#i have strong opinions on the block game roleplay
Text
Some of my controversial MCD opinions/ controversial things I’m putting in my rewrite:
(Blue is opinions, purple is rewrite)
Aaron will be (and should have been) a minor character
Garroth and Laurence will end up together (slow burn/angst) because they had more chemistry with eachother than they ever did with Aphmau
Aphmau doesn’t need a love interest and all her romance will they wont they with Garroth and Laurence was boring and bordering on creepy
Garroth was more of a parental figure to Aphmau’s kids than she was but Aphmau wasn’t a bad mother
Jess makes a lot of her male characters love for Aphmau their entire personalities which is why Laurence got written out (he no longer had a use because Aphmau was with Aaron) and why Dante is a great character (he was never Aphmau’s love interest)
Garroth and Laurence’s biggest fear in Malachi’s mansion being Aphmau kissing Dante was stupid (it would’ve made more sense for it to revolve around their trauma eg: Laurence becoming a shadow knight and Garroth escaping an arranged marriage)
Dante should have killed Gene
Travis’ character should’ve been more than just a pervert because his backstory is so interesting and deserves more focus
Aphmau is aroace
Kawaii~Chan is a walking talking stereotype. Her way of talking was annoying and offensive
Katelyn’s backstory should’ve been explored more and her reasons for joining the Jury Of Nine should’ve been better explained
Zane’s death was stupid and underwhelming
Garroth and Vylad shouldn’t properly reconnect. I think too much had changed from when they last saw eachother for them to be ok with eachother
Dante, KC and Nicole’s relationship drama was annoying (like most of the relationship drama in MCD)
Garroth being pissy incel fit about Laurence and Aphmau ‘kissing’ was a stupid reason for him to join Zane and came out of no where. Garroth wouldn’t betray Aphmau and his entire village just because he couldn’t get with her it was so out of character
Zoey, Kiki and Donna deserve more appreciation because they’re often forgotten. They’re fun characters
Katelyn (should’ve) had to work harder to earn Aphmau’s trust
They should’ve had to have faced off more of the Jury of Nine after Katelyn defected and Zane declared war on Pheonix Drop
Irene’s influence should be more focused on so the reveal that Aphmau was Irene had more impact cuz it kinda sucked like I get Irene is a mystery n all but it made the reveal underwhelming

Download Minecraft Creates Specialists
Loots that you can find in the environment. Can only be performed on the present model. You may as well entry the Realms Plus server by means of any version of Minecraft (besides Java Edition) utilizing a console, cellphone, or Computer. Can I take advantage of my Minecraft: Schooling Version licenses to entry a Minecraft Bedrock or Java server? For Java Version, the utmost variety of gamers is 8. Only Java Version shoppers can be part of this server. For Minecraft: Java Edition, only Realms is available, and for each different version, Realms Plus is obtainable as well. You'll be able to play simultaneously using your cellphone, the version for Windows 10, as well as consoles. We will safely say that Minecraft is a success with greater than 10 million registered customers mark. The demand to play this recreation is rising daily and with a purpose to handle such unlimited minecrafters, a strong, utilized in addition to an enjoyable internet hosting service is needed. Hit the "Play" button. Hit the edit button.
However there isn't a easy and familiar button “Play with friends” in the game. There are no player or mobs attacking, attempting to steal your collected items and your gear. There are just a few incompatibilities as with every mod, so do take a look on the obtain page for this. Worlds are rendered with low-decision blocks, and there are often many floors between the start of a dungeon and its exit. Press X. Then you might be ready for file switch. The second method is to create a LAN server in your computer, where you may then invite mates. If a graphic overhaul should be done, then it ought to fall in line as closely to the unique designs as doable -- simply barely higher. The one requirement is that you simply have to be consistently in the game to ensure that the whole lot to work. Paid, the subscription must be renewed each month or taken instantly for six months. Cox may need software program that does what a gaming router does, but RCN goes further and gives prospects the choice of renting a gaming router outright for $13 per month.
When you have one though, the LAN choice stands out as a comparatively fast setup. This plan starts at $3.99/month, an reasonably priced possibility if you’re seeking to host a number of WordPress sites with a single plan. It is suggested that the host computer has at the very least 1.5 Mbps of bandwidth. For instance, you can buy a server and host it on your Computer. And the standard of the connection will rely on the web speed of the host and the space between him and linked gamers. After the top of the subscription, the game world will likely be accessible for another 18 months in case you want to download it or renew your subscription. Discover the world you wish to edit within the listing proven beneath. Unfortunately, if you employ a 3rd-party consumer of the sport, you won’t have the ability to see the server listing in Minecraft. Also, for a LAN server on these platforms, you'll be able to set the maximum number of players up to 30. This is done utilizing the / setmaxplayers command, which it's good to register in the chat.
This can be a multiplayer model of your favourite sandbox the place you may share your cubic adventures with your folks or just random players. Webpage where you could find big selection of minecraft materials such as mods, textures, maps, shaders, additionally you may download minecraft itself. Now in minecraft servers update, extra Sonic x Minecraft content has arrived. For extra information on learn how to finest utilize multiplayer with 30 or extra college students you may join with different teachers in our community boards. In my opinion the best release can be the primary video sport, nonetheless should you wish to play in your smartphone I recommend the Minecraft pocket edition. You'd assume that MMOs are a perfect match for youths as a result of children like to play pretend and use their imaginations, and MMOs are designed round roleplaying an avatar in a virtual world. Minecraft is such a luring game that teenagers or young kids. Losing your stuff in Minecraft is a miserable, but cheap punishment. The most common issues one might have with multiplayer in Minecraft are often one thing to do with Minecraft itself.

Talks Machina Highlights - Critical Role C2E92 (Jan. 28, 2020)
This week’s guests are Laura Bailey and Marisha Ray!
Announcements: At 4 PM Pacific on February 4, season 2 of All Work No Play premieres! Pre-sale tickets for autographs and photo ops for C2E2 are available now via Epic Photo Ops! Lots of “super-secret but majorly exciting announcements” to come this week on the website!
Episode 92: Home Is Where the Heart Is
Stats for this episode: it has been 69 episodes, 6 levels, and 212 Exandrian days since the Nein last saw the reformed bandits. The Nein haven’t killed anyone since episode 86, a campaign 2 record (Laura: “I know, I’m aching!”). Jester cast her 50th Guidance spell this episode (on herself), and it’s been 50 Exandrian days since the Nein last partook of a bottle of Lionett wine together in Trostenwald.
On initial expectations vs. reality for their characters’ fathers: Laura: “I had no notion of what he was going to be. I literally wrote that he wooed my mom, that he wore lots of rings on his fingers, and that he went off to get his place ready to come meet him, and that was all.” She notes that she knew Jester was half-water genasi, but she wasn’t there the first time they met the Gentleman to ask any leading questions. Marisha: “I had this struggling panic for a while. I didn’t know how he was going to play him. There was a strong possibility in my head that my parents were great, and were just like, ‘We were trying so hard, we’re so sorry.’ It was pretty crazy the way he actually played it. And it did feel like, he sucks, yeah, okay, no.”
On Fjord’s heart-to-heart with Beau: “I felt like Beau and Fjord had good pirate-ship bonding time. It’s been a bit since Beau and Fjord checked in, so that was a cool Fjord-Beau moment that was nice to have, like, we’re still bros, it’s great.”
Jester just wanted to make Beau feel better, especially as she realized that she’d been a little oblivious in cheering about how great her dad was: “It was so crazy, the minute we got there and you reverted back to the initial Beau, the first Beau that we met, and then even further past that. It just killed Jester to see that.” Marisha notes that the moment when Jester pulled Beau aside, she was about to lose it: “I tried to work Beau in a direction of growth, and getting to a point where she’s not angry and snappy and just fucking lashing out at people. So Beau’s going to try to keep her cool, and then I was literally sucking in the air, and you were like, ‘Come here,’ and that was just enough to get the reset button and the calm. She’s not in a place to forgive her parents, but Jester talking about the poison of holding on to all of that was kind of what, I was like, okay. I can use this in that moment to not have to make it about forgiving my parents right now, or ever, but to be able to start to heal and separate from that and that past. And for Beau to forgive herself.” Laura, after the game, was worried that it came across as Jester trying to get Beau to forgive her dad, and Beau notes that not seeing even a fraction of the effort the Gentleman has put forward kind of wiped that possibility out.
Beau’s grown a lot since she was last home. “The Mighty Nein has helped Beau trust in other people around her and come out of her shell and learn how to control her outbursts and her blaming other people and her anger. That’s so far from the Beau that was in that house.” Marisha was actually startled at herself when Beau snapped at Nott over the horse. “It was immediately all those bad thoughts were coming back, so it felt like Beau was on the verge of reverting.” Laura: “Nothing makes you fucking regress to your childhood mannerisms and behaviors faster than going home.”
Jester believes that “love is stronger than anything else”. She knows her parents still love each other, so “any of those other crazy things, they can work through.”
On whether Beau’s dad is really worried about her: “I think he cares to the extent that anyone cares about anyone’s general safety. I think he’s concerned about himself first, and what he has, and then I think he’s concerned about Beau next, after that. But I don’t know, maybe I’m being incredibly harsh. But there is, to this point, that element of what’s the twist.” Laura notes that she got a really high insight check on Beau’s dad. “There’s a reason that I was like, maybe give him open ears” at that moment.
Cosplay of the Week: a very detailed Molly! (GalacticLeah, photo by Fricbergsean)
On potentially leaving the Lionetts destitute if they destroy the hag, Laura and Marisha say, in unison: “Fuck the Lionetts.” They note that they’ve got the resources to make sure T.J. will be fine, and that’s all that really matters.
Has Jester forgiven her father? “I don’t think Jester’s angry at him. She’s very empathetic. She’s very good at going, okay, I see it from your side. And I think she was afraid more that something bad had happened to him. Obviously, if he could have returned, he would have, because he loved her mother so much. So I don’t think she’s angry at him. I don’t think, necessarily, she doesn’t think he’s perfect, but she’s making the best of the situation. I think she’s just happy that he’s around. Make up for lost time.”
Brian asks about how different it is to be supportive of each other and exploring backstories in this campaign versus with the last campaign’s more archetypal characters. Marisha: “It feels like the campaign has been very muddy and not black-and-white. The same for every person’s individual backstory issues.” She notes that there’s a lot more ambiguity. Laura: “Vex wasn’t empathetic. She was sympathetic sometimes, but sometimes when Keyleth was going through something, Vex was like, come on, get your shit together.” Brian notes just how different everyone’s characters are this time around. “It’s awesome!”
Laura notes that TJ ran up to Beau and called her sister, which means that they’ve been talking about her consistently for him to recognize her. “So there is a level there.” Marisha notes that Beau has very mixed feelings about her mom, too. “She’d never offer support, or want to challenge Thoreau.” So now she’s wondering if her mom has been quietly talking her up to TJ, or if it’s both of them.
Fan Art of the week: Beau and TJ! (by ItsMalenyLopez)
Jester’s perspective on the Gentleman’s partners: “You can sleep with people, but don’t form a fucking relationship with them. That’s the difference.”
Marisha, on working with difficult topics on the show: “The audience goes away in the moment. Yes, it’s hard, yes, it’s cathartic, and yes, it’s something on a whole other level. It’s why roleplaying games are so fucking awesome, because they allow you to do that.” Marisha notes that she has a great relationship with her own parents, but getting to explore is interesting. “It’s hard to describe.” Laura: “There’s a safety there, to be able to dive into these places.” Marisha: “With all of these issues, these issues are skinned, but the root of them are often very relatable issues that everyone goes through. So there is a certain amount of catharsis to that. So while I personally had a good relationship with my parents, I’m accustomed to feeling shut out, feeling misunderstood, going through psychological abuse, all of those things. And, of course, everyone knows someone who has probably experienced those things first-hand, so you can get a sense of understanding in some ways, but there’s layers of everything that you’re doing that can totally think back to things that were from your life.” Laura: “I think that RPGs are so great for just humanity in general, because it really makes you see things from another person’s perspective.” Marisha: “It takes time. I don’t recommend anybody try to do something like this out of the gate with your first game.” Laura: “No, I mean, we’ve been playing this game together as a family now for eight years. And we’re just now getting to stuff like this. All that time of building trust and being able to know, okay, if I go to these levels, I’m going to have the support of the people around me.” Marisha: “The whole thing is a trust fall.”
