Icha help what is going on with hxh and its multiple endings, the tag is just confusing me even more, I feel like the whole classroom passed a note and I'm the only one who didn't read it, did Togashi play Who Wanna Be A Millionaire and lost because that's what I'm getting.
oh i'm so sorry i have to be the one to break this news to you
you rn:
Tumblr media
so a couple of days ago Togashi was at an event in which he answered some questions from an interview and everything. In this interview, he was asked about the hxh's ending.
Here's what he replied.
the long story short is that he mentioned that he had 3 ending planned for hxh, all of which he calculates would be meet with different level of satisfaction from fans. His favorite ending is Ending C, but he feels like fans will dislike it the most.
However he also added that to give a picture of the possible endings, he's going to share Ending D, which is an ending he disregarded and would not make canon, but then he added "but if i die before i can finish hxh you can imagine this one to be canon"
Ending D is the cliché type of ending from shounen manga where you cut to Gon's daughter, Jin (get it, because Ging, Jin) who is fishing the god of the lake on Whale's Island for Grandma Mito and Noko, her mother (? a brand new character at least.) We learn her father, Gon, has left as an hunter and Jin wonders why her father is living this life, meanwhile "a figure" (probably Gon) is observing this scene from afar.
So as you can imagine, fans have been Losing It™ to say the least. News outlet has been saying THIS is the true hxh ending and now everyone is mad. Homophobic fans have been extremely eager to spam this ending to the replies of anyone talking about Killugon since because "actually Togashi planned on Gon to have a child" and all of that jazz. It's been a riot. On fire. People have been disappointed. Other heartbroken.
... because everyone is acting like it's going to be the actual ending.
While the interview was literally "here's the ending i disregarded but hey, if i die you can use this one in your head"
Like i said personally i think Togashi is trolling and making fun of the fans who are already burying him. It seems too cliché to be serious, and the fact it's not an ending that is considered makes me think it was never that serious to share to start with.
But fans gonna be fans and the fandom has been on fire ever since this interview came out.
And once people calmed down about this ending, people have been theorizing about the others three teased ending and what would Togashi means about "endings fans would find disappointing" and all of that. So that's where we're at right now.
so welcome to this dumpfire, enjoy your stay!

Hello i was wondering if I could request a headcannon for dating killua or gon (you can choose who bc i can't)😆😆😆😆
ahh! i can’t decide either!
...
how about both? :)
pairings: gon + reader & killua + reader
warnings: none!
Tumblr media
gon freecss
now...
this relationship is definitely a rollercoaster
gon is a naturally hyper and out-going person
which means-
you’d have to adjust in some way
your relationship is built on pure trust in each other
no trust - no way of getting through to him
he relies on people too easily - so it isn’t hard for you to nudge yourself into his life
the two of you had known each other since the start of the hunter exam
from there on - your years spent together morphed into the realization that you two exchanged mutual feelings
therefore - causing the two of you to become a couple
gon as a boyfriend is an interesting concept to think about
he loves conversations
give this kid a topic and he could talk to you about it for days
he’s a social person - it runs through his veins
not from ging though
an upside of gon’s unique personality is that he’s practically always happy
rarely do you see him reflect any other emotion
excluding the chimera ant arc
he’s a positive outlook on your life
you admire him - he stays optimistic through difficult times
for one-
when going through the journey of finding his father, he hardly got frustrated
a determined grin was plastered on his face the whole time
he’s ready for almost anything - it’s frightening... but admittedly admirable
if you’re in the slumps, gon will try to talk to you and lift your mood
motivational words can be spoken from him
impressive, given his lack of the ability in grasping information
you think his short-circuits are cute, though
gon practically worships the ground you walk on
he’s very blunt - so sometimes when he verbally expresses his feelings it can catch you by surprise
he loves watching the flustered look on your face though
when he introduces you to somebody, he always says “this is my my girlfriend, y/n!”
clearly, he’s proud to call you his
vice versa
but of course - there’s downsides to every relationship
as seen from numerous occasions-
gon can be selfish.
