so what? Why are we kink-shaming?
I mean, I don't know, it just seems like there are more and more and more things that are being shamed, or criticized, based on an arbitrary sense of morality that undermines fiction as a creative, explorative form of art and it's just beyond exhausting - and fucking obnoxious - at this point.

Discord really did ruin my engagement with anything outside discord huh
Like I suppose it's not Discord specifically per-sey, but I also see it with a significant amount of other people too. It's just another instant gratification thing the world has been latching onto the last decade or so I think. Chatrooms were fun and I spent a lot of time in them back then too but they weren't the end all be all, they were a place to just chat where the main sites were used for their purpose whereas nowadays everything is centralized on Discord and that won't last forever either, giant as it is. (Please I beg people don't keep all of your important information there, keep it localized in a space YOU control. ESPECIALLY if you're a major community for information keeping.) Slower posting required people to actually think about what they were saying most of the time and had public searchable pages in case information there was needed. Now I see people booing concepts like forums in the exact way they made fun of "boomers" for booing newer concepts and absolutely refusing to learn or engage with them. It's fascinating in the saddest way.
I dunno I want to go back to the days of things moving slower I guess. Just in general, not even just internet-wise.

with shadow out of the lineup for the twitter takeovers for now that means they cant say any offensively out of character stuff about him anymore which is a win but what if with him gone they direct that energy elsewhere. what if they start saying offensively out of character stuff about amy or knuckles or sonic. horrifying

You ever have something and just know that if it gets out it’s going to just run rampant throughout the fandom? Like it could be a piece of fanart or fact or fic idea. Cause I do. And I know it could lead to some amazing fanfics and fanarts and ficlets but I just know it’s going to be spun in a way to push a certain agenda within a fandom. Not a bad agenda, just a certain… theme that’s taken over the top gun fandom.
And here’s my problem: there’s not enough Iceman-focused angst or whump content or just content in general and I don’t want to make that worse for myself so I’m keeping my mouth shut lol

Adult Greek myth retelling focused on Penelope in the years during which Odysseus was gone from Ithaca
As Penelope tries to keep the peace between suitors and keep Ithaca from falling into a civil war, events in Mycenae threaten to undo her efforts
Narrated in a very snarky fashion by Hera, queen of the gods
First in a planned trilogy focusing on the women of Greek mythology

So I see this tumblr banner:
And - because of my time zone, I often get events for specific dates on a little bit of a wonky schedule, so I automatically think
Tumblr is celebrating the anniversary of the "I baked bread today" ancient Roman graffiti! (AKA, April 19th)
(and the version of that post that seems to have started the recognition of the date was originally posted by @fuckyeahbiguys )
BUT NO!!!!
Turns out it's a 4/20 reference!
Which like - I am not mad about by any means, but it was definitely not what I was expecting.