Jester’s opinion on the M9′s worry about the Traveler’s cultishness? “Well-meaning but paranoid.” Before leaving the Lavish Chateau, she barely told anyone about the Traveler, and they all just accepted him as her imaginary friend. “She knows he’s godly. She knows how powerful he is. There is a little bit of ‘Oh, that’s weird,’ seeing how other gods deal with their... constituents?” Laura notes that she has absolutely no idea what Traveler-Con is going to be like.
Beau has always been aware that her tattoo has the jade/tarot connections with her father as well. “That’s why Beau was so salty with Molly when he was trying to tell fortunes from the beginning. It’s all layered. Didn’t intend for it, but jade just happened to be the one that boosts wisdom.”
Marisha and Laura both note that defeating more traditional enemies can be easily resolved in a way that can be used to block out the things that are really bothering you. Family issues, on the other hand, usually don’t have a simple resolution.

RULES
No godmodding. Plenty of my characters are powerful, believe me, I know. Two are practically gods. But I always put limits to them so the roleplay is enjoyable for both sides. I prefer my writing partners to do the same. If your character is capable of stopping every single thing mine does you just corner both of us and it's not fun anymore. I will discuss it with you before writing a powerful character (e.g. Rhys/Alistair) or gods (e.g. Horus, Anubis) so if your character is in a god modding level, please come to me before putting it in a thread.
Don't pressure me for replies. I am a part time (maybe soon full time) journalist and a gamer so most of my free time goes to gaming. I also rp in other platforms so I am going to be rather slow. If you feel like you can't wait, do not interact.
Do not presume I'm ignoring you. This isn't exactly a rule but a note. I have over 100 (I think) muses which means it's practically impossible to keep all of them active. Some will be more active during one time, some others during another. Only few muses are strong enough to stay active despite what I'm watching or doing irl to inspire my writing. With that being said, if you see me replying but I'm not replying to you it does not mean I'm ignoring you, it means I lack the muse for our thread. If you feel like I have forgotten (because yes, there is a chance I miss something when saving everything to drafts) please do let me know and don't jump into conclusions.
No ooc drama. As you probably have noticed, one of my favorite things to do is making my characters suffer, which is probably the reason most of them hate me, lol. But I am a human being, with anxiety and a lot of stress in my life so I will not tolerate ooc drama. It doesn't only kill my muse, but also fills me with anxiety and I already have an unhealthy amount of that as a journalist. If you spread anonymous or ooc hate, you will be ignored and if it keeps happening you will be blocked.
Let's agree to disagree. Not everyone is gonna have the same opinion on everything. Whether that's character related (e.g. I think Robert Stahl is a complex character I wish to write as, some others just consider him a psychotic stalker) or ooc related (e.g. I don't consider getting drunk as something fun to do so I generally dislike clubs and I avoid drinking) we can have different opinions and talk about them ooc. But if you are not willing to accept my opinion, do not talk to me about the matter. Moreover, if you think your opinion will affect our rp or our ooc relationship, do not interact.
Discuss. Sometimes plotting is hard and writing a random starter might be the easiest thing to do and I understand that. But not all the rps will go smoothly. If you feel like you don't like something in the plot, come to me so we can talk about it. Also, I'm a huge fan of ocs and I do focus heavily on headcannons, so if you feel uncertain about something, please talk to me about it. Conversation sometimes is the perfect solution.
Do not control my characters. Writing is fun, trust me. But you have your character, I have my own. I ask you not to write my characters actions but also not to control my character and his backstory unless we have discussed it. I can ship with you, I can make our characters related, but not until we plot it out. And as mentioned above, there is a chance we disagree. If you feel like you're not comfortable with that, please avoid interacting.
Triggers and NSFW. Plenty of my characters have triggering elements (e.g Rhys - Blood, Sepherd - bugs). I will try my best to tag them in threads but if your trigger is bugs, avoid reading anything related to Sepherd since it's a part of his character. If your trigger warnings is stalking, avoid reading threads or memes / headcannons related to Robert Stahl, especially his Shades of Blue verses. Sometimes I might forget to tag something especially in threads were a trigger is heavily present (e.g. Blood in a zombie apocalypse thread) so avoid some threads if you feel like it will be triggering. Now I don't generally write nsfw because I just feel like I can't deliver good nsfw threads but in case nsfw is present it will be tagged. Also, please don't pressure me to write nsfw. I am not comfortable with it (even though I'm 20+). That doesn't mean I won't do it but please don't pressure me into it.
Ooc chat. I prefer getting to know my writing partners so I might as well slip into your inbox. In case you are not comfortable sharing, you are more than free to decline this and we can stay strictly to plotting. I generally prefer getting to know my rp partners so we interact better but that doesn't mean I won't write with you if you only wish to plot.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme
fill out & repost ♥  This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
Tumblr media
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK (I don’t see lot of content with him so he’s not so popular I guess? :( )
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK (apparently it’s a debate but I personally find him HOT)
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Are they underrated? YES / NO / IDK
Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO (first one to introduce observation haki so heck)
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL
How strictly do you follow canon?
I’m trying my best to follow his canon character and the way he reasons, but I have to somehow make sure to be able to interact in several verses as well, which could end up turning him as a more canon-divergent character sometimes. We don’t know much about Enel, especially his past, it’s a vast playground which has never really been explored, so it gives me liberties regarding his interpretation and my own headcanons. I do believe I try to portray him in the most canon way possible, but I’m not Oda, and I didn’t create his set of mind in the first place! That’s just me trying!
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.
Enel is an asteroid suddenly entering your world, highly different from the casual villain you could encounter, with a set of mind different from what you have ever seen before! Egocentric prick full of himself and able to harm your muse either with in verbal joust or physically? For sure! You want to have debate about your muse’s most profound beliefs and challenge their abilities to think and manipulate someone else? He’s always up to have a conversation and will provide you so many topics to debate that you could stay here for years without even being done. Enel is the impredictable character you need to have spice in your life. He drifts between a terribly strong God Complex and a very human persona, leading you to various interactions where I dare you not to feel anything. Because that’s it’s his best capacity : ENEL WILL MAKE YOU FEEL SOMETHING, and either you will love it, or hate it, but you can’t remain neutral when he’s around.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).
Even if you believe he could be nice and understanding towards your muse’s sorrows, Enel remains a villain and probably one of the most unpredictable. He’s not here to be kind, not here to waste his time either. He’s more often harsh and insulting than really patient and open-minded. Could he really love your muse one day? That’s a harsh question, and he will probably disappoint them if you expect something more casual around him. Enel loves to destroy his environment, challenge his RP partners (all of them, not necessarily on a romantic ship), and your muse could walk out of his garden, thinking that they waste their time with someone like him.
What inspired you to rp your muse?
I JUST LOVE ENEL SO MUCH.
I have always been hooked by complicated characters in the first place, and when I started RP with my OC when I came here, I was already interested in having another canon character. I wanted to roleplay with him, and no one else. Enel is such... a forgotten character? We forget about his haki, we forget about his set of mind, we forget about his combat skills (DAMN he masters martial arts so WELL), we forget about his impressive logia fruit... Enel is a smart man, cruel and impetuous, but his philosophy is so interesting to develop, I’m just a weak girl for this boy.
What keeps your inspiration going?
Definitely the numerous roleplay I have, and the awesome friendships I developed with awesome muns!! I have received so nice comments regarding my portrayal that it’s a real pleasure to keep musing with him. Really, guys, thanks a lot for everything!!
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you do your character justice? YES / NO (doing my best)
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO
Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO (I’m tough for sure but I’m also a bby)
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?
Only if it’s constructive and genuine in the first place! I totally get that people might find my portrayal divergent regarding his canon character, but argumenting is always important, and it’s still a game... I wouldn’t actively criticize someone in the first place because I don’t agree with the way they portray their muse ; everyone should be able to bring more diversity in the RP world and have fun in the way they want to play, as long as they’re having fun! So yes, and no, it really depends and I guess criticism comes with trust between two mutuals.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?
I’m a sucker for these questions! I’m often surprised by a lot of them, and it allows me to explore topics I didn’t think about!
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?
Like the criticism part, it depends on the way that person is talking to me! We can all have different opinions regarding characters, it must remain genuine. Sure we can have two points of view, that’s even amazing! But it doesn’t mean I will change my headcanon, because this is the way I like to see my muse :) People needs to respect my own creativity, as I respect theirs when it comes to their muses, it’s simple.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?
I just block and don’t care anymore. We can’t all get along for sure, and I’m too old to actually change the way I want to portray my muse, and also... too experimented on the RP world to turn it into something toxic again. You don’t like it? That’s alright, let’s just live our lives in peace, there’s no point in continuing interacting and seeing each others. Nothing personal! Just having some peace :)
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?
You can hate Enel, it’s absolutely normal to find him arrogant and despicable, but people need to draw the line between ENEL’s actions and ME as a mun. I’m not him, I’m writing how he WOULD react to something, so I don’t want to suffer from people’s hate towards me, or disappointment I guess if the RP relationship doesn’t go the way they want/hope? I have an EXTREME tendency to really separate my RP passion and my real life thanks to former experiences, which means I’m definitely able to play with my muse with a completely detached set of mind (it’s actually the only way for me to play villains XD). I’m perhaps not the best partner to interact with if RP gets under your nerves too much, or if you take things too... personally. Because actually, I have no more patience for this...
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?
I don’t mind, because english isn’t my first language in the first place! I’m always trying to write readable contents, and even if I have a good level in english, mistakes happen so... I really don’t mind if someone corrects me!
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?
I’m easy-going, an extrovert for sure, it’s easy to actually reach me, and it’s easy to talk to me. I won’t pretend though that I don’t have my flaws! Sometimes I’m not in the mood to talk on discord or here, and I have the terrible need to withdraw into myself after a long day at work. Though, I love interacting with people, musing, talking about everything!! I’m always up to share a chat! :)
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

mobile post of all my information for the anon who wanted a mobile rules / bio. i could make a google docs but i’m burnt out. please also note, i haven’t even GLANCED at my bio i wrote for elijah since 2018, so uh... i should probably do that. sorry if it’s bad.
ONE. due to the nature of my roleplaying style, there will absolutely be mature themes here and there on this blog. all and any mature themes that involve sexual topics of the nsfw variety will only be written with muses that are 18+. as for those people that are 18+ that follow me, i fully understand if you do not want to write any nsfw content, and if any threads lead to that we can fade to black. just ask me, i’m fairly easy going and more than happy to make people feel welcome. it is not a requirement to rp nsfw content with me and i will never force anyone to do that. !
TWO. this is a selective/private blog. i really only roleplay with mutuals, however you’re more than welcome to reply to any of my open starters if i specify that you can but just know i might not reply because i (1) don’t know your muse, (2) have zero muse for the reply and will get to it later, (3) have no interest in the thread, or (4) am uncomfortable with something on your blog. roleplaying is also a HOBBY for me. i work full time and sometimes i genuinely cannot reply fast. if you hassle me to reply to things, i will not want to roleplay with you and it will turn me off from roleplaying with you completely. in fact, if you harrass me to reply to threads, i will automatically unfollow you because i’m not about that life of being pushed to reply to things. if you spam my follow button to try and get my attention, that will result in a soft block on your behalf. please don’t test my patience. if you do not have your ooc name on your page i will not follow you, due to me thinking hiding your ooc alias is shady and sketchy af.
THREE. i love shipping and i love roleplaying so much. this is not a single ship blog and none of the ships i portray are at the same time (unless further discussed with muns, of course).MY PRIMARY CHLOE SHIPPING PARTNER IS @TURINGTESTEE, which means that if kamski mentions chloe in a verse, he's most likely talking about this chloe. if there are any verses that kamski is going to have one single ship, i will make sure to let people know that in the verse description section once i make it. otherwise, my muse is a free for all. if i do have mains, which will be listed, they are just the people i will reply to the most, however, i won't actually limit myself to only roleplaying with them and i hope my mains respect and are comfortable with that.