this can sometimes apply to your own relationship, as dreadful as it sounds
the worst part is that half the time, he doesn’t realize the effects of his actions
or - maybe he plays clueless
you can’t tell the difference
skipping dates, leaving you abruptly, or forgetting events are all occasional occurrences that could be expected from him
at times, he does things to only gain for his benefit
he genuinely forgets important things
most of the time, he has something else on his mind that he deems is worth more impotance
though, that doesn’t entirely mean that YOU aren’t important to him
you’re his s/o! he loves you to death
it’s just that if he craves something, he’s willing to risk everything he has just to obtain it
Tumblr media
killua zoldyck
bless the both you
a relationship with killua would be packed with pure teasing and shy exchanges
killua isn’t much of a verbally or physically expressive person- he much rather keep his thoughts to himself
but you’re there to help him
so you do
overtime, you two build an emotional attachment to one another
this is when he realizes that he’d much rather stay with you for the rest of his life than be limited to being good friends
so you become his s/o
dating killua is much like being in a relationship with your best friend
the two of you click amazingly
your favorite thing about him?
he’s an AMAZING listener
and he gives the best hugs
no one can convince me otherwise
if he listens to you, you’re gonna have to listen to him
that is, if he wants to talk
killua’s past is traumatic - it’s clear. he doesn’t like to talk much about it, though it’s apparent that’s it’s damaged him in the long-run
he’s scared of commitment, and new things make him wary
but you’re here to coach him through it all! :)
i feel like he’d eventually open up after a bit
and i also get the feeling that he’d tear-up while doing so
he’s so touch-starved, please give him affection
he tries to play it off cool and act like he dislikes it, but secretly he savors all of your touches
you make him so happy
his world is content when you’re there
much like yours is when he’s there
killua likes to tease you a lot
he’ll never go to far! he knows his limits
but he does enjoy seeing you fake-roll your eyes at him
it makes him smile so wide
you’re genuinely perfect to him aw
now!
in the hunter world - there is bound to be some evil lurking
being in constant avoidance of his family - killua tries his best to ensure you never meet any other zoldyck that isn’t alluka or milluki (and maybe kalluto) - aka his least threatening family members
from illumi’s perspective - you could possibly be inadequate for killua
which grants your name in his list of targets
quite obviously, this doesn’t sit well with killua AT ALL
sure, it had been a while since he had seen or heard from illumi, but he still wasn’t sure if he was stronger than him
back when he had confronted him at the hunter exam, he was a pure shrimp compared to him
but now - needless and powerful with nen, he’s positive he could put up some fight
he’ll keep you protected at all costs
it doesn’t matter if you can fight for yourself - he’ll step in anyway
any fight, any problem
it’s sweet of him, though you can’t help but feel he thinks of you as incapable of fighting your own battles
you’re sure he doesn’t mean to come off that way
also! you are by far alluka’s favorite person
sorry killua
the three of you go on adventures all the time, and you never as for a better group to be with

ranking hxh arcs from best to worst (based on the 2011 anime)
(spoiler warning, in case ur a stranger somehow stumbling across this post!)
1. yorknew city
listen. it had everything. it was very suspenseful and exciting to watch, loads of interesting characters, it was the introduction of the phantom troupe and you got further insight into hisoka’s character & motivations. gon, killua, kurapika & leorio all had important storylines and they finally reunited, it was very fun to watch and had me at the edge of my seat. great arc, loved every second from start to finish.
2. chimera ant
i have a lot of (mixed) feelings about this arc. what i really disliked about it is how long the story was dragged out for (literally 61 episodes are u kidding me), it definitely could’ve done without like a third of the episodes. at times it felt boring and almost dreadful for me to watch, especially considering that the whole arc is kind of really depressing (and irritating). imo the focus should’ve been less on the ants, i really missed the other characters. kite disappearing after like five episodes made me so mad. but towards the end i really, really enjoyed this arc. it’s the most ‘serious’ scenario gon & killua have yet had to face, and at that point a lot of interesting & likeable new characters were introduced. really suspenseful, we finally saw netero fighting, that part was also so visually stunning. i really appreciated the few phantom troupe episodes as well, feitan’s fight vs zazan was insane and i liked seeing them in their hometown. obviously this arc is very important for both gon and killua’s development. the build up to gon realizing that kite’s dead and his transformation. there was the “gon, you are light” scene (crying), palm telling killua that he’s the one gon needs most and gon rejecting his help in fighting pitou/saying really hurtful things to him. i loved meruem’s character development, it was so captivating and unforeseeable, i was consistently debating his morality, and the end of his and komugi’s story made me cry really really hard. so beautifully tragic and painful. it’s definitely one of my favorite storylines in all of hxh.