FOUR. tagging triggers is something that means a lot to me as i am not comfortable with NEEDLES OR PUPPETS on my dashboard so i blacklist needles tw and puppets tw. i know it’s weird but hey, we all have our things. please let me know if you need anything tagged- even if i don’t personally follow you. you deserve a clean and safe dashboard to roleplay in. WARNING.
FIVE.anon hate will be deleted on the spot. no exceptions. i don’t care about your petty feelings and i won’t tolerate them in the slightest. i’m not here to entertain horrible people’s opinions of myself. constructive criticisms are allowed, but at the respect of myself reblogging a meme asking for it specifically.
SIX. mutuals are allowed to ask for my wire or discord, since i use both and would love to rp on both. i also play dead by daylight on ps4, so if you’d be down to game as well, feel free to hit me up there too! overwatch on ps4 is ITSGEOFFREY so you can add me there too.
SEVEN. i very rarely will send in passwords, as i do not require it and i should not have to be tested on your blog to be allowed to roleplay with someone. usually if you have a password, i genuinely just didn’t think to look for it and i apologize if this upsets you but you probably won’t see any from me.
EIGHT. please take into consideration while dealing with kamski that he has high signs of NPD & a huge god complex.

BIOGRAPHY
NAME: Elijah Dean Kamski ALIASES: Eli, Lij, Boss, Kamski GENDER: Male AFFILIATION: Cyberlife Technologies, currently retired AGE: 36
THE START
there's many days where the kamski family would have a bit of struggles, as elijah grew up. he never knew much about his father, seeing as his father passed when he was a very young boy — no more than six. he'd never grown to know too much about him, and his mother didn't overly want to share about him, so it was safe to say the woman had a reason for not telling elijah and that was that.
growing up with a single mother who had severe epilepsy, elijah tried his very hardest to make his mother's life as easy as possible. school days would be very short considering he'd go straight home from school in order to watch after his mother. some days with his mother, depending on the medication the doctors had recommended her, would be better than others. she always appreciated her son's committment to being with her and he was determined to make life easy on the two of them. using the money she got from the state, she'd try to urge her son go into extra cirricular activiies he wanted to do, however he only dismissed the ideas, claiming that he'd rather be home. he'd use the money to spend on textbooks, wanting to develop his own version of a Vagus nerve stimulation device. one that would make sure to surge with electrical pulses before his mother even remotely had to move herself to activate the device. computer engineering was his goal, and he'd stop at nothing to get through that.
as life continued on, elijah continued to shove his head into books and continuously study. he pushed through high school faster than anyone had expected, at age ELEVEN he had shown his studies to multipile colleges, showing his theories on how to better create medical devices.
THE CHANGE
the university of colbridge had been a struggle for elijah, being the youngest student there. studying medical engineering was easy, and he had decided to double major in computer engineering as well, to perhaps attempt to integrate the two. though school was difficult, the hardest part was being away from his mother. the school had refused to let him travel back and forth, saying that freshmen had to stay on campus as apart of regulations and requirements from the state. when he started college, his mother had decidded upon asking the state for a caregiver- on the off chance that something did happen. with the VNS that was already implanted in her, she was able to have a job during the day, but the caretaker was supposed to just oversee her during the nights. it settled eli's anxiety about his mother a little bit. four months into his freshman year, eli had woken up to a call from the san antonio police, letting him know that his mother had been rushed to the hospital after having a grand mal seizure and hitting her head on their marble counters. apparently the caretaker assigned to look after his mother hadn't even shown up that night. he quickly rushed home, terrified what had happened.
something, however that night had turned elijah into a bitter person. into someone against humanity. though his mother had survived the seizure, things weren't the same for either of them. after knowing his mother's caretaker had ABANDONED her, elijah had fully decided to go more into engineering to create a way for humans to be more reliable. what was more reliable than humanity? MACHINES. something that would always obey. obedient machines that had a purpose and a task and would see it through. dropping fully out of medical engineering, elijah settled for computer science and engeineering instead. the utter drive to create a better human than humans themselves was so strong that by the age sixteen, elijah had worked together with a team of classmates to create the first medical assistant androids. REVOLUTIONARY KICKSTARTER model 100, or RK for short. RK100 was born and tested on his mother, who seeemed quite uneasy, but only wanted to support her son.
ENTER CYBERLIFE
though it wasn't perfect, the ark series took off. mainly piquing interest in san diego, california. the backbones of the mega-billion dollar company that would be founded by elijah kamski and his cohorts suddenly had at least three hundred backers trying to support the small business after seeing what a success the RK100 was at being not only a companion for his mother, but also how helpful the RK was at it's job. the medical caretakers were able to do so much, and suddenly with the money that was being thrown at the group, elijah became more than enthused with power. hungry for it, almost.
making more medical related androids were being highly requested, and the team set out to create diffrent functions for androids, trying to perfect everything.
taking into consideration his mother — his finest mentor and most trusted support, and what she thought of the androids, he sought out to consult with his old AI professor, Amanda Stern, on how to make the androids a bit more lifelike. It was hard, at least for what his mother admitted, for a human to trust a machine that looked like a machine to help themselves out through life. upon her advice, eli threw himself into work, the team of cyberlife growing into a business, and then a wide scale company alongside elijah's work. no matter what, the man was the front of the company, having done the majority of the coding and research in what brought the androids to life. the company sought after targeting the cheapest land developments in the united states in order to make their headquarters and warehouses, bringing CYBERLIFE to DETROIT, MICHIGAN where it currently resides.
it takes kamski four years after founding cyberlife to come out with a brand new appearance for his androids. something human like after struggling and struggling to engineer the perfect components to theorize biological functions. this equiptment created became biocompotenents, but it still wasn't enough to make thes he was creating look HUMAN. but after all the struggles and finally figuring out a way to regulate something akin to blood into the android's system, elijah kamski in the year 2022 releases the RT REVOLUTIONARY TURING model; a personal assistant to elijah kamski that uses the alias ' CHLOE '. Cyberlife has been thurst into the spotlight and once again Elijah Kamski realizes that these advancements in the world have honestly made people envious. the public demands the rights to these androids and while he still is bitter over humanity and the lack of reliabilty that humans provide for the world, he obliges. Cyberlife goes public with their androids and the public are now able to put a price tag on androids.
THE REVOLUTION
the world that assumes elijah kamski is nothing but a greedy, power-hungry boss of a CEO for cyberlife overlooks one important fact: he still wants revenge on the world. his mother passes on at the age 43, a few years before his greatest mentor amanda stern passes. the loss of both role models awakens a vengeful force in elijah kamski. one that wants to remind the world that mortality is relevant for all. cyberlife has created over thousands of models, all for different functions and he looks upon his kingdom with hopeful eyes as well as bitterness. humanity has become less reliant. they've become lazier. androids have become the working force, for the most part, and while elijah sees that as a positive note because it is moving forward away from the laziness and unreliability of humanity — the CEO is fully aware that his androids are becoming more and more human like the more and more they develop. the deviant base code is never once touched. always overlooked by cyberlife developers who dare not touch the work of the first working android made by elijah kamski himself. while he's aware he, himself, is mortal just like the rest of humanity, seeing his creations become sentient, to rise up against the laziness and unreliable humanity that he lives among has been his goal. he just awaits the REVOLUTIONARY KICKSTARTER 200 to actually get pushed to the brink of going through his code.
now it's just a game of waiting to see who pushes who, and who comes up on top. it's always a delight to play god.
THE SIBLING ALTERNATE UNIVERSE
i'm not going to be writing a brand new biography for the gavin / elijah brothers universe, but i need to work out how they can be related with my current bio, or i might just go off of a gavin's biography. shrug emote.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 & 𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄;  𝘔𝘶𝘯 & 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘦 - 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘦.
Fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OCs still can make it somehow work with their own lore and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multimuses pick the muse you are the most invested  in atm.
Tagged by: The amazing @illdivine ! Thanks a bunch for tagging me ! ^^ Tagging: @extravachance @grandordergirl @kimintsugi @royaltywritten @daitoku @pragmarage @teniras @deviilscry @foolslaugh @wrathlead and anyone else who’d like to do this meme ! ^^
My muse is:   canon /  OC  / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG (( He was one of the poster boys for Sengoku Basara 4, so...that counts for something, right ? XD I don’t think that Sengoku Basara really has a protagonist, though. Just a bunch of different characters. ))
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO (( I’m putting ‘yes’ if only because Mitsunari, who never remembers anyone, remembers who Katsuie is. XD I think that, in general, some characters know Katsuie and others don’t ? ))
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL (( Bad in-universe, somewhere in between neutral and bad in the fandom. ))
How strictly do you follow ‘canon’? — I’d say that I follow canon pretty strictly ! Though I do add my own headcanons. ^^ I need to update some of my pages so that they’re more in line with canon, though. Especially Katsuie’s modern verse, now that the Basara Academy anime has been out for over a year... XD
Sell your muse! Try to list everything that makes your muse interesting (in your opinion) to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —   Katsuie comes off as really normal and very chill at first, which lets him easily have a first meeting interaction with most muses without angering them / fighting them / killing them / etc. But the more you delve into his thoughts and the things he does, you can see how warped his mindset is when it comes to certain subjects / people. ^^ And he’s a depressed emo kid, so I'd imagine that a lot of people on Tumblr would connect with him over that. XD
Now the opposite. List every reason why your muse might not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom think?).  —   Back when SB4 first came out, Katsuie got a lot of flak for his creepy obsession with Oichi, which is admittedly pretty bad. Since she’s, you know, married, and Katsuie’s willing to go so far as to kill Nagamasa, her husband, for a chance (?) to be with her. Not to mention Katsuie’s anime route, where he gets himself kicked out of the Oda clan, destroys his own hopes and dreams in the process by killing everyone in the Azai clan (Nagamasa, Oichi, and Maria), and finally gets mercy-killed by the former shogun. Yikes. ^^; I’m honestly surprised that, in my five years roleplaying Katsuie, no one’s sent in anon hate to me because of Katsuie’s behavior. (Unfortunately, a former rp partner of mine once got anon hate years ago for shipping Katsuie and Oichi. ;u;)
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐏 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄? —  Katsuie’s actually my very first muse ! ^^ I started writing him at the end of my senior year of high school. I think I’d been into Sengoku Basara for a year or two at that point, and I’d been reading translations that people were making for SB4. I’d also been following Sengoku Basara roleplayers / ask blogs (there were several active ones around back then), and I really enjoyed reading their interactions, so I wanted to pick a Sengoku Basara character so that I could roleplay with them, too ! I tried writing for a couple of potential muses in private to test them out, but it felt most natural to write for Katsuie, so I went with him as my first muse ! I probably chose him because I’d gone through a bunch of not-so-fun stuff in high school, so I saw Katsuie going through a bunch of not-so-fun stuff in the Oda clan and sympathized with that.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆?  —  To my knowledge, I’ve been the only one roleplaying Katsuie semi-consistently over the past five years ? He’s just such an interesting character to me —– it’d be too sad to close this blog and not see anyone’s Katsuie interact with other people’s muses anymore. ;u; It’s something I’ve been a little worried about recently because I know I’m going to be more busy in the future, since I’m (hopefully) going to finish up my research this year, get my master’s degree next year, and then go straight into a serious full-time job. I don’t want to give up rolepaying, but if I get too busy next year... >.<
Also, playing the mobile game Sengoku Basara: Battle Party every day helps ! And my rp partners are awesome. ^^
𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐍
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could help them get more comfortable with you.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / IDK
YES / NO
Are you good at accepting criticism about your portrayal? —  Yeah, I’d say I’m pretty good at accepting criticism !
Do you like questions which help you explore your character? —   Yeah ! I’m happy to answer whatever questions everyone has about Katsuie ! ^^
If someone disagrees with a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? —   Yeah, because it’s interesting to see how other people view Katsuie ! From my point of view, if someone disagrees with one of my headcanons on Katsuie, it means that they’re interested enough in him and have thought about him enough to have their own opinions on him. It’s so so so so difficult to get anyone interested in muses from a series as niche and JP-only as Sengoku Basara, so I’d honestly be happy if someone cared enough about Sengoku Basara and Katsuie to disagree with me on my headcanons for Katsuie, as strange as that sounds. XD
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? —  I think my answer to this question would be basically the same as the last one. I probably wouldn’t change my portrayal at this point, though ? I’ve had it for a long time and I’m actually really happy with it. ^^ Probably the only reason why I’d change my portrayal is if someone found / made more translations of the games that Katsuie is in (SB4, Sumeragi, Sanada Yukimura-den, Batopa, etc.) and I found canon details in the new translations that really clashed with details in my portrayal. In that case, I’d change my portrayal to match with canon.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? —  That’s fair, honestly, especially when it comes to things Past!Katsuie / Kaioh has said and done, and even just things Default!Katsuie has done. Katsuie’s a really messed-up dude, and his views on things can be really twisted sometimes. And hey, if someone hates Katsuie, at least that means that they care about him on some level, right ? XD Apathy is the one thing that really kills my muse.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? —  Sure ! If they can find them. XD I edit my drafts A LOT before I actually publish them, so usually I manage to catch all my mistakes, although the occasional mistake slips through every so often. Hemingway Editor is honestly a lifesaver when it comes to finding simple spelling errors and helping me write my sentences so that they’re a reasonable length and don’t have too many adverbs / phrases written in passive voice / etc.
Do you think you are easygoing as a mun? —  I think so ! ^^ I just want to roleplay my muses and have a good time watching them grow and form relationships with other muses, that’s all. If there’s something I don’t like, I know to mute / unfollow / block / etc. and move on. Life’s too short to get involved in drama.

Vancian Magic in D&D: It’s a Feature, Not a Bug
As I mentioned a few weeks back, I've been drafted to run a D&D game for a group of new players. We're getting close to running our zero session, probably by the end of this week. I have two players interested in elves, and a third that apparently likes to play healing classes whenever he plays MMO's. I'll lay out all the options and see if that changes come game day, but for now I'm going to run with the assumption that this will be the makeup of the party.
If so, it throws a small hiccup into my plan of using Lamentations of the Flame Princess as my base.
In LotFP, only Fighters get an increase to their attack bonus as they level up. I actually think this is one of James Raggi's more inspired decisions. It clearly blocks off combat as a the sole specialty of the Fighter, which then encourages the group to work together. After all, you're going to need at least one character to get better at hitting things as the game progresses. Otherwise, your band of adventurers is going to have a very short career.
That said, as much as I admire Raggi's design choice, I'm not about to force a first-time player into a class they don't want. But one of the wonderful things about OSR games is the ability to mix and match them until you arrive at just the right combination.
So, my options:
Beef up the Cleric, making him more of a spell casting pseudo-Paladin. Or maybe just use the Basic Fantasy Roleplaying Game version of the class, which includes an increase to attack bonuses and turn undead as a class ability.
Just go whole hog with Basic Fantasy Roleplaying, and separate Race and Class altogether. This gives the added bonus of allowing someone to play an elven thief, so there's some skill variation between the two.
However I do it, I'm still planning to use the LotFP encumbrance system, as well as swapping out the Specialist class for the Thief. I also plan to keep the D6-based skill check system.
Anyway, I'm rambling a bit here. The main thrust of this post is about a weird feature of Old-school D&D, and just how I'm planning to introduce it to a bunch of new players.
That's right. I'm talking about Vancian Magic.
I'll admit, I absolutely hated Vancian magic back in the day. I could never wrap my head around the "fire and forget" nature of the spells. How could a character spend hours studying a spell each day, only to forget it once it was cast?
It never made sense to me, and when I ran my games I used a house-ruled "mana" system instead. Granted, now that I've actually read some Jack Vance, my opinion on the matter has changed. And as in so many things, context is everything.
Part of the problem is that none of the more experienced guys in my old D&D group ever ran magic as anything other than a character's superpower. In every campaign, spells were widely known. You got access to spells automatically at new levels (no studying or finding a mentor), and there were mid-to-high level mages operating public shops in every jerkwater little village. Before every adventure, we could buy magic items, potions, and scrolls to our heart's content. I distinctly recall abandoning +1 Magic Swords when we found them on certain adventures, because they weren't even worth the effort of bringing them back to town to sell.
Tumblr media
Compare that to this passage from Vance's The Dying Earth:
"At one time a thousand or more runes, spells, incantations, curses, and sorceries had been known. The reach of Grand Motholam—Ascolais, the Ide of Kauchique, Almery to the South, the Land of the Falling Wall to the East—swarmed with sorcerers of every description, of whom the chief was the Arch-Necromancer Phandaal. A hundred spells Phandaal personally had formulated—though rumor said that demons whispered at his ear when he wrought magic. Ponticella the Pious, then ruler of Grand Motholam, put Phandaal to torment, and after a terrible night, he killed Phandaal and outlawed sorcery throughout the land. The wizards of Grand Motholam fled like beetles under strong light; the lore was dispersed and forgotten, until now, at this dim time, with the sun dark, wilderness obscuring Ascolais, and the white city Kaiin half in ruins, only a few more than a hundred spells remained to the knowledge of man. Of these, Mazirian had access to seventy-three, and gradually, by stratagem and negotiation, was securing the others.
"Mazirian made a selection from his books and with great effort, forced five spells upon his brain: Phandaal's Gyrator, Felojun's Second Hypnotic Spell, The Excellent Prismatic Spray, The Charm of Untiring Nourishment, and the Spell of the Omnipresent Sphere. This accomplished, Mazirian drank wine and retired to his couch."
In Vance's work, magic is mysterious, ancient, and virtually forgotten. Less than a tenth of the spells once known to humanity are left. Powerful wizards hoard them in hopes of getting one up on their rivals. Magic is the currency of power in this world, and great effort is spent to seek it out.
Furthermore, the spells themselves aren't passive. Mazirian has to force them into his brain. Once there, the syllables and symbols struggle to escape his consciousness. Casting a spell in these stories isn't so much a matter of reciting words as it is releasing a chaotic force, one the magician is just barely holding in check.
In this context, D&D's default "fire and forget" magic system makes sense. And while I can see why alternative spell systems are popular (like Sorcerers from the 3.X and later editions), there's a kind of pulpy weirdness to the Vancian method I really like.
As for introducing it to the players, I'm probably going to kill two birds with one stone here, once again taking some inspiration from Vance. I'm thinking about giving the party a mid-level Mage as their patron/employer. He'll pay them on a freelance basis for recovering bits of magic for him. He's looking for anything at all: half-torn scrolls, pages from spell books, items he can research. In his quest to re-discover lost spells, he's spent decades tracking down minuscule scraps of them to re-assemble like a jigsaw puzzle.
This also gives the PCs a specific reason to go dungeon delving, as well as reinforcing the overall mystery and rarity of magic. Plus it allows any magic-using PCs to have easy access to a mentor/teacher when it comes time to learn new spells.
Sure, the set up has the potential to be a little railroad-y. But also I think it can give the PC's a little bit of forward momentum, provided I let the adventures themselves evolve organically.
Hmm... I just might have to roll up a paranoid, power-hungry Wizard NPC along with the rest of the campaign splat.

👀 Do the mun and you get along?
👋  Do you and the mun agree on something?
🙏  Do you think the mun would be able to survive in your world?
✨  Does the mun read fanfictions and if yes, what is your opinion on them?
🎨  What are the mun’s hobbies?
🍨  What is the mun’s favorite ice cream flavour?
☀  Does the mun listen to you while writing or not?
💧 How often do you annoy the mun? And with what ?
🔥  How would you spend one day with the mun if you could?
☀  Does the mun have other muses beside you? What is your opinion on them?
Tumblr media
“We do! Well, I’ve made them go crazy during the game itself, but I know its the game mechanics they grumble at, not me. We both agreed on being very, very angry when the game glitched in my very first playthrough, and blocked me from Dorian romance. Thankfully, Chris had kept a save just before meeting Dorian, so they started over from back then, once they realized the game did that. If we speak of Thedas as the world of the question, it’s sort of... coin toss whether or not anyone can survive it. Wrong locations? Boom. Take your pick which explosion I speak of. Or, oh hello Darkspawn. And honestly, I would see them be a Mage, which... isn’t ideal. At all. Oh, they would be a great Mage, but well. They can survive Thedas, but I don’t want them anywhere near it. We don’t know what the next game will bring, either.”
“You know, so Allen replied about what they read the most, and I agree with Allen, its nice this happy ending and all the ways people write, and Wangxian is definitely Goals, but there is one thing we both wish we would see, and its more crossover. We did find a pretty nice DAI MDZS crossover recently, but it doesn’t expand into a long fic. I know Allen would love to see a DGM crossover with either DAI or MDZS, too. But in term of Chris taste of fanfic, I enjoy it, though I don’t have as much interest as Allen in them. Maybe because I’ve grown up pretty happy? ... Allen, don’t make those sad puppy eyes, you’re the one who made sure I had a great teenhood once we ended the War!”
“So Allen said gaming, I’ll be a little shit and say the obvious, roleplaying! They did miss it, though they don’t want to overwhelm themselves. But they deeply enjoy the unique brand of creativity and writing that comes from rping, we’re not alone in making the stories, and we really feel like we’re living them. As for ice cream, the one I’ll say is Vanilla!”
“As Allen explained, Chris truly get into this muse-headspace when they write, so they let us write, so to speak. It isn’t to say they won’t have delight when we get embarrassed, but yeah, we’re the one writing. I don’t think I annoy them, nothing comes to mind.”
“We would go to a forest, and I’d show them my magic. We would also explore, and I would be able to protect them, though I would prefer to have the day be without danger and stuff like that. I would love if we take time to explore Skyhold together, too. Maybe see a dragon, from afar.”
“Allen is like, my hero. I don’t even try to hide how much of a fanboy I am for my brother, I can’t. He’s so strong! And kind! He deserves all the good thing! As for Wei Wuxian, well, he got very curious about my magic, and he’s a genius, and we might have make something explore already. I mean... he makes stuff go boom when he’s trying things out, and my magic can go boom, so...”

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
Tumblr media
My muse is:   canon / oc / au (I have one AU which can be read here!) / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO.
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant to the main story?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant to the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO. (He’s a damn HERO!)
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. (ALL OF THE ABOVE >:D)
How strictly do you follow canon?
For me it’s a little weird since I originally intended this blog to be just about Sephiroth from Crisis Core to FF7 and Remake. But as I grew around the blog and began writing with more people, I felt the need to just fill in all of the blank canvas that was Sephiroth’s past. So I guess you could say I do follow canon to a certain extent? But 55% of my stuff is not considered canon and are just things I’ve added to add a little spice to my son! But yeah, canon wise I follow Remake as my main verse which considering the theories may just be the same Sephiroth we’ve known for the last 20 years.
(Placing under a cut from here on out, I don’t want to make your dash messy)
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutual.
Okay, I don’t know how long this is gonna be but I hope I can get through all of the topics I wanna talk about without looking like I’m waffling. Firstly, a lot of people seem to forget that Sephiroth wasn’t just a monster, Messiah Complex psycho. Before his downfall, he is shown to be a kind hearted and gentle warrior, he had a heart and had support from his friends throughout the entirety of his military career. He was genuinely happy.
If you’ve seen the clips of him in Crisis Core, I want you to pay close attention to Sephiroth’s facial expressions before Nibelheim. He has a natural smile, he’s calmer and more relaxed, his face is clean and no bags at all underneath his eyes and his hair is more well kept and tidy compared to his more deranged and haggard look in Remake. He tells Zack to take care and genuinely treats him as if he’s known him for years once they get close. Sephiroth clings onto his allies as if they were his own family.
There are so many factors to consider when it comes to Sephiroth’s eventual descent into madness, it wasn’t just the books and reports underneath ShinRa Manor that drove him insane. While it played the biggest major factor in it all, other events still have to be considered.