3. heavens arena
short but sweet. it was nice to be introduced to nen and see gon & killua learn how to use it. wing is very cool too. the fights were awesome, especially those with hisoka. he really got to shine in this arc. i thought it was just pretty fun.
4. hunter exam
it’s a great introduction to the characters and the series in general. the different stages of the exam were very fun and interesting imo, it never got boring and it was very cool to discover the characters’ different traits, powers and stories (even if just briefly). also i just love seeing the main four together. hisoka’s entrance to the story was incredible too.
5. chairman election
this one’s difficult too. first of all, so many things happen in such short time. i was legitimately shocked when ging showed up. i didn’t expect for him and gon to meet this “soon” tbh. on one side i am incredibly happy for gon to finally spend time with his father and feel accepted by him, but i also still don’t forgive ging for his absence, it’s not gonna be that easy to make up for it. then, we got to see how intense illumi actually is, and how protective of his family killua can be. i was so happy when he saved alluka and also accepted nanika, and i think it’s great that they can make memories together now. but i still think he and gon shouldn’t be apart like this, after all that’s happened. killua has always been there for gon, unlike ging, and (as i see it) gon is the number one most important thing in killua’s life - that sadly also means he’ll make the sacrifice of giving gon the space to be with ging instead. then, i LOVED leorio in this arc. he exhibited some real king behavior when he punched ging, and i’m so happy he realized the value of his friendships. speaking of: what is kurapika doing??? that’s another thing upsetting me about this end.
6. greed island
definitely not bad, but by far not as cool or fun as i thought it would be. kind of lame considering it was teased as a video game for hunters full of adventure. but bisky’s training with gon and killua was nice, the different cards and spells were really cool and creative and i liked the little challenges they had to face. (also the dodgeball game,,,,,, gon/killua/hisoka teamwork plus the intense killugon subtext,,)
7. zoldyck family
relatively short, but it made me so happy to see gon and killua reunited. interesting insight into the individual members of the zoldyck family too. canaria’s story was so touching, she deserves so much better.

Every point you said about hating Ging, Valid 💕
Tbh this did awaken me on why I don’t like him as well, I thought it’s because he’s a terrible father and a terrible human being, but I think I also projected him as most men I argue with?? Smelly, disgusting, makes me want to punch them. They argue because they want to argue not because they want to deliver a point.
Anyways to anyone reading this besides Beth, don’t send us hate just because we dislike certain characters 💖
(I swear if I see someone sending Beth hate I will fight I’m not joking 😚)
-Azelma🌸
Hes a bad man and clearly thats the point of his character but something about his whole ass self screams at me,,,, people may lewd him how they like, i see the appeal of it but to like his as a person is a bit odd i guess??? But to notice his character is important is kinda common sense lets be honest. I just dont like him as a person because of what i stated. Also yeahhhhh we mean no harm by what we say and if Ging is your comfort character then do you babyyyyy 💕💖

Do you think Killua will ever get to the point where he can be as emotionally vulnerable with Gon as he is with Alluka?
Is it bad that I low key hope Togash brings in a love interest or some other companion for Gon when the spotlight is on him again? Just cuz Killua just ditched him for Alluka, I want to see Gon get a special bond too.
Hello anons!
These asks can be answered together.
To the first one the answer is yes since I think that Killua becoming able to better convey his feelings is a part of his arc. What is more there is this:
Tumblr media
One of the reasons of Gon and Killua’s conflict is that they miscommunicated. On one hand Gon repressed his feelings until the battle. On the other hand Killua did not openly discuss his doubts and insecurities.
That said, I would like to highlight that Killua’s relationship with Alluka is different from the one he has with Gon. He and Gon are peers and equals and share a strong bond, but also a wish to compete and to impress each other (basically a friendly rivalry). Killua is instead Alluka’s older brother and considers himself her protector. Alluka herself (and Nanika) keeps asking Killua for acts of affection as pats, hugs and so on. This does not mean that Killua is completely open with Alluka since he keeps several things from her in a misplaced attempt to protect her. For example, he did not tell her about his plan of sealing Nanika away. At the same time, it was Alluka herself who touched the topic of their family mistreating hear and not Killua approaching it to discuss it. In short, Killua shares with Alluka things he does not with Gon, while shares with Gon things he would not share with Alluka. This is not because there is a hierarchy concerning the two relationships, but simply because the two relationships are different and so they have different dynamics, different strengths and different flaws.
As far as the second ask is concerned, everyone can headcanon whatever they want and it has absolutely nothing to do with being right or wrong :).
That said, I disagree with the notion of Killua ditching Gon for Alluka even if I realize it is probably just a joke or a colorful way to describe what happened. That said, the whole idea of “ditching” suggests that there is a hierarchy between the two relationships, that Gon has been wronged somehow and that Alluka is somehow a love interest for Killua/ a person who shares with Killua the same relationship he used to have with Gon. I disagree with all these three notions for different reasons.
1) As I have stated before I do not think the two relationships have a hierarchy. Killua might try to give them a hieararchy in his head, but he is bound to fail and he will have to accept they are both equally important for him. After all, we have already had a glimpse of this kind of mentality crumbling thanks to Killua’s friendship with Ikalgo. Killua became friends with Ikalgo despite him being an enemy and later he risked the mission and left Gon’s side in order to save the octopus. It is not that Ikalgo is more important than Gon, but that Killua is learning he can have multiple important friendships and he has learnt it thanks to his relationship with Gon.
2) Gon has not been wronged by Killua. Killua has been fighting tooth and nail to cure him. His objective in the Election Arc is to save both Gon and Alluka after all. To be more specific he has been able to save one because of the other. As a matter of fact he saved Gon with Alluka’s power, while he freed Alluka with the excuse of curing Gon. This is a result he could not have obtained without both Alluka and Gon.
What is more, I dislike the notion that two friends or even two partners can’t spend time apart and have to revolve completely around each other. This kind of mentality can be unhealthy and it has actually been highlighted as unhealthy in Killua and Gon’s case. The whole point of the CAA is to show that parts (not the entirity) of Killua and Gon’s relationship are unhealthy and that they need to grow as individuals, so that their relationship can grow as well.
3) Alluka is not a love interest for Killua. She is a sibling and one Killua has neglected and that he has not been seeing for years. It is not surprising that Killua wants to spend time with Alluka. This makes even more sense if one considers the fact Alluka has been kept captive for years and is still being targeted by her family. Right now, Alluka needs Killua’s help, while Gon does not.
Finally, there is a reason if, in the latest arc, several relationships concerning Killua and his peers have been explored. I am talking about Killua’s relationships with both Ikalgo and Palm which have both been important for Killua’s arc. The reason is simple and has to do with the fact that in the beginning Killua thought he could not form bonds with others. He managed to become Gon’s friend and since Gon is his first friend he has been focused on him. However, thanks to Gon and to the people he got to know because of him, Killua has started to become able to form other bonds in a natural way. In other words, Killua’s arc has focused on his relationships with Ikalgo, Palm and Alluka because these relationships show his growth.
Gon’s growth has nothing to do with him becoming able to forge bonds because he has been able to do so since the beginning. He has easily become friends with Leorio and Kurapika and managed to basically have all the people in the final phase of the exam to root for him. The focus of Gon’s arc in the CAA and onwards has been parental relationships. Gon has been projecting his father on Kite and later on he has seeked advice from Ging. Finally in the current arc he has gone back home to his mother figure.
In short, it is not true that only Killua has special relationships. Gon has them too, but his are of a different kind. This does not mean Gon will not get a new companion if the focus goes back to him and he starts travelling again without Killua. He might meet someone depending on the story (after all Kurapika gains new comrades in every arc he is in) and this new comrade might develop a very close bond with him. We will see!
Thank you for the asks!

I find this really odd that people think Ging was reluctant to leave Gon. I mean I feel Mito’s words from the manga are not interpreted in the context of the world? Mito might have needed to sue for custody, sure. But she was a teen with no job straddled with an infant. She needed to get some money to take care of him and well some rights if she needed to take him to the doctor… otherwise people would be like: why does this teen have a kid? It’ not like Ging would have left her any necessary paperwork concerning Gon. XD
And I feel people forget who Ging is. Ging is a megarich person, who is very well respected in his profession - like people dislike him but respect his skills. And the said profession functions outside of the law. He also knows literal magic and other people who can do magic. And against all odds some of those people actually like him. Still he’s super rich so.
The point is, if Ging wanted to keep Gon he had a lot of very simple options.