Genesis who became an actual IDIOT of a person tells Sephiroth that he was a monster. A man that he saw as his older brother, a close friend and comrade swooping in with the intention of using Sephiroth just to heal his degrading body asks for his help but not before legitimately TEARING into Sephiroth’s birth. It was insulting and incredibly disrespectful seeming as at that point Seph had already seen the failed experiements and JENOVA’s chamber. It all came in a huge wave all at once, and the ShinRa Manor discovery only served to be the final nail in the coffin. His entire life, a mere lie.
When he goes insane, he’s ruthless. He’s scathing. What remains of the old Sephiroth can only be seen from his brute strength and his skills with a blade. He will end you if you even so thought about trying to stop or question his ideals but not before toying with you mentally.  He will break you, one way or another and he won’t stop until you are either.
It is honestly one of the most heartbreaking things watching a good man who appeared to be fine physically, but mentally was so incredibly fragile. Deep down, he always felt detached from people even with the friends that he made. He tried so hard, but his mind was weaker than his body. He was consumed by Rage and an eldritch monstrosity whispering things in his ear.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).
Maybe the tragic villain is something that’s played out too often? It’s definitely a trope that’s used quite a lot in media and Final Fantasy is no stranger in using it a lot in most of the main line games. Maybe people wanted more from Sephiroth that he just didn’t have character wise.
I don’t know, I just feel as if some people might not like his motivations. I put it down as his mental state being so damaged from all the wars, the loss of his friends, and the cold hearted reality of his origins drove him insane but surely his rage could’ve been diverted to the true culprits which was just ShinRa?  For someone so strong why did he succumb so easily? Did Nibelheim really have to be burnt down? Could he have been sensible about it? Probably. But his mental psyche was utterly destroyed.
What inspired you to rp your muse?
My inspiration to play this muse honestly stems from my love for roleplaying villains. Sephiroth in this case was quite a unique specimen because of how many paths you could take your portrayal in. This character is easily one of the most complex I’ve written mainly because he’s two characters in one and both Sephiroth’s before and after Nibelheim are completely different. I honestly love the contrast. Like I’ve always wanted to muse him, but anxiety and worry that I wouldn’t be good at portraying him really took a dampener on my wish. Until now.
I love Sephiroth so much, everything about him just gels well with me. I get to write a hero and a villain. A kind hearted man and a psychopath. I get the best of both worlds. He’s such a flawed and tragic character and I just love exploring his psyche.
What keeps your inspiration going?
I have a playlist dedicated to Sephiroth that I smetimes listen too when I’m writing, I always try to rewatch particular scenes from specific games that he’s involved in to get into the muse. For example, pre Nibelheim I watch the Genesis vs Sephiroth vs Angeal fight and post Nibelheim I watch scenes from Remake. I also like to look up art and musings for Sephiroth, it definitely keeps the muse chuggin’!
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO. (According to my mutuals and friends ;u;)
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO.
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO.
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO. (Sometimes I doubt myself, it honestly depends. These feelings can be pretty sporadic)
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. (Same reason as above)
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO.
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?
I always accept criticism if it’s constructive, I will always ask for it when needed because I really do want to improve and make sure that my portrayal is as perfect as possible, but if you come to me spouting hate about the way I portay the character please don’t. Respect my portrayal, critique where applicable.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?
100% yes. Send development questions at me, I love them.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?
You are entitled to your opinion. I don’t care if you disagree with my headcanons, I don’t care if you disagree with my ships. I am here to have fun, and my intentions are for you to have fun with me. But if said person disagrees, why bother following me or reading my stuff? The door is open for you to leave, you can find another Sephiroth that appeases you.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?
A similar answer to the one above. My portrayal is my own, and I am proud of what I have achieved so far and the interactions I’ve had, and the ships that I have planned out on here. I love it so much and if they disagree with that, then they can unfollow me. Hell, if they want too, block me. They’re entitled to their opinion as long as they don’t flaunt it around. Just don’t be a dick about it tbh?
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it
More power to them, hate Sephiroth all you want I won’t indulge these petty arguments about how Kefka was a better villain. I’m just gonna slurp on the salty tears and relax while writing about my favourite heartless boy.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?
I am always okay. I have a habit of never proof reading my stuff before I send it so my grammar is all wnky and over the place. I always want to improve as a writer and continue to grow as one, we can do this together should you wish <3
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?
I like to think I’m very easy going, I’m quite a shitlord when talking OOC. If you don’t mind me thirsting over my muse than we’ll get along just fine. I’m perfectly open for chats and whatnot, I’m a good listener. Sometimes I do end up being pretty clingy though, soooo... Let me give you hugs all the time.
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

Note
I am getting a bit tired of this. I am other/fiction kin and I use it as a way to cope with depression and anxiety. I'm 16 and will be 17 later this year. I been mocked by an EX friend who was older than me for choosing a life style. Saying it was "cancer" and that I need "help". They blocked me. It's hurtful, because my life has been rather dark, grim and unhappy. I always been rather downhearted, and tend to make gashes on my face or arms due to it... advise?
Hey,
we apologize for the late answer, how have you been doing since you send us this message?
I am honest with you, I have my opinion on otherkin and fictionkin and it’s rather ambivalent and it really depends on the individual and their situation. But all in all I have nothing against it. Just so you are aware of this, but please remember this is just my opinion and my opinion should not matter to you too much. I am just one out of a million and more people.
Let’s start with your former friend. I am really sorry that they hurt you so much, this is not okay, this is not fair of them and they are clearly not aware of how badly words can hurt someone. Don’t listen to their words. Just like I said before, one person out of so many other peple, their opinion should not matter to you, there are so many people out their who love you and will love you for who you are. There will always be people in our lives that try to make us down, but there will be people who will love us unconditionally as well.
That brings me to my next point, all of us will meet people who will make us down for something, for something and it doesn’t even matter what. People will use the weirdest reasons to excuse their behaviour. If someone does something different than they do, they make them down. If someone doesn’t like what they do, they will make them down. If someone deals with something they have no experience with, they will make them down. Someone could not like the colour green and get called annoying for that. Someone could make a cake different than someone else and they called stupid for that. Someone could suffer from a mental disorder that someone else has no experience with and they get called a psycho. Someone could not like the band someone else does and gets called a loser.
My point is, it doesn’t matter how ridiculous the reason seems, people will always find something that annoys them and they will make someone else down. Why do they do it? Most likely because they have problems on their own, because they are desperate, because they hurt others to cope with their feelings, because they just don’t understand the other person.
You are not cancer and we all need help with things. But I think you need help with your depression and anxiety, not for using otherkin and fictionkin as a way to cope with it. Which brings me to the next point. Are you harming someone with being otherkin or fictionkin? No. Is this helping you to deal with negative emotions? Yes. So why the hell should you stop with it or change it? You seem aware of the fact why you do this and that you are actually a human, not a dragon, a wolf or a fictional character. Here is where my personal opinion comes in, as long as it helps someone to deal with things, a long as it makes someone feel good, as long as they are still aware of the reality, everything is cool. However I talked to people where this got out of hand and they were not aware of reality anymore and of how things really are and that is where I say they need help. But even then, who am I to judge, if they are happy with how things are and no other people get harmed with it, why should they change something? Just because I say so or someone else? No.
That is a topic I could probably talk about forever, but before this reply gets way to long I will stop right here. I think I made my point clear and I hope you understand what I mean.
Back to your former friend, don’t listen to them, you are lovable, you are amazing, you are beautiful, you are important, you deserve to be happy and alive.
There is something else that I would like to talk about. You said that because of all the things happening in your life you harm yourself.
I know that harming yourself seems like a way to cope with negative feelings, but it is not. It may help for a short moment, but after that you will feel like you messed up and you won’t feel good about this at all. Self harm only causes more problems and makes life harder than it already is.
There are better ways to cope, ways that are healthier and will help you so much better over a long period of time. Learning these ways may not be easy, you will fall back into old habits, you will feel like the new ways don’t actually help, but they need practice. A lot of practice. You will get used to them in time, you will see them help in time, you will find the right things to do in time. Keep trying, even if it’s a long and hard way.
Depending on how strong the urge to harm yourself is, you can try different things. The stronger the urge, the more things you should do in a row for the urge to stop.
Let’s start with a small urge to harm yourself. When you feel that, you should try to distract yourself, usually that will make the urge go away so that you can think clear again. Here are some ideas what you can do.
•  Listen to music or sounds of the nature•  Sing•  Play instruments or learn a new instrument•  Watch a funny movie•  Read a book•  Paint•  Draw•  Paint your nails•  Go out for a walk•  Listen to the sound it makes when you walk over stones or leaves•  Write down your feelings or good memories•  Make some origami•  Call or skype with a friend•  Dress up or try on old clothes•  Write creatively•  Talk to someone•  Do some sport•  Eat or drink something delicious•  Do some baking•  Make funny faces in a mirror and take pictures•  Read inspirational speeches• Learn a magic trick •  Mess up your room•  Watch some videos on Youtube•  Clean your room•  Learn something new like knitting or how to make a Tumblr theme •  Go to the zoo and name all of the animals•  Jump up and down, do rope jumping, or jump on a trampoline or your bed•  Meditate or do some Yoga•  Play a game•  Go shopping•  Recite a favourite monologue•  Watch the sky•  Do a puzzle, crossword or sudoku•  Meet up with friends•  Sleep •  Do your homework•  Watch your favourite TV program/show•  Make up a roleplay about something you’d like to happen•  Play with a pet•  Have a bath or a shower •  Make a scrapbook•  Decorate your wall with inspirational quotes•  Dance around your room like an idiot•  Make a new Tumblr blog•  Color your hair•  Leave nice messages in someone’s askbox•  Take some pretty pictures outside•  Get your friends and family and play board games •  Tie a small string or a rope into knots •  Make a tiny gift for your best friend •  Make a bucket list •  Smile to at least 5 people, bonus points if they are strangers •  Go out and perform one act of kindness •  Watch how the wind makes the leaves of the trees move. •  Do volunteer work •  Give your blog a makeover •  Write a letter to a friend •  Donate all the clothes you don’t like anymore •  Go to a park and sit on the swings, be a little kid again •  Plan your outfits for the week •  Give someone a hug •  Simply relax, and enjoy your life
Here are websites to distract yourself.
• The Quiet Place • Relax Exercise • Thouhts Room • Dawn Room • Pixel Thoughts 60 Seconds Relaxation• Emotional Baggage Check• Automatic Flatterer • Silk• Neon Flames • Painting• Sand• Stickman• Koala Mosaic• Sunshine and Rain• Rainy Mood• Mood Turn• Magic Button• Secret Door• Geo Guesser• Make some Music• Soundrown• The Colour Game• The Universe• Free Rice• Watch A Dream• Imagination• Make Music With Circles• Make Music With ToneMatrix• Fatal to the Flesh (Trigger Warning)• Play Super Mario• Cute Online Games
Try out a few things and see what helps you the best. Once you found things that help you, write them down, keep these things close to you in a box or something so you can do them right away when you feel like harming yourself.
If the urge gets stronger and simple distractions don’t help anymore, try to do things that help you to get out your emotions like anger, sadness, fear or guilt. Here are some things you can do.
• Scream really loud into a pillow• Let yourself cry• Go to an open space and shout all the things you hate right now• Scribble on photos of people in magazines• Tear apart newspapers, photos, or magazines• Throw a ball/stone/ice cube etc. against a wall• Listen to music and sing along loudly• Beat up a stuffed animal or a pillow• Blow up balloons and pop them• Build a fort of pillows and then destroy it• On a sketch or photo of yourself, mark in red ink what you want to do;cut and tear the picture• Write your feelings on paper, then rip it up or burn it• Make a soft cloth doll to represent the things you are angry at;cut and tear it instead of yourself• Break sticks or old things you don’t need anymore• Cut up fruits• Pull weeds in the garden• Put on nail polish, then peel it off• Splash your face with cold water• Slash an empty plastic soda bottle, or a piece of heavy cardboard, or an old shirt or sock• Instead of punishing yourself by self-harming, punish yourself by not self-harming •The Butterfly Project: Draw a butterfly on the place(s), where you would like to harm yourself. If the butterfly fades without self-harming, it means it has lived and flown away,it’s like giving a sense or feeling of achievement.Whereas if you do harm yourself with the butterfly there, you killed to butterfly. If that does happen, you can start again by drawing a new one on.You are not allowed to wash of the butterfly, it has to fade on its own.You can also name the butterfly after someone you love.•Think of a loved one [a friend, family member, or anyone else who cares about you]and write their name on the place(s) where you want to harm yourself. When you want to harm yourself, remember how much they careand how they wouldn’t want you, to harm yourself.• Talk to someone about how you feel• Create a safe place to go• Try to imagine the future and plan things, you want to do• Make a list of all the positive things in your life• List all the reasons, why you don’t want to harm yourself• Remember why you want to recover
Try out as many things and possible and try to figure out what helps you the most. Once you did this, keep the things that help you on a list or keep them in a box close to you, so that you have access to them right away. When you feel a stronger urge coming, do 1-2 things of the stuff named above and then distract yourself with 1-2 of the listed distractions.
When you get a really, really bad urge to harm yourself, try alternatives to harming yourself. These will either trick your brain into thinking there is blood when there is no real blood, or by making yourself feel something. Doing some of the alternatives, you can even feel some kind of pain, but it doesn’t harm you in a bad way. Here are some examples.
• Draw red lines on the places you want to cut, or use red watercolor, and put it on the place where you want to cut; it will look like it’s bleeding• Viciously stab an orange or an apple• Eat something really sour• Do sport, like running, strength training, jumping on a trampoline, dancing etc., until you are completely exhausted• Take a hot/cold shower or bath• Drink freezing cold water• Wax your legs or plug your eyebrows• Bite into a hot pepper or chew a piece of ginger root• Rub ice across your skin, where you want to harm yourself,or hold it in your hands• Put rubber bands on wrists, arms, or legs and snap them
Like with the things before, try them out and see what helps you the most. Make sure you have fast access to them. When you feel this really strong urge, start for example with a cold shower, then scream into a pillow or tear apart paper, and then distract yourself with something.
Make sure to write the things that help you down, so you don’t have to start thinking about what to do with yourself everytime you get the urge to self harm.
If you feel like you cannot deal with all of this on your own, please reach out for help. There are people out there able and willing to help you.
Take care of yourself!
- Belle

Rules of the Account
I apologize sincerely ahead of time for the length but I want to get EVERYTHING out of the way so there are no problems or drama in the future. I want to get every contention down long before it has a chance to become a problem so as to avoid being swept up in some flame war. Please do not be intimidated I’m actually significantly more lenient than it might seem I just want to try and make sure nothing ever explodes into drama wars, I hate drama, love people, and like civil discussion. I also do not assume prior roleplay experience so there’s a handful of details you probably already know, sorry about that. Thank you so much for your time, it is the most valuable thing and I am so grateful you are spending it on me. I look forward to our interactions.
Basic Outline of the Account
I am willing to see if absolutely any character what so ever will work. I am multiverse, multistory, and, as incredibly uncommon as it is to actually succeed in someone achieving this with Ganondorf, multiship. This means that any events in one roleplay or story will have no direct affect on another beyond if it influences the perception of the admin on how to roleplay Ganondorf. As I will go into in more detail later this is not an account where I tag triggers unless to a far extreme in specific areas, namely incest or rape (there may still be implication or reference to events of these things that go untagged but if going into any sort of detail beyond a general inference I will tag it), and as such take this as your warning, Ganondorf is a very violent character when he is set to the situation and I feel that if I tag acts of violence it would damage the portrayal as well as that I would have a tendency to forget to tag them, further studies have shown trigger warnings have been more harmful than helpful to those with actual mental scars in the healing process so I just don’t agree with them. I do not require full out careful writing to the quality of Lovecraft or Shakespeare, I do, however, need something of substance and decent detail usually. I am willing to help any newbies though and I can help with some pointers. Do note the quality and effort of my roleplays usually depends at least somewhat on how much detail I am given and the quality of my partner so the more you put in the better I can put out, after all roleplaying is a partnership and a bit like improvising so we all rely on one another in it. Absolutely anyone can send me any memes from any account, though if we haven’t interacted before and it deals with me judging a character expect me to pop up in messaging before I properly answer, especially so if it’s not a Legend of Zelda profile. Similarly any roleplayer at all can approach me with an idea and I am fully open to discuss anything in messaging for any possible setup for a roleplay. PLEASE feel completely free to contact me through messaging for any clarifications or anything, my messaging is public for a reason. Every meme I’ve ever posted is always open for anyone to send at any point and just about any serious question can be sent to messaging or askbox, just be sure to tell me which one it was if it’s an old one and preferably send me a link, messaging is fine for the link. I am happy to receive constructive criticism and I do not at all mind reminders as Tumblr might have eaten the notification or I may have forgotten as I do not have the most pristine memory. If I seem to be avoiding yours I either missed it or need some extra time to consider how to answer it, sometimes the ones in my drafts the longest are the ones I most care about, sometimes I just need a spark to really piece together my answer.
I take magic anons though may be fairly selective on which I will actually RP and won’t play them to be constant through some period of time but more so reliant on the RPs and interaction based around the M/A.
Note: I will never show private messages, even if we have a complete fall out and hate one another you are free to message me anything but porn, slander, or call out requests and I will gladly listen and converse. I despise call out culture and the mob mentality that it comes with. I am not vengeful so feel free to speak openly. I am also not a person who will block anyone without exhausting every other option, I want to solve things and improve.
Oh also my writing style is heavily inspired by Lovecraft so there might occasionally be some antediluvian words in there. If you have an issue and want me to avoid words like squamous and gibbous just send me a message. They have a certain impact and tone, an ancient air to them that I like to use for Ganondorf but I completely understand not wanting to deal with such an old diction. If you need some clarification on a word rather than full aversion just message me about that word.
General Rules of the Account, Interaction and General Behavior
1: PLEASE SETTLE ISSUES WITH ME IN PRIVATE. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PLEASE DO NOT REBLOG BUT MESSAGE ME. REBLOGGING JUST MAKES MORE PROBLEMS FOR EVERYONE AND DRAMA IS ANNOYING AND SHITTY. THERE IS NO NEED TO MAKE PRIVATE DISPUTES INTO SOME PUBLIC SPECTACLE. IT CREATES MORE PROBLEMS WITH MORE PEOPLE AND IS BAD FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED. IT USUALLY JUST BECOMES A CLUSTERFUCK OF PEOPLE INSULTING EACH OTHER WHERE NOTHING GETS SOLVED AND THEN BLOCKS FOR EVERYONE. I LIKE SOLUTIONS, NOT LYNCH MOBS, NOT BLOCKING, BUT TO SOLVE OUR DIFFERENCES. THIS IS THE ALL-ENCOMPASSING RULE. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL COME TO ME POLITELY AND I WILL GLADLY TALK IT OVER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
2: Do not feel uncomfortable to message me unless you are coming purely to insult me constantly. NOTE: CRITICISM DOES NOT EQUAL INSULT, I REALLY LIKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM BECAUSE IT MAKES ME BETTER FROM THAT POINT ON. I HAVE IMPROVED IMMENSELY DUE TO IT. LET ME KNOW WHEN I SCREW UP. I am always open to talk about any problems you are having, anything wrong with myself, and I will try to be as accommodating as I can without compromising my own enjoyment.
3: This is only a rule because many people do it on this site and it got to the point I was getting stressed out, angry, and hostile on an account that is meant for entertainment, relaxation, and socializing purposes after making my views known just once. Sorry if this comes out as a bit of a rant, I just want to avoid all of the drama that it caused, that’s pretty much why half of these rules exist. Please do not just come here to belittle and contort my opinions, to conflate my views with things I do not agree with at all, or to twist how I portray Ganondorf into something that is somehow related to looking down on real life people especially when it’s canon parts of the Gerudo culture and for using multiple other cultures as inspiration in my portrayal of a fictional society. If you want to talk my character, my headcanons, even politics or anything else in a respectful way or have rational criticism of it I am always open to such discussion through private messaging system, I probably greatly disagree with you in many areas but even on extreme accusations if approached respectfully I’ll talk on it. Try to be tolerant of people with reasonable but differing views. I’m a debater by nature and I enjoy such talk, but if all you want is to be disrespectful, insulting, and condescending then please do leave. I hold strongly to principles of individual rights and the principle of free speech and try to be as welcoming as I can without hurting my own enjoyment and violating my values. I ask for simple decency and hold strong to the idea all people of all ideologies, no matter how stupid or intelligent, are free to speak their opinion, including to hate and belittle me. I just don’t have to listen and mockery is just as free game. This will only be brought up when absolutely necessary due to the context of something sent to me or in the comments of a post dealing with these topics, I will not actively post anything political anywhere on here. Also do not think disagreements mean that a friendship is impossible. I can be friends with people of most opinions and views even if directly conflicted on some very serious personal values.
4: Do not insult me behind my back please. Seriously, don’t do it. If you are going to insult me, at least have the courage to do it in front of me and give me that decency. I truly despise being talked about behind my back and it instantly destroys any trust I have if I find out, this relates to something that happened back when I was about 13 or 14 that was rather dramatic and very painful in my life. It is something that crushes every a single bit of trust I have. I work to not do it to anyone so please don’t do it to me, it will likely destroy the possibility of anything more than distant acquaintance if I learn about it. If you have a problem, again, just say so to me and I will seek ways to improve.
5: I’m truly and honestly sorry, I apologize, but due to religious and personal reasons I am not able to call someone by anything other than he or she in my discussions. I can learn your name and always use that instead if preferred. It just feels completely contrary to my beliefs, my religious faith, and it makes me feel like I’m dehumanizing a person because it feels like I’m describing an object and that makes me feel absolutely horrible in my gut. I think of everyone, the worst and best of humanity, is made of the same flesh and blood as me no matter. They are all human beings and should be thought of as such, not faceless monsters but humans, the worst are not worth the effort of hating, but pity, for they are truly pitiful people. That is a policy I have and I will respect your beliefs in this, please respect mine. I have respect of whatever you want to be identified as and believe even if I disagree, just have respect of what I want and believe as well. Call it selfish if you wish but I can’t bring myself to do it and feel right about it. It’s a mental tick that grates really badly on my conscience. I can refer to you by name however and avoid pronouns altogether.
6: If you have any general problems with me, my portrayal, or anything at all discuss it in messaging and I will gladly talk it out. I am an adult, I can handle complaints like an adult, and if they are legitimate complaints I will change accordingly. Again, make it a PRIVATE conversation. There is no point in dragging these things out into the public, I won’t do it to you, don’t do it to me. It just makes the problem worse for everyone. I know I keep bringing it up but it’s important above all else in my rules.
7: I don’t use trigger warnings on violence or gore unless it is a graphic picture, which I have never posted, though sexual writing will usually be tagged NSFW. My account will have descriptive gore in its writing, it will describe mangled bodies and twisted corpses. Violence in my writing will not have trigger warnings, so take this as your warning. I do not back away from depicting gore and actually enjoy describing a bloody mess, even if in real life I can barely look at other people’s blood without entering a bit of a panic. If you find things like this hard to read that’s fine but this may not be the right blog for you. I tackle many dark themes. Extremely sexual things such as actual intercourse, however, will almost always have a read more break and an NSFW tag if I even post anything of the sort (I’m not a fan of detailed sex). Descriptive, gory violence occurs suddenly and without warning at times with this portrayal. This is your warning for the profile, I won’t warn you of when Ganondorf is about to tear something apart beyond maybe some plotting if necessary, he simply will do it. I would feel like I was discrediting him otherwise as it’s important in writing to get the full impact of what he is doing. Passing mentions of other seriously dark issues will not be tagged, but anything detailed that is sent in detailing subjects similar to rape, incest, or other similar actions will be tagged and likely beneath a cut. Note: My characters do not ever engage in any of those types of actions.