1. He’s rich, he could have kept Gon in some house he bought, hire a nanny and tutors, visit when he’d feel like it. Bringing Gon to Mito shows how lazy he is and how much he doesn’t even consider keeping this child.
2. But ok, he brought the kid to Mito, and then reconsidered. The easy dick move is to use magic, hire some manipulator, make Mito think she doesn’t want this kid. A no drama option.
3. Let’s say he didn’t make it in time. It would have been enough if Ging hired a lawyer. Mito is a child, with no parents and no income. I’ve explained Ging’s status above. We may know he’s a douchebag, but the court wouldn’t, especially if an expensive lawyer prepped Ging. If the court would be difficult about it there is also an option of bribing or exerting pressure through the Hunters Association, we’ve seen it strongarm governments, a family court doesn’t seem like a stretch.
What I’m saying Ging had to literally ignore all summons to lose Gon. There was no court battle. Mito went to court and since the father didn’t even show up the court said: i guess this other child will do.

Rules: choose any three fandoms (in random order) and answer the question. Then tag some friends •̀.̫•́✧
I choose: •Yuri on ice •Tokyo ghoul(:re) •HunterxHunter
The first character you loved: •Yuuri (he was sad and crying and I’m weak) •It was either Touka or Hide (Touka is so beautiful and Hide is a literal ray of sunshine) •Gon (such a pure sweet child)
The character you never expected to love so much: •Yuri. (He seemed a bit mean and aggressive, but he’s like 15, and never had friends and I want him to be happy) •Literally every other character, minor characters/ antagonists, except Kanou. Fuck Kanou. Especially Rize, like I can’t describe my love for her. Kaneki bro, I relate so much with the you, back on chapter one. •The Chimera Ants (how? why? pain)
The character you relate to the most: •Yuri (I’m angry, love leopard prints and cats, love my Grandpa and can’t make friends) •Kaneki and Saiko •Illumi, just because of that 1999 anime scene, were he just rolls over lifelessly, once Gon fly kicks him. (same tbh)
The character you’d slap: •Idk, no one? Georgie, maybe? But like in the ‘snap out of it, you need to get over her and not make weird creepy skate choreos about her’ way. •Furuta •Definitely Hisoka. (Maybe Illumi too. If I could do both, I’d do both.) Update: I just remembered Ging exists, I’m conflicted.
Three favorite characters (these are in order of preference): •Yuuri, Victor, Yuri (the skating fam + maccachin) •Hide, Kaneki, Touka. •Gon, Killua, Illumi. (idk why I like that asshole, it’s probably the hair tbh.)
A character you liked at first but not so much anymore: •Chris? I still love him, just less than the others I guess? idk • Aura jr (I liked all the new qs, but he’s kinda creeping me out now.) Furuta too. (at some point I had even trusted him, tha lil shit.) • Silva (he seemed pretty chill and like a decent father, but I really don’t like the way he treated Alluka). Netero, I didn’t like him at the end.
A character you didn’t like at first but they’ve grown on you: •JJ, he was the only one I genuinely disliked, but I guess it’s JJ style. •Rize (I went from “hoe don’t you dare” to “please marry me, ily.” Also Nishiki and Tsukiyama and all the other minor characters and antagonists (except Kanou). •The chimera ants. The zodiacs (minus Pariston, he can stay in the trash were he belongs).
OTP’s: •Yuuri/Victor, Yuri/Otabek, Chris/mystery man with the cat carrier, Guand Hong/ Leo, Mila/Sara, Michele/Emil, JJ/his fiancée, Pichit/ his dream, the Nishigori fam. •Kaneki/Hide (the otp of otps), Touka/ Yoriko, Nishiki/Kimi, Kaneki/Touka, Kaneki/Tsukiyama, Mutsuki/Urie, Karen/Tsukiyama, Akira/Seidou, Akira/Amon, Amon/doughnuts, Hinami/Ayato, Arima/Take, Uta/Yomo/Itori. •Killua/Gon, Kurapika/Leorio, Meruem/Komugi, Illumi/Hisoka, Alluka and Nanika/love happiness and acceptance, Chrollo/Hisoka/Illumi.
I’m tagging (if you guys want to do this, please go ahead) @rotatingowls @popeeseeds @sassy-lettuce @boomfandoms @ichaichalivinglegacy