8: There be spoilers here, there’s not a whole lot to spoil in Zelda as most twists are really obvious but if you want to avoid them then you may want to seek another. I personally rarely give a shit about spoilers. Also I swear pretty passively when relaxed and not around family so be aware of that if you haven’.t noticed yet
9: Do not use art I create without giving credit, I would also appreciate you confirming that it is okay with me first though if you’re using any of it, though I really doubt I will ever need to enact this rule.
10: Recognize that my character and myself are two separate entities, just because I write something does not mean I approve of it. I have written things that disgust me, but I write them because they are part of the story. Writing about the snapping of bones actually does create some kind of cringe reaction in me, something about compound fractures makes me react even in written form, but I’ll still write it because I want to be descriptive and I do enjoy writing gore, even though if I see another person’s injury I can barely stand the sight of it in person.
11: While I do care about others I do not want other people demanding I change how I speak and act. Come courteously and I will gladly and calmly talk it out. Follow my rules.
12: Every time something happens that causes a rift, I will want to discuss it before actions are taken. I can get passionate about things especially when I’m distressed, agitated, and have been going without sleep. It’s a flaw, I know, and I cannot possibly express how sincerely sorry I am for it in words. I want to work things out with everyone as much as possible. Please, I want to be understanding and empathetic, but that goes two ways, I’m not perfect as shown by some of the other rules so please be a bit understanding here. I fail, I break, and I do stupid shit that gets me in trouble, just give me an opportunity to make it up and get better if I ever do.
Roleplay Specific
1: If you are going to drop an RP with me please let me know so that I don’t keep bothering you trying to ensure we are still in contact or looking back at it. Send me a message notifying me that you are dropping the RP. I’m a person who thinks about RPs between turns and tries to get a general outline for the next one so the sooner I know it’s dropped the better. So many people have broke this rule.
2: If you have an idea for a full and proper roleplay setup it’s best to contact me before sending me an RP. I will accept RPs without the discussion if they are well made and make sense for Ganondorf but I like to be able to talk things out a bit and know you are going to be making an RP with me before you create it. Make sure it works for my character and such so that it’s worked out before posting.
3: I am unlikely to RP situations that Ganondorf would never be in nor will I generally RP with people who do not have enough detail. Now that is not saying I’m snobbish just basic detail. For example, I’ve had people go essentially “I dodge and stab you to death” without any explanation, any chance to respond, or even having any of the proper tools to actually harm Ganondorf. I’m much less likely to want to RP with people who go “I attack” but anyone of any level can approach, just expect similar quality or asks for clarifications and the very possible drop if it simply becomes too arbitrary, though I will talk in messaging with you before hand.
4: Do not tell me how to run my character. If you have a disagreement with me on my portrayal feel free to discuss it with me in chat but don’t demand me to change my ideas and my opinions. This is a heavily personalized take on the character focusing on a realistic portrayal based on the psyches and justifications of historical figures both horrible and great, building a uniquely Ganondorf psyche inspired by them while remaining loyal to the version given by Legend of Zelda. If you see an issue with my portrayal please do tell me, I like constructive criticism, but don’t demand it.
5: Romance can occur but it will rely on some at the very least basic chemistry and Ganondorf is a man who is not very sexually active and is extremely picky, do not expect if you try to approach Ganondorf as a date that he will even consider you worth his time to speak with. Do not expect Ganondorf to be kind and caring about your character. Do not expect Ganondorf to like your character or engage in anything with it. He is not your friend. He is not your buddy. He is Ganondorf and he has no hesitations about breaking your bones if you push too far. He will behave as he behaves in my portrayal not as you want him to behave. I’ve made occasional AUs to work with good friends that adjust his personality but this is very rare and very specific. I don’t do ships often and only in the most specific circumstances, it has to come naturally and it has to fit Ganondorf’s character at least roughly, and though I’ve made some exceptions those are very rare and usually in PM variants of RP, it is a very difficult task to meet. Even then, he’s not the most affectionate of lovers, he’s distant, possessive, and aggressive. His main reason for a relationship is children rather than any partnership so it will not often be a merry match made in heaven. For romantic RP no one under 18 please. No minors. Feel free to RP anything with me but romantic stuff if you’re a minor. It’s just uncomfortable for everyone and can cause legal problems.
6: If we go into a serious combat RP I usually expect some basic understanding of how weapons and armor work and a basic grasp of military strategy. Not mastery or having read through all of The War As I Knew It or anything just some basic knowledge on the purpose and operation of the weapon your character uses and how it reacts and how armor behaves in actual combat. This isn’t a big rule it’s just a pet peeve of mine.
7: Please, no godmodding, powerplaying, auto-hitting (do not decide for me what strikes me, I will decide how my character reacts and how it strikes, if you feel I am being unfair contact me), auto-dodging (you can’t just go “I dodge” forever and ignore every attack unless there is a good lore reason for it), metagaming, or retconning. These are standard rules of roleplay that most accounts include in one way or another, often not even bothering to label them and are better described in the attached graphic. If you made a mistake and want to take something back I’m perfectly open to discussing it but don’t get upset if I say no, I have never actually said no but don’t get angry about any disagreements.

🔥
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion
Forcing things onto other people. Let me be more elaborate in this case:- same sex relationships. I do not mind them. How can I, especially if I like both genders myself with a strong pull towards women specifically, right??? But the thing is that sometimes it seems that they are so forced, you know? I’ve seen characters from books, movies and games who are directly stated as straight, they have families, children etc, but fandom still desires to see them as gay/lesbians. Of course you can discover at some point that you do not like your husband/wife, go out and have an affair, but when it is evident that the same character is happy with their partner, why would they do that? I do no want people to take this as a personal attack towards anyone, it is just my own personal issue to follow things by the book and not bend and break the character unless there is almost little to no information revealed and I can give them my own development, you know? The fact that they are dating a person of same sex does not immediately make them any better or worse. - hating! Oh dear, I’ve seen people get so much hate on their ships. Why? Why do people assume that since the ship is popular, it must be canon when it is (sometimes) not even confirmed? People get death threats, angry anons etc. because of a fictional couple just because they imagine their own representation of a character as straight/gay. Give them a break, will you??? They might be going through some hard time IRL and now you are throwing some shit at them in a place where they come to relax and have fun. - And finally forcing the ships on others. It is strongly linked to the last point. DO.NOT.FORCE.YOUR.SHIPS.ON.ANYONE. Every human being has their own preference. If they roleplay as someone, they have the representation of their character in their head and they know better what they want to do with them. Just because you think that one or another popular ship is cute does not mean you should bug them about on a constant basis, not leaving them any room to breathe. Just chill. Overall we need to keep in mind that tumblr is only a part of your life and an aspect of virtual reality. If there is any type of negativity that affects any of you, turn off that anon button, block those who fill your dash with negative vibes and do what you came here for: enjoy your stay.

Black Lightning Strikes Truth — Running Great Superhero Games
*Black Lightning: My Man!
Today’s guest article is by Chris Spivey, talking about how the TV show Black Lightning makes fertile ground for a great superhero game and how to run one. Chris is the award winning author of Harlem Unbound and is currently working on an un-named superhero game for Chaosium. – Head gnome John
Considering the second season is airing any day now, I am coming to this retrospective and exploration later than most. The show spoke to me in a similar intensity, if not manner, as Black Panther did. That feeling made me consider staying in a quiet(ish) mood, keeping my overall thoughts and perceived implications of the show to myself rather than with the world. But my mind kept coming back to this show—its vision of superheroes, world building, relationship dynamics— and how it lined up with so many of my thoughts related to superhero gaming. A number of the beats have appeared in my superhero campaigns.
What changed my mind? Someone told me they don’t know why we need Black Lightning if we have Luke Cage. My first thought was, “What kind of logic is that?” If we all believed that, then we don’t need Arrow, The Flash, Daredevil, Punisher and especially not Ironfist. But each of those shows is telling a different story with a different lead, (mostly) addressing issues differently. If anything, we need more shows like Black Lightning, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Agent Carter (we miss you, Peggy). I am still rallying for Photon, Blue Marvel, and Ms. Marvel. Hearing that comment solidified my need to share my thoughts about the show and how gamers can add the essence of the show to their own supers game.
A Brief History of the Superhero Genre
We can’t talk about superhero comics-related media without touching on the comic ages. Anything I write about superheroes has to include their importance and impact on society, each age reflecting society at the time:
The Golden Age (1938–1950ish) ― Coming out of the Great Depression, America was looking for light entertainment and a diversion from reality and found it in Superman! The Kryptonian boy scout jump-started the age, surpassing his masked predecessors, and his success solidified the comic industry. The wave rode into World War II with heroes shifting to patriotic themes and providing moral support for troops and people back home. The superheroes frequently fought gangsters, supervillains, crooked politicians, and Fifth Columnists.
The Silver Age (1956ish–1970) ― The Silver Age moved towards more science-based superheroes rather than magical ones of the previous age. The idea of superheroes on teams with constant bantering, bickering, and facing greater challenges sold in droves; such teams as the Justice League, the Fantastic Four, the Legion of Super-Heroes, and X-Men were hot items.
The Bronze Age (1970–1985) ― Comics became more complex, lost the frivolity of the Silver Age, and evolved into what they were meant to be: a mirror for society. Comics became a voice to those without a voice, a chance to inspire as they did in the Golden Age but with more modern values and diversity. There were too many issues plaguing the world to ignore: street riots, the Vietnam War, a corrupt law and order system, and drugs. This exponential increase minority superheroes with the likes of Luke Cage (the first black superhero to have his own comic book), Shang-Chi, and Storm.
The Modern Age (1985–Now) ―  This could easily be broken down into two or three new ages; building on the concept of social issues and complexity led to a desire for grim and more adult-themed comics. Independent comic publishers were able to establish themselves as power players in the market, such as Image Comics, Milestone Comics, and Dark Horse Comics. These independent comics could do things that the larger companies couldn’t, as they did not need to hold a middle ground of ideas to keep their fanbase.
The Skinny Upfront
Black Lightning is one of the best DCTV superhero shows (heck, just any television series) airing, in my opinion, with Arrow as a distant second. There you go, I said and stand by it. Netflix/Marvel’s Luke Cage is excellent but a very different show with a different vision that is a different discussion. The characters are well developed, the story moves at a solid clip, and the cast is engaging. All of that makes it a great show and fertile ground for superhero roleplaying game ideas. It does not reinvent the superhero genre or even attempt to, and Black Lightning does something better…it elevates the bar.
One of the show’s primary focuses is on what superhero comics were meant to do ever since the first pages of Action Comics #1 in the Golden Age, and more solidly addressed in  the Bronze age of comics: hold a mirror up to society exposing the ugly truths while holding us to a higher ideal through our superhero avatars.  This has been done to varying degrees of success since its inception and when it is done, it is frequently whitewashed. The X-Men are a perfect example of this, being an analogy of the civil rights movements with some people casting Professor X as Martin Luther King and Magneto as Malcolm X, and the mutants representing African Americans. And yet they are primarily all white, even in today’s incarnation. The analog has continued to evolve with the times to include those in the LGBTQ community and more, but the characters are still principally cis, white, and usually male.
Black Lightning’s creation had the other DCTV shows attempt to address social issues with baby steps. For instance, Super Girl’s Jimmy Olsen’s, a black hero, needing to decide if he should come forward to show a black man can be a hero. In those shows,  all of the people of color are sidekicks, their struggles barely acknowledged, and their stories are quickly wrapped up before the end of the episode. This show casts people of color as the primary protagonist and integrates the struggle into their daily lives making it a near-perfect superhero tale for television or the gaming table, balancing real life with the responsibility and repercussions of superheroics.
Relationship Diversity
The show focuses on community—on family and friends—by placing them all into the central plot of making their city a better place; they are pillars of the story.
The reason this show speaks to me so much: I am an educated black man of a certain age raising a daughter in our dangerous world.  I endure racism, being targeted by the police, and the crushing weight of depression from the current administration politics. To see a strong realistic African American family battling the same issues I do daily is uplifting and inspiring. At its core, that is what superheroes are supposed to do. They inspire us, make us want to be better, and are a reflection of our lives.
That spark of inspiration is something that can be reflected in a game. It may seem small but it establishes the player characters in the world and reinforces that their actions have positive consequences. So many games focus on the damage the superhero battle inflicts on the city, which should also be considered, but they don’t highlight the “civilians” cheering them on. For Black Lightning, they can be found in the random doorman that opens the door for him and praises his work before a battle. Those moments tie the supers more strongly into the world. They can even translate into a minor mechanical bonus to hit or dodge, or a Sanity bump.
Bringing it to the Gaming Table — A Template for Assessing your Superhero Game
How does any of this help you run a superhero game? How do you apply it? Here are a few questions to ask and things to consider as you prep for a great superhero game.
What Comic Age Do You Set It In? Decide on what age the campaign will fall into. It doesn’t need to be a direct correlation but rather a general tone or vibe and it should set the values of the universe. Whatever the age, it can be modernized and interwoven into the game. This is something the players should know before making characters as it also lets them have a better sense of the type of game they are playing in. The Punisher blasting his way through a group of criminals doesn’t generally work in a more simple Golden Age Style game.
Know Your Vision: You need to know the scope of the “world” for the first “season” of the game. The scope may change after contact or after a few sessions with the players and that’s fine. The initial setting may be focused on a single city block, neighborhood, or the entire city. By establishing that baseline it enables the game to expand naturally.
Player Characters vs NPCs:  The players should know both the Comic Age and your Vision before creating characters. This lets them build a character that fits into the campaign mechanically.  If a player knows that the game has a Silver Age vibe and deals with keeping the city safe, they may decide to build a mechanical engineer working for a private company knowing they are more likely to encounter alien technology rather than magical power rings.
Backstory. Backstory. Backstory: Backstories are more vital in superhero games than in almost any other genre. The character is living dual existences. This conflict is fertile ground for drama, roleplaying, and enhancing player buy-in. This is the element that makes superhero games more than just punching a bad guy in the face.
What Are The Key Relationships? With the world and superhero backstories established, relationships are going to need fleshed out. These relationships should feel natural by creating complications and moments of joy. My personal balance for this would account for this being 25-30% of the campaign’s focus. These relationships can be both as a superhero and within their secret identity.
What System and Why? Picking a system is always tough. The game needs to feel super-heroic, allowing incredible feats, but not be too crunchy. There are many systems out there that tackle superheroics in different ways — choose the one that fits your play style best.
Lightning Strikes! Running Black Lightning With The Template
Let’s break down a few of the key elements of Black Lightning into the steps above so you can be ready to run a Black Lightning themed game.
Comic Age: Modern Age
Know Your Vision:  Protect Freeland. Much of a Black Lightning game revolves around keeping the city safe and stable.
Player Characters vs Key NPCs: Players: Jefferson, Jennifer, Anissa, Lynn, and Gambi Key NPCs: Tobias, Henderson, Lala, Syonide, and Kara
Backstory. Backstory. Backstory: I won’t delve in too deeply so there aren’t spoilers, but the backstories in Black Lightning are often about uncovering the past and finding out how those things hidden in history affect the future where the current story is being told.
Relationships: There are many relationships that interweave between the main characters, and some of the Key NPCs change throughout the show and in relation to the characters. I don’t want to spoil much, but in a Black Lightning game, relationships will change based on the choices the characters make  — where they put their efforts and what they leave behind to protect Freeland.
What System and Why:  My first thought would be Wild Talents. Wild Talents has the ability to create various powers; the Will mechanic dovetails with the character’s moral drive, and the ease of research. Black Lightning could also easily be run in my upcoming superheroes campaign for Chaosium. That allows for a number of powers, occupations, and sanity effects. An interesting take would be to run the game as a One-2-One. The player would choose one of the main cast, while having the other main cast members be sources, and tackling the series’ story.
Black Lightning as a show is great, and Black Lightning as a game played among friends brings the story to the people at your table. It takes the narrative and makes it a living thing. When you’re jonesing for a new superhero game, look to Black Lightning as something that might give your group a good narrative framework. Where’s the future? Right here.

FEATURE: "Mass Effect: Andromeda" Review
Before we begin, fair warning: I am a massive, unapologetically biased Mass Effect fanboy. It's easily my favorite new game franchise in a long while, and I've spent more time playing and replaying the original trilogy than I care to admit. I have very strong opinions on its world, its story (I legit liked ME3's ending, but I'll discuss that in the comments), and had very high expectations for Mass Effect: Andromeda, the newest chapter in BioWare's space opera RPG. Were those expectations met? Well... yes and no. Let's start from the top:
Sometime during the events of Mass Effect 2, four massive ark ships, each carrying 50,000 individuals from representative races of our galaxy, departs for the distant Andromeda Galaxy, 2.5 million light years away. 600 years pass, and the crew of the human ark Hyperion reaches Andromeda, and things go immediately wrong. The promised "garden world" humanity was supposed to colonize is an uninhabitable hellscape, the first aliens they meet say hello with gunfire, and nobody has any clue where the turian, salarian, or asari arks are. From here, it's up to you, the human Pathfinder, to make things right.
Instead of the entire Milky Way Galaxy from the previous games, Andromeda focuses on one section, the Heleus Cluster, and two new races: the vicious, militaristic kett and the family-oriented angara, who've been stuck fighting the kett for longer than they can remember. Like past games, there are plenty of political entanglements to navigate, like rogue angara who (thanks to the kett) distrust all aliens, humans who want to say "screw the rules" go all Mad Max in this new galaxy, and of course, all the racial tensions from the Milky Way rearing their ugly heads all over again. It's smaller, but feels more intimate--I did miss how special humanity wasn't in the original Mass Effect and getting to learn about all these new, different races, but appreciated how Andromeda very specifically focused on handling the conflict between the angara and the kett.
Putting things bluntly, much of your time in Andromeda is going to be spent doing the same things you did in the previous trilogy: negotiate tense situations, survive double and triple crosses, take sides in a gang war, and help your nakama crew with their personal quests. Between all the big choices and the main quest of finding new homes for 200,000 displaced Milky Way immigrants, there are plenty of smaller, personal errands to take on: get a movie night together for your ship, find the perfect ingredients to create booze, help a particularly doofy colonist find a career path (and not get killed in the process), and of course, try to hook up with everyone that gives you the dialogue option. It's a Mass Effect game, and it's all familiar to a point. It's not all dead-serious survival stress, though, and I really appreciate Andromeda's lighter, more adventurous tone.
As opposed to the huge, sprawling cast we'd grown fond of (to varying degrees) over the initial trilogy, Andromeda starts small, with six squad members and a handful of crewmembers on your new ship, the Tempest. You've got your standard pair of human starting partners, like "I'm really not mad at you, I promise" Cora Harper and "I keep forgetting where I left my shirt" Liam Costa, a grizzled old krogan, a very business-first turian, and an asari Zooey Deschanel. The most interesting new face is Jaal, a member of the new angara race, and getting to know this new alien species on a personal level and earning his trust really adds to the feeling of being a total stranger in this galaxy. Rather than being tied down by "Paragon" or "Renegade" options and limiting responses based on your level, you can choose between Professional, Casual, Emotional, or Logical responses (with the occasional "Impulsive" interrupt) to determine your character's reputation, and a very clear Romantic option during dialogue whenever you feel the need to hit on Space Antonio Banderas Reyes.
The biggest changes come on the other side of the action-RPG coin: the combat. As mentioned in my preview a few weeks back, combat is faster, more streamlined, and expects you to be faster on the draw and smarter with your ability use. Enemy AI isn't the smartest, but the fact that they hit harder and always, always have the numbers advantage make you want to end fights as quickly as possible. Instead of being locked into one class like Soldier or Vanguard for the entire game, you're encouraged to have a mixture of combat, biotic, and tech abilities, and switch classes ("Profiles") as needed for your playstyle or different situations. I ended up favoring the Explorer Profile, which is a perfect balance between the three, and provides strong bonuses across the board, but dedicated individual skillsets like Engineer and Adept gave huge bonuses to specific biotic or tech loadouts. You're given full freedom to build your character's abilities the way you want, and with no level cap (and the usual medbay respec option), you don't have to stress over being stuck with upgrades that aren't working out.
That freedom extends to item creation as well--the sheer amount of junk you collect can seem daunting, but the game's crafting system will cause you to burn through it pretty quickly to create new, better weapons. If you spent a lot of time playing Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, you'll be right at home putting together your kit, weapons, armor, vehicle and all--I'm a big fan of the new melee weapons, like the asari and kett swords. Building planets' livability also allows you to customize what bonuses you get, like regular credit and resource packages, as well as upgrading your APEX strike team.
Feeling a lot like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's Extra Ops, your APEX teams can be called in to take care of side missions while you're playing the main story. Teams have different perks affecting their chances of mission success, and completing these missions earns you more credits, resources, and occasional weapon and armor drops. Some missions can also be played by you, and that's where Andromeda's addicting multiplayer mode comes in. Just like Mass Effect 3, you'll work together with other players and hold off waves of enemies, but this time you won't need to touch multiplayer to finish the main story (but you'll be missing out-it's fun). While there are a few missing classes (sadly, no more volus adepts), I was able to unlock a few more good ones after only playing a few matches--I'll be coming back pretty regularly to Andromeda's multiplayer just for how damn fun it is to run people over with a krogan.
But even with all the cool new stuff, there's a lot of problems with Andromeda, and not all of them can be fixed with a day-one patch. Character animations are unsteady and jittery, with characters popping into movements or just twitching for no reason during cutscenes. At one point, my Ryder was flirting with Cora, and his head started slowly turning 180 degrees before immediately snapping back to normal, just like I do when talking to women in real life. In a few instances, enemies got stuck in level architecture, completely catching me by surprise when a door started shooting at me. Other enemies wouldn't even respond, just standing in an idle animation while I ran up and punched them repeatedly. In one particularly infuriating issue, a quest update wouldn't trigger, but showed the next step available. When I finished that step, the last one still showed, and blocked me from further progress in the quest.
Andromeda's issues run deeper than just technical screwups. While the overall story is cool, moment-to-moment writing can run from bland to trying-too-hard-to-be-Joss-Whedon dumb. Some characters will constantly speak like they're trying to be the coolest person in the room (hi Liam), and when dealing with more minor technical flaws like characters not even looking at the people they're talking to (just in their general direction), it can really break that feeling of immersion. Back on the characters, there are a few truly tone-deaf attempts to be inclusive and show a better future--the intent is there, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The new, villainous kett--and their dickhead leader the Archon--are more annoying than threatening until the game's halfway point, but I can't stop thinking of the Archon as Sarris from Galaxy Quest.
  "YOOOOOU AAAAARE OOOOOUR LAST HOPE"
Even with all that, though, I can't say I had a bad time with Andromeda--at all, really. It's funny how the game's launch kind of parallels the game's story: after a long wait, we're finally here, and nothing's the way it should be. Everything's going wrong, it's not quite matching up to how we expected, and there are a lot of good reasons to be pissed off. Thankfully, sticking with it doesn't just open the door to a rich, fantastic adventure. Mass Effect: Andromeda brings us new friends, new memories, and--most importantly--a new home.
  REVIEW ROUNDUP
+ Brings you right back to that familiar Mass Effect sweet spot between in-depth roleplay and satisfying action
+ Lots to do across a half-dozen hub worlds and your ship, that never feels like busywork or filler
+ Aims for a lighter tone and mostly succeeds, making its emotional moments stand out more clearly
+ Faster, more intense combat is a step up from previous games
+ "Tone Wheel" adds more flexibility and better roleplay options compared to binary "Paragon/Renegade" responses
+ Fun, addicting multiplayer is also 100% separate from the story mode
+/- Lighter tone does come with some less-than-hilarious attempts at humor and quirkiness, but your mileage may vary
- Constant technical glitches and errors, likely due to me playing a pre-release build, but I'm surprised it's this broken
- Inconsistent UX decisions: why can I equip something from a chest, but not from my inventory?
